Transcript
- 0:01As I was getting ready for tonight's live on our Friday
- 0:06night recap, I was checking the news on stories that we have
- 0:12been following and sure enough, there is an update as of about
- 0:16an hour ago in the Melody Buzzard case.
- 0:19We're going to start with that tonight and then we're going to
- 0:22hop into all the other stuff. Stick with us.
- 0:37This video contains mature themes and discussions intended
- 0:40only for adult audiences. Viewer discretion is advised.
- 0:46All righty guys, you know what today is?
- 0:48Today is November 7th. I love November 7th.
- 0:51November 7th is one of my favorite days of the year
- 0:54because it is the day that my friend, I've told you guys this
- 0:59story so many times. It was so important to me in my
- 1:02life when I was 1414 years old. Is that right?
- 1:1215 years old. January of 1990, I just turned
- 1:1914 years old. That's right.
- 1:23Anyway, when I was 14 years old, my best friend Danny died.
- 1:27Today is his birthday and he would be 50 today.
- 1:32And I've spent the whole day thinking about him and it's been
- 1:36a beautiful day. Going down memory lane of those
- 1:40few years. We we met when we were 12.
- 1:43It was just, it was just a couple years.
- 1:45Well, no, we were eleven couple years that we were thick as
- 1:50thieves and before he passed away.
- 1:52Anyway, it's been a terrific day, Terrific, terrific day.
- 1:55And I hope it's been a good one for you where you are as well.
- 2:00And also check in with me and tell me where you're from.
- 2:02Looks like we've we've already got North Carolina in the house.
- 2:05Let me see if this is working here.
- 2:08Yep, North Carolina in the house.
- 2:10Let's see where the rest of y'all are from while I dig in
- 2:16first, let's see story of the day.
- 2:22Let's bring it on over here, shall we?
- 2:25This from CNN and this was just published about an hour ago.
- 2:30Mother of missing California girl Melody Buzzard, arrested on
- 2:34charge, unrelated to daughter's disappearance, which is
- 2:38interesting, very interesting. I don't think it's unrelated.
- 2:43I think the relation is that they wanted her behind bars and
- 2:49look, they told us that little Melody was wearing a wig.
- 2:55They believe that she was wearing a wig in the rental car
- 2:58place. That looks like Enterprise to
- 3:00me. Not sure.
- 3:05But anyway, it looks to me like Ashley Buzzard is also wearing a
- 3:10wig that day. This says this is a screenshot
- 3:15from a video released by the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's
- 3:17Office showing Melody Buzzard and Ashley Buzzard in a
- 3:20surveillance video. The mother of nine year old
- 3:23California girl who vanished during their road trip last
- 3:25month was arrested Friday. OIDIA today on a felony charge
- 3:31of false imprisonment, but it's not directly related to the
- 3:34search for her daughter. Officials said investigators
- 3:38were looking into the disappearance of Ashley
- 3:40Buzzard's daughter Melody when they learned the mother had
- 3:44recently prevented A victim from leaving a location against their
- 3:48will. The Santa Barbara County
- 3:50Sheriff's Office said in a news release.
- 3:52Let's actually let's go to that release.
- 3:57Let's just go to the release and and read it.
- 3:59Here we go. Lompoc, CA sheriff's detectives
- 4:03have arrested 40 year old Ashley Buzzard.
- 4:05Let me see if I can zoom in on that just a little bit more for
- 4:08you guys to see. On charges unrelated to the
- 4:11ongoing search for her missing 9 year old daughter, Melody
- 4:14Buzzard, detectives learned in a recent incident where Ashley
- 4:17prevented A victim from leaving a location against their will,
- 4:22which constitutes false imprisonment.
- 4:25This crime is not connected to the ongoing search for Melody.
- 4:28However, detectives are unable to fully outline the crime as it
- 4:32would impede their ongoing investigation.
- 4:35Ah, there is a connection. Hold on.
- 4:41Let's read between the lines here.
- 4:43OK? This crime is not connected to
- 4:46the ongoing search for Melody. However, detectives are unable
- 4:50to fully outline the crime as it would impede their ongoing
- 4:53investigation. That that implies a connection.
- 4:58Am I? I don't think I'm wrong here.
- 5:00I don't think I'm wrong here. OK On Friday, November 7th,
- 5:062025, OIDIA detectives arrested Ashley on a warrant for a felony
- 5:12charge of false imprisonment. She will be booked at the
- 5:16Northern Branch Jail with bail set at $100,000.
- 5:20Her booking photo does not meet the criteria for public release
- 5:24and will not be distributed. OK.
- 5:28Although this arrest occurred during the course of a missing
- 5:30person investigation, it is not directly related.
- 5:35That's a good qualifier, right? They're not directly related,
- 5:40tangentially related, sort of related, coincidentally or
- 5:47circumstantially related maybe to Melody's disappearance.
- 5:51Sheriff's detectives remain fully focused on locating Melody
- 5:55and confirming her safety. Members of the public who have
- 5:59seen Melody or may have information about her
- 6:02whereabouts are urged to contact the Sheriff's Office through any
- 6:06of the following methods. Detectives are at 805-681-4150.
- 6:13The anonymous tip line is at 805-681-4171.
- 6:18Oh, Gavin. Wow.
- 6:20Low energy today, guys. It's been a long day.
- 6:24It's been a good day though. Good day.
- 6:27Online tips can be sent through sbsheriff.org.
- 6:31Whack home, whack anonymous dash tip.
- 6:35And that is the actual release. But let's see what, Let's see if
- 6:44there's any. Investigators shed little light
- 6:46on the recent incident, declined to provide details on the victim
- 6:50of the false imprisonment cases. They continue to investigate
- 6:52Melody's whereabouts. That's typical.
- 6:54They're not going to tell us who the victim is.
- 6:57The arrest comes about a week after the FBI served search
- 7:01warrants at Buzzard's home and a storage locker, as well as the
- 7:05rental car that Melody was last seen in.
- 7:09I, I think, did I miss that? Let's go back and read this.
- 7:17This is from the 30th. Hang on a second.
