- 0:02Constance Lavonice: What's guiding your experience of life?
- 0:06Constance Lavonice: Proverbs four twenty three says Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.
- 0:18Constance Lavonice: What is the heart?
- 0:20Constance Lavonice: It's your inner being, where your thoughts and decisions lie.
- 0:26Constance Lavonice: Romans ten says for with the heart a person believes.
- 0:33Constance Lavonice: It's the place of your core beliefs, what you really believe about yourself.
- 0:40Constance Lavonice: It's not how you want to appear to others that you believe, but it's what you truly believe in your inner being.
- 0:54Constance Lavonice: Sometimes you're aware of it, and sometimes you are not aware of your core belief.
- 1:04Constance Lavonice: But it's your core beliefs that directs your life and determines how you experience life.
- 1:14Constance Lavonice: As Christians, we have salvation by God's grace when we believe.
- 1:22Constance Lavonice: And that salvation allows us to be one with Christ.
- 1:28Constance Lavonice: And as a result, we have a new perspective, purpose, and power.
- 1:35Constance Lavonice: I am your host, Constance Lavonice.
- 1:59Constance Lavonice: Because of our oneness with Christ, the first thing we have is a new perspective.
- 2:07Constance Lavonice: We now have God's perspective.
- 2:11Constance Lavonice: We have his framework.
- 2:14Constance Lavonice: Second Corinthians 5 17.
- 2:17Constance Lavonice: Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation.
- 2:23Constance Lavonice: We have a new identity, a new reality of who we are based on how Jesus sees us and what Jesus says that we are.
- 2:37Constance Lavonice: A perspective that informs and guides our life to experience more of it.
- 2:47Constance Lavonice: Jesus said that I have come to give you life and I give you life more abundantly.
- 2:55Constance Lavonice: So more of life.
- 2:57Constance Lavonice: What is the more of life that you can experience?
- 3:02Constance Lavonice: We have that perspective, temporal and also eternal.
- 3:09Constance Lavonice: We are seated in the heavenly places with God.
- 3:13Constance Lavonice: As He is, so are we in this world.
- 3:17Constance Lavonice: Our purpose is to glorify God.
- 3:28Constance Lavonice: Everything we do points to God.
- 3:32Constance Lavonice: Ephesians 2.10 says we are his workmanship, his work of art, a masterpiece.
- 3:42Constance Lavonice: We are his workmanship created in Christ Jesus for good works which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.
- 3:54Constance Lavonice: So we are not a random coincident.
- 3:58Constance Lavonice: We have been intentionally designed and created in his image, in the image of God.
- 4:07Constance Lavonice: And God has a plan for our lives.
- 4:12Constance Lavonice: Jeremiah 29, 11 tells us that God has a plan, declares the Lord.
- 4:21Constance Lavonice: Plans to prosper you and not to harm you.
- 4:25Constance Lavonice: Plans to give you a hope and a future.
- 4:29Constance Lavonice: Our purpose, God has a purpose for our lives, and we can know God's purpose.
- 4:38Constance Lavonice: Our purpose is to add value, temporal and eternal, to be revealing and expressing the character of God, to exhibit and experience the love of God as we serve God and others.
- 4:58Constance Lavonice: We can know God's purpose for our lives.
- 5:03Constance Lavonice: We don't have to wonder if God has a purpose for our lives.
- 5:08Constance Lavonice: We can know God's purpose for our lives.
- 5:12Constance Lavonice: And God's purpose is always to bring glory to Him.
- 5:17Constance Lavonice: And He uses us to do that.
- 5:20Constance Lavonice: The third thing that we have is the power of God.
- 5:25Constance Lavonice: The resurrection power of Jesus Christ, the same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead resides in us.
- 5:36Constance Lavonice: God's power is made perfect in weakness.
- 5:41Constance Lavonice: If you have an inadequacy, a habit to break, or you need courage to speak up, to take a stand, you have resurrection power within you that can help you in any situation in life.
- 6:00Constance Lavonice: You're not alone.
- 6:02Constance Lavonice: Paul said that when I am weak, then I am strong.
- 6:09Constance Lavonice: And that's the same for us because of the spirit that dwells in us.
- 6:15Constance Lavonice: In 1 Corinthians chapter 1, verses 27 through 29, God chooses the things the world considers foolish in order to shame those who think they are wise.
- 6:28Constance Lavonice: God chose things despised by the world, things counted as nothing at all, and used them to bring to nothing what the world considers important.
- 6:41Constance Lavonice: And as a result, no one can boast in the presence of God.
- 6:48Constance Lavonice: All to the glory of God, everything we do in God's power is for God's glory.
- 6:57Constance Lavonice: So we have God's perspective, his purpose, and the power of God within us.
- 7:07Constance Lavonice: So this week, I want you to meditate on Proverbs 423 and examine what you are allowing into your heart and how it's directing your life.
- 7:23Constance Lavonice: And then reflect on God's perspective, purpose, and power in your life and make adjustments that align with the Word of God.
