- 0:06Hey guys, welcome back to Mom Gone Mild.
- 0:09I'm your host Lex, and I hope you guys had an amazing week.
- 0:13I know I have finally, finally, finally I'm seeing the light at
- 0:17the end of the tunnel. Axel is getting better with
- 0:21because he was suffering from a cold.
- 0:22So that was a nightmare. But you know, we're getting
- 0:24through it and talking about we I have a very special guest this
- 0:29week. I have my husband Randy.
- 0:32I know I finally convinced him to come on the show and we're so
- 0:36excited to have him on. So let's see what we get into.
- 0:40Have a very special guest, my husband Randy.
- 0:44You guys know I talk about him all the time.
- 0:47So Randy, we're so glad to have you here and mom gone.
- 0:49Mild welcome. Thank you for having me.
- 0:54He's really the shy one. I'm obviously the one that can't
- 0:57stop talking. So but you know, we're so
- 1:01excited to have you here and I'm always talking about like
- 1:03different point of views of my side.
- 1:06So I can't wait to kind of get into that, but a little bit more
- 1:09of that later. So let's start from the
- 1:12beginning, Randy, How long have we kind of known each other?
- 1:16I know like we weren't like super close in the beginning,
- 1:19but. Oh, definitely not.
- 1:20We were, and we knew each other through mutual friends.
- 1:24Yeah. And I was living at our mutual
- 1:27friend's house at the time, being where I really met you.
- 1:31And. Yeah.
- 1:32And you had a girlfriend. Yeah, I had a girlfriend at the
- 1:35time. No overlap at all.
- 1:37I mean, I personally had zero chemistry with you.
- 1:40Oh. I was stuck in the bedroom the
- 1:42whole time. She like locked me away from any
- 1:44female that walked in the. House.
- 1:46Yeah, that's true. It's interesting.
- 1:48Hardly saw you, but that's just how it is.
- 1:52And then, just years later, we reconnected.
- 1:56I slid into your DMS. You slid into my DMS, I was dropping the
- 2:03seeds on your comments section. Yeah, you were kind of in there.
- 2:06Yeah, for sure. So years later we got together,
- 2:10I slid into DMS and I don't know, like what were your
- 2:14thoughts? I guess like when I did that,
- 2:16did you think that it was going to be serious?
- 2:18Did you think it was going to be a one night stand?
- 2:21I, I really couldn't tell because I mean, obviously I
- 2:25showed interest a few times over social media and yeah, I wasn't,
- 2:30I was just kind of going in open minded thinking, hey, this could
- 2:34go somewhere or it's just going to be a one night stand like you
- 2:38just mentioned. Well, I won't lie, I thought it
- 2:40was going to be a one night stand.
- 2:43It really felt like it, but I think the amount of times we
- 2:46were talking up until we hung out, I think that's kind of
- 2:49changed over time, yeah. And then like I always joke
- 2:52around with my friends, like I literally went to your house and
- 2:55just like never left. Yeah, pretty much every time she
- 2:59showed up, it was like more clothes would end up in my
- 3:02closet. So I.
- 3:03Know I remember just like bags on bags.
- 3:06I was such a hobo back then, like literally with I don't
- 3:10know, I kind of just went to not like other people's houses like
- 3:13guys, but like even with my friend's house, like Nina's
- 3:16house, I would like show up with like ton of bags.
- 3:18So I guess that was just my thing, but So what made it feel
- 3:21like different? I mean, I think it was just the
- 3:26fact that we immediately bonded like friends, but there was, you
- 3:30know, the chemistry and I don't know, we just enjoyed the same
- 3:35shows we want. We binge watched a lot of The
- 3:38Office the. Office non-stop.
- 3:40I think like that was my first time ever.
- 3:41Like really going through the office and I was so freaking
- 3:45obsessed. It was like wake up office, like
- 3:48just through the whole day. We finished that series so fast.
- 3:54Yeah, we finished the weekend watching Archie, if you
- 3:57remember. Oh, Riverdale.
- 3:59Riverdale That's that's. A Oh my gosh, she's blast from
- 4:03the past. Like that was a good first
- 4:05season, but the second season was awful.
- 4:08Sorry, it got really bad. So we're going to like play a
- 4:11little game kind of to warm you up and just make you feel
- 4:15comfortable. It's who said what first?
- 4:21Oh my God, if you remember. I don't.
- 4:24I, I mean, I think I remember, but I guess we'll see.
- 4:27So who said I love you first? You did.
- 4:30I'm pretty sure you did. You said it by accident when we
- 4:34were saying goodbye on the phone.
- 4:36Oh my gosh, I don't even remember that.
- 4:39Yeah, I have a good memory. I have a terrible memory, like
- 4:42I'm awful at that stuff. Who would like text more, me or
- 4:46you? It depends, like if you were out
- 4:51or if I was at home board I would be blowing your stuff.
- 4:54Up okay so it's so funny because I wasn't gonna bring up this
- 4:56story, but now that we're on that do you remember New Year's
- 5:01Eve when I went to. Vegas.
