Transcript
- 0:00Oh, God. Oh, my God.
- 0:12As soon as it starts like crying, which is immediately right.
- 0:16You start planning how to get rid of it.
- 0:18You. Yeah.
- 0:20I know this because I'm a child
- 0:23bearer. You once
- 0:26I bear children. You once were a child, at least.
- 0:28Yeah. And my parents couldn't get rid.
- 0:31You couldn't get rid of me fast enough.
- 0:32Sure enough.
- 0:33Welcome back to Cage match, Cohen, a roundabout way of meeting Nicholas Cage.
- 0:37I am your host, Sean, here with my cohost Nick and our producer.
- 0:42Peter, hello.
- 0:43And this week we're doing something a little different.
- 0:45We're going to talk about the movie G Force.
- 0:48Welcome. Welcome back, Shay.
- 0:51Thank you.
- 0:53I'm so glad to be back.
- 0:54Why were you here last time?
- 0:56I was talking to you about some Nicholas Cage movie
- 1:02attraction was Sally girl.
- 1:04No, I know.
- 1:06Hello, way to ruin the comedy, Peter.
- 1:10God, sorry.
- 1:11You know, we usually reserve that for me.
- 1:13Big joke explainer.
- 1:15She's yeah, that's what I was doing.
- 1:18Talking about Weatherman and girl with all that Kim or Shelley.
- 1:22Poor show. Shelly was a badass.
- 1:24She was a badass. I'm a stand for Shelley.
- 1:26I mean, but what was that for that tone?
- 1:29What was the song for?
- 1:31What was the song from Valley Girl?
- 1:33Get it, girl. Oh, is your boyfriend.
- 1:36Joey, are you gay?
- 1:37Joey, are you gay?
- 1:38It's queer.
- 1:39Oh, Joey, are you queer?
- 1:41Yeah.
- 1:41Joey, are you queer boy?
- 1:45Something, something.
- 1:46We're here, boy.
- 1:48Sounds right.
- 1:49The only rhyme I've got for you are you queer boy?
- 1:52Why are you so weird?
- 1:55Thank you.
- 1:57Yeah, there we go.
- 1:58Speaking of Rears,
- 2:00guinea pigs, G Force.
- 2:01Yeah, that's terrible.
- 2:03All right. I accept it.
- 2:05Is it not a segue?
- 2:08No, no.
- 2:10I still don't know what segues are.
- 2:11Doesn't matter.
- 2:12Shay, those like scooter things that dumb people fly around on.
- 2:17Did you guys ever ride on a segway?
- 2:18No, never ridden a segway.
- 2:20And now they've all been outlawed.
- 2:22Yeah, they're definitely gone.
- 2:23My friend really.
- 2:25Oh, yeah.
- 2:25Segues are going.
- 2:26My friend in high school, his mom got them like a family segway to her.
- 2:31And then his sister didn't want to go.
- 2:33So he was like, do you want to go ride a segway around?
- 2:35It's like, fuck, yeah, I do.
- 2:37Then they made you wear a helmet.
- 2:39Well, we had to wear the helmet.
- 2:40We had to do like the safety training.
- 2:41The whole point of segues is you can't fall off.
- 2:45Right. And then our president showed you showed you could.
- 2:49Everyone can.
- 2:49So they pivoted to you shant to fall off.
- 2:52No one may ride a segway.
- 2:54Yeah.
- 2:55I have tried to ride one of those
- 2:59like hoverboard things.
- 3:00Yeah. The way worse experience.
- 3:03I hated that. Yeah.
- 3:04I got on it and like my whole body just like was a big wiggly noodle.
- 3:10And then I fell off backwards and then all these kids laughed at me.
- 3:13And it was a family reunion.
- 3:14So I have to see them all the time.
- 3:17That's scary.
- 3:19So don't don't try to ride one of those for the first time
- 3:22when you're like 37 years old.
- 3:24Yeah. Family or in front of your coworkers.
- 3:27Like this person did at my old place of business and the offices.
