- 0:05Welcome to The Hypnotist, the show that gives you inside
- 0:09access to cutting edge hypnosis with real clients facing
- 0:12genuine. Issues.
- 0:13Brought to you by The Hypnotherapist, demanded by
- 0:16celebrities CE OS and even royalty Adam Cox, these
- 0:21recordings took place live from Evans Clinic in London's world
- 0:24famous Harley Street. So get yourself comfortable and
- 0:31enjoy today's episode of The Hypnotist.
- 0:39Hi, it's Adam here and you're about to listen to a specific
- 0:44hypnosis session all about healing from trauma.
- 0:48And I was working with a client that had very extreme and
- 0:53traumatic moments of their past that included things like
- 0:58violence and suicide and very extreme things.
- 1:02And, and then nature was to be very much an empath, very much a
- 1:07caring, sensitive soul. And because they'd experienced
- 1:10these very traumatic things and they had this very caring
- 1:14nature, that nature was to try and protect other people from
- 1:18similar types of pain. But it meant that they were
- 1:22hyper vigilant, on edge, almost coping with their past by
- 1:27overcompensating. So they would do things like
- 1:30check things quite often, like if their doors are locked or if
- 1:33they've left the stove on and other things as well.
- 1:37And that was because they felt unsafe and doing these things
- 1:40made them feel safe, albeit for a very temporary period of time.
- 1:45So this hypnosis session is not about making the.
- 1:48World any safer? Like no one individual is going
- 1:51to do that, but it is about feeling safe and some people are
- 1:56able to feel safe in a dangerous situation.
- 2:00If you think of a Marine going into a battle, you know they
- 2:04might. Feel safe.
- 2:05Because they're evaluating that their resources are more than
- 2:09the demands. So they might just have this
- 2:11sense of certainty linked to their training or their previous
- 2:17experience. So it's possible to feel safe in
- 2:20an unsafe environment. A lot of journalists might find
- 2:23themselves in war zones and yet, you know, they don't necessarily
- 2:27feel as unsafe as maybe they should based on being in that
- 2:32situation. And yet it's also possible, and
- 2:35I've worked with lots of people that you know, can feel unsafe
- 2:38in their own home even though they're in a safe neighborhood.
- 2:41And they've got. Security and they've got locked
- 2:44doors and windows and they still feel unsafe.
- 2:47So this is really about feeling safe and also reframing trauma
- 2:53into resilience. And there's a few things here. 1
- 2:58is a metaphor. Of trees.
- 3:01Weathering Storms. But there's a really creative
- 3:03one that almost kind of takes. There's a couple of fairy tales,
- 3:07for example, that have a spinning wheel.
- 3:08I think Sleeping Boot Beauty is 1 or Snow White, and the other
- 3:13is Rumpelstiltskin, and they have this spinning wheel that
- 3:16can turn straw into gold. So that becomes a metaphor of
- 3:21turning past experience into very valuable future
- 3:25experiences. And there's a wonderful reframe
- 3:28in there. So if you have got symptoms of
- 3:30PTSD or your traumatic past is still haunting you to this day,
- 3:35you might get some value out of this session.
- 3:38Just be aware though, it was a very specific client that I was
- 3:41working with. And some.
- 3:43Of the suggestions that were empowering for them, like going
- 3:46back to a time when they were learning yoga in India or
- 3:50sleeping in a grandmother's bed that felt safe for them.
- 3:53That might not be your experience, It's unlikely to be
- 3:55your experience. So just hone into the
- 3:57suggestions that feel useful and relevant.
- 4:00Disregard anything that doesn't. And if you do like the idea of
- 4:04working with me directly there. Will be a.
- 4:07Link in the description where you book a completely free
- 4:09consultation call. We'll have a chat.
- 4:12Over Zoom. And if you.
- 4:14Like, you know what I have to say and and how I explain my
- 4:17process. Maybe we end up working
- 4:19together. For now, though, make yourself
- 4:21comfortable, particularly in a place where you're not going to
- 4:24be interrupted or disturbed and. See if you.
