- 2:07[SPEAKER_00]: That sounds better.
- 2:08[SPEAKER_00]: My brain just does a little fried.
- 2:11[SPEAKER_00]: I just got back from Baha Mexico.
- 2:14[SPEAKER_00]: I was down there for the Baha 400.
- 2:16[SPEAKER_00]: And if you guys don't know what that is, it's like a race.
- 2:18[SPEAKER_00]: It's like trophy truck race.
- 2:20[SPEAKER_00]: It's crazy.
- 2:21[SPEAKER_00]: It's out in the middle of like the desert.
- 2:23[SPEAKER_00]: And like, no, we're, I don't know if that's considered desert, but it's out in the middle of nowhere.
- 2:25[SPEAKER_00]: And it's like dirty and insane in these men go out there and some women, but they go out there and they like learn the terrain and they take notes and and it's, you know, like prepping for like weeks before and then they go out on race day and they have like a start with, they're qualified first and then
- 2:41[SPEAKER_00]: That puts them in their position and then they have a start time and then they take off and you have like 19 hours or something.
- 2:46[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 2:46[SPEAKER_00]: It could be getting this wrong.
- 2:48[SPEAKER_00]: 19 hours to finish the race and you know, you deal with flat tires and things with the brakes.
- 2:52[SPEAKER_00]: And it's just, it's insane.
- 2:54[SPEAKER_00]: And I got to be a part of it.
- 2:56[SPEAKER_00]: It was so cool to be there and the only female in behind the scenes and just see everything that's going on.
- 3:03[SPEAKER_00]: And I was down there one day through Sunday and then the border coming back was just, it was crazy.
- 3:07[SPEAKER_00]: It was a nightmare getting back.
- 3:09[SPEAKER_00]: we did and I'm just like, I feel so, I don't know, so off and now I'm back on the mic on a Monday, we never record on a Monday, but I'm happy to be here with you guys and share a little bit about this experience and you know, just when you go to another country, you know, and you can totally go to Mexico and do like the whole resort thing.
- 3:25[SPEAKER_00]: We did not do that and in Mexico, you know, just hitting on this really quick, it brings a whole appreciation to where we live and what we have and
- 3:35[SPEAKER_00]: We are so blessed you guys so blessed to have just the amenities that we have and the resources and the water and the food and it's incredible It's so crazy when you go down to the the border down by TJ Tijuana and you have to wait in the slide forever and all these people are just selling by your windows and coming up to your door Like the whole time and then edge get closer to the border.
- 3:56[SPEAKER_00]: There's like all these like shops, but not like real stores or anything They're like you know setup shops and stuff and
- 4:02[SPEAKER_00]: There's kids running around in between the cars and the traffic and sitting there.
- 4:06[SPEAKER_00]: There was like this baby sitting in a stroller.
- 4:08[SPEAKER_00]: Like the mom just left it in between the cars on the lines of the road.
- 4:12[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm like, oh, my God, and it's crazy.
- 4:15[SPEAKER_00]: Because then you cross over and you hit essentially down by San Diego.
- 4:20[SPEAKER_00]: And within 10 seconds, it's a whole other world.
- 4:23[SPEAKER_00]: and i'm not getting into political stuff or like bashing anything i'm just sharing my experience and how it just makes you i don't know come from a place of gratitude for hot second you know and you're just like oh my god we are so blessed we are so lucky and
- 4:39[SPEAKER_00]: And then to make sure you think, like, what can I do?
- 4:40[SPEAKER_00]: How can I help?
- 4:41[SPEAKER_00]: And I don't know.
- 4:42[SPEAKER_00]: So it was just an experience that I'm never going to forget.
- 4:45[SPEAKER_00]: It made me realize to well one.
- 4:47[SPEAKER_00]: I do have to say this because I took a couple of days off from the gym.
- 4:50[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm excited to go today to see how strong I am because always when you take days off and you go back, it's like, wow, recovery is amazing.
