Why Folklore & Horror Tropes Persevere | Capítulo 289
This week, Diosa and Mala review Latin American folklore like El Cucuy and La Llorona and what the tales meant to scare small children reveal about the culture. They also dive into the mid-aughts resurgence of vampires and how Stephanie Meyer's Twilight transformed the scary vampire figure into the chaste, romantic boyfriend. In true Locatora fashion, they comment about the real horrors of girlhood, womanhood, and how we persevere anyway.
