- 0:01If you have an anxious attachment style, your ex is
- 0:04probably an avoidant and depending on how many videos

- 0:13just not true. You do have a chance to get your
- 0:16avoidant ex back, so stay tuned. But first, I'd like to welcome
- 0:20back my beautiful no contact Army.
- 0:22Have you downloaded my app Silencio?

- 0:41nocontactsecrets.com where you can read two free chapters
- 0:45before you purchase the book. So in case this is your first
- 0:49time hearing about attachment styles, the one thing you need
- 0:52to know is that anything other than a secure attachment is
- 0:55insecure and there's a core wound.
- 0:58So dismissive avoidance fear a loss of independence.
- 1:02Anxiously, anxiously attached fear abandonment and fearful
- 1:07avoidance is naturally the worst because it's a combination of
- 1:12both. So they fear a loss of
- 1:14independence, and they also fear abandonment.
- 1:19So you can see how a relationship between an avoidant
- 1:23and an anxious can lead to problems since they want totally
- 1:27opposite things, which then leads to breakups, usually with
- 1:32the avoidant being the dumper. So why the heck would they come
- 1:35back if they value independence so much, right?
- 1:38Well, several reasons. One, they didn't really have a
- 1:43good reason for leaving in the first place so they were
- 1:46triggered by by some minor issue and just wanted to get away from
- 1:50you. So if you do no contact and
- 1:54leave them alone they will eventually deactivate as it's
- 1:57called and reach out to you. They thought they had a good
- 2:01reason at the time, but once they get that distance they
- 2:04realize it wasn't that big a deal and they will want to
- 2:08reconnect. Or sometimes it's because their
- 2:11feelings for you will start to scare them and so they pull
- 2:15away. It's like they're thinking
- 2:18there's a boogeyman in the room and they run out.
- 2:23But then they see there's no boogeyman chasing them.
- 2:27And so they cautiously walk back and see there's no boogeyman
- 2:31there and they feel safe to go back in.
- 2:35But in order for an avoidant ex to feel safe coming back in, you
- 2:40cannot chase them when they run out of the room, so to speak.
- 2:44That's why no contact is especially effective with an
- 2:48avoidant. Which leads to our next reason.
- 2:51The mistake people with an anxious attachment style make is
- 2:55that they do everything to try to get the avoidant back, when
- 2:59instead they should actually be doing nothing.
- 3:03But because of their core wound, fear of abandonment, they have a
- 3:06hard time doing no contact. They panic and think they can't
- 3:10live without the avoidant and they have to get them back at
- 3:13all costs. And a partner acting like that
- 3:17is a total turn off for an avoidant.
- 3:21They just want to get away from you.
- 3:23Avoidance don't have a core wound of abandonment.
- 3:26They were not abandoned in childhood.
- 3:28Therefore, they have absolutely no problem with no contact, and
- 3:33during no contact, an anxious person is often flooded with
- 3:38positive memories and regret and wants to reach out as a result.
- 3:43And this will often be met with hostility because the avoidant
- 3:48is able to shut off positive memories, focus only on the
- 3:52worst part of their partner and it then leads to a disastrous
- 3:58dynamic. However, with sufficient time
- 4:02apart, avoidance start to shift their negative thoughts to more
- 4:06positive ones, as long as they are left alone.
- 4:11So stop reaching out and breaking no contact.
- 4:14That's why my Silencio app has a panic button on there.
- 4:18So if you're triggered and want to break no contact, you press
- 4:21the panic button and you'll hear my voice giving you many, many
- 4:26reasons as to why that's a very bad idea.
- 4:29And the link to that, as I mentioned earlier, is underneath
- 4:33every single video and podcast. So avoidance need time to start
- 4:37thinking about the positive memories and not just the
- 4:39negative ones. So give them the space to
- 4:42fantasize about you. So by staying in no contact,
- 4:46they feel safe and independent because of the space that you've
- 4:50given them. And make sure you give them lots
- 4:53of space. If you try too hard to
- 4:55reconnect, you will push them away.
- 4:57That's why you need to be working on your own attachment
- 5:01style in the meantime and stop worrying about if and when
- 5:04they're going to reach out. And you can only do that when
- 5:08you have a more secure attachment style.
- 5:11Give them the space to be alone with their thoughts.
- 5:13This is the only way that they can start to feel their
- 5:18repressed feelings of attachment.
- 5:20No one's putting pressure on them so they're able to
- 5:23deactivate. And that's why I'm always
- 5:26begging you guys to please stay in no contact and leave your
- 5:30exes alone. And This is why you will
- 5:33actually get rejected again if you don't listen to me and break
- 5:37no contact. Breaking no contact is just
- 5:40going to make them put up walls. You're already someone they feel
- 5:44they need to get away from. But if you stay in no contact,
- 5:47any walls they had put up will now come down and they will not
- 5:52put up any new walls now. It can take up to three months
- 5:57for an avoidant to be in their feelings more than their fears
- 6:01and to reach out. Let them set the pace for coming
- 6:05back. Don't try to jump back in or try
- 6:08to speed things up because of your anxiety.
- 6:10Remember, you're supposed to be working on your attachment style
- 6:13and no contact, right? And then one more reason why no
- 6:17contact will work on an avoidant is because their longing for you
- 6:22will intensify when they fail to establish a bond with new
- 6:25partners or they realize it's going to be hard to replace you.
- 6:29They start to miss you, they get into their feelings, and they
- 6:32eventually reach out. OK, so to recap as to why
- 6:36avoidance almost always come back, one is because they were
- 6:40triggered by something small and they realize there was no
- 6:43boogeyman chasing them. Two, because you've left them
- 6:47alone, you've done no contact. They deactivated, got into their
- 6:52feelings and realized they want you back.
- 6:54And three, they saw that they're not able to connect with anyone
- 6:58else or find anyone better. So now I want to hear from you.