- 3:31There wasn't a whole lot of people there that day.
- 3:33And she broke her fucking ankle.
- 3:37That's amazing.
- 3:37And then all of a sudden there were new rules at the office.
- 3:42The following week.
- 3:43This is like in high school when Healy's were a thing for like a week.
- 3:46Yeah.
- 3:46But you were in high school when he was a thing.
- 3:49That's cute.
- 3:50I think we're all the same age, roughly.
- 3:52And why were he was a thing when you were in high school?
- 3:54People had Healy's.
- 3:55I don't know that I recall Healy's being a thing in high school.
- 3:59You just people like strapped two wheels to the outside of their shoes.
- 4:04I mean, I know I guess wearing roller skates.
- 4:06I graduated a year late because I failed the first grade.
- 4:09Oh, that's what it's just that year.
- 4:11That one year.
- 4:12So I agree.
- 4:13I joined a no three. Fair enough.
- 4:15So G Force, sell us on this movie.
- 4:18Voice cast.
- 4:18You've got four guinea pigs.
- 4:20You've got four guinea pigs.
- 4:22You've got a mole.
- 4:23Wait, there were four guinea pigs.
- 4:25John Favreau was the fourth.
- 4:26OK, he's the add on.
- 4:28So you got you got Sam Rockwell as Darwin.
- 4:31You've got Tracy Morgan as Blaster.
- 4:33Jesus, that really dates this this movie.
- 4:36And then Penelope Cruz's Juarez, which
- 4:39that you're going to say, Juarez,
- 4:41was like, God damn, Zach Galifianakis is their human handler.
- 4:44Yeah, you've got John Favreau's Hurley and then Nick Cage is
- 4:50really the one who steals the show.
- 4:52Speckles the mole.
- 4:53Speckles with a voice.
- 4:56With a full voice.
- 4:59Yeah, and he's kind of like the techie, you know, let me find out where all the things are.
- 5:05That was basically pretty good.
- 5:07Yeah. Yeah.
- 5:07Also, Bill Nighy's in this movie and we'll learn it and we'll learn it.
- 5:11And everybody has a forgettable role.
- 5:13Yeah. And Steve Buscemi.
- 5:14There was so many as a hamster.
- 5:17Yeah. Why?
- 5:18Bucky, a very aggressive hamster.
- 5:20Why not? Why not have Steve Buscemi play an aggressive hamster named Bucky?
- 5:25I don't know. I'm mad at Steve Buscemi because he's taking
- 5:28good work away from Jason Alexander in this film.
- 5:32That's true.
- 5:34I thought you were going to bring up Conair again.
- 5:37No, I love Conair.
- 5:39The records will show.
- 5:40I absolutely love that movie.
- 5:42You just hate Steve Buscemi.
- 5:43Just Garland Green.
- 5:45Garland Green did nothing wrong.
- 5:46So, OK, apparently he's walking free.
- 5:49That's right.
- 5:50All right. I mean, basically a bunch of guinea pigs
- 5:55were like working for the FBI, some kind of federal, some crap.
- 6:01And they're like agents and they're guinea pigs and they're smart
- 6:06and they're trying to do all this stuff.
- 6:08And then they have to like go into like basically
- 6:12they get shut down and then they're still trying to save the world
- 6:16from some crazy shit going on.
- 6:19Microwaves.
- 6:21Yeah. Oh, yeah.
- 6:21There's like appliances that are involved here.
- 6:24Right. Bill Nye owns this like appliance company
- 6:27and he wants to be the top appliance company in the fucking world.
- 6:30Right. It turns out these appliances are more than just appliances.
- 6:35Smart appliances.
- 6:37They're extra smart and they do, you know,
- 6:40horrible things and violent things and trying to like eradicate.
- 6:44But not a single sexy thing.
- 6:46Humans are not because it is a PG movie.
- 6:49Like, I want to remember that, too.
- 6:51This is which is why it's a PG movie where they shoot
- 6:54like spinning blades at the main character and stuff.
