- 0:00Happy New Year, Team Tolerator. It's Natalie and as always, this last
- 0:05episode of the month is our Patreon ten minute teaser. This episode is all
- 0:11about Julia Washington and I's yearly tradition of getting our vision boards together, setting
- 0:18our intentions, all of our little rituals that we do that we then share
- 0:22with you our Patreon members. You can get access to this full episode by
- 0:27joining our ten dollars or our twenty dollars tier. Just so you're aware,
- 0:33the audio for this episode does have some glitching on my part. I believe
- 0:39that during soundcheck and all the tech prep I did for the Misogynist of the
- 0:43Year ceremony meant that when we were recording this episode, things got jostled or
- 0:48loosed, and I apologize, but as always, appreciate your patience with the
- 0:53process. Speaking of the Misogynist of the Year Award, you can get access
- 0:58to that recording and video recording by joining any of our three paid tears on
- 1:06Patreon. There is still a seven day free trial running and that link is
- 1:11in our show notes for January. For the Misogynist of the Year Award,
- 1:15we opened it up to every Patreon member by including everyone in the Misogynist of
- 1:21the Year Award. Starting in February, the Misogyny Meltdown will be exclusive to
- 1:26our twenty dollars tier that is named after the Misogyny Meltdown. In February on
- 1:32Patreon, there will be paid and free bonus content on the idea of self
- 1:38love and self care being part of the resistance and the revolution. I'm excited
- 1:44to share all of that work with you. Enjoy the teaser and please feel
- 1:48free to check out all of the free and free trial content on Patreon.
- 1:53There is also an article and we will only be making the announcement on who
- 1:59won the Misogynist of the Year award on Patreon. The article detailing who won
- 2:06is part of our free tier, so make sure to follow that link in
- 2:09the bio. Have a great day, Okay, Julia, we did it.
- 2:37We made it through twenty twenty three against all odds. Who I will
- 2:44say? I will say that, not that I have actually flipped over my
- 2:50vision board from last year to look at it and be like, did I
- 2:53accomplish things? I feel like you and I did enough check ins throughout the
- 2:57year where I was like, I did accomplish Yeah. Yeah. It helps
- 3:01to have somebody to keep you like to be like, hey, these are
- 3:05the things blah blah blah. Yeah, I traveled, how this go?
- 3:10Yeah? I traveled, I wrote scripts. I found some kick ass communities.
- 3:19I think what I really loved drop the ball on was my home.
- 3:23I did not make my home or organized or pretty. Oh. I was
- 3:29like, what did you want to do with your home? And now I
- 3:31okay, organized and pretty? I understand, not because I've been in your
- 3:36home, but because, like I have several rooms that still boxes from when
- 3:39I moved in twenty twenty two. Yeah, and now that we're back here
- 3:44for our twenty twenty four Intentions and Goals and Manifestations episode, I need you
- 3:52to know that my home didn't even make it on the vision board. I'm
- 3:55like, I don't even care what am I supposed to do. It's just
- 4:00a place. You're like, you know what, next year, it's just
- 4:02a place to lay my head. This isn't gonna be my sanctuary. Right.
- 4:06I'm bad at this. I'm bad at home organization, I'm bad at
- 4:13home staging. And our one friend who's good at that lives plane rides away
- 4:18and yeah, now my mother has so much going on that I don't know
- 4:24she's going to be able to make the trip to help me, So it's
- 4:27just not going to happen, and that's fine. And if it does happen,
- 4:32it'll be a treat. It'll be a little treat, A little treat.
- 4:38I mean, I taught my I like relearned how to watercolor from YouTube.
- 4:43Though. Hell yeah. I just feel like, maybe if you ever
- 4:48found yourself board one day, you qu you two and I could listen to
- 4:55Carly's podcast more about tidying, I could and get an actually intake the tips
- 5:00instead of just being like I love Carly. I love the sound Carl's voice.
- 5:05Carli is so soothing. She really is, she really is. Yeah,
- 5:11but I'm supposed to be learning something and I just refuse to by osmosis.
- 5:15It'll it'll settle in at some point. I feel like I tell Carly
- 5:18every time I throw something away, like it was hard, Like, hey,
- 5:20I got rid of my boxes today. Okay, friend, we're millennials.
- 5:26We're supposed to keep boxes. I love boxes. And then Kelly told
- 5:32us that, like we'll use trash for art, and I was like,
- 5:35I knew I've been keeping these boxes for some reason. I knew it.
- 5:41We're millennials. We'll use trash for urt. We're millennials. We can only
- 5:45afford trash for art. All right, Do we want to start with vision
- 5:51boards? I haven't finished mine yet, Okay, all right, because here's
- 5:59why I've been writing down all the things I want on the piece of paper
- 6:04and finding an image that sort of corresponds with that want. I love that.
- 6:11I love that, as you know, that was my journey last year
- 6:15and lived here. When I sat down to do my vision board, I
- 6:19realized that during a manic cleaning session, and this is why I don't clean,
- 6:25I threw out all of my magazines. And I'm a collage artist.
