- 0:18SPEAKER_01: It's not nearly as sexy as getting a thousand leads a month, but it's absolutely crucial to your success.
- 0:25SPEAKER_00: The Massive Age Podcast.
- 0:27SPEAKER_00: We lead generations strategies to get you more leads and sell more balls.
- 0:33SPEAKER_01: I love to buy houses.
- 0:34SPEAKER_01: I like to sell houses.
- 0:42SPEAKER_00: I've got better.
- 0:44SPEAKER_00: Oh, I got your attention now.
- 0:47SPEAKER_00: Here's your host, Dustin Brohm.
- 0:51SPEAKER_01: What is up, everybody?
- 0:52SPEAKER_01: Welcome to episode 126 of the Massive Agent Podcast.
- 0:56SPEAKER_01: Thank you for joining.
- 0:58SPEAKER_01: If you are new to the show, welcome.
- 1:00SPEAKER_01: I am your host, Dustin Brohm.
- 1:02SPEAKER_01: I'm a real estate agent in Salt Lake City with uh with EXP Realty, and I have been an agent for about nine years now, going on 10.
- 1:10SPEAKER_01: I am the co-founder of the Industry Syndicate Real Estates Podcast Network.
- 1:15SPEAKER_01: This show is a proud founding member of the Industry Syndicate Network.
- 1:19SPEAKER_01: I'm a national speaker on all things real estate marketing and podcasting, and I write a column for HousingWire.
- 1:25SPEAKER_01: Um, I'm also the founder of the Massive Agent Society.
- 1:28SPEAKER_01: That is our one agent per market lead gen coaching training online course program to teach agents how to take control of their lead generation by giving them ads to run that they can copy and paste and holding their hand along the way so that they can become masters.
- 1:44SPEAKER_01: Last week I mentioned one of our members, Wayne, in the Charlotte area, south of uh south of Charlotte in the suburbs, he had gotten 450 leads in three weeks.
- 1:53SPEAKER_01: Well, he he sent me a message the other day with a screenshot uh in the first five weeks of running ads, okay, and he had never run a Facebook ad himself prior to this.
- 2:05SPEAKER_01: He'd always outsourced it, but he'd never run an ad himself.
- 2:09SPEAKER_01: He had over 900 leads in the first five weeks.
- 2:13SPEAKER_01: It's just it's nuts.
- 2:14SPEAKER_01: And he's super stoked.
- 2:15SPEAKER_01: He's converted a bunch of them, not only to buyer clients, but he's gotten listings out of it as well.
- 2:20SPEAKER_01: Guys, here's a little secret about Facebook advertising.
- 2:22SPEAKER_01: Everyone's always like, I want seller leads, I want seller leads.
- 2:25SPEAKER_01: Great, so do I.
- 2:27SPEAKER_01: Honestly, the okay, if you don't like the answer, I'm sorry, it's just honest and true.
- 2:32SPEAKER_01: The best way to get seller leads is to run buyer ads for that appeal to those who are not first timers.
- 2:40SPEAKER_01: Uh by uh, what do they call it?
- 2:41SPEAKER_01: Uh move up buyers.
- 2:42SPEAKER_01: Um if the ad appeals to move up buyers, those that are buying their second, third, fourth, twentieth home, chances are they have a home to sell first.
- 2:51SPEAKER_01: So they need to sell that home before they can buy.
- 2:54SPEAKER_01: It's a great way to generate listings as well as buyers and double-sided deals if you're into that kind of thing.
- 3:00SPEAKER_01: Um, so go check that out.
- 3:02SPEAKER_01: Wayne has absolutely crushed it.
- 3:03SPEAKER_01: Uh, he's one of our I'm just I'm stoked to hear the results he's had in such a short period of time with that.
- 3:10SPEAKER_01: So uh if you are looking for similar results, if you want to learn how to run Facebook ads yourself and you want access to the same ad that he's running, you can uh go check out MassiveAgenSociety.com, check out if your market.
- 3:23SPEAKER_01: I have said checkout a lot today.
- 3:25SPEAKER_01: It's weird.
- 3:26SPEAKER_01: I know I say it quite a bit, but I feel like I've already reached my quota.
- 3:30SPEAKER_01: Go and look at go uh see all I want to do is say check out.
- 3:35SPEAKER_01: Go to MassiveAgenSociety.com and see if your market is available.
- 3:39SPEAKER_01: We only allow one agent per market to join.
- 3:43SPEAKER_01: And so there are markets in the country that are sold out already.
- 3:46SPEAKER_01: If yours is still available, you can claim it exclusively and be the only member in your market to have access to our program.
- 3:53SPEAKER_01: Go check it out.
