- 0:33Hi hola mi amigo we're back back again well that was a fun weekend,
- 0:44Yeah, for once. For once, we finally beat the damn geese.
- 0:50Yeah, victory is ours this week. Yep, and that's going to be the note I ended on. Done deal.
- 0:57Yeah, whenever you guys are talking about going today, I'm like,
- 1:00I'm glad I'm going back to work so I don't got to go aggravate myself and ruin my last good day.
- 1:07It would have been all right. I don't know, though. Sunshine, 35 degrees.
- 1:13Was it warm there? 35, was I? That's not terrible. No.
- 1:19Warm enough to not want to be driving shit through the field,
- 1:23though. Yeah, that would have sucked.
- 1:26After an inch of rain this week. What a perfect time to get an inch of rain,
- 1:31right before Goose Wars. Oh, dude. Love it.
- 1:35Well, where's the trophy? It's on the duck. Oh, I didn't even see it there. Yeah.
- 1:43Oh, shoot. It's a Will guy. Well, we'll let one of you guys tell everybody how
- 1:51it was and how we did and kind of what happened during Goose Wars.
- 1:54The wind did not do what it was supposed to.
- 1:57It snowed, which saved our ass, because then it got sunny after that and we would have been cooked.
- 2:04It would have been terrible. But we shot our 10-man 30 geese with one band and
- 2:11still didn't win Goose Wars.
- 2:14That cut deep that did cut deep that's
- 2:17tough pill to swallow when you make a
- 2:19pile of 30 honkers and you still get second yeah i i mean i said it the whole
- 2:26time though we were just trying to figure out if we wanted to kill our last
- 2:29few geese we needed for our sixth man or not but i had that feeling that we
- 2:34were going to need more than what we had to win it yeah which i mean we didn't
- 2:38shoot any more bans after that anyway,
- 2:39so it wouldn't have really changed anything.
- 2:42We would have just lost our three points that we did get for that. Yeah.
- 2:45Maybe, I mean, we still killed our 30 geese before they ever killed their whatever,
- 2:50was it eight men they killed or whatever?
- 2:52I think they shot 19, I believe, total.
- 2:55Was that it? Yeah. Uh-huh.
- 2:59Amateur numbers.
- 3:04Gotta say it. Gotta say it. We've had a terrible goose season.
- 3:07Yeah, that felt good, though. It did. It did.
- 3:12Yeah, Zach, he does look a lot more lively today compared to yesterday.
- 3:18I do. I feel a lot better.
- 3:23But he was not doing good yesterday morning. We're rocking and rolling.
- 3:27Got a lot of stuff checked off the list. that needed to get done today.
- 3:29So pumped about that. And here we are.
- 3:33Did you, did you have a productive day today? Oh yeah.
- 3:36Yeah. Yeah. I got some stuff done for work. Since we're pretty much done hunting
- 3:42for the year, I took the old lady to a late lunch.
- 3:46She deserves it. She's been a trooper for me all year. So obviously let me hang
- 3:50out with you guys every single day.
- 3:52So I figured I'd take her out, get her something that she wanted. who hot it was.
- 4:00Ooh, I haven't had that in a while. I haven't either.
- 4:03That actually sounds pretty good. I'm not a huge fan of too hot,
- 4:06but I could totally fuck it up right now.
- 4:09I probably could. I mean, I ate it way too much years ago, and I really still
- 4:14haven't eaten it much since then. Spent myself out on it.
- 4:18But I mean, all in all, Goose Wars was a good time. I think it was probably
- 4:23one of our best goose hunts or better goose hunts we've had.
- 4:26This year in general, I mean, we had, me and Austin had a good one in North
- 4:30Dakota, and I know you've had a couple good ones outside of that too, Cade. Yeah.
- 4:36Anytime you can get together with a group of 10 guys, hide yourselves pretty
- 4:41well in a bean field and mop a 10-man limit.
- 4:44Like, it's really hard to find something to complain about that.
- 4:49Fair enough. Yeah. That was a shit pile of honkers, my lord.
- 4:55Especially at the end of the day when we posted that picture,
- 4:57where we took that group photo of everybody.
- 5:00I mean, we brought over a third of the geese to the party, but...
- 5:09Well, how was... So leading up to Goose Wars, did you guys get to do much scouting?
- 5:13And did that rain change the way you guys were looking around?
- 5:18Because I know I couldn't look around at all. I was out of town working.