- 7:20Let's let's bring up, let me just bring up this photo real
- 7:25quick while I, while I take a look at something real quick.
- 7:31So when we talked about Melody, that was on the 27th.
- 7:35OK, so this we haven't, we haven't covered this on the
- 7:38channel. Let's let's go back over here.
- 7:42OK, so this was October 30th. Sheriff's detectives are sharing
- 7:46an update on their investigation into missing at risk 9 year old
- 7:49Melody Buzzard on Thursday the 30th of October.
- 7:52Sheriff's detectives along. Man, it's every time I take a
- 7:57deep breath. Goodness.
- 8:00Sheriff's detectives, along with the FBI, served follow up search
- 8:03warrants at the home of Ashley and Melody Buzzard on the 500
- 8:07block of Mars Ave., as well as a storage locker and the rental
- 8:11car that Melody was last seen in.
- 8:13In anticipation of the need for access to the residents during
- 8:16the search for an extended time, detectives escorted Ashley to an
- 8:21alternate location that would not interfere with their ability
- 8:24to conduct a thorough search. This case remains a missing
- 8:27person investigation. There have been no arrests made
- 8:29in the case. Quote, we appreciate the FBI's
- 8:32assistance in today's searches, said Sheriff's Lieutenant Chris
- 8:36Gotchall from the Criminal Investigation Division.
- 8:38He added, in cases like this, every detail matters, and it is
- 8:42invaluable to have additional resources and specialized
- 8:45expertise. Collaboration with our federal
- 8:48partners allows us to ensure that we're using every tool
- 8:52available to help bring resolution to the case.
- 8:56OK, yeah. The search for Melody has
- 9:01captured national attention as investigators shared
- 9:03surveillance images of the child.
- 9:05And I think like, yeah, these these were the images that
- 9:10originally came out. They just showed melody.
- 9:13In fact, some of us were like, is that Melody or is that
- 9:17Ashley? Right.
- 9:19Let me finish this. At the car rental agency began
- 9:23scrutinizing the Cross State road trip and described her
- 9:25mother as being uncooperative. And of course, we now have these
- 9:29photos bringing you back over here where we can see that that
- 9:33is a little melody right there. And this is Ashley Buzzard at
- 9:39the Enterprise counter. Let's see is there.
- 9:43There's one other photo right here, which looks like it's a
- 9:46screen grab from just prior to like this photo, I think.
- 9:54Yeah, just prior to that. In fact, her hands are still on
- 9:57her purse. So that's what we got.
- 10:00Now, what does this mean? I mean, will Ashley Buzzard be
- 10:05able to get a $100,000 bond or make a $100,000 bail?
- 10:12That that I think that's a, that's a good question.
- 10:17Let's see what you guys are saying.
- 10:19Let's bring up, let's bring up little Melody while we talk.
- 10:26Let's see. All right, First off, let's go
- 10:33so kind of y'all to say happy birthday to Danny.
- 10:38That's awfully sweetie, you guys.
- 10:39Thank you very much Let's see now where you guys are from.
- 10:45We got another happy birthday. We've got Seal Beach See, I like
- 10:50I love Seal Beach, North Carolina, Western Mass, Wales.
- 10:55You know, I once had a business trip in Bristol and they because
- 11:01of fog, they diverted our plane to Cardiff.
- 11:08That made me so happy because I got to spend the day in Cardiff,
- 11:12just just downtown Cardiff. I had like lunch or whatever
- 11:17before I, I think I, I think I took a bus over to Bristol.
- 11:22Anyway, every time I, I went back to Bristol from then on
- 11:26out, I would go over to Cardiff and spend a little time in
- 11:29Wales. So welcome Jess Rolls, Kentucky,
- 11:32Illinois, Jacksonville, FL, Western New York, Lake Tahoe,
- 11:36California. Those are that's those are my
- 11:38stomping grounds right there. That that is, I grew up in the
- 11:42Sacramento area. Lake Tahoe is where we would go
- 11:45to play. That's where we'd go to like the
- 11:48cabin and all that fun stuff, right?
- 11:50That's good stuff. Another North Carolina, Seattle,
- 11:54Houston, Colorado, Washington State, Greetings from the
- 11:59Canadian prairies, more Western New York, Colona, British
- 12:03Columbia, Daytona Beach, Nevada. Also also stomping grounds of
- 12:08the fish family. We lived in Reno for a while,
- 12:12live in Missouri, but in Michigan right now.
- 12:14North Carolina, Alabama, or as my Alabama and friend here in
- 12:19Pennsylvania calls it, Alabama, Chickamauga, GA, Florida, holy
- 12:25cow, Saskatchewan, we got so many people.
- 12:28Happy birthday to Danny, got Michigan again, more Texas,
- 12:31Tupelo, so cool. Hand of Ike says my best friend
- 12:37from school died 2 1/2 years ago.
- 12:38Thankfully I still have fantastic memories.
- 12:40Richard was a star. I sure he was.
- 12:44I as you know, I've lost a couple of high school buddies
- 12:47too, and it's been kind of tough.
- 12:49Anyway, here we go. Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio, Erie,
- 12:52PA, Western PA in the house, Northwestern PA, Saskatchewan,
- 12:56Kentucky. Holy cow, we OK, awesome.
- 13:00Chicago. And we got a first timer from
- 13:02Chicago. Pretty awesome.
- 13:05OK, let's see what you guys are saying about Melody's mom,
- 13:08Ashley. I think they're trying to hold
- 13:11her until they can build a strong case where Melody is.
- 13:14Yeah, I, I think you're right. I think that any opportunity
- 13:18that they had to arrest Ashley Buzzard, they took that
- 13:22opportunity. The question is, will she make
- 13:26bail and what will be the conditions of of bail?
- 13:30Does she have to wear an ankle monitor, for example?
- 13:37We got more Chicago, Bangor, ME, Ontario, Toronto specifically.
- 13:46Maybe holding Melody against their will beforehand.
- 13:49No, it was something different. They said, Kel, and I'm sure you
- 13:52said that before we before we got into it.
- 13:57Shay says. I'm just so mixed up a tree fell
- 14:00on my house. But thank you for all of your
- 14:04hard work. House is OK.