- 3:56SPEAKER_01: Yeah, there you go.
- 3:57SPEAKER_01: Hopefully that's the last time I say checkout today, but I seriously doubt it.
- 4:02SPEAKER_01: Before I get into a much more serious topic today of stress, burnout, anxiety, uh, and how uh it's just it's the conversation that isn't happening, and I have a very personal story to share with you.
- 4:17SPEAKER_01: If you guys follow me on Instagram and saw my stories last week, you already know what's up.
- 4:22SPEAKER_01: That's really the only place I've shared it.
- 4:24SPEAKER_01: And guys, if you're if you're not following me on Instagram, first off, my feelings are hurt.
- 4:29SPEAKER_01: I'm very sensitive about these things.
- 4:30SPEAKER_01: So you've you've crushed me.
- 4:32SPEAKER_01: You've absolutely crushed me, but you have a chance to redeem yourself, just go to at MassiveAgent on Instagram and follow and watch the stories.
- 4:40SPEAKER_01: I don't post on the feed a lot.
- 4:42SPEAKER_01: There's some there's some great videos in there, but mostly I put all my best stuff, at least I think it is, on my Instagram stories.
- 4:49SPEAKER_01: So if you're not following, please do.
- 4:51SPEAKER_01: Uh anyhow, I'll share the story of what happened to me last week and and how I think it's just such an important conversation to have.
- 4:58SPEAKER_01: Because look, guys, without our health, we could sell a thousand homes this year, but if we're not healthy, or if we're about to die, or our heart is about to explode, what the hell good is it?
- 5:10SPEAKER_01: You know what I mean?
- 5:11SPEAKER_01: So um I'll tell you what happened, I'll tell you what became of it, where I'm at now, what I've learned from it, and what I think you uh are likely going through yourself and what you can do about it.
- 5:23SPEAKER_01: So uh before that, I I want to give a shout out to the Ferris team in Hawaii.
- 5:28SPEAKER_01: Okay, so there's this group.
- 5:31SPEAKER_01: Um how do I even word this here?
- 5:34SPEAKER_01: So most of the time, whenever you build a community, you start a Facebook group, right?
- 5:38SPEAKER_01: Facebook groups, everyone knows how to use them.
- 5:41SPEAKER_01: We're all on Facebook already.
- 5:42SPEAKER_01: It's so easy to just create a Facebook group for a community.
- 5:45SPEAKER_01: But what happens is sometimes people are like, I don't want another frickin' Facebook group.
- 5:50SPEAKER_01: And I feel the same way.
- 5:51SPEAKER_01: Like, I need another Facebook group, like I need a hole in the head.
- 5:55SPEAKER_01: And so uh sometimes having in it having like a uh a different destination to go to talk with people and to network and collaborate can be a great thing because it's separate, it's different, it doesn't get lost in the fray.
- 6:10SPEAKER_01: So the Ferris team run by Travis and Nisa Ferris and Zeus Kang from uh the Zeus Kang group, um, these guys teamed up, okay?
- 6:18SPEAKER_01: These are two different competing teams.
- 6:20SPEAKER_01: They teamed up to create a group called the Collaboration, and they've opened it up to agents all across the country.
- 6:26SPEAKER_01: I've been a member of it since they started it, really focused on Hawaii, but now they've opened it up to agents everywhere.
- 6:33SPEAKER_01: And so they don't know that I'm doing this today, that they're gonna be like, wait, why are there so many requests to join all of a sudden?
- 6:39SPEAKER_01: So, what they've done is they've created a Slack channel on Slack, obviously, you can't do a Slack channel on Facebook now, can you?
- 6:47SPEAKER_01: But a Slack channel uh where agents from all brokerages, all different stages of their career, all different walks of life, if you will, can come together and collaborate without worrying about uh being competitors.
- 6:59SPEAKER_01: It's absolutely amazing.
- 7:01SPEAKER_01: So uh I think that it works so well because it is separate from Facebook, it's not just another Facebook group that gets lost.
- 7:08SPEAKER_01: So you have to have the Slack app or access Slack on desktop.
- 7:12SPEAKER_01: I love it.
- 7:13SPEAKER_01: I love uh collaborating with these other agents from all across the country and networking and learning what's working for this agent in Honolulu or this agent in Alaska or in Seattle and contributing some stuff myself, but it's just such a powerful group.
- 7:28SPEAKER_01: So, guys, if you are looking to network with other agents, if you are looking to learn what other highly successful agents are doing and how they're doing it and why, you need to join this group called the Collaboration.
- 7:41SPEAKER_01: Now, since it's on Slack, it's not as simple as just going and requesting to join a Facebook group, but I've made it simple for you.
