- 0:00What's up, my friend, Jeff Zimper here with another episode of the Mortgage Marketing
- 0:14Radio podcast.
- 0:15Really appreciate you tuning in and listening, making this content me a part of your day.
- 0:22I'm eternally grateful for that.
- 0:24And thank you.
- 0:25Got a question for you.
- 0:26Do you struggle with what to post on social media?
- 0:30Like me?
- 0:31Do you struggle with post production, editing, captions, making it look good, getting
- 0:37the right clips, actually getting it posted online?
- 0:42If you're anything like me, those are the two of the biggest areas I struggle with.
- 0:46And in a moment, today's guest is going to help us overcome the two biggest hurdles
- 0:51that I just mentioned.
- 0:52So make sure you stay tuned for that.
- 0:54Before we get into that, of course, I've got a win of the week coming at you from our
- 0:58community of loan originators, where we're helping them move from solicitor and vendor
- 1:03to becoming a partner and peer, when approaching real estate agents so that trust goes up, resistance
- 1:10goes down, conversations are facilitated and conversations leads to contracts.
- 1:16Win of the week coming at you from Becky, sorry Steve Allison, I actually have so many
- 1:21wins of the week.
- 1:22I pick every single week, so I'm looking at the list of them here and this week I'm picking
- 1:26Steve Allison.
- 1:27What's up, Steve?
- 1:28Steve did our chat GPT class live alongside a loan program presentation for about 18 agents.
- 1:35And then out of that class, you had seven referrals from agents in the last week that attended
- 1:41that class.
- 1:44That is called winning.
- 1:46And I always ask you guys a question when I share these wins of the week is how's it going
- 1:51for you?
- 1:52How are you doing at getting in front of real estate agents?
- 1:54How are you doing at getting conversations that lead to referrals?
- 1:57How are you doing at differentiating yourself?
- 2:01Quote unquote adding value, which obviously has been overplayed, but the truth is it's important,
- 2:06right?
- 2:07Out value your competition.
- 2:09You're not going to do it with products and price and you're not going to do it with
- 2:13saying that you close on time and deliver excellent service.
- 2:16You know why?
- 2:17While that may be true, people have an experience that yes with you so they have no way to
- 2:22actually connect and engage with you in a way outside of something, right?
- 2:26That's just hype, hyperbole, okay?
- 2:29And besides that, if everyone's saying I'm a great originator, I've been around for
- 2:3310 years, I close on time, blah, blah, blah, blah.
- 2:35If everyone's saying the same thing, the impact of that is diminished.
- 2:39That's why leading with educational content and classes in your local market built a platform
- 2:44of attraction for you.
- 2:46So you don't have to chase, cold call, all that.
- 2:48You attract people to you.
- 2:49You get undivided attention with a group of real estate agents who've chosen to come attend
- 2:55your class or event or workshop.
- 2:58They've chosen to be there.
- 3:00And you now have upwards of an hour to differentiate yourself, to create rapport, to build trust,
- 3:06to add value to their business, and to facilitate conversations.
- 3:09That's why you hear the kind of results we talk about every single week, like we just
- 3:13did with Steve Allison.
- 3:14We've gotten referrals in one week from agents that sat in his class.
- 3:21Could this be for you?
- 3:22There's one way to find out.
- 3:24Book a call with me, go to mortgagemarketing.pro, grab a time on my calendar, we'll have a chat.
- 3:30It isn't for everybody.
- 3:33If you're coachable, if you've been in the business at least a couple three years, you're
- 3:36closing at least three to five loans or more per month, then that's the right time in
- 3:42your business to really use this leverage activity.
- 3:44The mortgagemarketing.pro to go check it out.
- 3:47Okay, so coming at you with answer to the biggest problems that I see a lot of people
- 3:50including myself have with social media is, what do I say?
- 3:53What do I post and how do I post and how do I do it consistently?
- 3:56My special guest is none other than Josh Pits whom I've known for a number of years.
- 4:02We are friends and colleagues and Josh is one of the best in the business when it comes
- 4:06to helping people break through the barriers of like creating content video in particular
- 4:12and transforming your videos into engaging, captivating content that generates as well
- 4:17conversations and business for you.
- 4:21What we're going to unpack on this episode is those two biggest problems, right, is like
- 4:25how to come up with what to say, how to do it consistently, how to look at, how do you
- 4:29build a community of people, not an audience?
- 4:33Josh, we just have this great conversation, I think it's going to be very educational
- 4:36for you.
- 4:37We're going to talk about quality versus quantity, and then I'm going to share with you
- 4:40my personal experience in using Josh's new app called the Reddit app.
- 4:50I've been using this because that's one of my biggest problems has been, right, the hurdles
- 4:57of the ease of creating a posting and editing content in Josh's app has done it for me,
- 5:03like no other app.
- 5:04I've used Opus, I've used CapCut, I've used CastMagic, I've used a lot of different apps,
- 5:09right, and they all have their different value, right, but here's what I find is, even
- 5:12those AI apps like Opus and others, right, usually, like I just did this yesterday, who
- 5:17me talking on the episode, usually the output of it is I always need to do some additional
- 5:22editing and tweaking, and what is always still currently required with these AI video editing
- 5:29apps is a human being, right, because if you're style, you have your voice, maybe it's
- 5:33not the right clip that you wanted, and so a human being is always involved, and that's
- 5:36what Josh has done with his amazing app, which you'll hear more about, is he's integrated
- 5:39the human element, right, with the technology element, to get ease of use, to get faster,
- 5:45turn around, better quality content.
- 5:47So if you're interested in checking out Josh's app, we're doing a 15% discount for all
- 5:51my listeners, links in the show notes.
- 5:53You can go to shredaclips.com, for slash radio, to get 15% off Josh's app, it's the most
- 5:57cost-effective platform for video editing that I've found if you compare that to paying
- 6:03a person on Fiverr or whatever the case is.
- 6:05So go check that out, link in the show notes, without further ado, let's get into this
- 6:09weeks show.
- 6:10Josh Pits, welcome back to the show.
- 6:13It is back, it's crazy, dude, I'm so honored and humbled to be hanging out with you.
- 6:17You're truly one of those people you've been a mentor, you've literally been a mentor
- 6:20to me.
- 6:21You've had, you're literally one of the Godfathers at the industry, you've had one of the
- 6:24longest running podcasts of everybody, so I learned from you, so many have learned
- 6:29from you, so kudos to you, and like I said, I'm truly humbled and honored to be hanging
- 6:32out with you and shredding it up with you today.
- 6:35I appreciate you saying that, you know what's funny, we all learn from each other, do you
- 6:39get this, do you have, I want to put this in the right context, like when I watch you with
- 6:46your content and stuff and what you produce and what I see you do video wise, I have content
- 6:52envy.
- 6:53Does that make sense?
- 6:55Oh, it does.
- 6:56Yeah, because I look at you and you make it look so easy and I'm like, damn it, I want
- 7:01to be like Josh, you know, well, first and foremost, I'm humbled, I'm honored, I
- 7:07appreciate that.
- 7:08But I think everybody experiences that to some degree or another, they see somebody
- 7:11else put out content and I'm like, dang, that looks amazing, oh, wow, they did that
- 7:15really well.
- 7:16And one of my favorite parts of that is I always tell people, if I see somebody, like
- 7:20I've seen your content, I'm like, dang, he, he shared that message really well or he
- 7:24created a ton of value in that, what can I do now, how can I go and take that and make
- 7:28it my own?