- 14:05I'm OK. Well, I am glad, Shay.
- 14:07Holy cow, Philly, PA, you're in the house.
- 14:10Awesome boombox, Benny Gavin, you probably need some more
- 14:15calories, dude. Yesterday was a 2000 calorie day
- 14:20and today was a higher calorie count as well.
- 14:25We're changing things up. Don't worry.
- 14:27I'm not doing like these 500 calorie days, 800 calorie days
- 14:32that I'm doing the occasional 1000 calorie day still.
- 14:35But, yeah, I am getting more calories in me, and I'm almost
- 14:38halfway to my goal. By the way, today's just been a
- 14:43really tiring day. Maybe maybe we need to move my
- 14:46live streams a couple hours forward.
- 14:49I don't know. Maybe.
- 14:53Melissa says. I wonder if they found something
- 14:55in that search that prompted this arrest.
- 14:58Yeah, I mean, that is, that is entirely possible.
- 15:01Let's bring Melody back up. Oh, my goodness.
- 15:03Look at that little child. There just aren't that many
- 15:07pictures of her. Look at how beautiful.
- 15:12Oh my goodness, so adorable. I love little girls.
- 15:16You know, when we were expecting our first child, I, I was just
- 15:19talking about this with somebody at church on Sunday because they
- 15:22are expecting their first child. They're expecting a girl.
- 15:25When we are expecting our first, everybody would ask me, do you
- 15:30want a boy or a girl? Of course every guy wants a guy,
- 15:32a boy, right? But nay, I wanted a girl, the
- 15:38oldest sibling in my family, the oldest of my siblings is a girl.
- 15:43She is the best. She is the best.
- 15:47Great way to start a family. My snuggly, my one and only
- 15:50Kimberly is the oldest of nine. Great way to start a family.
- 15:54So I was just like I was hoping. I wasn't telling anybody I was I
- 15:57was telling them, oh, I'll just, we'll just be happy with a
- 16:00healthy child. But I was wanting a daughter and
- 16:03sure enough got my wish. And then this is the latest
- 16:07photo that we have of Melody that I have anyway, other than
- 16:10the screen grabs the. But this is like 2 years old.
- 16:13So, yeah, maybe Melissa, maybe they found something they're
- 16:16like, can't get an arrest on this.
- 16:19It certainly is certainly is building our case.
- 16:23But let's see if we can find some reason to arrest her.
- 16:27Yeah. Patty says sorry for my loss as
- 16:31a 14 year old. Glad your day went well.
- 16:33Thank you. It was Danny's death was a loss
- 16:38for so many of us, including his four brothers and sisters, his
- 16:43parents, his nurses, his friends.
- 16:49And you know, when I was talking with my buddy Candy V on Quantum
- 16:54Mixtape, he was asking me, I can't remember the prompt, but
- 16:58but we were talking about dreams.
- 17:03And I don't think a week has gone by in 35 years that I have
- 17:11not dreamt of Danny and it, and it's been different because he's
- 17:17been different through time. Like I can recognize that it's
- 17:23Danny, but he's my age when I see him, very seldomly do I
- 17:28dream of back when we were 11/12/13, fourteen years old.
- 17:33Sometimes I do, but most of the times it's like conversations
- 17:37with Danny and and we and he is growing in age along with me,
- 17:47but I always recognize him, right?
- 17:49It's it's been that that's been a blessing.
- 17:54That has been a real blessing. Let's see what else.
- 17:59Got some Arkansas, we got some Tampa.
- 18:02Got some Minnesota, Kentucky, Texas, another Texas, Delaware,
- 18:07Toronto. Holy cow, we got so many people.
- 18:10Saint George, St. George, UT on a mission in New
- 18:15York City. Awesome.
- 18:17Awesome. My dad is from southern Utah.
- 18:22He was born in. Oh, dude, I'm just.
- 18:25I just blanked. All I can think now is Carson
- 18:29City. That is Nevada.
- 18:30It is not. I'm totally blinking.
- 18:33But he grew up in Tokerville and then Saint George, then when he
- 18:37was 14, moved to northern Utah. Pretty cool.
- 18:40OK. Gina Rae Gavin.
- 18:43I hope this doesn't turn out like baby Gabrielle.
- 18:45His mother, Elizabeth Johnson, spent years in prison, and she
- 18:49has never said where baby Gabrielle is to this day.
- 18:51Yeah, Well, and we're going to talk a little bit about Emmanuel
- 18:56Harrow, right? This is 1 where we still don't
- 19:01know where he is. So, yeah, I I hope so, too, Kel
- 19:10says. Well done.
- 19:10That's impressive commitment to your diet.
- 19:12I wish I had that discipline, but I love chocolate too much.
- 19:14Chocolate is a glorious thing. It is true.
- 19:21Was Melody, Melody's mother running from her ex
- 19:25relationship? I don't know.
- 19:29I don't know. Let's see Cooler by the lake now
- 19:36that she has been arrested. The speedy trial clock is
- 19:38ticking. I hope they found something
- 19:40substantial. Great comments, everybody.
- 19:43Great, great, great comments. Thank you very much.
- 19:46OK, I've got my notes of all the cases that we're going to talk
- 19:50about today right here there. I'm sure you guys really enjoyed
- 19:56that. Ah, OK.
- 20:00We're going to move over to the case of Judge Kevin Mullins.
- 20:05As you guys know, last night we had Elizabeth Jones on and it
- 20:10was more kind of a tea spilling segment with with Elizabeth.
- 20:18Lots of stuff going on down there in Letcher County.
- 20:20It's a small community. People have all sorts of
- 20:25feelings. But as you know, Mickey Stein's
- 20:30daughter Lila has taken to TikTok.
- 20:35And this is maybe a little bit, I wouldn't call it the source,
- 20:41but it has maybe stirred feelings.
- 20:46People are people are feeling a certain kind of way, right?
- 20:50And but I think it's wonderful. I her first video, I was a
- 20:56little I was a little, I wouldn't say offended.
- 20:58You can't offend me. I'm not an offendable person.