- 6:57And like it's a constant threat of like annihilating.
- 7:01Oh, they're going to microwave one of the characters. Yeah.
- 7:05Yeah. I mean, they show like, well, yeah.
- 7:07And not to mention one character gets thrown in a dump truck
- 7:10and crushed and crushed.
- 7:11Yeah. And not to mention like the weird, cool sexual tension
- 7:16between two guinea pigs.
- 7:18Why does anybody worry?
- 7:19Can you make three?
- 7:20Well, in the first time, like when they blaster and they come
- 7:23when Juarez comes in with blaster in the scuba gear
- 7:28and does the classic like spinning head
- 7:32head like drying off the hair, but it's the full body and like for toss.
- 7:35Yeah. I'm like,
- 7:38wait, what kind of grunt was that?
- 7:40Oh, I don't know if I like that either.
- 7:42I don't like that face either.
- 7:45I have to shit.
- 7:46Oh, it's a patient.
- 7:48As long as it's not like the horniness coming out,
- 7:50this is the wrong time for you to tell me that you're a furry
- 7:54and to clarify, there's never a right time.
- 7:57That's a line I'm going to draw on the sand.
- 7:58And I'm sorry to that community.
- 8:00And that's really
- 8:02don't be a furry. Don't be a plushie.
- 8:04But actually, you know what?
- 8:06Be a furry. Be a plushie.
- 8:08Just don't come at me with that.
- 8:10Do your thing.
- 8:11Do it up.
- 8:13Just don't come at me.
- 8:14But anyway, back to getting to our cartoons.
- 8:18I actually surprisingly enjoyed it because
- 8:23it's just this hour and a half long movie.
- 8:25It's not very long.
- 8:26They I mean, which I still think is too long for children.
- 8:29But it was surprisingly like entertaining the whole way through.
- 8:34You know, there were maybe some action sequences.
- 8:38I was less like, OK.
- 8:41And you could definitely tell that they all recorded their audio
- 8:44separately from one another because nothing was like
- 8:48no one was reacting to anyone's emotions.
- 8:50But for a little PG movie about some guinea pigs doing things,
- 8:55I thought it was pretty good.
- 8:56And the twist, which we will talk about, I'm sure the shocker moment.
- 9:02I seriously I know I'm dumb, but I wasn't.
- 9:05I didn't see it coming.
- 9:07Oh, I pegged surprise.
- 9:09The speckle surprise.
- 9:10I did not. I picked I I called that shot from like minute five.
- 9:14You also wasn't trying to call.
- 9:16But well, yeah, so that's what my note says.
- 9:20Wait, I didn't know the mole was the mole.
- 9:25Wow, I'm dumb. That's what it said.
- 9:26Well, because it's like it's minute like seven of the film
- 9:30when they're going over the files that Darwin steals and speckles like,
- 9:35it's not here.
- 9:36And I'm like, speckles, it's a you're just fucking with them.
- 9:39You're the bad guy.
- 9:40I was I was mildly drunk and just trying to be shitty about a kids movie.
- 9:43And then come the end of the film like, hmm, well, all right.
- 9:48I 100% had the same reaction.
- 9:50I was like, this is bad.
- 9:51But I am also a little drunk and having kind of a good time.
- 9:55I was probably pretty so.
- 9:57They're really enjoyed my time with this film.
- 9:59Yeah, I watched it and I didn't I was with.
- 10:01Yeah, I didn't like catch that until later.
- 10:03But my brain was actively trying not to watch the movie.
- 10:07The brain was trying to escape your head. Yeah.
- 10:09So let me just let it all happen in front of me.
- 10:12And I wasn't really pretty much thought into it at all.
- 10:15I was just kind of letting things unfold.
- 10:19Let G force happen to you.
- 10:22I do want to say I did appreciate that the big rennet like the big
- 10:29shake up to the system that Bill Nighy's character,
- 10:31like the Sabre brand was going to bring to everything was like your coffee.