- 7:29And I talk about a lot, it's called still like an artist, my favorite book by Austin
- 7:32Cleon.
- 7:33I literally will tell people, if I ever have envy, I'm like, awesome.
- 7:37They just gave me a great idea to go create something of my own and I'll literally steal
- 7:42it.
- 7:43The different or the difference between stealing and plagiarizing, you know, somebody
- 7:47shared this with me recently is plagiarizing is if you copy one person, it's called research
- 7:53if you steal from many people.
- 7:55And that's what, like, so if I see something that Jeff does and then Brian does and Stacey
- 7:58and everybody, all these other different people and I kind of make it my own, that's stealing
- 8:02like an artist because all the ideas are out there, just go make it your own.
- 8:05But dude, content envy is a real thing, it is.
- 8:08And before we get too deep on this, for anybody listening who may not be familiar with Josh
- 8:11Pitts, what do you want to tell the listeners about who you are, what do you do?
- 8:15Dude, so I've been in the industry a long day in time, but like you, I started as a mortgage
- 8:20professional, still licensed, hello, I do not originate anymore, but still have an active
- 8:24license in the state of Utah, got started as a junior, hello, kind of worked my way up
- 8:27through the ranks, became an L.O. I loved helping people achieve the dream of home ownership.
- 8:31I owned one of the biggest mortgage brokerages in the state of Utah for years and years.
- 8:36And then started getting into the, we had grown our business through social media.
- 8:40That's how we did it, like organic social media, not paid social media, organic social
- 8:44media.
- 8:45And so many companies started reaching out to be saying, hey, Josh, how did you do it?
- 8:48How did you, how did you actually use social media to grow your company?
- 8:52And people started asking us to do trainings, people asked us to speak on it.
- 8:55And next thing you know, Shred Media was born almost six years ago, which is crazy.
- 8:59And now we help companies grow their business on social media.
- 9:02And we've recently changed our focus and efforts to helping people edit video.
- 9:07Because I, showing up on video, creating amazing content like you and I are talking about,
- 9:11that's one part of it.
- 9:12But then you have to make it look decently good, you have to make it look good, especially
- 9:15to stand out, to get attention with your community.
- 9:18So we actually launched an app called Shreddit where we literally are an all in one done
- 9:21for you platform.
- 9:22You don't have to worry.
- 9:23There's, you know, there's AI platforms and some magic and this and that.
- 9:26But we're an all in one done for you platform.
- 9:28Plus we give you a video editor, we call it a Shreddit or that literally gets to know
- 9:32Jeff thing your needs.
- 9:33But yeah, that, that's me and, and I just, I love having these conversations.
- 9:37I love being on podcasts and shows just having great conversations with guys like yourself,
- 9:41Jeff, because there's so many people out there who can learn and grow from mistakes that
- 9:46you and I have made from things that, you know, conversations that we have had.
- 9:49So that's kind of me and a nutshell.
- 9:51Appreciate that, man.
- 9:52We're going to talk about the app as well.
- 9:53That's, that's actually what brought us kind of back together because obviously we've
- 9:57talked a number of times over the years.
- 9:58We see each other at events and online.
- 10:01But I was recently attending and having the good fortune of being able to speak, main
- 10:05stage, mastermind event, feather in the cap.
- 10:08That's been one of those things that's been on the, you, you crushed it by the way.
- 10:11I saw, I actually ended up seeing the majority of your session and you freaking crushed.
- 10:16Yeah, I did.
- 10:17I appreciate that.
- 10:18The, the, the nervous is hell the night before I've got to tell you.
- 10:21So I'm sitting there at the back with a mutual friend of ours, Deborah Bird.
- 10:26And she herself owns a social media company.
- 10:28And she and I start up this conversation and she's like, Hey, have you been using Josh's
- 10:33shredded app?
- 10:34I'm like, no.
- 10:35And she starts showing it to me.
- 10:37And so she blew my mind like she, she showed me how easy it was to create, upload and
- 10:45have someone else edit a human being, by the way, not just AI.
- 10:49And then have the revisions and then get that usable piece of content back.
- 10:54And when I saw that, I was like, I just felt behind the times.
- 10:57I was like, I'm, I'm struggling it out.
- 11:01Just everybody knows the, to me, you know, you'll get, you know, your take on this.
- 11:06People talk about the hardest parts of creating content or doing the whole content game.
- 11:10One of them is yes, creating it, right?
- 11:12There's some resistance and all kinds of stuff.
- 11:14We'll talk about that.
- 11:15The other half is editing, like having the good output, like you said, and I've been as
- 11:21many people have been trying these different AI apps, Opus and Riverside, well, Riverside
- 11:26does the same thing.
- 11:27Yeah, Riverside, cast magic, I'm looking at a bunch of them.
- 11:30And the problem is is that it never grabs the clip that I want.
- 11:36I would say if I had to, like I just did this yesterday, let's say I had 10 videos of
- 11:42a podcast or something I uploaded.
- 11:44Of the ones that were good to go without needing any other fixing, it was probably three
- 11:49out of 10, right?
- 11:51Geez.
- 11:52To be honest with you.
- 11:53And so what does that mean?
- 11:54That means I've got to now, if I don't have somebody to do it, I've got to now go in
- 11:58there, like do all the frigging tweaking and, you know, editing and dragging the editor.
- 12:03And I suck at editing anyways and hate it.
- 12:05And it's not a high ROI activity, you as well, right?
- 12:10So what prompted you, I mean, is that a problem that you've found that a lot of people have?
- 12:16Oh, huge problem.
- 12:18That was actually the biggest.
- 12:19So about a year and a half ago, well, two years ago, we started a group called Shred
- 12:24You where we were actually coaching specifically on social media.
- 12:26There's some amazing coaches, I mean, you being one of the, there's a lot of people out
- 12:30there who coach on and growing your business and this and that.
- 12:33I just wanted to focus on social, I wanted to niche in social.
- 12:36So we started, we rolled out this Shred You Academy teaching mortgage professionals, real
- 12:39estate professionals, basically any professional who want to grow their business on social.
- 12:43And something we were teaching were, hey, how do you use things like in shot?
- 12:47How do you use things like cap cut?
- 12:49How do you use, like, how do you use some of these programs to video or do video editing?
- 12:53And bro, to your point, I hate, like, I hate video editing.
- 12:56It's one of those things I'm not good at it.
- 12:57I'm not creative in that way.
- 12:59I don't like being able to adjust things, isn't that?
- 13:02So as I was teaching these courses and as I was teaching so many people to do video editing,
- 13:08they would get it, but then they would come back to me and be like, Josh, can you just,
- 13:11you guys do an amazing job.
- 13:12We love your content.
- 13:13It looks amazing.
- 13:14Can you just do it for us?
- 13:16And we started looking at it and I started looking at some of the, the opus clips,
- 13:19the sub-magics, all this and there were some good things to it.
- 13:23But we didn't find a program that we loved.
- 13:25Just like you mentioned, some of them, we would submit, you know, 10, 12 videos and one or two of them
- 13:30would come back decent.
- 13:31And I'm like, what the, like, and then we'd have to go back in and put some fine tune on it.
- 13:35And by the time we did that, Jeff, honestly, it was just easier for us to edit it on
- 13:38ourselves.
- 13:39And so we're like, you know what?
- 13:41What if we could provide a solution that literally where you have a real person?
