- 0:00Speaker 1: Just before we get started, we'd like to acknowledge and
- 0:03Speaker 1: pay respect to Australia's Aboriginal and torrest Rate islander people's.
- 0:07Speaker 1: They're the traditional custodians of the lands, the waterways and
- 0:10Speaker 1: the skies all across Australia. We thank you for sharing
- 0:13Speaker 1: and for caring for the land.
- 0:15Speaker 2: On which we are able to learn.
- 0:17Speaker 1: We pay respects to elders past and present, and we
- 0:19Speaker 1: share our friendship and our kindness.
- 0:22Speaker 2: She's on the Money, She's on the Money. Hello, and
- 0:46Speaker 2: welcome to She's on the Money, the podcast for leales
- 0:48Speaker 2: who want financial freedom. Today's Friday, which means it's time
- 0:52Speaker 2: to sit back with the girls with a beve in hand,
- 0:54Speaker 2: to unpack our favorite moments from the week, and of
- 0:56Speaker 2: course to celebrate you the incredible She's on the Money community,
- 1:00Speaker 2: as always, will be sharing our money wins. And it's
- 1:03Speaker 2: just me and G this week, so know what that means.
- 1:06Speaker 2: It's time for G and JQ and A. We're back.
- 1:09Speaker 2: We're going to answer your questions. Nobody's fired us yet,
- 1:12Speaker 2: so it seems like going, well, where's Victoria today? Poor dog,
- 1:16Speaker 2: she's sick, so you've just got us. I'm very sorry,
- 1:19Speaker 2: but hopefully we can answer some cues, have a good
- 1:23Speaker 2: time and chat about the week that was exactly right.
- 1:25Speaker 3: No financial advice will be given, obviously, because we're just
- 1:28Speaker 3: two girls with big hearts, big dreams, but no financial qualifications.
- 1:32Speaker 2: So here we are, Jay Rick. What happened on Monday
- 1:35Speaker 2: this week? So this week's DIRIS was a really fun one.
- 1:38Speaker 2: When we got the briefing sheet from our producer, An
- 1:41Speaker 2: Lisa Victoria and I were both just like what it
- 1:44Speaker 2: was someone who had been working as an undercover cop.
- 1:47Speaker 2: Oh my god? Cool? Right, yeah, very very cool. She
- 1:51Speaker 2: had worked as an undercover cop for a number of
- 1:53Speaker 2: years and then took leave without pay because understandably, coming
- 1:56Speaker 2: back from that she had felt a little bit burnt out.
- 1:59Speaker 2: And in the inn trim she did a number of things.
- 2:02Speaker 2: She bought a van, traveled Australia, ran into a few
- 2:05Speaker 2: minor issues with that, including the van breaking down in
- 2:08Speaker 2: the middle of nowhere, right of passage. I feel, yeah,
- 2:10Speaker 2: I was gonna say, I don't know if anyone's ever
- 2:12Speaker 2: bought a van to travel Australia and not how to
- 2:14Speaker 2: break down, so classic. And then she started her own business,
- 2:17Speaker 2: which is really cool. So she's running that she's going
- 2:20Speaker 2: to take that full time, which is awesome to see.
- 2:23Speaker 2: You know that we're all about small beers here, so
- 2:25Speaker 2: we love to see that, and just some really cool
- 2:27Speaker 2: also insight into a job that I feel like you
- 2:29Speaker 2: never hear anything about. Yeah, did you get the goss?
- 2:32Speaker 3: Like?
- 2:32Speaker 2: Ask lots of interesting questions about it? We did. Obviously,
- 2:35Speaker 2: there are really significant limitations on what she could share
- 2:38Speaker 2: some of her I guess the cases that she were
- 2:40Speaker 2: involved in are still going through the court system and
- 2:44Speaker 2: I know, right, so not heaps of goss, but all
- 2:47Speaker 2: the rid of goss, so super duper interesting. I would
- 2:51Speaker 2: really recommend to listen as always, But gee, whatuld you
- 2:53Speaker 2: guys talk about? A Wednesday?
- 2:54Speaker 3: So this week Jay Rick, we discussed what to consider
- 2:58Speaker 3: when deciding whether to purchase property, if it's something you
- 3:01Speaker 3: should wait to do. So we spoke about things like inflation,
- 3:04Speaker 3: the grants that are currently available to first home buyers
- 3:06Speaker 3: all over the country, how houses compare to apartments as investments,
- 3:10Speaker 3: and we spoke about land and how that's usually the
- 3:12Speaker 3: most valuable asset in the whole home and land peace.
- 3:15Speaker 3: Oh yes, so it was. Yeah, it was really interesting.
- 3:18Speaker 3: But I feel like the moral of the story was
- 3:21Speaker 3: that basically, the best time to buy isn't determined by
- 3:24Speaker 3: the market, It's determined by when's right for you, much
- 3:26Speaker 3: like entering the share market. We can't read these things.
- 3:30Speaker 3: Things change. So yeah, it was just another good property chat.
- 3:33Speaker 3: But if you are someone who is interested in property,
- 3:35Speaker 3: we do have a whole Property Playbook podcast, so have
- 3:38Speaker 3: a listen to that as well as Wednesday's fabulous episode.
- 3:41Speaker 3: Oh my gosh, Yes, I am all about the property.
- 3:44Speaker 3: We love to know a little bit more. As you
- 3:46Speaker 3: guys know.
- 3:46Speaker 2: I'm super into it personally, and we know a lot
- 3:48Speaker 2: of you guys are as well, So definitely check that out.
- 3:50Speaker 2: Check out the Property Playbook, which we'll be coming back
- 3:52Speaker 2: for season two later this year. Very exciting. But any
- 3:55Speaker 2: what else is exciting? George King? Oh, segue the money way,
- 4:01Speaker 2: She's good, she's approach. She's done at four. Yes, the
- 4:03Speaker 2: budget direct money wins. We love to see them. What
- 4:06Speaker 2: have you got for me? Eation every week? All right?
- 4:07Speaker 3: The first one comes from June money Win. My daughter
- 4:10Speaker 3: was buying her first car and she had seven thousand
- 4:12Speaker 3: dollars in cold hard cash. The car we found that
- 4:16Speaker 3: was her favorite was eighty five hundred, so a little
- 4:19Speaker 3: out of the budget. But we offered seven thousand dollars
- 4:21Speaker 3: cash on the spot and she got it. She's asome
- 4:26Speaker 3: awesome win. The next win comes from Jakoder. After being
- 4:29Speaker 3: unemployed for two months, I took a bunch needed break
- 4:32Speaker 3: for my mental health. I start a new job today
- 4:34Speaker 3: in a government role. It's a thirty dollar hourly rate
- 4:37Speaker 3: plus super, which is pretty good for a twenty year old.
