- 0:05Speaker 1: Apoday production.
- 0:10Speaker 2: We begin today by acknowledging the traditional custodians of the
- 0:13Speaker 2: land on which we gather today and pay our respects
- 0:16Speaker 2: to their elders past and present. We extend that respect
- 0:19Speaker 2: to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people's here today.
- 0:25Speaker 3: Welcome to the Grow and Glow Podcast. I'm Ashy, I'm Kiara.
- 0:28Speaker 4: This is a podcast where we learn, laugh, and level
- 0:31Speaker 4: up together.
- 0:32Speaker 1: Let's go deep, let the emotions flow, and find the
- 0:34Speaker 1: lessons to grow and glow. Nothing is off the table
- 0:37Speaker 1: with Grow and Glow, and we're here to be your expander.
- 0:43Speaker 1: Hey guys, welcome back to the show. Look, we all
- 0:46Speaker 1: get in funks sometimes we do. Everyone does. It's a
- 0:49Speaker 1: normal part of living. But today this is gonna be
- 0:52Speaker 1: your little high vibe pick me up pep talk of
- 0:55Speaker 1: how you can get out of a funk. Yes, I've
- 0:57Speaker 1: been a bit of a funk lately, so this is
- 0:58Speaker 1: a really perfect timing episode for me to remind myself
- 1:01Speaker 1: of all the things that I can do and I
- 1:04Speaker 1: can choose to do to help myself get out of it. Yay,
- 1:07Speaker 1: let's tr it into watch all. You're like number one
- 1:10Speaker 1: thing that when you're in a funk that you automatically.
- 1:12Speaker 4: Go to anything creative.
- 1:14Speaker 3: Yes, I think creativity is a great way for me
- 1:17Speaker 3: to have like an outlet and connect with myself.
- 1:19Speaker 1: Okay, so what kind of creative things do you do?
- 1:22Speaker 3: Painting your painting whenever, I'm like rock fucking bottom with
- 1:27Speaker 3: my focus, It's like meditation for me. So all you
- 1:30Speaker 3: can do is concentrate on staying inside the lines, so
- 1:32Speaker 3: it really slows myself down. I feel like it's so
- 1:35Speaker 3: great to just feel really grounded and so down my
- 1:38Speaker 3: nervous system.
- 1:39Speaker 4: I just love painting.
- 1:41Speaker 1: You got me wine, But I feel like to do
- 1:43Speaker 1: this kind of painting that you do because I want
- 1:44Speaker 1: to get into it. But I just haven't liked any
- 1:47Speaker 1: of the pictures I do. Either I want something that
- 1:50Speaker 1: means something or that just I'm more drawn to. Yeah,
- 1:54Speaker 1: but I feel like everyone that I look at they're
- 1:56Speaker 1: just ugly.
- 1:57Speaker 4: They can be a bit hit me.
- 1:58Speaker 3: I've done a couple of one and I've been like, okay,
- 2:00Speaker 3: you guys can have it to the like, I don't.
- 2:02Speaker 1: Want to paint ugly floral curtain, yeah you know what
- 2:06Speaker 1: I mean, or like a budgy you know, yeah, you
- 2:08Speaker 1: know something cool that means something and that I would
- 2:10Speaker 1: actually proudly put up on my wall.
- 2:12Speaker 4: Yeah, but you know it's so much fun.
- 2:15Speaker 3: I love it and it's just quality top with myself. Yeah,
- 2:18Speaker 3: I feel like I can really get out of my
- 2:19Speaker 3: head as well. Like say, if you're starting to overthink
- 2:21Speaker 3: something and you're stressy, if there's tiny little bits and
- 2:24Speaker 3: pieces on there, you need to focus to make sure
- 2:25Speaker 3: you're not going to go outside that line.
- 2:27Speaker 4: So yeah, it is my meditation.
- 2:29Speaker 1: Very present. Yeah I'm very slow.
- 2:31Speaker 4: Yes, yeah, so yeah, that's my number one.
- 2:33Speaker 3: And then dancing, even creating content like sometimes it just
- 2:37Speaker 3: gets into that giggly fun.
- 2:38Speaker 1: Energy, just creative, just creative.
- 2:41Speaker 4: How about you? What's your number one?
- 2:43Speaker 1: Number one for like instant relief or instant mood shifter
- 2:47Speaker 1: is exercise. Yeap, So it's probably the main thing I'll
- 2:50Speaker 1: go to is a long nature walk. So I'll go
- 2:52Speaker 1: out to Burly Headland and even when I'm feeling it,
- 2:54Speaker 1: Steeves like, I get headphones and go to Burly Headland.
- 2:57Speaker 1: It's like me and his favorite spot to go exercise
- 2:59Speaker 1: because you're at nature. Are the oceans there, the rainforest
- 3:02Speaker 1: is there. You can listen to something uplifting Whenever I'm
- 3:04Speaker 1: like in a move to Steve's always like, hey, what
- 3:07Speaker 1: do you want to feel because that's gonna determine the
- 3:08Speaker 1: type of content you should take in. Yeah, He's like,
- 3:10Speaker 1: if I'm feeling like I really need a pushion in business,
- 3:13Speaker 1: or listen to something really entrepreneurial, if I'm feeling like
- 3:15Speaker 1: I haven't been manifesting lately, or go back to Gabby Bernstein.