- 13:44I won't, I will absolutely not disregard that we have an AI piece built into it to kind
- 13:49of simplify that process, which you have a real person is like, looking like, hey, this
- 13:52is what Jeff said.
- 13:53This was a better part of that clip.
- 13:55This is what really would, this is what it was trying to be encapsulated or what was
- 13:58trying to be shared in this message or in this story during this conversation.
- 14:02And that's what sparked this entire thing is so many people were like, I want to create
- 14:06content.
- 14:07It's too cumbersome.
- 14:08Even with the great apps that are out there, like, we had one guy come to us, he's like,
- 14:11hey, we have our team of, you know, 20 people that now that we're creating video, the editing
- 14:16is actually becoming so time consuming that it's taking away from what they're actually
- 14:20supposed to be doing.
- 14:21So even though we have these great tools, like the record clips, but then they have to go,
- 14:25oh, it didn't do this or the captions were right or the B roll wasn't right or this
- 14:28wasn't right.
- 14:29So they would literally have to go back and read it all and which is even more time consuming.
- 14:34So yeah, to your point, that's what we're like, hey, could we build something?
- 14:37And we did.
- 14:38We built an amazing team.
- 14:39We brought some of the best developed, which by the way, bro, I want to have it.
- 14:41If you ever decide to build an app, it is so the biggest headache, becoming a technology
- 14:48coming and having an app and because we built it from the ground up, we didn't steal
- 14:52any, like, we take bits and pieces where I came, we're going to build this and scratch
- 14:55and it took well over a year and we're incredibly happy with it.
- 14:58Is it perfect?
- 14:59No.
- 15:00But it is one of those things that we have hundreds of users on the platform now and they're cranking
- 15:03out content and we're simplifying it in a way that they can just show up and share that
- 15:06impactful message with it.
- 15:08Yeah, love that.
- 15:09We'll talk more about that and there'll be links in the show notes and all that, but I've
- 15:12been definitely using it and finding it easier to streamline my content creation.
- 15:18And why are we even talking about this?
- 15:19Well, it comes back full circle too.
- 15:21This is about generating business, right?
- 15:23And this is about staying relevant in top of mind.
- 15:25This is why it's important.
- 15:26So if anybody's listening and, you know, don't let the point blow past you that if content
- 15:32creation, production and posting gets in your way, it's on you as equally as it is on
- 15:39me and Josh.
- 15:40We're all running businesses.
- 15:42It's on us to figure out the solution to that, whether that's you hire somebody, whether
- 15:46you use an app like Josh is there whatever, whatever the solution is, you've got to figure
- 15:51it out so you produce content consistently.
- 15:53And that's me preaching to myself because I've been struggling with that right for some
- 15:58time.
- 15:59Now interesting stat I heard this morning listening to a YouTube channel, according to this survey
- 16:05that was shared, 50 million people in, I think was the country, 50 million people in the
- 16:12United States are earning money from social media and 15% of them are earning over
- 16:23a hundred thousand dollars a year, at least a hundred grand or more.
- 16:28Do that really?
- 16:29That's like five, six million people.
- 16:32So this is a very interesting.
- 16:34I've heard something similar.
- 16:35So the question of that is like they're getting paid directly from social media because
- 16:39I was like that, okay, so that makes more sense because I tell people, and this is actually
- 16:44brings up a great conversation, something I get asked quite frequently, Jeff is like,
- 16:47well, should my goal be to start making money from social media and I said, no, like that
- 16:52is absolutely not, like if that comes to fruition down the road in years, it is not going
- 16:58to happen overnight because when TikTok came out in particular, the rise of these influencers
- 17:04and overnight, I don't want to call anybody a overnight success, but with, with how the
- 17:08platform is designed, there were some people who grow, grew incredibly fast on, on that
- 17:13platform.
- 17:14Right.
- 17:15And so many people began to expect that like, oh, I heard, you know, Charlie D. Amelia
- 17:18became overnight famous by doing some simple dances and, you know, damn, anyway, that is not
- 17:23the norm for social media.
- 17:25And now more than ever, it continues to change and evolve, and it's a long term game.
- 17:29And your goal should never be to become an influencer and beginning page from social media.
- 17:34You should be building your business, just like you said, Jeff, that should ultimately,
- 17:37especially as mortgage and real estate professionals, you should be showing up consistently in a way
- 17:41that when people go to buy their next house, when they go to refinance, when whatever they
- 17:44do, they, your top of mind, you're not becoming the next influencer.
- 17:48No.
- 17:49That is absolutely should not be your goal.
- 17:51But the reason why I brought that up is because I wanted to segue into the conversation
- 17:54around you as a mortgage originator listening to this making money from your content on social
- 17:59media.
- 18:00I've had a number of people on, and it's funny, you're doing the podcast eight years
- 18:03now.
- 18:04If I go back, when I, I would always ask the question, which are number one source of business,
- 18:08right?
- 18:09And so more often than not, it's referral partners, past clients and things.
- 18:12But what I've seen is over the years, I've seen more people come back with the answer
- 18:16of social media, right?
- 18:18Now, is that all of their business?
- 18:20No.
- 18:21But if it was 20% of your business, right, 20% of your income, even 10%, like if you want
- 18:26to add an extra two loans a month on average to your business, it's possible to do that
- 18:32with your social media content.
- 18:33Josh, I'm sure you've seen that happen.
- 18:35Oh, 100%.
- 18:37And this is, I'm glad that's a perfect, great segue into that conversation is I've
- 18:41got 100% seen people.
- 18:43And there was a statistic that was floating around for a while.
- 18:46One of our, one of our good friends in the industry, she put together some data and some
- 18:50analytics behind like, hey, only, you know, 6% of business comes from social media.
- 18:55And I said, how, how do you track that?
- 18:57Like, because I disagree with that, because I've had so many clients of mine that have
- 19:01like, oh my gosh, Josh, you know, I, since I've been posting content consistently over the
- 19:05last six months, I've picked up an additional like six loans and the only place that I can
- 19:09possibly imagine that they're coming from is posting on social, that's it.
- 19:11Like, now that's six loans a month.
- 19:13So yes, I 100% agree with you.
- 19:16But that's just it.
- 19:17It doesn't happen overnight.
- 19:18You don't start posting content today and start getting loans tomorrow, although I've
- 19:21seen things like that and it happens just because people are ready for it.
- 19:25And that's why we need to stay in front of our communities.
- 19:27But yeah, if you are posting consistently, if you're creating valuable content at, on
- 19:32a regularly consistent scale, and we can talk about what regularly means, because some
- 19:36people are like, they'll come to me and they'll be like, Josh, I want to start posting
- 19:39once a day and I'll ask them, well, how often are you posting now?
- 19:42And they'll be like, I'm not, and I'm like, well, pop the brakes in.
- 19:45You're not going to start posting once a day, because it will burn you out.
- 19:48And I'm very honest with them, just because you hear Gary Vaynerchuk say, you should be
- 19:52posting 10 pieces of content a day.
- 19:53And if you're not posting 10 pieces of content a day, you're worthless.
- 19:56And it's like, no way, if you're just starting out, two to three pieces regularly a week
- 20:01is fantastic.
- 20:02And like, that's where you should start.
- 20:04And yes, you can ramp up to once a day or twice a day or whatever it is.
- 20:10But there needs to be that ramp up, because you can't just jump on social and start creating
- 20:13content.