- 4:57[SPEAKER_00]: So that was good.
- 4:57[SPEAKER_00]: But then also, it's just, it's so good to step away from your norm.
- 5:01[SPEAKER_00]: And I talk about this a little bit at the end of the podcast.
- 5:04[SPEAKER_00]: It's so good to step away from your norm and get recharged.
- 5:07[SPEAKER_00]: Now, although my sleep wasn't great, and it was like crazy situations.
- 5:10[SPEAKER_00]: And it was a couple of long days sitting in a car and everything.
- 5:12[SPEAKER_00]: But, you know, I'm away from my norm.
- 5:15[SPEAKER_00]: And you recharge your battery when you get to go do fucking amazing things.
- 5:19[SPEAKER_00]: And we get stuck so much in our daily rut and just like homework and kids and sports and work and then repeat and like oh it's the weekends now I have time to do your work and like you know like we don't go out and do like amazing things and my dear friend Marcelo Hill who is our guest today.
- 5:37[SPEAKER_00]: we talk about this at the end of this episode and just like how important it is for our soul and to live life in the experience.
- 5:44[SPEAKER_00]: And if we want our kids to live life and have experiences and benefit from all that, they need to see us do that.
- 5:51[SPEAKER_00]: They need to see us go out and just, you know, chase the sun and do cool things and
- 5:57[SPEAKER_00]: being a good parent doesn't mean being there every single day.
- 6:01[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, being there lives.
- 6:02[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, raise good humans.
- 6:03[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, all those things, but like, what are you doing?
- 6:06[SPEAKER_00]: It just, it just made me like think of the question, you know, and bring up the whole topic of like, what are you doing to feel alive?
- 6:13[SPEAKER_00]: What are you doing to break it up?
- 6:14[SPEAKER_00]: And now I know things cost money and, you know, like, all that sure.
- 6:18[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not, you know, dismissing that at all.
- 6:20[SPEAKER_00]: But there's so many other things that you can do to feel alive that don't cost money.
- 6:24[SPEAKER_00]: You know, are you pushing yourself on your walks?
- 6:26[SPEAKER_00]: Are you driving somewhere and just taking a different walk?
- 6:29[SPEAKER_00]: You know, looking at a new path.
- 6:31[SPEAKER_00]: signing up for a race, going to a new gym, trying a new class, like what are you doing that just makes your soul feel a little bit of a live.
- 6:38[SPEAKER_00]: We get so stuck at being home bodies, right?
- 6:41[SPEAKER_00]: Which is totally fine.
- 6:43[SPEAKER_00]: Like, that's why I forced myself to go out and do different things because I'm like, oh, I'm good at my home.
- 6:47[SPEAKER_00]: I can go from home to gym and be like totally content.
- 6:50[SPEAKER_00]: And I live in a gated community.
- 6:51[SPEAKER_00]: I don't really have to leave, you know, like, I'm good here.
- 6:54[SPEAKER_00]: And you know, you don't live that way.
- 6:57[SPEAKER_00]: you don't your soul does not feel alive that way and so if you're listening to this and you're someone who just does work at home exciting days go to target dude girl come on change it up live life do something crazy do something fun sign up for something
- 7:13[SPEAKER_00]: just wake your soul up just a little bit.
- 7:16[SPEAKER_00]: And that's everything that like Marcella Hill is all about.
- 7:19[SPEAKER_00]: Wake her up.
- 7:21[SPEAKER_00]: Today's guest Marcella Hill is a parametopause advocate and a speaker and an author of the Amazon bestseller wake her up if you feel like something's missing.
- 7:28[SPEAKER_00]: It's you.
- 7:29[SPEAKER_00]: And she's the host of the Waker Up Podcast, which I have been on a few times.
- 7:34[SPEAKER_00]: So you guys go check out the podcast, Waker Up.
- 7:37[SPEAKER_00]: Check it out, listen to our episodes together.
