Latest / Tony & Sarah Unscripted / EP 7: From Anxiety to Self-Care, Finding What Brings You Peace
Transcript
- 0:15Hi. Welcome to Tony and Sarah, unscripted.
- 0:18Thanks for joining us again today.
- 0:20I am going to be talking with Tony, and we're
- 0:22just going to have a conversation about some,
- 0:25some things that are kind of important that we both wanted to talk about.
- 0:28And I wanted to talk start the conversation with Tony.
- 0:31Yeah.
- 0:31So you are very open about your life.
- 0:35I am,
- 0:37even when I don't want to be, very few things that people don't know about you.
- 0:40It's kind of the way things are with me at the moment.
- 0:44But one thing you and I wanted to talk about is the stigma behind mental health.
- 0:49Yeah.
- 0:49And getting medications for it or medicating or getting help for it.
- 0:55And I wanted to kind of ask you about your experience
- 0:59with that and just kind of open up if you're comfortable to talk about.
- 1:02Yeah. Yeah, absolutely.
- 1:03You know, a lot of people when they post on social media, it's always them smiling.
- 1:08And and I'm not like that when I'm suffering and struggling.
- 1:11I actually talk about that and how I'm trying to help myself get through this.
- 1:16So after everything went down in June,
- 1:20I was we were talking
- 1:21about this on our first episode, how, you know, had such fight or flight.
- 1:24And I had such anxiety for a very long time.
- 1:27And even though I, I swear when I think about this,
- 1:31I sit with kids inside when they say to me,
- 1:37But I'm on this medication and and they, they look like they're so ashamed.
- 1:41I always say to them, this medication is medication.
- 1:45It's not doesn't define who you are, but you need this right now to be happy
- 1:49and whole.
- 1:50It's like I need high blood pressure medication.
- 1:52Same thing.
- 1:53But when it came to me being on medication,
- 1:58I struggled with it for a very long time.
- 2:02I knew I needed it, but I felt like maybe I was going to betray myself.
- 2:07But I kept saying, I can do this on my own.
- 2:09I can do this on my own.
- 2:11And last month, it got to the point where my anxiety was through the roof,
- 2:17why I would take my blood pressure during a episode of anxiety.
- 2:23But when my blood pressure was like
- 2:26160 over 102 and, you know, a friend of mine,
- 2:30I was talking to them about this and they said, tone, listen, you know,
- 2:34I'm stressed now too, and I'm trying to figure out a way
- 2:37to calm myself down because I don't want anybody
- 2:40to have to feed me with a spoon because of other people's bullshit.
- 2:45Wow. Okay.
- 2:46And I thought about it, and I was like, yeah, what am I doing?
- 2:49Like, why am I not putting myself first?
- 2:53A lot of times we don't put ourselves first, right?
- 2:55We try to take care of everybody else.
- 2:57And I've done that for many, many years, not thinking that I needed
- 3:00to take care of myself because I felt the work was so fulfilling.
- 3:05And it was it is it still is so fulfilling to me that I didn't have to think about,
- 3:10you know, my own emotional health.
- 3:14Right? But I had to do something.
- 3:17So I was speaking with my therapist and I said, listen,
- 3:21my concern is I don't want to lose myself in on medication.
- 3:26I don't want to.
- 3:27When I was younger, very young, I was sent to
- 3:31so many psychiatrists and stuff, but they put me on Thorazine.
- 3:35And I remember I was in like a dream state for a year.
- 3:39I don't even remember, like, it was an awful medication.
- 3:42And she was like, I got Thorazine, say, no, that wouldn't put you on Thorazine.
- 3:46And so I spoke to my provider and I started medication three weeks ago,
- 3:51I thought I was just talking about this.
- 3:53I thought it was helping me.
- 3:54But lately I'm some struggling with that.
- 3:59I don't know how many people
- 4:01can relate to this, but I have fight or flight type of symptoms.
- 4:05So like my whole body starts shaking and I hate it, I hate it.
- 4:10So I really thought we could open up a conversation today about,
- 4:15you know, psych meds because it's nothing to be ashamed about and they're needed.
- 4:20And I, I'm not ashamed that I needed to start them.
- 4:25And I'm at first I was a little disappointed in myself.
- 4:28Like, why couldn't you be strong enough?
- 4:30And why couldn't
- 4:31you use the tools that you know to use to calm yourself your ass down?