- 5:04Yeah, I remember blowing your phone up because I was like
- 5:09drunk and I guess I was getting possessive.
- 5:12Yeah, no, I like had. I was like up at Dre's, we're
- 5:16celebrating. I had no cell service at all.
- 5:18It was kind. It was annoying because I was
- 5:19trying to text you and stuff. But then like I went back to the
- 5:22room and I got like all these calls, texts.
- 5:25I was like I'll bling. Thankfully I like actually broke
- 5:31my phone that night. Oh God.
- 5:33Yeah, well, I mean, it wasn't like I broke it from drunk
- 5:36stupidity. Well, kinda.
- 5:37I left it outside and it was the harbor and yeah, it was
- 5:42extremely cold and yeah, that thing froze and broke.
- 5:45Oh well, lesson, don't leave your phone outside when you're
- 5:48at the harbor. And don't be a psycho when
- 5:50you're first engaging with a girl.
- 5:52That's very true. I'm actually really actually I'm
- 5:55not that surprised because on my side I'm like, I'm used to being
- 6:00the psychotic 1. So I was like, OK, this is kind
- 6:02of hot. Somebody being like this towards
- 6:04me. Toxic talking about toxic.
- 6:10The next question, who was more toxic in the beginning?
- 6:18In the beginning, I drank and had a lot of fun, and that kind
- 6:23of stuff can get very toxic. Yeah, yeah, definitely,
- 6:26definitely. I was at my stage of exiting
- 6:29drinking like you were, so I was more tame.
- 6:33You were a bit of a wild one. Yeah, Wild, wild, wild.
- 6:37Yeah, that was years and years of that.
- 6:40But you know what? We got through it and we got
- 6:42through it stronger, I think. I mean, we ended up married,
- 6:47having a house and a baby. So that's true.
- 6:50That's true. I think we we got somewhere.
- 6:51Yes, I think. We're OK.
- 6:52And like, you know, I love being like, honest.
- 6:55So in the beginning, I feel like we did argue a lot.
- 7:01We had our fair share of arguments and stuff like that.
- 7:04So what just made you kind of just want to stay around and be
- 7:07like, all right, I'm going to work it out with her?
- 7:12Just the fact that I wouldn't feel like I'm losing someone I
- 7:15actually love. I'm losing my best friend
- 7:17because we were hanging out and it just, I don't know, just felt
- 7:22right. I.
- 7:23Mean it's just. Yeah, I just enjoyed your
- 7:26company. And if I, you know, you would
- 7:29think the next day if you're not with that person, you're not
- 7:31communicating with them, would you miss them?
- 7:33So that kind of got me a little bit deeper into the into us.
- 7:40That's sweet. OK.
- 7:44Yeah. Well, I'm going to bring this up
- 7:47because, well, I'm going to bring this up for the rest of
- 7:49our lives because it really pissed me off.
- 7:51So it took you 6 years, Six years to propose?
- 7:59Yeah, and you told me don't propose on New Year's Eve.
- 8:02And I mean what better time to propose to you?
- 8:06No, what I said was this is my ultimatum.
- 8:09Yes, I am a psycho. I gave him an ultimatum.
- 8:13I told him you have until New Year's Eve or else I'm out.
- 8:18And what did you do? I propose New Year's Eve.
- 8:22Past midnight, by the way, that was a crazy night because it was
- 8:28like, I don't know, LA had it's like first tsunami and like, and
- 8:32I was so wild, like things were falling over.
- 8:35It was just like crazy rain. And but that moment was so
- 8:40special when you propose and then it just all went downhill
- 8:45after. Yeah, you're going to bring that
- 8:48up? Oh.
- 8:49I'm going to go into details, but it got really ratchet, Not
- 8:53like between us, but like we went to like a New Year's Eve
- 8:56party and it just got ghetto. Let's be honest.
- 9:01A house party in Simi Valley on New Year's Eve.
- 9:03Yeah. It got you could definitely see
- 9:05the rest. Yeah, definitely.
- 9:07It got to the point where it was like, OK, we need to leave, Cops
- 9:11came. It was like definitely one of
- 9:14those stories that like you don't go into great detail, but
- 9:17it's something that really solidifies the night and just
- 9:21makes it even more memorable. But that was wild and.
- 9:29To say the least, yeah. Literally like Crazy Legs came
- 9:33out that night but it wasn't towards you so.
- 9:37Surprise. Surprise, surprise, surprise.
- 9:40But yeah, anyway, so I want to Fast forward a little to where
- 9:45kind of we were, Can you believe it's going to be 9 months, nine
- 9:49months ago pregnancy. Yeah, time is flying.
- 9:56Literally I'm like, we're already planning his first
- 9:58birthday. It's just so, it's moving so
- 10:01damn fast. I don't know.
- 10:03It's just like people always say like enjoy it.
- 10:06It's just like always going to happen so fast, but you don't
- 10:08really notice until like you're living it and you just see every
- 10:13day that he's growing. And anyway, this is to get into
- 10:17pregnancies. So I want to know like when what
- 10:21was your first reaction to find out?
