- 0:09access to cutting edge hypnosis with real clients facing
- 0:12genuine. Issues.
- 0:14Brought to you by The Hypnotherapist, demanded by
- 0:16celebrities CE OS and even royalty Adam Cox, these
- 0:21recordings took place live from Evans Clinic in London's world
- 0:24famous Harley Street. So get yourself comfortable and
- 0:31enjoy today's episode of The Hypnotist.
- 0:39Hi, it's Adam here, and you're about to listen to an inner
- 0:43child hypnosis session all about worthiness.
- 0:47And it was actually created for a client that grew up in a
- 0:51household where nothing was ever good enough.
- 0:54And if they wanted love, affection or approval, they had
- 0:59to earn it. And that meant for them being
- 1:02academically smart. But it had a twist, and that is
- 1:06that although love was conditional in their childhood,
- 1:10their mother was also very jealous.
- 1:12So if they got too good, then their mother would feel
- 1:16insecure, and that would also lead to problems.
- 1:20So it's this damned if you do, damned if you don't.
- 1:22Or, to use a metaphor between a rock and a hard place, that
- 1:26whatever you do seems to end badly.
- 1:30And the natural reaction to that in adulthood can be
- 1:33procrastination or a feeling of unless you can be perfect in
- 1:37that thing, why bother? So if you can relate to that
- 1:41idea of crippling procrastination or this
- 1:44perfectionism trap that you don't even want to try unless
- 1:48you're pretty sure that you're going to be excellent at that
- 1:51thing, I think you might get some value from this session.
- 1:55Now, where the inner child element comes in, as I said to
- 1:58this client before the session started, what did you, when did
- 2:01you hear, you know, kind of, let's say approval from your
- 2:05mother or encouragement about your passions?
- 2:08And she just never did. So that's why she, in this
- 2:11session, gets to take the position of a mother figure to
- 2:15her younger self and actually be attentive without needing to
- 2:19earn it, to give approval, without it being conditional to
- 2:23be interested in the desires and ambitions and dreams of the
- 2:28younger version of herself. And it's in a child.
- 2:32Work. Because what tends to happen is
- 2:34most of the problems or issues in adulthood are formed in
- 2:39childhood. So when you use disassociated
- 2:41regression and this form of inner child work, then it can
- 2:45actually be very powerful. Because if you can resolve the
- 2:48issues in childhood that can RIP all through space and time all
- 2:52the way up to the present and actually make them feel that
- 2:55they are worthy and they are good enough.
- 2:57So if you can relate to any of these themes or issues, you may
- 3:01get some real value from this session.
- 3:03Please be aware it was created for a specific client.
- 3:06Some of the issues and suggestions may have been
- 3:09perfect for the client and not quite right for you.
- 3:12So disregard anything that isn't quite right.
- 3:14And if you do like the idea of having a bespoke session
- 3:18entirely customized and calibrated to you, then check
- 3:21out my website whichisadamcox.co.uk or in fact
- 3:25the description, the show notes of this episode and there'll be
- 3:28lots of links and resources 1990s that will show you how you
- 3:32can work with me. For now though, find a quiet,
- 3:35comfortable place where you won't be distracted or
- 3:37disturbed. Relax and enjoy the session.
- 4:11Take a deep breath in, and as you breathe in, breathe in that
- 4:23wonderful feeling of calm and relaxation.
- 4:30And as you exhale, give permission to release all of
- 4:36that pressure, expectation, all of that tension that comes from
- 4:49having to do so much more breathing and relaxation,
- 4:57exhaling tension. Each breath allows you to go
- 5:05deeper and and deeper, relaxed. And the deeper you breathe, the
- 5:16more relaxed you feel. And the more relaxed you feel
- 5:24the deeper you breathe. Each breath takes you to a
- 5:31deeper level of relaxation. And I want you to imagine what
- 5:41it would be like to release any tension around the jaw, the
- 5:48neck, the shoulders, fill your arms limp, loose and heavy that
- 5:55your eyelids were getting so. Heavy that if.
- 6:01You were to focus on the back of your eyeballs.
- 6:05Even if you try to open your eyes, they would just feel
- 6:10heavier and heavier and then release that sensation, feeling
- 6:16the relaxation drop down your face, down into your chest.
- 6:22That's it. And I want you to think back to
- 6:28a childhood home. I want you to think of a place
- 6:35that you were living when you were perhaps 345 years old.
- 6:41And I want you to think. Think of where you used to sleep
- 6:52when you were just a child like that.