- 4:36Right?
- 4:36And I'm trying to practice to be kind to myself, so, you know.
- 4:40But I think that and you're
- 4:43how you're talking about it is how a lot of people talk about it.
- 4:46A lot of people say that same thing, that they should be able to handle themselves.
- 4:50But it's so beyond that.
- 4:52It's so it's stuff that's happening
- 4:55in your brain that it's sort of a chemical imbalance.
- 4:59And when things are okay and balanced, it's it's it's great.
- 5:04Yeah.
- 5:04But when there's things that go awry and that imbalance comes in it,
- 5:08I don't know that you could
- 5:11given if you
- 5:12used every single tool you had in the toolbox, I don't know that
- 5:18that it would be enough to help you with what you were dealing with
- 5:22and what you continue to deal with. Yeah.
- 5:23And I think you dealt without it
- 5:28for what are we in March now?
- 5:31So in March, nine months, eight, nine years.
- 5:34Yeah, yeah.
- 5:35And I saw you grow up and down with your emotions, but you did you
- 5:39you weren't done.
- 5:40In fact, I was really surprised, to be honest with you.
- 5:43I was really surprised because.
- 5:45Was there ever a time, besides when you were really young,
- 5:47that you have been on medication?
- 5:49No. Oh. So you. Oh, wow.
- 5:51No. Never haven't. Okay.
- 5:54Oh, I didn't know that. And it wasn't because I.
- 5:57I just felt that.
- 5:59Dude, you should be.
- 6:00After everything you've been through,
- 6:01you should be strong enough to handle this, you know?
- 6:04And when I started having these really bad anxieties
- 6:07after I lost my job,
- 6:11I would say to myself, Tony, you're okay.
- 6:14You're safe.
- 6:14You have a home, you have food and go down the entire list
- 6:18of why I shouldn't be anxious right now.
- 6:22And little things trigger me.
- 6:24Little things trigger me.
- 6:26You know, it's when I start thinking about finances.
- 6:28Because I've never not worked. Yeah.
- 6:31When I was a kid, I didn't work, but I never not worked.
- 6:33And I loved my job, you know?
- 6:36And it's not like, you know, it's just like, oh, yeah, I got to go to work.
- 6:39That wasn't.
- 6:39It wasn't like that for me for four and a half years.
- 6:42I really enjoyed the work I was doing, and because of
- 6:45what happened, it was taken away from me.
- 6:48But not only my job, but also everything.
- 6:51Like I went from being out there to nothing, nothing.
- 6:56And that that really causes a lot of pain for me.
- 7:01Well, you had said to me once that this was
- 7:03that was some of the most difficult thing that you've ever been to in your life.
- 7:07Yeah.
- 7:07You've been through a lot of things in your life.
- 7:10Yeah.
- 7:11So I think that when you got to the point where you realized
- 7:18everything you were doing was still not working.
- 7:21That's when you thought I had.
- 7:23I had to extra help.
- 7:24Yeah, because I deserved not to feel that way. Right.
- 7:27And you know, what's crazy is, like,
- 7:29you know, the things that are causing me anxiety aren't even real.
- 7:33The memories of what happened.
- 7:35They're not real, right?
- 7:36That's not happening right now in my life.
- 7:38So when we when we start circling back to the bullshit, put it plain and simple.
- 7:44That changes your emotions at the moment.
- 7:47But I have to keep reminding myself that it's not true anymore.
- 7:52But isn't that is there?
- 7:54I think about Cameron with this because
- 7:58there's something that they want him to do when he's ready.
- 8:01That helps deal with the trauma for him.
- 8:05It's that that medical trauma that he went.
- 8:06Yeah, yeah, he goes back to those spaces and it's not good.
- 8:11I can't remember what it's called.
- 8:12Do you know what's called EDM R or something like that MD or something.
- 8:15Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah.
- 8:17So you relive it like kind of you keep is it I don't know, I should probably
- 8:21look this up beforehand, but but it is to help you when you go back to those,
- 8:27those thoughts and those, those things where you're dealing with
- 8:32post-traumatic stress basically is what you're dealing.
- 8:34Yeah. Yeah.
- 8:35It's not happening now, but you're
- 8:38constantly you are going back there for some reason.
- 8:41And being back at that time
- 8:45brings back all those feelings and brings back all that anxiety.