- 7:47SPEAKER_01: I've made a vanity URL that takes you right to a Google form they have set up.
- 7:51SPEAKER_01: So here's the thing you have to apply, it's completely free.
- 7:54SPEAKER_01: You have to apply.
- 7:56SPEAKER_01: They want to make sure that only like-minded people who are collaborative in nature can join.
- 8:01SPEAKER_01: All right, so it's not a very it's not a super rigorous application process, but they just want to find out who you are, what stage you're at in your career, what you're looking to do, all of that.
- 8:11SPEAKER_01: So uh very simply, if you want to join the collaboration, which I highly recommend, and they they do live masterminds on Zoom every once in a while that will dive deep on you know how to buy your first investment property as an agent and what you should do and all that stuff.
- 8:26SPEAKER_01: Go to MassiveAgent Podcast.com slash collab.
- 8:30SPEAKER_01: C O L L A B.
- 8:32SPEAKER_01: MassiveAgent Podcast.com slash collab.
- 8:35SPEAKER_01: Join it.
- 8:36SPEAKER_01: It's free.
- 8:37SPEAKER_01: Fill out the Google form real quick, and I will see you in there.
- 8:40SPEAKER_01: It's super cool.
- 8:40SPEAKER_01: They don't know the they don't know that I'm doing this.
- 8:43SPEAKER_01: Um, I'll let them know once this episode drops.
- 8:46SPEAKER_01: But I I hope that it gets well, as long as you guys are collaborative and awesome and want to play well with others, go join.
- 8:56SPEAKER_01: I'd love to have hundreds of you guys go join this amazing group called the Collaboration Um set up by the Ferris team and the Zeus Kang group out of Hawaii.
- 9:05SPEAKER_01: One more time, MassiveAgent Podcast.com slash collab and join the group.
- 9:11SPEAKER_01: All right.
- 9:12SPEAKER_01: So last week, if you guys were watching my Instagram stories, I shared that I was on my way to urgent care.
- 9:17SPEAKER_01: I went to have an EKG done.
- 9:19SPEAKER_01: I was worried that I might be having a mild heart attack.
- 9:22SPEAKER_01: I'm a fairly healthy person, and I have been for a while.
- 9:25SPEAKER_01: I mean, I I've I was an athlete in high school, I played a semester of college football, kind of.
- 9:31SPEAKER_01: I got injured, red-shirted, ended up leaving, stupid.
- 9:35SPEAKER_01: But uh like I've always been an athlete.
- 9:37SPEAKER_01: I've always always been active for the most part.
- 9:39SPEAKER_01: But I work my ass off.
- 9:41SPEAKER_01: And work has almost become an obsession, not not an obsession.
- 9:46SPEAKER_01: I really love it.
- 9:47SPEAKER_01: Uh, I think some people who are not entrepreneurs would look at me and be like, that guy's a workaholic.
- 9:53SPEAKER_01: Well, I enjoy what I do, and my mind never turns off.
- 9:56SPEAKER_01: I'm always thinking about work, and I do so many things myself that I should outsource, which is my first problem, that um the stress builds up.
- 10:06SPEAKER_01: Okay, so COVID-19 happens, we get locked down, stress for everyone gets increased dramatically, right?
- 10:13SPEAKER_01: Myself included.
- 10:15SPEAKER_01: Even those of us, like myself, who business has just been booming.
- 10:19SPEAKER_01: Like uh my my EXP team is damn near tripled.
- 10:23SPEAKER_01: Um, like ever my coaching program, Massive Agent Society, is doing well.
- 10:26SPEAKER_01: We're getting great members and lots of them.
- 10:28SPEAKER_01: Like uh everything is going well.
- 10:30SPEAKER_01: My my team here is selling homes, we're referring more deals out.
- 10:34SPEAKER_01: It's going very well.
- 10:35SPEAKER_01: But that also creates stress.
- 10:37SPEAKER_01: Okay, things don't have to be going poorly for you to get stressed out.
- 10:41SPEAKER_01: And what happened when the COVID-19 lockdown happened, when my gym closed, I made that stupid excuse that we all do, that many of us do, that, well, I can't work out today, right?
- 10:54SPEAKER_01: Even though I obviously could, I could do some burpees, some jumping jacks, I could go running, I could do push-ups, I could do a YouTube exercise video in my living room if I if I chose to, but I chose not to.
- 11:06SPEAKER_01: So about two months went by, March and April-ish, where I didn't exercise.
- 11:10SPEAKER_01: Um, I was my diet also went to absolute crap, uh, like most of us, because, you know, worried about what was in stock at the grocery stores, and we got a bunch of processed frozen foods to stock up on, and you know, the whole thing.
