- 0:02Speaker 2: She's on the Money.
- 0:14Speaker 3: Hello and welcome to She's on the Money, the podcast
- 0:17Speaker 3: for millennials who want financial freedom.
- 0:20Speaker 1: This is our Friday Drinks episode where.
- 0:22Speaker 3: We celebrate the money wins from our She's on the
- 0:24Speaker 3: Money community. There are so many great money wins and
- 0:27Speaker 3: confessions that are shared every single week in our Facebook group,
- 0:31Speaker 3: and our team spend a very big portion of each
- 0:33Speaker 3: day talking about you guys on our slack chat and
- 0:35Speaker 3: how impressed we are with your money wins. So it
- 0:37Speaker 3: only feels fair to share all of that info with you,
- 0:40Speaker 3: even though we are still recording remotely. We are celebrating
- 0:44Speaker 3: you and this episode is entirely for you, so sit
- 0:47Speaker 3: back and hopefully enjoy it. Friday is about celebrating our
- 0:51Speaker 3: community and having more positive and constructive conversations around money.
- 0:55Speaker 3: So let's jump straight into it. Tony, you are here
- 0:58Speaker 3: this week. What was this week's money Darry About?
- 1:02Speaker 4: This week, we chatted to a young woman who quite
- 1:06Speaker 4: a few years ago took off overseas, like quit her
- 1:09Speaker 4: day job, took off and started working in a monastery
- 1:13Speaker 4: and fell in love with a boy and at a
- 1:16Speaker 4: monastery at a monastery who he was not a monk.
- 1:20Speaker 5: I was going to say, is that street.
- 1:23Speaker 4: He was also volunteering. It's okay, all checks out, and
- 1:27Speaker 4: we did check it out.
- 1:28Speaker 1: We did us.
- 1:29Speaker 3: We asked a lot of questions, a lot of real
- 1:31Speaker 3: perfect questions where they hold up you met at a
- 1:33Speaker 3: monastery and we're expected to believe this, and.
- 1:36Speaker 4: Ryan, you should know, because don't you listen to all
- 1:38Speaker 4: of our episodes?
- 1:40Speaker 6: I do?
- 1:41Speaker 3: Okay, So right, what was it about this week the
- 1:44Speaker 3: monastery and then what happened?
- 1:46Speaker 1: What's her job now? Ryan?
- 1:49Speaker 7: Her job is just to live her best life and
- 1:51Speaker 7: she continues to do so.
- 1:52Speaker 4: I mean, she most correct, almost correct yet apart from
- 1:56Speaker 4: the thing, apart from how.
- 1:58Speaker 1: She's about to become a priest.
- 2:00Speaker 5: That being the thing.
- 2:02Speaker 4: So her mom took out her mom took out a
- 2:05Speaker 4: massive loan to get her home and fill out you know,
- 2:09Speaker 4: a partnership visa and all of that, and went into
- 2:11Speaker 4: a bit of debt over it. And yeah, she paid
- 2:13Speaker 4: off all the debt and now she's about to become
- 2:15Speaker 4: a priest. And it was really cool, so cool. So
- 2:19Speaker 4: because this week our money, Doris was a priest, and
- 2:21Speaker 4: the week before that we had a stripper. So it
- 2:24Speaker 4: was amazing.
- 2:27Speaker 1: We literally we can't predict it.
- 2:29Speaker 3: I really loved that Tony because I felt like she
- 2:32Speaker 3: was just so open and honest and kind, and the
- 2:35Speaker 3: fact that her and her partner both want to become
- 2:37Speaker 3: priests and feel like they have this wholesome, exciting lives,
- 2:41Speaker 3: and I just, I honestly loved hearing her story. And
- 2:44Speaker 3: we talked about the episode where we had our friend
- 2:46Speaker 3: the stripper on and she was just like yep. I
- 2:48Speaker 3: loved that she was, you know, living her best life
- 2:51Speaker 3: and felt really confident in herself, and I just felt
- 2:53Speaker 3: like it was an important story to share because we
- 2:56Speaker 3: all come from such diverse backgrounds and have different experiences,
- 3:00Speaker 3: but we all kind of relate and we all have
- 3:02Speaker 3: something in common and we're all kind of working here
- 3:04Speaker 3: at She's on the money towards a very common goal,
- 3:07Speaker 3: which is just feeling heard and feeling understood and you know,
- 3:10Speaker 3: being on the same page when it comes to finances
- 3:12Speaker 3: and you know, being empowered. So I loved that Money
- 3:15Speaker 3: Diary for that reason.
- 3:17Speaker 4: She was also a mega investor. She's invested like so
- 3:20Speaker 4: much money, She's got a crazy investment profile. Like she
- 3:23Speaker 4: honestly a really really interesting person. So if you're interested whatsoever,
- 3:27Speaker 4: which you definitely would be from hearing that, have a
- 3:30Speaker 4: listen to this week's money Tarry because it was like
- 3:33Speaker 4: a rollercaster.
- 3:35Speaker 1: It really was.
- 3:36Speaker 3: It really was, And I didn't know anything about it
- 3:39Speaker 3: before we did it, and I was just like, wait,
- 3:40Speaker 3: what you're doing?
- 3:42Speaker 1: What?
- 3:43Speaker 3: So it was very exciting and it was kind of like, oh,
- 3:45Speaker 3: I met my partner at a monastery and I was like,
- 3:47Speaker 3: hold up, friend, why were you at a monastery? She's
- 3:49Speaker 3: like okay, well, and it just it didn't take the
- 3:52Speaker 3: turns I expected. But I'm just so grateful for that story.
- 3:54Speaker 3: I feel like we learn a lot from it. Georgia,
- 3:57Speaker 3: did we have just as interesting a deep Wednesday?
- 4:00Speaker 6: Maybe not as interesting, but I think it was still
- 4:03Speaker 6: pretty good. Hoes with me, Ah, it.
- 4:06Speaker 1: Was pretty good.
- 4:07Speaker 3: It was pretty good for those who missed it. What
- 4:10Speaker 3: did we miss out on this week?
- 4:12Speaker 6: This week we spoke about career changes, which is something
- 4:16Speaker 6: I think a lot of people in our community are
- 4:19Speaker 6: really well. It's a conversation that we have a lot
- 4:22Speaker 6: because careers, I guess, is something that we have to
- 4:26Speaker 6: pick when we're in year twelve and like we're seventeen,
- 4:29Speaker 6: we don't know what's going on, so we kind of
- 4:32Speaker 6: we spoke about how to figure out where you want
- 4:34Speaker 6: your career to go if you do want to change it.
