Harry Enten on Tennessee special election - The quote "'A huge, huge shift to the left'"
The quote "'A huge, huge shift to the left'" was used by CNN senior data reporter Harry Enten to describe the potential margin shift in the December 2025 special election for Tennessee's 7th Congressional District, not that the district itself was shifting to the left in absolute terms.
Enten made the comments based on pre-election predictions and historical data from previous special elections in 2025, which showed a consistent pattern of Democrats outperforming their expected performance based on past results, such as the 2024 Presidential election results in those districts.