- 4:27Can either enjoy or get some value from this particular
- 4:31hypnosis session. And relax.
- 4:54Take a deep breath in, and as you breathe in, breathe in that
- 5:03slow, long, relaxing breath. And as you exhale, feel that
- 5:13wonderful sense of release as tension, stress, and worries are
- 5:24given permission to be released. And as you breathe in, breathe
- 5:31in deeper than you normally would.
- 5:34And as you exhale, just allow all the muscles around your eyes
- 5:39and eyelids to just let go, feeling that wonderful feeling
- 5:50every time you exhale of releasing tension.
- 6:00And I want you to imagine. Imagine your nervous system can
- 6:09sometimes feel calm and relaxed and sometimes feel on guard and
- 6:18overactive. And I want you to imagine almost
- 6:25like a security guard on duty. I don't want you to imagine your
- 6:34nervous system has been on guard for too long.
- 6:42And sometimes, sometimes your body can act as if you're in a
- 6:51time or a place that was your past and not your present.
- 6:59So as you breathe in that feeling of resourceful
- 7:02relaxation, give permission to that vigilant God to relax, to
- 7:15rest, that here right now they're not needed.
- 7:24In fact, they are only needed if you are in any direct physical
- 7:31danger, then you want them to return.
- 7:37But I want you to imagine a security guard that is, instead
- 7:41of doing a 12 hour shift, works non-stop for a week.
- 7:48Then if there was any danger, they're too tired to do anything
- 7:52about it. And on that basis, allow that
- 7:57part of your mind to be given permission to rest and in doing
- 8:05so, feel a release, perhaps an emotional release or a physical
- 8:15release that now you can let go. And I want you to think of a
- 8:24colour that represents pure resourcefulness, strong,
- 8:35powerful, empowered resourcefulness.
- 8:39And imagine breathing in that colour, and imagine it going
- 8:46into your lungs, into your heart, being distributed to
- 8:50every cell in your body. But as you breathe out, imagine
- 8:56you're releasing any emotion connected to any chaotic events
- 9:05of the past. Maybe imagine some grey or dark
- 9:10colour and as you exhale, feel it leaving your body as you
- 9:18breathe in that distilled resourcefulness and exhale any
- 9:29of those suppressed or pent up emotions of the past.
- 9:32Just allow them to leave. And in doing so, the deeper that
- 9:40you breathe, the more relaxed you become.
- 9:44And the more relaxed you become, the deeper you breathe.
- 9:49And as your physical body relaxes, your imagination
- 9:55awakens. And I want you to imagine that
- 9:59your physical body stays where it is, but your imagination
- 10:04floats all the way back to a particular place where you were
- 10:13training yoga. Imagine going back through space
- 10:22and time. And maybe imagine walking up to
- 10:27a particular building and maybe maybe there's certain clues,
- 10:36humidity or warmth in the air. Maybe it's the sound of St.
- 10:44vendors or cows. Maybe it's just the ambience,
- 10:52the energy. But imagine walking into that
- 10:57building and I want you to see a guru, someone perhaps you
- 11:06haven't seen in a long time. I don't want you to feel a
- 11:13connection like a thread between your heart and theirs and just
- 11:20connect with them. I don't want you to feel perhaps
- 11:28a similar way to how you felt back then, where this was the
- 11:34perfect place to give new meanings to old events, to
- 11:42figure out who you really are, and to let go of the past
- 11:47without forgetting it. To extract the wisdom but let go
- 11:53of the baggage. And then imagine perhaps going
- 11:59upstairs and I want you to see a younger version of you already
- 12:06there, doing a particular pose, maybe a headstand.
- 12:16Maybe you see you on your shoulders.