- 3:19Speaker 1: He's like, choose your content wisely and go and move
- 3:21Speaker 1: your body. And it's that's my instant go to and
- 3:24Speaker 1: it always has been since I've been a little girl.
- 3:27Speaker 1: But there's so many other things. If I want to
- 3:29Speaker 1: go like more in depth, I pull out a healing journal, Yeah,
- 3:33Speaker 1: because it's got the twelve chapters on the different topics.
- 3:35Speaker 1: So whatever I'm feeling, there's something there to help me
- 3:38Speaker 1: uncover and unpack it. And no matter how many times
- 3:41Speaker 1: do the journal, I am packed something different because that's
- 3:43Speaker 1: what life is. It's always never going to be the same.
- 3:45Speaker 1: You're always going to have new challenges, new experiences, and
- 3:48Speaker 1: new things you've got to navigate through. And it just
- 3:50Speaker 1: helps me get to that next layer of like why
- 3:53Speaker 1: I'm feeling like I'm feeling and also like kind of
- 3:55Speaker 1: a plan of how to get out of.
- 3:56Speaker 3: It, definitely, and also like the cool thing about the
- 3:59Speaker 3: journal as well is like it has got creative tasks
- 4:01Speaker 3: in there. My favorite thing actually that I've probably used
- 4:03Speaker 3: the most in our journal, just so surprising, is the
- 4:06Speaker 3: letter in the back. If I'm feeling really pissed off
- 4:08Speaker 3: or angry, or like I can't voice and explain how
- 4:11Speaker 3: I'm feeling. I've been loving the lettering system.
- 4:14Speaker 1: That's so funny you say that because I was really
- 4:16Speaker 1: upset about something with someone a couple of weeks ago,
- 4:19Speaker 1: and I was like, oh, but I feel like I've
- 4:21Speaker 1: had this conversation with this person before. And you were like,
- 4:23Speaker 1: write the letter, babe, get your joner out and get
- 4:25Speaker 1: a pa gets to the back, write the letter. And
- 4:27Speaker 1: I was like, oh, but I'm not going to give
- 4:28Speaker 1: it to this person. You were like, that's okay, rip
- 4:30Speaker 1: it out, burn it, keep it, whatever you want to do,
- 4:31Speaker 1: just get it out on paper. And I did it
- 4:33Speaker 1: so healing, so good. I love that, And there's quite
- 4:36Speaker 1: a few pages, so it's not like you don't get
- 4:38Speaker 1: the journal and only have one opportunity to do that. Yeah.
- 4:40Speaker 4: Yeah, that's really really coret to get.
- 4:44Speaker 3: If I'm trying to explain things, I don't know what
- 4:46Speaker 3: it is, but sometimes when you write it down, I
- 4:47Speaker 3: feel like I can articulate myself better, and I feel
- 4:50Speaker 3: like the way that they're hearing the words certain things
- 4:52Speaker 3: might like click bit better when communicate.
- 4:55Speaker 1: If they're reading a letter, I don't at you. But
- 4:56Speaker 1: if I read a letter, I'm slow and I'm present
- 4:59Speaker 1: with the words, Whereas when it's in text, I feel
- 5:00Speaker 1: like I can be a bit more reactive and the
- 5:03Speaker 1: tone I don't know, text is just so quick reactive result,
- 5:06Speaker 1: it's like, Wow, they've taken the time to write this.
- 5:07Speaker 1: You take the time to really take in and absorb
- 5:09Speaker 1: how they're feeling. Yeah, yeah beautiful. So yeah, journaling something
- 5:13Speaker 1: to go a bit deeper, but instantly it's exercise for me. Yeah.
- 5:18Speaker 1: And leading on to exercise is sunshine Vitamin D. Like
- 5:21Speaker 1: when the sun hits your skin, it just does something
- 5:24Speaker 1: to you. It's so relaxing but so energizing. We all
- 5:27Speaker 1: need vitamin D. Obviously, there's a fine balance of like
- 5:29Speaker 1: cooking yourself on the sun, but we all should be
- 5:31Speaker 1: getting vitamin D from the sun every single day. Yeah,
- 5:34Speaker 1: that really helps like an instant, oh like feel more
- 5:38Speaker 1: at peace.
- 5:38Speaker 3: Definitely a really easy pick me up which is super
- 5:42Speaker 3: simple to incorporate into our routine. If you do your
- 5:44Speaker 3: makeup every day. If you do your makeup every day,
- 5:46Speaker 3: Whenever I do this, I feel like I'm really fucking
- 5:48Speaker 3: high vibes. And I go in and out of doing it.
- 5:50Speaker 3: I feel like I go through phases where I'm super
- 5:52Speaker 3: consistent for ages and.
- 5:53Speaker 4: Then I kind of drop off.
- 5:54Speaker 3: But listen to a pick me up chat in the
- 5:57Speaker 3: morning while you're doing your makeup, I go on YouTube
- 5:59Speaker 3: and I just type in motivational talk or I will
- 6:01Speaker 3: watch your YouTube video that I'm really like, a YouTube
- 6:03Speaker 3: that I'm really liking that's just upl and it just puts.
- 6:05Speaker 4: Me in good spirits, good vibes.
- 6:07Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 6:07Speaker 3: But yeah, if I do that in the morning, because
- 6:09Speaker 3: I'm doing my makeup anyway, I'm just literally listening at
- 6:11Speaker 3: the same time, so I'm multitasking. Yes, I feel like
- 6:14Speaker 3: it really sets me up for the day because I
- 6:16Speaker 3: do my makeup first thing in the morning.