- 8:48Yeah.
- 8:49And so I think that there's definitely I don't think you're alone in
- 8:52that kind of thing.
- 8:53But I also think I was happy to hear that you had gone on medication,
- 8:57because I think you've been through so much.
- 8:59And again, I'm really surprised that you have dealt with everything
- 9:02that you've dealt with. Yeah. Without.
- 9:04Yeah. So. Well let's be.
- 9:06Let me let me be truthful right now.
- 9:08Let me be truthful right now because I self-medicate for years.
- 9:11Okay. No smoking. Smoking pot.
- 9:14You know, if you read my book, you know, I did cocaine.
- 9:17There was a lot of stuff I did, so I definitely numb to myself.
- 9:22To the point where it was manageable.
- 9:26I thought, you know what I mean?
- 9:27But not only,
- 9:28like, going back to, like, what happened, but how about writing a future
- 9:33that is so bad, like losing my home and that that is what I'm was?
- 9:40I sit in front of people and I train them on not to do.
- 9:44Why not to do that?
- 9:45That we suffer far more in our imagination than we do in our reality.
- 9:48Because the reality of it is, I'm okay right now. Yeah.
- 9:51You know, and, and and that's
- 9:53kind of like when I'm sitting in front of my audiences and, you know,
- 9:56I'm getting more into the wellness part, you know, because I feel,
- 10:00everyone right now needs to be reminded
- 10:04because it's a scary time in this world right now or in this country right now.
- 10:08They need to be reminded
- 10:09that you can have calmness and joy on the side of all of this.
- 10:12Right?
- 10:13But I almost feel like I'm an imposter
- 10:18because I'm very good at talking about it and helping other people.
- 10:22But I couldn't help myself.
- 10:23And so I'm really it's been hard.
- 10:25Again, I'm not I don't sugarcoat stuff.
- 10:28It is hard.
- 10:30I'm really struggling, you know, with all this,
- 10:35not to turn this around about me, but I want to add this one thing in there
- 10:38because when everything was happening with Cameron
- 10:42coming out, not 30 something,
- 10:45and I was starting
- 10:47a pride group and starting a nonprofit
- 10:51and then having some difficult feelings that I was not expressing
- 10:55and not dealing with.
- 10:56I would have felt I felt the same way. Imposter.
- 10:58Like I'm saying one thing, but struggling with it.
- 11:01Yeah. Different way.
- 11:03And so I got to the point
- 11:06that I said, I need to take care of myself, and it's okay to feel the things
- 11:10that I was feeling, and I needed to do what I needed to do to take care of myself
- 11:15and get me through what I was going through on an individual basis.
- 11:18So sort of, yes, we can sit and we know what the right thing is to say.
- 11:22We know how to help people.
- 11:24We know, you know,
- 11:24you've done this for so many years and you have helped so many people,
- 11:28but that doesn't mean that you don't need a little something more
- 11:32to help you get through this incredibly difficult time.
- 11:35And I think there is such a stigma, particularly with men
- 11:40going on anti-anxiety or depression medication, you know, like buck it up.
- 11:45Yeah.
- 11:46I just feel like and I'd wish that that would change over time.
- 11:52And maybe the younger generation, it has changed,
- 11:55although I don't see it in my two, my middle of my eldest son.
- 11:58I think that there's still that stigma out there that they should be able
- 12:02to handle things themselves.
- 12:04And if you are on an antidepressant or anti-anxiety medication,
- 12:09you're not strong. Yeah, yeah, but
- 12:13I've been on them for a long time,
- 12:15and I wouldn't say that I'm not a strong individual.
- 12:19It's just I knew my limits. Yeah.
- 12:21And I,
- 12:24I know
- 12:25you get to a point where you're like, okay, if I go off them.
- 12:28Am I going to be able to deal with X, Y, and Z that's happening in my life?
- 12:32Yeah,
- 12:33maybe at some point my life will calm down and I won't have all of that happening.
- 12:37And at some point that will happen to you. Yeah.
- 12:39And maybe then we can say.
- 12:41Or you could say,
- 12:42because I've been on for a very long time, but hey, let me see how I can do about
- 12:45or let me go down. Yeah. Because it's the uncertainty.
- 12:48That's what that's what really brings me anxiety.
- 12:52Oh, the future. The future. Yeah. The unknown, the unknown.
