Tron: Ares (2025) — "End of line."
Tron is a franchise that seems to come back every fifteen to twenty years for another swing at bat, usually with arresting visuals and a killer soundtrack in tow. Tron: Ares (2025), directed by Joachim Rønning, sends Jared Leto's program Ares out of the Grid and into the real world, with Greta Lee, Evan Peters and a returning Jeff Bridges, and Nine Inch Nails on score. However, in more than 40 years has the franchise ever really escaped the gravity of the cult of cool that keeps it stylistically interesting but short on a truly engaging story? Seems like a question worth asking!