- 10:35Your coffee maker will have a computer in it that will tell
- 10:38tell the store window or do you new coffee?
- 10:41Yeah, which is essentially what Amazon does now.
- 10:43Yeah. Yeah. Or those smart fridges that are. Yeah.
- 10:46Yeah. Hey, you need milk. Yeah.
- 10:48Careful, the smart fridges are about to come alive.
- 10:52That's why I don't own any smart technology.
- 10:54Just dumps a lot of pointy shit in them. Apparently just dumb stuff.
- 10:58The smartest thing I have is my probably my PlayStation.
- 11:01And I keep a hammer like right next to it just so it knows what's up.
- 11:04It's hard to me was to point out your iPhone.
- 11:07No, no, it's not mine. That's his.
- 11:09He technically owns it. It's true. Yeah.
- 11:13I'm on Peter's family plan.
- 11:14You're paying it off eventually. I paid you this month. Yeah, you did.
- 11:17Yeah, that's why we get together now to just reconcile bills.
- 11:22This is about strong.
- 11:24And then I'm just here.
- 11:26So G4.
- 11:28It's a children's movie.
- 11:30Just like this podcast.
- 11:32So it's a Bruckheimer movie and Disney, which is what I think is so funny
- 11:36about this entire thing, it's like it was also 3D.
- 11:39OK, so the the animation in this is God awful.
- 11:44It's it's talking animals, but it's so like there's no way
- 11:47to have good talking animals.
- 11:49OK, so the main character.
- 11:51Unless it's air, but Darwin, but don't air, but ever talk.
- 11:54Now, this is an air, but podcast dunks.
- 11:56He just dunks. Fuck you. Or plays hockey or soccer.
- 11:59I don't know. But he never boxes.
- 12:02Well, are we talking about one or air?
- 12:04There was never the air, but boxing movie.
- 12:08Darwin is the worst culprit of bad animation
- 12:11because every other hamster seems to have like or guinea pig.
- 12:14It seems to have like an attempt at natural like fur and hair.
- 12:18But he's just like this weird, smooth, like textured lizard.
- 12:23He's got some hair. I disagree.
- 12:24There was some texture.
- 12:26I was noticing I was actually.
- 12:28Did you think you could just reach out and pet him?
- 12:30You're like, I fucking believe it.
- 12:32I mean, I believe in you.
- 12:34Were you watching in 3D?
- 12:35I in my mind, I was it was definitely just popping right out.
- 12:40No, I'm not talking about anyone's.
- 12:42So all of you can shut right now.
- 12:46I don't even know why we get together on this podcast.
- 12:48I just come here for the conversation.
- 12:50I'm talking about this. What are we even here for?
- 12:54Yeah, I don't know.
- 12:55I'm not an animation snob, so I just really enjoyed.
- 13:01I didn't. Nothing was like glitchy or weird or looked funky to me that way.
- 13:05And I just thought he was a short haired guinea pig.
- 13:08And the other ones were different.
- 13:10So it didn't really that I never really actually had another thought about the hair.
- 13:15So that might just be you.
- 13:17The animation was not offensive to me, except for the fact that they animated
- 13:21animals talking. Yeah, I mean, that maybe I only.
- 13:25I just like all my animals talk for real.
- 13:27Clearly, you don't enjoy drugs are nice. Yeah.
- 13:31So I don't like fun. Yeah.
- 13:33Yeah, that's what I just said.
- 13:35John Favreau's character, I fucking hated.
- 13:37Yeah, early was rough.
- 13:39Oh, yeah. Well, he's just there as like a fart joke.
- 13:42Yeah. System. He was there for the kids.
- 13:44He wasn't there with like the the high level spy thriller.
- 13:47We were all there for.
- 13:48I'm talking highbrow stuff. Yeah. So
- 13:52I guess what I really like, though, is that there was just so many big
- 13:55celebrities in this, which I always love about any kind of film with animated
- 14:00elements and not all of the big movie stars were the animated characters.
