- 0:03access to cutting edge hypnosis with real clients facing genuine
- 0:07issues. Brought to you by the
- 0:10hypnotherapist, demanded by celebrities, CEOs and even
- 0:14royalty. Adam Cox.
- 0:16These recordings took place live from Adam's clinic in London's
- 0:19world famous Harley Street. This podcast features powerful
- 0:23hypnosis, so do not listen while driving or operating machinery.
- 0:27This recording is not suitable for those with epilepsy or
- 0:30severe mental health issues, so get yourself comfortable and
- 0:34enjoy today's episode of The Hypnotist.
- 0:41Hi, it's Adam here. And in this episode of The
- 0:44Hypnotist, you're going to be listening to an inner child
- 0:47hypnosis session that was created for.
- 0:49A client that had. A long term eating disorder and
- 0:54the particular eating disorder that they had was bulimia.
- 0:58Where they would. Quite often purge after eating,
- 1:02sometimes binge eating first before a purge, and sometimes
- 1:05just a meal time. And that was partly linked to
- 1:08emotions that they felt, and some of those emotions were
- 1:12linked. To feeling stressed or
- 1:14uncomfortable. And then the purge would help to
- 1:17mitigate that. So they were being rewarded by
- 1:19purging rather than rewarding by digesting the food.
- 1:24But they had. 2. Exceptions to this, and one was
- 1:28when they were pregnant that they were able to eat their food
- 1:33and digest their food not because necessarily they wanted
- 1:36to, but because they felt. It was important.
- 1:39For the livelihood and the and the nutritional need.
- 1:43Of their unborn. Child.
- 1:46So that gave me the idea for this particular hypnosis session
- 1:49for this. Client is to use.
- 1:50Inner child work for two. Reasons one.
- 1:54That they could have a representation of a part within
- 1:57them that. Was.
- 1:58Deeply in need of kindness, love and nutrition.
- 2:02But secondly, because they wanted to be a good role model
- 2:05for their daughter. They were worried that if they
- 2:08didn't make this. Change.
- 2:09That they would be consciously or unconsciously increasing the
- 2:13probability that their daughter would also have an eating
- 2:16disorder. And what that does for me as a
- 2:18hypnotherapist is it gives me emotional leverage so that we
- 2:22can create a neural pathway which is already there.
- 2:26They had evidence of. Putting someone else's.
- 2:30Needs ahead of their own, but of course the inner child
- 2:33represents both. It represents a way for them to
- 2:36be a good role model, but also for them to.
- 2:38Nourish themselves. And that part within them that.
- 2:41Really needs kind. Behaviour, so there's a bit
- 2:45going on here. It was created.
- 2:46For an individual. So not all of the suggestions
- 2:50are going to make sense for anyone else because every
- 2:51eating. Disorder is unique.
- 2:53It has. Its own triggers.
- 2:55Known rituals and routines. But if you think that hypnosis
- 2:59might be something that is right for you, but you're not sure,
- 3:03there will be a link in the description where you can take a
- 3:06very quick suitability test takes about one minute, maybe 2
- 3:10minutes depending on how fast you complete it.
- 3:13And then you'll be able to figure out very quickly if
- 3:15hypnosis is something that would be suitable for you and if
- 3:18you're suitable for hypnosis. So if you're.
- 3:20Curious. You've always wondered, you
- 3:23know. Would hypnotherapy be good for
- 3:25you? Check out that link in the
- 3:26description and and and. Complete.
- 3:29That suitability test. For now though, let's give you a
- 3:34hypnosis experience based on this session.
- 3:36So find a quiet, comfortable place where you won't be
- 3:38disturbed. Relax and enjoy the session.
- 4:10Take a deep breath in, and as you breathe in, breathe in that
- 4:18slow, long, relaxing breath. And as you exhale, just allow
- 4:25your eyelids to close. That's in and as they close,
- 4:31start to feel a growing sense of connection with yourself.
- 4:39Become aware of certain things that normally happen without you
- 4:46noticing. The rhythm of your breath, any
- 4:53sensations of tension somewhere in your body.
- 5:00And as you breathe in, just imagine breathing in relaxation,
- 5:07and as you exhale, feel a wonderful sense of release.
- 5:16Like any stress, tension and worries are slowly leaving your
- 5:22body in your outward breath. That's it.
- 5:30And I wonder if you can use the power of your imagination to
- 5:37imagine a colour that represents kindness.
- 5:45Maybe a bright colour like yellow, blue or purple or
- 5:50something else. And as you breathe in that
- 5:56colour of kindness, allow yourself to release any stress,
- 6:02worries and tension. And as you exhale, just imagine
- 6:10dark shadowy colours like grey, black leaving your body in your
- 6:17outward breath, breathing in relaxation and kindness and
- 6:26exhaling anything that's there that you would like to release.
- 6:37And the deeper you breathe, the more relaxed you become.