- 4:40Speaker 3: It's four month contracts, but I think I'll smash this one,
- 4:42Speaker 3: and I'm hoping they extend my contract. Well it's done,
- 4:45Speaker 3: Jay Coder, good luck. The next win here Jay comes
- 4:49Speaker 3: from Jane. After noticing that our car insurances have gone
- 4:52Speaker 3: up thirty dollars a month for each car, two cars
- 4:55Speaker 3: and never making a claim, I finally got a chance
- 4:58Speaker 3: to try and shop around for some new quotes. I
- 5:00Speaker 3: eventually managed to secure some that are fifty dollars a
- 5:03Speaker 3: month cheaper for each car than what we were about
- 5:05Speaker 3: to pay. Yes, it took lots of time, emails, phone calls,
- 5:08Speaker 3: but the savings in the long run are worth it.
- 5:11Speaker 2: I feel like Victoria would approve with that. Oh my gosh,
- 5:13Speaker 2: that's such a good one. And if you're someone who
- 5:14Speaker 2: gets nervous on the phone. We have that handy dandy
- 5:17Speaker 2: guide on the ses and the money website on how
- 5:18Speaker 2: to snag yourself a better deal with your car, your phone,
- 5:21Speaker 2: anything you're paying a lot for because they jack up
- 5:24Speaker 2: the price and hope that you don't.
- 5:26Speaker 3: Say anything, and most people don't. Yeah, so says funny Phone.
- 5:29Speaker 3: The next week, it comes from Nicola money Win. I
- 5:32Speaker 3: was due for some new gym shoes, but have recently
- 5:34Speaker 3: spent a little too much money on post breakup retail therapy.
- 5:38Speaker 3: We hear you, Nicola. I hope you're doing okay. But
- 5:40Speaker 3: it was my birthday last week and I got a
- 5:42Speaker 3: fifty dollar vouch of for The Iconic from my cousin
- 5:44Speaker 3: plus a twenty percent off birthday code from the Iconic.
- 5:47Speaker 3: This meant I was able to get a one hundred
- 5:49Speaker 3: dollar pair of new balanced shoes for thirty dollars instead
- 5:52Speaker 3: of one hundred amazing.
- 5:54Speaker 2: I love the Iconic. In this office, we do, we don't.
- 5:57Speaker 3: And the next win comes from Kiri Lee money Win.
- 5:59Speaker 3: I finally reach my goal of a three thousand dollar
- 6:01Speaker 3: emergency fund as a chronic explourge art. This is a
- 6:04Speaker 3: huge deal for me. I've also saved twenty nine dollars
- 6:07Speaker 3: ninety four just from roundups, which is going towards my
- 6:10Speaker 3: travel fund so I can go overseas next year. Each
- 6:13Speaker 3: and every little bit counts. Love that Jamie is our
- 6:16Speaker 3: next win here. I applied for a job that I
- 6:18Speaker 3: didn't meet all of the criteria for and I still
- 6:20Speaker 3: got it. I just tripled my income and I'm so
- 6:23Speaker 3: excited to start.
- 6:24Speaker 2: How good's the hack crippled? That is wild?
- 6:28Speaker 3: And we love to see the ladies applying for jobs
- 6:31Speaker 3: that they maybe aren't as qualified for because we know
- 6:34Speaker 3: men love to do that. Yeah, so we should have
- 6:36Speaker 3: a shame exactly right. The next win hit Jess comes
- 6:39Speaker 3: from Imagen. Lost for today, but a huge win for
- 6:41Speaker 3: future me. I went to a financial advisor for my insurances.
- 6:44Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 6:45Speaker 3: She's on the money for suggesting an amazing one. I
- 6:48Speaker 3: thought my life insurance within my super was enough, but
- 6:50Speaker 3: now I can rest easy with TPD trauma income and
- 6:54Speaker 3: life insurance that's personalized to me, all for far less
- 6:58Speaker 3: than I was expecting. I'm starting to feel like a
- 7:00Speaker 3: financially secure adult.
- 7:02Speaker 2: Yeah, queen, And if you do need an advisor again,
- 7:06Speaker 2: not plug website, but we have a form on there
- 7:08Speaker 2: you can fill out, give us all of your information
- 7:10Speaker 2: and we will find you the person who is the
- 7:12Speaker 2: right fit for you. Because you're painful. It can be
- 7:14Speaker 2: really overwhelming, I think, trying to find the right person
- 7:17Speaker 2: and are they nice and do they get me? And
- 7:19Speaker 2: are they going to judge me? So we have a
- 7:21Speaker 2: network of people that we really love and really appreciate
- 7:23Speaker 2: and recommend if you are looking for someone. And one
- 7:26Speaker 2: of our advisors obviously did my insurances and they were fantastic.
- 7:30Speaker 2: So can't say enough good things. Amazing.
- 7:32Speaker 3: The last win here just is from Yona. On the
- 7:35Speaker 3: one year and one week anniversary of me returning to
- 7:38Speaker 3: work from Matt leave, I was told that I had
- 7:41Speaker 3: been successful in securing a higher role at my work.
- 7:44Speaker 3: This will be my third pay rise slash level up
- 7:46Speaker 3: since returning to work, while my spending has remained the same.
- 7:50Speaker 3: I'm looking forward to smashing down my debt faster and
- 7:52Speaker 3: on a personal win level, I'm so grateful that I've
- 7:55Speaker 3: been able to start a family while still progressing my
- 7:58Speaker 3: career and staying on top of my fone and answers. Oh.
- 8:00Speaker 2: I love that God as days where women have to
- 8:03Speaker 2: choose between a family or their career. You really can
- 8:05Speaker 2: have it all. Well, it has been great celebrating some
- 8:07Speaker 2: of your budget Direct money wins with you this week,
- 8:10Speaker 2: but for award winning insurance Search budget Direct, Budget Direct
- 8:13Speaker 2: Insurance Solved stunning. Shall we go to a little break, JR.
- 8:16Speaker 2: Let's do it clean? Alrighty, we're back. It's time for
- 8:24Speaker 2: the G and JQ and A. Here we are again.
- 8:26Speaker 2: I'm so excited. I wish we had a jingle, La
- 8:28Speaker 2: la la la. Maybe we could work on one. We
- 8:32Speaker 2: don't do it often enough. I don't think to warrant
- 8:34Speaker 2: our own intro. But that's okay. Just imagine, George, I'm
- 8:37Speaker 2: going to come in hot with a question we get
- 8:39Speaker 2: all the time because you're not always in the office.
- 8:41Speaker 2: It's true, and people go, where's Georgia Gun? She's been fired?
- 8:45Speaker 2: We would simply never, absolutely not. But George, what is
- 8:49Speaker 2: your other job do you tell about?
