- Cindy Marler: Good morning, podcast listeners. Today we're going to think about writing something down. So this podcast just for today has a devotional. If you're watching on YouTube, I'm showing it to you. It's available on Amazon. I'm encouraging you today to go onto Amazon and get yourself this devotional, especially if you've been listening to for some time, because listening has some holes in it when it comes to learning. When you are writing something by hand, you're going to activate this network. Of your brain that remains completely quiet when you are just listening. So there's an area of your brain as you listen to the podcast that's not working. So to take the value of this podcast to the next level, when you get the devotional, what the devotional is, is it's 30 days of different episodes and it says right on each one. So on day 19, it's from episode 25. And you could scroll back to that episode and listen to it again while you are going through day 19. But it's also going to encourage you, not just when the reading that's based on the episode, but it's going to have some things to think about that you're going to write. For example, a journal prompt on day 19. Is there someone in your life whose success you have been struggling to celebrate genuinely? And why? And then you're going to be forced to slow down and listen. You're going to have that cognitive next step level, the reticular activating system. That's going to decide what sensory information deserves your focus and what should be ignored, ignored in listening is going to be eliminated when you're writing. And then we have an action step here that's going to force you to slow down. All right. And then there's a verse for each day. And then at the back of the book is a section where you can do, I love copy work, where you can take the verse of the day and just copy it into your own handwriting. Cause writing something down with your hand has such a powerful impact. So if you're really enjoying listening to this and you want to just learn more, I'm going to encourage you to get on Amazon, get this devotional, and go through these 30 days. You don't have to do it in 30 days. I just want you to encourage to every once in a while. And then what happens is when you spend that time with this companion to the podcast, then as you're listening, you're actually remembering at an even deeper level because now you've taken some time to with each podcast to go and write. So even as you're listening, you're going to improve your experience. I call it more bang for your buck. I love that. So guys, hop on today and consider doing this and then answer the questions in writing. Get a pen, get a pencil, leave it in your car for downtime when you're waiting somewhere. Also, don't forget to get to the back of the book and do the copy work of the verse of the day. Benjamin Franklin learned how to write using copy work. I'm like, if it's good for him, it's good for me. So just for today, I want you guys to take the podcast listening to the next level where you're incorporating writing. into the learning process because it reaps so many benefits. And I'll see you guys tomorrow.