- 4:37Speaker 3: I feel like it was another one of those episodes
- 4:40Speaker 3: that was really impactful, but still a little bit fluffy,
- 4:44Speaker 3: not in a bad way, just more around. You need
- 4:46Speaker 3: to be empowered, you need to be confident, You need
- 4:48Speaker 3: to follow your dreams and what you want to do,
- 4:50Speaker 3: not necessarily worry so much about what other people are doing,
- 4:52Speaker 3: which I feel like so many of us need at
- 4:55Speaker 3: this point, especially coming up to midyear when we're talking
- 4:58Speaker 3: about inter financial years. Just I feel like it's on
- 5:01Speaker 3: everybody's minds if they're not that comfy in their career
- 5:04Speaker 3: or their job, they are thinking like, oh, it's been
- 5:06Speaker 3: nearly six months. Oh my gosh, I can't believe it's
- 5:08Speaker 3: been six months. Because even me, who adores my job,
- 5:11Speaker 3: I'm still like, what, it's been six months.
- 5:13Speaker 1: It's June. That's crazy.
- 5:15Speaker 3: So I think it's a good time to have that conversation.
- 5:18Speaker 3: But also from our Facebook group perspective, there's been a
- 5:22Speaker 3: lot of career questions coming up and a lot of
- 5:24Speaker 3: people wondering what they should be doing as next steps
- 5:27Speaker 3: or you know, how do they navigate this? So it
- 5:29Speaker 3: just felt really well timed and I think you're a
- 5:31Speaker 3: good person to have that combo with it.
- 5:33Speaker 6: Yeah, Well, we spoke about why it's so important not
- 5:35Speaker 6: to just quit your day job right now, because it's
- 5:38Speaker 6: really important that we stay on top of our finances,
- 5:40Speaker 6: get those bills paid. But we spoke about strategies for
- 5:44Speaker 6: how you can go about starting that little next venture
- 5:48Speaker 6: if that is what you want.
- 5:50Speaker 1: Yeah, So it's a good episolutely.
- 5:51Speaker 3: I think something that's really important to touch on if
- 5:53Speaker 3: you did miss the episode is just that piece around.
- 5:57Speaker 3: It's actually really entitled to think you can quit your
- 5:59Speaker 3: job job and just go from there, like not many
- 6:02Speaker 3: people are in the position where they can quit their
- 6:04Speaker 3: job and just find their dream job, and that being
- 6:06Speaker 3: okay with your job at the moment is really cool.
- 6:09Speaker 3: And don't be worried if you're not where you want
- 6:12Speaker 3: to be right now, because that's the space where you
- 6:14Speaker 3: get to dream about the person you want to become,
- 6:16Speaker 3: and you get to create that person and you know,
- 6:18Speaker 3: plan for that reality in the walls that you're surrounded
- 6:21Speaker 3: with right now might not be the walls you want
- 6:23Speaker 3: to be surrounded.
- 6:24Speaker 1: With forever, but you actually get to plan.
- 6:27Speaker 3: That future from those walls, and you can't actually make
- 6:30Speaker 3: a plan unless you create that plan. And those walls,
- 6:33Speaker 3: as much as they're the walls that you feel kind
- 6:35Speaker 3: of trapped by right now, they're the ones that are
- 6:37Speaker 3: going to support the ideas that your future becomes. And
- 6:39Speaker 3: I think that that was a really important point because
- 6:42Speaker 3: you know, you might be in a space that you're
- 6:44Speaker 3: just not that comfy or happy, and I think that
- 6:46Speaker 3: a lot of people are going through that feeling right now.
- 6:49Speaker 3: But if you start planning and start creating, you're going
- 6:51Speaker 3: to feel super comfy later and you'll look back and
- 6:54Speaker 3: be like, Wow, I'm so grateful for these experiences and
- 6:57Speaker 3: things I've gone through.
- 6:58Speaker 6: Yeah, beautifully put their v also spoke about how FOAMO
- 7:02Speaker 6: can really play into making career decisions and how Instagram
- 7:05Speaker 6: comes into it as well. So if you guys did
- 7:08Speaker 6: miss that episode, I would definitely recommend going back and
- 7:11Speaker 6: having listen.
- 7:12Speaker 3: I agree, now, Jess, we usually throw to you, what
- 7:15Speaker 3: are we drinking this week?
- 7:17Speaker 1: My friend?
- 7:18Speaker 8: Well, we're all in lockdown, so I have amandain juice
- 7:21Speaker 8: that I'm drinking that but rightnin juice.
- 7:26Speaker 1: Is not a thing. Where did you even buy that? Chess?
- 7:29Speaker 5: Come on, yes, I know I.
- 7:35Speaker 1: Who does that? What kind of savage are you?
- 7:39Speaker 2: You are bought at home in lockdown A feeling real
- 7:42Speaker 2: attacked right now.
- 7:44Speaker 8: But Ryan, you were chatting us up about a little
- 7:47Speaker 8: something that you had going on drinks. It sounds a
- 7:49Speaker 8: little more interesting than my amandain juice.
- 7:51Speaker 1: What do you mean I've got a drink bottle? Is
- 7:52Speaker 1: that not good? Tony and I have matching drink bottles.
- 7:56Speaker 7: So our glorious leader Victoria Divine bought a lot of
- 8:00Speaker 7: us on the team a provad or fancy dinner thing
- 8:02Speaker 7: last week, which is awesome.
- 8:04Speaker 3: Oh yeah, just so you know, I am a really
- 8:06Speaker 3: good person, Like I bought you guys vouchers for food.
- 8:09Speaker 1: Does it get better than that?
- 8:11Speaker 7: It does because you can add to it. I want
- 8:13Speaker 7: to send a shout out to the Everly Bottling Co.
- 8:15Speaker 5: And I'm showing you.
- 8:16Speaker 7: Guys on our screens as we're chatting. I got an
- 8:20Speaker 7: old fashion but there's heaps of these little pre made
- 8:22Speaker 7: cocktail little bottles and they're just like a bunch of
- 8:25Speaker 7: guys and girls in Collingwood. And because everyone's in lockdown,
- 8:28Speaker 7: they're making these like fun little takeaway packs and they
- 8:30Speaker 7: come in as you guys can see these fun little bottles.
- 8:32Speaker 5: They had all these different sorts. So the Everly.
- 8:34Speaker 7: Bottling Co and like I said, just a little Melbourne
- 8:36Speaker 7: business with a whole bunch of bar staff that are
- 8:38Speaker 7: out of work. So it's good that they can keep
- 8:40Speaker 7: busy and keep working and doing stuff. So we're all
- 8:43Speaker 7: in lockdown and separated from each other. But that's that's
- 8:46Speaker 7: our little.
- 8:46Speaker 3: Fun drink put in the show notes. So you guys
- 8:49Speaker 3: can support them as well, because the bomb them up. One,
- 8:52Speaker 3: those bottles are really cute. Two cocktails are really important
- 8:55Speaker 3: and really important for our mental health during lockdown. But three,
- 8:58Speaker 3: I think Jess and I are actually eyeing those bottles
- 9:01Speaker 3: off because they would actually.
- 9:02Speaker 1: Be perfect to propagate plants with.
- 9:04Speaker 3: So for anybody who read my mind, yeah, anybody who's
- 9:08Speaker 3: just been looking for the perfect bottle to stick your
- 9:10Speaker 3: cuttings in so that they can propagate, I feel like
- 9:12Speaker 3: that would be the piece to resistance kind of bottle.