- 14:07So, you know, like you said, Zach Galifianakis and Will Arnett.
- 14:10This would have been early Galifianakis, though.
- 14:12He wasn't really great at being like the like a sentimental dude.
- 14:18I mean, I guess, you know, he was he was all right for the role, I suppose.
- 14:22He was to draw the adult.
- 14:24He was a human in a human role.
- 14:27Yeah. And that's about all he provided.
- 14:29And he fulfilled that.
- 14:31OK, so the counterpoint is is Marcy, his like assistant
- 14:35who doesn't satisfy anything other than she was a woman.
- 14:41Is Marcy just an assistant name?
- 14:44Has there ever been a lead named Marcy or ever a lead Marcy?
- 14:48I mean, there's Marcy's playground.
- 14:50But that's a band. And three decades ago, there was Marcy Darcy,
- 14:55the foil to Al Bundy and married with children.
- 14:58I'm going to just do a throwback.
- 15:00But she wasn't a lead.
- 15:00Our conversation earlier at dinner about peanuts,
- 15:03and that there's Marcy the second to Peppermint Patty.
- 15:07So I'm just a second.
- 15:08I guess I'm agreeing with you that I don't know, because that's the Marcia.
- 15:12There might not be a top dog.
- 15:14Marcy Marcy's are always the system.
- 15:18Yes, always the bright side.
- 15:20If you ever want your child to rise up to the middle name of Marcy Marcy. Yeah.
- 15:27She's mediocrity.
- 15:29She's Marcy.
- 15:31Mm hmm. She's going to have two jobs in her 40s.
- 15:37Marcy.
- 15:39OK, so the other thing that I really do want to talk about is the Nick Cage voice.
- 15:43Oh, yeah. Speckles voice is a fucking choice.
- 15:47So I don't know what you're talking about.
- 15:49So Peter and I talked about this briefly, or I'm like,
- 15:51oh, that's an unrecognizable Nick Cage role.
- 15:54And Peter pointed out, like, not unless you've seen Peggy Sue got married.
- 15:58Yeah, it's almost like the same.
- 16:01I mean, he had a he had a great idea for a character in the 80s
- 16:05that is shot down by literally everyone and kept his uncle
- 16:10from ever working with him again.
- 16:12But he perfected it to play Speckles the mole. Yeah.
- 16:15Get that Disney money because then he did national treasure movies
- 16:18and Sorcerer's Apprentice.
- 16:20Yeah, I do want to say I did appreciate a Brockheimer film
- 16:23that wasn't three hours long, but it did have an obligatory red, white and blue.
- 16:28Go America.
- 16:29Did it have a rap? This seems like something that would have had a rap.
- 16:32It should have. I mean, Tracy Morgan was in it like we could have had a rap.
- 16:35Well, it's Tracy Morgan rap.
- 16:37More specifically, if you count all the Black Eyed Peas songs
- 16:40in the soundtrack, there are some rap.
- 16:43I suppose one Black Eyed Peas song that they play not saying Black Eyed Peas
- 16:46a rap, but that they speak their verses sometimes in their song.
- 16:52I mean, someone's got to pay Will.
- 16:53I am come at us, Black Eyed Peas.
- 16:56They must have sponsored that fucking movie
- 16:58because there's definitely work.
- 17:00We were keeping track of the songs in here.
- 17:02We're like, OK, I got a feeling. OK.
- 17:04And then, oh, I got a feeling again.
- 17:06OK. Oh, Black Eyed Peas again.
- 17:07Oh, but it's boom boom pow. OK. OK.
- 17:10And then, oh, boom boom pow again.
- 17:13And then they went into something else that also played twice
- 17:16that isn't Black Eyed Peas, but set similar sound to it.
- 17:19And then the end credits were Black Eyed Peas again.
- 17:22And that is pretty much all the music you got.
- 17:26Is this movie for Galicious?
- 17:29Does it make the boys go loco?
- 17:34I just I just I just said that to get this look at a neck and it worked.