- 8:51Speaker 3: It's bless everyone for being curious. Everyone, No one is
- 8:55Speaker 3: of three people are so when I'm not at She's
- 8:58Speaker 3: on the money, I at Fox Sports. I hilariously am
- 9:04Speaker 3: a social media producer.
- 9:06Speaker 2: Do you mean hilarious?
- 9:07Speaker 1: Well?
- 9:07Speaker 2: Longtime listeners to the pod will know that social media
- 9:10Speaker 2: and George are not the best of friends.
- 9:13Speaker 3: But it's less about you know, pretending your life is
- 9:16Speaker 3: that which you do not lead, and it's more about
- 9:18Speaker 3: promoting the company. And I work mainly at Fox Footy,
- 9:23Speaker 3: so you know, cutting clips of the games, writing snappy captions, all.
- 9:27Speaker 2: Of that kind of jazz.
- 9:28Speaker 3: You love your sports, but I do, yeah, which people
- 9:31Speaker 3: find surprising as well. I don't know why I'm a
- 9:33Speaker 3: sporty woman. So yeah, that's what I do when I'm
- 9:36Speaker 3: not at STOM. So I'm a busy gal, but love
- 9:40Speaker 3: each and every day of my life.
- 9:42Speaker 2: Yep, moving on. You sounded like you really meant that
- 9:46Speaker 2: as well. Speaking of the office, someone asked what is
- 9:49Speaker 2: your dream office item? And I don't know why, but
- 9:51Speaker 2: I really liked that question, Like, if you're going to
- 9:53Speaker 2: put one thing in an office, our office, theoretically, what
- 9:56Speaker 2: would it be.
- 9:57Speaker 3: Well, I feel like the She's on the Money office
- 9:59Speaker 3: is all already quite the dream office.
- 10:01Speaker 2: We've got the gorgeous artwork.
- 10:03Speaker 3: V was telling me the other week about some electric
- 10:05Speaker 3: blankets you guys have installed. You have electric blankets and
- 10:08Speaker 3: your chairs. But the dream office item, I mean probably
- 10:13Speaker 3: just like a really snazzy espresso machine.
- 10:17Speaker 2: I'm basic, but yeah, yeah, there's one of them upstairs
- 10:20Speaker 2: that you do have to walk up two piunds of
- 10:21Speaker 2: stairs or take an elevator to get there, which is
- 10:24Speaker 2: arguably true.
- 10:24Speaker 3: Who's got the time? Yeah, how would you answer that question?
- 10:27Speaker 3: I really would love a slurpy machine. Oh okay, because
- 10:30Speaker 3: I don't drink coffee. If you used to tell a shit,
- 10:32Speaker 3: you know, I'm a hot chucky gal. But to be honest,
- 10:34Speaker 3: I don't drink them all that often. But there's good
- 10:36Speaker 3: slurpy machines and bad slurpy machines, Like you know how
- 10:38Speaker 3: you can get the at Kmart. You can get like
- 10:42Speaker 3: churro and popcorn, and I'm pretty sure they have an
- 10:44Speaker 3: ice icy maker.
- 10:46Speaker 2: Not great, not the same. No, Like, I love like
- 10:48Speaker 2: a seven eleven coke slurpy with raspberry mixed in layers, layers, layers,
- 10:53Speaker 2: right raspberry on the top. This could excite you. My
- 10:57Speaker 2: family used to have a slurpy shit actual proper. My
- 11:01Speaker 2: dad likes to buy silly, silly things that no one needs.
- 11:05Speaker 2: I know, we bought it for like someone's eighteenth or something,
- 11:07Speaker 2: and it.
- 11:07Speaker 3: Was so cool and we'd put like vodka in there, yes,
- 11:11Speaker 3: but it's no longer with us so.
- 11:14Speaker 2: Maine. Oh my god, that's very cool. I didn't even
- 11:17Speaker 2: know that you could get like big proper ones. You
- 11:19Speaker 2: really can. Let me hit you with a financi question
- 11:22Speaker 2: so people don't turn off the podcast. Sure, someone asked
- 11:26Speaker 2: either of you opened property investing, why or why not?
- 11:30Speaker 3: M I mean I certainly would be if I had
- 11:34Speaker 3: the money. I guess we've seen over time how much
- 11:38Speaker 3: property does grow over over the journey. I mean currently
- 11:42Speaker 3: if we look at how expensive.
- 11:46Speaker 2: Exactly.
- 11:47Speaker 3: But I can't see myself ever really getting in there
- 11:49Speaker 3: beyond having my own home.
- 11:51Speaker 2: But who knows? What about you, j Rick? I would
- 11:53Speaker 2: love to. I think it's interesting because property investment is
- 11:56Speaker 2: quite contentious. I've noticed with some people being like it's
- 12:00Speaker 2: the only way to build wealth and some people being like,
- 12:03Speaker 2: screw the landlords, they're all assholes. It's really polarizing, which
- 12:07Speaker 2: I didn't anticipate it ever, being I've only ever had
- 12:10Speaker 2: relatively good experiences with my landlords. We're in our current place,
- 12:13Speaker 2: we've been there three years. They haven't raised the rent once,
- 12:15Speaker 2: haven't even mentioned it. You know. I think that you
- 12:18Speaker 2: can definitely be a landlord without being a jerk. Just
- 12:23Speaker 2: people need to rent property, and I mean if that
- 12:26Speaker 2: money is going to an individual rather than a big corporation,
- 12:29Speaker 2: I'm not mad about it, as long as they're obviously
- 12:31Speaker 2: not doing the wrong thing or discriminating or making your
- 12:34Speaker 2: life really hard. But yeah, same as you, I am
- 12:37Speaker 2: prioritizing personally an owner occupied property. I want to live
- 12:42Speaker 2: in a home. That's what I want in an ideal world.
- 12:46Speaker 2: That home isn't my for over home, and when I
- 12:48Speaker 2: move to the next one, I'd love to be able
- 12:49Speaker 2: to keep it as an investment, but it's all going
- 12:51Speaker 2: to depend on financing exactly what everything looks like down
- 12:55Speaker 2: the track, So absolutely into it whether or not I
- 12:58Speaker 2: can afford it. Hold different kettle of Joe, Rick, I
- 13:01Speaker 2: have a question for you.
- 13:03Speaker 3: My girl Kate has asked how your house buying journey
- 13:07Speaker 3: is going.
- 13:07Speaker 2: Where are we at? Not much further along than we
- 13:10Speaker 2: were last time. I was asked for being okay, tell me, like,
- 13:13Speaker 2: what are the hold ups? What do we go?
- 13:14Speaker 3: So?