- 10:22Like, hey Randy, I'm pregnant. I was excited.
- 10:26I just instantly wanted to know the gender of it.
- 10:29Yeah. And I just felt like this time
- 10:33it was right. Yeah.
- 10:35I felt like it was just a sure thing.
- 10:37And the excitement was just, yeah, it was really up there and
- 10:42I was really high and I just wanted to tell the world.
- 10:45So yeah, I was. I was stoked.
- 10:47Yeah, for sure. So my pregnancy, like I tell you
- 10:51guys, you guys can go back to listen to my birth story, my
- 10:54point of view, but pregnancy was like really high risk.
- 10:58I had a lot of issues going on. Oh, you did?
- 11:02Yeah. So I want to know like, what are
- 11:04like, what did you think, like going through that?
- 11:06Because obviously I can only tell my side of the story.
- 11:10I mean, I knew there was going to be some complications and
- 11:14there was going to be some moments where it was just going
- 11:17to get intense. And it was scary for the for the
- 11:21most part because your body was going through such a massive
- 11:24change. And some of the times like your
- 11:27body was reacting in such a way. I was just like, what's
- 11:30happening? Like, yeah.
- 11:32And I I already was accustomed to not sleeping well before Axel
- 11:37was. Born.
- 11:38Yeah. When we got to the the part
- 11:41where your blood pressure became a concern, holy crap, that was
- 11:47yeah, every night we'd be awake checking and.
- 11:50Oh my gosh, I know. It was, it was really tough.
- 11:53But yeah, you were really good at listening to your body.
- 11:57You, you, you jumped to the the opportunity when you did.
- 12:01And yeah, it was impressive how you just kind of knew what to
- 12:06do. Well, I feel like that had a
- 12:07little bit to do with my nursing background.
- 12:09Like I knew I can just feel my body.
- 12:12It was changing. For those of you that haven't
- 12:14watched, you know, I had a really bad preeclampsia.
- 12:18My blood pressure was skyrocketing.
- 12:21I had, I'm already a diabetic so diabetes was out of control too.
- 12:26And it was just like so many up and downs.
- 12:28I was in and out of the hospital non-stop.
- 12:30So yeah, it was a lot to deal with.
- 12:34What? There was 0 sleep.
- 12:37Yeah, I can't even count how many times we were at the
- 12:39hospital. Oh, I know we were so many and I
- 12:42was like, I'm literally running away.
- 12:45I I was like, I need to go. I can't be at this hospital
- 12:48anymore. But shout out to the hospital
- 12:50because all the nurses, everyone was so chill.
- 12:52So thank you for that. Especially the one that taught
- 12:55me how to swaddle. Asshole.
- 12:56Yes, she was the best. She was the best.
- 12:58So what about picking Axel's name?
- 13:02Like, I don't know, like I don't remember how we ended up picking
- 13:06it. Like people asked me like, where
- 13:08did you come up with that name? And I I literally can't even
- 13:11remember. Well, we were just going through
- 13:14the normal baby lists you find online.
- 13:16Yeah, you look them up on TikTok, look them up on Google.
- 13:20And a lot of them, I'm like, these are just so I hear them
- 13:24all the time. And I wanted something a little
- 13:26bit more, something more unique, something that was also unique
- 13:30to us. And we came across this list of
- 13:33names that were uncommon. And Axel came up and I wanted to
- 13:36look up the definition. And I guess it's a Scandinavian
- 13:40name. And it, I guess it, it's meant
- 13:44for, you know, from when you were born up until you're a man,
- 13:47you already carry the instinct of fatherhood.
- 13:50So I kind of feel like that's a good a good in, you know, a good
- 13:53life to lead for Axel and just having a good.
- 13:56Start a good start. And plus, if you say it out
- 13:59loud, it kind of sounds like a mix of both of our names.
- 14:02That's true. But I did want like a Benjamin
- 14:05or something or like, what was the other one thought like my
- 14:09son is going to be like going to Harvard something.
- 14:12So I was like, he needs to have like an elite name.
- 14:14But Axel is a great name and I'm so excited that that's his name.
- 14:19He totally fits an Axel. His personality is Axel, yeah.
- 14:24And so when he's a bad boy, he's Alex.
- 14:26Yeah, or AJ. Sometimes he acts like an AJ for
- 14:30sure. Yep.
- 14:31So all right, so pregnancy. That was crazy.
- 14:35But you know what's even crazier?
- 14:37The birth story. I have told this story I feel
- 14:40like so many times, but I, I always like, I'm like, I wonder
- 14:46what it was like for you because we haven't really talked about
- 14:50it that much. I feel like it just happened and
- 14:52we kind of just were so excited, you know, with having axles.
- 14:55So I just kind of want to know a little bit.
- 14:57How is your point of view of the birth story?
- 15:01By the way, I had AC section emergency C-section so.
- 15:04Yeah, Yep. I was at home getting the dogs
- 15:08ready, getting packed up and kind of just prepping because
- 15:12you were induced. And I knew it was coming, but I
- 15:16didn't think it was coming that night.
