Latest / Mom Gone Mild / My take on 75 Hard
Transcript
- 0:10Hey guys, welcome back to Mom gone mild.
- 0:13If you're new here, you're in for a good episode.
- 0:17If you've been here, OK, I feel like this is a long-awaited one.
- 0:22My take on 75 hard. Yes, a big girl completed that
- 0:28shit. I went from 197 to 170 lbs.
- 0:32Love that, proud of that. But honestly, this just turned
- 0:37into so much more than just weight loss.
- 0:39And I already know this episode is going to be a long 1.
- 0:44So grab an Aulani, grab an iced coffee, wine, whatever your
- 0:48emotional support beverages, go on your girl walks, fold your
- 0:52laundry, clean your kitchen, whatever.
- 0:53Because we have a lot to unpack. Because this isn't just a how I
- 0:58lost weight episode. This is a how I thought 75 hard
- 1:02was literally for the clinically insane.
- 1:05And then somehow I became one of them.
- 1:09Yeah, this is a couch to two workouts a day episode.
- 1:12This is a water should become illegal after this episode.
- 1:16And honestly, somewhere between the gallon of water, crying on
- 1:20day 8, countless outdoor walks, forcing myself through workouts
- 1:24absolutely didn't want to do, I found myself again.
- 1:29So where the hell do I even start with this episode?
- 1:32I've been going back and forth, but let's just get into it.
- 1:36You guys know if you listen to me, in previous episodes, your
- 1:40girl has had a complicated relationship with her weight.
- 1:44I'm just that girl. I'm lucky.
- 1:46At my skinniest I was 115 lbs. You can think drugs for that
- 1:52one. I know, but at my heaviest I
- 1:55shot up to 225 lbs, then maybe I'd get down to 116, then back
- 2:00again and then I'd be motivated, then back down.
- 2:04Your girl was the literal definition of yo-yo dieting.
- 2:10Literally I would do anything except workout.
- 2:12And I think for so long I was obsessed with losing weight, but
- 2:16I wasn't obsessed with changing my lifestyle because I've
- 2:19learned these are two very completely different things.
- 2:23Because I'd hit a goal, be super proud of myself, celebrate, and
- 2:28guess what? I'd be like, I'm going to
- 2:29celebrate with a meal and it would just be absolute trash.
- 2:32Like, yay, I lost weight. I would reward myself.
- 2:36And just it would just be an endless freaking cycle.
- 2:39Like it didn't make sense. And listen, I talk about
- 2:42postpartum depression a lot on this podcast.
- 2:44Don't worry. I promise this episode isn't
- 2:47about that. If you want to go ahead and hear
- 2:50more about my postpartum story, which has a lot to do with this,
- 2:54go on to earlier episodes. Because when you're mentally
- 2:58struggling and checked out, taking care of yourself feels
- 3:01like the hardest thing. Like hard, hard food just meant
- 3:06a lot to me. I felt like we were in a
- 3:08relationship. And those people that said food
- 3:10is fuel, Yeah, I thought that they were crazy.
- 3:13I was like, OK, not to be rude, but shut the hell up.
- 3:15Some naturally skinny person definitely made that saying up
- 3:20because food wasn't just fuel to me.
- 3:22Food was comfort. Food was like celebration.
- 3:25Food was boredom, food was because I was sad, food was
- 3:29because I was having a craving, food was because I had a
- 3:32freaking bad day and I needed to just control something and food
- 3:37was it. Food was everything to me.
- 3:39I know it sounds crazy. DoorDash obsessed cooking.
- 3:45I avoided it at all costs. Sometimes I would literally
- 3:48cook. I hated it.
- 3:49And then I would still order DoorDash.
- 3:51I wanted crumble cookie on a random Wednesday.
- 3:54Your girl got it on DoorDash and it would just show up.
- 3:58Starbucks breakfast was my go to.
- 4:01I literally had so many calories it could feed like 4 people.