- 9:15Speaker 3: You know.
- 9:16Speaker 7: Well, that's why it's empty bit still in the house
- 9:18Speaker 7: because there's and it's the same in our house with jars.
- 9:20Speaker 7: Anytime there's a good job, Bridges like, don't put that.
- 9:22Speaker 3: Out's bridget is my spirit animal, perfect for all your
- 9:26Speaker 3: liberated cuttings.
- 9:27Speaker 1: I yet liberated, not stolen. Liberated.
- 9:31Speaker 3: All right, let's move away from stealing plants again, Jess
- 9:35Speaker 3: and go straight into Ryan's community money wins.
- 9:38Speaker 1: What have you got fre uz this week? Ryan?
- 9:40Speaker 5: All right?
- 9:41Speaker 7: Now, there's a lady named Georgie, and I don't know
- 9:43Speaker 7: if you guys have seen this post. I assume she
- 9:45Speaker 7: works at like an appliance store or something like that,
- 9:48Speaker 7: because she said a customer brought in a broken five
- 9:52Speaker 7: hundred dollars coffee machine, like they brought it back into
- 9:54Speaker 7: the store and said, I think this is broken. Right,
- 9:57Speaker 7: The supplier said, destroy the machine, give them a new one,
- 10:00Speaker 7: done and dusted. But our mate, George, yeah, so our
- 10:02Speaker 7: mate jew And apparently that must be common in retail.
- 10:05Speaker 5: Yep, it's broken, just replaced it, get rid of it.
- 10:06Speaker 1: But destroy it. Can't we donate it?
- 10:09Speaker 5: Well? This is where Georgie comes into her own.
- 10:11Speaker 7: She says to the boss, Hey, I know that's kind
- 10:13Speaker 7: of been written off, but can I just take it
- 10:16Speaker 7: home and see if I can't get it working? So
- 10:18Speaker 7: Georgie takes it home, she says, a few screws and
- 10:20Speaker 7: a bit of you know, elbow grease. Not only is
- 10:23Speaker 7: the coffee machine working, she now has a beautiful coffee
- 10:26Speaker 7: machine in her own house that she's allowed to keep,
- 10:28Speaker 7: which she got for free.
- 10:29Speaker 5: Yeah, and double money win, says Georgie.
- 10:32Speaker 7: She now does not spend four dollars fifty a day
- 10:35Speaker 7: at the cafe getting a flat wine, and she's making
- 10:37Speaker 7: her own coffees. Double money win for Georgie.
- 10:40Speaker 3: That is that the money win if ever I heard one, especially,
- 10:43Speaker 3: you know, I'm a bit partial to a good coffee.
- 10:46Speaker 1: I hope she's using.
- 10:48Speaker 5: I'm sure she is. So.
- 10:53Speaker 7: I don't know if any other people have had this,
- 10:54Speaker 7: but I know a lot of that. She's on the
- 10:56Speaker 7: money community students and young and have concession cards, healthcare
- 11:00Speaker 7: cards and stuff. Right, So Nicole said, money win. I
- 11:03Speaker 7: was chatting to my gas and electricity provider just to
- 11:05Speaker 7: check everything was on, you know, going to plan, and
- 11:08Speaker 7: I was all in, And it turns out they hadn't
- 11:10Speaker 7: ticked the box that said she's in fact a concession
- 11:13Speaker 7: card holder. So she got a five hundred and eighty
- 11:16Speaker 7: six dollars refund because they backdated it. Since the time
- 11:19Speaker 7: that they thought they'd put in the little tick that they.
- 11:21Speaker 1: Hadn't ticked the box money win, Oh my god.
- 11:24Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 11:24Speaker 7: So if you are one of those people that you
- 11:27Speaker 7: know it's for a lot of things, electricity, gas, even
- 11:30Speaker 7: your my key card, train tickets, use cheap your student
- 11:33Speaker 7: double check.
- 11:34Speaker 3: Yeah five, and if you're not sure, just call up
- 11:37Speaker 3: and say, excuse me, I was just wondering. And if
- 11:40Speaker 3: you're a mel Bernie and I know you've got the
- 11:42Speaker 3: time for it at the moment, you have literally no
- 11:44Speaker 3: excuse my friends.
- 11:47Speaker 7: Absolutely so Victoria, yes, this is like a two parter
- 11:52Speaker 7: right first, because it's about shoes.
- 11:54Speaker 5: So I want to get your thoughts on this.
- 11:56Speaker 7: Kelly says, I saw a pair of shoes on Instagram
- 11:59Speaker 7: that I really liked. So what I do is when
- 12:01Speaker 7: I'm sitting on the couch late at night and I
- 12:03Speaker 7: find something, I put it in the cart, but I
- 12:05Speaker 7: just leave it in the cart overnight and then if
- 12:07Speaker 7: I still want to buy them the next day, that's
- 12:10Speaker 7: my strategy. How do we feel about this strategy?
- 12:12Speaker 3: I mean, I'm playing yeah, okay, Jess, right, no, the
- 12:18Speaker 3: question was the okay oh sorry, no, no, no, no, no,
- 12:22Speaker 3: I'm kidding, I'm kidding.
- 12:23Speaker 8: A marketing tactic to get people to purchase product is,
- 12:26Speaker 8: more often than not, if you leave something in your
- 12:28Speaker 8: cart for twenty four hours, there's an auto email that
- 12:30Speaker 8: kicks in with a discount Coade to prompt you to
- 12:32Speaker 8: make the purchase.
- 12:33Speaker 5: So you can do it. If you're going to buy
- 12:34Speaker 5: it anyway, you just wait a day a discount.
- 12:37Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 12:37Speaker 8: More often than not, it's like a like, you know,
- 12:39Speaker 8: you get those Hey, did you leave something in your cart?
- 12:42Speaker 8: Like a like a lot of companies will have that,
- 12:44Speaker 8: and it's a marketing tactic to encourage people who forgot
- 12:47Speaker 8: about purchases or elected not to make them. So if
- 12:50Speaker 8: you're planning on buying something, do it, wait twenty four
- 12:52Speaker 8: hours and just see if you get one.
- 12:53Speaker 7: All right, that is not Kelly's money in, but that
- 12:55Speaker 7: is a great money in, nonetheless, and sucked into every
- 12:59Speaker 7: company that's now going to have everyone just loitering in the.
- 13:02Speaker 1: Car waiting be so annoyed.
- 13:05Speaker 7: So anyway, Kelly had put the thing in, put the
- 13:07Speaker 7: shoes into the cart, and was like, Okay, I'll see
- 13:09Speaker 7: what happens. See if I still really want to pay
- 13:11Speaker 7: for it, See if I get a discount. Then, because
- 13:13Speaker 7: the cookies and stuff knew that she was looking at
- 13:15Speaker 7: the website, she gets this sponsored post from the same
- 13:17Speaker 7: company saying we're having a competition.
- 13:20Speaker 5: You could win a free pair of shoes.