- 5:22Yeah, when I wasn't working, I was scouting what I could.
- 5:26Scouted Friday, found a lot of birds that we didn't end up hunting,
- 5:30which, I mean, it ended up playing out that we hunted the field.
- 5:35I didn't think that was going to happen. I didn't think so either.
- 5:38As soon as it started snowing, I was like, yep, here we go.
- 5:44Not good. We no shit could have stacked up. Over 100 birds. Easy. Yeah.
- 5:53Pookie didn't do any scouting because he just had to work or something every day.
- 5:58Working the whole time. I really thought I was going to get off work well early
- 6:02enough to every day to at least do some scouting and then walking out at 5 o'clock every night.
- 6:07I'm like, well, not really used to this.
- 6:12Yeah, dude. That was trash. Yeah, it was.
- 6:16It was. I mean, I still, uh, I still told you,
- 6:20told you guys like what time I was seeing birds in the air,
- 6:23like when I could and whatnot to just to, I mean, try to at least keep some
- 6:27sort of pattern, but I was really, really nervous that day when it started raining
- 6:32and then it just kept raining and kept raining like well into the evening.
- 6:36And I'm like, it's just not going to get cold enough for what we want to do
- 6:40tonight. Like this could be a real problem.
- 6:43I really thought we were going to be walking all of our shit in that field yesterday.
- 6:49Yeah, I was really happy when we were able to get that side-by-side in there.
- 6:53And we didn't really leave any kind of marks in the morning,
- 6:55but the afternoon we definitely left a little, like, not ruts,
- 6:59but you could tell we drove in there.
- 7:01Yeah, I think most of that was just that snow melting off already. Yeah, yeah.
- 7:07But I seen Joey made the donation to the DNR from the 50%.
- 7:12I think he donated $260 back to Iowa DNR from the Goose Wars.
- 7:17So that's cool yeah absolutely the winners went home with what I think I've
- 7:23seen 240 sounds right I think so yeah hats off to those guys I mean they had
- 7:28a great hunt seven bands that's not something you can do very often especially late season yeah,
- 7:35I mean early season you see guys rain out ten out of a flock and they're all
- 7:40banded but when you start talking July that's impressive to get seven bands and one hunt July,
- 7:47What about July? What about July? I don't know.
- 7:51I'm tired. I have only slept two hours.
- 7:57Yeah, that was impressive, especially, like you said, late season.
- 8:01You don't really have those hunts anymore.
- 8:04No. Really thought we could get more than one, though, where we were at. Same.
- 8:10So close, but yet so far away. But back-to-back second-place finishers.
- 8:16Can't complain Kobe we could have got eighth no I could still complain about second that stung.
- 8:24Never, ever was it on my bingo card that I thought we'd shoot 30 geese and lose. Right.
- 8:31Yeah. Yeah. How's it going, Ryan?
- 8:35How's everyone feeling in the evening? Everybody feels good.
- 8:37We were all hungover yesterday.
- 8:39I feel terrible. Speak for yourselves. I'm tired as shit.
- 8:43Okay, everybody but Tyler feels good. Yes, I was sitting in that crane today,
- 8:48and I was about to fall asleep a few times just waiting for him to do stuff.
- 8:51I'm sitting like, oh, hurry up.
- 8:54I want to go home. That's got to be your age catching up to you.
- 8:57I mean, we can just bounce back so much faster, honestly.
- 9:01Coming from the guy that slept the whole way to the field the other day and was late.
- 9:07No, I was late. That was my counterpart. I was ready on time.
- 9:12No, no. Rachel got you ready on time. You still weren't there.
- 9:15You have not entered the chat at that point in time yet.
- 9:19No, I helped set up. Everything was fine. That was at like 8.30 you entered the chat.
- 9:24Yeah. Yeah, no, and that was after he slept the entire hour and a half that
- 9:29we drove up there. Yeah, yeah, no kidding.
- 9:33What a terrible time for you and Zach. Yeah.
- 9:36I'm telling you right now, dude, I damn near forgot to go pick that trailer up.
- 9:41I got like halfway there, and I'm like, oh, shit, I got to go pick that trailer up.
- 9:46Oh, Saturday morning? Yeah, I about drove straight to the field.
- 9:50Yeah, not good. That would have been terrible. Yeah.
- 9:56We'd have made it happen, but it would have taken a lot longer. Yeah.
- 10:00We'd have been filled a jet sled up with decoys, and that would have sucked. Yeah.