- 4:06Lunch probably. DoorDash didn't dinner
- 4:10definitely doordashed it. And the crazy part I genuinely
- 4:15thought like this was normal. I don't know it was just my
- 4:20lifestyle as my go to and mind you I was doing all of this
- 4:24while on Ozempic. Yes I know and let me be really
- 4:29honest about something because I'm a little tired of the
- 4:32conversation around GLP ones. Yes I am on a GLP one.
- 4:37I have never ever hit that fact. I am a big girl with type 2
- 4:41diabetes. Does it help?
- 4:43Sure absolutely. My A1C has dropped but let me
- 4:47tell you something, it never worked for me until I started
- 4:52putting in the work. And what does that mean?
- 4:57Well, I think some people look at it and they're like, oh, it's
- 5:00a cheat code for being skinny. It's a magic shot, girl.
- 5:05Absolutely not. Because if you don't change your
- 5:08habits, if you don't move your body, if you don't work on, you
- 5:13know, your mindset and relationship with food, work on
- 5:16that food noise. Because that was my biggest
- 5:19thing. I always felt freaking hungry.
- 5:21I don't know. As much as I eat, I still felt
- 5:23hungry and nothing changed. I know because I lived it.
- 5:27One day I won't be on it anymore.
- 5:30And then what? I don't plan on gaining the
- 5:32weight back. So that's exactly why I had to
- 5:35build habits. I had to.
- 5:38I have to just use it for my advantage now because this isn't
- 5:42just like a temporary fix, not a Band-Aid.
- 5:44For me, this is about changing my lifestyle.
- 5:47So no, for me, this was never the easy way out.
- 5:52I don't know. I mean, you can be have your own
- 5:54opinions on GLP ones. I'm very like, if it doesn't
- 5:58really affect me or hurt anyone natively, I really could care
- 6:02less. I mean, you know, Fast forward a
- 6:05little, I remember getting out of the shower just one day and
- 6:09this is probably going to be super vulnerable, but whatever.
- 6:13I've talked to you guys about so many things.
- 6:14So I just remember standing there naked looking at myself in
- 6:18the mirror and just thinking wow who the fuck is this?
- 6:23Not only am I overweight that I have been my almost my whole
- 6:27life. My body has changed after having
- 6:30Axel. Obviously it's natural like
- 6:32really change. Things just sat differently.
- 6:36I had like I couldn't explain it like just like stuff were didn't
- 6:42belong. I just felt disconnected.
- 6:43Just like whose freaking body is this?
- 6:47Because postpartum changes you. I know, here I go again.
- 6:50But that's it's the truth. I was changed mentally,
- 6:53emotionally, physically. Shit, I think I was even changed
- 6:57spiritually because it was just like a lot.
- 7:00And around that time, Randy said he wanted to do something
- 7:03drastic. He wanted to do 75 hard.
- 7:07And immediately my brain was like who does he think he is?
- 7:11Absolutely the fuck not because I had heard about 75 hard years
- 7:17ago. I remember like two of our
- 7:18friends did it and I genuinely remember thinking like these two
- 7:23people that I love so much and I know forever have officially
- 7:27joined a cult. Yes I know.
- 7:30I'm sorry. I thought 2 workouts a day, no
- 7:33alcohol, no cheat meals, reading 10 pages a gallon of water for
- 7:4075 days. Like like who created it sounded
- 7:45like a torture program. Because honestly that sounded
- 7:50miserable to me. It sounded boring.
- 7:52It sounded not fun. It sounded freaking extreme and
- 7:57I just always thought like that could never be me.
- 8:00And somehow just, I remember looking at Randy and said, OK,
- 8:05I'll do it too. In his face.
- 8:08I love him. He believes in me, guys, this is
- 8:11not to do. But he was just in pure shock.
- 8:14Honestly, I shocked myself, 'cause I was like, who?
- 8:18Who said that? I said that.
- 8:21But here's the thing about me, if you don't know already, I
- 8:25have a very addictive personality, hence the drug and
- 8:28food addiction. If I decide I'm doing something,
- 8:34it becomes my entire personality.