- 11:24SPEAKER_01: And I'm like, well, it's just temporary.
- 11:26SPEAKER_01: Well, during that time, every single day my stress was getting a little bit more and more, and I'd have a hard time relaxing, I'd have a hard time cooling off, I'd have a hard time um, what's the word?
- 11:37SPEAKER_01: Just like pausing, you know, and so slowly it started building up, and I didn't realize it, but I started feeling jittery.
- 11:45SPEAKER_01: Uh, and I look, I drink a lot of coffee, uh, at least I did until last week.
- 11:50SPEAKER_01: I was drinking, you know, three, four, five cups of coffee a day.
- 11:53SPEAKER_01: I I loved coffee.
- 11:55SPEAKER_01: I loved caffeine.
- 11:56SPEAKER_01: And and it kind of felt like that, but it was all the time.
- 11:59SPEAKER_01: And so I then I started noticing I had I'd have to take a deep breath just to like calm down.
- 12:05SPEAKER_01: I felt like I was getting all wound up and and balled up tight.
- 12:08SPEAKER_01: And so I'd have to consciously take a deep breath, almost like a sigh, just to kind of calm down for a second.
- 12:14SPEAKER_01: And I was doing this numerous times per hour, but then all of a sudden, uh last week I started getting chest pressure um to a point where it was almost pain.
- 12:24SPEAKER_01: And I'm like, uh this is not normal.
- 12:27SPEAKER_01: It's been gradually getting worse.
- 12:29SPEAKER_01: Uh, what the hell?
- 12:31SPEAKER_01: And so I luckily I have Teledoc.
- 12:34SPEAKER_01: Okay, that one of the benefits of the brokerage I'm with with EXP is we we get cheap access to Teledoc.
- 12:40SPEAKER_01: It's like uh 12 bucks a month for our family.
- 12:43SPEAKER_01: And so I got on Teledoc with the doctor, a little video call, and I just told them, hey, here's how I'm feeling, ask me some questions.
- 12:51SPEAKER_01: And they start asking me some questions, and I'm like, look, I'm worried about my heart.
- 12:55SPEAKER_01: And my I feel like my I've never had this pain before.
- 12:59SPEAKER_01: I worry that maybe I might be having a mild heart attack, or I will.
- 13:02SPEAKER_01: And they're like, you know what?
- 13:04SPEAKER_01: It sounds to me like stress, it sounds like anxiety.
- 13:08SPEAKER_01: Uh, and they I didn't know this, but nine out of ten times, according to them, that's their stat.
- 13:13SPEAKER_01: I don't I don't know if it's accurate.
- 13:14SPEAKER_01: Nine out of nine out of ten times someone thinks they're having a heart attack, it's often caused by stress or anxiety.
- 13:20SPEAKER_01: And so they're like, hey, you know what?
- 13:22SPEAKER_01: You're you're not having a heart attack right now.
- 13:25SPEAKER_01: So, but just to be safe, go to urgent care, take an EKG test to test your heart, to see what's going on, to check the rhythms and all that stuff.
- 13:33SPEAKER_01: So I'm like, okay, cool.
- 13:35SPEAKER_01: And just having that little bit of guidance uh and direction on who to go talk to and what to get helped me feel a little bit better.
- 13:42SPEAKER_01: But uh I then on the way there, I recorded an Instagram story, I told you guys what was going on.
- 13:47SPEAKER_01: A lot of you guys saw it, and you guys that that had kind words to say afterwards, thank you.
- 13:52SPEAKER_01: I really appreciate that.
- 13:55SPEAKER_01: Um, I get an EKG test done, super nervous, because I'm like, God damn it, what if something's wrong with my heart?
- 14:00SPEAKER_01: What am I gonna do?
- 14:02SPEAKER_01: You know, I start thinking about my family and my business, and I'm like, I haven't systemized my business the way that I've wanted to, the way that I should.
- 14:09SPEAKER_01: I still have so much more to do, so much more that I want to do.
- 14:11SPEAKER_01: You know, I start going down that road.
- 14:13SPEAKER_01: The EKG gets done, comes back normal, and I'm like, oh, thank God.
- 14:18SPEAKER_01: And I start feeling a lot better and I start talking to the doctor about stress and anxiety and and and all that stuff.
- 14:24SPEAKER_01: Um, he's like, look, are you are you an entrepreneur?
- 14:27SPEAKER_01: I said, yes.
- 14:28SPEAKER_01: He's like, okay, uh, tell me about your day.
- 14:30SPEAKER_01: And I I tell him, and he's like, he's like, how much exercise are you doing?