- 20:14And honestly, if you did, your community, your followers, they would be like, what is
- 20:18Jeff doing?
- 20:19Like a whole, like, we haven't seen anything from you and then all of a sudden I'm just
- 20:24getting bombarded with your content all the time.
- 20:27It's kind of like, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
- 20:28You have to have that introduction face of like, oh, I see Jeff, I hear Jeff, like, I'm
- 20:33building that trust, that confidence, because you have to remember, that's what this is
- 20:36all about.
- 20:37That's what you're trying to do with this.
- 20:38You're building trust.
- 20:39You're building confidence.
- 20:40You're building your brand, which your brand is an extension, an extension of your reputation.
- 20:45That's all your brand is.
- 20:46People get confused with a brand is a logo or a slogan or this or that.
- 20:50No, your brand is your reputation.
- 20:52Your brand is what people are saying about you when you're not in the room.
- 20:55After the transaction is closed, after the deal is done, what are your clients saying
- 20:59about you?
- 21:00What are they saying?
- 21:01Jeff was amazing.
- 21:02He helped me here.
- 21:03He helped us do this.
- 21:04I would always trust Jeff, because you have to remember the mortgage process, the real
- 21:08say, it's a very intimate experience, very, like you're getting to know social security
- 21:12numbers, incomes, children, things, so many things.
- 21:16And if you're not building that trust and that confidence and that respect during it,
- 21:20you're missing the entire point.
- 21:22And social media is completely designed just for that.
- 21:25So it really in essence, like you have to be having that as a goal in mind.
- 21:31It's not just that influence or ideas, it's not just to make money off of social media.
- 21:37It's not going to happen.
- 21:38Two deals, like you mentioned, honestly, Jeff, two deals a month and increase over, you
- 21:42know, the next three, four, five months is fantastic.
- 21:46What if it's just six deals in a year?
- 21:49Like, and if the average commission is three grand alone, that's, uh, what, uh, $18180,000?
- 21:54I do to imagine that, like, and here's the thing, people love to ask me, well, what's
- 21:59the ROI of social media?
- 22:00Did some bad math there, but go ahead and say, uh, $18,000, hey, we're, we're mortgage
- 22:05pros.
- 22:06We're not again, software, but TTIs, but even, but even, but even 18 grand, you're making
- 22:12an extra 18, 20 grand a year off of a few additional, and again, you're not paying
- 22:16anything.
- 22:17By the way, that's just the beginning, that's just the beginning.
- 22:20Exactly.
- 22:21Like that, that's like, I tell people, if you're not getting, and here's, here's really
- 22:24my rule of thumb, you should be getting at least 10 deals a year from social media.
- 22:29So that's less than one a month.
- 22:31Like, you should be getting 10 deals, and again, going off of your, your average, you should
- 22:34be anywhere between what, what does it take to get there?
- 22:37What does it take to ramp up to that posting, like the biggest thing to ramp up to that?
- 22:45Let's, let's just take the average, the average right now, yeah, maybe you know this.
- 22:50We actually, one of our, one of our biggest clients is one of the biggest data aggregators
- 22:53in the entire industry.
- 22:54And we went to them and asked for some, some data to try to collect, and we did our best
- 22:58to try to get an idea of this.
- 22:59Do you have any idea what the average mortgage professional average loan officer, and I know
- 23:04these numbers aren't perfect.
- 23:05So nobody come, you know, oh, where the hell did you get this, and I'm not going to share
- 23:08the source because they ask us not to, but just know it's one of the literally the biggest
- 23:13data aggregators in the entire country, who's a big client of ours.
- 23:16Jeff, do you know what the, how often the average mortgage professional posts a month?
- 23:23Three to five times less than twice, less than twice.
- 23:28That's a, that's a month, that's less than twice a month, which is crazy to me.
- 23:34So that just shows the bar is so incredibly low.
- 23:37So when these people are saying, like, oh, I need to be posting, you know, once a day,
- 23:40I'm like, no, you know, like the average, the average mortgage pro is posting less than
- 23:44twice a month.
- 23:46Like you just need to be showing up once a week.
- 23:48Then you just doubled what the average mortgage professional is doing on a monthly basis.
- 23:54You put out or two posts a week, like you're crushing it.
- 23:58That's how you get their Jeff, like that's how you do it.
- 24:00And you have to remember this too.
- 24:02So many mortgage professionals and real estate professionals, they follow other mortgage
- 24:06and real estate professionals.
- 24:07So they'll be like, well, Jeff already posted, I saw Jeff put a post about that.
- 24:11I can't post about that.
- 24:12Of course you can.
- 24:14Even if you and Jeff have it, maybe you and Jeff live in the same small town in Florida,
- 24:20or I'm in Georgia, I'm in St. Simon's Georgia, which St. Simon's has like 10,000 people.
- 24:24I think's what it is.
- 24:25So even if I live in this small little rural town in Georgia and Jeff and I both live here
- 24:30and we both make a post, we both, sure, there may be some overlap, but that's even better
- 24:35for Jeff and I because even if we're relaying the same message, we're doing it in a very
- 24:39different way.
- 24:40Jeff and I have the exact same script and we read it.
- 24:43People are going to connect with Jeff and people are going to connect with me.
- 24:46So you should never have this idea of like, oh, just because I saw somebody else do it,
- 24:50doesn't mean or I can't do it now, you should absolutely do it.
- 24:53Because again, the majority of your of your communities, people will say audience, I want
- 24:57people to be very clear.
- 24:59When I say community, some people call it an audience, but I just see it differently.
- 25:02A community is people you talk with and audiences people you talk at and you want to talk
- 25:07with people.
- 25:08You want to have a conversation.
- 25:10That's what social media is at.
- 25:11You're building a community of people.
- 25:13Think about your community, your neighborhood that you live in.
- 25:15It's a people or it's a community of people that you trust, you respect, you have admiration
- 25:18for.
- 25:19That's what you're building on social media as well.
- 25:21So to your point, Jeff, is how do you get there?
- 25:23You just start posting on a regular basis and you start posting content that is going to
- 25:26connect with your community.
- 25:28The biggest mistake I see mortgage pros may, you and I know this mortgage pros, we are
- 25:33a wealth of knowledge when it comes to mortgage, mortgage in particular and we love to share
- 25:38mortgage knowledge.
- 25:39We love to spew mortgage content all the time.
- 25:42Your community doesn't want to hear mortgage content all the time.
- 25:46As a matter of fact, they don't care about mortgage content all the time.
- 25:49They care about what Jeff does on the weekend.
- 25:51You would never, we're coming up on the 4th of July, we're coming up on one of the most
- 25:55patriotic times in our country and you would never walk into a barbecue or a neighborhood
- 26:01block party and be like, ladies and gentlemen, y'all know what rates are doing right now.
- 26:05Did you know that rates?
- 26:07You would just never do that.
- 26:10So the fact that people do it on social media is such a miss.
- 26:13It's just like to ramp up, to get to that 10 loans that we're talking about, Jeff, you
- 26:18just have to be relatively like, how would you approach going to hang out with your friends?
- 26:24How would you approach going to a block party?
- 26:27What are you going to be discussing?
- 26:28You're probably going to be discussing hobbies.
- 26:30You're going to be discussing, you went out on the weekend and you went bass fishing,
- 26:33you and your buddies got some fish or hey, did you see little Sally scored her first
- 26:36goal in soccer or hey, did you see, you know, Bobby Joe just got, you know, he just graduated
- 26:41high school and now he's off.