- 21:02It's I don't take offense to anything, but I was a little
- 21:07like Perl clutchy about it. Oh my goodness gracious me.
- 21:10She's talking about me when she was kind of, she kind of went
- 21:16after people talking heads like me on YouTube making a living
- 21:21off of talking about a case that is so important to her.
- 21:24Now we have to remember this young woman's 18 years old.
- 21:28She was 17 when it happened. She has every right to feel the
- 21:32way that she feels. She and because we live in this
- 21:35great nation of ours that where we value freedom of expression,
- 21:39freedom of speech, lots of freedoms that are not enjoyed
- 21:44all over the world, we have to applaud.
- 21:47I, I do anyway. I have to applaud her for aunt.
- 21:52I should say I have to allow her and I do applaud her for kind of
- 21:56kind of taken to the old proverbial airwaves.
- 22:00Now she did this video yesterday that we didn't get to be.
- 22:07I don't think it had been posted yet when Elizabeth and I were
- 22:11talking, and I find this super interesting, so let's have a
- 22:16listen. We believe there are some
- 22:19inappropriate videos, text messages and other pieces of
- 22:24evidence that could really help my dad.
- 22:27OK, I'm going to stop and then we're going to start over.
- 22:31In this case, Judge Mullins has been accused.
- 22:36It all started. It all started with this guy,
- 22:41Ben Fields, who was a sheriff's deputy of Mickey Stein's, the
- 22:46man who went into the judge's chambers and shot the judge
- 22:52dead, right? So, I mean, there's no, there's
- 22:57no disputing that there. This is the man who did the
- 22:59killing now, but it all started with this guy, guy named Ben
- 23:06Fields, who was Sheriff Stein's deputy, who pleaded guilty to.
- 23:13Basically, it's SA for sure. It's 100% SA.
- 23:18What he was doing, He was leveraging his power as the
- 23:24county's supervisor, The guy who put on ankle monitors for, for
- 23:32probationers and parolees, people in the jail, and he would
- 23:37leverage that power to get sexual favors from people.
- 23:42And he pleaded guilty to it. Of course, the there is an
- 23:47ongoing lawsuit that was filed on behalf of Sabrina Adkins and
- 23:52the late Jennifer Hill suing Mr. Fields and at at the time Mr.
- 24:00Steins for they basically were alleging that they either knew
- 24:06that this was going on that Mister Stein's knew that this
- 24:09was going on, or he should have known what was going on.
- 24:12Now he then went on in and killed the judge after four days
- 24:16after deposition. So he is no longer the sheriff
- 24:19and the the judge is dead and there is a new sheriff in that
- 24:24new Sheriff's Office is the new sheriff is being sued in this
- 24:28lawsuit. Any who one of the allegations
- 24:33that Sabrina Adkins made was that she had seen a videotape of
- 24:41Judge Mullins in his chambers having sex with and I should
- 24:48call it what it is SA ING a person who a female inmate from
- 24:56the jail and that it was well known throughout Letcher County
- 25:00that this kind of stuff was going on.
- 25:02Later on, a woman named Ty Adams said that she had a relation, a
- 25:05sexual relationship with Judge Mullins from the time she was 16
- 25:09years old. And Elizabeth from Hillbilly
- 25:14Crime, shout out to Elizabeth who comes on the show every week
- 25:17or two and she's awesome. You guys should go and subscribe
- 25:21to Hillbilly Crime if you haven't already.
- 25:26According to Elizabeth, she gets she gets people reaching out to
- 25:31her all the time saying, oh, yeah, I had that relationship
- 25:33or, oh, yeah, I've seen that video.
- 25:40So when Lila here is talking about, we believe that there are
- 25:46there are materials that would help my dad's case.
- 25:51I believe that's what she's talking about.
- 25:53All right, let me start again. It's only a minute and 10
- 25:55seconds long. Here we go.
- 25:57We believe there are some inappropriate videos, text
- 26:02messages, and other pieces of evidence that could really help
- 26:05my dad. If you live near, or if you live
- 26:09far and my dad has ever helped you in any way, now would be the
- 26:14time to reconsider and maybe show him some kindness.
- 26:19If you have anything at all, you can send it directly to Joel.
- 26:26I can't tell if she's saying Joe or Joel, and when Elizabeth says
- 26:32it, I don't know if it's Joe or Joel.
- 26:38So let me just look it up. Let me just see if I can find.
- 26:48Let me see if I can find anything.
- 27:09It might be Joel. I can't tell Joel Cotton, Joel,
- 27:17Joel Cotton. So she's saying if you have any
- 27:21of these, give them to Joel. He is the private investigator
- 27:25working on behalf of the defense.
- 27:26I according to what people told me, I don't know Mr. Cotton.
- 27:31I have not talked to him. Dad has spent most of his life
- 27:33helping others. It didn't matter what time it
- 27:35was or how much it costed. He's done it again and again and
- 27:39now it's time for us to show up for him.
- 27:43I know that some of you may have jobs now and families and you
- 27:46want to stay private. That is completely OK.
- 27:50But I just want you to know you can do it completely
- 27:53anonymously. What matters is doing the right
- 27:56thing and bringing the truth to life.
- 28:00Isaiah 4110 says if you're not for I'm with you.
- 28:04Be not dismayed. I'm your God, I will strengthen
- 28:08you. And I think our strength not
- 28:10only comes from God, but from people who are willing to stand
- 28:13up for what's right. So that is the video from Miss
- 28:18Lila Steins, I think. I mean, I'm now kind of
- 28:24defaulting over to my whole paternal like protection mode of
- 28:30this young woman like she's doing she's working on behalf of
- 28:34her dad and I think that she's doing a good job.
- 28:36I think if let me see if I can her TikTok account now she has
- 28:47seven almost 18,000 followers, 75,000 likes.
- 28:54She's yeah, she's she's doing, she's, she's doing her thing and
- 29:02I'm, I'm happy for her. OK, so that is our update on
- 29:07Lila Stein's. Let's here I can just bring this
- 29:11picture up. Let's see what y'all are saying
- 29:15about about the case real quick, Matthew West says.