- 13:22Speaker 7: So she said, I got the pair of shoes I
- 13:24Speaker 7: wanted for free, and I got a pair for my
- 13:26Speaker 7: friend as well. That's a three hundred ninety money in
- 13:28Speaker 7: for the tool of us without spending a.
- 13:30Speaker 4: S Okay, that's not that's the wait, she why that
- 13:33Speaker 4: never happens? People actually win those things. I ender competitions
- 13:38Speaker 4: on the time.
- 13:40Speaker 1: Oh my gosh.
- 13:41Speaker 3: I actually to chime in with my own self centered story, guys,
- 13:45Speaker 3: I actually won when I was at UNI two pairs
- 13:48Speaker 3: of Tony Bianco shit. That's good, Yeah, money win. I
- 13:52Speaker 3: won them on Instagram way back when literally the only
- 13:55Speaker 3: thing I got apart from.
- 13:56Speaker 1: That time I want a year. That was pretty good too.
- 13:59Speaker 3: Yeah, but I won these shoes, and I remember really
- 14:03Speaker 3: ruminating over the purchase because you know how expensive Towny
- 14:06Speaker 3: Banco shoes can be. Like, they're not like eighty dollar shoes.
- 14:09Speaker 3: They're upwards of like one hundred and fifty dollars a pair,
- 14:11Speaker 3: So that's speno. So anyway, I had two vouchers for
- 14:15Speaker 3: two pairs of shoes, and I was so excited, and
- 14:17Speaker 3: I picked what I thought would be kind of like timeless,
- 14:20Speaker 3: and I'd use them all the time and i'd wear
- 14:22Speaker 3: them out right, No, sir, no that looking back on that, Victoria,
- 14:27Speaker 3: a pair of platformed closed toe red Spaye shoes with bows.
- 14:31Speaker 1: On the side and a pair of platform.
- 14:33Speaker 3: Black heels with le black brim. They're not timeless, They're
- 14:37Speaker 3: not even classy.
- 14:38Speaker 1: What are you doing?
- 14:40Speaker 5: That sounds like the footwear edition of your Kitchen be really, Dad?
- 14:45Speaker 3: Oh my god, Yes, I don't even have them anymore,
- 14:48Speaker 3: because I genuinely don't even wear platform shoes anymore.
- 14:51Speaker 1: But I just don't know what I was thinking. I
- 14:52Speaker 1: remember just being like, I'm going to get so much
- 14:54Speaker 1: wear out of these. No, absolutely not.
- 14:58Speaker 3: I'll post a picture on my Instagra today so you
- 15:01Speaker 3: guys can see exactly what they looked like, because obviously
- 15:04Speaker 3: I was very proud of that win, and so I
- 15:07Speaker 3: did take a lot of photos of those shoes.
- 15:09Speaker 7: Hey, Sophie Marshall, she said, I did a proper clean
- 15:13Speaker 7: of my bedroom, which actually her definition of a proper
- 15:17Speaker 7: clean is I didn't just vacuum around the bed.
- 15:19Speaker 5: I actually vacuumed under it as well. And are you
- 15:24Speaker 5: guys all ready for a really big gasp?
- 15:26Speaker 7: And she said, look out, team, I found a two
- 15:30Speaker 7: dollar coin under my bed.
- 15:32Speaker 1: Money win. When it comes to coins, that is the
- 15:38Speaker 1: premium coin to find. What are you going to get
- 15:41Speaker 1: with that?
- 15:41Speaker 4: Like a sausage SI or from Bunnings or something like.
- 15:43Speaker 1: That's pretty good?
- 15:44Speaker 2: Yea, almost too. McDonald's soft serves.
- 15:48Speaker 1: Yeah, there you go.
- 15:49Speaker 5: You can get two thirty cent cones for less than
- 15:50Speaker 5: two dollars.
- 15:51Speaker 8: These days, apparently they're a dollar twenty now, Ryan.
- 15:55Speaker 4: We have had this argument on this podcast.
- 15:58Speaker 5: How old am I? How old am I?
- 16:02Speaker 2: And now conflation ran look it up. I'm sorry that
- 16:10Speaker 2: was mean.
- 16:11Speaker 3: Nope, that's Lee. That's staying in the podcast, Ryan. What
- 16:14Speaker 3: is your next money in?
- 16:16Speaker 5: I've got two more to go.
- 16:17Speaker 7: This second last one not its fun, but I just
- 16:20Speaker 7: think it's really important to share. Someone has said that
- 16:23Speaker 7: they really needed to see a psychologist, but they've put
- 16:26Speaker 7: it off because last time they had a bad experience
- 16:28Speaker 7: and it ended up being really expensive and they felt
- 16:30Speaker 7: like they didn't get much out of it. But she says,
- 16:33Speaker 7: I randomly came across this lady that works about five
- 16:36Speaker 7: minutes down the road and it's fully bulk build so
- 16:39Speaker 7: Medicare takes care of all of it.
- 16:41Speaker 5: It doesn't cost her a cent.
- 16:42Speaker 7: She said, I'm currently not working at the moment, which is,
- 16:44Speaker 7: you know, adding to the need to see someone and
- 16:47Speaker 7: speak to someone. So she's like, that's just really helped
- 16:50Speaker 7: me out. And considering a lot of us in lockdown
- 16:53Speaker 7: or just coming out of lockdown, just know that there
- 16:56Speaker 7: are actually a lot of options. I know, like I've
- 16:58Speaker 7: seen someone and sometimes it takes the second or third.
- 17:01Speaker 5: Professional to kind of click and go, yeah, they get me.
- 17:04Speaker 7: So the fact that this person wasn't put off by
- 17:06Speaker 7: a bad experience and then eventually found their person, I just,
- 17:09Speaker 7: I know, I think that's.
- 17:10Speaker 5: Really important to share it.
- 17:12Speaker 7: Yeah, So thank you very much to the lady that shaid.
- 17:15Speaker 7: I won't say her name because you know, just for
- 17:17Speaker 7: the privacy of the story, but I do really appreciate
- 17:19Speaker 7: you sharing it.
- 17:19Speaker 5: Because I think it's really important.
- 17:21Speaker 7: Now finally people might have seen this picture in the group,
- 17:25Speaker 7: and I actually love going through before this segment and
- 17:28Speaker 7: looking at all the money. It's actually really fun to
- 17:30Speaker 7: read through. But this one just has really got me
- 17:33Speaker 7: all worked up and excited. Her name is Alan, and
- 17:36Speaker 7: first of all, Alan, congratulations. She just purchased her first home.
- 17:43Speaker 5: Now. Because property is really expensive because.
- 17:45Speaker 2: Of jess inflation.
- 17:48Speaker 7: Alan got a house that needed a bit of renovations.
- 17:51Speaker 7: I feel like most people our aid. We can't get
- 17:53Speaker 7: the fully finished version. We get what we can and
- 17:56Speaker 7: we go, yeah, I've watched the block enough, I'll figure
- 17:57Speaker 7: it out. So Alan managed to find, and this is
- 18:02Speaker 7: blowing my mind, an entire complete secondhand kitchen from Facebook marketplace.