- 26:43Those are the conversations that you're going to be sharing.
- 26:45Those are the things that you're going to be relating to your community that people
- 26:47care about.
- 26:48That's what connects you with your community.
- 26:50They don't care about the greatest FHA program that just came out or the latest down payment
- 26:55assistance program.
- 26:56I'm not saying you can't share it, but it's just not all the time.
- 26:59Like I said, people don't care about that all the time.
- 27:01They're going to tell you when they care and that's when the opportunity comes to share
- 27:07that content.
- 27:08That's the easy, that's the easy lane for us to to to step into because it's product related
- 27:15and we're some so comfortable and that's our identity is our product and I do loans.
- 27:20Yeah, exactly and it is comfortable.
- 27:23Like it absolutely is, but that's why I was kind of on this journey for a while to get
- 27:28people outside of that comfort zone because honestly, even you and I go to these these
- 27:33mortgage events and these mortgage conferences and sure, we talk mortgage talk or we talk
- 27:38marketing talk here and there, but most of our conversations are about, hey, how's the
- 27:42family?
- 27:43Hey, you know, the sun's doing this, family's doing this or this is great or oh my gosh,
- 27:47this just happened or whatever.
- 27:48Those are the conversations that we're having.
- 27:50So the fact that we think as mortgage professionals, just because we're comfortable talking about
- 27:54those things, we need to get into the mindset that it's okay.
- 27:58And I don't know who or where, and I will actually, and I'm not going to call any company
- 28:02out in particular, but there are plenty of companies out there like, oh, you should be,
- 28:06you should have your business page, you should be posting business content and then personal
- 28:09life should not be related to business content.
- 28:11That's bullshit.
- 28:12Like that is absolute craziness.
- 28:14Um, and I understand and I'm not going to go down the whole compliance route.
- 28:17My good friend Ken Perry, if you ever have a compliance questions, reach out to Knowledge
- 28:20Cooper and the Ken Perry team and they can help guide you in that.
- 28:23But I, when it comes to being compliant, just don't be stupid.
- 28:27Like don't be posting rates or certain terms or certain things like that.
- 28:31And you'll never get yourself in trouble.
- 28:33But this idea, Jeff, that we have to share mortgage content all the time because that's
- 28:37what's comfortable or that's what's going to be compliant is just crazy.
- 28:40The most successful and you've seen them and I've seen them and I could give many examples
- 28:43of, of mortgage professionals who were doing it right.
- 28:46They share a mix of great business, valuable business content along with personal content.
- 28:52And it just, it shows their personality.
- 28:54This, this goes back to a very interesting thing that you said though real quick is you
- 28:58said watching my content, you're like, Oh, sometimes I want to be more like Josh.
- 29:01Yeah.
- 29:02I do the exact, if I see like, Oh, I want to be more like Jeff, I want to go like this
- 29:05person.
- 29:06Don't try to be them.
- 29:07Just be you.
- 29:08Right.
- 29:09Because when you start sharing your content, that doesn't mean you can't share something
- 29:12similar to them.
- 29:13But if you try to be somebody you're not, the internet has, or especially social media
- 29:17in particular, your community has a good BS meter.
- 29:20They know you.
- 29:21And if you're trying to be something you're not, they're going to stop trusting you.
- 29:24They're like, that's not who he is or she is.
- 29:26Like, that's just completely off character for them.
- 29:28Hmm.
- 29:29Okay.
- 29:30So let's say somebody's listening to this and they're, they're one of those people that
- 29:33are doing the two to five posts per month, or they know that they want to post more
- 29:38often, but they deal with the two biggest struggles, which is, I don't know what the post
- 29:42and then post production editing, et cetera, which we'll cover that in a second.
- 29:47But what are some easy entry points for people when it comes to, you know, identifying
- 29:53those opportunities that are content, air quotes, you know, no matter what.
- 29:59Yeah.
- 30:00I, yeah, absolutely.
- 30:01This is one of the questions we get asked, like, I don't know what to post.
- 30:04And I always tell people, Mike, especially mortgage and real estate pros, you should have
- 30:08a plethora of ideas to post.
- 30:10Like, you should have content upon content.
- 30:13What's the last question you got?
- 30:14Okay.
- 30:15The last question you got from a top question to get was, yeah, top five, top 10 questions.
- 30:19Right.
- 30:20Exactly.
- 30:21And you can do those over and over and over.
- 30:23So Jeff, something we actually built into the platform and not to go back to order to
- 30:26shred it.
- 30:27But something we did is we actually put in the platform prompts for the top 100 searched
- 30:32mortgage questions on, on Google, like, and we're constantly updating those.
- 30:36Like, hey, where are the top 100 terms on, on mortgage, or mortgage related right now?
- 30:40And we put those directly in the app for you.
- 30:42You can do a simple search on that.
- 30:43Like, hey, what are people asking on Google?
- 30:45What are some of the things that people are wanting to know about those?
- 30:47And again, that's just mortgage related.
- 30:50You can, if you're ever wondering, I tell people this, the first couple of posts, especially
- 30:54if you're getting started, you should literally, this sounds super corny, this sounds super
- 30:58like kindergartenish, but you should really do some questions like so people can get
- 31:02to know you.
- 31:03Like get to know Josh.
- 31:04Like you start this podcast.
- 31:05If you don't know Josh, if your community hasn't heard from you in a while, you should
- 31:09literally like, Hey, I haven't been on here in a while.
- 31:11There's some of the things that we're up to, Sally graduated high school, little Johnny
- 31:14is off playing college football, what give people kind of that backstage pass of, hey,
- 31:20what's going on in your life?
- 31:21That's a great, that is great content to start with.
- 31:24Like, if you ever asked yourself, what should I post about?
- 31:26What's something you did exciting with the family this last week?
- 31:29Is there something you went through?
- 31:31Did you go do something with your, your, your girls?
- 31:34Did you go, you know, do a workout class or a yoga?
- 31:37Did you do some hot yoga with a goat jumping on your back?
- 31:40I only just not sure that is I saw that on social and I was like, what in, I want to
- 31:44try that.
- 31:45I actually go yoga, man.
- 31:46Looks fun.
- 31:47Go.
- 31:48I do.
- 31:49I guess go yoga is a thing.
- 31:50So whatever again, Jeff, to your point, there are so many ideas or go, here's another,
- 31:56if you're really wondering like, and it maybe you want to post mortgage content, go on
- 31:59your favorite social media platform and do a quick search for mortgage.
- 32:03You're going to come up, I guarantee you now don't get, don't get lost in the scroll
- 32:08as I call it because you will just scroll, scroll, scroll, find, find a couple of things
- 32:11that peak your interest and if it peak your interest, create your own content about it.
- 32:16I think, and so that's good advice.
- 32:17I think, so a few things I've written down since we've been talking.
- 32:20I love the fact that earlier you chose to not look at as an audience, but a community.
- 32:27And I think what I love about that is, you know, it puts this frame around it, which
- 32:34changes how you feel about it, the emotional attachment.
- 32:37Because like you said, in audiences, you're speaking to community you're speaking with.
- 32:41And then then I thought of the word connection, because when you think about a community,
- 32:45what's the community about?
- 32:46It's about connection, right?
- 32:48It's about engagement and conversations.