- 6:17Speaker 4: It's like before I even interact with the kids sometimes.
- 6:20Speaker 1: Oh yeah, And it's just a.
- 6:21Speaker 4: Really beautiful way to start the day.
- 6:23Speaker 1: Side because that's what I struggle with as Tarler wants
- 6:25Speaker 1: to do makeup with me. So if I have a
- 6:26Speaker 1: YouTube video going, she's either clicking my phone or she's like, eh,
- 6:30Speaker 1: I can't absorb the information. But if I do it
- 6:32Speaker 1: before they get up, then I'd be able to have
- 6:35Speaker 1: that space because I love listening to like a pet
- 6:37Speaker 1: me talk, that first.
- 6:38Speaker 4: Thing in the morning talk.
- 6:39Speaker 1: It's so good.
- 6:40Speaker 4: And now Wednesday episode is really good for that. Yes,
- 6:42Speaker 4: little quick pick me up it is.
- 6:43Speaker 1: It starts your day off on the right for even
- 6:45Speaker 1: the Friday episode. Yeah, so we now have I don't
- 6:47Speaker 1: know if you guys know, but we now have a
- 6:49Speaker 1: Friday episode. Now it's not a brand new episode, but
- 6:51Speaker 1: it's our producer going back to older episodes and finding
- 6:53Speaker 1: the best bits, little bite sized chunks. If you don't
- 6:56Speaker 1: have time to listen to a half an hour or
- 6:58Speaker 1: forty five minute episode, they're like anywhere from five to
- 7:01Speaker 1: fifteen minutes, little bite sized chunks that you can walk
- 7:03Speaker 1: away be like, wow, I've learned thing I'm inspired by
- 7:06Speaker 1: that didn't know that. Okay, I can see that from
- 7:08Speaker 1: a different perspective that.
- 7:09Speaker 4: I'm just all alone in this. Yeah, so many different
- 7:11Speaker 4: things that we've gone through really the best bits.
- 7:14Speaker 1: Yeah, the highlight.
- 7:15Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 7:15Speaker 1: So if you haven't listened, if you're new here and
- 7:16Speaker 1: you haven't listened to a lot about episodes, the Friday
- 7:19Speaker 1: Mines are a really good, easy one to just go
- 7:20Speaker 1: and click and listen to. And I love other podcasts
- 7:23Speaker 1: there's listened to you the other day. His name is
- 7:26Speaker 1: let Me get him un Actually he's got a business podcast.
- 7:29Speaker 1: He's an entrepreneur. He's done so well. Steve got me
- 7:31Speaker 1: onto him. His name it's just loading Alex Hormosy. While
- 7:36Speaker 1: I'm probably saying that wrong, haarmo Zi. His podcast is
- 7:41Speaker 1: called The Game, So he has a ton of episodes
- 7:44Speaker 1: based around entrepreneurship, business, money. He's ups and downs, he's incredible.
- 7:50Speaker 1: But he's got a lot of his episodes that are
- 7:52Speaker 1: very similar to us twenty eight minutes. But then he's
- 7:54Speaker 1: got these bite sized ones that are thirteen minutes, eleven minutes,
- 7:56Speaker 1: five minutes. You know what, I've only listened to the
- 7:59Speaker 1: bite sized chunk ones. Here you go, because I just
- 8:01Speaker 1: find it's quick and easy to just get a good
- 8:03Speaker 1: chunk of advice or wisdom.
- 8:05Speaker 3: The first thing that I minutes you cant eferends in
- 8:08Speaker 3: where you're making the breaky's for the kids or whatever.
- 8:09Speaker 1: Because think over a year, if you do that every day,
- 8:11Speaker 1: how much more information you've taken in. So cool.
- 8:13Speaker 4: Yeah, that's that's a good one.
- 8:16Speaker 1: Love that. One thing that I really love to do
- 8:19Speaker 1: when I'm in a funk is book something that I'm
- 8:21Speaker 1: really looking forward to that's not like whether it's a massage,
- 8:25Speaker 1: whether it's a stay cay with Steve, whether it's booking
- 8:27Speaker 1: flights my mum to come down, whether it's a girl's dinner,
- 8:30Speaker 1: whether it's I don't know, just something I'm booking, something
- 8:32Speaker 1: in that I can look forward to and get excited about.
- 8:35Speaker 1: I think it's really important day to day and in
- 8:37Speaker 1: life just have things to look forward to.
- 8:39Speaker 4: Yeah, that's beautiful.
- 8:41Speaker 3: Oh my gosh, this is probably actually my number one thing.
- 8:44Speaker 1: I don't know what is.
- 8:45Speaker 3: When I actually did my coaching session with Brad, we
- 8:47Speaker 3: like unpacked a fair bit about like where my home
- 8:51Speaker 3: is and where I feel safe and where my calling
- 8:54Speaker 3: is and the place for me to go to when
- 8:56Speaker 3: I'm feeling the feels. Actually he helped me make the
- 8:59Speaker 3: decision to get married on the beach. Yeah, because the
- 9:01Speaker 3: beach is my home and whenever I'm there, I feel
- 9:03Speaker 3: so grounded.
- 9:04Speaker 4: I feel so great.