- 6:43And the more relaxed you become, the deeper you breathe, as you
- 6:49consider this an emotional transfusion, breathing in
- 6:55relaxation and kindness and exhaling anything that feels
- 7:01toxic, stressful, any sadness or pain, just allow it to leave
- 7:08your body in that outward breath.
- 7:11As you continue breathing in that colour and exhaling the
- 7:17grey and the dark and find yourself drifting deeper, deeper
- 7:29and deeper, relaxed. And as your body relaxes, your
- 7:34imagination awakens. And I wonder if you could
- 7:40imagine a big house with a big backyard, a kind of garden with
- 7:51a deck and a pool, a big tree with a nearby bench, and allow
- 8:01yourself to just explore that garden, that yard.
- 8:07And maybe you could imagine blue California skies.
- 8:15You could even imagine the sensation of sunshine on your
- 8:19skin. Gentle breeze perhaps, But allow
- 8:28yourself to experience a sense of freedom and play, continuing
- 8:36to breathe in that relaxation and kindness, and continuing to
- 8:42let go of anything that is no longer useful.
- 8:47Deeper and deeper. Relaxed.
- 8:57I want you to consider this garden a part within you, a
- 9:06peaceful part where imagination, memory and emotion all meet.
- 9:14And in this wonderful safe space, I'd like you to imagine a
- 9:24path that starts in that garden but leads elsewhere.
- 9:35And as you walk, you begin to sense that you are not alone.
- 9:46And maybe you could imagine a bench under a tree, and sitting
- 9:52on that bench is a child sitting alone.
- 10:02But this child looks thin, weak and tired, with sad eyes, eyes
- 10:13wide with longing. And you can think of this child
- 10:19as a representation of your inner child.
- 10:28You get to decide the age of this child, the gender of this
- 10:33child. It doesn't have to be you from
- 10:37your childhood, it just represents a part of you.
- 10:42And maybe this inner child is young, unsure, perhaps even
- 10:53malnourished. Maybe you get the sense that
- 10:57this child is hungry not just for food.
- 11:05I want you to imagine that this young malnourished child is
- 11:12hungry also for care, protection, consistency, for
- 11:19love. And I wonder if you could
- 11:26imagine sitting beside this child and just notice how the
- 11:33child looks at you. Maybe they're looking at you
- 11:40like a long lost friend or maybe a stranger.
- 11:46Maybe they look uncertain or hopeful, but deep down, this
- 11:55child wants to trust you. And as you sit beside this
- 12:03child, you feel a warm commitment begin to grow inside
- 12:09you. A vow, a promise to never
- 12:18abandoned this child again. All of us have this inner child
- 12:27that needs play and love, protection and nourishment.
- 12:36And I want you to imagine that you are the adult that this
- 12:42child needs. And what if you get to choose
- 12:49how this weak, fragile child is nourished out of nowhere?
- 13:01I want you to imagine the table appears beautifully set, full of
- 13:14healthy Mediterranean foods. I want you to see salads and
- 13:22fruits and vegetables, but also perhaps freshly prepared bread
- 13:33or croissants, maybe olives, tomatoes.
- 13:41I want you to see a feast of ripe fruits, wholesome grains,
- 13:47colourful vegetables and nourishing proteins, all
- 13:52prepared with love, the way a parent would care for their most
- 13:58beloved child. And I want you to offer this
- 14:05child something from the table. Allow your intuition to choose
- 14:11it. Allow your intuition to choose
- 14:14something that you know this child will like, desire, but
- 14:20also need. Look at their face of gratitude,
- 14:30deep appreciation. There is no entitlement here.
- 14:36They weren't expecting the food, but they are craving the food.
- 14:44And as you see the child take it and eat it, notice their body is
- 14:51already responding. Maybe their skin becomes a bit
- 14:57more vibrant, their eyes a bit brighter.
- 15:05Maybe you see more energy in that weakness, and with each
- 15:11bite the child grows stronger because food is no longer a
- 15:21battleground. It's a gift.
- 15:31It's love and it's safety. And then I want you to imagine
- 15:38something even more fascinating that as you start eating the
- 15:47food, feeling the sensation in your stomach, I want you to get
- 15:56a sense that you are now feeding the inner child through your
- 16:02choices. Every bite you take is not for
- 16:07you. It's for them that as you eat,
- 16:14they become nourished. As you enjoy, they enjoy.
- 16:23But enjoyment isn't what you bite and chew or swallow.
- 16:29The way you impact this child is what you digest.
- 16:38In the same way you can't nourish a body by just chewing
- 16:43food, imagine that you can't nourish this inner child unless
- 16:51you choose swallow and digest. And I want you to imagine that
- 17:03any emotions? That you.
- 17:06Feel after eating, perhaps stress or discomfort.
- 17:13Maybe a craving or a compulsion isn't real.
- 17:20It's just an echo, an echo of old neural pathways.
- 17:29Scientists have discovered that if someone loses an arm or a leg
- 17:37in a car accident, they can still feel the sensation of
- 17:42itches or tickles on a limb that no longer exists.
- 17:50And if that's possible for them, it's possible for you to feel
- 17:56discomfort after eating because you're teaching your stomach how
- 18:05to hold onto food, how to digest food.