- 14:33SPEAKER_01: I'm like, uh none in the last in the last couple months.
- 14:36SPEAKER_01: He's like, how's your diet?
- 14:37SPEAKER_01: Uh absolute garbage over the last few months.
- 14:40SPEAKER_01: He said, Look, man, you've got to just do those common sense things that we've all known since we were kids that we need to do.
- 14:47SPEAKER_01: Exercise regularly and eat nutritious foods and and you know, meditate or breathe or go on walks or go in the mountains, if you have mountains, uh, all that stuff to reduce stress, take breaks.
- 15:02SPEAKER_01: All of none of that I was doing.
- 15:04SPEAKER_01: I wasn't doing any of that.
- 15:05SPEAKER_01: I was balls to the wall.
- 15:07SPEAKER_01: I'm just like, I can handle this, I can take it.
- 15:09SPEAKER_01: I love what I'm doing.
- 15:10SPEAKER_01: I'm building an empire, I'm crushing it, you know, blah.
- 15:14SPEAKER_01: And I now know the downside.
- 15:17SPEAKER_01: I now know what burnout feels like.
- 15:19SPEAKER_01: I now know the danger of stress.
- 15:22SPEAKER_01: And we've all heard this a million times.
- 15:23SPEAKER_01: Stress kills.
- 15:25SPEAKER_01: But I I was like, I got this.
- 15:27SPEAKER_01: I'm young, you know, I'm I'm almost 37.
- 15:29SPEAKER_01: I'll be 37 in June.
- 15:31SPEAKER_01: Uh, I I feel like I'm 16 in my in my mind, and you guys, you guys probably know exactly what I mean.
- 15:36SPEAKER_01: Um, but because I'm healthy and I love what I'm doing and I'm positive and all that stuff, I thought I was good to go, and that I didn't need to do anything specific out of my way to manage my levels of stress, but I was so wrong.
- 15:50SPEAKER_01: And so once I put this out on on Instagram, I got a lot of messages from you guys.
- 15:55SPEAKER_01: You're like, oh my gosh, I've had the same thing.
- 15:57SPEAKER_01: I've been having chest pressure, I've been feeling that jittery, uneasy feeling too, that just keeps getting a little bit worse every day, and I can't really relax, and I have to take deep breaths, and and I'm having trouble sleeping because I just all those little things on your to-do list just keep popping in your mind.
- 16:14SPEAKER_01: So you don't sleep very well.
- 16:16SPEAKER_01: That over time adds up, and that over time can kill you.
- 16:20SPEAKER_01: And thank God uh I started having that chest pressure because it put it on my radar.
- 16:26SPEAKER_01: Now I'm conscious of it.
- 16:28SPEAKER_01: So now I've been going to the luckily in Utah, the gyms have reopened.
- 16:32SPEAKER_01: They limit how many people can go in, and every other uh like exercise bike or every other treadmill is is closed off for social distancing, all that stuff.
- 16:41SPEAKER_01: But I've been going back to the gym, I've been eating a lot better because I'm conscious of it.
- 16:46SPEAKER_01: Guys, just being conscious of problems, conscious of weaknesses, conscious of things that uh that are problems in your life is huge.
- 16:55SPEAKER_01: So now I'm thinking every single day, am I getting stressed out?
- 16:59SPEAKER_01: Why?
- 16:59SPEAKER_01: Um, you know, do I need to take a break?
- 17:02SPEAKER_01: Should I take five minutes and breathe?
- 17:04SPEAKER_01: Um it's it's been so positive because if it wasn't for this, I would have just kept going and going and going and going because that's how I'm built.
- 17:13SPEAKER_01: I'm a high, uh, what is it on the disc profile, high D personality or uh red personality if it's the color thing.
- 17:20SPEAKER_01: Um like that's just me.
- 17:21SPEAKER_01: I just go, go, go.
- 17:23SPEAKER_01: Uh but guys, you can't keep going if you're in the hospital.
- 17:28SPEAKER_01: You can't keep going if you have a heart attack.
- 17:30SPEAKER_01: You can't keep going if you burn the hell out.
- 17:33SPEAKER_01: And I did.
- 17:35SPEAKER_01: So here's what I'm doing.
- 17:37SPEAKER_01: All right.
- 17:37SPEAKER_01: Um, hopefully this resonates with you.
- 17:39SPEAKER_01: Hopefully now at least you're conscious that this may be a problem for you.
- 17:43SPEAKER_01: And and and like I said, I think I squirreled and had a squirrel moment and got off track.
- 17:48SPEAKER_01: But I was getting a lot of messages from you guys um after I I posted about this in my stories last week, where you were saying, Hey, I feel the same way.