- 15:17So I wasn't ready. I was starting to kind of turn
- 15:22in, go to bed, and thankfully I had like every alert with sound
- 15:28turned on because yeah, Alexis calls me at 11 saying, well.
- 15:33First of all, let me explain. Like you didn't just ditch me at
- 15:35the hospital. Like we had our dogs so we
- 15:38didn't have anyone to watch them or and it was so like, like we
- 15:42everything happened so fast that I just stayed at the hospital
- 15:45and they told me like, you wouldn't have the baby until
- 15:48like maybe 48 hours. And you also had a a list of
- 15:51things you required at the hospital.
- 15:53So I had to get. You together.
- 15:54So definitely you got it. Wasn't me just leaving her dry
- 15:57and dry like I. Really.
- 15:59In some way. Tomorrow.
- 16:00Yeah, cool. Yeah, I'm like, yeah, no, it
- 16:03wasn't like that at all. So let me just get that out
- 16:06there. Yeah, I mean, weird, but yeah,
- 16:11that night was crazy because yeah, I was pretty much half
- 16:16asleep, ready to turn in and had to get the rest of the bag
- 16:20packed up after Alexis called and said it's time to go.
- 16:23And I just remember getting two big bags packed and grabbing my
- 16:29work laptop and just jamming out the door driving probably 90.
- 16:35Plus shout out CHP for not pulling me over that night.
- 16:40And it was also terrible because the lanes were shut down to only
- 16:44two lanes on the freeway to get there.
- 16:46So zigzagging between trucks and that was scary.
- 16:50And also getting to the hospital was a pain in the butt because
- 16:54it was late at night. The front door was locked so I
- 16:57had to go through the ER and the security guard wanted to go
- 17:00through the entire boat bags and I'm telling him in real time
- 17:04like. Luggage that we had.
- 17:06Luggage. Like the big luggage?
- 17:11Yeah, and I'm trying to tell the guy like my son is about to be
- 17:14born. I gotta go.
- 17:15Like, yeah, time is good. He he was taking a sweet ass
- 17:20time and he thought he was helping me.
- 17:21But yeah, he was a Jackass. No shout outs for that guy.
- 17:26Well, yeah, once I got up there, they got me dressed up ready to
- 17:29go and they said you're going to meet your son within 10 to 15
- 17:33minutes. And I was sweating bullets like
- 17:36I was panicking. I had the N95 mask, the whole
- 17:41gown and cap and everything. And when I went in there, it was
- 17:48it was not what I expected. I didn't expect the ER nurse
- 17:52next to me to be just some chill guy just laughing going your
- 17:56wife is asleep, she's not supposed to be sleeping.
- 17:58And I'm like, what do you mean she's not supposed to be
- 18:01sleeping? I guess she was having a panic
- 18:04attack. I didn't have a panic attack.
- 18:05It was crazy. I, like, wanted to jump off the
- 18:07table. They were like, we need to put
- 18:08her to sleep. It was that training.
- 18:11Yeah, literally. I was just like, I think that
- 18:13was the last moment I've ever enjoyed of sleeping again.
- 18:18So my body probably knew like girl, just take a nap.
- 18:22Yeah, that was crazy. And they were telling me that,
- 18:25you know, where I was sitting, there's no way I'm going to see
- 18:27anything. And I asked the hard nurse, why
- 18:31do I see everything through the reflection on this big window?
- 18:34I'm literally seeing all of her guts being taken out of her.
- 18:37So that wasn't fun. And the moment they were pulling
- 18:41Axel out, that was, I mean, I don't know if you're going to
- 18:43cut this out, but they started to pull him out and the pressure
- 18:48of him coming out, all this blood started to just build up
- 18:53and spew. And they had this, these two
- 18:55tubes routing, all the blood spewing into a bucket.
- 18:59It was nasty. I was freaking out saying, is
- 19:02this normal? The guy was laughing.
- 19:04I'm sure he was stoned out of his mind.
- 19:06I feel like he was. He was.
- 19:07So chill. I'm like bro this is weird why
- 19:10are you so chill? Anyway he was just laughing and
- 19:14kind of calming me down through the process which was
- 19:17appreciated. But at that moment, like they
- 19:19pull Axel out and I just remember seeing that big head of
- 19:23hair and I'm like, he is so cute.
- 19:27I usually think, I'm sorry to say, but I usually think babies
- 19:30are ugly. Well, A.
- 19:30Lot of newborns. Well, they just look like
- 19:34aliens. Yeah they all look like aliens
- 19:36but I just might be biased because axles are sun.
- 19:39But he was super cute. Yeah, yeah, I remember just
- 19:42saying to you, we're lucky he's cute.
- 19:45Yeah, I remember, like, woke up and I was like, wait a second,
- 19:49where am I? I don't know.
- 19:51I heard a baby crying. Then the baby was like next to
- 19:54my head. And I was like, OK, yeah.
- 19:57And yeah, it was. It was crazy.
- 20:00So that was the experience of our delivery.
- 20:05And Axel made it into the world. And you know I.