- 18:09Speaker 2: She manifested it.
- 18:10Speaker 7: She did that six hundred dollars for an entire kitchen
- 18:15Speaker 7: and the kitchen sink. She said, a cod to paint
- 18:20Speaker 7: some secondhand appliances. I did the tiling myself. A whole new, gorgeous,
- 18:25Speaker 7: brand new looking kitchen for less than three thousand dollars.
- 18:28Speaker 7: And as someone who loves looking at houses and pictures,
- 18:31Speaker 7: I can confirm unbelievable.
- 18:34Speaker 5: It looks so great.
- 18:36Speaker 1: It didn't happen.
- 18:36Speaker 5: Guys, there's a.
- 18:37Speaker 7: Picture, Alan Britton, go and look in the thing. But
- 18:39Speaker 7: it's unbelievable to find a second hand kitchen on facing
- 18:42Speaker 7: credit place.
- 18:43Speaker 5: I am done. Cancel the segment we can't beat that.
- 18:47Speaker 1: I can't beat that.
- 18:48Speaker 3: I feel like that is an epic money win, Like
- 18:51Speaker 3: that's so much money that she would have saved. And
- 18:54Speaker 3: as someone who's literally looking into kitchens and right now
- 18:57Speaker 3: I much.
- 18:58Speaker 1: Afford a new one, we're talking, why haven't I looked there?
- 19:03Speaker 3: I could do this? Maybe, like probably not, but like
- 19:06Speaker 3: I'm hopeful. I'm hopeful, and it's just important to be positive.
- 19:10Speaker 4: No, you won't get it because you don't believe in
- 19:12Speaker 4: manifesting like Jess I do.
- 19:14Speaker 1: True, it's Ryan that doesn't believe in manifesting.
- 19:18Speaker 5: Well, I'm another one with a six hundred dollars kitchen,
- 19:20Speaker 5: So joke's on me.
- 19:31Speaker 3: All right, So we are back and Tony, you've got
- 19:34Speaker 3: something that you want to share with us, But you've
- 19:36Speaker 3: actually been gatekeeping this particular piece of content all week
- 19:39Speaker 3: and haven't let Georgia, Ryan or Jess see it or
- 19:43Speaker 3: understand it. So tell us what are you going to
- 19:46Speaker 3: share with the community. I hope it was worth the
- 19:48Speaker 3: gatekeeping that you have done.
- 19:50Speaker 4: Well, it's definitely not that good, and now you've really
- 19:52Speaker 4: built this up. So maybe if you're not interested, maybe
- 19:55Speaker 4: just skip forward a few minutes. But after the chat
- 19:59Speaker 4: this week about changing careers after you and g chatted
- 20:03Speaker 4: about it in the Deep Dive, and we've had heaps
- 20:05Speaker 4: of questions lately about people talking about car.
- 20:09Speaker 1: Hold on, hold on, are you going to quit?
- 20:13Speaker 3: I have come to the realization that and I just
- 20:16Speaker 3: wanted to share with you guys.
- 20:17Speaker 4: Now I know.
- 20:19Speaker 1: She quit her last job.
- 20:20Speaker 4: Guys, it is how I quit my last job.
- 20:23Speaker 1: Actually, she literally told about the podcast that.
- 20:26Speaker 5: She was doing podcasts. How many podcasts can you quit on?
- 20:33Speaker 4: But I think in the last year, lots of people
- 20:35Speaker 4: have had time with lockdowns and with COVID, have had
- 20:39Speaker 4: time to reflect on their careers and thought, actually, know what.
- 20:42Speaker 4: This doesn't spark joy and it doesn't make me happy.
- 20:44Speaker 4: But someone posted in our group this week chatting about redundancies,
- 20:49Speaker 4: So Jacqueline posted, would love to hear from people who
- 20:52Speaker 4: have come out the other side of a redundancy and
- 20:54Speaker 4: never looked back. I can apply for a redundancy and
- 20:57Speaker 4: the payout is significant. Would probably cut close to two
- 21:00Speaker 4: years of my current after tax salary, which is huge.
- 21:04Speaker 4: But I'm one of those risk averse people that has
- 21:07Speaker 4: been at the same organization for well over ten years,
- 21:10Speaker 4: the same role for six years, which I enjoy and
- 21:13Speaker 4: I love my team, and I've never been unemployed, so
- 21:15Speaker 4: jumping off this cliff seems really scary, but also it's
- 21:19Speaker 4: a once in a lifetime opportunity. But I wanted to
- 21:23Speaker 4: ask the if this is something you deal with a lot.
- 21:25Speaker 4: Do you see financial advice clients that have gone through redundancies?
- 21:31Speaker 3: Yes, and I actually have family and friends who have
- 21:33Speaker 3: gone through them. And sometimes redundancies aren't a choice, and
- 21:36Speaker 3: you just get told one day, hey, you've been made
- 21:39Speaker 3: redundant and the choice has been taken out of your hands,
- 21:42Speaker 3: and there is a redundancy payout. There's actually a redundancy
- 21:45Speaker 3: tax level, so to make sure that you're in the
- 21:48Speaker 3: best possible position, but it's a fickle position to be
- 21:51Speaker 3: in when someone says, hey, you've got the opportunity to
- 21:55Speaker 3: apply for a voluntary redundancy because it means that the
- 21:58Speaker 3: business needs to decrease their head count, but they're giving
- 22:01Speaker 3: you the opportunity to exit.
- 22:03Speaker 1: And yeah, it can be up to.
- 22:05Speaker 3: Two years worth of pay like if you've been working
- 22:08Speaker 3: for that company for upwards of ten years, like the
- 22:10Speaker 3: example you just gave, that could be a six figure payout,
- 22:14Speaker 3: and it could be you know, preferentially taxed in a
- 22:17Speaker 3: way that you kind of go, well, that's actually an
- 22:20Speaker 3: opportunity to get ahead if you know that you're employable
- 22:24Speaker 3: and you're able to actually, you know, find another role
- 22:27Speaker 3: relatively easy.
- 22:28Speaker 1: I think it's one.
- 22:29Speaker 3: Of those opportunities that are a bit of a once
- 22:31Speaker 3: in a lifetime thing, like someone's essentially saying, hey.
- 22:34Speaker 1: Do you want Tony, I'm going to give you an
- 22:36Speaker 1: entire house deposit.
- 22:37Speaker 3: I'm going to give you, you know, an investment portfolio
- 22:41Speaker 3: if you quit your job. But I think the thing
- 22:43Speaker 3: to really take into consideration there is one, she says
- 22:46Speaker 3: she loves her job, so maybe it's not worth it.
- 22:48Speaker 3: But two, how re employable are.
- 22:51Speaker 7: You just on that vee? Are you able to have
- 22:53Speaker 7: a look around on seeking LinkedIn? Get it before you
- 22:57Speaker 7: even decide.
- 22:58Speaker 3: Totally, And it's not illegal to do your You may
- 23:00Speaker 3: and start applying for jobs the second you've got some
- 23:03Speaker 3: kind of inkling that that might even be offered to you.
