Transcript
- 0:23SPEAKER_00: Hey there.
- 0:25SPEAKER_00: Groove has always been the password on my iPad.
- 0:29SPEAKER_00: I'd enter it every day before class began to access my music.
- 0:34SPEAKER_00: Standing in the corner of the studio with my back toward a room full of dancers, I could feel their energy waiting for me to begin.
- 0:44SPEAKER_00: I'd take a deep breath and type the word groove.
- 0:50SPEAKER_00: It was a ritual of sorts, and it connected me not only to my music, but to the possibilities of what I might create.
- 0:59SPEAKER_00: Sometimes I had nightmares that I was just standing there frozen, unable to unlock my music, standing on the bridge between fear and flow.
- 1:12SPEAKER_00: In music, the bridge connects one section to another, carrying the listener to a less familiar place.
- 1:22SPEAKER_00: That change in the status quo creates tension, but it also elevates the experience, amplifying anticipation, curiosity, and offering a new perspective before returning to the familiar refrain.
- 1:42SPEAKER_00: In life, fear often plays that same role.
- 1:47SPEAKER_00: Fear creates tension.
- 1:50SPEAKER_00: Fear signals transition.
- 1:53SPEAKER_00: And fear, if you are willing, can also invite curiosity.
- 1:59SPEAKER_00: When we meet fear consciously, it becomes the bridge from rut to groove, from stagnation to movement, from habit to possibility.
- 2:17SPEAKER_00: In this analogy, you are the dancer and life is the song.
- 2:26SPEAKER_00: So if repetitive unconscious thoughts create our ruts, what keeps us from finding our groove?
- 2:33SPEAKER_00: What's standing in the way?
- 2:38SPEAKER_00: Well, that's where our inner blocks come in.
- 2:41SPEAKER_00: The veritable trolls that make it difficult to cross that bridge.
- 2:46SPEAKER_00: These invisible forces dig our ruts and hold us there, whispering doubts and distractions that keep us from moving forward.
- 2:55SPEAKER_00: I call them Lisa's.
- 3:00SPEAKER_00: Not just because they happen to be my initials, but because they're often as automatic and familiar as our own first name.
- 3:07SPEAKER_00: They show up without us even realizing it.
- 3:10SPEAKER_00: Habitual patterns that feel like just who we are.
- 3:15SPEAKER_00: It also helps me own it.
- 3:17SPEAKER_00: Because at the end of the day, I'm the one creating them.
- 3:21SPEAKER_00: And when I take responsibility for that, I also reclaim the power to change them.
- 3:34SPEAKER_00: L is for limiting beliefs, the ingrained convictions that quietly dictate what we think is possible.
- 3:44SPEAKER_00: I is interpretations, the stories and judgments we attach to what happens.
- 3:53SPEAKER_00: S is for saboteur, the inner critic that feeds on fear and self-doubt.
- 3:59SPEAKER_00: And A is for assumptions, the expectations that the past will repeat itself.
- 4:06SPEAKER_00: L-I-S-A, Lisa, these are the blocks that disrupt our flow.
- 4:14SPEAKER_00: The good news, once we name them, we can begin to tame them and cross the bridge from rut to groove.
- 4:27SPEAKER_00: If this has tweaked your interest, this is an excerpt from the book that I'm writing called I Get To: The Power of Energetic Choice.
- 4:40SPEAKER_00: In it, I'll break down limiting beliefs, I'll break down interpretations, I'll break down saboteurs, I will break down assumptions in order to clear the way for access to higher energetic choice to be continued.
- 4:58SPEAKER_00: I'm Lisa Hopkins.
- 5:00SPEAKER_00: Stay safe and healthy, everyone, and remember to live in the moment.