- 9:05Speaker 3: If I'm especially feeling emotional, not so much like frazzle
- 9:08Speaker 3: all this all that, but if I'm feeling really emotional
- 9:10Speaker 3: and like sadness for certain things going on, that's my
- 9:13Speaker 3: go to head down the beach, watch the sun said sunrise,
- 9:16Speaker 3: put my feet in the water, go for an ocean swim.
- 9:19Speaker 3: It's just something that is simple and we take for granted,
- 9:23Speaker 3: you know what I mean. Most of us have access
- 9:25Speaker 3: to drive for ten minutes and be able to go
- 9:26Speaker 3: to a beach. If you live where we live, like
- 9:28Speaker 3: on the coast of Australia, holy fuck, it's so grounding. Yeah,
- 9:31Speaker 3: it really really shifts my mood.
- 9:33Speaker 1: There's something about the ocean and even having a shower
- 9:36Speaker 1: about like energetically washing away the emotions. When you dive
- 9:39Speaker 1: into the ocean, you feel like you can envision actually
- 9:42Speaker 1: washing away those negative emotions or bad experiences. Even having
- 9:45Speaker 1: a shower. If I feel like anxious raps are having
- 9:47Speaker 1: a really long shower, I just imagine it just washing
- 9:49Speaker 1: down the drain and just clearing it and it is
- 9:51Speaker 1: really therapeutic. It's really nice and.
- 9:53Speaker 3: Even we're speaking this morning about the shower, because actually
- 9:56Speaker 3: I had these ideas and she's shouting out to.
- 9:57Speaker 4: Washing the shower.
- 9:58Speaker 3: Hey, hey, I don't want what even talking about it? And
- 10:00Speaker 3: I was like, do all these ideas come to you
- 10:02Speaker 3: in the.
- 10:02Speaker 4: Shower, and she's like yes.
- 10:03Speaker 3: So even if I've got a bit of brain fog
- 10:04Speaker 3: going on, you can't think clearly, jumping in a shower
- 10:08Speaker 3: is so good as well.
- 10:09Speaker 1: I don't even shut the door in a shower, Na,
- 10:13Speaker 1: I'm so comfortable that. Yeah, it was so funny. Classic
- 10:18Speaker 1: one that me and you can agree on is dancing.
- 10:20Speaker 1: And I don't mean just booking into a dance class.
- 10:22Speaker 1: Literally dance around the home, dance in your room, dance
- 10:25Speaker 1: outside in the sunshine wherever it is. Just popped the
- 10:27Speaker 1: rain in the rain we did last night. It was
- 10:29Speaker 1: so cute and fun. But like just moving your body
- 10:33Speaker 1: in that way, popping on your favorite feel good song.
- 10:36Speaker 1: It's so beautiful. But even popping on like if you're
- 10:38Speaker 1: feeling sad, like a saddest song, and just like moving
- 10:40Speaker 1: your body and letting it flow. It just feels really
- 10:42Speaker 1: really nice. And you might feel like silly, but you
- 10:45Speaker 1: know that old saying dance like nobody is watching. Lean
- 10:48Speaker 1: into that. No one gives a fuck what you're doing.
- 10:50Speaker 1: They're so focus on their own lives. Just do what
- 10:53Speaker 1: feels good for your body and see and feel how
- 10:55Speaker 1: healing that is.
- 10:56Speaker 3: And even you saying, like, put on some sad music
- 10:58Speaker 3: sometimes if you feel like you need to move through
- 11:00Speaker 3: something but you're like not letting it out and you
- 11:02Speaker 3: know it's there, be like I can't have a release.
- 11:04Speaker 3: Put on a really sad t wats a really sad
- 11:07Speaker 3: movie or something if you feel like you just like
- 11:09Speaker 3: need to like get at least.
- 11:11Speaker 1: Yeah. Oh so many Taylor Swift songs that I pop on.
- 11:14Speaker 1: I'm like it helps move you out of it. It does.
- 11:17Speaker 1: So good music. One of the top ones for me
- 11:20Speaker 1: is just talking it out with someone that I trust
- 11:23Speaker 1: and love, whether that is Steve, my mum or close girlfriends,
- 11:26Speaker 1: having a good vent, a good rant, talking about the
- 11:29Speaker 1: same situation. However many times I need you to move
- 11:32Speaker 1: through it. But just having those people that you feel
- 11:34Speaker 1: safe to and can hold the space for you so healing.
- 11:37Speaker 1: It's something I never ever take for granted. So I
- 11:40Speaker 1: really really believe in sisterhood and community and just support.
- 11:44Speaker 4: That's all you always say.
- 11:45Speaker 3: If you don't let it out and chat to someone
- 11:47Speaker 3: about it, you store it. Yeah, like you've got to
- 11:49Speaker 3: You've got to.
- 11:49Speaker 1: Move a bit. It's energy, it's blocked energy. So however
- 11:53Speaker 1: you need to move that with that's physically you're talking whatever.
- 11:56Speaker 1: Got to have your toolbox and talking to me is
- 11:58Speaker 1: a huge one. Do you ever talk to yourself?
- 12:00Speaker 4: Yeah, as in like have a whole conversation with myself.
- 12:03Speaker 1: In the car. I fully talk to myself. If someone
- 12:04Speaker 1: was looking in, they probably think I'm on the phone
- 12:06Speaker 1: to someone, but.
- 12:06Speaker 4: I actually actually talk out my head.