- 29:24Do you think Kevin Mullins had something to his inner circle
- 29:26about Mickey? Well, my suspicion is that
- 29:34Mickey Stein's had knowledge of what was going on.
- 29:40I don't know that he was participating in it.
- 29:42He was. He had a pretty darn good
- 29:47reputation down there. So I don't know that he was
- 29:50participating in it. Maybe.
- 29:51I mean, there are people that have accused him of
- 29:53participating in it. So do I think Kevin Mullins had
- 29:59something about Mickey? Possibly.
- 30:06It's possible. I don't know.
- 30:10Matthew has said maybe Mickey had heard they were going to get
- 30:12him if he didn't play ball. Well, according to his according
- 30:17to his attorneys, the husband and wife duo of Jeremy and
- 30:25Carrie Bartley, Mickey was more concerned with with the safety
- 30:33of his wife and daughter than with his own safety.
- 30:38So I don't know. I don't know, one man's trash
- 30:44says I admire her. I do too.
- 30:46I think she's pretty awesome, Kel says.
- 30:50I think it's sweet how much she loves her dad.
- 30:52Me too. It's pretty cool.
- 31:00Yeah. So I see somebody has lost a
- 31:05visual, but I think, I think, I think we're working OK.
- 31:08I think we're working OK. So that's our update on, or a
- 31:12recap anyway, of the Kevin Mullins murder at the hand of
- 31:18Mickey Steins. I, I think what's open in court
- 31:22right now is the question of whether or not there will be a
- 31:27change of venue. Elizabeth seems to think that
- 31:29there will be. It's weird for the prosecution
- 31:33to ask for a change of venue. And that is an indication to me
- 31:36that they think that they they need that in order to get an
- 31:42impartial jury. Of course, the defense is like,
- 31:45we want, we want a local jury, Kell says.
- 31:55Kevin, I think you're right about Lila wanting to talk to
- 31:57Elizabeth and not having courage yet.
- 31:59I don't think she was being negative about Elizabeth
- 32:01particularly. Lila might feel intimidated.
- 32:05I Yeah, she might. She might.
- 32:13One of the one of the things that you learn while being
- 32:18employed as a reporter is that you have to get over your fear
- 32:22of talking to people. You just have to be able to
- 32:25approach people no matter who they are.
- 32:28And I feel like if I had been at that basketball game and Lila
- 32:32Stein's was 6 feet from me up, up, one or two rows behind me, I
- 32:37would have gone up there and said hello, introduced myself,
- 32:39asked her if she wanted to talk. She may have told me to kick
- 32:42rocks and leave her alone. And I don't know.
- 32:45I don't want to talk to anybody right now.
- 32:47And that would have been OK. I mean, I've had tons of people
- 32:50tell me in all sorts of different ways, both kind and
- 32:54not to get lost. And I'm happy to do that.
- 32:58But I usually go up and talk to him.
- 33:00Now, Elizabeth, kind of new to this, right?
- 33:04Plus she's kind of persona non grata in Letcher County because
- 33:08of because she's kind of spilling the tea on everybody.
- 33:11And and I applaud her for it. But yeah, I think I think she
- 33:18should have and I think maybe she should still reach out to
- 33:21Lila and say I'd love to talk. Maybe I'll reach out to Lila,
- 33:26see if she wants to talk. I think she's doing great.
- 33:29I think she's doing great. All right, let's let's move
- 33:32along, shall we, to just a very brief update in the Cada Scott
- 33:38case. Hold on, Where are we?
- 33:40Cada Scott? Cada Scott, There we go.
- 33:46Let me bring you over to just a very quick update.
- 33:50This is from yesterday. This is from six ABC.
- 33:55I'm partial to six ABC because my buddy Annie works there.
- 33:59She's amazing. Funeral plans are announced for
- 34:04Kata Scott after Philadelphia woman's body found behind vacant
- 34:07school Guests are asked to wear shades of pink.
- 34:10This is short. The community has shown an
- 34:13outpouring of support since Kata Scott's disappearance, which is
- 34:16why her funeral will be open to the public.
- 34:18Funeral plans are now set for Kata Scott.
- 34:21Police found the 23 year old Philadelphia woman's behind a
- 34:24vacant school in the city's Germantown section on October
- 34:2718th. She had been missing for two
- 34:30weeks. Yeah, this is.
- 34:32I mean, we've covered this case. We had a very good conversation
- 34:35with Joseph Scott Morgan. If you haven't seen that one,
- 34:37let me just show it to you real quick.
- 34:44Let me just show you. I think if we go here, yeah, we
- 34:53had a nice long conversation with Joseph Scott Morgan about
- 34:56the Kata Scott case. It's titled What Really Happened
- 34:58to Kata Scott with forensic expert Joseph Scott Morgan.
- 35:01So go and check that out. Let me get back to where I was.
- 35:08I'm so easily distracted. OK.
- 35:12Officials have charged 21 year old Keon King.
- 35:16This is Mr. King in Kata Scott's murder.
- 35:22The community, it goes on to say, has shown an outpouring of
- 35:25support since her disappearance, which is why her funeral will be
- 35:28open to the public. It takes place Saturday, 10 AM.
- 35:32Mount Airy Church of God in Christ on what a Gaunt Ave. in
- 35:39Philadelphia. Let me see if we can find that
- 35:41for you, Philly folk. Villa.
- 35:51Let's go to a map. So yeah, it's just off of
- 35:58Stenton Ave. and Ogontz Ave. Where is that area?
- 36:06Philly. So yeah, north of north of
- 36:09Philadelphia. And I mean, can we see what the
- 36:13church looks like? We can.
- 36:16Let's go down here a little bit. It's hard to see that tree is in
- 36:21the way. More trees.
- 36:24There we go. There is the church where her
- 36:27funeral will be held. That looks like a nice, big
- 36:30venue. And I just wanted to put it out
- 36:33there for those of you who are in Philadelphia.
- 36:35If you wanted to attend the funeral, It is tomorrow, 10 AM
- 36:41at the Mount Airy Church of God in Christ on Agonte Ave. there
- 36:45at the corner of Stanton. Yeah.