- 10:06Well, you guys got anything you want to add on the weekend? Not really.
- 10:11Glad we actually got to win one on the geese. That was cool.
- 10:16That was for sure cool. They've been being some real assholes, dude. Bad, big time.
- 10:24It's been so bad that, like, leading up to Goose Wars, I was like,
- 10:27well, you know, if I want to do it. Like, I'm just so burnt out on goose hunting.
- 10:31Same. Obviously, I was still going to do it no matter what, but I just didn't
- 10:34know. I was not as pumped for it as I was a month ago.
- 10:39The vibes were definitely not there even in the morning, like,
- 10:43while we were setting up.
- 10:44And then we rained out like that. Group of seven that just slid in real nice,
- 10:49and it was like, all right, we're back.
- 10:54Well, I guess we can move into this week's topics.
- 10:59Pookie's always good at kicking us off on that. He is. All right.
- 11:05This week, we have preferred types of guns, semi-auto versus pump,
- 11:09and then ammunition brand and shot size.
- 11:13See we got we got to we got to work with ryan on this for next year dude i've
- 11:18already started a gofundme just to get funds so we can recruit him for next year,
- 11:25well you stick with us ryan don't take any offers yet we're we'll get back to
- 11:29you soon yeah we'll have our people reach out to your people yeah as in our
- 11:34people's pookie will reach out to you he'll probably arrest you and then figure
- 11:38you guys can figure it out,
- 11:41we'll be the third team that he enters on this year.
- 11:47Well, we'll start with shotguns, I guess. Right. Yeah. Might as well kick that off. What, uh,
- 11:55So you bought a new gun this year, Austin.
- 12:00What brands did you all look at, and what were you looking for when you were looking at guns to buy?
- 12:05So specifically I was looking for a semi-auto because that's really all I've
- 12:11ever used growing up, whether I was deer hunting, pheasant hunting,
- 12:14and then obviously since I've gotten into duck and goose,
- 12:17I was pretty set on getting a semi-auto.
- 12:21I looked at a couple different brands, winchester browning i looked at a stoger
- 12:27and there was one other one i can't remember,
- 12:32but i ultimately decided on the winchester very happy i did shortly after i
- 12:38bought it is when we went up to south dakota for opening pheasant weekend so
- 12:43i got to break it in right away and just love the way that it felt my hands
- 12:48and and how it shot so i'm really happy with it,
- 12:52obviously you guys helped me get that safety switch
- 12:55flipped over for me being left-handed so
- 12:58it's running well it's super easy to take apart
- 13:01super reliable so it's crazy how you didn't have problems with that until you
- 13:06hung out of a layout blind and then you i know it out that was so weird and
- 13:09then it like it carried itself back over back into iowa and i was doing it out
- 13:15of the boat again So I don't know what the deal was with it,
- 13:19but actually, while you're talking, Chris just brought up a good one.
- 13:23Sub gauges. He says he needs a 16 gauge. We have a guy in the group that has a 16 gauge.
- 13:28I've done it. I've done it all out of the boat. And with these guys,
- 13:31I didn't break the 16 out once this year. You didn't?
- 13:36I had the 20 a couple different days.
- 13:39And then I got that Winchester and a 12.
- 13:42But yeah, no, I do love that 16 gauge. I feel like it just brings a little life to the boat.
- 13:49I mean, I got to add some different color shells to the outside of the party barge.
- 13:54I'm still finding purple shells. That's good. That's good. It's good for you.
- 13:58You find them everywhere.
- 13:59Yeah. I mean, I don't get how they just keep appearing, but they just come out of the woodworks.
- 14:04I only bring it so you guys remember me because I know every time you guys find
- 14:07one, there's going to be no question on who shot it. It's me.
- 14:12You guys can never forget me.
- 14:16So we heard, what brand is your 16 gauge?
- 14:19It is a sears and
- 14:23roebuck ted williams damn yeah
- 14:26that go that gun is older than at least
- 14:29two of us that's talking right now i'm not
- 14:32sure about tyler but now that that
- 14:35thing is eli it's got a fixed i don't
- 14:38know what what was that fixed choke and
- 14:41i don't remember i can't maybe improve i
- 14:45think so maybe sounds right but that thing
- 14:48is for as old as it is like it's
- 14:51been taken care of really really well so it's in really good condition and it's
- 14:55a smooth shooting gun it's a lot of fun and then he takes it and beats the shit
- 15:00out of it in the boat yeah thing was getting destroyed there for a bit yeah
- 15:06you would think with how nice that boat is he'd like put something up there
- 15:09for like us to lean our guns against.