- 12:09Speaker 1: No, I talk out loud in the car. It is
- 12:12Speaker 1: good because I like play out situations or talk about
- 12:15Speaker 1: I'll say something, say it's a really hard conversation, I'll
- 12:18Speaker 1: say it out loud and be like, oh no, that
- 12:19Speaker 1: could come across like this, Like I actually get to
- 12:21Speaker 1: hear how it could come across. I'll think of a
- 12:24Speaker 1: better way to articulate it or like change my tone.
- 12:26Speaker 1: It really helps me. Yeah, just talking in general.
- 12:29Speaker 3: I think I think about it all I do. I
- 12:31Speaker 3: think about it in my head, but like actually role
- 12:33Speaker 3: playing and doing it out loud.
- 12:34Speaker 1: Around the car. Yeah, I'm going to really really helpful.
- 12:37Speaker 1: Go let me know.
- 12:39Speaker 3: I reial so something when I'm feeling anxious. It's funny
- 12:42Speaker 3: how you got all these different things you go to
- 12:43Speaker 3: when you're feeling different emotions toolbox babe. Yeah, like sadness,
- 12:47Speaker 3: the beach, you know, frustrated painting.
- 12:50Speaker 1: That's what we want everyone listening to this episode. We
- 12:52Speaker 1: always have an attention for episodes, whether that's to make
- 12:54Speaker 1: you laugh, learn more, expand your perspectives on different things.
- 12:59Speaker 1: This one is to help you expand your toolbox. Maybe
- 13:01Speaker 1: you haven't tried some of these things and you don't
- 13:03Speaker 1: have a toolbox yet, Like build your imaginary toolbox. So
- 13:06Speaker 1: no matter what emotion you're feeling, you've got that support
- 13:08Speaker 1: system that you've built yourself that you can turn to
- 13:10Speaker 1: and you utilize to help you navigate through the harder times.
- 13:13Speaker 4: Definitely.
- 13:14Speaker 3: So anxiety for me is reading because it just slows
- 13:18Speaker 3: me down. There's no screen, there's no brightness, It's just
- 13:20Speaker 3: me and a book. I've got to go upstairs in
- 13:23Speaker 3: the quiet. I feel like it just really calms my
- 13:26Speaker 3: nervous system. It's really slow, you're laying down, you're sitting
- 13:28Speaker 3: it not you know, like the difference with paintings, you're
- 13:30Speaker 3: actually still moving right, whereas I feel like, I don't know,
- 13:33Speaker 3: I'm just like laying down so relaxed.
- 13:36Speaker 4: I just find it so calming.
- 13:38Speaker 1: So good. Reading really is if I'm really upset though,
- 13:41Speaker 1: I feel like I'm reading the pages that I'm not
- 13:43Speaker 1: taking it in beause if you can'pset because I'm too
- 13:45Speaker 1: in my head. Yeah, okay, it's such a relaxing thing
- 13:47Speaker 1: to do.
- 13:48Speaker 3: I feel like reading you need to kind of do
- 13:50Speaker 3: it for a bit of a stint. I feel like
- 13:51Speaker 3: if you sit down, you're like, I'm going to read
- 13:52Speaker 3: for ten minutes. No, it takes like ten to twenty
- 13:55Speaker 3: minutes to like get into it.
- 13:56Speaker 1: That's my problem.
- 13:57Speaker 4: It's like an hour to read.
- 13:59Speaker 1: Yeah, that's my problem. And finding that hour to do
- 14:01Speaker 1: it I'm finding hard. But once I'm in it, I
- 14:05Speaker 1: love it. Yeah, so good. Another one which we've spoken
- 14:09Speaker 1: about so much, how much it's really helped us over
- 14:11Speaker 1: the years, is having a psychologist or a coach to
- 14:14Speaker 1: help you navigate different things. We were talking about this
- 14:16Speaker 1: the other day because I stopped seeing Taylor for a
- 14:18Speaker 1: little while now. He moved his clinic down to Kira,
- 14:21Speaker 1: which is just a little bit more of a drive
- 14:23Speaker 1: for me. And I've also been with him for years now,
- 14:26Speaker 1: and sometimes not that I've outgrown him, because I always
- 14:29Speaker 1: learned so much from him, but sometimes I feel like
- 14:30Speaker 1: I like to see different coaches for different reasons. And
- 14:33Speaker 1: then I started to seeing Megsie for my inner child healings,
- 14:35Speaker 1: and then she had Little Rambo, so we haven't picked
- 14:37Speaker 1: that back up again. But I love to talk to coaches.
- 14:40Speaker 1: I feel like they really expand my mind and help
- 14:43Speaker 1: me see things from a different perspective I might not
- 14:45Speaker 1: have ever heard even Katie Ford like her analogies crack
- 14:48Speaker 1: me up. Yeah, and the way if I go to
- 14:50Speaker 1: her with a problem, she'll literally say something so simple
- 14:53Speaker 1: and be like, oh, well, well but da da da,
- 14:55Speaker 1: and I'm just be like, WHOA, I never thought of
- 14:56Speaker 1: it that simply when she brings like comedy into our session,
- 15:00Speaker 1: so something I'm upset about, she'll make me laugh about it,
- 15:03Speaker 1: and then I'm like, that's actually nowhere near as bad
- 15:05Speaker 1: is what I thought it was.
- 15:06Speaker 3: It's so true, and she's funny, so good. She's so
- 15:09Speaker 3: good at just being like fuck what everyone else thinks. Yeah,
- 15:12Speaker 3: she's like just the pick me up gal.