- 23:06Speaker 3: I'm very much put your fishing rod out there and
- 23:09Speaker 3: see if you catch away or come to girl. But
- 23:12Speaker 3: I think that you know, if it's something that you
- 23:14Speaker 3: could be re employed relatively easily, then absolutely consider it.
- 23:18Speaker 3: But I don't think that there's a right or wrong
- 23:20Speaker 3: or a right way to go about this. Like, if
- 23:22Speaker 3: it works for you, fantastic, If you see the benefit
- 23:25Speaker 3: of doing it, then great.
- 23:27Speaker 7: Can I throw a random thought at V of course,
- 23:29Speaker 7: with the example we've just heard from Tony, I don't
- 23:33Speaker 7: know why, but in my mind it's one of those
- 23:36Speaker 7: if you're wanting to leave anyway, or maybe needing a
- 23:38Speaker 7: push or some encouragement because you wanted to go.
- 23:41Speaker 5: Maybe.
- 23:41Speaker 7: But the fact that she actually said, I actually quite
- 23:43Speaker 7: like it here and I'll get along with everyone. For me,
- 23:46Speaker 7: I don't know why, that just stuck out in my
- 23:48Speaker 7: mind and made me feel a bit, a bit or
- 23:50Speaker 7: uncomfortable considering like you said, it's so competitive out there
- 23:54Speaker 7: that if you're on a good thing, whereas if you're
- 23:56Speaker 7: kind of wanting to leave anyway, hey, what a great opportunity.
- 23:59Speaker 5: But if you don't want to leave.
- 24:00Speaker 3: I'm quite conservative, so I'd probably say, oh, no, thank you,
- 24:03Speaker 3: Like I love my job, I don't want to.
- 24:05Speaker 1: Leave if I was employed.
- 24:06Speaker 3: But also I know people who have been erring on
- 24:09Speaker 3: the side of oh should I leave? I don't know,
- 24:12Speaker 3: this is such a good job but I haven't experienced
- 24:14Speaker 3: anything outside of this business, and I'm not sure if
- 24:16Speaker 3: I take the next step or not. I've got really
- 24:18Speaker 3: great career progression here. I think, like I'm just not
- 24:21Speaker 3: you know, nothing's really come to me. And then when
- 24:24Speaker 3: voluntary redundancy was on the table, they were like, all right,
- 24:26Speaker 3: that's the push I need. Like, I want my payout.
- 24:29Speaker 3: I'm going to go find a new role, even if
- 24:30Speaker 3: it's really similar to what I'm doing right now and
- 24:33Speaker 3: it's not necessarily.
- 24:34Speaker 1: A step up. I got that payout to make that.
- 24:37Speaker 3: Everybody ideally wants a stable level of employment and that's
- 24:41Speaker 3: why you're loving the job that you've got, because of
- 24:44Speaker 3: the stability it ForWords.
- 24:45Speaker 1: You and maybe the team that surrounds you.
- 24:46Speaker 3: So it would be a really big change, and I
- 24:48Speaker 3: just I don't know, what would you guys do, Jesse?
- 24:51Speaker 1: If I offer do a hoop of money to leave
- 24:53Speaker 1: she's on the money? Is that where you're off to?
- 24:56Speaker 8: It would depend how much money, to be honest, like,
- 24:59Speaker 8: I really haven like long enough.
- 25:01Speaker 5: What is saying with Victoria really worth to you? Jess?
- 25:04Speaker 1: It's worth a lot, I hope.
- 25:05Speaker 3: But also like if I offered you a voluntary redundancy.
- 25:08Speaker 3: You could go work for like my Millennial money or something.
- 25:11Speaker 2: Oh, Glenn James, please take me. I love your Jess.
- 25:14Speaker 2: You could have two, you could have two jesses.
- 25:16Speaker 1: Just sweat no.
- 25:19Speaker 8: But like as someone who's been made redundant, Like on
- 25:22Speaker 8: the flip side of that, I was made redundant twice
- 25:24Speaker 8: in eighteen months.
- 25:26Speaker 2: That's the same company.
- 25:27Speaker 1: Yeah, from the same company. I don't even know that.
- 25:31Speaker 8: So I worked in real estate, and as you know,
- 25:34Speaker 8: real estate is really up and down.
- 25:36Speaker 2: And so the.
- 25:38Speaker 8: Person I worked for the first time restructured her team.
- 25:42Speaker 8: She ended up getting pregnant, which was very exciting, and
- 25:45Speaker 8: there was just a shift in the dynamic and in
- 25:47Speaker 8: the workload, and obviously I wasn't needed. So I was
- 25:50Speaker 8: made redundant. And I ended up, like within four days
- 25:53Speaker 8: of being made redundant, another agent who worked for the
- 25:55Speaker 8: same company at a different office, who I had met previously,
- 25:59Speaker 8: heard what had happened and was like, if you want
- 26:01Speaker 8: a job, it's yours, Like I know that you're great,
- 26:03Speaker 8: Like whatever, come work for me, which I did. And
- 26:05Speaker 8: then the market bottomed out within eight months and they
- 26:11Speaker 8: laid off probably four or five people in my office
- 26:15Speaker 8: and they ended up sending a lot of the work overseas.
- 26:17Speaker 1: So yeah, so friend divine one and that's how we
- 26:22Speaker 1: got Jess.
- 26:25Speaker 2: But it's just one of those things, like it's hot.
- 26:27Speaker 8: I think this situation is really great because she has
- 26:30Speaker 8: the opportunity to make a decision, and I think, as
- 26:33Speaker 8: you were saying, it sounds like she's leaning towards staying.
- 26:36Speaker 8: And I think that there's nothing wrong with that. If
- 26:39Speaker 8: you are happy and you like your job, there's no
- 26:41Speaker 8: reason that you should feel like a certain amount of
- 26:43Speaker 8: money will buy you out.
- 26:45Speaker 2: Essentially, would be my perspective.
- 26:47Speaker 1: I mean, everything's got a christ though, No, I mean
- 26:50Speaker 1: ten years.
- 26:51Speaker 8: That would be a really nice, really nice redundancy, Absolutely
- 26:55Speaker 8: enough to make me think about it, that's for sure.
- 26:58Speaker 1: I am hurt.
- 26:59Speaker 5: Georgia. What do you think we do? You take the cat?
- 27:01Speaker 6: It is a really hard one and it probably depends
- 27:04Speaker 6: on her financial position right now as well. But what
- 27:08Speaker 6: I would say is that you really can't undervailue the
- 27:12Speaker 6: power of a good team and people that you love
- 27:15Speaker 6: coming to work and seeing every day. Like for me,
- 27:18Speaker 6: I would rather earn peanuts and come to a team
- 27:22Speaker 6: that I love every day rather than go to a
- 27:24Speaker 6: workplace that I hate, but I'm making bank, you know,
- 27:27Speaker 6: so that's something to consider as well. Not that the
- 27:30Speaker 6: new workplace would be like that, but it's something to
- 27:34Speaker 6: kind of thank Georgia.
