- 0:00Cherie Ashana: You're listening to the Sacred She Reset podcast.
- 0:04If you're a woman in midlife who's done doing this alone and
- 0:08ready for real conversations, real wisdom, and real radiance,
- 0:13you're exactly where you need to be. I'm your host Sharia Shana.
- 0:17Your path to radiance starts here. Welcome back to the Sacred
- 0:27She Reset, awakening your radiant wisdom. I'm Sharia
- 0:32Shani, your host, and I am so excited to be with you again.
- 0:37Over the first four episodes, we're on our fifth now. I've
- 0:42been sharing about the journey that's brought me here.
- 0:44So, if you've been following along, I shared with you about
- 0:48the years where my body felt like it was being managed rather
- 0:52than understood, and then the turning point I reached where I
- 0:56had to start learning how to listen, and then I shared with
- 1:00you there about the framework that came out of that big
- 1:04journey of the turning point and all the surgeries and all the
- 1:08things that have been happening in my life, and the framework
- 1:12that came out of that-the four pillars of radiance-that helped
- 1:15me through and supported me through as I watched these
- 1:18patterns and what I learned, and we also dived deeper into when
- 1:25when we when we have this belief, this internal belief
- 1:29around saying I've tried everything and nothing works for
- 1:32me, and then also the external pressures that keep us saying
- 1:38that there's no room for me. So we dived into a little bit about
- 1:41time and and money there as well in the last episode, and so in
- 1:45all of those we've been shifting the narrative and just having
- 1:48this little journey with ourselves to unlock what might
- 1:52be sitting deeper deeper in there and what we can learn.
- 1:56But today I want to look forward. I want to look speaking
- 2:00to the woman waiting beyond survival, and she's not a
- 2:05perfect woman, and she's definitely not endlessly
- 2:08positive. She's not a she's not a woman that solved every
- 2:13problem and balanced every hormone and healed every wound
- 2:18and color coded her entire life before breakfast. There's none
- 2:21of that going on here today. I want to speak about the radiant
- 2:26woman and what it means to be radiant, and this is the woman
- 2:31who no longer is willing to disappear from herself. And so,
- 2:37what I want to just recap and reframe from and remember from
- 2:42the past episodes is from my story. I really would like you
- 2:46to remember your body is not the interruption. She is a part of
- 2:53the invitation. From the four pillars, I would love you to
- 2:57remember you are a whole woman. Your physical health, emotions,
- 3:01joy, relationships, voice, and sense of meaning are connected.
- 3:08And from our conversation around self trust, I'd love you to
- 3:11remember: you do not have to believe in the entire path. You
- 3:16need only remain in relationship with yourself as you take the
- 3:20next honest step, and then from our conversation about time and
- 3:25money, I'd love you to remember your needs are not the
- 3:30disposable part of your life. You are not selfish for
- 3:35requiring space. You are human. So let's push this out and look
- 3:43at look at a bigger vision here. Take a wider view, and so my
- 3:47vision is for women to stop reaching midlife believing their
- 3:51most vital years are behind them. I want us to really change
- 3:57that story and start looking at it through through a different
- 4:00lens, and for too long, we as women we have been taught to
- 4:05view aging primarily through loss, and so it's that loss of
- 4:10beauty, loss of youth, fidelity, energy, desirability. But then
- 4:17remember that midlife also brings discernment, clarity,
- 4:22courage, creativity, freedom, leadership, a deep relationship
- 4:27with truth, the willingness to stop negotiating with what no
- 4:33longer fits, and as I know, and as some of you know, a lot of
- 4:40you know depends where you are on your journey. Menopause can
- 4:43be physically and emotionally challenging, and it's different
- 4:46for all of us. It deserves appropriate support and honest
- 4:51conversation, and I dive into all of this in my my recently
- 4:56released book, Sacred She Reset. But it. Is not proof that women,
- 5:01that us as women, that our life force is disappearing. Like
- 5:06where's where's the data on that? Sometimes it is the moment
- 5:11when everything she has suppressed, postponed, or
- 5:14tolerated begins asking to be acknowledged. This is not a
- 5:20decline.
- 5:21This is an awakening. So who who is the radiant woman? The
- 5:29radiate the radiant woman is not a woman who never struggles.
- 5:34That's that's an impossible, unsustainable achievement. She
- 5:39is a woman who nong no longer abandons herself when struggle
- 5:42arrives. She knows how to pause. She notices when her body is
- 5:48whispering. She allows herself to ask for support. She does not
- 5:54measure strength only by how much she can endure. She speaks
- 5:59with great honesty. She's learning not to apologize for
- 6:05every need, boundary, opinion, or change of heart. She
- 6:11understands that a boundary is not a wall against love. It is
- 6:16often what allows it. It is often what allows love to remain
- 6:21honest. She makes decisions from self-trust rather than constant
- 6:27approval seeking, and she may still feel fear, but fear is no
- 6:33longer the only voice at the table.
- 6:36She allows joy to matter, not only once the work is finished,
- 6:42not only when everything else is happy, now she creates, she
- 6:48travels, she rests, leads, learns, loves, begins again. She
- 6:57also understands that menopause is not one universal experience.