- 32:50And to your point, just a second ago, about like the personal stuff, sharing what's going
- 32:55on in your life, I know some people are reluctant and hesitant to do that.
- 32:58But when you think about networking, right, and you're going to the traditional networking
- 33:03events and meeting and greeting and everybody's like, what are you doing?
- 33:06You're talking about your life, right?
- 33:09And so what that has done now is what social media has done is move that networking on
- 33:14a platform.
- 33:15So it's the same outcome, meaning you're talking about your life.
- 33:20It's just the delivery mechanism is much wider, potentially.
- 33:26Exactly, like that's all it is.
- 33:30Like you literally, what you just said, everybody should literally go back and rewind the last
- 33:34minute, 30 seconds, what you talked about.
- 33:36That is exactly what social media is.
- 33:38Like it is just real life amplified to the end to the degree.
- 33:42And the fact that the average adult human being spends 2.8 hours a day on social media,
- 33:482.8 hours a day, Jeff, imagine spending 2.8 hours a day in front of your friends, like
- 33:53it was no longer like there's imagine 2.8 hours in a B and I meeting.
- 33:59Oh my help.
- 34:00But the point being is, why are you in that B and I meeting to meet people?
- 34:09That's what you're doing.
- 34:10To build a relationship.
- 34:11Yeah, to build a connect, to build trust, that's what when you go to B and I, that's
- 34:15what you're like, you're building that trust, you're building that confidence every single
- 34:18week.
- 34:19So when people send you that referral, you can be like, I think you're like, I'm that
- 34:22trusted mortgage problem.
- 34:23I'm that trusted plumber.
- 34:24I'm not trusted.
- 34:25Whatever it is.
- 34:26Like, that's exactly what you're doing now.
- 34:29I'm like, I'm jamming on that idea because I never actually brought, mentioned that
- 34:33before between you're the first one that brought that idea to the surface here of the
- 34:37B. But remember, if you do a B and I, you stand up, everyone goes around the table.
- 34:41You give your 60 seconds or whatever it is here.
- 34:43So I am.
- 34:44Here's what I do.
- 34:45And remember how you sucked at that too, standing up and saying like, hey, here's who
- 34:49I am.
- 34:50What do you didn't want to do it?
- 34:51It was painful.
- 34:52Same thing with social media, man, only this time you're grabbing the phone and you
- 34:55doing it, you're just posting it and then you don't even have to be in front of anybody
- 34:58and stand up.
- 34:59You can just record a video and post it.
- 35:01I think that's a little easy.
- 35:02100%.
- 35:03Dude, it was way easier.
- 35:05People say, oh, I have feel uncomfortable.
- 35:06I don't like the way I look on camera and I'm like, dude, you look exactly the same on
- 35:10cameras.
- 35:11If you're going to be in eye meetings, there's no reason you shouldn't be creating content
- 35:14on social media because you're standing up in front of people.
- 35:16You're talking to them and you sound exactly the same and you look exactly the same as
- 35:20you do.
- 35:21So if you're doing those things, it's way more uncomfortable.
- 35:23I tell people, Jeff, something that I get all the time, those are like, Josh, well, I
- 35:26don't have them any followers.
- 35:27I'm going to have 500 followers.
- 35:28I'm like, 500 followers.
- 35:31Have you ever been in front of a room of 500 people?
- 35:33You and I have.
- 35:34We've spoken in front of 500 people.
- 35:37It's a lot of people.
- 35:38If you, 99.9% of people, if you stood up in front of 500 people, you would be nervous.
- 35:46You could, I've talked to you, they're like, oh, I can never do that.
- 35:49But that's what you're doing.
- 35:50You're in front of 500 people on a regular basis, like, and it'd give you like, oh,
- 35:56algorithm.
- 35:57Sure.
- 35:58Okay.
- 35:59Fine.
- 36:00Take a fraction.
- 36:01Even that.
- 36:0250 of them.
- 36:03Like in front of 50 people, most B and I meetings are over 50, like, can you get a really
- 36:05good B and I chapter?
- 36:06Maybe you're over 50, 60s.
- 36:08I've seen some that go, you know, up into the, the up ranges.
- 36:10But that's a lot of people and that's, that's a great.
- 36:13And we show up week after week to B and I meetings and pitch the same exact thing.
- 36:17Totally cow.
- 36:18Like, how much opportunity is out there?
- 36:20Well, and it doesn't take 500 people to actually succeed and start to have transactions.
- 36:25You and I both know stories of people who have that many followers, sometimes less.
- 36:29And all of a sudden, you know, like, I think you said on a previous conversation we had,
- 36:34which is, you don't know who's watching.
- 36:36Like, you know, we get hung up in the likes and the comments and, you know, all that's
- 36:40relevant and has its place.
- 36:41But the point, the real reality is people watch you without ever saying a word.
- 36:46And then when they're ready, right, they DM you.
- 36:50Exactly.
- 36:51Yeah.
- 36:52Well, let's go real quickly talk about this.
- 36:54I wrote down also quality versus quantity.
- 36:57And I think speaking back to that same person we, we mentioned a second ago who's like,
- 37:00in the range of two to five posts a month, wants to step it up a little bit more.
- 37:04I do think that in the early stages, it's, it's, it's a combination, it's, it's the
- 37:09wide net quality and then over time, you bring that down to quality.
- 37:15Does that make sense?
- 37:16For sure.
- 37:17100%.
- 37:18What would you say about that?
- 37:19Yeah.
- 37:20I think every, yeah.
- 37:21It's a numbers game.
- 37:22So if, if you're not familiar with Mr. Beast, Mr. Beast is like my kids.
- 37:26Like, I think Mr. Beast is brilliant, by the way, as well.
- 37:28Of course.
- 37:29But Mr. Beast is, he is the top YouTube influencer, he is the largest following on social
- 37:34media.
- 37:35And he talks about this quite often.
- 37:36He said, Hey, I did my first hundred videos to get them out of the way.
- 37:39They all sucked.
- 37:40They were terrible.
- 37:41He said, but I did them.
- 37:42I learned something on every single one of them.
- 37:43I got better and better and better and better to the point where, you know, I was a couple
- 37:47hundred videos in and I was focusing more on like, what was the message?
- 37:50What was, what was I sharing the value of every single message?
- 37:53Your first hundred videos, every single one of you, they're going to suck.
- 37:55They're going to be a little bit better, but for the most part, they're going to suck.
- 37:59Like you're, you just, it's all about just getting better at them.
- 38:01It's all about going through the practice and getting that confidence, getting that into
- 38:06that flow.
- 38:07So yeah, to your point, Jeff, like you just have to start, start creating content.
- 38:11Don't overthink it.
- 38:12I say this so frequently, perfection kills progress.
- 38:15If you're worried about what your first videos looks like, you're never going to get to your
- 38:18hundredth video.
- 38:19You just got to start recording them.
- 38:20You guys are putting them out.
- 38:21You just got to get started.
- 38:22And by the way, as you mentioned, Mr. Beast, I just tried to look us up real quick.
- 38:25I don't know how current or accurate this is, but according to this stat, 287 million
- 38:30subscribers on YouTube.
- 38:32Jeez.
- 38:33By the way, how many did he start with?
- 38:35Zero.
- 38:36Zero.
- 38:37Alright.
- 38:38So that might be an extreme example.
- 38:40You're never going to have 280 million subscribers.
- 38:42That's not the goal.
- 38:43The goal is, let's circle this back, full circle to personal brand and everybody talks about
- 38:51consumer direct, right?