- 7:38[SPEAKER_00]: They're not that old.
- 7:40[SPEAKER_00]: Some of them just recently came out.
- 7:42[SPEAKER_00]: But her podcast is a candid, unfiltered middle-life conversation space for women who feel like something's missing.
- 7:47[SPEAKER_00]: And are realizing that what's missing is themselves.
- 7:51[SPEAKER_00]: And Marcelo created the Waker Up movement and a website directory in response to her own Perry Metapostrini.
- 7:57[SPEAKER_00]: and now provides women with real help, real hope and like this beautiful path forward.
- 8:02[SPEAKER_00]: And what I love about Marcella is how she makes women feel seen, especially in a phase of life that so many people brush under the rug and she doesn't shy away from the messy, the shame, the chaos and instead she leans in, digs deep and pulls back the veil like so we can all wake up
- 8:20[SPEAKER_00]: walk into the next phase of life with power and purpose and presence.
- 8:24[SPEAKER_00]: And, you know, we dig a little bit into her personal story.
- 8:27[SPEAKER_00]: And I love that she shares that.
- 8:29[SPEAKER_00]: And that's how it birthed.
- 8:30[SPEAKER_00]: You know, the wake her up and how she connects now women with help and resources.
- 8:37[SPEAKER_00]: It's just incredible.
- 8:38[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to have her back on and we're going to talk about teen life and navigating that, because it's funny there in the same stage of like navigating hormonal shifts.
- 8:45[SPEAKER_00]: And so are women, you know, they're experienced by parameda pause and metapause and stuff.
- 8:49[SPEAKER_00]: And it's nothing to be like disgusted by or shame.
- 8:51[SPEAKER_00]: It's
- 8:52[SPEAKER_00]: this is such a good conversation that you guys need to hear and we were kind of talking about like how you know women will try and read a book and what we try to take information and some of us do some of us sit down and finish a book and we're like oh that was really good and then we don't take the next step or some of us don't even read the book and we're like yeah I gotta sit in my shelf but I just haven't read it.
- 9:10[SPEAKER_00]: that's a problem and many people will only hear episodes like this and this is how they'll get knowledge in their brain and be like oh wow i didn't know that oh my god that's me i'm experiencing that and then they'll take a step forward so that's why i love this conversation that we had because it's like god so many women this might be it for them this might be the only thing in way that they hear this conversation about doctors and parameda pausing blood and testing and all of it so
- 9:37[SPEAKER_00]: Check out the show notes, learn how you can connect with her, follow her, go to the website the directory, everything.
- 9:44[SPEAKER_00]: And as always, you guys click on the link in there, but click with me.
- 9:46[SPEAKER_00]: If you don't know which direction to take, if you feel like you are stuck, I'm here to have the conversation, work with you one on one, put you in my group setting, we can figure this out together.
- 9:56[SPEAKER_00]: You don't have to do this alone at all.
- 9:58[SPEAKER_00]: All right, everyone, enjoy the show.
- 10:08[SPEAKER_00]: Hey everyone, welcome to the bomb life podcast today.
- 10:13[SPEAKER_00]: We have my dear friend, Marcella Hill.
- 10:16[SPEAKER_00]: Back on the show, welcome Marcella.
- 10:18[SPEAKER_00]: And back, hi.
- 10:21[SPEAKER_00]: I'm so happy that you are finally here.
- 10:24[SPEAKER_00]: I've been on your podcast, the Waker Up Podcast.
- 10:27[SPEAKER_00]: Poise?
- 10:28[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, recently, like we're always, like you're always on.
- 10:32[SPEAKER_00]: I know, and I'm like, she's got to come back on.
- 10:35[SPEAKER_00]: But I do have to say, I had you on first.
- 10:37[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, that's true.
- 10:38[SPEAKER_00]: I have a lot of cats for us definitely.
- 10:41[SPEAKER_00]: Love you, I'm going.
- 10:42[SPEAKER_00]: I think that was like two years ago.