- 15:13Speaker 1: We were talking because in the forum someone asked for
- 15:17Speaker 1: my recommendations on coaches and I listed Taylor, her, Megsie,
- 15:22Speaker 1: and Brad, but they were all for different reasons. Yeah,
- 15:26Speaker 1: and Katie is our pick me up confidence women empowerment,
- 15:29Speaker 1: like I didn't give a fuck, You've got this, you
- 15:31Speaker 1: can do anything, like really big confidence booster. I love
- 15:35Speaker 1: how she brings comedy into the sessions. Yeah, that really
- 15:38Speaker 1: lists me up and makes me think, Oh, is it
- 15:40Speaker 1: that serious? Does it have to feel that heavy? No,
- 15:42Speaker 1: I'm kind of making it heavy than what it needs
- 15:44Speaker 1: to be. And if I can bring light into the shadow,
- 15:46Speaker 1: which is the goal for it all, Yeah, cool, it
- 15:48Speaker 1: helps me just move through it a bit quicker. Yeah.
- 15:51Speaker 1: So she's really good for that.
- 15:52Speaker 4: She is really good for that.
- 15:53Speaker 1: Whereas Taylor's like he's very in depth and very logical,
- 15:59Speaker 1: but just the way he connects the mind, body and
- 16:01Speaker 1: spirit altogether, and just his wisdom and experience working with
- 16:05Speaker 1: so many different humans and is deeper understanding on so
- 16:08Speaker 1: many different topics. Yeah, it's really interesting. Like anything I
- 16:11Speaker 1: go to him with he will have answers to, but
- 16:14Speaker 1: the way he explains it and say, LEVI, he's another
- 16:17Speaker 1: layer on top of that. He does trauma coaching. Yeah,
- 16:19Speaker 1: and his sessions are not an hour, they're not two hours,
- 16:22Speaker 1: they're not three hours, they're four, five, six hour sessions because.
- 16:25Speaker 3: He is going to book in with him and I
- 16:27Speaker 3: was like, I don't think I can commit to that
- 16:28Speaker 3: right now.
- 16:29Speaker 1: He is getting to the depth of depth layers. And
- 16:31Speaker 1: I saw a post from him the other day saying
- 16:33Speaker 1: that like, if your therapist can't help you fix your
- 16:36Speaker 1: problems in that six month period, I was like, Oh,
- 16:39Speaker 1: I haven't heard anyone say that, But that's how confident
- 16:41Speaker 1: he is in his sessions that he can get to
- 16:43Speaker 1: the depth of what is causing it in that timeframe. Yeah,
- 16:47Speaker 1: Whereas sometimes when you just chat things out, feels good
- 16:49Speaker 1: and fluffy or whatever, but you haven't actually got to
- 16:51Speaker 1: the root of where it's come from. Whereas I don't
- 16:53Speaker 1: know his technique. I've never been coached by him. I
- 16:54Speaker 1: would like to one day, but yeah, it's quite a
- 16:57Speaker 1: big commitment.
- 16:57Speaker 3: When I spoke to him, he was so honest and
- 16:59Speaker 3: I really appreciated it. I was like, hey, like, this
- 17:01Speaker 3: is where I'm at, this is what I want to
- 17:03Speaker 3: work through, and he was like, Okay, well I need
- 17:04Speaker 3: you to be one hundred and ten percent committed. So
- 17:06Speaker 3: it's like, what do you have on right now? Because
- 17:07Speaker 3: he's like, if you've got ten different things going on
- 17:09Speaker 3: and you don't have the capacity you need to take
- 17:11Speaker 3: them on. No, he's like, you need to be all in.
- 17:12Speaker 3: So it's like how long are the coaching sessions for
- 17:14Speaker 3: and he's like, yeah, sometimes you might be there for
- 17:16Speaker 3: four hours. Sometimes I'm like, fuck, I'm not in this
- 17:18Speaker 3: season right now. And that's what I said to him,
- 17:19Speaker 3: like I'd love to do this one day, but right
- 17:21Speaker 3: now with where I'm at.
- 17:22Speaker 1: And it's thousands of dollars, like it's an investment, which
- 17:25Speaker 1: I think, like is so worth it, but for some
- 17:27Speaker 1: people that's not in the position to be out of pay.
- 17:30Speaker 3: Well even anxiety like trying to move finding where the
- 17:33Speaker 3: core of everything's come from.
- 17:35Speaker 1: Yeah, I'd love to do it, and I will do
- 17:36Speaker 1: it with him. He's got a waiting list of like
- 17:38Speaker 1: eight people at the moment, but I would love to
- 17:40Speaker 1: do that with him. But I need to put myself
- 17:41Speaker 1: on waiting this. But I'd love to experience and see
- 17:44Speaker 1: the systems. He's actually going to be teaching people to
- 17:46Speaker 1: do what he does.
- 17:48Speaker 4: That's cool.
- 17:48Speaker 1: Which is going to be really really cool, so he
- 17:50Speaker 1: can take on more people and have other people assist.
- 17:52Speaker 1: But whatever he does, it will amazing. So yeah, every
- 17:56Speaker 1: coach and every therapist is going to have their different techniques.