- 13:15Speaker 2: I am looking to build because for the grants that
- 13:18Speaker 2: I qualify for, I need to move into a brand
- 13:22Speaker 2: new property and in the area I'm looking at purchasing
- 13:25Speaker 2: a brand new, pre built property versus building your own,
- 13:29Speaker 2: costs are pretty much same same, So I figured I
- 13:32Speaker 2: might as well build and get exactly what I want,
- 13:35Speaker 2: rather than purchasing something and needing to make some cosmetic changes.
- 13:38Speaker 2: But turns out Land is growing at an exponential rate
- 13:42Speaker 2: in terms of value, and so I'm looking at an
- 13:45Speaker 2: area quite far outside the city. I had a mortgage
- 13:48Speaker 2: broker say to me, maybe you should set your expectations
- 13:50Speaker 2: a little bit lower, and I was like, so, like,
- 13:52Speaker 2: I'm looking an hour outside little city. Yeah. Yeah, it
- 13:54Speaker 2: was a male. He also told me I probably should
- 13:57Speaker 2: maybe think about getting a boyfriend. Jokes on, he might
- 13:59Speaker 2: already have one, choking. Yeah, funnily enough, not my broker anymore.
- 14:05Speaker 2: But so, yeah, it's really hard because I'm trying to
- 14:07Speaker 2: do it by myself. So I can only get a
- 14:10Speaker 2: certain amount of money, and it's a pretty good amount
- 14:11Speaker 2: of money that I qualify for. I have a good deposit.
- 14:14Speaker 2: But Land, even since I started kind of looking into things,
- 14:18Speaker 2: you know, six to twelve months ago, has grown in
- 14:21Speaker 2: value so quickly, and it's so expensive, and it's really
- 14:24Speaker 2: disheartening when I go, Okay, well, I can afford the
- 14:27Speaker 2: land or I can afford to put a house on it,
- 14:29Speaker 2: but right now I can't really do both. Hich is
- 14:32Speaker 2: really sad. If I'm being honest, It's not very fun
- 14:36Speaker 2: to go, Oh my god, I thought I was ready,
- 14:38Speaker 2: I thought I was there, I was all set to go,
- 14:39Speaker 2: and then it feels like the goalpost has just moved.
- 14:42Speaker 2: And I'm sure I'm not the only person feeling that way.
- 14:44Speaker 2: It's really tough right now. But yeah, so kind of
- 14:48Speaker 2: just still keeping in touch with my current broker, who
- 14:51Speaker 2: is incredible. She's one of our brokers and she literally
- 14:54Speaker 2: is the best. So at the moment, I'm just kind
- 14:56Speaker 2: of keeping an eye on land prices, hoping to maybe
- 15:00Speaker 2: see a bit of a shift, but also like not
- 15:02Speaker 2: getting my hoops up too far because I feel like
- 15:04Speaker 2: that's kind of what I did and now I'm feeling
- 15:07Speaker 2: a little bit sad.
- 15:07Speaker 3: Okay, So why building rather than just buying an existing property.
- 15:12Speaker 2: It is because of like that cost thing a right, Like,
- 15:15Speaker 2: so it's the same like if I was looking to
- 15:17Speaker 2: purchase a new property in the area that I'm looking in,
- 15:20Speaker 2: it would cost me about the same, okay, And so
- 15:22Speaker 2: that's the thing is I'm like, well, if it's going
- 15:24Speaker 2: to cost me the same. Yeah, you know, I would
- 15:26Speaker 2: rather just have it be the way that I want.
- 15:28Speaker 2: As you guys know, I'm a little bit picky if
- 15:30Speaker 2: your lifestyle like and so I was like, even if
- 15:33Speaker 2: I did purchase something established, I would be more than
- 15:35Speaker 2: likely making changes to it, which is fine, happy to
- 15:38Speaker 2: do it. Oh my god, I'd actually love to run
- 15:40Speaker 2: a property. That would be so much fun. But yeah,
- 15:44Speaker 2: I was kind of like, well, I might as well build,
- 15:46Speaker 2: Like if a property came up established and I am
- 15:48Speaker 2: keeping an eye on it for the right price, would
- 15:50Speaker 2: be more than helpy to jump in that way. But yeah,
- 15:53Speaker 2: it's kind of just at the moment. I can't have
- 15:56Speaker 2: want anything.
- 15:58Speaker 3: You don't j here's a lovely question from Lisa. How
- 16:03Speaker 3: can I try and not compare my financial lack of
- 16:06Speaker 3: success with others' success?
- 16:08Speaker 2: Oh? Good one coming off the back of that, Oh
- 16:10Speaker 2: very nice. I think you know what, You're allowed on
- 16:14Speaker 2: some level to compare yourself, because I think it's easier
- 16:18Speaker 2: said than done to say, just don't look at what
- 16:20Speaker 2: other people are doing. Run your own race. In theory perfection,
- 16:23Speaker 2: but in practice it's not gonna happen. Not in the
- 16:26Speaker 2: day and age that we live in where everyone's sharing,
- 16:29Speaker 2: you know, their wins online, wins in the Facebook group,
- 16:32Speaker 2: Instagram whatever. It can be hard, and like I've fallen
- 16:36Speaker 2: into that trap. I know a lot of other people
- 16:37Speaker 2: who have. But I think just giving yourself a moment
- 16:40Speaker 2: and being like their success or them being successful doesn't
- 16:44Speaker 2: mean that I can't be as well. Like, just because
- 16:46Speaker 2: you've achieved your dream doesn't mean that there's no room
- 16:49Speaker 2: for me to achieve mine. And I think as well,
- 16:52Speaker 2: just recognizing that priorities have shifted. You know, like twenty
- 16:56Speaker 2: years ago, yeah, you'd have bought a house by the
- 16:58Speaker 2: age of twenty one. Also, if you're a woman, you
- 17:02Speaker 2: probably weren't having a career. You probably maybe twenty years
- 17:05Speaker 2: is a bit long, but you know, fifty years ago,
- 17:07Speaker 2: let's say there are a lot of things that we
- 17:09Speaker 2: weren't able to do. So it's kind of like a
- 17:11Speaker 2: give and go, Like we have things and opportunities today
- 17:13Speaker 2: that we didn't back then, but that also means that
- 17:15Speaker 2: some of the opportunities that people had back then don't exist,
- 17:19Speaker 2: if that makes sense. So true, Yeah, yeah, what do
- 17:21Speaker 2: you reckon? Like do you deal with that as well?