- 8:37I know it sounds intense. I am a very intense person and
- 8:41we actually made the decision two months before starting 75
- 8:45hard, which honestly really helped me Because your girl went
- 8:49on research mode. I was like a freaking detective.
- 8:54I watch all the YouTube videos, all the tik toks.
- 8:57I listen to the podcast, I watch people that thrive during 7500.
- 9:03I watch people that failed, I watch people that quit on day
- 9:0773. I really needed to understand
- 9:10what exactly I was signing up for.
- 9:12And the biggest thing for me was figuring out the food, of
- 9:17course, because I already knew there was no way in hell I could
- 9:22like survive on like a keto diet.
- 9:25I could not survive on a low carb diet.
- 9:28And look, if your body thrives that way, beautiful, amazing.
- 9:32I love that for you. But it just it, I've tried it so
- 9:36many times and it's just not me. I needed something that's
- 9:38sustainable because 75 days is a lot of work.
- 9:42That's when I landed on the Whole Foods diet.
- 9:45And honestly, Whole Foods to me just made the most sense because
- 9:49I knew something about myself. If I ever felt restricted, like
- 9:55it's just like it's over. Like imagine like someone tells
- 9:59you you can never do this ever again.
- 10:01Suddenly my mind is like, that's all I want to do.
- 10:05I can't have processed sugar. Cool.
- 10:07Now I want like everything. And to me, it didn't feel like a
- 10:10sad diet like chicken and broccoli.
- 10:13Because honestly, if you really think about it, it's just
- 10:18cleaner ingredients. And when I tell you I became
- 10:21insane about ingredients, I mean insane.
- 10:26I read every single label, everything, everything.
- 10:32I read all the sauces, the seasonings.
- 10:35We only ended up using like one seasoning.
- 10:37It's all together. I can link it for you guys or
- 10:39show it to you guys. The bread, drinks, snacks,
- 10:43sparkling water that would really honestly surprise you.
- 10:47What's in most of them? Like hold on, why does this
- 10:51healthy item that I thought was the healthy is have like 47
- 10:56chemicals? I don't even know how to
- 10:58pronounce. So I immediately made the
- 10:59decision. Your girl was going to cook
- 11:02everything. I know every snack, every meal,
- 11:07everything that we put into our bodies.
- 11:10I just wanted to know exactly what was in it.
- 11:13We never went out to eat. We never ordered.
- 11:17And yeah, I fed meat and Randy, so it was a lot.
- 11:21And the baby because he eats that way too.
- 11:24So, you know, I'm a stay at home mom with an infant.
- 11:26So now I'm trying to just like I'm all over the place, meal
- 11:30prep, cook from scratch, survive motherhood, drink a gallon of
- 11:33water, somehow squeeze in two workouts a day.
- 11:36Who decided to say yes on this? And then I reminded myself,
- 11:40girl, you did. And another huge piece of this
- 11:44is of course, the workouts because people love just saying
- 11:48like, oh, I'll go to the gym. OK, With what?
- 11:52Childcare girl? With what free time?
- 11:55Because if you're a stay at home mom, you know, as well as a
- 11:59working mom, it's not always just like, oh, babe, I'm going
- 12:02to head to the gym now. I'll see you like in an hour or
- 12:05two. No, sometimes your workouts
- 12:08happen while your baby's crying, when your baby wants to be held.
- 12:11And when I first started this, Axel was clingy.
- 12:16I could not put him down. Bluey or Miss Rachel was
- 12:19literally keeping the peace around here.
- 12:22And I know, I know, screen time. Sue me.
- 12:26Honestly, if I had childcare, my treat would honestly be heading
- 12:31to the gym or Pilates. I don't know.
- 12:34It's just like just something for me, but that wasn't my
- 12:38reality every day. My husband and my mother-in-law
- 12:42helped me a lot, but it was definitely not every day.
