- 0:01Will your avoidant X come back? Well, the answer to that depends
- 0:05on three different factors, and you're in control of only one of
- 0:09those factors. What are those three factors?
- 0:12Well, stay tuned and you'll find out.
- 0:14Hi, this is Lucia with the Art of Love.

- 0:18you get your ex back or to get over your ex.

- 0:44before you purchase the book. And of course the link to that
- 0:46is underneath every video and podcast.
- 0:49So how easy or how difficult it will be for your ex to come back
- 0:54is going to depend on which type of avoidant they are.
- 0:57So let's discuss a few differences between Dismissive
- 1:01Avoidance and Fearful Avoidance. People with this with a
- 1:06dismissive, avoidant attachment style engage in a lot of
- 1:10withdrawal, distancing, and dismissive behavior, while
- 1:15people with an anxious avoidant or preoccupied avoidant
- 1:19attachment style have a hyper focus on the relationship.
- 1:23They need frequent reassuring and exhibit clingy or
- 1:26controlling behavior. This is pretty much the opposite
- 1:30of someone with a dismissive. Avoid an attachment style, which
- 1:35I am. I don't hyper focus on a
- 1:37relationship. I don't frequently seek
- 1:39reassurance from my partner. I just look at their behavior
- 1:42and I draw my own conclusions and make a decision to withdraw
- 1:46if I don't like what I see. I'm definitely not cling your
- 1:50controlling, if anything the opposite because I don't want
- 1:55the person to be clinging and controlling with me.
- 1:57So the fearful avoidant actually has more in common with someone
- 2:02who has an anxious attachment style, which many of you
- 2:04listening to this have than they do with a dismissive avoidance.
- 2:08They just both have and have the word avoidant in their
- 2:10attachment style. Name dismissives don't show too
- 2:14many elements of anxiousness. They're very consistent in their
- 2:18response to relationship stress, choosing to withdraw and repress
- 2:21most of the time, Whereas A fearful avoidant sometimes acts
- 2:25according to the avoidant pattern and sometimes acts
- 2:28according to the anxious occupied pattern, depending on
- 2:33the situation. So if you're anxious, you
- 2:36actually have more in common with the fearful avoidance than
- 2:38you do with the dismissive avoidance.
- 2:40And then finally, dismissives usually set up their
- 2:43relationships in a way that minimizes intimacy and maximizes
- 2:47freedom and autonomy. They want to make sure they can
- 2:50get away from situations that trigger them at a moment's
- 2:52notice. That's why things like moving in
- 2:55or getting married are such a trigger.
- 2:56Because yes, obviously they can leave, but it's going to be a
- 2:59lot more complicated than if they were single and had their
- 3:02own place. They can't just walk away.
- 3:06So a couple that was actually compromised of a dismissive
- 3:11avoidant and a fearful avoidant was Johnny Depp and Amber Heard.
- 3:17Johnny Depp shows signs of being dismissed if he withdraws under
- 3:21stress and escapes by drinking alcohol and using substances.
- 3:25And meanwhile, Amber, who was diagnosed with borderline
- 3:28personality disorder, showed signs of both high attachment
- 3:33anxiety and high attachment avoidance, matching the fearful
- 3:37avoidant pattern. She was extremely jealous,
- 3:39controlling, and clingy, and these dramatic shifts in mood
- 3:43and responsiveness exacerbated Johnny's tendency to escape and
- 3:48withdraw. And we all saw what happened
- 3:50with that relationship. So the first factor to consider
- 3:55is whether your ex is a dismissive avoidant or a fearful
- 3:59avoidant. The fearful avoidant is more
- 4:03likely to reach out during no contact, and they are more
- 4:06likely to want to get back together.
- 4:08Dismissives, since it's in the name, tend to be more
- 4:11dismissive, meaning you're dismissed, I'm done with you.
- 4:15It doesn't mean that a dismissive will never come back,
- 4:17but it will be more difficult and will also depend on the
- 4:20other two factors. The second factor in whether or
- 4:27not you will get your avoidant X back is their interest level.
- 4:32Whether they are fearful or dismissive interest level,
- 4:36Trump's everything. As I said dismissive avoidance
- 4:40are the hardest to get back because once they walk away they
- 4:43usually keep walking unless unless you are totally their
- 4:48type or they have a high interest level in you for some
- 4:52other reason. So even though their interest
- 4:54level may go below 50 if you heard me talk about interest
- 4:57level and you can find out more about that in Doc Love's book
- 5:02The System. He's the one who introduced me
- 5:04to interest level. And the link for that is
- 5:06underneath every single video. And an important part of
- 5:10interest level is connection. The deeper the connection you
- 5:14have, the more likely they are to come back.
- 5:17And here's how to understand connection.
- 5:19And this is the method that the CIA uses to get information out
- 5:22of people. So everyone has three lives.
- 5:27They're public life. The person that everyone sees
- 5:32walking around, going to work, your colleagues see when you're
- 5:36at the gym in public, right? The next is the private life and
- 5:41your friends, your close friends, your family, your
- 5:45boyfriend, girlfriend, husband, wife.
