- 0:05Welcome to The Hypnotist, the show that gives you inside
- 0:09access to cutting edge hypnosis with real clients facing
- 0:12genuine. Issues.
- 0:13Brought to you by The Hypnotherapist, demanded by
- 0:16celebrities, CEOs and even royalty, Adam Cox.
- 0:20These recordings took place live from Evans Clinic in London's
- 0:24world famous Harley Street. So get yourself comfortable and
- 0:31enjoy today's episode of The Hypnotist.
- 0:39Hi, it's Adam here. And if you're listening to this,
- 0:42it might be because you've got a real desire to have really good
- 0:46sleep. And this is a sleep hypnosis
- 0:49session with a difference. And that's because it uses
- 0:53levels of disassociation. If you've ever seen the movie
- 0:58Inception, you'll get the idea of dreams within dreams within
- 1:01dreams. And I talk at conferences all
- 1:04around the world on nested loops.
- 1:06And what I find is that levels of disassociation where you
- 1:10start in one place, go somewhere else, go somewhere else acts a
- 1:14lot like nested loops, which can really enrich levels of
- 1:18disassociation and levels of really accessing that kind of
- 1:23place. Where you get really?
- 1:24Good quality, either hypnosis and that can easily transfer
- 1:28into sleep. Now this starts in one place,
- 1:32takes you somewhere else, takes you somewhere else with the
- 1:34opportunity to choose the kind of bed.
- 1:36And there's lots of sleep suggestions, metaphors and very
- 1:40powerful techniques in this that can really enhance sleep.
- 1:43So if you struggle with sleep, you might get some benefit from
- 1:46this. Now, a lot of people are looking
- 1:49for good sleep. So if you do get a really good
- 1:52night's sleep as a result of this or each time you listen,
- 1:55you find yourself drifting off to sleep, please put a comment
- 1:59when you get a chance because that will then give some kind of
- 2:02reassurance to other people that are also looking for good sleep.
- 2:07Now, I'm not going to have an outro at the end of this one.
- 2:10It's just going to be following this explanation.
- 2:13You're then going to hear the hypnosis.
- 2:14But if you do want a version of this, which is just the hypnosis
- 2:18and nothing else, there's two things you can do.
- 2:21You can either get a subscriber version of this through Spotify,
- 2:24which is just a few pence, a few cents a day, and you can access,
- 2:27you know, lots of hypnosis and just the hypnosis without the
- 2:31intro and the outro and the explanation.
- 2:34Or I have something called the Hypnotists Secret Circle, which
- 2:37is my archive of over 1000 hypnosis sessions.
- 2:40Again, it's just the hypnosis and you can actually download
- 2:43that and listen whenever is useful.
- 2:46And there's a whole section there about sleep, so look at
- 2:48the description for those. And if you like the idea of
- 2:52working with me directly, there will be a link to schedule a
- 2:55free 30 minute Zoom call. We'll have a chat and it might
- 2:58be that I work with you directly.
- 3:01But for now, find a quiet comfortable place, ideally your
- 3:04bed, and just relax and enjoy the session.
- 3:29a deep breath in, and as you breathe in, breathe in that
- 3:38feeling of calm and relaxation. And as you exhale, give
- 3:48permission to release. Release any feelings of tension,
- 3:57any stress, any worries. And not all at once, but every
- 4:05time you breathe out, give permission to release a bit
- 4:10more. And I wonder if you can scan
- 4:15your body for any clues of tension, tightness, heaviness,
- 4:25sometimes around the jaw, the neck or the shoulders as you
- 4:31breathe in. Imagine a colour that represents
- 4:35safety, security and relaxation. You decide the colour and
- 4:46imagine breathing in that color of safety, security and
- 4:51relaxation and imagine it goes in through your nose, down your
- 4:58windpipe, into your lungs. And just imagine your heart
- 5:04starts distributing that feeling of safety and relaxation to
- 5:11every cell in your body. And I want you to focus on where
- 5:21any tension, any resistance may be, imagine the color going to
- 5:28that part of your body and diluting it, releasing it.
- 5:37That's it. So that as you breathe out,
- 5:42imagine, imagine a darker color representing any tension, any
- 5:48worries, any insecurities just leaving your body as you breathe
- 5:55out. Consider this an emotional
- 6:02transfusion. As you breathe in that color of
- 6:07safety and relaxation, your body relaxes.
- 6:12And as you breathe out any tension and insecurities, your
- 6:18body can relax even more. As your body accepts that you
- 6:24are safe right here and right now.
- 6:32As you accept the suggestion that the safer you feel, the
- 6:38more relaxed you can be, and the more relaxed you can be, the
- 6:45safer you feel. A wonderful flywheel of ever
- 6:52increasing relaxation. I want you to imagine that your
- 6:59body feeling more and more relaxed stays where it is, but
- 7:07allow your imagination to go on an adventure.
- 7:15Imagine floating up out of your body, seeing yourself looking
- 7:21more and more relaxed with every breath, and allow your
- 7:25imagination to go on a vacation within your imagination.