- 20:11I don't know, like we're going to get into something a little
- 20:13bit deeper, obviously. So I, I talk about this a lot.
- 20:19I suffered really bad postpartum depression, postpartum anxiety,
- 20:23which a lot of women suffer. It's nothing that is abnormal.
- 20:28But yeah, so I just feel like it hit me really hard.
- 20:31I don't know. Did you like, realize something
- 20:33was going on or did I hide it well in my mind?
- 20:37I thought I hit it well. No, you didn't hide it well.
- 20:40OK. I mean, to your credit, yes, you
- 20:43hit it in front of people that didn't know like your
- 20:46characteristics and me. You can't bullshit a bullshit or
- 20:50I I could spot you from a mile away if you're upset, you're
- 20:53down. So it's it's kind of easy for me
- 20:55to spot out, but that was a different wave of depression
- 21:00I've never witnessed. Yeah.
- 21:02I don't know what was like the hardest part for you because I
- 21:05can obviously talk about my hardest parts which I have, but
- 21:08I don't know what was like your point of view of this.
- 21:12There would be points where I would just see no emotion out of
- 21:14you and that was really concerning.
- 21:16Yeah, yeah, it was scary. Yeah.
- 21:19That part was pretty tough. Yeah, yeah.
- 21:22But, you know, I feel like we got through it and I don't know,
- 21:27you were just really there for me throughout the whole
- 21:29experience. Like, we didn't really like,
- 21:30talk about like, oh, you're depressed.
- 21:33Like you were just there for me. You did a lot of stuff.
- 21:36I mean, just like, you know, helping with Axel, doing the
- 21:39chores, just like just letting me, I asked like, just be able
- 21:45to express myself. So that was like a big thing
- 21:48because sometimes couples, they can argue and, you know, I can
- 21:53make the relationship worse. Yeah, I mean, if you're not a
- 21:58selfish person, it's pretty easy.
- 22:00Yeah, that's true. Or you just don't know, you know
- 22:03how to handle it. Most people don't know how to
- 22:05handle, like, mental health or like, deal with it.
- 22:08But I just feel like you gave me, like, enough space.
- 22:11The word is also there for me. So thank you.
- 22:14Well. Thank you for birthing our
- 22:17beautiful baby boy. Yes, yes.
- 22:19All right. So now something a little bit
- 22:21more light hearted, I want to talk about this.
- 22:23I'm going to call our an era because this literally was an
- 22:27era, a DoorDash era. We literally should have been
- 22:30sponsored because I don't know. I just remember one day we
- 22:35literally ordered breakfast, lunch, dinner and I think like a
- 22:39coffee. Or or Jamba Juice.
- 22:43Yeah. Or, Oh my gosh, I was so
- 22:45obsessed with Jamba Juice. It was crazy.
- 22:48Just it was really. Bad.
- 22:50We probably spent over $100 on just Jamba in a month.
- 22:53Probably. And I just like, you know, like
- 22:55I have, we have that rocket money and it's just like it
- 22:58keeps telling us now, like congratulations, you're saving
- 23:00so much money. And it's just like, damn, we
- 23:04really. I'm telling you, we should have
- 23:06been sponsored by DoorDash for sure goes into us like when we
- 23:12first started dating, you know, we were both like really in
- 23:15shape and then obviously you get comfortable.
- 23:20Too comfortable. We didn't want to go anywhere.
- 23:22We just wanted to hang out. Yeah.
- 23:24Watch, binge watch. Watch movies.
- 23:27Yeah, binge eat. Binge eat.
- 23:29Holy crap, we tried a lot of different things.
- 23:33Yeah, that was it's. Embarrassing to say.
- 23:36It is embarrassing, but I feel like we, you know, it's just
- 23:40like it happens to a lot of people.
- 23:41You just like find the comfort in your own home and it's like
- 23:45you don't want to leave. And it's just like kind of like
- 23:47we fell into like a cycle and it was just comfortable for us.
- 23:51Feel like we have broken that cycle because we both are, you
- 23:54know, we're in the middle of 75 hard.
- 23:56I think we're on the 52nd, 3rd date. 53rd. 53rd day, so we're
- 24:03almost done. So talking about 75 hard, what
- 24:06was like the easiest? What was the hardest part?
- 24:10Oh. What has it been?
- 24:12I mean, we're not done, but. Oh no, yeah, we're not done and
- 24:16I don't think we're going to be done after.
- 24:17This No, I think, well, I'm going to do 75 soft.
- 24:21I don't know about you if you want to do it with me, but.
- 24:24Yeah, most likely. I really do like the lifestyle.
- 24:27So calling a lot of the things hard was I guess I would say
- 24:32it's more inconvenient because I don't mind working out twice a
- 24:36day, quite frankly and I love walking my dog outside.
- 24:39But there are those cases like the weather, yeah.
- 24:44Oh my. Gosh, like today it.
- 24:46Rained and I was like, it was. Great.
- 24:49From what we've dealt with, it was.