- 36:49So other than that, I don't have any other court updates or
- 36:53anything like that. OK, let's head over, shall we,
- 36:58to this case, which is just a heartbreaking case, But just in
- 37:06the spirit of recapping what we have covered this week, just a
- 37:12quick recap that Jay Caro has pleaded guilty.
- 37:18That happened back in October. He was sentenced a few days ago
- 37:22to 25 years to life and murder, 25 years to life, plus like a
- 37:29little bit more for the murder of his son.
- 37:32My question, and this actually was a very good question that
- 37:36was raised over in the tank. If you guys are in on Facebook,
- 37:42you're always invited to join us in the tank.
- 37:45There was a great post by Pat Burt Long, who is one of our
- 37:50active folks over in the tank. She used to be an admin but
- 37:53couldn't continue on. Her post says It seems that even
- 37:57though Jake Harrow has pleaded guilty in the murder of baby
- 37:59Emmanuel, the mom Rebecca Harrow, whereas Rebecca here is
- 38:03Rebecca is still sticking to her not guilty Ola story.
- 38:11Ola meaning she says that she was changing the baby's diaper.
- 38:15She heard hears somebody say Ola.
- 38:17She looks up, gets smacked, knocked unconscious.
- 38:20She comes too later and the baby is nowhere to be found.
- 38:22That was her story. Pat is calling it the Ola story.
- 38:28Is she blind to the truth or does she have a master plan?
- 38:30I think master plan. I think that since no body has
- 38:35been found, she is holding out for a plea deal.
- 38:38Well, I think plea deals are definitely on the table here.
- 38:41They don't need her to testify against Jake because he pleaded
- 38:44guilty. She knows the truth but wants a
- 38:46sweet deal before she cops a plea.
- 38:48Let's see what the state does. Will they offer a deal or do
- 38:52they have enough evidence to go to trial and get a guilty
- 38:54verdict? I think they probably do have
- 38:57enough evidence to go to trial and get a guilty verdict.
- 38:59However, they don't want to do that.
- 39:02The system is not set up for that.
- 39:04The system is set up to make pleas and I think that is what
- 39:10they're going to do. In fact, actually, Zafke says
- 39:16enough evidence. What does that matter for a plea
- 39:18deal? Florida had more than enough.
- 39:19Let me bring you back. In the Maddie Soto case, I
- 39:22refused to refer to cases by defendants names.
- 39:24Good for her, but that scumbag got to plea.
- 39:28Yeah, because prosecutors want to plea.
- 39:30They just want to plea. Every law school teaches them to
- 39:33plea. So then Rhonda said, obviously,
- 39:38since he plead, plead guilty, her story can't be true.
- 39:41I won't be surprised if she goes for some type of battered women
- 39:44defense. Possible, possible, possible.
- 39:47So that's what I've been wondering about.
- 39:49Jake. Rebecca Haro.
- 39:51Of course, Jake, in the spirit of a recap here, he got 25 to
- 39:57life. Then he got another 180 days for
- 40:06filing a false police report in his prior abuse case which was
- 40:09against his other daughter. He got an additional 6 year term
- 40:13and another eight months for being a felon in possession of a
- 40:17firearm. They all run consecutively.
- 40:20So what are we at 31? Plus 631 1/2 + 8.
- 40:26So 3232 and two months to life with 551 days of time served.
- 40:36Now Rebecca is due in court next on January 21st.
- 40:40That is a settlement conference. We will see by then what she
- 40:46decides to do. I don't know.
- 40:49Let's see what you guys think. I kind of let's go.
- 40:52Let me, Lynette is saying, did I turn my volume up?
- 41:01You can actually hear me? No, it's at the it's at the same
- 41:04spot that I always do. Same spot.
- 41:08I don't know, Bay Area here. Good, good, good, good.
- 41:15Nate says they better not offer any deal.
- 41:18I wouldn't hold your breath, Nate.
- 41:21I mean, I'm with you, but I wouldn't hold your breath, Kel
- 41:27says. He's so sweet.
- 41:28I don't understand how people can do that to people.
- 41:30I mean, look at that child. He is a sweet little guy.
- 41:38Let's see, Terry says. They seem to be headed possibly
- 41:46lower charges on mom. During his sentencing, there was
- 41:51a filing on behalf of the mother.
- 41:53It was enough to keep her case going forward.
- 41:55Right now, I don't know what that filing was.
- 41:58I'll have to take a look at that.
- 42:01Janice's battered defense does make sense.
- 42:03And and it does. It does make sense.
- 42:06It's it's possible. Yeah.
- 42:08I mean, I'm not saying she's not culpable, that she shouldn't
- 42:12have some kind of punishment for it, but but yeah, I do think
- 42:21that there is some, I guess what's the word I'm looking for?
- 42:29I, I, I do think that there is some validity to a defense like
- 42:33that. Kel says he should never get out
- 42:43for being such an evil dill hole.
- 42:47Get your dill hole mugs. Everybody get your dill hole
- 42:50mugs. It comes with its definition on
- 42:53this side as well. Get him at gavinfish.com.
- 42:56By the way, the other one that I have is just one more episode
- 43:01which has my logo on it. So if you if you want to support
- 43:06me that way, which I would deeply appreciate.
- 43:13Terry says if he did place the child in open land, hard to tell
- 43:16where. Yeah.
- 43:17Rest in peace, baby Emmanuel. The finally happened while judge
- 43:29was sentencing him. It was brought out at his
- 43:32hearing in the middle of it. OK, I'll have to look that up,
- 43:34see if I can get get that get that little piece of info.
- 43:40OK. The last thing that I would like
- 43:42to recap from this week involves the Suzanne Morphew case.
- 43:50All right, Suzanne Morphew, of course, went missing.
- 43:54Seems like that's a, it's a bit of a, a theme going on.
- 43:59And in fact, I mean, other than Kevin Mullins, Melody Buzzard
- 44:06went missing, Kada Scott went missing, Emmanuel Harrow went
- 44:09missing, Suzanne Morphew went missing.
- 44:14Her body was later discovered miles and miles away, long after
- 44:20Barry was arrested, charged. And then the first go around the
- 44:30like, the prosecutors so colossally hosed up that she was
- 44:34disbarred and Mr. Morphew went free.