- 17:38Yeah, that works well for a podcast.
- 17:42We're a physical comedy podcast.
- 17:44Really, if you want to see what this podcast is like,
- 17:48you have to log into my toilet cams here.
- 17:52Then you really know.
- 17:53Currently, the only ones Peters allowed me to install in his house.
- 17:57Allowed or not know of or assisted.
- 18:03So what so much like the toilet cam.
- 18:06This movie is awful.
- 18:09So this does this does know this movie does stand out for one particular reason.
- 18:13And it's a rare turn where Nick Cage plays a villain.
- 18:16I think we've seen like maybe this two or three times.
- 18:19Yeah. Yeah. And his illustrious career.
- 18:21Mm hmm. He also like he learns his lesson real quick because kids film.
- 18:26He turns around on the entire thing rapidly.
- 18:29Yeah. Yeah. Oh, yeah.
- 18:31I can't be bad. Being bad is bad.
- 18:35My notes say a 10 second speech about family makes speckles have a change.
- 18:41Yeah, he's clearly watched Fast and the Furious.
- 18:44Every like I love it.
- 18:46Every bit of like moral weight
- 18:49or like anything that like really should take like a real
- 18:53the character moment is over in like four seconds.
- 18:58It's like, oh, Darwin, you're my brother.
- 19:01No, I'm not. Oh, shit, I am. OK.
- 19:04I mean, I guess that is where the PG kids movie comes in because kids,
- 19:09they're not there to sit through the complexities
- 19:12of the relationships between the getting there for black eyed peas.
- 19:16They are there for black eyed peas and that boom boom pow.
- 19:19I got that boo boo pow. Yeah.
- 19:22What an awful time in American history.
- 19:26I also have a note here that just says
- 19:30I can't stop laughing at the parts that are supposed to be heartwarming.
- 19:35Yeah, it's true.
- 19:36It was just silly. It was a silliness.
- 19:38But again, I was thoroughly entertained and I definitely wrote down
- 19:42several quotes from Speckles that were quite good.
- 19:46I don't know. This is, you know, the informant.
- 19:49I'm also doing close.
- 19:50I don't know. You have you have the voice of a speckles.
- 19:53Why don't you give us a couple of those wrinkles from Speckle on me?
- 19:57I created an army of robotic appliances
- 19:59and they created an array of electromagnetic nodes.
- 20:02Nodes capable of pulling down all the space jump orbiting planet
- 20:07and driving every human underground.
- 20:10Nodes.
- 20:12When he says nodes like that, I
- 20:16shit my pants. I was laughing so hard.
- 20:19It's like what? I had to rewind it.
- 20:21No, no.
- 20:25Whoa. Did you take a crap while you were saying that or what?
- 20:29Because it sounds like, oh,
- 20:32you have our new outro for season two.
- 20:37Now it's my turn to do a little pest control.
- 20:40Oh, yeah. The lines are terrible.
- 20:43The writing is terrible. The directing is terrible.
- 20:45Sam Rockwell's pretty good.
- 20:47Sam Rockwell's fine.
- 20:48Except when he says Yippee Ki-Yay, coffee maker.
- 20:53So, Nick, this will probably make you happy, but I don't know if you know this,
- 20:56but the director of this point, Yeatman, has no other directorial credits. Good.
- 21:03OK, wait, there is one thing that I have to talk about,
- 21:06and I just need to know if anyone else
- 21:09you should have this whole thing with I have one thing to talk about. OK.
- 21:13It's going to save me a lot of trouble.
- 21:16What's the night? What's the first bill?
- 21:18No, thank you. OK.
- 21:20In the beginning, there's
- 21:23when they're doing the whole beginning sequence and they have their little fly
- 21:27friend who's a little flying, not much to fly.
- 21:30And he's flying around getting, you know, all the intel or whatever.
- 21:33And he flies into Bill Nye's nostril.
- 21:37And then Bill Nye, he decides to take two fingers and hold them up.