- 24:50Previously it was, it was, but like sometimes I'm like, I don't
- 24:53want to take out Axel because, you know, he had a cold just
- 24:56recently and it's like it's hard and it, it like he said, it's,
- 25:00it can be inconvenient. But I have learned if I'm able
- 25:05to do 2 workouts a day, there is absolutely no reason why I
- 25:08shouldn't do one workout. About freaking time, girl.
- 25:12And honestly, I hate working out.
- 25:16That's my one thing. I feel like in the beginning,
- 25:18working out was the worst part for me because I'm just so used
- 25:22to be like, I'm going to be honest, a couch potato,
- 25:25literally. And I had a very like, I don't
- 25:28know, I forgot the words that it might mean.
- 25:32I try to say, but where you're sitting down all day at work and
- 25:38yeah, I don't know, that was just like the hardest part.
- 25:40But what was the easiest part for you?
- 25:43So the hardest part is just making sure you actually hit
- 25:47that gallon goal. Sometimes you you don't want to
- 25:52just drink water. I I don't blame you.
- 25:54Sometimes water just is so boring.
- 25:58Like I feel like it's good and then you're like forced to drink
- 26:011 gallon and you're like damn, you don't realize.
- 26:04First of all, I didn't realize how much a gallon is a day.
- 26:07And but like the maybe like the third day out was like, OK, I
- 26:12feel like this might be the reason why I don't finish
- 26:15because it made me kind of nauseous.
- 26:17But you are also making it easier.
- 26:20You're finding a little hacks like these little water bottles
- 26:23that we got here. Honestly, like there's no plug.
- 26:26I'm not going to tell the brand name, but only a couple of
- 26:30these. You already had a gallon.
- 26:31Honestly I'm already this is my last one for today.
- 26:35Yeah, well, I feel like in the beginning, like everything's so
- 26:39new. Like we did it like where it was
- 26:41like we didn't weren't like working out every day.
- 26:43It's just like we kind of jumped into it.
- 26:45So it's like now we know like hacks, you know, like I'm so
- 26:49glad that we did like the research of the diet because I
- 26:53feel like no offense, but personally I wouldn't have been
- 26:56good on like, I don't know, like a low fat diet or carb free
- 27:01diet. I just feel like that for me is
- 27:03not sustainable. Like your girl needs bread and
- 27:06like we can now have sourdough. So it's just like little hacks
- 27:10here and there. They just it changes everything
- 27:13and doing it together. Yes, yes, I would say because of
- 27:20you, I've actually found the diet being the easiest because
- 27:23you're bringing in your Cuban, Ecuadorian flavors.
- 27:26Into what also helps that I cook everything, everything,
- 27:30everything. Like, yeah, I mean, sometimes I
- 27:32help, but yeah, I just hate my cooking.
- 27:35I like yours. Yeah, I hate your cooking too.
- 27:38But anyways I make a. Good sandwich.
- 27:42Oh yes, a sandwich, Yes he does. How do you feel compared to like
- 27:48day one? We're on day 53, how do you
- 27:50feel? Day one, I was sore.
- 27:54I felt a lot of my stomach getting in the way.
- 27:58Yeah, I I feel like a lot. I mean, I feel really thinner
- 28:04and. Yeah.
- 28:07Definitely not close to the goal yet, but yeah, I I see a lot of
- 28:11results that I'm already encouraged by, so yeah.
- 28:15Nice fatherhood. What has changed?
- 28:19Yeah, I feel like this is a good topic because obviously we're
- 28:23both first time parents. I know what has changed for me
- 28:27and motherhood is basically everything, but what has changed
- 28:32for you so far? Has it changed you that much, do
- 28:34you feel like, or was it kind of in the beginning?
- 28:38Now it's like you're back to, I don't know.
- 28:43In the beginning I was really cautious just because we have
- 28:47this tiny little brittle human being that we have to carry.
- 28:51It was it. I just was walking cautiously
- 28:56everywhere, every step, like holding him like just a piece of
- 29:02China glass. Like I, I was really scared to
- 29:04hold him all the time. So I would, you know, obviously
- 29:08not do the things I would typically like to do.
- 29:11I don't like to. I mean, I like to hang out and
- 29:14do you know, I'll play video games with my buddies or go out
- 29:17and go hit the gym. But I just needed to be around
- 29:21and be present and be with him just to understand him, get to
- 29:25know him. And over the course of time, I
- 29:28mean, now it's like I'm just kind of back to my normal
- 29:31routine. Yeah, you know, sometimes it's a
- 29:35little difficult because you know, he's dealing with
- 29:37something or he's hitting a new milestone, especially with the
- 29:40teething. Oh my gosh, the teething.
- 29:43I didn't think babies at this age had this many teeths.
- 29:46Oh, and we counted. He has seven teeth.
- 29:49Not 6. 71 just popped out so. So what has been your favorite
- 29:55part? What has surprised you the most?
- 29:58What are you like excited for? I'm excited for him to start
- 30:02talking to us straight up. Yeah, I want to have a
- 30:05conversation. He does see Mama, though.
- 30:07Every time he cries. You know what that means?