- 7:01She listens to her own body rather than measuring herself
- 7:04against another woman's woman's timeline. She recognizes that
- 7:08her wisdom has been shaped by everything she has lived. Her
- 7:14experience is not baggage she must hide. It is Material,
- 7:21medicine, leadership, legacy. So let's dive into a little bit
- 7:28about relationships. The radiant woman begins changing how she
- 7:33participates in relationships. She no longer confuses love with
- 7:37self erasure. She does not automatically carry the entire
- 7:43emotional atmosphere. She becomes curious about where she
- 7:47has overfunctioned, where she has said yes while meaning no,
- 7:53where she has protected others from the consequences of their
- 7:56own choices. This does not mean she becomes cold. It means her
- 8:04love becomes more truthful. She learns that belonging should not
- 8:11require abandoning herself, and when it comes to work and
- 8:17purpose, she also reconsiders her relationship with work.
- 8:22Perhaps she still has enormous ambition.
- 8:27Perhaps she wants to build, create, contribute, and lead.
- 8:31Radiance is not asking her to become smaller. It is asking her
- 8:36to stop sacrificing herself to prove that she is powerful. She
- 8:41begins building success that includes her well-being. She
- 8:46questions the idea that rest makes her less committed. She
- 8:51recognizes that her work can emerge from rhythm rather than
- 8:55constant urgency. Midlife may ask her to change careers, begin
- 9:02a business, write a book, launch a podcast, return to art,
- 9:07travel, teach, mentor, or simply redefine what is meaningful.
- 9:13What a meaningful life looks like. There is no single correct
- 9:17expression of becoming. Creativity and voice. Many women
- 9:24arrive in midlife with a voice that has been carefully edited.
- 9:29They have learned how to speak in ways that keep the room
- 9:32comfortable, how to soften, qualify, apologize, avoid
- 9:39appearing too demanding, emotional, ambitious, or
- 9:42visible, the radiant woman begins reclaiming expression.
- 9:47She sings, she writes, speaks, shares her story, says what says
- 9:53what she means, allows herself to be witnessed, not because
- 9:59every. Things she says will be perfect because silence is no
- 10:03longer the price she is willing to pay for belonging. The
- 10:11movement behind sacred she reset.
- 10:14This podcast you're listening to today is a part of a much bigger
- 10:18vision, a vision where women in midlife do not have to navigate
- 10:22these changes alone. Where conversations about menopause
- 10:27include whole women, where health includes body wisdom,
- 10:32healing includes compassion, happiness includes joy and
- 10:36expression, heart includes boundaries, belonging, and
- 10:40sacred connection. I want sacred Shi reset to become a gathering
- 10:46place, a place where lived experience matters, where
- 10:51experts can share wisdom without replacing the listener's inner
- 10:54authority, where women hear stories that help them recognize
- 10:59themselves, where we can speak honestly about grief, desire,
- 11:03identity, aging, relationships, creativity, purpose in the body,
- 11:08and where no woman is asking to become a polished version of
- 11:11herself before she is allowed to belong. So, what's next? In the
- 11:17episodes ahead, we will explore why rest does not always create
- 11:22restoration. How capable women become trapped in chronic
- 11:27self-override. Menopause and the loss or recovery of identity.
- 11:33The nervous system and the body's need for safety.
- 11:36Boundaries without guilt. Voice and self-expression. Joy as a
- 11:41form of alignment. Joy, joy, joy. Relationships in
- 11:46midlife-that's a really good one. I can't wait for that.
- 11:50Creativity, purpose, and reinvention. Embodied and
- 11:54holistic practices to help women return to themselves.
- 11:59We will hear solo episodes from me, conversations with
- 12:02practitioners, teachers, and experts, and stories from women
- 12:06who are living through their own becoming. Some episodes will
- 12:10give you information, some will give you language, some will
- 12:15give you practices, and some may simply remind you that you are
- 12:18not the only woman asking these questions. So my invitation to
- 12:23you today: this podcast is not asking you to become someone
- 12:27else. It is inviting you to stop becoming less of yourself. You
- 12:32do not need to wait until you have more energy, more
- 12:35confidence, more clarity, more time. You begin where you are.
- 12:39Perhaps today, becoming looks like rest. Tomorrow it may look
- 12:44like speaking. Next month it may look like leaving something
- 12:48behind. There is no race. There is no perfect timeline. There is
- 12:54only the relationship you build with the woman you are now.
- 12:59So my reflection for you today, beautiful woman, I'd love you to
- 13:03ask yourself: Who am I becoming when I no longer organize my
- 13:06life around self-abandonment? How do you speak? How? What do
- 13:14you? What do you tolerate? What do you protect? What brings you
- 13:20alive? What do you know now that you could not have known 20
- 13:28years ago? Like that's a that's a big one. Like if I look back
- 13:32on where I was in my 20s, you do not just need to see her
- 13:39completely. Perhaps you only sense her. That is enough.
- 13:44Radiance is revealed before it is truly understood. And so
- 13:50today, ladies, this is a shout out to join me in the community
- 13:57in the sacred sea reset circle, and I'd love you to continue
- 14:05following this journey with the. I've got some amazing interviews
- 14:08lined up, some beautiful people coming in that you are just
- 14:11going to love and enjoy so much. And I would love it if you just
- 14:18share in the comments or in the circle, if you're feeling brave,
- 14:23come along and join us this summer. Chair, I will put
- 14:26everything in the show notes as always. And just remember, it is
- 14:30not too late. You are not disappearing. You are standing
- 14:35at the threshold of a life that asks you to belong to yourself
- 14:39more fully. Yet you are not falling apart. You are becoming,
- 14:46and your radiance starts here. Bye for now.