- 18:11You're teaching your body new skills, and those skills can be
- 18:17uncomfortable, and that's OK. So with every healthy meal you
- 18:25choose, imagine that it's not just about you.
- 18:31You are sending a message to your inner child that they
- 18:36matter, that they are safe now, that you are there for them, and
- 18:49because they're malnourished. You prioritize healthy,
- 18:53nutritious foods and you know that by digesting them.
- 19:03It's a gift to your inner child. And a gift to your inner child
- 19:09is simply a proxy for a gift to your child, because as you learn
- 19:18how to intuitively eat healthily, you are becoming the
- 19:26very role model to teach your daughter a way of eating that
- 19:35you would want them to replicate.
- 19:41Imagine now joining you at this table right next to this inner
- 19:48child is your daughter. See their face.
- 19:54And I want you to eat the food the way you would want your
- 19:58daughter to see you eating mindfully, enjoyably,
- 20:05intuitively, that by eating this way.
- 20:12You are sending unconscious messages to her as to how to eat
- 20:20in a natural, healthy way. As you feed yourself, you are
- 20:27feeding your inner child. And maybe your daughter is
- 20:31learning. Maybe she sees a mother that
- 20:38prioritizes nourishment, balance, intuitive, healthy
- 20:45eating. It shows that food is not to be
- 20:49feared or controlled, but to be embraced with joy, curiosity and
- 20:59care. What if you are becoming the
- 21:07safe place that your daughter needs?
- 21:12A mother who teaches not with words alone, but with actions
- 21:18rooted in love? And not every meal has to be
- 21:25healthy and nutritious. I want you to see other foods on
- 21:30this table too, foods that might be more processed or less
- 21:36healthy, but not everything has to be nutrition.
- 21:44Some food can be just for taste and pleasure, just to enjoy.
- 21:55From this point forward, I want you to imagine that every meal
- 22:02is no longer just for you. I want you to imagine it's a
- 22:07healing ritual, a ceremony of reclaiming power, a declaration
- 22:16that might end a generational cycle.
- 22:22And this cycle ends with you. So from this moment forward,
- 22:31food becomes your way of nurturing, not just your body,
- 22:36but the inner child within and a little girl watching from
- 22:42outside. Children will pay more attention
- 22:49to what you do than what you say.
- 22:52And what if every meal is an opportunity?
- 23:00An opportunity to be that role model, to be that example.
- 23:06To show. Not, say, an intuitive, positive
- 23:12relationship with food. And I wonder if you can bring
- 23:19your awareness to a future moment, no longer in the garden,
- 23:25but in your home, in your normal surroundings, perhaps just a
- 23:32week or two weeks or three weeks from now.
- 23:37I want you to imagine then, day by day, progress by progress,
- 23:46breakthrough by breakthrough. There is a new relationship with
- 23:52food, a new pattern. And maybe you can imagine
- 23:57watching yourself preparing a beautiful yet simple meal.
- 24:03Imagine that you are eating it, the presence of your daughter,
- 24:09and eating it slowly, mindfully, and feel your daughter nearby,
- 24:17smiling, relaxed and content. No tension, no shame, no
- 24:23secrecy, only love, because your healing is her inheritance.
- 24:34You are teaching by living, by being.
- 24:43Get a sense that this is the future you are heading towards.
- 24:52Then take yourself back to that table, that bench, that place in
- 24:57nature near a garden you knew very well.
- 25:00And it's time to say goodbye. But as you say goodbye to that
- 25:06inner child, you see that they are already looking more
- 25:11nourished, already looking healthier and happier and loved.
- 25:20And make a promise to that child that you will eat for them.
- 25:32And if you feel that you can honour that promise, let me know
- 25:35by nodding your head. And sometimes things don't need
- 25:42to be easy, they just need to be worthwhile.
- 25:48Important. Humans will do more for others
- 25:53than they will do for themselves.
- 25:58And what is a gift to this inner child is a gift to yourself and
- 26:02a gift to your daughter. Then imagine going back to the
- 26:11garden, this time holding your daughter's hand.
- 26:14And I want you to play with your daughter the way you used to
- 26:18play in this place, maybe in the pool, on the deck, play near the
- 26:27sunshine. Just play, feel that connection,
- 26:36feel that love and the same promise you made to your inner
- 26:42child. You can secretly.
- 26:47Just in your own mind, make a promise to your daughter as to
- 26:53what kind of role model you want to be.
- 26:59It's time to leave this place in your imagination, but you leave
- 27:07with a different perspective, a different strategy, a different
- 27:13way of thinking that will lead to subtle or dramatic changes
- 27:24that will steer your future in a wonderful direction.
- 27:30So take a deep breath in through your nose and out through your
- 27:36nose. Just wiggle your fingers and
- 27:39wiggle your toes as now I count from 1:00 to 10:00 to awaken you
- 27:47where you will return fully in the present, fully in the
- 27:52moment. Starting to count 123 Waking up