- 12:45So I had to figure out basically what worked for me, what worked
- 12:48for my schedule, what worked for my baby.
- 12:51And this is where I like fell in love with Grow With Joe.
- 12:54I can honestly say I love this woman because baby Grow with Joe
- 12:59saved me. That woman got me moving in my
- 13:03house. No babysitter, no fancy
- 13:05equipment, no gym anxiety, which I have always kind of struggled
- 13:10with, you know, But it was nice. Like, I didn't have to, like,
- 13:14leave my living room. And then, you know, we had our
- 13:18final hurrah, Randy's 40th birthday.
- 13:21And after that, it was game on. So yeah, so we started 75 hard.
- 13:28And listen, I was prepared. I feel like I was overly
- 13:31prepared, like mentally. Yeah, you're not prepared.
- 13:36I did my research. I meal prep.
- 13:38I had like 20 Pinterest board just prepared.
- 13:44But let me tell you something. Nothing could have prepared me.
- 13:49But I can't even talk for going from literal couch potato to
- 13:54working out twice a day. Nothing my body I feel like was
- 13:59like girl what the fuck are we doing the first week I almost
- 14:04died. I know you guys are like this
- 14:06girl is so dramatic but imagine like literally couch potato to
- 14:12working out. But you know what I don't know
- 14:15my body was like in complete shock.
- 14:18I was so sore like in places I didn't even know existed.
- 14:22I was tired. Your girl was hungry.
- 14:26You know, I just, I feel like I question a lot of the decisions.
- 14:29I question Mr. Andy Frisella because, respectfully, have you
- 14:34seen him? Obviously, we do not live the
- 14:37same kind of lifestyles. I question life.
- 14:40And then day eight, day eight really hit me.
- 14:45This was my first like, oh, shit.
- 14:47Like, I, I, I don't know if I'm going to make it.
- 14:51I remember it so clearly. It was late like maybe like 730
- 14:56and yes, I know 7:30 is late for me.
- 14:58OK, I sleep at like 8. I still had a workout laugh.
- 15:02I had water left. I was freaking exhausted.
- 15:05The baby had been well a lot that day.
- 15:09My body hurt. I was mentally I felt like
- 15:12checked out. I just wanted to sleep.
- 15:14And I remember looking at Randy and just like, I was like
- 15:18crying. I remember like super dramatic.
- 15:21I just felt really defeated. And I told him like, it's fine,
- 15:25I give up. You keep going.
- 15:28And just like very casual, very dramatic, very Lex, very much
- 15:33like I had already accepted my fate.
- 15:35Like Day 8 was it. Well, that man took Axel.
- 15:39He looked at me and he said just absolutely not.
- 15:44There was no sympathy. There was no OK babe, it's fine.
- 15:49There was no enabling. It was just like absolutely not.
- 15:55He gave me this pep talk that honestly I barely even remember
- 15:59because like I was just too busy feeling sorry for myself like I
- 16:04always have in life. But I remember just what
- 16:07happened next. I finished the workout, it was
- 16:11late, I was annoyed. I finished my water, I was
- 16:16sweaty, I was mad I was a complete bitch because of course
- 16:21I just was annoyed with him that he made me, you know, push
- 16:25myself so hard. But you know what?
- 16:27I finished and that in itself was honestly the first major
- 16:33habit I built. Stop leaving shit for later
- 16:36because procrastinating during 75 hard is the most dangerous
- 16:42game you can play. You think oh I'll do that
- 16:45workout later. Suddenly it's 8:00 PM.
- 16:49Used to have water left. You haven't read, you're tired,
- 16:52the baby is not sleeping well. It's just like you go into this
- 16:56freaking spiral. I don't know, Day.
- 17:00He just felt like a lot for some reason.
- 17:03I just became a do it earlier girl.
- 17:07Workout earlier, water, finished that shit early, reading early.
- 17:12I mean, because day 8 humbled my ass.
- 17:15I was like, damn, I'm going to quit.