- 44:37We've covered this case pretty extensively here on the channel.
- 44:41And then recently he was rearrested and and is facing
- 44:48charges in the murder of his wife.
- 44:52Now, the weird thing about this case to me, guys, and this is so
- 44:56weird, is that Suzanne and Barry's daughters appear to be
- 45:04solidly on Barry Morphew's side. And it's just so strange to me
- 45:11because the evidence seems so cut and dry.
- 45:16It seem, I mean, it is circumstantial, not tons of
- 45:20direct evidence, but you don't need direct evidence to get a
- 45:23conviction on this. That circumstantial evidence is
- 45:26piled like a mountain against him.
- 45:30The bam, the, oh, the affairs, the cell phone being turned off
- 45:36that I mean, him changing his work plans.
- 45:39There's just so much, right? But the thing that we covered
- 45:45this week was this document right here, which was an order
- 45:54granting the defendant's unopposed motion to cease
- 45:58unmonitored live stream of court proceedings.
- 46:00Now this happened. Let me just go back here.
- 46:03Following a September 2nd, 2025 status conference, it came to my
- 46:07attention, This is the judge writing that an individual with
- 46:10a YouTube channel called JLR Investigates posted a recording
- 46:13of the status conference, including the admonition that
- 46:15there shall be no recording made.
- 46:18JLR Investigates. Unlawful recording included
- 46:20comments from some of his 17,000 plus people who viewed the
- 46:25unlawful recording. Some of the commentary,
- 46:27including from JLR, takes issue with the constitutional
- 46:30requirement that the defendant is presumed innocent until
- 46:33proven otherwise, propounds several conspiracy theories
- 46:36concerning this case, and threatens violence against me,
- 46:39the judge, attorneys for both sides, and others, including
- 46:42several victims, both. JLR Investigates.
- 46:45Oh, but JLR Investigates is not the only YouTube channel that
- 46:48unlawfully recorded and then posted live stream hearings on
- 46:50the matter. And I am not fishing for
- 46:53sympathy here, but this whole thing where they threatened
- 46:57violence, I mean, I, I got several messages through my
- 47:05website, through e-mail seeking to intimidate me just for making
- 47:12a video talking about this this week.
- 47:15It's it's beyond ridiculous. Now, I'm not completely aware of
- 47:21Mr. Investigates. That's I guess what I've decided
- 47:24to call him. Isn't Jonathan Lee something I
- 47:28should call him by his actual name because it's not cool.
- 47:32Let's see, JLR investigates is what's his name, Jonathan Lee
- 47:45Riches. So Mr. Riches, I should say I
- 47:52I'm not completely familiar with his his shtick and I I don't
- 47:58mean to be putting him down. That's not my intention there.
- 48:01Just like I have my shtick. Everybody has a shtick, right?
- 48:06But it does seem, I mean, Dang, 477,000 subscribers and he's
- 48:12putting out like 3 videos a day. This guy is a beast.
- 48:15But and, and so, yeah, I would, I would love to, to kind of be
- 48:21like him in that aspect. But one of the things about his
- 48:27shtick is that he does seem to just be willing to put anything
- 48:32out there, whether it is corroborated or not.
- 48:34He's willing to ride the ride. The lightning man, he is on the
- 48:38line and just just right at crossing it, just so close to
- 48:45crossing it all the time. And in this case, I think he
- 48:48did. I think he crossed it and he
- 48:50ruined it for all of us who would like to report on the
- 48:55case. Because when we get down just a
- 48:58little further here into this order, the Colorado judicial
- 49:04system does not have the technological capability to
- 49:08monitor participation live streaming, let alone the staff
- 49:11to then check various social media outlets to ensure no
- 49:13violations, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
- 49:16And it would be unfair and perhaps unconstitutional to
- 49:19proceed with citations for contempt of court against only
- 49:22those individuals like JLR investigators investigates whose
- 49:27true identities can be known. So therefore, the defendants
- 49:31unopposed motion to cease unmonitored live stream of court
- 49:34proceedings is hereby granted. And that sucks because the rest
- 49:37of us with you know who who follow a stricter ethic now
- 49:46cannot without going to great effort report on this case at
- 49:54least directly from court. I mean, I, I probably can, I
- 50:00probably should fact those of you who are watching that are on
- 50:03Slack, will you guys help me remember I should apply to be a
- 50:08reporter that gets access to those live streams to the Webex
- 50:11link, which I am I'd be happy to to report from.
- 50:17So that is that is the update or I guess the recap on the Suzanne
- 50:25Morphe case. Let's see what you guys are
- 50:26saying over here. Rocks and raccoons with Auntie
- 50:36Jan stopping by. Just say hello.
- 50:38Thank you very much. She says.
- 50:40I agree with you about the daughters, but if you were in
- 50:42their shoes, would you want to believe your dad was a monster?
- 50:46Well, yeah. The power of belief is.
- 50:50Is Oh, well, this is terrific English, Gavin.
- 50:53Good sentence structure. The power of belief is powerful,
- 51:01I should say, profound, right? Yeah.
- 51:05Maybe they just refuse to believe it.
- 51:07Maybe they haven't looked at the evidence.
- 51:09Maybe their dad has told him stories.
- 51:11Maybe, maybe, maybe they just believe what he's saying.
- 51:15I person now, of course, he is innocent until proven guilty in
- 51:19a court of law. He has.
- 51:21He has that. We have to assume that.
- 51:27So allegedly, if he's guilty, maybe he's just good at spinning
- 51:33a story. I don't know.
- 51:36I don't know. Let's see, the SBSO released a
- 51:44new map. Let me see.
- 52:01We're talking about in the. Yeah, yeah, I can, I can circle
- 52:06back around to that. Let's let's circle back around
- 52:09to it. Is this when did they release
- 52:17this? November 3rd?
- 52:18OK yeah, let's let's circle back around to Melanie Buzzard real
- 52:20quick. Santa Barbara County Sheriff's
- 52:23detectives are sharing additional information, A and a
- 52:26route map and photo that includes Ashley Buzzard in their
- 52:29ongoing search for missing at risk 9 year old Melody Buzzard.