- 17:57SPEAKER_01: Like I've had the same thing going on.
- 17:59SPEAKER_01: Um, I've had to a lot of you have said you had to eliminate coffee from your diet, or you've had to um, you know, stop working at 6 p.m.
- 18:07SPEAKER_01: and just like be lazy the rest of the night, or you know, like I think this lockdown, this uh this quarantine has really messed with a lot of us because how many of us were not exercising?
- 18:19SPEAKER_01: How many of us got a crappy, crappy diet?
- 18:22SPEAKER_01: How many of us, even if we were exercising and our diet was great, our stress went through the roof because now the kids are home and now there's all you know there's worry and concern and the economic issues and family issues and all this added stuff on top of our shoulders.
- 18:37SPEAKER_01: Guys, I'm learning this firsthand and I want you to be aware of it so you can go on this journey with me.
- 18:44SPEAKER_01: We have to bust our asses and prior but but prioritize better and and figure out how to time block for breaks.
- 18:53SPEAKER_01: Taking breaks, uh, I'm gonna start doing yoga more often.
- 18:57SPEAKER_01: Okay, I used to do it when I was doing P90X and I loved it, and it really is relaxing.
- 19:02SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna start doing that regularly.
- 19:04SPEAKER_01: Another thing that I've done, so I'm gonna start talking about the solution, my solution.
- 19:08SPEAKER_01: Okay, so now that I know that my heart is healthy, supposedly, I still have some blood tests to do to make sure that I don't have other issues with like cholesterol or whatever, but my my heart rhythms, my EKG was normal.
- 19:21SPEAKER_01: Okay, so that part is good.
- 19:23SPEAKER_01: It appears to be stress and anxiety.
- 19:25SPEAKER_01: So my solution is I've got to reduce the stress.
- 19:28SPEAKER_01: Um, the way that I work and all the different things I'm doing, because I'm I'm building multiple companies at the same time.
- 19:34SPEAKER_01: I'm doing multiple things and I'm doing a lot of the stuff myself, way too much myself.
- 19:39SPEAKER_01: I'm not delegating nearly as much as I should.
- 19:42SPEAKER_01: So one of the solutions is to delegate more, to find an assistant, to outsource certain things and to get to delegate and to say no.
- 19:51SPEAKER_01: I'm learning to say no to certain things.
- 19:53SPEAKER_01: Uh, some of those are virtual masterminds, or um even there's been a couple people that are like, hey, we need you to come speak here, you know, uh locally, and I'm like, I I can't.
- 20:05SPEAKER_01: So I've said no to things, which frees up more time to get the more important things done.
- 20:10SPEAKER_01: I'm also now um taking walks with the dog in the morning.
- 20:14SPEAKER_01: So I I was walking the dog every night and I loved that because it let me uh it let me relax a little bit and I could listen to podcasts and learn and think and and I those were really, really productive.
- 20:27SPEAKER_01: But when I'm working at the speed that I work and I don't know any other way to do it, uh the stress builds throughout the day, just with all the stuff, right?
- 20:36SPEAKER_01: You guys know what I'm talking about, all the stuff.
- 20:38SPEAKER_01: So I'm going to start taking the dog on a walk in the morning as well.
- 20:42SPEAKER_01: So when I wake up shortly thereafter, we'll go on a walk to really relax a bit, uh, get some exercise so I can start the day in a better spot than I was prior without that walk.
- 20:55SPEAKER_01: So now the stress for the stress of the day, which a lot of that is it's just gonna be there.
- 21:01SPEAKER_01: But if I can start with less stress than I was prior, now as it builds throughout the day, it's not gonna be as high.
- 21:09SPEAKER_01: So walking in the mornings, uh, also the the diet.
- 21:13SPEAKER_01: I we my wife and I we ordered a bunch of meals from CleanEats.
- 21:16SPEAKER_01: I love clean eats.
- 21:17SPEAKER_01: They sh uh because they have a they have kitchens all across the country to make their shipping quick.
- 21:23SPEAKER_01: So they have one in Salt Lake.
- 21:25SPEAKER_01: We ordered it yesterday in less than 24 hours.
- 21:28SPEAKER_01: We had a big box of 30 meals um show up.
- 21:31SPEAKER_01: They're all frozen, pre-made, um, you know, uh meal plan stuff.
- 21:35SPEAKER_01: Delicious.
- 21:36SPEAKER_01: So clean eats, awesome, we do that.
- 21:39SPEAKER_01: Um so we just got those today, super stoked about that.
- 21:43SPEAKER_01: We're gonna be eating well, good portions, healthy stuff, vegetables.