- 27:35Speaker 1: It doesn't work for us, guys, No, I don't.
- 27:38Speaker 8: Work here, peanuts people, or are we the rude people
- 27:44Speaker 8: which camp Bowie your peanuts too?
- 27:47Speaker 1: Guys, that's not true, Tony, what do you reckon?
- 27:52Speaker 4: Well, so I'm a super cautious person, so when I
- 27:56Speaker 4: saw the post, I was like, oh my god, don't
- 27:58Speaker 4: do it. Stay at the job. But there is like
- 28:00Speaker 4: two hundred comments on here saying do it, do it,
- 28:03Speaker 4: do it, do it. You won't regret it. I took
- 28:05Speaker 4: a redundancy and it was the best thing that ever
- 28:08Speaker 4: happened to me. Obviously, I think that a lot of
- 28:10Speaker 4: these people saying this have taken it by choice. It
- 28:14Speaker 4: hasn't been forced upon them, which obviously we can't comment
- 28:18Speaker 4: on because only Jess has been made redundant, and I
- 28:21Speaker 4: mean it led her here, so she's fine. But yeah,
- 28:24Speaker 4: there's so many people. I was really surprised, like older
- 28:27Speaker 4: people that have taken voluntary redundancies and never looked back.
- 28:32Speaker 4: And it was the best decision that they ever made.
- 28:34Speaker 4: And a comment here that I know that Ryan, you
- 28:36Speaker 4: will love because it sounds just like an anecdote that
- 28:38Speaker 4: you would spout that says, take the plunge. Ships are
- 28:42Speaker 4: safe in the harbor. But that's not what ships are
- 28:44Speaker 4: built for.
- 28:45Speaker 7: I mean, I love, But why am I penciled in
- 28:48Speaker 7: as the guy that loves inspirational?
- 28:50Speaker 1: Because you always say quotes about ships.
- 28:52Speaker 2: I was going to say you love quotes about it?
- 28:54Speaker 1: You always say, have you got a different quote for us?
- 28:58Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 28:58Speaker 5: Well my mum always said I was full of ship.
- 29:00Speaker 4: Sir Ah nice, very good, very good.
- 29:06Speaker 3: I quit alright with that wrap, Ryan, I think we
- 29:09Speaker 3: move on to our team money, wins and confessions and
- 29:11Speaker 3: then wrap the show and head off. So who is
- 29:14Speaker 3: going to volunteer his tribute to go first?
- 29:17Speaker 1: Oh good? I want to dominate someone, but we've got
- 29:22Speaker 1: g King jumping in.
- 29:23Speaker 6: What does she want to get it out of the way?
- 29:25Speaker 6: Oh no, I'm going to double down on my newsletter recommendation.
- 29:28Speaker 6: If anyone read it from last.
- 29:31Speaker 2: Week, did you get gas stro from the shrimp?
- 29:35Speaker 1: No?
- 29:35Speaker 2: Because it is great shrimp.
- 29:37Speaker 1: So for those of you who don't know what I did,
- 29:40Speaker 1: you recommend.
- 29:41Speaker 6: This gorgeous brand of frozen prawns. You can get about
- 29:46Speaker 6: a kilo for maybe eighteen dollars. I can't quite remember
- 29:49Speaker 6: the price. Tony's vomity. Something's happening.
- 29:53Speaker 3: Sorry, Tony obviously didn't read our newsletter.
- 29:57Speaker 8: Girls, ily recommend sign up on our sie Gee King
- 30:01Speaker 8: writes an impeccable newsletter with many many Harry Styles gifts.
- 30:05Speaker 3: Oh yeah, I cannot tell you how many snorty laughs
- 30:08Speaker 3: I let out when I have to prefread that stuff.
- 30:10Speaker 1: Honestly, sometimes I'm like, Georgia, what have you done. She's like, no, no, no,
- 30:14Speaker 1: trust me. The people will love the prawns.
- 30:16Speaker 2: I don't know if they did.
- 30:18Speaker 6: But honestly, they are delicious. If you're looking for a
- 30:24Speaker 6: special treat for your Friday night guys, head down to
- 30:26Speaker 6: your local pick up a bag of prawns.
- 30:29Speaker 1: Pretty sure.
- 30:30Speaker 8: In the newsletter she referred to it as a bag
- 30:32Speaker 8: of peace, like just the letter piece.
- 30:35Speaker 6: So sorry, no, but if you are in the market,
- 30:38Speaker 6: couldn't recommend them highly enough. I can't remember the brand,
- 30:41Speaker 6: but we might link in the show notes maybe, so
- 30:44Speaker 6: keep an eye out.
- 30:45Speaker 3: We want we will not be thinking that I have
- 30:49Speaker 3: iron did and we are not linking to croosen prawns
- 30:52Speaker 3: in our show notes, Georgie.
- 30:54Speaker 2: You'll regret it. You'll regret it.
- 30:56Speaker 4: There's just no way.
- 30:58Speaker 3: Well, we might put it on our Instagram store is
- 31:00Speaker 3: as a reminder for those of you who missed out
- 31:02Speaker 3: on their newsletter recommendations with a little swipey uplink so
- 31:06Speaker 3: you can join and never miss out again. All right,
- 31:08Speaker 3: moving on from Georgia's hot deal, Jessica Ricci, what have
- 31:12Speaker 3: you got to share?
- 31:13Speaker 1: Can it compare?
- 31:14Speaker 8: Honestly, nothing could. But if you follow us on socials,
- 31:18Speaker 8: you might have heard I.
- 31:19Speaker 2: Got a kidd in.
- 31:20Speaker 5: You did yay?
- 31:22Speaker 2: You guys like yeah, like fifty times this week.
- 31:25Speaker 1: Stop putting it on zoom stick.
- 31:29Speaker 8: But my money when she's a beautiful, sweet little thing.
- 31:32Speaker 8: I adopted her from the Lost Dogs Home, but she's
- 31:35Speaker 8: a little bit older, so she's over twelve weeks, and
- 31:37Speaker 8: they were telling me that apparently most people want a
- 31:40Speaker 8: really little, tiny baby. Obviously she's still small, she's still
- 31:44Speaker 8: really playful. But because she was over twelve weeks, instead
- 31:47Speaker 8: of her adoption fee being three hundred dollars, it was
- 31:49Speaker 8: only one hundred and twenty.
- 31:51Speaker 1: That's the money win.
- 31:51Speaker 2: If it heard it, Yeah.
- 31:53Speaker 4: And you can't put the extra money for prostely just
- 31:57Speaker 4: like that, all right, So my money whin this.
- 32:00Speaker 7: I actually went through all my subscriptions and tried to
- 32:04Speaker 7: figure out what I need and don't need, and for
- 32:06Speaker 7: work stuff I have subscriptions to like audio production, sounds, Adobe,
- 32:13Speaker 7: audition and Photoshop, all these video stuff.
- 32:15Speaker 5: And I actually found one that I could pay.