- 17:23Speaker 3: A little bit, not necessarily in a financial sense, but
- 17:27Speaker 3: it's something I struggle with career wise. I would say,
- 17:31Speaker 3: and I think you just need to remind yourself of
- 17:33Speaker 3: why you're doing what you're doing and write down your
- 17:36Speaker 3: own goals, especially from a financial perspective, I would write
- 17:41Speaker 3: down what you want to achieve and focus on that
- 17:45Speaker 3: and break it down as well. Like smaller goals, you
- 17:47Speaker 3: can tick them off along the way. We always say
- 17:49Speaker 3: that it ches on the money. It's that way of
- 17:51Speaker 3: kind of feeling the celebration along the way to your
- 17:55Speaker 3: larger goals instead of yeah, comparing yourself to what other
- 18:00Speaker 3: people are doing, because they're probably looking at you in
- 18:02Speaker 3: some way and being like, oh gosh, like look at her,
- 18:05Speaker 3: she's killing it at work. Sure, like you might not
- 18:07Speaker 3: feel that yourself, but other people are always looking at you.
- 18:10Speaker 2: Yeah. I think we need to remember that we.
- 18:13Speaker 3: Are the people that we see all of our flaws
- 18:16Speaker 3: and we fixate on them, but we don't necessarily see
- 18:18Speaker 3: or celebrate the best things about ourselves which everyone else sees.
- 18:22Speaker 3: So I think that's important to remember too, Like we
- 18:26Speaker 3: need to be much kinder to ourselves. Something Victoria would
- 18:29Speaker 3: say if she was here, And I don't know, treat
- 18:31Speaker 3: yourself the way you treat others and celebrate yourself a
- 18:33Speaker 3: little bit.
- 18:34Speaker 2: Yeah, you're running your own race exactly. There's no timeline
- 18:38Speaker 2: on things, I think as much as you. I remember
- 18:40Speaker 2: when I was like sixteen years old, I was like, Yep,
- 18:42Speaker 2: I'm going to be married at twenty and I'll have
- 18:44Speaker 2: a house at twenty one, and then I'll have a
- 18:45Speaker 2: baby at twenty two. Yep. And now I'm nearly twenty eight,
- 18:48Speaker 2: and I'm like, excuse me, Like those things all seem
- 18:51Speaker 2: so far away. Yeah, yeah, don't put timelines on things
- 18:55Speaker 2: that don't need to have timelines.
- 18:57Speaker 3: I think that's probably a very female thing as well,
- 19:00Speaker 3: because of the whole biological clock that we believe is
- 19:04Speaker 3: a tick in. But we need to give ourselves a break,
- 19:07Speaker 3: I think, because there's plenty of time, and there's plenty
- 19:10Speaker 3: of opportunity, and we're not battling against each other. What
- 19:14Speaker 3: does they always say, A rising tide lifts all ships.
- 19:17Speaker 3: Let's work together, let's back each other, so instead of
- 19:19Speaker 3: comparing ourselves.
- 19:20Speaker 2: I love that question. Answered it on that note. Somebody asked,
- 19:26Speaker 2: what do you guys do for self care when you're
- 19:28Speaker 2: stressed out? Love you girls. Oh love you too, Nny.
- 19:32Speaker 2: What do you do, George? Do you love a little
- 19:33Speaker 2: self Camo? Absolutely? I do.
- 19:36Speaker 3: J Rik, I keep it pretty simple. I love a walk,
- 19:39Speaker 3: I love a bath. I love a good podcast. I
- 19:42Speaker 3: kind of keep a backlog of my favorites to access
- 19:46Speaker 3: on those days when I am feeling a little rough.
- 19:48Speaker 2: So these are all free.
- 19:49Speaker 3: By the way, She's on the Money Connection, So anyone
- 19:52Speaker 3: who reads the newsletter actually will know that I'm obsessed
- 19:55Speaker 3: with Dolly Olderton. Yes, everything that woman says makes me
- 19:59Speaker 3: sm makes me laugh, So I'll literally I'll listen to
- 20:02Speaker 3: a podcast I've listened to a thousand times by her.
- 20:05Speaker 2: And it just lifts my spirits.
- 20:06Speaker 3: Yeah, and I also love face masks.
- 20:09Speaker 2: Who doesn't doesn't. What do you do for self care?
- 20:11Speaker 2: Jay Rick? I am one of those people who has
- 20:15Speaker 2: to be doing something Like even if I'm relaxing, my
- 20:19Speaker 2: hands need to be busy or my brain is busy.
- 20:21Speaker 2: That would sound very not relaxing, I think to a
- 20:23Speaker 2: lot of people. But so like, I love to just
- 20:26Speaker 2: chuck on a TV series or a movie like I'm
- 20:29Speaker 2: all about that in the background, and then I'll be
- 20:32Speaker 2: working on something with my hands. I love a crafty moment.
- 20:34Speaker 2: You do if you're like me and you need something
- 20:36Speaker 2: to keep your brain busy or your hands busy, but
- 20:40Speaker 2: not necessarily your brain. I've started doing diamond cross sorry.
- 20:47Speaker 2: So they're like these it's like color by numbers but
- 20:50Speaker 2: with like little sticky diamond things. I need to google this.
- 20:55Speaker 2: Please do diamond craft. Yeah, you can get them from
- 20:57Speaker 2: km up for literally like five dollars. But they're really fun.
- 21:02Speaker 2: It's such a silly thing and then you get this
- 21:04Speaker 2: really pretty like piece of art that you can put
- 21:06Speaker 2: somewhere or do something with. And for someone like me
- 21:09Speaker 2: who just needs to be occupied, it's really stress really mean. Yeah,
- 21:14Speaker 2: do you see what I mean?
- 21:14Speaker 3: I see what you mean, because it's kind of like
- 21:16Speaker 3: an active mindfulness, like you're focusing on that that alone,
- 21:19Speaker 3: your mind's not wondering.
- 21:20Speaker 2: You put coloring books. I think you're the same kind
- 21:22Speaker 2: of bar. Yeah, I don't know what it is. There's
- 21:24Speaker 2: something just very very satisfying about that. So, oh my gosh,
- 21:27Speaker 2: there's an alsa one. I love Frozen. When's your birthday?
- 21:31Speaker 2: I want to get your fire. Funny side note. After
- 21:35Speaker 2: our Melbourne event, which was back in March, it was
- 21:38Speaker 2: a really big morning. So our team had been up
- 21:40Speaker 2: since five in the morning. I think we wrapped up
- 21:42Speaker 2: at like eleven thirty ish, and V had head to
- 21:45Speaker 2: an event and I was going to meet her back
- 21:47Speaker 2: at the hotel. So I was so tired. I'm an
- 21:50Speaker 2: intro if you couldn't tell by my love of Diamondcraft,
- 21:53Speaker 2: and so I was like, I just need a little
- 21:55Speaker 2: time to relax. So I ordered some room service and
- 21:57Speaker 2: went to put on a movie, and I really wanted
- 21:59Speaker 2: to watch Frozen, but they didn't have it, so I
- 22:02Speaker 2: instead paid twenty five dollars to watch Frozen two. While
- 22:07Speaker 2: I ate Chip. Still, it's an act of self care.