- 30:10He's comfortable with me, but yeah.
- 30:12Yeah, yeah. It's really exciting just
- 30:16because you get to see this little human evolve every single
- 30:19day. He's changing all the time.
- 30:23He's just a new human, like every day.
- 30:25It's it's. Some new characters wake him up
- 30:28and I'm like, did this guy grow? He like looks more older, just
- 30:32like just something in him change overnight.
- 30:35It's crazy. You're not wrong.
- 30:37He's he just keeps growing too. He's a yeah.
- 30:40He's a also, we have a big boy. Yeah.
- 30:43He's in the 99%, yeah. But I don't know, he's got like
- 30:48a build that doesn't make him look fat, so.
- 30:51Yeah, he's. He's got roles, but he's also a
- 30:55big, big boy. And just like, so I just can't
- 30:59wait. Like he's a boy, obviously.
- 31:00So I can't wait for him to do like boy things.
- 31:03I want him to like skateboard. I want him to try all the
- 31:05sports. I just, I'm so excited that you
- 31:08get to like experience a lot of like his first with you.
- 31:13You know what I mean? Just because I feel like that's
- 31:15a father thing and that's just going to be so exciting for me
- 31:18to watch. And you guys are my boys and I
- 31:21just can't wait. And one last question cuz we get
- 31:25asked this all the time. Are we really one and done?
- 31:34Being in Southern California makes it kind of 1 and done.
- 31:37Yeah, it's just like really expensive out here.
- 31:39And it's just like realistically it's just, it's really hard.
- 31:44But I mean, it's doable. A lot of our friends do it, but.
- 31:48Yeah, I mean, it's if it happens, it happens, but I'm
- 31:55also not trying to have a second one right now.
- 31:57I'm kind of just goal oriented financially right now, trying to
- 32:01get healthy. I just want to give Axel the
- 32:03best life. Yeah, yeah.
- 32:05So build that foundation, but don't ask us anymore.
- 32:10Shut up with that. I know.
- 32:12And all right, So really quickly because it's about me, I'm just
- 32:18kidding. So what's something you
- 32:19appreciate about me? And I'll tell you.
- 32:25Oh, there's just a huge list. I don't know which one to pick
- 32:28from the top. I feel like that's such a safe
- 32:30answer. Well, no, it's, I've said it
- 32:34like probably two or three times.
- 32:35You are my best friend. Yeah, I can't.
- 32:38I don't know. I just don't like my days
- 32:40without you. Like if I'm out of town or
- 32:43you're out of town, it's just sucks.
- 32:45Just doesn't feel right and I mean your company is most
- 32:49important to me. It's because I'm so fun.
- 32:52Totally. All right, So what I appreciate
- 32:56about you the most is a, you're obviously a really good father
- 33:02because I know a lot of guys are fucking losers and they're not
- 33:06good fathers. So thank you for that #2 You're
- 33:09really loyal and you're, I feel like this makes me sound like
- 33:15kind of bad, but you're a provider and that really means a
- 33:19lot to me because I feel like that's such a hot treat to have.
- 33:23So. And of course, I love you and
- 33:24you're my best friend. Let me make sure to add that
- 33:28part. I'll be honest, I married you
- 33:30for your cooking. OK, why didn't marry you for
- 33:33your money? Because back then we didn't
- 33:35really have money. We're going to get to my
- 33:40favorite part because yeah, it's just my fucking favorite part.
- 33:44This game, it's called Hype or Not Marriage Edition.
- 33:49So basically, is it worth the hype or is it not?
- 33:53Or do you agree with it or do you not basically.
- 33:56So going to bed mad. That's such a bitch thing to do.
- 34:02I I don't get it like some people.
- 34:04We never do that. Yeah, we've done it probably 2
- 34:07times in our all the time of being brother, but no it's.
- 34:12And if not, like, we'll wake each other up like in the middle
- 34:15of the night, like, hey, like, yeah, we can we just not be mad
- 34:18at each other because that's stupid.
- 34:20Yeah. And then we'll talk about it in
- 34:21the morning. But I just feel like that's so
- 34:24lame to do. Go to bed mad.
- 34:25Like I mean, there was one time he did go to bed mad because we
- 34:30into Fridays and they sing you happy birthday.
- 34:36I'm telling you, he is the shyest guy.
- 34:38He's turning. Dude, the fact that it wasn't my
- 34:43birthday and we were in a crazy argument that.
- 34:47We argued with one of our. Friends at Fridays and they all
- 34:51just collectively thought it was great to just, yeah, let's get
- 34:55ice. Cream for free and just.
- 34:57Put the birthday celebration on Randy.
- 34:59Yeah. That wasn't one time though.
- 35:01You went to bed and you're like I'm mad and then turned your
- 35:07anyways I cracked myself up. So sharing locations.
- 35:14I mean, what's, what's the harm in that?
- 35:16I don't care. It's.
- 35:17We do it. So I know a lot of couples don't
- 35:20do it. I don't.
- 35:21I mean, I just feel like we do it for our safety.
- 35:24What if like, I get kidnapped or something?
