The NT Is Arming Undertrained Officers… What Could Possibly Go Wrong?
The Northern Territory Government has decided to arm PPSOs — officers who do not have full police training — and they’re pretending it’s “the same” as having fully sworn constables. As a former police officer, I’m calling this out for what it is: a dangerous shortcut that will lead to unlawful arrests, unlawful use of force, and civilians being shot.
This isn’t policing — it’s political theatre. And unless someone speaks up, Australians will pay the price.