- 21:47SPEAKER_01: Uh, and this is all freaking common sense, right?
- 21:50SPEAKER_01: But something that I wasn't too conscious about and wasn't very consistent about was hydration.
- 21:55SPEAKER_01: Just being hydrated, especially when you first wake up, getting a glass of Water into your body is so key.
- 22:03SPEAKER_01: So uh staying hydrated throughout the day is it's something that now I'm going to be very consistent about.
- 22:08SPEAKER_01: Where before it was like, I should probably have some water now, you know, and maybe I do, maybe I don't, or if I'm busy, I'll go six hours without having any.
- 22:16SPEAKER_01: It's just nuts.
- 22:17SPEAKER_01: So um, guys, if you are having any symptoms like this, talk to your doctor, first of all, right?
- 22:25SPEAKER_01: There's my disclaimer.
- 22:26SPEAKER_01: I'm not telling you that you that anything's happening to you or that isn't, or that it isn't happening to you.
- 22:32SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 22:33SPEAKER_01: But if you're kind of feeling the same way, it's likely stress.
- 22:37SPEAKER_01: It was for me.
- 22:38SPEAKER_01: So start doing some of the things now consciously.
- 22:41SPEAKER_01: Um, and guess what I'm finding?
- 22:43SPEAKER_01: Okay, over the last week, since I've started doing these things, I'm feeling better throughout the day.
- 22:48SPEAKER_01: When you have less stress and you you've exercised and you're eating well, you have more natural energy.
- 22:54SPEAKER_01: Guess what happens to the work you're doing?
- 22:56SPEAKER_01: It gets better.
- 22:57SPEAKER_01: You're able to do more of it, you're able to bust out the top priority stuff first.
- 23:02SPEAKER_01: You enjoy it more, you don't get wound up so tight, so fast or so easily.
- 23:06SPEAKER_01: So I'm really, I feel like I've hit another level.
- 23:10SPEAKER_01: It took me having a health scare to take a step back, reevaluate, make some changes that are now front of mind, they're now top of mind.
- 23:20SPEAKER_01: And as long as I continue doing those, I've taken I've just taken it to another level.
- 23:26SPEAKER_01: I'm super freaking stoked about that.
- 23:29SPEAKER_01: Um it's unfortunate that it took a health scare and completely freaking my wife out, unfortunately.
- 23:35SPEAKER_01: Um, I feel bad about that.
- 23:38SPEAKER_01: But this is something that's now it's it's a swift kick in the ass.
- 23:44SPEAKER_01: And I hope that this episode is a swift kick in the ass for you to make changes.
- 23:49SPEAKER_01: How many of you are unhealthy?
- 23:51SPEAKER_01: How many of you are not exercising or you're eating crap, processed sugary crap?
- 23:57SPEAKER_01: My hand is raised, okay?
- 23:59SPEAKER_01: So up until a few days ago, like that was me too.
- 24:02SPEAKER_01: Um, but just start doing those things that we know we need to do and make them a priority.
- 24:07SPEAKER_01: That's how you do become more successful, that's how you do sell more homes, that's how you become a better, happier real estate agent and and uh mother or father or friend.
- 24:19SPEAKER_01: Okay, you've got to start taking your stress, your anxiety seriously.
- 24:26SPEAKER_01: So this is a call to action for you guys that if you want to become a very successful real estate agent, entrepreneur, business person, whatever, you've got to start taking your stress seriously and reducing the shit out of it.
- 24:40SPEAKER_01: If you guys have, I want to hear what you guys are doing.
- 24:43SPEAKER_01: If you guys do certain things like meditation or you uh drink certain teas or whatever, I don't care how weird or crazy it is, um, let me know.
- 24:52SPEAKER_01: I'm interested.
- 24:53SPEAKER_01: Like I'm now completely open-minded to what will help me reduce stress so that I can be more productive.
- 25:00SPEAKER_01: Before it was just do everything all the time, balls to the wall, work from 8 a.m.
- 25:06SPEAKER_01: to six, take a break for three hours with the family, then go back to work again at nine and work till midnight.
- 25:11SPEAKER_01: Like that's pretty much how I was doing it.
- 25:14SPEAKER_01: And no wonder I hit a wall.
- 25:17SPEAKER_01: No wonder I started having issues when you couple that with horrible health or sorry, horrible nutrition, no exercise.
- 25:26SPEAKER_01: Just bad news, guys.
- 25:28SPEAKER_01: Bad news.
- 25:29SPEAKER_01: Um I sincerely hope that this helps because stress and anxiety is a real danger to human beings in general.
- 25:38SPEAKER_01: But uh we work in a very crazy industry.