- 12:55Well, you are always.
- 12:55You're very much like type A personality, right?
- 12:59You are, as we like to say, a
- 13:02pre I am
- 13:06and it serves me, it serves me.
- 13:08But so for you not to know what's going to happen financially
- 13:13or will you get a job or what does the next six months look like for you?
- 13:18It's it's got to be very, very, very difficult.
- 13:21More so for you than some other people who might just be like, you know, whatever.
- 13:25Yeah. And I love people say to me, are you looking for work?
- 13:27I applied for 137 jobs.
- 13:30If you're on unemployment, I'm on unemployment anymore.
- 13:31I'm no income now at all.
- 13:33Which is more.
- 13:34It's kind of adds to the stress.
- 13:37No. That's okay.
- 13:38Not yet, not yet, not yet.
- 13:40But but it's like, you know.
- 13:42Yeah, I am trying to find work, even though I'm trying to get back, like,
- 13:46I would rather just, you know, I just open up my coaching practice,
- 13:49really focusing.
- 13:51Well, yeah, focusing on parents and caregivers of trans and non-binary kids.
- 13:55But I certainly can coach anyone, anywhere.
- 13:58And, you know, I'm I try to develop it so that, you know, I'm
- 14:02not pitching, holding people into like a 45 minute coaching session,
- 14:06you know, 20 minute moments of pause, which was actually named after
- 14:10my workshop, a moment's pause because sometimes that's all people need.
- 14:14They don't need this long commitment of, you know, I'm going to sign you up
- 14:17for three months of coaching and it's going to be 45 minute sessions every week.
- 14:21People don't need that.
- 14:23Some people, some people do, but some people just need.
- 14:26Hey, listen, I'm really struggling right now.
- 14:28I just need to talk to somebody
- 14:29to get some clarity and just take a moment to pause and breathe.
- 14:33So, you know, I just announced it yesterday,
- 14:37so I hope I get some income from that.
- 14:38I don't want to not I just don't I don't want to just I'll work for my money.
- 14:42Yeah. Of course, you know what I mean.
- 14:44But I love the people who say that because I don't really see myself
- 14:48back in manufacturing, going into an office,
- 14:51you know, running a manufacturing company or doing being buyer or something.
- 14:56I don't see it. I don't see it.
- 14:58But if I need to do that, I will do it.
- 15:00That's why I keep applying, but I don't.
- 15:03And so somebody says, oh, only 137.
- 15:05Who else who when in my lifetime as.
- 15:09And somebody said to me, they're probably googling you.
- 15:12Yeah.
- 15:12And it's not like Google you and see the video.
- 15:17Right. It's they're going to Google you.
- 15:18And what you see is trans trans and like not anything bad
- 15:23but like on my website and stuff like that.
- 15:25And they're going to be like, this guy is going to bring an agenda in here.
- 15:29So, you know, which is sad
- 15:32because if I know you, you wouldn't bring in a job.
- 15:35No, anywhere unless they were wanting you to.
- 15:38Yeah.
- 15:39But I do
- 15:40think that for you in particular, it's
- 15:43just this unknown entity of when is it going to end?
- 15:47Yeah, yeah.
- 15:48When are you going to to have the comfort of bringing in an income?
- 15:53Yeah, but I can't see you in that manufacturing.
- 15:56I know I can't.
- 15:5721 years, 21 years, I ran,
- 16:00you know, right down the street from here.
- 16:03You in that role at all?
- 16:05I think it would be a huge waste.
- 16:07But I'll tell you what I also developed as an employee
- 16:11coaching program.
- 16:13So, you know, I would go into your company
- 16:15if you have employees that have potential, but there's something blocking them.
- 16:19It's it's less it's it's more cost effective to have me come in and work
- 16:23with them as a coach to try to unblock them, than it is for you
- 16:26to spend all the money trying to, you know, hire somebody else.
- 16:29Then you got to train them and all that stuff.
- 16:31So it's in the works. Now.
- 16:33I'm actually going to do a pilot program
- 16:35with a couple of companies to see if what needs to be tweaked.
- 16:38But again, like, I'm very good at thinking about what's needed.
- 16:42Right.
- 16:43You know, and I'm and I'm a hard worker, you know, I'm on the board Alex Inc.
- 16:47we're doing the event.