- 17:16Day 8. I had already told you guys I
- 17:19was starting and I was like, I can't even imagine having to
- 17:22come on here and doing that. But one of my favorite parts of
- 17:25this whole thing became the outdoor workouts.
- 17:27It was me, Randy, Axel, and the girls.
- 17:30Me and my dogs started doing them together.
- 17:33Now, obviously, life happens. We didn't do every single
- 17:37workout outside together because just, you know, schedules
- 17:41happen. Randy works a few jobs.
- 17:43Reality exists. But most days we were outside
- 17:47walking together and I just felt like it was like such a nice
- 17:51little bonding experience for us.
- 17:54Those walks became so much more than exercise, just forming A
- 17:57deeper connection, Talking, laughing, complaining about how
- 18:03many damn days we had left, complaining about how much water
- 18:07we had to do, just doing something hard together.
- 18:11And yeah, it just felt good. And Speaking of water, because
- 18:17it's a lot a gallon, respectfully, that much water I
- 18:20feel like should be illegal. I mean, like in a way I'm
- 18:23kidding because it made my skin look good and clear.
- 18:26But you know what? I became that girl.
- 18:29I just started drinking. I was not a water girl at all.
- 18:33I had three Coke Zeros a day. I had coffee every single day.
- 18:39I still do. Of course, I would never give
- 18:40that up. But you know what?
- 18:42Just it's just it's a lot. A gallon is a lot.
- 18:47It's traumatizing. I just like it is a lot like I
- 18:51feel like I'm going to PTSD right now.
- 18:53So what I decided to do is buy a 32 ounce hydrogen so I would
- 18:57down to before 1:00 PM and then finish the rest by 7 because if
- 19:02you don't finish like within a certain amount of time you are
- 19:06up all night peeing. Yes, it's so fun and I was done
- 19:11with that. Your body learns to adapt.
- 19:13Look, that was one of the craziest parts.
- 19:15At first I thought this is impossible, but by the end my
- 19:19body just expected the water. Actually I kind of like stopped
- 19:24drinking that much water and now I'm like constantly thirsty.
- 19:26Being this person I didn't even recognize I know let's talk
- 19:32about the reading. Honestly, it was not my favorite
- 19:35part. I feel like a lot of people like
- 19:37love reading and it's just it's not me.
- 19:39I know growth it changes your mindset, it gives you personal
- 19:43development. It's beautiful, people love it.
- 19:45I love that for you if that's you, but finding my like just
- 19:50finding the time to sit and read a physical book as a stay at
- 19:54home mom with an infant that's clinging as hell when because
- 20:00unless you're a mom, you don't understand the art form of what
- 20:04is nap trapped. You got to pee, you're thirsty,
- 20:07you're hungry, your freaking phone's dying.
- 20:11But you know, you learn to adapt.
- 20:15Your baby is sleeping on you like life is depending on it.
- 20:19You literally don't even move. Like sometimes I'm like Dang, I
- 20:22can't even breathe too hard because you'll wake up.
- 20:25So Kindle app became my bestie and before you guys even come
- 20:29for me, no, it's not cheating. Audio books aren't allowed.
- 20:33But I was physically reading just on an app.
- 20:38It's easier for me. It's it's what worked for me.
- 20:41And I feel like that is the biggest thing in 75 hard, you
- 20:45know, it's just you have to adapt it to your lifestyle.
- 20:50I realized something during this challenge, I didn't have the
- 20:53luxury of waiting for the perfect conditions.
- 20:56And I feel like that is a huge thing for me.
- 20:59That was always my excuse because I think so many of us,
- 21:02especially moms, wait for the perfect time when life slows
- 21:07down, when you have more energy, when the baby sleeps better and
- 21:14yeah, when things calm down. But let me tell you something,
- 21:17girl, it's never going to be the right time.
- 21:19Life will keep lifing. It's never going to be the
- 21:23perfect time to start something. Sometimes you have to learn to
- 21:27choose yourself inside the chaos.