- 5:47They see your private life. And then the third one, and the
- 5:51most important factor, to get information, secret information,
- 5:54if you're a spy or to connect with someone so that they will
- 5:59always come back, is The Secret Life.
- 6:04And The Secret Life that consists of, well, secrets.
- 6:07Things that most people do not know about you, your dirty
- 6:11little secrets. And it can be things you've done
- 6:15that you've never told anyone, your thoughts, your desires,
- 6:18your wishes, your fantasies, things like that.
- 6:23And you know, it's not that easy to get that information out of
- 6:28someone. I mean, there is a way.
- 6:30I'm not going to go into it now. However, if if you're a client
- 6:35of mine and you ask me about it, I sure, I will of course tell
- 6:37you how to do it. So if you can get into someone's
- 6:40secret life, you create a bond that's very hard to break
- 6:42because most people do not share their secret life with people.
- 6:47And I've shared it with two people and they've shared their
- 6:53secret life with me. And you know, we're going to
- 6:57have a bond for life. You know, we're we're still in
- 7:01touch, even though I stopped dating them years ago.
- 7:05So if you can get into someone's secret life, you'll create a
- 7:11bond that will probably never be broken.
- 7:16OK And then, oh, by the way, if you are finding this information
- 7:20helpful, I would appreciate if you would give this video a like
- 7:24in order to help the YouTube algorithm show it to other
- 7:27people. And then other people can also
- 7:28find out how to get their Avoidant eggs back.
- 7:32So if you're still close to 50 in terms of interest level, you
- 7:36have a good chance of getting them back.
- 7:38I've given guys second chances, but only because I was initially
- 7:41very interested in them. But most of the guys I walked
- 7:44away from I never looked back, especially if they betrayed me
- 7:47and I felt I can never trust them.
- 7:49Avoidance. Have a hard time trusting people
- 7:51in the 1st place, so betraying their trust is one of the worst
- 7:54things you can do. And then finally the third
- 7:58factor, and this is the one that you have control over, is how
- 8:02you behave after the breakup. The worst thing you can do is
- 8:06chase and avoid twas dumped you. Unless of course you cheated or
- 8:10took them for granted and in either case you still have to do
- 8:13no contact for a period of time. But if you cheated or took it
- 8:17for granted, I did a video on that topic and I will put a link
- 8:20in the upper right hand corner on YouTube.
- 8:23However, if that is not you, then you absolutely have to stay
- 8:27in no contact and wait for them to say something significant.
- 8:31And again, if their interest level is high enough they will.
- 8:33The problem is that if you have an anxious attachment style, and
- 8:37you probably do or you wouldn't be listening to this, it's going
- 8:41to be very hard for you to stay in no contact and therefore your
- 8:44chance of getting your ex back goes down.
- 8:47That's why I did the video titled If You Don't get Your ex
- 8:51Back, It's your fault And I will of course again put the link in
- 8:53the upper right hand corner on YouTube.
- 8:55And a few months ago I dropped one of my clients.
- 8:58Yes I did because they broke no contact and they called their ex
- 9:03and then they called them again and again and again and again.
- 9:08So I knew I wasn't going to be able to help them at that
- 9:10moment, and I told them that they needed to work on their
- 9:13attachment style before I would consider working with them
- 9:16again. That's how serious I am about no
- 9:18contact. OK?
- 9:19I have no problem dropping clients if they're not going to
- 9:22listen. They're wasting my time and
- 9:24their money. So luckily they listened.
- 9:26I hooked them up with a great therapist who deals with people
- 9:30who have an anxious attachment style, and now they're back as
- 9:33my client and they're doing much better.
- 9:36And no, in the meantime they did not get their ex back.
- 9:39So as you can see, acting on your anxiety and reaching out to
- 9:43your ex when you get triggered is not going to bring them back.
- 9:46That's why I've done so many videos on no contact and
- 9:51responding to your ex, and why I have my Silencio app with the
- 9:55counter to count the days that you've been in no contact and
- 9:59the panic button and anyone who tells you to reach out to your
- 10:02ex when they've dumped you. Whether they tell you to reach
- 10:07out after 21 days, 30 days, 45 days, or 60 days and beyond does
- 10:14not know what they are talking about.
- 10:17As I mentioned earlier, unless you cheated or took your ex for
- 10:19granted, you should not be reaching out.
- 10:22Reaching out to an avoidant who dumped you is only going to push
- 10:25them further away and prolong the no contact, period.
- 10:29And I hate that people are giving the wrong information and
- 10:31setting you up for failure. I know you think it's impossible
- 10:35to get your ex back, especially if they're an avoidant.
- 10:37However, if you do your part and leave them alone and let time
- 10:41and nostalgia do its part, the chances of you getting your ex
- 10:45back go up exponentially. So now I want to hear from you.
- 10:49Is your ex a dismissive, avoidant, or a fearful avoidant?