- 21:43Now, I just everybody listening, just take two fingers and hold them up
- 21:48and then look at your hand like the fingers are together,
- 21:50not like a peace sign, but they're together.
- 21:52OK, now you are you're all thinking things right now.
- 21:55But he just takes these fingers just like that.
- 21:58And he decides to swat at his nose and face just with those two fingers like that.
- 22:04He just goes like in front of his nose like that a few times with his two eye.
- 22:13I that broke my brain.
- 22:16I was like, wait, wait, babe, I look over, I look over.
- 22:21I'm like, is it just me or is this a really weird way to
- 22:26fly in your face?
- 22:30It just oh, OK.
- 22:32He's had a fancy dinner.
- 22:34He doesn't want anybody to think that he smelled a fart or something.
- 22:37Oh, that's a two fingers impression.
- 22:39Yeah. Yeah. OK. A big fart.
- 22:41That's four. Sometimes.
- 22:43So that's the only thing I came here to actually talk about.
- 22:45So if anyone else wants to go, go ahead.
- 22:48Do you swat a fly?
- 22:49How many fingers does it take?
- 22:52I'm like a whole hander.
- 22:54Yeah, I just I'm like, grab.
- 22:55Yeah. Or the the clap, you know, not just swatting.
- 22:59Even just one hand open palm in front of my face at a new get away from me.
- 23:05And you know, fly.
- 23:07That's weird.
- 23:08I've never had a fly in my face before in my entire life.
- 23:10So I don't have the experience to.
- 23:14You just don't attract flies.
- 23:16Yeah, no. That's not what I heard about crap.
- 23:19Sorry.
- 23:22There there seems to have only been two interviews
- 23:25with Nicolas Cage that I could find about this movie.
- 23:28And one of them, the host of the interview was awful.
- 23:33He he annoyed me more than the movie.
- 23:35So I got like a minute in.
- 23:37So I wouldn't watch that one.
- 23:38So I'm only going to talk about this other one where he talked to some people from Ireland,
- 23:42which is irrelevant to the story.
- 23:44He was saying and the way he phrased it, it sounded like he almost got to just like
- 23:48pick what movie or what role he wanted from this.
- 23:51Like they just gave him a script and they're like, I don't know.
- 23:54You want to be an animal?
- 23:55And he was like, well, I won't be a gerbil or a guinea pig,
- 24:00because then they just want me to use my normal voice and I don't want to do that.
- 24:04So I'm just going to be the mole and I'm going to use a voice for that.
- 24:08And that'll be fun.
- 24:09And I'll just go up an octave.
- 24:11And that's that nodes.
- 24:16Well, it is interesting because my only I know he's been in the Croods movies,
- 24:19which I haven't seen, but my only other not yet.
- 24:22My only other example of him doing voiceover work is into the Spider-Verse.
- 24:28We just kind of does his own voice.
- 24:30It's kind of muffled. It's not really good.
- 24:33Maybe Nick Cage just isn't a good voice actor, but the voice is terrible,
- 24:37but it's a good performance with a terrible voice.
- 24:40Yeah. Yeah. I think he had enjoyed it.
- 24:42The second most fun in this movie.
- 24:45What the first Tracy Morgan.
- 24:47Yeah, for sure.
- 24:48It was Tracy Morgan's first voice acting role.
- 24:50No, it wasn't. Yeah.
- 24:52This kicked off his illustrious voice acting career. Yeah.
- 24:56All right. What do you guys think in terms of the Venn diagram in general?
- 25:00The Good Cage bad movie. Good Cage bad movie.
- 25:03It's Good Cage. Good movie for me.
- 25:06I did. I watched it twice.
- 25:08And I guess the least entertaining part was the action.
- 25:14Just the action sequences.
- 25:15Oh, my God. When they were driving around in those fucking three balls.
- 25:18God. Yeah. And somehow I'm supposed to believe that a fucking human car
- 25:24can't just run over it.
- 25:26If this was the only fucking fast
- 25:28for those things going that we've watched, I just I don't know about.