- 21:30And that just realization hit me so hard because for so long, I
- 21:35guess I don't know, you know, I loved everyone else.
- 21:40I showed up for everyone else. I took care of everyone else but
- 21:44me. Kind of like was last on that
- 21:49list. I felt like I always chose me
- 21:51last and 75 hard forced me to show up for myself.
- 21:56Because if you don't do it, no one's going to do it for you.
- 22:01Now, let's talk about the food. Yeah, I know.
- 22:07Alright, let's get into it. So you know, no cheat meals for
- 22:1075 days. It sounds psychotic like.
- 22:15I'm sorry. It really does.
- 22:17Especially coming from someone who used to celebrate with food,
- 22:22who found food with like comfort and food just food was
- 22:26everything. And for me that worked with, you
- 22:30know, choosing a Whole Foods diet, staying in a calorie
- 22:32deficit, that just worked for me especially.
- 22:35I don't know, I didn't feel like I was living in a diet.
- 22:40I just adapted and things just, I don't know, became good.
- 22:44I mean, I wanted pad Thai, cool. I'd like use cleaner version,
- 22:48like just cleaner ingredients. I wanted burgers, let's make it
- 22:52pizza. I found ways around it, you
- 22:55know, but still stayed in that Whole Foods and calorie deficit.
- 22:59You get creative because one thing about me, if you tell me I
- 23:04can't have something, I feel like I want it even more.
- 23:08I'm like desperate to get it. And honestly, you'd be shocked
- 23:11how creative you really become. I swear half of 75 hard was me
- 23:17just becoming just a little detective with all the
- 23:20ingredients. I feel like I became a part time
- 23:22chef, you know? But like I still had ground
- 23:25Turkey, ground beef, baked chicken, sweet potatoes on
- 23:29rotation. Your girl fell in love with
- 23:33broccolini and baked salmon. I had that at least once a week.
- 23:38But meal prepping like just in batches literally saved us.
- 23:41And I'm not going to pretend like I'm this healthy influencer
- 23:45content person because I'm not. Sometimes it just has to be
- 23:50simple. Sometimes it's survival mode,
- 23:52sometimes it's like I'm hungry now and if I don't have
- 23:55something meal prepped, then I'm going to cheat.
- 23:59I was just super obsessed with Starbucks.
- 24:01I have it like almost every morning and I can honestly say I
- 24:06have a whole food approved drink just locked down.
- 24:11And if you want it, I'll go ahead and share that with you
- 24:13guys because I don't get keep anything, you know, but it's
- 24:16just like the biggest shift. I just started appreciating food
- 24:20differently and I never thought I'd say that because remember I
- 24:25used to hear food is fuel and want to roll my damn eyes
- 24:30because I don't know something during this challenge I just
- 24:33started noticing wow, food really effects everything.
- 24:37I mean my energy, my mood, my cravings guys went almost away.
- 24:45My workouts just felt better, my sleep, my skin, my inflammation
- 24:51when I talk about my skin, my skin was glowing.
- 24:54It still is. I I think it was like the whole
- 24:56food diet plus the water and it just felt so good Like this
- 25:00wasn't just about losing weight anymore.
- 25:02It's just like, this was about feeling good about myself and
- 25:06honestly that just shocked me because I genuinely thought like
- 25:12OK, feeling bloated, sluggish, tired, and surviving on caffeine
- 25:18was just part of being a normal adult.
- 25:22Apparently not. I was just choosing a lot of bad
- 25:25things for myself. But look, I still survive on
- 25:27caffeine. I'm human.
- 25:29This diet and this 75 heart is not like it's not going to
- 25:34change you completely. It just change your habits.
- 25:37And I just like I genuinely now enjoy working out.
- 25:41I know trust me, nobody is more shocked than me because at first
- 25:46I just wanted the day to be over.