- 16:48I don't sit around and just feel sorry for yourself.
- 16:52Yeah, right. Yeah. And excuse me.
- 16:56Even with your previous job, you went above and beyond.
- 17:00Yeah. With.
- 17:01Excuse me. With. With that.
- 17:03Your employers were very, very lucky.
- 17:05Yeah. So I think that's what happened to me.
- 17:06Like, I'm trying to do everything I can to.
- 17:11And just a week ago really started focusing on, okay, what do I have
- 17:16control over?
- 17:18I have control over how how I treat myself, you know, so I'm walking.
- 17:22I'm eating. Right.
- 17:23I've dropped some weight already, I feel better, my blood pressure is really good.
- 17:28Pulse is great.
- 17:29You know, things that I have control over and that makes me feel good.
- 17:34But I.
- 17:36I'm just glad that I started this, this med, whether it needs to be tweaked
- 17:39or whatever, but, I'm not I'm not ashamed.
- 17:43And I don't feel.
- 17:44I don't feel less than. I don't feel like.
- 17:47Oh, man. Tone, you know, you, like, betrayed yourself.
- 17:50I don't know, I don't at all, but I did, if that makes sense.
- 17:54No, I know you did, because I think it was because you waited so long, right?
- 17:58I mean, because this was something you could have gone on.
- 18:01Yeah, but you wanted to see if you could get through this yourself.
- 18:05And no matter how strong you are, and you're a very strong individual,
- 18:08there's just some things that.
- 18:14Can't you can't do yourself.
- 18:15You just need a little bit.
- 18:16It's like if somebody has high blood pressure, you're on medication.
- 18:21Yeah.
- 18:22Diabetes, cancer, anything where they need medication.
- 18:26You know,
- 18:27we don't look at it the same way, but it's the same kind of way, right?
- 18:30I mean, you can't help what's happening in our mind or in our brain.
- 18:34All we know is that it's causing deep hurt
- 18:37and aggravation, and it's it's it's not doing what it should do.
- 18:41Yeah. And it is again, that imbalance.
- 18:44And if you can take something
- 18:46that can help that I don't ever understand why somebody wouldn't.
- 18:50Yeah. And I've felt with people.
- 18:52Yeah yeah yeah I mean listen like I said, you know,
- 18:54I mean I sit with kids all the time or I was sending with kids all the time
- 18:57and they had such shame around it.
- 18:58It was super sad to me.
- 19:00Do you think though, like, why is there such shame about it?
- 19:03I think it's just society puts shame around it and then we feel it.
- 19:09You're like, oh my God, you're on psych meds and means oh my god, like
- 19:12that doesn't mean that I can't still function as a human.
- 19:15What it means
- 19:15is that I'm functioning better as a human and my body is healthier because of it.
- 19:20Right?
- 19:20You know, and they're also, you know, the one that you're now you're saying
- 19:24may be isn't working exactly right or isn't working as it was.
- 19:29Yeah. There's so many different medications out there.
- 19:31Well, listen, listen, when this first one went down in June
- 19:34and I was driving up to New Hampshire, my provider, I'm going to plug her.
- 19:39Vanessa Palmer.
- 19:40Love her.
- 19:42She I said I need something I'm not going to be.
- 19:45I haven't slept, you know?
- 19:46So she gave me Xanax.
- 19:47She gave me 30 pills. Right.
- 19:49So it was like two months later, she was like, how you doing?
- 19:53She says, do you need another?
- 19:54She she goes, how many do you have left?
- 19:56I was like 22.
- 19:57I, I barely took him.
- 19:59I didn't want to.
- 20:00I suffered instead of taking this.
- 20:02That's what I'm saying.
- 20:03Like when I started really thinking about it.
- 20:05Why are you suffering when there's something that can help you
- 20:09feel more grounded?
- 20:11Maybe part of it was that you were going to lose.
- 20:16Yeah, it was a for yourself
- 20:17I thought I was going to lose, you know, my personality.
- 20:19Yeah, yeah.
- 20:21And I think that that's a lot of God forbid.
- 20:24Yeah, yeah.
- 20:25Tweak your personality just a little.
- 20:28Just a little.
- 20:28I think that a lot of people do worry one of two things.
- 20:32One is that they are going to get very sort of comatose. Yeah.
- 20:34And that can happen on certain medications that just don't agree with you.