- 6:28Who the hell let me throw those out? Girl? I wasn't there.
- 6:31You didn't consult me? Who was like Nafley? No, wait, Natally
- 6:36wi a maybe? And I understand that I have like a year's worth of
- 6:43People magazine, So I was like, I'm going to hang on to this.
- 6:46But I did find a nice tidy space for them to live. All
- 6:49I have are bird magazines, and like, I love birds. And I'm
- 6:55so glad that someone thought of me when it came to giving me. That's
- 7:00a sair. Yeah, they're magazines that were laying around their house. But
- 7:05also like, birds are going to ever represent my goals. I'm not Nellie
- 7:11Fercado. Birds freaked me out. Oh I'm like a boy. I'll start
- 7:19with my vision board. You can you can talk about what you're what you're
- 7:23thinking. My vision board. It's right here. It's really beautiful, and
- 7:28I'll post pictures of it on pijon. Did I put my own podcast logo
- 7:33on it? Yeah? They're not. Yeah, the city right there,
- 7:39And I was like, there you go. So I really hit one thing
- 7:46very hard. I realized that this is actually hard for you to see.
- 7:47You actually have a photo of it on your phone, But that's that's true.
- 7:54I should pull that up. Yeah, okay, there's one thing that
- 7:57really hit hard and focused on. And luckily my tarot readings, which we
- 8:01can get into, also align with this. I only filled my vision board
- 8:07up with my god if I'm not going to commit to being a comedy writer
- 8:13this year, like I put on women who are funny, women who are
- 8:20very very successful, women who are successful despite all of the bullshit. So
- 8:26I feel like that like plays into our new series Misogyny Meltdown, where I'm
- 8:30going to be going deep on some things, but also being comedic about some
- 8:35of the misogyny that we have going on. Why is Rigie on your vision
- 8:43board? That's from the D and D movie. So he's part of the
- 8:46Critical Role Dimension twenty section. Okay, that makes sense. Yeah, if
- 8:52you notice Chris Pine. So I thought that it was actually a larger photo
- 8:56of Chris Pine, my gay auntie Chris Pine. But it's not. It's
- 9:03actually a picture of him, even though the article was about Chris Pine.
- 9:07So that was confusing, and that's why I overlooked at first, and then
- 9:11I was like, where's my picture of the D and D movie with Chris
- 9:13Pie. So yes, because the comedy writing and the making sketches and the
- 9:20actual like leaning into I have skills. They need to be practiced, they
- 9:24need to be honed, will eventually lead me to the promised land, which
- 9:28is working for Dropout TV, working for Critical Role, making friends with all
- 9:33of the people I admire in a friendship versuless to Di gen Con so like
- 9:39all of the so like Taylor Swift and Beyonce and Pink and Jamie Lee Curtis,
- 9:45because she represents all of the things I loved most about my grandma.
- 9:50They're like the base. They're the women who like truly hold me up and
- 9:54are like, no, you can do this, you can live successfully.
- 9:58And people and bots that our maskin as trolls will tell you that you're a
- 10:03dirty bitch or whatever, and you just keep doing it and then one day
- 10:07you'll be rich because you're so funny. Yeah I love that, yeah yeah.
- 10:13And then so they're building me up, and then we have some women
- 10:20in comedy, women on mics. Then we have like our D and D
- 10:24section, and then we have an artistic section. Because I only made friendship
- 10:30bracelets in twenty twenty three, I don't know if we noticed, oh do
- 10:39anything else. I truly would prep canvases because Annie told me she goes,
- 10:45the easiest way to get back into painting is to prep the canvases, so
- 10:48then when you're ready to do it, you can do it and it's not
- 10:52the mundane part first, and she goes, and it's an easy way to
- 10:56get back into the habit of like cleaning brushes, getting stuff and realizing that
- 11:01that's not actually like a mountain to climb, right, I would prep canvases
- 11:07and then be like guess, I'm done, and then just go right back
- 11:09to streaming bracelets. That was the task for the day. That was the
- 11:13task for the day. So I would like to get back into painting I
- 11:18have right now. I'm starting small. And I recently realized that one of
- 11:26my sketchbook journals was actually an unfinished one, but because I had filled up
- 11:31another one, I had to like start writing in this one before the collage
- 11:35pages were done. And what I do is I like arrange stickers and magazine
- 11:41not magazine clippings anymore, because I threw those all away, right, but
- 11:46I arranged them so I don't ever have to face a blank page. And
- 11:50during my twenty twenty three inventory, I was like, did I just face
- 11:54a blank page? Absolutely not. So I've been like taking my journal out
- 12:00while I watched to Mention twenty every night and like arranging pretty stickers and paper
- 12:05and stuff to then make it prepped so I can do So I've done my
- 12:11twenty twenty three like inventory of good things, and now I have to do
- 12:16like what's next, like what's coming up next? And then I'll have to
- 12:18do like a release of some kind, like what are we saying goodbye to
- 12:22from twenty twenty three, because it was a little bit of a motherfucker