- 25:48Like cool, let me just survive these workouts so I can move on
- 25:52with my life. Genuinely have started to enjoy
- 25:56moving my body, not because of how many calories I'm burning,
- 26:01not because of like the punishment that I want to give
- 26:04myself, not because I hated myself, because like I finally
- 26:09felt good. And that has just new meaning
- 26:12for me. I love feeling stronger.
- 26:17I love having more energy. And yeah, this Mama can always
- 26:21use more energy. I love just watching myself do
- 26:24things I genuinely thought I could not.
- 26:27Like. This body can do hard things.
- 26:33This body is freaking capable. Because especially after babies
- 26:38feel like we spend so much time being angrier at our bodies,
- 26:42just trying to shrink them, trying to fix them, just almost
- 26:46like punishing them, just wanting to change be back to how
- 26:51we were. And 75 heart weirdly shifted
- 26:54that for me. Like, yes, I love seeing that
- 26:58physical progress. Obviously I'm human.
- 27:01I mean, I'm just a girl, you know, but what really hit I was
- 27:06just realizing my body wasn't failing me.
- 27:10I felt good like I was my body was carrying me.
- 27:15I didn't have like all these like pains and I don't know that
- 27:19just got emotional. ANYWAYS, I signed up for harder
- 27:22Pilates classes. I stepped away from the cardio
- 27:25machines at the gym. I don't know if you guys know,
- 27:28but that is just like such a big win.
- 27:30When you finally enter the weight room, you just like if
- 27:33you know, you freaking know. It could be terrifying.
- 27:37Discuss the one fail I had, which was jump roping because
- 27:41apparently doing 75 hard wasn't enough for just me being such an
- 27:46overachiever. No, your girl decided.
- 27:49You know what would be even more fun is a 30 day challenge of
- 27:53jump roping while still doing 75 hard.
- 27:59That was a fail because I had to try new things.
- 28:02I just felt like extra activated and then on day 64 of 75 hard,
- 28:08day 11 of like jump roping of 30 days, my knee said absolutely
- 28:14not girl. It gave out.
- 28:17I had so much pain I literally couldn't even put too much
- 28:22weight on it. I was in full panic mode because
- 28:26immediately my brain went from Oh my God how am I going to
- 28:32finish this 75 hard challenge? Because when you're literally
- 28:38deep into it, quitting doesn't even feel like an option
- 28:42anymore. And honestly, that moment taught
- 28:46me something super important. You cannot do everything.
- 28:51You literally just can't. Sometimes simple wins.
- 28:55Sometimes it's just enough is enough.
- 28:59Sometimes you just have to listen to your body.
- 29:02And my body was very loud and saying, girl, pick one challenge
- 29:07at a time. You don't know like who the hell
- 29:10are you? So I stopped.
- 29:12I know I have like a thing on TikTok.
- 29:14I haven't even taken it down or whatever.
- 29:16It was just like, it was just the right choice for me because
- 29:19like I always say, this adapted to your lifestyle.
- 29:23Discipline matters, but so does listening to your body.
- 29:27And honestly, by the end of 75 hard, I feel like I have learned
- 29:30so much. I learned you know that your
- 29:34mind is way stronger than you think and your body is 2.
- 29:40Your body really adapts. Your body surprises you in ways
- 29:45just like that you never knew existed.
- 29:47Your body carries you through things you swore you couldn't
- 29:51do. I learned healthy habits and
- 29:53actually I'm making them. Habits.
- 29:56I know. Groundbreaking, I know.
- 29:59Like I've been told this so many times.
- 30:00But until you finally get it in your head, that's when it'll
- 30:04stick. But if I'm being really honest,
- 30:06there's one realization that hit me.
- 30:08Harder than a weight loss. Harder than the physical
- 30:11changes. Harder than fitting into smaller
- 30:13clothes. I don't know, Somewhere between
- 30:16the gallon of water, the outdoor walks, the meal prep, crying on
- 30:22day 8, just the discipline, showing up for myself every
- 30:26single day, I realized something.
- 30:30I beat postpartum depression. Not overnight, definitely it was
- 30:35not overnight. It was not perfect.