- 10:44[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe even three.
- 10:46[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not even joking.
- 10:47[SPEAKER_02]: That's like before we actually knew each other.
- 10:49[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 10:50[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 10:50[SPEAKER_00]: So if you guys don't know, Marcel and I are pretty good friends.
- 10:53[SPEAKER_00]: She's my go-to, not gonna lie.
- 10:55[SPEAKER_00]: Just call her one.
- 10:56[SPEAKER_00]: But in my bed, we have slept together all the things that sounds terrible.
- 11:02[SPEAKER_00]: I like, I just had a nervous breakdown like two weeks ago.
- 11:05[SPEAKER_00]: Marcel is the one I called.
- 11:06[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, I like Dexter.
- 11:07[SPEAKER_00]: I'm like, I'm ready to cry.
- 11:09[SPEAKER_00]: I'm gonna cry.
- 11:09[SPEAKER_00]: Aren't you of space for this right now?
- 11:11[SPEAKER_01]: Looks like I did.
- 11:12[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, it was lovely.
- 11:14[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so everyone does so I know this woman I have lived in her house a few times now and I'm so excited to have her back on because she is just you are the guru of like Perry Metapaz in the space I'm it's such an honor to have you on I have sent people and asked you questions of like.
- 11:34[SPEAKER_00]: Dude, I got this, you know, client that is in a mess and her doctor's aren't helping where do I send her?
- 11:40[SPEAKER_00]: What do we do?
- 11:41[SPEAKER_00]: And every single time, like you have guided us in the right place and they're like doing amazing.
- 11:46[SPEAKER_02]: So yeah, I feel like I somehow ended up being the very minute pause tour guide is what I've landed on because I'm like,
- 11:55[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not an expert for sure not.
- 11:58[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know medical anything of this, but I can I can guide you to where to go.
- 12:04[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, that's what I can do.
- 12:06[SPEAKER_02]: So that's where I ended.
- 12:07[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but I swear I feel like I could go to you for more answers than I could my own doctor.
- 12:14[SPEAKER_00]: Like well, like you could guide me in a better direction.
- 12:18[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, look and you've lived it, you know, and you've experienced so much and you've talked to so many people all around the world like I think that's the difference right I could be I never thought about this but when you're walking into a doctor let's say you're going to a local clinic.
- 12:33[SPEAKER_02]: One, that doctor is limited to the amount of patients they can fit into their schedule in their local area.
- 12:40[SPEAKER_02]: right?
- 12:41[SPEAKER_02]: They're not talking to a million people.
- 12:43[SPEAKER_02]: No, they're talking to each individual.
- 12:46[SPEAKER_02]: And those individuals are not overlapping their stories in the sense of they're not correlating and palaling their stories and to figure out like, wait a minute, you and you and you and maybe we should like collectively ask this doctor about this if they're telling us all the same thing.
- 13:05[SPEAKER_02]: So even going to
- 13:08[SPEAKER_02]: a doctor that's really well versed, they're still in their own tunnel.
- 13:13[SPEAKER_02]: And me, all that's something on social media, and a hundred thousand people will tell me what's going on with them.
- 13:20[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 13:20[SPEAKER_02]: So I do get a much bigger picture than a doctor does.
- 13:25[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 13:26[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, that's so true.
- 13:28[SPEAKER_02]: It just makes me trust you more and like I know it, you know, the research can talk all at once, but when you got 100,000 women saying something else, I'm going to go with that right same.
- 13:43[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, my doctor, just the other day told me to stop taking creating.
- 13:47[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm like, no reason, no reason.
- 13:50[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm like, why?
- 13:51[SPEAKER_00]: I'm like, creating's amazing.
- 13:52[SPEAKER_00]: And I didn't want to get into studies and stats.
- 13:55[SPEAKER_00]: It was just a quick, like, over the phone, like, you know, doctor appointment.
- 13:59[SPEAKER_00]: And she's like, why?