- 7:37I want you to imagine what your unconscious believes is the
- 7:43safest city or place on the planet and just imagine floating
- 7:53to that place. Maybe you're floating over
- 7:58oceans, cities and deserts, and just imagine finding the safest
- 8:08place in the safest city. Maybe a resort, maybe a house.
- 8:18Or maybe perhaps you could imagine a palace, The kind of
- 8:26palace that royalty would stay in, protected with a perimeter
- 8:35fence, barbed wire, security guards and cameras.
- 8:42And maybe your unconscious would believe that with all of that
- 8:48security, that palace in the safest place in the world would
- 8:56feel very safe. So imagine floating there into
- 9:03that place. And I want you to imagine you
- 9:09are finding yourself inside. I want you to imagine you or one
- 9:17one of the top floors and you're seeing an impressive marble
- 9:23staircase. And this marble staircase takes
- 9:29you down a level, and on that level is a choice of three
- 9:37different bedrooms, each bedroom with a different bed, just like
- 9:44Goldilocks, able to choose what is most comfortable, most
- 9:50relaxing. But for now, you're at the top
- 9:55of the staircase, in the safest place, in the safest city.
- 10:02And very soon I will count down from 12:50.
- 10:10And with each descending number you will imagine descending the
- 10:14staircase, moving you from the conscious to the unconscious
- 10:19mind. With each descending number you
- 10:25will feel 10% deeper and deeper. Relax, particularly your
- 10:30eyelids, jaw, neck and shoulders. 10 Taking the first
- 10:35step down the staircase, immediately feeling more
- 10:40relaxed. 9 Another step down, jaw loosening, eyelids getting
- 10:49heavier. Eight, Another step down the
- 10:53staircase as you notice you're breathing in for longer and out
- 11:00for longer. That's it, 8 becomes 7.
- 11:06I don't need to see if you can detect your heartbeat or a
- 11:11pulse. There's a pulse in your wrist,
- 11:15your neck, or perhaps you can feel your heart beating and just
- 11:24allow that sound, that rhythm to be hypnotic, taking you deeper
- 11:32and deeper, relaxed. 7 becomes 6 now.
- 11:38Notice the heaviness, the looseness of your arms.
- 11:45Five halfway down the staircase, now drifting deeper and deeper
- 11:51down. 4 Now you become aware of a release of any sensations of
- 11:59worry. Anxiety may be in the chest, the
- 12:03gut, or somewhere else. Just allow it to leave your
- 12:07body. As four becomes 3.
- 12:12Just imagine dialing down and turning down the volume of any
- 12:18inner dialogue. That's it.
- 12:21No need for it here. 3 becomes 2 Feeling your legs limp, loose
- 12:27and heavy, and one the final step before 0 reaching one floor
- 12:35beneath. And I want you to feel like
- 12:41Goldilocks in a fairy tale. 3 bedrooms in the safest place in
- 12:49the safest city. Imagine 3 entirely different
- 12:54beds, and I want you to try them on to choose which bed would be
- 13:04the comfiest and the easiest to feel that you could drift off
- 13:10into a dreamlike sleep. And maybe one of them is a bit
- 13:16too firm, and maybe one of them is a bit too soft.
- 13:26But of the three rooms, when you find the room and the bed that
- 13:32feels the most comfortable, That's it.
- 13:46Now, lighting is important when drifting off to sleep.
- 13:49So just imagine the lighting is perfect to feel drowsy.
- 13:56And you felt drowsy before many times the time when the harder
- 14:03you tried to stay awake, the more drowsy you became.
- 14:07Maybe you were trying to read a book or look at something on
- 14:12your phone and you just couldn't hold it up.
- 14:17And I want you to reawaken that neural pathway, to feel that
- 14:20drowsy feel like you're sinking into that bed.
- 14:27And as you drift off into that dreamlike sleep, I want you to
- 14:35recall a time. A time when you felt so tired
- 14:45you couldn't stay awake. I want you to imagine that
- 14:50you're dreaming, that you're tired, somewhere else, somewhere
- 14:55more like your own home, maybe. It's been a few days that we're
- 15:01busy, and I want you to feel like you felt back then, Unable
- 15:09to keep your eyes open, a desire to yawn, a feeling that your
- 15:18head is just nodding off. I want you to imagine in your
- 15:27own bed, feeling that way, head on a pillow drifting off, so
- 15:36that you now access a dream within a dream.
- 15:45And I want you to imagine that in this dream.
- 15:49This is a dream of optimism. In this dream, you exist as a
- 16:00version of you that focuses on all the reasons why things will
- 16:07be fine. I want you to imagine navigating
- 16:12your life, dreaming that you're this version of you.
- 16:20When a worry or a thought comes up, you dismiss it instantly.
- 16:26I'll be fine. And more of that inner dialogue
- 16:32is focused on an absolute sense of confidence that everything
- 16:40will work out fine. I want you to imagine in this
- 16:45place, you've released some of the baggage of the past.