- 15:12You know, I have figured one thing out. You'll never be happy,
- 15:16and it's probably just because you're a bitch. At least you know.
- 15:21At least you know. Oh, boy. And the rust has started. Yeah, no,
- 15:26it never ended. It's got to end to start.
- 15:31But what's your, what kind of gun do you use, Cade? I got the old Remington 1187.
- 15:39Old literally rusty that thing's getting the shit beat out of it wood stock
- 15:44and all yep choke stuck in it yep yep no it's not it's not stuck it's welded
- 15:49in it i think it is welded at this point it's it's permanent,
- 15:54but that thing is dead nuts. Yeah, from 80 to 100 yards.
- 16:01Yeah, no kidding. Can't hit nothing up close.
- 16:05No, no. And I can't even blame that on the choke. I've always been like that.
- 16:11I'd still blame it on the choke. No, it's definitely me. I can't blame it on
- 16:15the choke, no matter what gun I shoot.
- 16:17Are you looking at getting another gun here soon?
- 16:20Yeah, I haven't decided what I want to get yet, obviously. I mean I'd love to
- 16:24get a Maxis but I don't know how much money I want to spend on that,
- 16:30they ain't cheap no but in the same respect you get what you pay for if your
- 16:36wife's watching this they're really not that bad like 250 bucks or so that's
- 16:40it she already knows what it costs she asked me I was looking at guns one day
- 16:43and she's like why don't you just get the shotgun you want and I showed her
- 16:46the price tag and she's like okay maybe not yet,
- 16:50hold up wait a minute what do you shoot dad what you got Winchester X2,
- 16:58X3, X4 depends on what I grab that day,
- 17:02mainly I shoot my X3 I still like that X3 over my X4 just because I've had it
- 17:07for so long and shot it for so long I think the X4 is a lighter I think it cycles maybe a tish faster,
- 17:14but I just like that I like that X3 it's still trusty it's never really let me down,
- 17:19Good stuff.
- 17:23What are the different brands of guns that you've seen or heard of people using?
- 17:29A lot of people like the Franke's because they're a cheaper I guess,
- 17:34I don't even know how you would say it.
- 17:36A cheaper high-end gun, I guess. I don't know.
- 17:40They're like a knock-off Browning, really.
- 17:44Is that what the Franke's a knock-off of? Or not knock-off, but whatever? I think.
- 17:49I'm not 110% sure on it. I'm sure somebody will comment and tell me I'm stupid.
- 17:55Well, just in our group this weekend, didn't we have a G-Force,
- 18:00Beretta, Remington, Winchester.
- 18:04There was a Franke. A Franke. A Franke that froze. Yep.
- 18:08It's all right. It froze because he never cleans his gun, not because it's not reliable.
- 18:16It has a lot to do with it but those inertia guns don't cycle well when it gets
- 18:21cold but it wasn't cold enough for that either we hit up and did we did you
- 18:25say benelli i think we had a benelli out there too didn't we i think we did
- 18:28yeah yeah dan shoots a benelli yep yeah for sure i know for him i i can't remember what zb shoots,
- 18:37even though he was sitting right beside me. I'm pretty sure he shoots up an
- 18:40alley too. I think so, if I'm not mistaken, yeah.
- 18:44Depends on which gun he grabbed, though, unless he grabbed his 20-gauge X4,
- 18:46which you never know with him. He does off-the-wall stuff once in a while. Yeah.
- 18:54I know the big thing, or at least a lot of what I've heard this season,
- 18:57is a lot of people are going back to 20s from 12-gages. They are.
- 19:03Did we say Stoger?
- 19:06What's ryan cams mentioned the stoger in 3500 was
- 19:10what he likes yeah i'm shot for years i'm pretty
- 19:13sure that's what i look like or that's what i looked at i
- 19:17think so before i got my winchester actually they're pretty
- 19:21decent gun for price like i had like i was
- 19:23gonna talk about price points and i don't i don't know the price of
- 19:26many of the guns i know the vanilla like the higher end
- 19:29benelli's are very like them and the maxis are
- 19:32about the same price like two to 2500 hundred yep but
- 19:36then you got like the winchester's we can get for you can
- 19:39get for less than a grand if you shop around you can get a x4 for eight
- 19:43nine hundred bucks if you shop around yeah yeah yeah mine was just over 800
- 19:48actually brand new too so yeah with all the videos and everything i watched
- 19:52and obviously talking to you because you've had them for so long and obviously
- 19:56use it on a daily basis like how reliable it was like a gun for under a thousand bucks that,
- 20:03every time you pull the trigger it goes bang it's hard to beat it.
