- Jessica Figueroa: Hello, my favorite listeners. Good morning. This is Cindy Marlar, and I am really excited to share this one. I love being efficient. I love anything that creates efficiency, is efficient. I love finding efficiency. And I boy, do I have something for you today that is efficient. So just for today, at some point today, before bed, during the day, whenever it's a convenient time, you are going to lay down on the floor near a wall. And I want you to scoot your little rear end near the wall and I want you to put your feet straight up on the wall. So your feet are straight up on the wall and you're laying on the floor. Can you picture it? Okay. I want you to do that. And then I want you to stay there for at least five minutes, maybe five to ten minutes. And let me tell you some of the things that this simple exercise is going to do. One, it's going to boost your circulation because when you elevate your legs above your heart level, it makes it easier for the oxygen-depleted blood to flow back to your heart. It's a big deal. Okay, it's going to reduce swelling if you have any. It's going to lower vein pressure. This gentle inversion will relieve ⁓ the pressure placed on leg veins. It's going to leave varicose discomfort if you have any varicose veins. How about this one? It activates rest and digest mode. So if you're into this, it will activate your rest and digest mode. This pose will stimulate your vagus nerve, switching your nervous system from a stressed state into a calm, parasympathetic state. I don't even sure what all those words mean. But it sounds like a lot of bang for my buck to just lay down on the floor and put my legs up. It also is going to relieve lower back tension. It's going to accelerate muscle recovery. And it's going to promote better sleep. Do I need to tell you more? Really? Do I need to tell you more? All you have to do is find a wall. Please don't do it in the middle of public. Or do find a wall, scoot your butt up, lay on your back, and put your legs up on the wall and stay there. For five, 10, 15 minutes. ⁓ for maximum benefit, try 15 to 20, but I'm just gonna ask you for five. So that's a lot of bang for our buck. So just for today, we are gonna lay down on the floor and put our feet up on the wall to help our body do its job. We're so thankful for our body, aren't we? And what it does all day. Let's pay it back with a little bit of circulation improvement. I'll see you guys tomorrow. Just for today. Get your feet up in the air on that wall. I'll see you tomorrow. You're gonna get a good night's rest tonight, aren't you?