- 17:58Speaker 1: But that's what I love about life coaches is they've
- 18:01Speaker 1: figured out their own individual way and their own flair
- 18:03Speaker 1: to do it. Was I feel like pichologist has studied
- 18:06Speaker 1: and they've got the textbook way to do things. Because
- 18:08Speaker 1: I feel like live coaches they've gone through their own
- 18:11Speaker 1: experience and coach so many people, they've got their own
- 18:13Speaker 1: way to do it. It's every coach I've seen this so
- 18:15Speaker 1: fucking different. Yeah, so individualized, and depending on what I'm
- 18:18Speaker 1: going through, I'll turn to a different one for a
- 18:20Speaker 1: different reason.
- 18:21Speaker 4: That's it.
- 18:21Speaker 3: And I think I always say this, but I think
- 18:23Speaker 3: the way that they did it initially was really really great.
- 18:25Speaker 3: How I saw a psychologist kind of unpack the shit
- 18:27Speaker 3: and you know what you need to work on, then
- 18:28Speaker 3: you take that to your coach. Like that's what I
- 18:30Speaker 3: love because I feel like the coaches they push you forward.
- 18:32Speaker 3: You have that progression of like okay, you dig all
- 18:35Speaker 3: the stuff up, and then you're like they help you
- 18:37Speaker 3: move through it, whereas I feel like psychologists you kin't
- 18:40Speaker 3: of keep revisiting.
- 18:41Speaker 1: Or a soundboard sometimes.
- 18:42Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 18:43Speaker 1: Yeah, not saying they're all like that, but I didn't
- 18:45Speaker 1: find I had any progress. Yeah, I don't talk about
- 18:49Speaker 1: it anymore. I want to like move through this, like
- 18:50Speaker 1: help me find the tools.
- 18:51Speaker 3: Yeah, she initially for me, helped me find out my shiitt.
- 18:54Speaker 3: So I feel like I had so much to learn
- 18:55Speaker 3: about myself that I was like, oh okay, So now
- 18:57Speaker 3: when I go to a coach, I can be like
- 18:58Speaker 3: I really need to work on this.
- 18:59Speaker 1: Yes, yeah, good, yeah, and we always talk about it.
- 19:02Speaker 1: It's like dating. Yeah, like which coach I go to?
- 19:04Speaker 1: I'm like, what's dating? You have to who I really
- 19:06Speaker 1: connect with you might fucking hate. You got to find
- 19:08Speaker 1: who you connect with and who you vibe with. And
- 19:10Speaker 1: there's different coaches like Megsie for example, specializes in nervous
- 19:14Speaker 1: system regulation, feminine energy, motherhood trauma like sisterhood wounds, and
- 19:21Speaker 1: in child wheeling. Yeah, like that's her specialty. That's what
- 19:23Speaker 1: she is really fucking good at, was say Katie, as
- 19:26Speaker 1: we said, she's good for her stuff. Yeah, yeah, every
- 19:29Speaker 1: coach is different for different reasons. So depending on what
- 19:31Speaker 1: I'm feeling, I'll booking with different particular people.
- 19:33Speaker 4: Yeah, I feel like a lot of people don't know that.
- 19:36Speaker 1: No, do you think? Yeah, that's why I want to
- 19:38Speaker 1: explain it. And I'm packing a bit more. Listening to
- 19:40Speaker 1: a good party, shameless plug, go and go, having.
- 19:44Speaker 3: A podcast, whether it's to laugh, learn or level up, yes,
- 19:48Speaker 3: but honestly.
- 19:49Speaker 1: On a Monday, Wednesday or a Friday.
- 19:52Speaker 3: But having a podcast to throw on and sometimes if
- 19:55Speaker 3: I feel like I want to escape, have a giggle,
- 19:57Speaker 3: have a laugh, like holy fuck, that was the funniest
- 19:59Speaker 3: thing that made me laugh, like the most out of
- 20:01Speaker 3: my day today.
- 20:01Speaker 4: If you're having a real serious day, or.
- 20:03Speaker 3: Put something on and be like wow, that's so cool,
- 20:05Speaker 3: Like I've just learned this new thing about myself. Or
- 20:08Speaker 3: to search something and start to understand why you're feeling
- 20:10Speaker 3: certain ways, and you know, help you to unpack yourself,
- 20:13Speaker 3: like on your own journey and just you know, discover
- 20:16Speaker 3: who you are and yeah, give.
- 20:18Speaker 4: You more tools for your toolbox.
- 20:19Speaker 3: Like even this podcast episode, Like if I was listening
- 20:21Speaker 3: to this and I was in a funk, I'm like, wow,
- 20:23Speaker 3: I've just got so many takeaways away.
- 20:25Speaker 1: What I really love about podcasts is people are their
- 20:27Speaker 1: authentic selves. I'm very authentic on all of my social media,
- 20:31Speaker 1: so you we've been on their for years. You would
- 20:33Speaker 1: not be able to do the job we do unless
- 20:34Speaker 1: you are being yourself. People would see straight through your bullshit.
- 20:37Speaker 1: You would be exhausted from wearing a mask. It just
- 20:38Speaker 1: wouldn't work. You have to be yourself. A few want
- 20:40Speaker 1: to stay in this game long term. However, we have
- 20:43Speaker 1: this conversation often there is a different level of openness
- 20:47Speaker 1: on a podcast. Yeah, there's things we talk about on
- 20:49Speaker 1: here that we never talk about in any other platforms
- 20:51Speaker 1: and always don't feel safe to. I know there's something
- 20:53Speaker 1: about being in this space, and I.