- 32:18Speaker 7: A little bit more for and get access to, Like
- 32:21Speaker 7: the one big one replaced five smaller ones that I had,
- 32:24Speaker 7: if that makes sense. So just paying for a one
- 32:26Speaker 7: gold standard thing where I can get all these sound effects,
- 32:29Speaker 7: music beds and stuff like that. I paid heaps more
- 32:32Speaker 7: for that, and then I actually saved about two hundred
- 32:34Speaker 7: dollars a month.
- 32:35Speaker 5: Because I got to cancel it four other subscription.
- 32:37Speaker 3: So if anyone else want good music beds, hit up
- 32:40Speaker 3: Ryan for a link.
- 32:42Speaker 7: Well maybe not that specific one relatable, but checking your
- 32:45Speaker 7: subscriptions and actually thinking what you actually use and then
- 32:48Speaker 7: see if you can bundle them. There's heaps of money
- 32:51Speaker 7: to be saved. And that's a money win every month
- 32:53Speaker 7: because it's you know, on and on on one. So
- 32:55Speaker 7: that was a huge win for me.
- 32:57Speaker 2: That's a good one.
- 32:58Speaker 5: All right, V. What do you got?
- 32:59Speaker 1: Okay? I think that this is a very relatable money.
- 33:03Speaker 3: Loss, and you would have thought that being forced to
- 33:06Speaker 3: stay inside our houses would mean that I would indeed
- 33:09Speaker 3: eat the food I have.
- 33:10Speaker 1: At home, and that is not true. That is not
- 33:12Speaker 1: how this week has worked out.
- 33:14Speaker 3: Incorrect, incorrect, really really bad spending this week on food.
- 33:18Speaker 3: I feel like Uber Eats and I have become even
- 33:21Speaker 3: closer friends. I have been treating myself I've had in
- 33:24Speaker 3: the last two weeks, and this is not a flex.
- 33:26Speaker 3: I'm actually a little bit like, oh, I can't believe
- 33:29Speaker 3: we've done that. We've had two provid Or dinners and
- 33:32Speaker 3: that that stuff adds up. And while I feel like
- 33:34Speaker 3: we definitely deserved it, because it's been really hard this time,
- 33:37Speaker 3: especially last week when they told us that they were
- 33:39Speaker 3: extending it again, I've ordered a sneaky dinner that day
- 33:42Speaker 3: to just like give us something to look forward to
- 33:44Speaker 3: in ICE. But I just feel like it has felt
- 33:47Speaker 3: a bit harder this time, Like I feel like we're
- 33:49Speaker 3: all going a bit crazy a little bit sooner.
- 33:51Speaker 1: So you know, I'm not mad that I'm doing that,
- 33:54Speaker 1: but for my.
- 33:55Speaker 3: Health, I'm trying to be better this coming week, and
- 33:58Speaker 3: for the poor vegetables that are, you know, slowly becoming
- 34:02Speaker 3: really soft in the bottom of my.
- 34:04Speaker 2: Fridge, withering away.
- 34:06Speaker 1: Yeah, they're withering away.
- 34:07Speaker 3: I feel like I need to do the best by
- 34:09Speaker 3: them as well, So I'll definitely be prioritizing that in
- 34:11Speaker 3: the week to come. But I have been eating not
- 34:14Speaker 3: so well and it's been a little bit spento.
- 34:16Speaker 1: Like watching it add up.
- 34:17Speaker 3: Oh, like when Uber Eats reminds you that you've like upgraded,
- 34:21Speaker 3: I'm like, oh, please calm down.
- 34:22Speaker 1: You don't know that. Well.
- 34:24Speaker 7: I saw a meme that sums up your situation, Victoria,
- 34:27Speaker 7: and it's actually describing what you're describing. So it's like
- 34:31Speaker 7: a quote meme, and it says I might treat myself tonight,
- 34:34Speaker 7: and the quotes by me, the person who treats themselves daily.
- 34:39Speaker 1: That's that's me this week. I'm usually really good.
- 34:42Speaker 3: And you know, prior to Lockdown, Jess and I had
- 34:45Speaker 3: committed to taking lunch to work and we were just
- 34:48Speaker 3: being so good in the office and everybody was starting
- 34:51Speaker 3: to do it, and Tony shaking her head.
- 34:54Speaker 4: We were we were was that before I started?
- 34:57Speaker 1: No, it was.
- 35:00Speaker 5: Okay, how familiar.
- 35:06Speaker 1: Jess and I did start.
- 35:08Speaker 3: She's been making guacamole and we've been having glock and chips,
- 35:11Speaker 3: and then we've been eating rice cakes and peanut butter.
- 35:14Speaker 1: No one said it was balance, but we are eating
- 35:16Speaker 1: food that we brought from here.
- 35:18Speaker 7: We're gonna stop treating ourselves by making glocamo and chips
- 35:21Speaker 7: to have on a weekday lunch.
- 35:23Speaker 1: Stop it.
- 35:24Speaker 3: That's vegetables, and sometimes we would dip carrot sticks, and
- 35:28Speaker 3: that is balanced anyway, Tony, have you got a money
- 35:31Speaker 3: win or confession to round out this episode?
- 35:35Speaker 4: Mine's kind of similar to yours V because obviously, being
- 35:39Speaker 4: in Lockdown, it's been a long couple of weeks and
- 35:43Speaker 4: I I Am not someone who likes to hyperbole, but
- 35:49Speaker 4: it has been rough. And last week I talked about
- 35:52Speaker 4: how I'd been buying things online to try and make
- 35:54Speaker 4: myself feel better. So mine this week is kind of
- 35:59Speaker 4: a win because something that I ordered online they oversold it,
- 36:04Speaker 4: so I got the money back, and instead of tucking
- 36:07Speaker 4: the money back into my account, I put it into.
- 36:09Speaker 1: My Rais Girl.
- 36:13Speaker 4: So instead of just like enjoying the money that I
- 36:15Speaker 4: got back, I was like, you know what, that money's
- 36:17Speaker 4: already gone, So I'm going to tuck it away and
- 36:20Speaker 4: it's going to work for me instead of some new pets.
- 36:23Speaker 4: I'm going to have more money.
- 36:25Speaker 1: She's a genius.
- 36:27Speaker 4: I'd love that.
- 36:28Speaker 3: All right with that, Tony, I think that that is
- 36:30Speaker 3: all we have time for today. So just before we
- 36:33Speaker 3: head off, we'd like to acknowledge and pay respect to
- 36:35Speaker 3: Australia's Aboriginal and Torris Straight Islander people's. They're the traditional
- 36:39Speaker 3: custodians of the lands, the waterways and the skies all
- 36:42Speaker 3: across Australia. We thank you for sharing and for caring

- 36:47Speaker 3: We pay respects to elders past and present, and we
- 36:50Speaker 3: share our friendship and our kindness.

- 37:40Speaker 7: Amy this week you property did.
- 37:42Speaker 1: That's epic. She's gonna make us just.
- 37:45Speaker 4: Because I think it's funny. I don't know what it
- 37:47Speaker 4: was true.
- 37:49Speaker 5: Well, I read it somewhere.