- 16:54When people grow up with chaos, they try and mitigate chaos with
- 17:00control. And I want you to feel that that
- 17:06can make someone highly resourceful, independent, highly
- 17:12accomplished. But it can also cause
- 17:16overthinking. And I want you to imagine in
- 17:21that dream, within a dream, within a dream, you find a
- 17:27control room, almost like you have access to how your brain
- 17:35works. And maybe you imagine that as a
- 17:39room with lots of dials and gauges, control panels and
- 17:45switches. And I want you to imagine
- 17:50walking into that control room. And I want you to see a dial
- 18:00with a switch that says thinking there in the middle,
- 18:07overthinking on the right and under, thinking on the left.
- 18:15And maybe you can imagine seeing that dial is set to
- 18:20overthinking, trying to second guess every eventuality.
- 18:28But as you recall from the past, a certain percentage of your
- 18:34worries, concerns and fears and insecurities never came to pass.
- 18:42And that doesn't mean you want to under think, but just dial it
- 18:48back to thinking. The time to mitigate risk is
- 18:57when you've got evidence that the risk is real, and when
- 19:04you've dialed that down to just normal everyday thinking.
- 19:10Let me know by nodding your head.
- 19:17And feel the shift in your body. And then I want you to see see a
- 19:27dial that represents optimism and pessimism.
- 19:33If pessimism is there to protect, which it is, it means
- 19:41focusing on everything that can go wrong.
- 19:46But I want you to imagine switching it all the way to
- 19:51optimism that you will assume that you will sleep well, you
- 19:58will assume that things will work out fine, and you will deal
- 20:03with problems as they arise, not ten moves in advance.
- 20:10Because life is not a game of chess.
- 20:15It makes sense to plan for the future, but not to pre empt
- 20:20every pitfall. So as you dial it all the way up
- 20:25to optimism, I want you to see a screen there in that control
- 20:32room and I want you to see what your future looks like with a
- 20:40mind that looks for how things can all work out fine.
- 20:48See yourself with a more relaxed facial expression.
- 20:54See yourself preparing for an interview, but not over
- 20:58preparing. See yourself with that kind of
- 21:07mentality that whatever life brings you, you'll make the most
- 21:13of it and it will all work out fine.
- 21:18Because sometimes humans have a tendency to put way too much
- 21:27pressure on themselves, and then they feel guilty if they're not
- 21:34living up to those high expectations, anxious if they
- 21:40can't control what is out of their control.
- 21:44But in this optimistic future, I want you to imagine yourself
- 21:52with someone with the expression.
- 21:54Then things will be fine. And if they're not, you'll deal
- 21:58with him. A pragmatic optimist.
- 22:05And I want you to see in that version of you how much better
- 22:09that version of you sleeps, rather than thinking of
- 22:15everything that might not work out.
- 22:20That version of you assumes that everything's going to be fine.
- 22:29And I want you to see that version of you sleeping for
- 22:31longer. I want you to see that version
- 22:36of you that reminds you, a version of you that even if it
- 22:40was just for a few days, was almost sleeping too much.
- 22:47And then imagine drifting into the screen and feeling what it
- 22:50would feel like to have that level of optimism, overthinking
- 22:56dialed all the way down to normal thinking.
- 23:00And just imagine getting ready to go to bed in your bed in your
- 23:08reality. A dream within a dream within a
- 23:14dream within a dream. Imagine it's 10 minutes before
- 23:21bedtime. Imagine there's a ritual getting
- 23:27ready. Imagine the lighting, the
- 23:34temperature and it sounds and feel what it would feel like to
- 23:42be about to have the best night's sleep you've ever had.
- 23:50Imagine wearing whatever you'd be wearing.
- 23:54Imagine your head on a pillow, how thick the covers are, how
- 23:59soft the mattress is, and just imagine what it would be like to
- 24:09have the kind of sleep where you deep sleep.
- 24:15Or instead of waking up drained, you wake up recharged and
- 24:18rejuvenated. Where you wake up with so much
- 24:21energy that you don't need caffeine because you've got so
- 24:26much energy anyway. Imagine that kind of sleep.
- 24:34And very soon I will count from 1:00 to 10:00.
- 24:43If you're listening this and there is no intention to sleep
- 24:47at this time, then when I count from 1:00 to 10:00, you will
- 24:53awaken. But you will recreate this
- 24:56feeling of relaxation, drowsiness, and an optimistic
- 25:02idea that you will have incredible sleep the very next
- 25:07time you find your head resting on a pillow with your eyes
- 25:14closed. But if you're listening to this
- 25:19and your head is already on the pillow and your eyes are already
- 25:25closed, then when I count from one to 10, it will simply take
- 25:32you deeper and more relaxed to that place where you will
- 25:40indulge in deep, rejuvenating sleep and only awaken when it is
- 25:48time to awaken. Starting to count 123, 456789
- 26:09and 10.