- 20:08Well, see, Ryan here says he's been shooting a 20 for three years.
- 20:12Now it won't switch back. And I don't blame him because they shot one goose the other day.
- 20:17So you don't got to spend a lot of money on shells. You don't really have to
- 20:21need a 12-gauge if you're just shooting one goose every few hunts.
- 20:25Damn, dude. It'd be like that.
- 20:28Had to. I've seen the moment. The roast is going outside of the group now. My Lord.
- 20:34He was coming at me the other night, too. So I don't want to hear it.
- 20:39Oh there goes our nil deal yeah no
- 20:43it it could very well be gone but i had
- 20:45to sorry we got zb kitchens yeah zb's saying his sp3 all the way until it gets
- 20:53cold and all that thing does is click that will happen poor ryan getting bullied yeah yeah so you,
- 21:05all shoot semi-automatics. I don't know.
- 21:08I have a one pump. I just have the Super X pump, which I don't think I've ever
- 21:12even shot it, so I don't know if it's worth a damn or not. Do you guys have any pumps that you use?
- 21:17I have 870 I used to hunt with before I got the 1187.
- 21:22That thing, you want to talk about a hard gun to shoot, it's got a special forces
- 21:28gun, so it's got a scope rail on it, and there was no bead on the end of the
- 21:32barrel. So you were just shooting that thing blind.
- 21:36Right? Honestly, honestly though, I think it was good.
- 21:39Like when I started waterfowl hunting, it taught me not to aim like you would
- 21:44like shooting a rifle or something.
- 21:47Like I said, helping out. Yeah. But that thing froze on me one day in the snow
- 21:53and ice and it pissed me off bad.
- 21:56This comment right here is complete lies. Complete and utter lies.
- 22:03It's one of the, like the most false thing I've seen in the past 24 hours other than one thing.
- 22:11Oh, boy.
- 22:14Can't say that one thing. Simmer down. Simmer down. That's for another day.
- 22:21Honestly, I don't even know none of the guys that we hunt with. Hunt with pumps.
- 22:26No. At all. Like, of all the people that we've hunted with and all the various
- 22:31groups this year, I don't recall.
- 22:33Martinez has a pump. Oh, does he? I think he's got an 870.
- 22:37You want to talk about a gun that never gets cleaned oh boy that Mexican OT,
- 22:45Martinez is a good dude yeah he's good shit I need to clean my guns when I come
- 22:51home next in three years yeah I was going to say so October,
- 22:57probably the next day off I get so I can get my microphone that would help yeah
- 23:02that would help it kind of sucks
- 23:05not having it leave your trailer keys too would you we have stuff to do,
- 23:12you don't ever do anything when I leave the trailer keys,
- 23:15Oof-da. Oof-da. You caught us on your camera getting into it just the other night.
- 23:21Man, you still didn't do anything. All right. I'll remember that.
- 23:26You went and got the hedge trimmer. That never got returned.
- 23:28Just went into your stockpile of Tyler's stuff at your house. Yeah.
- 23:33I have a bunch of it. Honestly, I didn't even keep bringing it up.
- 23:38No, I'm not going to forget about it. Don't worry. Is that thing still in my backseat?
- 23:42No, I think it's in my backseat. No. Well, you brought it. It's in my truck. Yeah.
- 23:48That's all right. We'll return it. We're just safekeeping for the limbo in between when you're homeless.
- 23:56That's going to be happening soon. Yeah, it is. I need to get on my email and
- 24:02sign the documents. She sent me like three emails a day to sign.
- 24:07So, man, this is an interesting one. Like modern guns versus guns,
- 24:13you know, say, or like our parents used to shoot or 20, 30 years ago for waterfowl hunting.
- 24:19Like the gun that I have. Yeah.
- 24:22It's, it's crazy. The differences and that they came out with,
- 24:26I mean, granted, they're still very similar, but they've lost like all the new
- 24:30guns don't weigh anything.
- 24:31Yep. They're so light. It's insane.
- 24:35That is the only bitch I have about my gun is it is a fricking tank.