- 20:37Yeah.
- 20:38Or certain medications for certain things.
- 20:40And I remember when I first went on medication, my husband would be laughing.
- 20:45And he's like, does anything bother you anymore?
- 20:47And I was like, no, I'm good.
- 20:49And my kids were really were they were you?
- 20:52That's how you felt. Oh yeah. The hell yeah.
- 20:54Like they were probably,
- 20:57two, four and six.
- 20:58Oh, wow.
- 20:59And I see now with my, my biological mother that I got to know
- 21:05that there is anxiety and depression and very close in my family.
- 21:09Yeah, but I remember that he would
- 21:14we would sit at my in-laws kitchen and he would just be laughing.
- 21:17And he's like, nothing phases you the kids are literally running around.
- 21:21Nothing's phasing.
- 21:22Whereas before I would just be really so anxious and so like stop to stop that,
- 21:27you know, and he's like his mother anytime soon or like,
- 21:32oh yeah, let him run around,
- 21:36let him touch the stove even though it's hot.
- 21:38Screw it. Yeah.
- 21:41Obviously
- 21:43it's many, many years later now, so lots of changes and stuff.
- 21:46But I as I said, I particularly with what goes on in my life right
- 21:50now, I'm not sure that I can handle it without being on meds.
- 21:53And I and I think that's okay.
- 21:55Someday I will go off them and see what it's like to to truly feel.
- 22:00I mean, I used to cry all the time at the drop of a hat.
- 22:03Oh boy.
- 22:04Particularly with ads.
- 22:05Anything right now? Yeah.
- 22:07How was your crying?
- 22:09I cry, I know you do. I cried at the.
- 22:11Listen, I wasn't going to watch the Oscars not to get off the track, but I watched
- 22:16I turned it on accidentally and it was when they were doing.
- 22:20Of course, the, you know, memories and people that have died over the years.
- 22:25And Rob Reiner and, and his wife came on.
- 22:28So I, I just I felt it like in my throat.
- 22:30But I did not cry.
- 22:31I'm sitting alone in my, my house, by the way, in my living room.
- 22:35And then Barbra Streisand comes out
- 22:37and she talks about Robert Redford, and she starts singing The Way We Were.
- 22:41I sobbed, okay, now listen, not only did I sob and I'm like,
- 22:45looking around like is is any neighbor walking through my oh my God.
- 22:50The next morning in the shower, I thought about I started crying again.
- 22:54So it was yeah, I, I have no it's good that
- 22:57I do I cry I yeah, yeah okay.
- 23:00Now nobody judge me because I'm going to share one more thing I.
- 23:06I love The Waltons, I watch The Waltons.
- 23:11And the other day
- 23:12I started crying at The One.
- 23:16I'm sorry to get off the subject,
- 23:17but I told you.
- 23:21I told you
- 23:22it was going to be fun anyway, so see how much better I am on my meds.
- 23:26Okay, so what's what are you crying at at the Waltons?
- 23:30Well, grandma had a stroke, I can't.
- 23:35Anyway, so there you go.
- 23:38Do if you need meds.
- 23:40Don't be ashamed.
- 23:43Yeah, they obviously work a little different for me.
- 23:45Yeah, a little bit. Yeah? Yeah. Cry at all.
- 23:49I mean. Oh, you don't know sometimes.
- 23:51Sometimes I do.
- 23:52But it's only like if I'm dealing something with something emotional
- 23:55or something that I'm dealing with, but never watching something.
- 23:59Oh, okay.
- 24:01And I used to be able to be like that.
- 24:03And I'd like to help someday, hopefully be like that again.
- 24:05Because my husband's like, you're just like, someday.
- 24:07I hope to cry at commercials again.
- 24:11Yes, because it's like you feel thing.
- 24:14That's the thing that people that's what I was worried about.
- 24:17So this medication I'm still feeling thing.
- 24:21Yeah. Maybe they can pop it a little bit.
- 24:23So you don't feel so much still with The Waltons.
- 24:25And listen, I and I love the, I love the, the theme song for The Waltons too.
- 24:31And I sway when it plays and I know that's not.
- 24:35It's all it's all instrumental.
- 24:37It's not I sway.
- 24:41This is really bad.
- 24:42This is my God.
- 24:44Okay. All right.
- 24:45So whole point is that if you need it, take it.