- 22:09Speaker 2: I support you. There you go. I wish out of
- 22:11Speaker 2: a Diamondcraft with me. You mentioned the Newsy before someone
- 22:14Speaker 2: asked what's your favorite budget meal? Love all of Geeking's
- 22:18Speaker 2: food recos e lad. If you're not getting the newslettering,
- 22:21Speaker 2: you're missing out because George has her own personal little
- 22:24Speaker 2: spot in there where she gives you a recommendation every week,
- 22:26Speaker 2: which quite frequently is food. Yeah, it certainly is.
- 22:30Speaker 3: Last week it was trying on perfume at Mecha and
- 22:32Speaker 3: then leaven because it's for free. Anyway, favorite budget recipes.
- 22:38Speaker 2: Was that the question? Yeah? Or meal? I mean, you
- 22:40Speaker 2: can't go.
- 22:41Speaker 3: Past the pasta because it is cheap and it is
- 22:45Speaker 3: always delicious. My favorite meal when I was living with
- 22:48Speaker 3: Victoria's little sister, Devo, and she thought I was disgustin,
- 22:51Speaker 3: was just a jar of pesto.
- 22:55Speaker 2: What's that? Two three dollars?
- 22:56Speaker 3: Yep, maybe four dollars in this economy, a two dollar
- 22:59Speaker 3: bag of parts combine, add some choy tomatoes for some freshness,
- 23:04Speaker 3: maybe a handful of spinach.
- 23:08Speaker 2: It seems like Devo is quite fancy. Yeah, so she
- 23:12Speaker 2: judged me a little bit. Devo, if you're listening, how
- 23:14Speaker 2: are you? So that's always a good one. But I
- 23:17Speaker 2: guess that is quiet basic.
- 23:19Speaker 3: I would also say the dumplings that I've popped in
- 23:22Speaker 3: the news, Yeah, they're amazing. I'll pop them in this
- 23:25Speaker 3: week as well, So if anyone doesn't know what I'm
- 23:27Speaker 3: talking about, you can refer to that.
- 23:29Speaker 2: I love that. Someone asked book recommendations financial otherwise you
- 23:34Speaker 2: got any that you're reading currently? I mean, she's On
- 23:36Speaker 2: the Money by Victoria Devine. It's an excellent finance book.
- 23:39Speaker 3: But beyond that finance, She's On the Money's second book,
- 23:43Speaker 3: investing book.
- 23:43Speaker 2: It's out for pre order.
- 23:44Speaker 3: Yes, get your little myths on that. It's all about investing,
- 23:47Speaker 3: so you cannot wait to see. But outside of the
- 23:50Speaker 3: Shees on the Money universe, George, what are you reading?
- 23:52Speaker 2: Okay?
- 23:52Speaker 3: I've read two immaculate books this year. Actually, actually, like
- 23:56Speaker 3: so many. I've really gotten back into reading. But yeah,
- 23:58Speaker 3: top two would be The Paye the Palace. I think
- 24:01Speaker 3: her name was Miranda Cowley someone. Anyway, everyone read that
- 24:04Speaker 3: over the summer. It's a beautiful kind of love story.
- 24:07Speaker 3: It's a beat tread, but it's so much more than
- 24:10Speaker 3: a beach tread. I feel like that's almost a dismissive
- 24:12Speaker 3: thing to say about often like female literature. So it's
- 24:16Speaker 3: not a beat trade. It's an excellent read. And also
- 24:19Speaker 3: Love and Virtue. That was probably it's one of the
- 24:22Speaker 3: best books I've ever read. The woman who wrote it
- 24:25Speaker 3: is only like twenty years old or something.
- 24:27Speaker 2: That's so impressive.
- 24:28Speaker 3: It discusses themes of consent in a really really nuanced,
- 24:32Speaker 3: clever way that is not at all patronizing, I would say,
- 24:37Speaker 3: or too confronting. So I would really recommend that have
- 24:42Speaker 3: you read any good ones this year?
- 24:44Speaker 2: Jack? I was dreading. When I asked you this question,
- 24:46Speaker 2: I realized you'd ask me about I was kind of
- 24:48Speaker 2: dreading it because my taste in books is not sophistical,
- 24:53Speaker 2: taking the Twilight saga close to I like, I like
- 24:58Speaker 2: ya or young adult fiction, and I like like a dystopian,
- 25:03Speaker 2: like a Hunger Games or nothing. Today's run up. Look,
- 25:07Speaker 2: I feel like I'm kind of at the point now
- 25:08Speaker 2: where I say I like ya and people are like,
- 25:10Speaker 2: bestI You're a little bit old that I mentioned Hung Games.
- 25:14Speaker 2: I loved the Hunger Games books. I thought they were immaculate,
- 25:17Speaker 2: and the movies were also really quite good. But they
- 25:19Speaker 2: did a prequel for the Hunger Games, which did you
- 25:21Speaker 2: read the series when you are? But I loved the movies.
- 25:24Speaker 2: They were really really well done. And the thing that
- 25:27Speaker 2: I liked about the prequel is it was set with
- 25:30Speaker 2: do you remember President Snow, the evil dude? Yes, it
- 25:32Speaker 2: was his youth, and so it was a little bit
- 25:35Speaker 2: of his origin story, and I'm hoping that there will
- 25:37Speaker 2: be more. It's been out for a little while now.
- 25:39Speaker 2: I smashed it in like two or three days, and
- 25:40Speaker 2: if I'm being honest, I don't read a whole lot
- 25:43Speaker 2: lately because I'm just busy and I don't make time
- 25:45Speaker 2: for it, so for me to devour it so quickly.
- 25:48Speaker 2: If anyone else likes that same genre of book, I
- 25:50Speaker 2: would really recommend it. It was so well done, and I
- 25:53Speaker 2: hope that there's another one. Have you heard of the
- 25:55Speaker 2: Harry Potter.
- 25:56Speaker 3: Series, because I've got a feeling it is right up
- 25:59Speaker 3: your ellie my, Oh thank you?
- 26:00Speaker 2: Check them out? Yes please? We also have jay Rich.
- 26:03Speaker 3: Just on the book topic. We will move back to
- 26:05Speaker 3: money shortly on the Deep Dive episode. We will be
- 26:08Speaker 3: talking about the five financial Books that Will Change Your Life.
- 26:10Speaker 3: But it's coming out in the next couple of weeks,
- 26:12Speaker 3: so yeah, I have a listened to that one for sure. Jayrik,
- 26:16Speaker 3: you very rudely are about to hop to Europe, you
- 26:19Speaker 3: lucky duck. One of the questions here is how to
- 26:22Speaker 3: budget for a holiday? What tips and tricks do you
- 26:25Speaker 3: have for the girlies?