- 14:01[SPEAKER_00]: Like, if you don't need it, you know, don't add it.
- 14:03[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm like, okay, I get that.
- 14:06[SPEAKER_00]: But there's so many benefits to it.
- 14:09[SPEAKER_00]: She's like, no, no, you don't need it.
- 14:13[SPEAKER_02]: Like a baby disagree with you right now, I think we forget we forget that doctors are working a full time more than full time job and have a life.
- 14:23[SPEAKER_02]: Oh yeah, so they've already gone to school.
- 14:26[SPEAKER_02]: They work full time and run a business most of them.
- 14:29[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and they're not even business people.
- 14:31[SPEAKER_02]: So they're trying to figure out their business.
- 14:33[SPEAKER_02]: And then they have a life.
- 14:34[SPEAKER_02]: So we expect them to be like up on the research constantly educating themselves.
- 14:39[SPEAKER_02]: They
- 14:40[SPEAKER_02]: Most of them don't want to.
- 14:41[SPEAKER_02]: Most of them are like, this is my practice.
- 14:44[SPEAKER_02]: This is what the product is that I have found works with most people and they themselves have this like package deal right where they're like, they're go to system that thing where they 80 see.
- 14:58[SPEAKER_02]: That's what we do for most people.
- 15:01[SPEAKER_00]: It's like, I think I told you this.
- 15:03[SPEAKER_00]: My ex has been works for a hide a very well known from a suitable company.
- 15:10[SPEAKER_00]: And I remember, because when we had gotten married, he was just starting that job.
- 15:14[SPEAKER_00]: And it never left this, what he said, never left my head, gotta can't talk.
- 15:19[SPEAKER_00]: And he was like, I go in and I tell the doctors what they know.
- 15:23[SPEAKER_00]: He's like, I educate them, and I know more about,
- 15:26[SPEAKER_00]: You know, he had like erectile dysfunction.
- 15:28[SPEAKER_00]: He had like things for yeast infections.
- 15:29[SPEAKER_00]: Like things like that.
- 15:30[SPEAKER_00]: He's like, I'm educating them.
- 15:32[SPEAKER_00]: He's like, I'm telling them things and they're learning their information from me.
- 15:36[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm like, really?
- 15:37[SPEAKER_00]: And he wasn't saying it like in a cocky way.
- 15:39[SPEAKER_00]: I was like, what do you do?
- 15:40[SPEAKER_00]: And like, how does this work?
- 15:41[SPEAKER_00]: And like, he's like, well, no, seriously, I know more than the physician.
- 15:44[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm going in there and educating them.
- 15:46[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm like, you, just a rep.
- 15:48[SPEAKER_00]: And he's like, yeah, that's where they're getting their information from.
- 15:51[SPEAKER_02]: It's literally the pharmaceutical wraps or the ones training the doctors on new stuff.
- 15:57[SPEAKER_02]: So it's like the whole sense of it's so messed up and I'm just one of the girls in the system that didn't need us.
- 16:04[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 16:04[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I didn't know idea.
- 16:05[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 16:06[SPEAKER_02]: And I don't have any light.
- 16:07[SPEAKER_02]: I don't benefit from spewing this information.
- 16:11[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 16:12[SPEAKER_02]: It's what it is.
- 16:12[SPEAKER_02]: Like we and women just don't know.
- 16:14[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 16:15[SPEAKER_02]: The other thing I think that's really interesting, especially when you're.
- 16:18[SPEAKER_02]: We're talking about pairing them in pause and hormones and this is something I'm really It took me a long time to wrap my brain around.
- 16:24[SPEAKER_02]: I think a lot of women expect to their OBGYN to be their woman doctor for the rest of the life And they are going to guide them through all the hormonal changes and we expect them to Yeah, and we are really upset when they don't know anything about hormones or they dismiss us
- 16:43[SPEAKER_02]: And for me, I'm like realizing, one OBGYNs did not learn a damn thing about hormones.
