- 0:38Mark Rogers: Whitaker with this account.
- 0:40Oh, for a solemn word and this awful warning here in the 29th chapter.
- 0:46Proverbs and the first verse, I love this account because it was given to me personally by a friend of mine who was a submarine captain, uh, off the coast of motor.
- 0:58He rehearsed this account to me in Chicago, in a missionary rest home.
- 1:05I've used it, you've heard it before, perhaps, but oh, think of it.
- 1:10Proverbs 29 and one, he being often approved, hardened his neck.
- 1:17Hardened, his neck shall suddenly be destroyed.
- 1:23And that without remedy, no remedy.
- 1:27Oh, captain Spago said, he said, you know, we were on the ocean floor searching for enemy shipping with our torpedoes in our submarine, and that was our work.
- 1:44And we recessed.
- 1:45We came up, we went off on the shore in the city of Malta.
- 1:50We heard the gospel being preached on the street corner.
- 1:53And this is the verse that used he said.
- 1:55This verse, he said, we heard it read, we heard it proclaimed very clearly, but it seemed to go in one ear and out the other.
- 2:03Didn't seem to, uh, have any effect on me.
- 2:05He said, I didn't pay any attention to it.
- 2:07I didn't think I did.
- 2:09But he said he went back on onboard a submarine.
- 2:12We went down again and he said the pump stopped working.
- 2:16Oh.
- 2:18He said, if we, these pumps don't start within two minutes, we'll be dashed into s smithing, be broken to pits, and blown all over the sea.
- 2:31Ah.
- 2:32He said, oh God, oh God.
- 2:35Help me get these pumps started.
- 2:36And he said, God heard my prayer.
- 2:38He said, if you'll do, I'll take your sons, my savior.
- 2:41And he said, I went down a lost soul and I came up saved by the precious God of Christ and he's out preaching the gospel perhaps tonight in Africa.
- 2:49He was for many years, captain Fargo, dear friend of mine.
- 2:52Well, how about you?
- 2:54You've been reproved.
- 2:56A God has written on the pastor of your wall.
- 2:59And if you don't heed these warnings, God speaketh once gay twice and man perceives it not.
- 3:06And a third time may be a catastrophe and you'll be suddenly destroyed in that without remedy.