- 30:37It was ugly. Not like poof, suddenly like I
- 30:41healed. But little by little I started
- 30:44finding myself again. Workout by workout, meal by
- 30:48meal. I just felt like walk by walk.
- 30:51I just started choosing myself again and I felt so good and
- 30:57just that just I feel like meant more than any number on the
- 31:00scale ever could. So yes, I will say loud and
- 31:06fucking proud. A big girl completed 75 hard,
- 31:10going from 197 to 170. I am so proud of that.
- 31:16But the biggest win is that I proved to myself that I can do
- 31:21hard things, that I'm stronger than I thought, that I'm capable
- 31:25of actually sticking to something.
- 31:28And I feel like I had some people, like, not like haters,
- 31:32but they just have known me for so long that they didn't think
- 31:35that I could do it. And yeah, that girl that thought
- 31:3875 hard people were literally insane, she kind of became one
- 31:43of them. And now me and Randy are
- 31:45starting officially 75 soft on Monday, May 26th.
- 31:49So we're going to be a little slightly softer, still
- 31:52intentional, still discipline. It's still 145 minute workout a
- 31:57day, 80 ounces of water. We're doing the Whole Foods diet
- 32:02again because it's my favorite. It just makes me feel so good.
- 32:04But it's more like, you know, like you can have one cheat
- 32:08meal, you know, you can do the reading or podcast timing.
- 32:12Because this time it's just not about proving I can survive
- 32:16something. I've already proved that.
- 32:18I don't have to prove it to anybody else.
- 32:20And it's just about building a lifestyle.
- 32:22I feel like I can actually just keep up with that.
- 32:25I actually want. It's about getting stronger,
- 32:28being an active parent, showing up for myself, showing up for
- 32:32Axel, showing up for Randy. And listen, I announced this on
- 32:37Instagram already, but you know, I'm putting together A-75 soft
- 32:41kind of accountability group. I don't know, encouragement,
- 32:44meal prep ideas, motivation, real life support, just because
- 32:51I know like doing this, it's hard for people.
- 32:55It's a huge decision, it's huge lifestyle change.
- 32:59So I'm thinking maybe like something like a WhatsApp group
- 33:01or maybe like on Instagram or whatever want to start and you
- 33:05just want to message me privately.
- 33:06Go ahead, do that too. I would love to be your
- 33:08accountability buddy. It just doesn't matter.
- 33:11I feel like the hardest part is starting.
- 33:14I mean, whether you start messy, whether you start nervous,
- 33:17overwhelmed, motivated, just start because honestly, that is
- 33:21the hardest part in itself. If you're listening to this
- 33:25thinking 75 hard could never be me.
- 33:30Listen, I thought that way too. I remember reading somewhere
- 33:35only around like 5 to 10% of people who actually started 75
- 33:41hard actually completed it, meaning like 90 to 95% don't
- 33:47finish. And honestly, I get it because
- 33:50this challenge is no joke. I mean, but you know what?
- 33:55I can proudly say I did it. I did it as being a big girl.
- 34:01I did it and I completed it. I am going to give myself a pat
- 34:06on the back because I murdered that shit.
- 34:08Not perfectly, not without crying.
- 34:12I'm a crybaby sometimes, and that's OK.
- 34:15Not without complaining, Not without whining, not without
- 34:17bitching. Not without like a dramatic
- 34:20meltdown on day 8 thinking like, what the hell, who the hell am I
- 34:25thinking that I could do this. But you know what?
- 34:27I did it. And honestly, the biggest flex
- 34:30for me isn't even the weight loss.
- 34:33I mean, it feels good. But the biggest flex is that I
- 34:35showed up for myself every single day because on the other
- 34:39side of consistency, I found trust in myself again.
- 34:43And that changed my life. OK, well, I do want to let you
- 34:48guys know I love you guys. You know, you guys have been
- 34:51there through a lot of things. If you, you know, you made it