- 38:53You want to go consumer direct.
- 38:54I want to go consumer direct.
- 38:55What the hell are you doing to even have a place for somebody to engage with you, a consumer?
- 39:00Like I think on a previous call, you and I talked about the placement of a Google business
- 39:03profile is one of those foundational pieces that you need.
- 39:07But today's consumer, they're like the hummingbird.
- 39:10When you get the referral, when you get the whatever, you know, whatever you come into
- 39:14there, awareness stage, they're going to look you up on whatever different platform.
- 39:19Question is, what do they find?
- 39:20And you better have some type of a presence somewhere, but let's let's let's let's a dovetail
- 39:24to this as well.
- 39:26What about when you're first starting out being spread too thin, trying to be on all platforms?
- 39:31What do you suggest?
- 39:32Oh, yeah, you don't need to be on all I tell people this all the time is whatever platform
- 39:37you spend the most time on is where you should start.
- 39:40I always like people are like, well, Josh, Facebook is dead.
- 39:42Facebook is not dead.
- 39:43Facebook has more active users than any other social platform period.
- 39:46Like look at the numbers.
- 39:48The number and data speaks for themselves.
- 39:49Plus it's an older demographic and that older demographic is typically who you feel
- 39:53always like, well, I want to be on TikTok because that's where the new generation of
- 39:56home buyers are going to know they're not the new generation of home buyers has a wealth
- 40:00gap that is never we've never seen period.
- 40:02Like that's a whole other conversation for another day, but TikTok has such a young
- 40:06demographic and a user base that and they don't want to be the ones who have a steady
- 40:11income or a steady job.
- 40:12They're the entrepreneurs who are sure again, I'm all about it, but Facebook has that
- 40:17demographic never spread yourself too thin.
- 40:19Don't think you have to be on Instagram and Facebook and YouTube and TikTok and LinkedIn
- 40:22and did it and no, whatever platform you're most comfortable with or whatever platform
- 40:26you use.
- 40:27Look up on your phone.
- 40:28If you're on an iPhone, you can see what apps you spend the most time on.
- 40:31If you spend the most time on Instagram, start there.
- 40:34Why I love Facebook and Instagram is because meta owns both of them and you can cross
- 40:39platforms, like you can cross post.
- 40:40You're basically touching two platforms at once, which is why I love starting on one of
- 40:45those two platforms.
- 40:46People are like, oh, I want to start on LinkedIn, I'm like, great, LinkedIn is a great place
- 40:49to start.
- 40:50It's very business oriented.
- 40:51I think you tailor, you have to tailor your content a little bit more to that and I'm
- 40:55going to use the word audience because that platform in particular, it's very business
- 41:00oriented.
- 41:01YouTube is a beast in and of itself.
- 41:02If you're going to start on YouTube, like people are like, oh, Josh, I want to start
- 41:05on YouTube because I see guys like Mr. Beast, YouTube is a beast in and of itself.
- 41:08There's a huge learning curve to it.
- 41:11Even though YouTube shorts is helping simplify it, but start wherever you're best.
- 41:15If you're spending the most time on Facebook and Instagram, start there, get really good
- 41:19at that and then you can branch out from there, but don't overwhelm yourself in the beginning.
- 41:23Okay.
- 41:24This is some good nuggets and takeaways there about content.
- 41:27What do I say?
- 41:29I'll transition into now the production side of things, how to post, editing, because
- 41:33I think just to bring this full circle back to your app, which I've been testing and using
- 41:37wildly successfully.
- 41:40Once again, I will highlight the thing that I think really, if it's a horse race of apps
- 41:46for social media editing and posting, yours is the only one that I'm aware of that has
- 41:51a live human that reviews your videos with the edits and fine tunes the output of that
- 41:58to your preferences, not Opus, not all these other places.
- 42:01They don't do that.
- 42:02There's no human involved.
- 42:03I think that's a huge competitive advantage, helping people overcome the hurdle of editing,
- 42:09posting, even what do I say because you have the prompts in there.
- 42:13I just want to say once again, man, I'm a fan.
- 42:16Thank you.
- 42:17I appreciate that.
- 42:18A lot of people are always like, well, Josh, can I go find my own editor on Fiber?
- 42:21Good luck.
- 42:23Then they're done that.
- 42:24I guarantee you the time that you spend on that and what they will charge you per video
- 42:29will end up costing you way more than the long run compared to actually finding some.
- 42:34We tried that too.
- 42:35We tried outsourcing.
- 42:36We tried so many different things to find these great people, but until we brought them
- 42:41in-house and we trained them the way they needed to be trained and had the skills and being
- 42:46able to learn, and again, Jeff, we talked about relationships.
- 42:49That's why having a shredder on the back end is so important because they get to know
- 42:52Jeff.
- 42:53They get to know his personality.
- 42:54They get to know how you say things, your mannerisms.
- 42:57That is key to being very successful on social media platforms because again, you're trying
- 43:01to relate emotion.
- 43:02You're trying to share those things.
- 43:04If it's not being captured in that way, you're missing the entire point.
- 43:08Having somebody real human beings, Morgan's professionals, we keep talking about we don't
- 43:12want to be replaced.
- 43:14You can't replace video editing with just an AI.
- 43:17Yet, there may be come a day, we're sure, and it may be able to do that, but not yet.
- 43:21People need to see that emotion.
- 43:22They need to have those little tidbits in there.
- 43:25That's why we built that way we did.
- 43:27You mentioned cost, and that's a cost issue for a lot of people as well, because when you
- 43:32look at four to eight or ten videos a month, that begins to add up, and when you're talking
- 43:37about just exclusively hiring a live editor, I've used different services over the past
- 43:41that costs $1,000, $2,000 a month for that.
- 43:45That's another strong advantage to your platform, as you've got all of your plans are under
- 43:51$400, whether that's unlimited videos or just getting started with four videos, there's
- 43:56three different tiers.
- 43:57While we're talking about it, I'm just going to point it out for you listeners.
- 44:00If you want to check out the app, we've worked out something very special just for my listeners.
- 44:04There's a link in the show notes.
- 44:05It's shreddedclips.com forward slash radio, but you can link it up in the show notes as
- 44:10well.
- 44:11What are we given for the listeners?
- 44:12They get a special bonus, right?
- 44:14It's a great savings.
- 44:15Yeah, they get an exclusive 15% discount, like that is just for you, and you use code radio
- 44:21once you're there, and dude, that's a huge offering to you and your community.
- 44:26You and I have become such good friends and such collaboration over the years.
- 44:30We wanted to do something special for you and your community, because we know they're
- 44:32going to take action.
- 44:33They're not just sitting here, sitting back and not making things happen.
- 44:36They're going to go out and take action, make it happen, and go create amazing content.
- 44:39So we're honored to offer that to you and your community, so go get after and have fun
- 44:43with it.
- 44:44And once again, the reason why this conversation is happening is exclusively because somebody
- 44:48pushed your app in front of my nose, right?
- 44:51Even though I had the app downloaded, but I never used it, and so this is the classic
- 44:57story with technology.
- 44:58We have a lot of stuff we don't use, right?
- 45:01I would argue that some of the apps that you don't use, tools and stuff, could potentially
- 45:05make you more efficient and productive and impact your business.
- 45:09You need to get rid of that you haven't been using, right?
- 45:11I've been paying and haven't been using.