- 24:48Yeah. If you need to take it.
- 24:50And and life can be so hard.
- 24:53It can be.
- 24:54And and you deserve to take care of yourself.
- 24:57It's another it's like.
- 24:59Listen, self-care for me used to be massage, sushi and shoe shopping.
- 25:04Okay, not that I'm opposed to that, but I consider taking these meds.
- 25:09Self-care. Absolutely.
- 25:11You know, it's not just about,
- 25:13you know, doing the massages, shoe shopping in the sushi.
- 25:16Well, right now my I have no income, so I'm trying.
- 25:18Yeah.
- 25:19It's, you know, every once in a while get a massage, you know, because I really
- 25:23my body needs it and I absolutely, definitely get something out of it.
- 25:28But you need to stay awake during the massage.
- 25:30Yeah, I don't need to. Yeah.
- 25:32The last weekend, I went up to New Hampshire
- 25:35two weekends ago, and my brother was like,
- 25:37oh, you got to go to my massage therapist. You got to go.
- 25:39She's great, she's great.
- 25:40And I said, well, Jesus, I hope I stay awake.
- 25:42Right?
- 25:42So I and it couldn't have been ten minutes in.
- 25:46I snort, woke up, I snort, woke up, you know what I mean?
- 25:49You know what I'm saying?
- 25:51I hate that. And then one time.
- 25:58One time up towards the end, you know I'm on my back.
- 26:00She's massaging me and I know she had my left hand.
- 26:05She was like, massaging my left hand. She was holding it up.
- 26:07And you're supposed to like, let it go. But whatever.
- 26:09I was sleeping and I woke up laughing, like, giggling and.
- 26:14And then she looked at me.
- 26:15I was like, you're tickling me.
- 26:16I didn't know what else to say.
- 26:20Oh my God.
- 26:20Sorry, Yolanda, if you're listening,
- 26:23the funniest stories, they have to.
- 26:26Maybe we we need to have a massage therapist
- 26:29on the show and talk about their funny experiences.
- 26:32Because I don't know that I'd ever go for massage again because I'd be so worried.
- 26:36But that happens.
- 26:37Like,
- 26:37if I fall asleep, I get so mad because, you know, you pay a good amount of money,
- 26:41just miss the entire you miss the entire thing.
- 26:43I don't most wish that they would nudge me a little bit
- 26:45or just give me a big pinch.
- 26:46And my brother Nick always tells his massage
- 26:48therapist and I started telling mine that snoring is a standing ovation.
- 26:55Really good.
- 26:56Yeah yeah yeah. Oh my gosh.
- 26:58Oh my god. Okay, so one more question because we got to wrap up here.
- 27:01But I have I have a pet peeve.
- 27:04And I want to know if if what you think about this
- 27:08when you go into a restaurant, you know, I have a lot of issues with restaurants,
- 27:11okay.
- 27:12When you order a salad, shouldn't the waitress then say,
- 27:16would you like that chopped?
- 27:20I think why I see listen I
- 27:22because you could get because usually they don't have chop salads on every menu.
- 27:26They do not.
- 27:27And if I want to chop salad it should be like okay,
- 27:30listen,
- 27:33How would you like you.
- 27:34Can I have a burger with mayo? Sure.
- 27:38How would you like that cooked? It's automatically asked.
- 27:41Okay, I feel and listen, if you're watching us or listening to us wherever.
- 27:45Like it right now.
- 27:47If you agree with me or put it in the comments or make a comment.
- 27:50Okay.
- 27:51Do you feel that salad should have
- 27:54the option of being chopped every time you order it?
- 27:58Well, yeah.
- 27:58Hey, can I have can I have the Caesar salad?
- 28:02Would you like that chopped.
- 28:03It's it's not hard for them.
- 28:05More work for them because they have to chop it.
- 28:07So what.
- 28:08Listen people charge me $0.50 more for the salad because you got to chop it.
- 28:12And then next time we'll talk about serving me warm bread with hard butter.
- 28:17That's.
- 28:17That's ridiculous. Anyway.
- 28:19Anyway, Tony, thank you for being open and honest.
- 28:21Yes, with the Waltons, that was a big one.
- 28:24Everyone. That was a big one. Don't tease me. Okay, that was good.
- 28:27Thank you so much. Thanks, everyone.
- 28:28Have a wonderful question today by.