- 52:33Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office began investigating blah
- 52:37blah blah blah blah. Well, no, I shouldn't yadda
- 52:40yadda. This Santa Barbara County
- 52:42Sheriff's Office began investigating on the 14th of
- 52:44October when a school administrator reported Melody's
- 52:47prolonged absence. Deputies attempted to locate
- 52:50Melody and her mother Ashley at their residence in Lompoc, CA,
- 52:54but we're only able to speak with Ashley, who provided no
- 52:57verifiable explanation for Melody's whereabouts.
- 53:00A search of the residence confirmed that Melody was not
- 53:04there. Ashley has remained
- 53:05uncooperative and is not confirmed to Melody's location
- 53:08or welfare. Through their investigations,
- 53:10detectives have confirmed that Ashley left California with
- 53:13Melody in a white 2024 Chevy Malibu, initially bearing
- 53:17California license plate 9 MNG One O 1 October.
- 53:21On October 7th, detectives believe that Ashley and Melody
- 53:24traveled as far as Nebraska, with a return trip that included
- 53:28Kansas. Beginning October 8th, 2025, the
- 53:33Malibu was observed with a New York license plate Weird HCG
- 53:389677. It is unknown when the plate was
- 53:42installed or whether additional plates were used at other times
- 53:45during travel. Wow, holy cow she is.
- 53:50She is trying to cover her tracks.
- 53:52That's what it looks like to me. The New York plate seen on the
- 53:56car does not belong to the vehicle or to Ashley.
- 53:59Investigators believed believe it was used as a false or switch
- 54:04plate to avoid detection. When the vehicle was returned to
- 54:07the rental agency in Lompoc, CA, the assigned California plate
- 54:10was on the vehicle. Oh my goodness.
- 54:14Detectives have now confirmed the melody was last seen along
- 54:17the return route along the return route via video
- 54:21surveillance on October 9th in the region between the Colorado
- 54:25Utah border. Wow.
- 54:31Investigators are working to fill gaps in the timeline for
- 54:34that date and are working with law enforcement agencies in
- 54:37Colorado, Utah, Arizona, Nevada, and Southern California for
- 54:40assistance in reaching the members of their communities.
- 54:44Investigators believe the Malibu traveled through the following
- 54:47areas on or about October 9th. Green River, UT.
- 54:52So this is kind of southeastern Utah.
- 54:56Panguitch, Utah. Getting closer down there
- 54:59towards Saint George, northwest Arizona, Prim, Nevada, Rancho
- 55:05Cucamonga, CA. The Sheriff's Office is sharing
- 55:08a map of the vehicle's stops and urges anyone in those
- 55:11communities to check surveillance and report relevant
- 55:14information. Detectives are seeking anyone
- 55:17who may have had contact with Ashley or Melody at any point
- 55:21from October 9th to the 10th, 2025 or any video footage from
- 55:25the route of travel. So let's take a look at this.
- 55:28So this is the 9th and 10th starting in Green River, going
- 55:32down through Panguitch, back up and down to Saint George, down
- 55:36to Prim, which is right on the border of, I mean that it's
- 55:40basic. Prim is like a gas station right
- 55:43there. It looks like she didn't travel
- 55:46through Las Vegas. So we're on at this point.
- 55:49We're on. I think that's US 15 right there
- 55:56and I think it continues to be US15 all the way down into the
- 55:59Los Angeles basin. Of course, this isn't a map that
- 56:04let me, let me give me a second here.
- 56:09Let me open up a map real quick. Utah map.
- 56:23Yeah. So that is US15 going South
- 56:32through Saint George. So when if they were up in
- 56:35Panguitch, they were on Utah 89 and then up here in the Green
- 56:43River, that's OK. So that's US 70 crossing down on
- 56:4889 through Panguitch, then over to Saint George, back on the
- 56:52I-15I-15, down transiting through Las Vegas into Prim, and
- 56:59then it's still I-15 all the way down through Barstow into looks
- 57:07like into the Inland Empire, where then she probably took 210
- 57:13across. So if you are on I-15 and and
- 57:19Utah 89 and I70, yeah, if you're in those areas, she stopped
- 57:29Green River, she stopped in Panguitch, she stopped I think
- 57:33in Saint George. Let's go back to Yep, she
- 57:38stopped in Prim and down into Rancho Cucamonga.
- 57:46So see if if you have any surveillance, maybe you were
- 57:49driving, maybe you have a dash Cam.
- 57:52Look for it. Look, look, look for it.
- 57:54OK. And then lastly this, they did
- 57:58release that pictures. Investigators are sharing
- 58:01additional surveillance images of Ashley and Melody that were
- 58:04captured at a rental car location in Lompoc at the start
- 58:08of the road trip on October 7th. Both Ashley and Melody appear to
- 58:11be wearing wigs with melodies appearing darker and straighter
- 58:14than her natural hair. Melody Buzzard is described as a
- 58:17nine year old female, approximately four, 660 lbs,
- 58:21with brown curly hair and brown eyes.
- 58:23Detectives are asking anyone who's seen Melody or has
- 58:26information about her whereabouts to contact the
- 58:28Sheriff's Office through one of the following methods.
- 58:30I'm going to read this again. Detectives are at 805-681-4150.
- 58:36The anonymous tip line is 805-681-4171.
- 58:41I swear that anonymous tip line makes me yawn.
- 58:45That is where I yawn. It's funny.
- 58:47And then online tips at sbsheriff.org Whack home whack
- 58:51anonymous hyphen tip. And detectives will continue to
- 58:55provide updates as new information becomes available
- 58:57that does not compromise the investigation.
- 59:00I want to see if there are any others that we are missing.
- 59:13This was the one from today. Oh here is some video footage.
- 59:28Doesn't seem to be playing for me though.
- 59:36OK, Yeah, OK, so same kind of thing.
- 59:46Same kind of thing. Goodness sake, this case, man.
- 59:49All right, let's see if there's any other comments before we
- 59:52call it a night. Joanne Marie says these types of