- 45:12So by the way, that's called cleaning house.
- 45:14Do that.
- 45:15It's halfway point of the year, time to revisit your counting.
- 45:17I'm doing the same thing.
- 45:18I got Josh checked this out.
- 45:19You can relate this as a business owner.
- 45:21I'm holding up to the screen.
- 45:22Most people can't see.
- 45:23Yes, it's my handwriting.
- 45:25But these are things that I paid monthly for.
- 45:27Wow.
- 45:28There's like 15 things on that list.
- 45:31And I've going through and I'm evaluating, is this actually helping me be more efficient
- 45:36productive or helping me make more money?
- 45:38I'm making the argument that if one of the areas for you with content production has
- 45:43been, what do I say and how the hell do I post it and do it in an efficient way?
- 45:46And that's been in your resistance, your headwinds, go check out the Shreddit app.
- 45:54Because if anybody knows me, I don't bring a lot of people on here and talk about tools
- 45:57and resources and people reach out all the time.
- 45:59Hey, dude, you want to do a paid ad?
- 46:02Like no.
- 46:03Unless I'm using it or believing it, I'm not going to bring it.
- 46:05So there you go.
- 46:06I appreciate that.
- 46:07I appreciate that.
- 46:08And you've been in what a great user on the platform, go check out Jeff's content right
- 46:12now.
- 46:13He's doing amazing.
- 46:14And that's just it.
- 46:15We want to simplify it.
- 46:16Honestly, Jeff, we want people to show up.
- 46:17Everything we've talked about today is you're going to make an impact.
- 46:19You're going to change people's lives, but you have to be showing up for them.
- 46:22And that's what we want you to do.
- 46:23We want it to be so simple where you literally can do everything on your phone.
- 46:26You hit the record button on your phone, upload it through your phone, and then within
- 46:2948 hours back on your phone, ready to go.
- 46:31That's how simple it is.
- 46:32You don't need a fancy camera.
- 46:33You don't need a fancy microphone.
- 46:34I'm like you and I are using it now.
- 46:35I'm actually using my iPhone, funny enough, as a webcam.
- 46:38Wow.
- 46:39Looks good.
- 46:40So you don't need anything crazy.
- 46:41All you need is your phone.
- 46:43And just go start, hit that record button, have fun, and get better, better every single
- 46:46day.
- 46:47Love it.
- 46:48Love it.
- 46:49Okay.
- 46:50So listen, the other interesting thing is that what's great about this business is talk
- 46:53about not letting anything get in your way is you're actually circumventing.
- 46:57You're like Lewis and Clark, right?
- 46:59Why don't you tell the listeners what you're doing with this new adventure in your life?
- 47:03Yeah.
- 47:04I mean, you might be able to see I'm actually literally sitting on my sailboat.
- 47:07I'm in the St. Simon's, Georgia, actually outside I'm literally sitting on the water
- 47:11right now.
- 47:12My wife and family, we decided that hey, we want to throw caution to the wind literally.
- 47:19And go try, go try a new adventure.
- 47:22We sold everything in Utah, sold the house, so all of most of our belongings and everything
- 47:26we own, aside from a couple of boxes, is on here, on the boat with us.
- 47:30And so yeah, we decided that we want to go explore the world.
- 47:33So the next couple of months were on the East Coast because of hurricane season, because
- 47:37we can't cross down through the Caribbean right now because of the risk.
- 47:40So we're hanging on the East Coast, getting comfortable with the boat.
- 47:43And then we're going to go down through the Caribbean and then we'll go through the canal
- 47:46and we're going to, yes, strictly not to get the globe.
- 47:48Once again, I have Josh Envy.
- 47:55Love to have you out, Jeff.
- 47:56You can come hang out on the boat and really tell me I'll be 100% honest.
- 47:58We did our first big overnight passage two days ago.
- 48:01It was rough.
- 48:02I'm just going to say, I'd be very honest.
- 48:03I did a post about it.
- 48:05The family, all of us were a little bit sick.
- 48:07It was a little bit bumpy, but we all were like, well, okay, that was a very, very good
- 48:12overnight experience and now we know what to expect.
- 48:15It's just like posting video, man.
- 48:17The first one was rough, didn't really like the outcome, right?
- 48:21But guess what?
- 48:22You'll get better.
- 48:23You'll get more use to it.
- 48:24And you'll be like, you know, fricking the old man in the sea just rocking that thing.
- 48:28Yep.
- 48:29I'm going to be rocking.
- 48:30You're going to see videos of us splashing through waves, cranking through hurricanes.
- 48:35Like, that's amazing.
- 48:36Let's go.
- 48:37But yeah, the first one definitely was a little bit rough and bumpy, but how, yeah, couldn't
- 48:43have planned a better analogy like you just said, everything's when you first start.
- 48:47It's always a little bit tricky.
- 48:48You learn in it.
- 48:49Right, right.
- 48:50Let's start posting on social media.
- 48:51Have fun with it.
- 48:52We're also going to link up your Instagram and the show notes as well.
- 48:54You have to go follow Josh.
- 48:57Which one is it?
- 48:58Is it Josh Pitt's shred for Instagram?
- 49:00Yeah.
- 49:01Josh Pitt's shred is our, is our latest one.
- 49:03Okay.
- 49:04Cool.
- 49:05So we can, we can follow your, I'm looking at this one post right here.
- 49:07I see a bolt of lightning on this video.
- 49:09I'm going to have to go back and see what that's all about.
- 49:11Yeah.
- 49:12Yeah.
- 49:13That was our passage, Jeff.
- 49:14Like, that was, it was rough.
- 49:15We had lightning all around us.
- 49:17We had storms all around us.
- 49:18We had even planned it.
- 49:19Here's the craziest thing that you'll, and what I won't go into it too much.
- 49:23But weather is never accurate on any app.
- 49:26I have like nine different apps of weather.
- 49:28I don't know how weathermen make a living because they're always long.
- 49:31Yeah.
- 49:32They still have a job.
- 49:33But what the sea is the most unforgiving thing I've ever met in my life.
- 49:39And it's, and it, which is so amazing to me, but that lightning storm,
- 49:43I will say this, it was one of the most amazing and spectacular things I've ever seen.
- 49:49All those somewhat terrifying when you're on a boat.
- 49:51Right.
- 49:52I've never seen anything so, so beautiful.
- 49:56Yeah.
- 49:57You are exposed.
- 49:58You're out there exposed.
- 49:59Oh, my gosh.
- 50:00In a way that you never, especially when you have your family with you and you're like,
- 50:04this is crazy, but at the same time, it's amazing.
- 50:07That's cool.
- 50:08Well, hey, everybody.
- 50:09Follow Josh's journey on his Instagram.
- 50:10We'll link up in the show notes.
- 50:12And if you find something of curiosity or interest about the, you know, the tool of
- 50:18the app, the amazing thing that Josh has created.
- 50:20Check it out.
- 50:21And then link in the show notes, shrediclips.com.
- 50:23If you want 15% off, use the code radio.
- 50:26Josh, man.
- 50:27Thanks for making time.
- 50:28Thanks, man.
- 50:29Always an honor.
- 50:30Always a pleasure.
- 50:31You're the man.
- 50:32Keep it up, brother.
- 50:33All right, everybody.
- 50:34You know what to do.
- 50:35If you like this episode as well, leave us a review.
- 50:36We'll see you on the next one.
- 50:37Bye for now.