- 24:39Yeah. you're carrying a 4x4 yep,
- 24:46I don't think they've lost any reliability either since you know just the changes
- 24:50they've made and improvements through the years not that I've noticed at least
- 24:55like from my X2 to my X4 that the reliability is still the same as it was when
- 24:59they came out with the X2 I feel like,
- 25:04five years ago.
- 25:08No, the X2 didn't come out 35 years ago. Oh. Close enough. Dang.
- 25:14No. Not even close. Dang. Roast denied.
- 25:22Yeah. He tried, but he failed. Yeah, that's all right. I'll get better.
- 25:27I'll come back. At least he tried.
- 25:29He's been saying he's going to get better for a long time, but I'm really losing hope.
- 25:33See I think we need to tell Joey next year Instead of putting so close On the
- 25:37second place trophy it needs to say at least you tried That'd be a good one.
- 25:43That'd be a good one Did you Fix your mic stand today Oh yeah yeah we got to
- 25:49rip it now JB welded it out No we had to cut the bolt out Because,
- 25:56The wing nut was stripped So it wouldn't even back out anymore I took a hacksaw
- 26:00and cut the cut the bolt off and then we drilled it out and put an actual bolt and nut on it.
- 26:06Did you didn't let Austin use the power tools did you?
- 26:09I actually did. Yeah. I was scared for my life. Dude I actually did pretty well
- 26:13too. I'm not gonna lie. He did. That's impressive.
- 26:16I can't wait to go home and tell my wife about it.
- 26:19She gonna give you a cookie? Good boy. I hope so.
- 26:23That would be awfully nice. Cookie. See I agree with Ryan's comment.
- 26:28Like I love the first loser.
- 26:31Yeah. Saying like, yeah,
- 26:34I mean, yeah, we did get second out of eight teams, but at the end of the day,
- 26:38it doesn't matter if you got second or eighth. You're still a loser. Yep.
- 26:45The story of Austin's life. Yep. Damn, dude. Yeah, it'd be like that.
- 26:50I really thought that roast was going to be coming for me.
- 26:53I haven't thought of one for you yet, a good one. Just keep pushing them that way.
- 27:00Well, let's move into ammunition. ammunition what's uh what's your guys's go-to
- 27:05ammunition that you like to use go ahead pookie we shoot the same yeah we both
- 27:10shoot can't i mean i have shot a lot of federal to fiochi,
- 27:16and some apex one day when i forgot my shells and had to borrow something from dad,
- 27:21that that's really about it i mean pretty much that we see on a day-to-day basis for us yeah,
- 27:31what was your go-to Tyler before you went to Apex Fiocci,
- 27:37Don't ever shoot another Fiocci ever again. Although I did hear they just get...
- 27:42I'm pretty sure I heard they got bought out by Remington recently. I think I heard that too.
- 27:47So that'll be interesting. Not that I really care.
- 27:53So salty today. My...
- 27:57The reason I quit using Fiocci was I bought a case of it and literally every
- 28:03fifth shell in a box would misfire.
- 28:05Damn. and they were three inch twos and then
- 28:08i called them about it because i you know had
- 28:12a shit i'd over a box of shells
- 28:15that were worthless in a
- 28:18case and they didn't want to help me
- 28:20out with anything they just said send us send us the shells back and we'll review
- 28:26them all the duds they want me to send those back individually so they could
- 28:28review them and i what they weren't going to send me anything else in return
- 28:31a coupon even damn and then i had a case of i bought a case of three and a half
- 28:36inch of the golden goose shells that year.
- 28:38And those are the ones that I was cussing that we've talked about before on the podcast.
- 28:44Oh, that was living legends podcast. We discussed that. Yeah.
- 28:48Yep. We've talked about it here.
- 28:50Those ones were really a killer. That was the dagger that I won't ever buy a Fiocchi again.
- 28:59Have you ever shot the, the Browning shells, the wicked wings?
- 29:05I think it is. No, I have not.
- 29:07Dude, those things are... When they first came out, they were bad ass.
- 29:12I haven't shot them in a long time.
- 29:14How much are those? Are they more expensive? I think they're expensive now.
- 29:18When they first came out, they were really cheap, and they hit like a freaking dump truck.
- 29:23But then they got to the same price as a Kent, and I'm like,
- 29:26yeah, I'll just buy a Kent.
- 29:29I'd have to agree with Ryan on this one that the two inch or the twos tend to pattern the best,
- 29:38the Kent 3-inch threes, but I just stick with twos for everything, personally.