- 35:26Yeah. Or like what if I'm like?
- 35:29If you're with Axel. Yeah, yeah.
- 35:31But like I used to like check his location, like when I said
- 35:34like I would do the dishes or something or clean the house and
- 35:37I saw him on his way home and I would just do them really quick.
- 35:42This is shocker. It wasn't like ever like trying
- 35:46to see like, where is he? Where is he?
- 35:48But all right, separate bank accounts.
- 35:55That's a good one because we have.
- 35:59We have. Some I honestly don't care.
- 36:01Because your girl is a spender. I spend a lot.
- 36:05You should see how many Amazon boxes come here today.
- 36:08Oh my gosh. One thing I don't know.
- 36:10Like I feel like we used to do this a lot but we don't do it
- 36:12anymore. OK.
- 36:14When like couples Venmo or Zell each other back for every little
- 36:18thing like oh I had a coffee, you paid for it.
- 36:20Let me zell you or something back.
- 36:23Unless it's like a big spend, like, yeah, I know that you
- 36:25spent like quite a bit on groceries and yeah, I'm gonna,
- 36:30I'm gonna chip in. That's yeah, that sucks.
- 36:32But like. Getting each other back for
- 36:34coffee or stuff like that. I feel like that's lame.
- 36:36Sorry if you I mean. Yeah, I don't.
- 36:39I don't expect to be reciprocated.
- 36:42So if you're a guy expecting it to be returned all the time,
- 36:46then you're kind of a bitch. OK, well, all right.
- 36:50The same. And OK this is the last 1 I
- 36:54actually have two more. So liking other girls photos or
- 36:59me liking other guys photos? Well, I don't care what you
- 37:02like, that's really. Usually like actors and stuff
- 37:06like that. I know I'm like.
- 37:08I'm a big TV fan, big movie fan, big reality fan, like, but I
- 37:16don't really like like people that we know their photos.
- 37:20I'll like, I'll like, like our friends, you know, our mutual
- 37:23friends photos. But if it's like a thirst trap,
- 37:26obviously I ain't going to fucking like it.
- 37:28So it's no offense, I support you, but hey, I'm not liking it
- 37:33because you're getting into that shit.
- 37:34Show no. OK, all right, So what about
- 37:40having a working wife? As you guys know, I'm trying to
- 37:44be a stay at home mom. So you know, I'm just planting
- 37:48the seed. Planting the seed.
- 37:53Don't you want to make me a stay at home mom?
- 37:56I. Want to be a stay at home dad?
- 37:57What are you talking about? When is this going to blow up?
- 38:01True. So subscribe, like and comment
- 38:04and share. But anyway, so this just brings
- 38:07us basically to the end. Randy, you have survived an
- 38:11episode of Mom Gone Mild. Congratulations.
- 38:14You can now go back to being a producer editor.
- 38:20But it wasn't that bad, was it? No, not at all.
- 38:24This was pretty easy and yeah, you made it comfortable as your
- 38:27guest typically said so. Yes, that is my number one, kind
- 38:32of like I guess. Oh my God, it's a trait.
- 38:35Is that a trait or a compliment or whatever the hell it's called
- 38:39is? So we went from, you know, being
- 38:41friends to being like, you know, in a relationship to getting
- 38:47married to having Axel. And I just can't wait to see
- 38:51what the feature holds for us. And I'm just excited and I love
- 38:55you and I appreciate you being here.
- 38:58You are doing awesome with this show by the way.
- 39:01I'm so, so proud. To me and my 50 subscribers.
- 39:05I'm so proud of you. I love you.
- 39:07You're doing a great job. All right, last question, when
- 39:11are you to make me a stay at home mom?
- 39:12No, I'm just kidding. But but I love you and thank you
- 39:17so much. And yeah, so this has been mom
- 39:20gone mild and you guys please, please, please subscribe, like,
- 39:25comment, go back, binge episodes.
- 39:28One, I think I'm at 20 or something like that.
- 39:31I don't really remember. Listen to episode 2 because that
- 39:34one I want as a video that is. Oh my gosh, I.
- 39:37Know still my favorite story. Like I could actually see that
- 39:41as an animation. I know, like I feel like I have
- 39:44to rerecord that somehow because that was like my favorite
- 39:47episode. I say it a lot.
- 39:48Like it was my favorite episode, but that was just so crazy
- 39:52because I did start this as Mom Gone Mild because I used to be
- 39:55wild. So if you guys want to hear some
- 39:57crazy stories, go back to like early episodes.
- 40:01But yeah, thank you so much for being here and love you.
- 40:07Alright guys, that was Mom Gone Mild and.
- 40:11Actually, this one, I think I'm going to title it Mom and Dad
- 40:14gone mild. So I had so much fun with my
- 40:16husband and I'm so thankful that he wanted to come on or he let
- 40:22me force him to come on, whichever one anyways, so please
- 40:26go back and watch all my previous episodes and have an
- 40:31amazing week and follow me on Instagram at Mom Gone Mild under
- 40:36score podcast. Love you guys and thank you.