- 6:58I wonder if you can use the power of your imagination to
- 7:05float back to that place. Imagine floating back at your
- 7:15current age, all the way back like an invisible observer, and
- 7:26you can jump forwards and backwards in time.
- 7:31You might imagine yourself as three years old, and then five,
- 7:37and then 10, and then back to seven.
- 7:41But I want you to observe what had to happen for you as a child
- 7:50to be worthy. Was that younger version of you
- 8:00able to feel worthy by being enthusiastic about something
- 8:05they were interested in? What was that younger version of
- 8:10you required to earn it? I want you to observe what you
- 8:20were criticized for and what what you were given approval
- 8:25for, because those things like criticism and approval would be
- 8:38the very things that made certain beliefs form in that
- 8:43young mind of yours. And I want you to see a very
- 8:50capable, intelligent young child, but a very capable,
- 8:58intelligent young child. Very quickly we'll learn that
- 9:06there is a way to play a game, to study hard, to be smart just
- 9:23enough to get the approval. But avoid doing certain things
- 9:28to make your mother jealous. And the more you observe this
- 9:36childhood from your current eyes looking backwards, the more it
- 9:44makes sense. The more it makes sense.
- 9:51That this. Version of you had a very
- 10:00difficult game to win. This version of you was told to
- 10:09be perfect, but when you were perfect, you upsetted the person
- 10:17whose approval you wanted the. Most I want.
- 10:26You to imagine if you were playing a game and no matter
- 10:31what you did in that game, no matter how much you practiced or
- 10:37learned the rules, you could never win that game.
- 10:44Don't you think it would reach a point where you would simply
- 10:49stop playing that game? I want you to imagine there is a
- 10:57different game to play, a game based on your rules.
- 11:07I want you to imagine seeing yourself perhaps 3-4 years old,
- 11:16but a time when you would have been alone in a bedroom.
- 11:23And I want you to imagine seeing that younger version of you as
- 11:31you currently are at your age right now, and that younger
- 11:40version of you might be surprised or confused.
- 11:44Who is this person in their room?
- 11:51But I want you to tell them you are them from the future.
- 12:00And of course, they might be suspicious or skeptical to tell
- 12:07them a secret that only they know.
- 12:12And when you've proven to that younger version of you, maybe
- 12:153-4, five years old, that you are them from the future, let me
- 12:22know by nodding your. Head.
- 12:31That's it. And I want you to tell them how
- 12:38capable, how smart, how curious they are.
- 12:50I want you to tell them that they are loved, that they are
- 12:57important, that they are interesting and just allow this
- 13:04child to change their age depending on the words that you
- 13:10say, sometimes older, sometimes younger.
- 13:20And if you tell them that they are so interesting and they try
- 13:26and deflect, sit down with them and tell them why they are so.
- 13:33Interesting. I want.
- 13:41You to ask them about their. Interests.
- 13:47Ask them. What they want to be when
- 13:48they're older. And whatever they say, be
- 13:54delighted to hear. It wow, that's.
- 14:01Amazing. Tell me what you know.
- 14:08Why would you like that? For a child to feel interesting,
- 14:16they need someone to be interested.
- 14:23And I want you to be not just interested, I want you to be
- 14:29fascinated, Hanging on every word they have to say and they
- 14:39tell you not just what they've done, but the things they like.
- 14:48Tell them how proud you are, not of their achievements, but of
- 14:55their character. You don't care the grade that
- 15:00they got. You care that they are
- 15:05dedicated. They love to learn.
- 15:11They're resilient. Praise them on their qualities,
- 15:16not their accomplishments. Make this child feel loved, not
- 15:26based on what they've done, but based on who they are.
- 15:35That's it. And you already know you're not
- 15:41just healing this child, you are healing yourself from within.
- 15:48Because every time you give this child approval, love and
- 15:54validation without them needing to earn it, they are building
- 16:01the belief that they are worthy. Not based on what they do, but
- 16:07based on who they are. The same standard you have for
- 16:12your friends, you're now holding to yourself, perhaps for the
- 16:18first time, and feel that change ripple from the past all the way
- 16:26to the present. I don't want.
- 16:33You to ask this child if there's anyone that gets jealous or
- 16:41feels bad if they are too good at something and just hear what
- 16:45they say. And just tell.
- 16:53Them every. Individual has gifts, talents
- 17:00and capabilities that if you shine brightly, it doesn't dim
- 17:11the light of anyone else. In fact, are you shining
- 17:18brightly? You will inspire others to shine
- 17:23even brighter. That if someone gets upset
- 17:30because you're too good, that is an issue for them, not an issue
- 17:40for you. Because if you hold yourself
- 17:45back just because someone else may feel insecure, you are
- 17:55rewarding and enabling their insecurities.