- 12:21But I want you to see someone powerful, strong, resourceful,
- 12:26aligned, energized. And when you can see that
- 12:33younger version of you feeling that way, I want you to step
- 12:39into that version and you feel how they feel and perhaps
- 12:45imagine the world upside down, but maybe hearing sounds like
- 12:53the sound of bells ringing, the smell of incense.
- 13:00I want you to get a feeling of how connected with yourself you
- 13:04feel. And just allow yourself to feel
- 13:12that way. And then imagine going off into
- 13:14a dream, like sleep back perhaps to a house from your childhood,
- 13:26maybe a grandmother's house. And I want you to notice how
- 13:33orderly structured, how clean and organized.
- 13:40And I want you to get a sense of the routines and predictability.
- 13:46And I want you to go to one of the rooms and see that younger
- 13:54version of you there. And I want you to tell that
- 14:01younger version of you that whatever has happened was not
- 14:05their fault, whatever will happen is not their fault.
- 14:15That they are kind hearted, generous, and they should
- 14:21embrace the empathy. We need to give that younger
- 14:26version of you a hug. Tell them they're loved, they're
- 14:30worthy. But most of all, tell them that
- 14:33they are safe. They are not safe because the
- 14:37world is safe. They are safe because of how
- 14:41discerning and resourceful they are and can be and will be more
- 14:47so. And then imagine climbing into a
- 14:54bed, perhaps used to sleep there, noticing the clean linen,
- 15:01everything organized and tidy. And as I count from 5:00 to
- 15:101:00, I want you to imagine what it would feel like to drift off
- 15:15into a dream like sleep. 5 Eyelids getting heavier. 4
- 15:23Releasing any tension around the neck and the shoulders.
- 15:28Three arms and legs just limp, loose and heavy.
- 15:33Then two. As you breathe, your lungs
- 15:36relax, stomach relaxes, even your intestines all relax.
- 15:42And then one, fill a ripple of relaxation from your toes to the
- 15:47top of your head, down your face, all the way to the tips of
- 15:52your fingers. And just notice there, in that
- 15:59dreamlike sleep, how easy it is to breathe in and breathe out
- 16:06slowly, predictably and safely, still breathing in that colour
- 16:14of distilled resourcefulness. That's it.
- 16:21Deeper and deeper. Relaxed.
- 16:32You to feel with each breath in you feel strength and
- 16:37empowerment entering you. And with each breath out, feel
- 16:42any heavy emotions, old burdens just drifting away, inhaling
- 16:50that golden light of colour and exhaling any heaviness.
- 16:58Inhaling calm, exhaling tension. And with each breath, your
- 17:06nervous system calms, steadies and resets.
- 17:15And as your body softens into this rhythm, I want you to
- 17:20imagine a warm golden light wrapping around you like a cozy
- 17:28blanket. It's like a shawl placed
- 17:32lovingly on your shoulders or wrapping around you in that bed.
- 17:38And this light is safety. This light is calm, and this
- 17:46light is protection. And with every inhale, that
- 17:54golden light flows deeper inside, calming your heart,
- 17:59steadying your breath, and relaxing your muscles.
- 18:04You are safe here, you are supported here, and you are
- 18:11strong. And when you feel that strength,
- 18:18it occurs to you. The strongest trees are not the
- 18:23ones that never face storms. The strongest trees are those
- 18:31that have survived wind, lightning, rain and still stand
- 18:38tall and every harsh season deepened their roots, widened
- 18:46their trunk, and made them unshakeable.
- 18:52And just like those trees, you are stronger than ever before
- 19:01because you have lived through storms and you've seen darkness.
- 19:07And yet here you are, still standing, still breathing, and
- 19:16still capable of peace, compassion, and strength.
- 19:24Your past gave you every reason to be angry, every reason to be
- 19:33dismissive, uncaring, and it didn't do that.
- 19:38And you are the proof that resilience is real, that
- 19:46sensitivity is not a weakness, it's a superpower.
