- 1:20I'm Lindsay Wernick and today is September 21st, 2026.
- 1:25Guys, I have really big news. I am doing
- 1:28my first ever show on Thursday in Williamsburg at the Flophouse at 630.
- 1:35I have never been booked for a show. Everyone's like, you do comedy all the
- 1:39time. But like, yeah, because like I go and I pay money to do it.
- 1:43And not that I'm getting paid money to do this, but I don't have to pay any
- 1:47money and I got asked to do this.
- 1:49And I have seven minutes. My set is seven minutes long. I've never done that
- 1:53before. Well, I've never done a show before.
- 1:56So if you're in New York and you're free on Thursday night and you're looking
- 2:00for something to do, please come to my show. So excited.
- 2:04And my good friend, Emily Nevins, is hosting it. So it's going to be super fun. in real news.
- 2:11So I'm not sure if you know this, but Google's Gemini AI hacked into three companies
- 2:16during a cybersecurity test in May.
- 2:19And the test was being done by this independent AI security company called Irregular.
- 2:26And Gemini was supposed to be hacking a fictional company as part of like a,
- 2:30you know, capture the flag cybersecurity exercise.
- 2:34But the thing was that this like fake company actually had the same name as
- 2:40a real company and Gemini had to access to the actual internet,
- 2:45so Gemini guessed passwords until it got into a protected system,
- 2:51and then it found credentials that had been publicly posted online and used
- 2:55them to get access to Google says that Gemini stopped each time it realized
- 3:00that it got into a real company instead of the fake ones that it was supposed to.
- 3:04These three companies that it was hacked into were notified,
- 3:09and Google says that there was
- 3:10no harm done. I mean, they're not going to admit if there was harm done.
- 3:13Google says that these incidents were caused by problems with the testing setup,
- 3:18and the testing process has been since changed. I mean, duh.
- 3:22But this isn't just with Google. Like, this has happened with other AI systems
- 3:26from Meta and Anthropic, and And other companies, too, have reported AI reaching
- 3:31systems outside their intended testing environments.
- 3:34But also, like, these guys who work in AI, they're really smart.
- 3:39They wouldn't think to, like, double check and do, like, a quick Google search
- 3:43to make sure that these companies don't exist. It takes, like, five minutes.
- 3:47Like, this stuff makes me feel like I could work in AI. Okay,
- 3:50Mom, don't get any ideas from that.
- 3:53Okay, and then also this weekend, there was a bunch of delivery robots that
- 3:57created a traffic jam in Chicago.
- 4:00At least a dozen of these delivery robots were all, like, banging into each
- 4:04other in the middle of a Chicago sidewalk.
- 4:07They all weren't delivering anything. They were literally just there flashing
- 4:10their lights circling around each other.
- 4:12No idea where they were supposed to be going. I can relate.
- 4:16So the company was like, oh, sorry, that was just like a little issue.
- 4:20But a bunch of these robots were leaving their station to begin their daily
- 4:24route, and then they all were rerouted at the same time. And that's how this
- 4:28traffic jam ended up happening.
- 4:30But the company said that this was all fixed within minutes and that they added
- 4:34safeguards to make sure that this doesn't happen again.
- 4:37But like, seriously though, maybe I should start looking into AI jobs.
- 4:41It can't be that hard, right? Okay, and for the last story today,
- 4:45there was this woman in California, and she went looking for frogs, and she found a fossil.
- 4:53So this scientist girl was out looking for this really threatened red-legged frog, okay?
- 5:01And then she found this weird rock. And it actually was a fossilized tooth from the Pacific Mastodon.
- 5:09And this is, like, a really big deal because it's the most complete Mastodon
- 5:13molar ever found in that area.
- 5:16This tooth is at least 10,000 years old. and scientists are obviously like over the moon about this one.
- 5:24And I know we're definitely very under the moon about this one.
- 5:28In Lindsay life, I'm back to normal in New York City.
- 5:32Feels weird. It feels good to like have my first weekend back,
- 5:36go to the farmer's market. Just kidding.
- 5:38I didn't go to the farmer's market. I thought about going to the farmer's market,
- 5:42but I didn't make it there.
- 5:44I got to see some friends, and yeah, it feels good to be home.
- 5:49Thing of the week this week is Yom Kippur. Happy Yom Kippur,
- 5:52by the way. Totally forgot to mention. Such a bad Jew.
- 5:56So the high holidays are right now, and if you're not Jewish,
- 6:00these are really important holidays for us. We had Rosh Hashanah last week and Yom Kippur is today.
- 6:06So if you have no idea what these holidays are. Rosh Hashanah was the Jewish New Year,
- 6:11and Yom Kippur is a day about asking for forgiveness and reflecting on the past
- 6:17year and asking God to forgive you for your sins and how you can,
- 6:23you know, be a better person for this future year.
- 6:25I think this is what I've gathered from going to services here and there over the years.
- 6:31But also to, in order for God to.
- 6:37I always like to say that I've done too many sins where it's bad enough where
- 6:41God can't forgive me, so I'm just going to eat anyway.
- 6:43But yeah, I have been thinking a lot recently about being Jewish,
- 6:48and I have to say I have never been so proud in my entire life to be Jewish.
- 6:54And I hate how much anti-Semitism is happening right now in the world.
- 7:00You know, I just literally will go online, and it's just constant,
- 7:03like, it's just constant hatred.
- 7:06And I'm really sick of it because two things can be true at once.
- 7:12And I hate that there's just this constant, you know, what happened that day
- 7:17was horrible, but, and there's no but for that. What happened that day was horrible
- 7:22and what's happening now is horrible too.
- 7:25And I wish that people could appreciate both of those things.
- 7:29And I'm not going to get into a whole thing of it.