- 25:41SPEAKER_01: The real estate industry is so competitive, it's so tough.
- 25:44SPEAKER_01: As agents, especially solo agents, we have to wear not just multiple hats, we have to wear all the hats.
- 25:52SPEAKER_01: So really, really be conscious about this.
- 25:55SPEAKER_01: Really make some changes, please.
- 25:57SPEAKER_01: I beg you, and hopefully this strikes a chord with you, so that I don't have to see on your Instagram story that you're on your way to get an EKG or that you're going to the ER for something.
- 26:08SPEAKER_01: Let's nip it in the bud now.
- 26:09SPEAKER_01: Is it bud or but?
- 26:11SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 26:12SPEAKER_01: I've never known.
- 26:12SPEAKER_01: So I just say it fast.
- 26:14SPEAKER_01: I just I just say nip it in the bud, and I think that time was bud with a D, but nip it in the bud.
- 26:19SPEAKER_01: So then, you know, either way.
- 26:20SPEAKER_01: Oh, but sure, I said that.
- 26:21SPEAKER_01: But yeah, I said that too.
- 26:23SPEAKER_01: Anyhow, guys, thank you for listening.
- 26:26SPEAKER_01: Thank you for your support, your well wishes, your thoughts.
- 26:29SPEAKER_01: I cannot tell you how much they mean to me and my family.
- 26:31SPEAKER_01: Thank you.
- 26:32SPEAKER_01: Um Make some changes, guys.
- 26:35SPEAKER_01: Make some changes.
- 26:36SPEAKER_01: The ultimate goal here is to be more productive, to be more successful, to sell more homes, to ultimately make more money, and to do that, we have to be healthy, we have to be centered, we have to have a good head on our shoulders, uh, otherwise, we cannot accomplish those things at the level we should.
- 26:54SPEAKER_01: So, this is your call to action.
- 26:56SPEAKER_01: Get your health in check, exercise, get your mind right, take breaths, um, meditate, do yoga, go on walks, you know, whatever.
- 27:07SPEAKER_01: Um, I'm exploring all of the above.
- 27:10SPEAKER_01: And so far, so good.
- 27:12SPEAKER_01: I'm even going to decaf coffee for a month, which is crazy because I love my coffee.
- 27:17SPEAKER_01: I can still have it.
- 27:18SPEAKER_01: It's just uh, you know, I think decaf still has like seven grams of milligrams of caffeine or something like that.
- 27:24SPEAKER_01: So very, very minuscule.
- 27:26SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna try that and I'll let you guys I'll let you guys know how it goes.
- 27:31SPEAKER_01: I'll keep you updated.
- 27:32SPEAKER_01: Watch my Instagram stories, you uh you jerks that haven't been.
- 27:35SPEAKER_01: Watch them and I'll keep you updated.
- 27:37SPEAKER_01: Thank you guys.
- 27:38SPEAKER_01: Thank you for listening.
- 27:39SPEAKER_01: Hopefully this um hopefully this impacts one of you in a positive way.
- 27:44SPEAKER_01: Hopefully it impacts a thousand of you in a positive way, but I'll settle for 572.
- 27:49SPEAKER_01: Cool.
- 27:50SPEAKER_01: Guys, thank you so much.
- 27:51SPEAKER_01: Uh I really, really appreciate you listening and I just I appreciate your collaborative mindset.
- 27:59SPEAKER_01: I appreciate your positivity, your optimism.
- 28:02SPEAKER_01: If you're listening to this podcast, you are not somebody who fears competitors.
- 28:07SPEAKER_01: You're not somebody who I feel like when you are authentic, you attract similar people.
- 28:14SPEAKER_01: And so I'm just appreciative for you being uh being like-minded.
- 28:19SPEAKER_01: So thank you very much.
- 28:21SPEAKER_01: If you found value in this podcast, if you feel like this is as important of a message as I feel it is, and I just kept my pop filter on my microphone, if you feel that this is an important message, please share it with a team member, a fellow agent you're friends with on social, your broker, whatever.
- 28:38SPEAKER_01: Share it in a Facebook group, please.
- 28:40SPEAKER_01: Uh I want this message to reach the people that it's supposed to reach.
- 28:45SPEAKER_01: And and this is a free show.
- 28:47SPEAKER_01: We don't have a fee, we don't charge you to listen to the show, because that'd be weird.
- 28:51SPEAKER_01: Um, all we ask is if you find value, please share it with a real estate or mortgage colleague.
- 28:57SPEAKER_01: That's all we ask.
- 28:57SPEAKER_01: I'll see you guys back here next week for another episode of the Massive Agent Podcast.
- 29:01SPEAKER_01: Take care.