- 19:54Empathy is not fragility. It is a different kind of
- 19:59strength, strength of the heart. And with this strength, you can
- 20:08calm your body, calm your mind, and feel safe in the world
- 20:15again. But I want your mind to take you
- 20:21back. You were seen in a fairy tale,
- 20:27but you are selective, choosing only the bit of the fairy tale
- 20:33that is relevant and useful for you.
- 20:38I almost imagine that you're stepping into a an old
- 20:42children's book and seeing a fairy tale spinning wheel in
- 20:47front of you and beside it bundles of straw.
- 20:58And you know intuitively that each bundle represents the
- 21:04experiences of your past, some painful, some heavy, and some
- 21:14confusing. And as you sit before the
- 21:21spinning wheel, you place each straw, 1 by 1, into the rhythm.
- 21:33With each turn of the wheel, something magical happens.
- 21:38The straw transforms into shining, luminous gold.
- 21:47The straw was your past, and the spinning wheel is the meaning
- 21:53you choose to give it, and the gold that is your present and
- 22:00your future. Something precious, something
- 22:06valuable and something beautiful.
- 22:13All that you've endured, all that you've.
- 22:16Experienced. Is raw material.
- 22:22With the wisdom and empathy you carry now, you can transform it
- 22:28into gold, peace, strength, clarity and safety.
- 22:39And as you look at all of that gold, perhaps in threads for
- 22:48some of the form you accept, it is your future.
- 22:55As you stare into the threads of gold, imagine now seeing
- 23:04yourself in the days and weeks ahead.
- 23:10But something's changed. This alchemy has harvested the
- 23:19value of the past to create something beautiful and valuable
- 23:25in your future. And you see yourself relaxed,
- 23:30safe, and calm. See yourself interacting with
- 23:37the world with discernment, trusting your intuition, yet
- 23:44feeling secure within yourself. Observe how you carry yourself
- 23:50with a quiet strength, a deep peace, and a radiant calmness
- 23:57that others can feel. And you can't help but conclude
- 24:04that you are more than what has happened and you are more than
- 24:13the meaning you give it. And that meaning itself is
- 24:19golden. But the real value is choosing
- 24:28to enjoy the gold. I want you to get a sense that
- 24:34you could always choose to focus on the straw, dwell on the past,
- 24:43and act like the past will be your future.
- 24:47Or you could have that positive optimism that the future is full
- 24:59of wonderful probabilities. And what if, because you had
- 25:07more than your fair share of undesirable probabilities in the
- 25:12past, it's only just and fair that you have more than your
- 25:18fair share of wonderful experiences in your future?
- 25:24And as you stare into the gold, you feel that that's exactly
- 25:30what's going to happen? I want you to imagine leaving
- 25:37that fairy tale room with a spinning wheel, but take a bit
- 25:43of that gold with you. And then imagine awakening from
- 25:50that childhood bed but still holding that golden blanket
- 25:58around you, feeling safe. And then imagine floating all
- 26:05the way back to that yoga room, feeling strong and powerful and
- 26:12healthy and full of vitality. And take that with you too, as
- 26:19you now return to your present, but taking all of these
- 26:24resources with you and feeling that you can let go of the past
- 26:31and just retain the wisdom. Very soon I will count from 1:00
- 26:36to 10:00 to awaken you, and you will awaken feeling resourceful.
- 26:44And any echoes of the past, any triggers or trauma is an
- 26:51opportunity to spin that wheel and give that empowering golden
- 26:57new meaning to what was and what will be.
- 27:03So take a deep breath in through your nose and out through your
- 27:08nose. Just wiggle your fingers and
- 27:11wiggle your toes. Connect and calibrate into the
- 27:13here and the now as I now count from 1:00 to 10:00 to awaken
- 27:20you. Starting to count. 123 waking
- 27:24up, 456 more alert. 7-8 open. Your eyes.
- 27:30Open your eyes. 910 Wide awake. Wide awake.
- 27:36Wide awake. Thank you so much for joining me

- 28:06could spend 10 seconds. To share this episode with.