- 20:56Speaker 4: Think having each other too.
- 20:57Speaker 1: Yeah, but just connecting with the audience in a different realm,
- 21:00Speaker 1: and I feel like other podcasters that I listen to,
- 21:03Speaker 1: I feel and more connected to them on their po
- 21:05Speaker 1: and any other thing. Like even say Jay Shetty, like
- 21:07Speaker 1: love a lot of his episodes, but if I go
- 21:09Speaker 1: on to social media, I don't really get much out
- 21:11Speaker 1: of it. Same with the Diary of a CEO, Like
- 21:13Speaker 1: I love his episodes with his guests, but I can't
- 21:16Speaker 1: say I'll look at his Instagram I'm like, oh, I
- 21:18Speaker 1: took something away from that.
- 21:19Speaker 4: So much more in depth.
- 21:20Speaker 1: Yeah, and personal life. You can exactly see the topic
- 21:23Speaker 1: of what you're going to be learning about. Literally anything
- 21:25Speaker 1: you want to learn about. There is hundreds of thousands
- 21:28Speaker 1: of podcasters and podcasts episodes that you can listen to
- 21:31Speaker 1: just so free at the end of your fingertips.
- 21:33Speaker 4: So amazing.
- 21:34Speaker 1: How cool is that all the stuff you get for
- 21:35Speaker 1: free on podcasts? So cool. Spending time with my family. Yeah, honestly,
- 21:41Speaker 1: as high energy as children are. When I'm just with
- 21:44Speaker 1: my kids with nothing else to do but be with them,
- 21:46Speaker 1: there is nothing more calming for me, Yeah, and fun
- 21:50Speaker 1: and enjoyable than just spending quality time with them. I
- 21:53Speaker 1: look forward to it every day when I finish work.
- 21:55Speaker 1: I look forward to everyone on the weekend with them.
- 21:57Speaker 1: I just love it.
- 21:58Speaker 3: Yeah. We're just speaking this morning about like how much
- 22:00Speaker 3: we enjoy Sundays, just like have a slower day, being
- 22:03Speaker 3: your pj's, have extra custines.
- 22:05Speaker 1: Are at a couple of birthday parties booked in.
- 22:07Speaker 3: One just case We're two on Sunday and then one
- 22:10Speaker 3: and I was like, I'm not gonna lie, I'm not
- 22:11Speaker 3: mad about it.
- 22:12Speaker 1: Nuts whenever we get invites to kids' birthday parties, Steve's like,
- 22:15Speaker 1: oh do we have to go? And like if your
- 22:17Speaker 1: kid loves that, kid like fun. But on a Sunday that's.
- 22:22Speaker 4: Two back to backs, like the whole day's gone. Whole days.
- 22:25Speaker 1: Literally, you feel like you just s out if you
- 22:27Speaker 1: don't get that family day. It's such a recharging, slow, connecting,
- 22:30Speaker 1: wholesome day.
- 22:31Speaker 3: Beautiful, and especially when we've been up here for a
- 22:32Speaker 3: couple of days of the potty, like you want to
- 22:34Speaker 3: just hang with your fan.
- 22:35Speaker 1: Yeah, definitely, just any weekend though, I like, I just
- 22:39Speaker 1: love weekends. Yeah, and then the last one for me
- 22:41Speaker 1: would just be eating beautiful food and like looking after
- 22:43Speaker 1: my bodyishing, really nourishing it, because I think for most
- 22:46Speaker 1: of us, we can turn to take away or like
- 22:49Speaker 1: for meats, sugar, to comfort eat and to distract and
- 22:52Speaker 1: to numb out. Like I don't drink alcohol or take
- 22:54Speaker 1: any drugs or anything, but definitely sometimes use food, and
- 22:57Speaker 1: I'm super hyper aware of that I'm doing it, and
- 22:59Speaker 1: sometimes I just get in this like funk of continue
- 23:02Speaker 1: to eat it for the short term satisfaction and distraction,
- 23:06Speaker 1: but long term it's not going to make you feel good,
- 23:09Speaker 1: it's actually gonna make you feel worse. You're gonna feel headache,
- 23:12Speaker 1: you gonna feel lower energy. It's just not a healthy
- 23:15Speaker 1: coping mechanism. No, to nourish your body, feed it with nutrients,
- 23:19Speaker 1: lots of live foods, like lots of colors, things you enjoy.
- 23:23Speaker 1: But that just helped your body feel more alive.
- 23:25Speaker 3: And you pick up one or two of these things,
- 23:27Speaker 3: and we always say this, it's the role on effect
- 23:29Speaker 3: for the rest of the day. If you go for
- 23:30Speaker 3: a walk and you get a bit of sunshine and
- 23:32Speaker 3: you listen to a pick me up while you're doing
- 23:33Speaker 3: your makeup, you want to come home and you're gonna
- 23:35Speaker 3: want to make a yummy, healthy breakfast.
- 23:38Speaker 1: Yeah, it's a roll on. It is like you just
- 23:41Speaker 1: said it on your walk. This three bang like that
- 23:42Speaker 1: done d day. Yeah so good. We really hope this
- 23:45Speaker 1: picked you up and we hope you can take a
- 23:47Speaker 1: lot of these tools and put them in into your toolbox.
- 23:50Speaker 1: Thanks for joining us and we'll see you next week.
- 23:52Speaker 4: Bye bye.