- 26:26Speaker 2: Oh maybe this is almost a full podcast topic in
- 26:29Speaker 2: and of itself now that everyone's getting back on the plane,
- 26:31Speaker 2: which is so nice to see. I think finding room
- 26:35Speaker 2: to reprioritize in your budget if you're not always saving
- 26:38Speaker 2: for holiday. So obviously we're just come off the back
- 26:40Speaker 2: of COVID, and normally i'd kind of have some savings
- 26:43Speaker 2: set aside for holidays, whereas i'd kind of reallocated it.
- 26:46Speaker 2: After two years, I was like that money can be
- 26:48Speaker 2: better put to work. So if you don't have a
- 26:50Speaker 2: fund that you're kind of constantly putting into, I think
- 26:53Speaker 2: reprioritizing your spending. So like for me personally, I think
- 26:57Speaker 2: I've said before, I break my budget down really, you know, minutely,
- 27:02Speaker 2: and so I have like a fund each month for
- 27:03Speaker 2: clothing and a fund each month for shoes, So it's
- 27:06Speaker 2: kind of easy to go, okay, well, that money can
- 27:08Speaker 2: be pulled because that's not a need and reallocated to
- 27:12Speaker 2: the holiday budget. The other thing I would say, particularly
- 27:15Speaker 2: right now, and this is the boat that I found
- 27:17Speaker 2: myself in because it was a little bit of a
- 27:18Speaker 2: spontaneous trip, like we were just kind of taking advantage of,
- 27:21Speaker 2: you know, some sales that we're on on flights and
- 27:23Speaker 2: things like that, is if it's within your means, obviously,
- 27:28Speaker 2: do not go into debt for a holiday. It's not
- 27:29Speaker 2: worth it in my opinion. But also be gentle on yourself.
- 27:33Speaker 2: And so if you need to go, okay, well this month,
- 27:36Speaker 2: I'm going to put a little bit less into my
- 27:38Speaker 2: long term savings. It's actually okay to do that. And
- 27:42Speaker 2: I think going back to that thing where you were saying,
- 27:44Speaker 2: oh my gosh, we have such clear goals, and you know,
- 27:46Speaker 2: we're comparing ourselves to others. So for me, the month
- 27:49Speaker 2: that we go away, I'll be putting just a little
- 27:51Speaker 2: bit less money into my house deposit it out. And
- 27:54Speaker 2: I'm not being mad at myself for that. I'm just
- 27:57Speaker 2: kind of going, hey, like, this trip for me is
- 28:00Speaker 2: something that's really important, and it's going to be a
- 28:02Speaker 2: chance to make good memories and see places that I've
- 28:04Speaker 2: never seen, and I value that. So for me, it
- 28:07Speaker 2: is worth adjusting my goals slightly just for the short term,
- 28:12Speaker 2: or to dip into my emergency funds if I needed to,
- 28:14Speaker 2: because I have a pretty significant emergency fund, knowing that
- 28:17Speaker 2: I'm going to replenish that money or make it up
- 28:19Speaker 2: down the track. Because George, like you're like me, like
- 28:22Speaker 2: you love to travel, right, and I think that it's
- 28:26Speaker 2: not a need absolutely, like you know, don't put that
- 28:28Speaker 2: above other necessities, but there is a lot of value
- 28:31Speaker 2: to be had, I think from that, right, And.
- 28:34Speaker 3: Like when you're on your deathbed and you look back,
- 28:37Speaker 3: will you be like, man, I got into the housing
- 28:40Speaker 3: market six months earlier, or I went on an epic holiday,
- 28:44Speaker 3: made memories and friendships to last lifetime.
- 28:47Speaker 2: Et cetera. Like what's more important? I think that we
- 28:50Speaker 2: all know and if you're traveling in a group, like
- 28:52Speaker 2: find ways to say, like we're staying in a hostile amazing. Yeah,
- 28:55Speaker 2: I'm going to Victoria and a couple of our other.
- 28:57Speaker 3: Like Victoria's staying in a hostel. Yeah, I know, I'll
- 29:00Speaker 3: believe it what I say.
- 29:02Speaker 2: Send me photo. It's like a room with like six
- 29:05Speaker 2: bunk beds. It's gonna be like a giant sleeper. That's
- 29:07Speaker 2: there's things like that, I think where you can go. Hey,
- 29:09Speaker 2: like we're going to spend nineteen nine percent of our
- 29:12Speaker 2: time not in our accommodation. And this is the exact
- 29:14Speaker 2: conversation that has had because it's pretty expensive in Europe
- 29:17Speaker 2: right now, it's high season. Everyone's also getting back after
- 29:19Speaker 2: being off for a while, and so we said, oh,
- 29:22Speaker 2: like we can have a beautiful hotel, but it's going
- 29:24Speaker 2: to cost so much money. And ultimately we all said
- 29:28Speaker 2: we're not going to spend a lot of fun there
- 29:30Speaker 2: all I need is a bed. We're all happy to
- 29:33Speaker 2: bunk it together, share a bathroom, share a room probably.
- 29:35Speaker 2: Al that's amazing.
- 29:36Speaker 3: Well, that's another hot tip for budgeting, like think about
- 29:39Speaker 3: where you should be allocating your money and where you
- 29:41Speaker 3: shouldn't be. Yeah, if you're flying in at ten pm,
- 29:43Speaker 3: don't stay somewhere fancies at the airport hotel.
- 29:46Speaker 2: Yeah, and pre purchase I think a lot of your
- 29:48Speaker 2: like tickets and stuff as well, because we wanted to
- 29:51Speaker 2: go to like see a few shows. We want to
- 29:53Speaker 2: go to Disneyland. I'm so excited in Paris. Yes, in Paris,
- 29:58Speaker 2: Oh my god, I lend it all from that. But yeah,
- 30:03Speaker 2: so pre purchasing those expenses because a lot of the
- 30:05Speaker 2: time you can get deals if you're doing them in bulk,
- 30:07Speaker 2: or it's just more expensive to do things last minute.
- 30:09Speaker 2: And a general rule of thumb. So looking at that,
- 30:12Speaker 2: plug it all into a spreadsheet. You can bet your
- 30:14Speaker 2: bottom dollar that Vihid has put together the spreadsheet to
- 30:17Speaker 2: end all spreadsheets, which we're working on convincing her to
- 30:21Speaker 2: put that out publicly. So fingers crossed, there will be
- 30:24Speaker 2: a travel budget available somewhere soon. Amazing.
- 30:28Speaker 3: All right, I think we've got time for one more today,
- 30:32Speaker 3: Jay Rick, It's been an absolute pleasure as always. I
- 30:35Speaker 3: don't know if that is true for the listeners, but
- 30:37Speaker 3: I've had a good time. So this question comes from Casey,
- 30:40Speaker 3: how to educate slash help friends on their money journey
- 30:44Speaker 3: or when they are struggling.