- 25:32I. Those are fastballs, man.
- 25:35I know I liked it because especially thinking about it
- 25:39from the perspective of its target audience.
- 25:43I do think it was a good movie because I know.
- 25:46I know many a child that would very much.
- 25:50I would have loved that movie as a kid.
- 25:51Yeah, including myself. Exactly.
- 25:53There were no boobs in this movie.
- 25:57They would not have held my attention.
- 25:59Very concerned if there were boobs in this movie.
- 26:01I don't know. I grew up on strikes.
- 26:04I did. I do want to say I did.
- 26:05I just put them away.
- 26:06It was it was enough just having there be
- 26:09sort of a romantic whole storyline between the guinea pigs at all.
- 26:14That was enough, including the part where she's like,
- 26:17but I like Darwin because he doesn't pay me any attention.
- 26:20And I was like, oh, girl.
- 26:22I know it's like teaching children to neg women.
- 26:26Yeah. From an early age.
- 26:27I'm sorry. But even if even if, you know, as an adult,
- 26:31you could have predicted the mole situation, which, again,
- 26:34I'm just going to say I didn't. But hey.
- 26:37And my prediction again was just me being shitty about a kid's movie.
- 26:41Well, yeah. So like the kids, of course, we're going to notice that.
- 26:44And that was I mean, I was I was surprised.
- 26:46I was like, oh, it's got a twist in it and everything.
- 26:49So I thought it was OK. I thought it was pretty all right.
- 26:51I was crushed to think that
- 26:55Nick Gage's character was crushed in a garbage truck.
- 26:59Yeah. But he survived by hiding in a can.
- 27:03Yeah. And that made me hate how he lived.
- 27:06It's like it's super actually kind of.
- 27:10Well, I don't hate it. It's just not an entree.
- 27:12So don't present it as an entree. Fair.
- 27:15So you're saying if there was a soup can for you to hide in
- 27:17and not get crushed by a trash compactor, you wouldn't.
- 27:20If find me a soup can that can withstand a trash compactor
- 27:24and also hold your body. Yeah.
- 27:26I mean, that's cool.
- 27:28I find me anything that will hold my body.
- 27:30The camel's chunky.
- 27:35Shay, thank you for being here again. Of course.
- 27:37Thanks for having me. I always I guess enjoy.
- 27:40It's a thing. It's a thing.
- 27:42I'm glad you bought me dinner.
- 27:44Peter only bought me dinner because I wasn't willing to accept sexual favors.
- 27:48It's true. Yeah.
- 27:49You went some. Wait, I could have been having dinner this whole time.
- 27:52You already ate that hot dog twice.
- 27:54So what are you going to do now?
- 27:55All right. Well, thank you all for listening.

- 28:27Sometimes I do the introduction off the dome.
- 28:30As you know.
- 28:31What people who listen to this thing.
- 28:34I'm shocked. Yeah.
- 28:36Yeah. Well, you didn't even explain it to them.
- 28:49No, no, I tried to, but I also was lazy.
- 28:52I was zero trying.
- 28:54These are the traits I love about our producer.
- 28:57Yeah. Oh, I started talking about G-Force.
- 29:01So it's.
- 29:02Dead. OK, so long and uncut.
- 29:08Just like my hot dogs.
- 29:11Wait, are you not circumcised?
- 29:13You've seen his dick.
- 29:15I have not seen his deck.
- 29:16What I have seen your deck.
- 29:17Yeah. We talk about it almost every episode.
- 29:21There's been a lot of moonlit dicks.
- 29:23We understand his was fire lit.
- 29:25Oh, yeah.
- 29:26That's actually the most appropriate way to look at my wiener.
- 29:29That's just a land moon.
- 29:31Lit fire is a land moon.
- 29:33Sure. OK.
- 29:36Tell me it's not.
- 29:36I don't think you understand how the moon works.
- 29:38Well, let me take my pants off and I'll show you the difference.
- 29:41There we go.