- 18:02The world doesn't hold back because of how you may feel.
- 18:10The most talented people in the world are talented irrespective
- 18:16of what you do, and the same is true the other way.
- 18:20Around and then. Speak to this child and say what
- 18:29has to happen for you to want to try something something new and
- 18:38allow the child to change the age where they feel that it has
- 18:42to be done perfectly or why bother?
- 18:51And you can get curious and ask why it has to be done perfectly.
- 18:57You may be surprised by the answer, but I want you to tell
- 19:04that child that perfection is an illusion.
- 19:14Excellence can be strived for. Progress is powerful.
- 19:24Perfection is a mirage. When you pursue perfection, the
- 19:33moment you get close, perfection gets further away.
- 19:39Perfection is simply frustration, pretending to be
- 19:43high standards because this child is smart.
- 19:51Just wait for that moment where they get it.
- 19:57Perfection is not honorable, not desirable.
- 20:01Perfection is a curse that paralyses progress and passion,
- 20:10enthusiasm and interest. That's how people get good.
- 20:17The best in the world that anything had an enthusiasm for
- 20:22that thing, but they were never perfect.
- 20:27They did it with a free spirit, a light heart.
- 20:33They put joy and dedication into that thing, and over time they
- 20:38got better and better. And to the outside world, it
- 20:43looked perfect, but never was. I want you to see a child that
- 20:51now feels worthy without needing to earn.
- 20:56It is. Comfortable being excellent,
- 21:03even if others are jealous or insecure about that.
- 21:13And I want you to see a child free of the shackles of
- 21:20perfectionism instead. A desire to enjoy, learning,
- 21:32growing, experiencing. Not to earn approval, not to be
- 21:39good enough, but simply because that's what living.
- 21:44Is and I. Want you to imagine what it
- 21:51would be like to hug that child and feel all of those changes in
- 21:57the child ripple through space and time all the way up to your
- 22:01present. Because this child is you.
- 22:09And I want you to imagine. Imagine going forwards in time
- 22:15now, seeing yourself in your present and seeing that that
- 22:22version of you does not need to earn approval, be worthy of a
- 22:28compliment. I want you to see a version of
- 22:32you that stops holding back, just in case other people feel
- 22:37bad. I want that version of you in
- 22:43your present and your future, to seek out things that it's
- 22:48impossible to be perfect at. Seeking out things that just
- 22:53give you joy, that kindle passion, interest, curiosity,
- 23:05and see how you handle things over the next few days and
- 23:08weeks. Don't be surprised if you
- 23:12rehearse not to meet a standard, but just because it makes you
- 23:18feel good. Don't be surprised if you see
- 23:22yourself doing the things you've been putting off because now
- 23:28they're not contaminated with all the emotional baggage of the
- 23:32past. And every time you do the kind
- 23:38of things that you were avoiding, it's like giving a
- 23:44lift, a gift to that little girl that needed to know that she was
- 23:53worthy. And as you hold that dawn, just
- 24:02imagine that smiling child within you and feel lighter,
- 24:09more capable. That you're willing to hold
- 24:13yourself to the same standard that you've been holding others.
- 24:20That their worthiness is not based on what they do, it's
- 24:25based on who they are. And if your unconscious agrees,
- 24:31let me know by nodding your. Head.
- 24:36That's it. And just wait a moment and feel
- 24:40the shift within. Might be a sensation, your
- 24:45chest, your gut might be a lightness, a change.
- 24:54Sometimes there's a physical sensation that comes with
- 25:01recalibration, and any echoes of the past of those old belief
- 25:10systems are now opportunities to remind them your worthiness is
- 25:17not based on what you accomplish, Other people's
- 25:22jealousy is not your problem, and perfectionism is a trap.
- 25:30Progress. Progress is what makes you feel
- 25:34good. It's time to leave the future
- 25:39and leave the past and return to the here and now, taking all of
- 25:43these changes with you. So take a deep breath in through
- 25:48your nose and out through your nose.
- 25:54Wiggle your fingers, wiggle your toes.
- 25:56Connect and calibrate into the here and the now as I now count
- 26:03from 1:00 to 10:00 to awaken you.
- 26:07Starting to count 123 waking up 456 More alert 7-8.
- 26:17Open your eyes. Open your eyes, 910.
- 26:20Wide awake, wide awake, wide awake.