- 29:44Seems to be pretty well-rounded for geese and everything.
- 29:48Whatever the combo is with my choke tube and the 2-4 Kent, those,
- 29:54I save those for some good days.
- 29:59They shoot well through my gun, but they're freaking expensive. My God.
- 30:03You're rich. Both of you guys are. Bullshit. Yeah, you're crazy.
- 30:09You guys just try them all out for me. Tell me what's the best,
- 30:13and then I'll go buy them for myself. Jeez.
- 30:17I know those two stacks have been getting very, very popular,
- 30:21though. I hear a lot of people that are running those.
- 30:25I've never been a big fan of them, personally, but I haven't shot them a lot
- 30:28either, so I've shot less than a box of those. Yeah, I love them.
- 30:34Like I said, I made that switch to Apex. I can't get off them. Yeah.
- 30:39Oh, yeah. Migros big, too. Oh, yeah. A lot of people shoot Migros.
- 30:434-6 stack out of a 20. I bet that is a hammer.
- 30:47Those are expensive, though, aren't they? Those are wicked expensive.
- 30:50Dude, all the stack loads are expensive. Yeah.
- 30:54Coming from the dude that has all the nice stuff, like, those are expensive.
- 31:00Those are expensive. Yeah, well, if you want them that bad, you'll go out and do it.
- 31:04You know what's crazy? is I have this thing called a job yeah and I make money
- 31:09and I buy the things that I want to do but I don't spend money on anything else
- 31:13other than waterfowl hunting so there's that this is true very true yeah we do know this about you,
- 31:18that's all about to change yeah,
- 31:21no no I'm still gonna have just a mortgage just gonna be a different amount
- 31:24than it's gonna be yeah that's fair,
- 31:29changing, other than I'm just going to have less money to spend on duck hunting.
- 31:33Ooh, Ryan just said the Migra stacks are the same price as a regular load.
- 31:36The more you know. What is a case of Migra?
- 31:42I've looked at it at Rogers before when I was down there, and I always thought it was expensive.
- 31:48Oh god, we got the acorn cow cowboy in here. The old high fence farmers.
- 31:58So close to 200 so close,
- 32:03at 289 a case and 275 a case for 20 inch oh thank you wolf wolf big wolf ryan's
- 32:14got ryan's got that big money can't hide that kind of money yeah it's that dog trainer type no dude,
- 32:23no he pushes dirt scoop the dirt push the dirt it's scoop the dirt throw the
- 32:29dirt come on on honestly with my 20 gauge no that's all right go ahead i wasn't even talking.
- 32:43All right i'm back with my 20
- 32:46gauge if it would have been chambered in three I probably never would have bought
- 32:51another gun but the fact that it was only chambered in two and three quarters
- 32:54like it was so much harder to find them and just so much less convenient than
- 33:02being able to just pick up a box of three inch and roll with it yeah,
- 33:06what's he doing? I don't know he's muted yeah,
- 33:11He muted himself. Yeah, he did. I see it now. I wonder if he's looking something up.
- 33:17Probably. Or texting us.
- 33:20Yeah, right. He doesn't like us that much. That's true. Ryan exposed how he's
- 33:25getting his money now. His OnlyFans finally took off.
- 33:31You'll have that sometimes. He just got three new subscribers.
- 33:36That's a no for me, dog. Yeah, I'm good. but it doesn't surprise me on your
- 33:41part. Yeah, it'd be like that.
- 33:46Damn. What about steel compared to bismuth and tungsten?
- 33:52I can't really speak on it. I've only really shot steel. I've never really shot
- 33:56the bismuth or the tungsten, honestly.
- 33:58I haven't either. I'm sure Rich Boy has with his peasants.
- 34:04Whoa. Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. No, I never have, But for how expensive they are, I'm super intrigued.
- 34:14Like, how much better are they? Like, for that much money, how much better are
- 34:18they? I would like to sometime.
- 34:21Like, at least try it out. But I don't know.
- 34:24Like, when you shoot them, when they do it right and you shoot them at 10,
- 34:2915 yards, like, it doesn't matter what you shoot. Like, they should just die anyways.
- 34:34I would have to agree. I don't think bismuth or tungsten is really necessary.
- 34:39I think it's some bougie some bougie boy. Too high priced. Yeah.
- 34:45I mean you know like unless they want to sponsor us or something I'll try anything. Right. Right.
- 34:51Yeah you do seem like the type that could be bought.