- 30:46Speaker 2: Oh, it's such a hard one because you don't want
- 30:48Speaker 2: to stick your nose in where it doesn't belong exactly,
- 30:51Speaker 2: you know. I think people have to be ready to
- 30:53Speaker 2: receive advice on something like finance. I think just normalizing
- 30:57Speaker 2: the conversations and someone has to take the first step.
- 31:00Speaker 2: And maybe it's you in this situation or the personality
- 31:02Speaker 2: in this question, Casey, but I think just talking about
- 31:06Speaker 2: money like it's a normal thing, like you're talking about shoes,
- 31:10Speaker 2: you know, and talking about salary and budgeting, and just
- 31:14Speaker 2: peppering it into the conversation like it's a normal thing
- 31:18Speaker 2: because it should be, like you shouldn't feel uncomfortable. I
- 31:21Speaker 2: don't think talking about how much money you earn or
- 31:24Speaker 2: talking about if you're saving for something. I think that
- 31:27Speaker 2: that's a great conversation we're having, and that's obviously what
- 31:29Speaker 2: we're all about here at Cheese and the Money is
- 31:31Speaker 2: we want those conversations to exist. But the only way
- 31:34Speaker 2: you're going to make it not awkward is if you
- 31:36Speaker 2: act like it's not awkward. And maybe you will feel
- 31:39Speaker 2: a little bit uncomfy the first time you do it,
- 31:41Speaker 2: if you've never spoken about those things. But I think
- 31:43Speaker 2: you'll find as well that the more you broach the topic,
- 31:46Speaker 2: the more comfortable the people you're talking to will become
- 31:49Speaker 2: doing the same thing. Yeah, it's very true. What do
- 31:51Speaker 2: you think very true?
- 31:52Speaker 3: Yeah, it's a tough one because we all have such
- 31:55Speaker 3: different relationships with money and finance, and we're all different
- 32:00Speaker 3: stages of our careers. Some people are still studying, some
- 32:02Speaker 3: people have been in the same workplace for eight years
- 32:04Speaker 3: and they've really worked their way up to having amazing
- 32:07Speaker 3: salaries and stuff like that. So I think even like
- 32:11Speaker 3: subtly being like, oh, I'm listening to this amazing podcast
- 32:14Speaker 3: called Cheese on the Money or My Millennial Money or
- 32:17Speaker 3: whatever it is, I think that's a really good way
- 32:19Speaker 3: of like edging it in there.
- 32:21Speaker 2: Getting people of the socials too, like point in the
- 32:23Speaker 2: main direction of our Instagram or another page's Instagram or
- 32:26Speaker 2: the Facebook group. There's so many people in there having
- 32:29Speaker 2: those conversations that I think if you start seeing those
- 32:32Speaker 2: things regularly, it kind of normalizes it a bit.
- 32:34Speaker 3: Yeah, and it makes it more fun as well, and
- 32:38Speaker 3: being a part of the community because there's people at
- 32:42Speaker 3: every stage of their journey. There's people who are twenty
- 32:45Speaker 3: grand in debt. There's people who have three hundred thousand
- 32:47Speaker 3: dollars in the bank. So there's someone that you will
- 32:49Speaker 3: resonate with within the group, and you'll see the posts
- 32:52Speaker 3: and so on and so forth. So yeah, I would
- 32:54Speaker 3: really encourage them to become a part of the Shoes
- 32:56Speaker 3: on the Money community, not to plug ourselves tumor, but yeah,
- 33:01Speaker 3: I think, as you said, just broaching the conversation as
- 33:05Speaker 3: much as you can and maybe like sitting them down
- 33:08Speaker 3: if you know that they're really struggling and being like, sis,
- 33:10Speaker 3: how can I help you, Like, let's talk and hear
- 33:12Speaker 3: for you, Because you know, the longer they keep their
- 33:14Speaker 3: heads in the sand, if they are in a really
- 33:16Speaker 3: bad predicament, if they're after pay addicts, whatever it may be,
- 33:20Speaker 3: if they face it with you, maybe that's like the
- 33:22Speaker 3: first step to acknowledging where they're at and they can
- 33:24Speaker 3: create a plan from there. Also, the national debt help plant.
- 33:27Speaker 3: They have a series of great financial counselors who are
- 33:31Speaker 3: free to access, so if they are in a really
- 33:33Speaker 3: sticky spot, that's a really good place to point them
- 33:35Speaker 3: as well.
- 33:36Speaker 2: Incredible, I feel like that's a really good place to
- 33:38Speaker 2: leave it. I think we covered a little bit of finance.
- 33:41Speaker 2: Victoria will hopefully be proud of us. I hope that
- 33:43Speaker 2: I can come back next week and still have a job.
- 33:46Speaker 2: But before we go, don't forget that the advice shared
- 33:48Speaker 2: on Cheese on the Money is generally in nature and
- 33:50Speaker 2: does not consider your individual circumstances. She's on the Money
- 33:53Speaker 2: exists purely for educational purposes and should not be relied
- 33:56Speaker 2: upon to make an investment or a financial decision. And yes,
- 34:00Speaker 2: Victoria Divine and She's on the Money are authorized representatives
- 34:03Speaker 2: of Infocused Securities Australia Proprietary Limited ABM four seven oh
- 34:07Speaker 2: nine seven seven nine seven four nine AFSL two three
- 34:10Speaker 2: six five two three.
- 34:12Speaker 3: Very well read from you before we head off, guys,
- 34:15Speaker 3: as well as we just mentioned, please join us in
- 34:18Speaker 3: our Facebook community where she is on the Money on Facebook,
- 34:21Speaker 3: we're also on Instagram, We're on TikTok and you may
- 34:24Speaker 3: have heard our girl last Saturday morning on KISSFM nine
- 34:28Speaker 3: to ten right around the country.
- 34:29Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, I'm exciting.
- 34:31Speaker 3: So she's doing that for the foreseeable Future and it's like.
- 34:35Speaker 2: The podcast but slightly different. So it's called the She's
- 34:38Speaker 2: on the Money radio show. And I listened last week
- 34:41Speaker 2: a lot of fun, yeah, bitter band. It's a different
- 34:45Speaker 2: vibe because obviously in between the songs there's only so
- 34:47Speaker 2: much time to be sharing all of the willpower and
- 34:50Speaker 2: knowledge that is Victoria to Vine. But like still some
- 34:52Speaker 2: really good tips and some good laughs as well.
- 34:54Speaker 3: Yeah, exactly, have a listen. All right, Well, I think
- 34:58Speaker 3: let's put a cork in it. We'll see you on
- 35:00Speaker 3: Monday saying that guys, bye buys.