- 34:55Talks, shit walks. That is fair. No, shit doesn't walk. It goes in the toilet
- 34:59and gets flushed down the toilet. Maybe.
- 35:06I'm not going to go back to Austin's house because he might be walking around
- 35:09the corner and just find a pile of shit in the corners.
- 35:14Seems slightly aggressive. It does. I'm glad this is going to be a shorter episode tonight.
- 35:21Dad needs to get some sleep. Yeah. Yeah. Dad's tired.
- 35:27Are you guys gonna say anything are you guys just gonna talk about nothing we've
- 35:33been doing the talking today,
- 35:36yeah cause I've had to ask all the questions that's fine we know your brain
- 35:42power isn't fully functional today the questions are the easy part,
- 35:49well I don't know I don't got anything
- 35:52else we'll see if anybody else got anything in the comments to add.
- 35:56If not, we'll end this fucking thing.
- 35:59Ryan did say that the bismuth pattern's a little bit better.
- 36:03But he also agreed that if they're in the decoys, they're dead.
- 36:09That'd be interesting to see. I've never patterned any shell in my life anyways.
- 36:13Same. I was going to ask you that. If you've ever patterned them.
- 36:16No. I don't got time for that. Throw it in the gun, shoot it at the duck.
- 36:20Get mad when I don't hit it. Throw the shell in the water.
- 36:23Yeah try a different brand throw a gun in the water rinse and repeat,
- 36:31it's like dunking the gun in holy water yeah our holy water isn't very sanitary no,
- 36:41Tyler, have you ever done any hunting with non-12 gauge?
- 36:44Yeah, I used to use a 20 gauge all the time. I started out on 410. Ooh.
- 36:50Killed quite a few ducks with a single shot 410.
- 36:55This is a good one. Which chokes do we like? I have a Kix High Flyer full that
- 37:01is, like we said, welded in my gun.
- 37:03It doesn't leave. Yeah, even if he didn't like it, he couldn't take it out and change it.
- 37:07Yeah. I could, I'd just need a torch. Yeah.
- 37:11You just shorten your barrel, cut it off, and then re-thread it. No, no.
- 37:18I run a Cremator. Mine, yeah. Just got it actually up in North Dakota.
- 37:24I ran one on my 20 and then didn't really think about it until we were in North Dakota.
- 37:30But luckily, I was able to track one down at Shields there. So I run them on both of mine.
- 37:37Did you even use your 20 this year? Yeah, twice. I brought it out twice. Yeah.
- 37:45It's more of a change of pace. You know, I mean, I do like it,
- 37:48like how light that 20 gauge is and how easy it is to maneuver is,
- 37:54is really nice. And I still have like two full cases of 20.
- 37:58So I'm like, at some point, these have got to go. Yeah.
- 38:05For chokes dad Pattern Master Code Black Duck,
- 38:10seems to be the most reliable one I've had I've tried a couple different ones
- 38:14but I honestly I like the improved cylinder modified Invector Plus chokes come
- 38:20with the guns I think those are honestly the most reliable,
- 38:23most consistent patterning jokes I've ever shot but for Geese I like to have
- 38:28that Code Black Duck and I just use it year round now so I bought it for Geese
- 38:34and then I just left it in the gun one year and it stayed in there.
- 38:38Hopefully it's not welded like mine is. No, no. Both of my chokes can't be removed.
- 38:44Well, they're for a while until you just recently got another one of them.
- 38:49You were just switching it back and forth from your X3 and X4, weren't you?
- 38:54Yeah, sometimes. Sometimes I just leave the X4 with modified in there. Yeah.
- 38:59But yeah, if I wanted to, I'd switch it back and forth. I'd like to go back
- 39:03to just running the improved cylinder on the non-windy days and the modified
- 39:06on the rest of the days. Right.
- 39:10Improved cylinder's fun to shoot whenever it's not windy, but anything over
- 39:1410 mile an hour, you probably should put a modified in. Yeah.
- 39:18Because you ain't going to have no luck. Yeah, I shot quite a few ducks with
- 39:22that improved in that Winchester before I even got that cremator early this year.
- 39:27Did just fine for me, but yeah, with how windy it was, like every day out in
- 39:32North Dakota, I'm like nah we gotta change this,
- 39:37we had quite a bit of wind up there that is for sure that last day was really windy oh yeah yeah.
- 39:45That's pretty much going to wrap it up for this week unless you guys got anything
- 39:49to add I don't think so I don't think so either perfect.