- 16:50[SPEAKER_02]: They didn't.
- 16:50[SPEAKER_02]: If your OBGYN does know about hormones, it's because that doctor decided to go out and get additional education in a specialized form at their own expense, at their own time and efforts and energy.
- 17:06[SPEAKER_02]: Hormones is not like included in the OBGYN education.
- 17:10[SPEAKER_02]: It's just not part of that
- 17:12[SPEAKER_02]: yet we expect it.
- 17:14[SPEAKER_02]: It would be like going to your OBGYN and being like, help me with my eyes.
- 17:18[SPEAKER_02]: It's not their area of expertise.
- 17:21[SPEAKER_02]: It's not what they do and it's not that they're lying to us.
- 17:24[SPEAKER_02]: It's not that they are necessarily dismissing us.
- 17:27[SPEAKER_02]: It's literally, they don't know.
- 17:29[SPEAKER_02]: Now, it would make more sense if OB-Gerans would blatantly say, I was not trained in this area.
- 17:36[SPEAKER_02]: I do not know.
- 17:37[SPEAKER_02]: This is not my area of expertise, just like I'm not an eye doctor.
- 17:43[SPEAKER_02]: I only work with the genus and uterus says that's all I know.
- 17:47[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know hormones and the enter can systems and they don't know anything about that.
- 17:53[SPEAKER_02]: But instead they just are like, decide that they're going to tell us that they kind of know about it just enough to make us feel crazy.
- 18:01[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, we're going to check your blood.
- 18:02[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to see where your levels are.
- 18:04[SPEAKER_00]: And depending on that test, we're going to write you a prescription.
- 18:07[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, because obesity lands are going off or I just have to think just literally any doctor, they're going off scales and references provided by the FDA provided by the medical system so they'll run blood work and then if you end up in the green area of normal.
- 18:25[SPEAKER_02]: then the doctor's like, you know, you're normal.
- 18:27[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 18:28[SPEAKER_02]: But what women don't know is that if how that's the question asks, how did we create normal range?
- 18:37[SPEAKER_02]: That's the question to be asking.
- 18:39[SPEAKER_02]: And what they ended up doing with more male ranges is they went and they looked at regular women.
- 18:45[SPEAKER_02]: all women whether they feel good or don't feel good doesn't matter and they're like this is their normal range this is the normal range average this is the average range that's what they should call it but that doesn't mean that those women feel good so it's not the same as going and getting blood work done for a disease right if you go and do that and you're normal range that's good right if you do blood work for hormones and you're normal range that's actually really bad
- 19:16[SPEAKER_02]: with and on average, don't feel but so you don't want to be normal.
- 19:22[SPEAKER_00]: I can relate to that, like if we look at a normal female and average female and their fitness in health level, you know, with body fat or muscle and stuff, like if you look at that, like, oh, do you want to be that average, that normal, quote unquote person, I would think I'd be like, oh, hell no, no.
- 19:42[SPEAKER_00]: I don't want to look like that.
- 19:43[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, like, no offense to the American woman, but like, no, I want to be a step above that.
- 19:49[SPEAKER_00]: And that's such a good way that you explain that.
- 19:52[SPEAKER_02]: Well, and normal right now is, is not even good.
- 19:55[SPEAKER_02]: Like, right?
- 19:56[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, oh, that's what it's woman right now.
- 19:58[SPEAKER_02]: She,
- 20:00[SPEAKER_02]: isn't sleeping well.
- 20:01[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, we're just going to run through the symptoms right now.
- 20:03[SPEAKER_02]: If you write this thing, these are the symptoms.
- 20:05[SPEAKER_02]: There's over 105 symptoms.
- 20:07[SPEAKER_02]: And I don't even like them call.
- 20:08[SPEAKER_02]: I don't even like calling it symptoms because you would never say what are the symptoms of puberty.
- 20:14[SPEAKER_02]: You would never put it like that context.
- 20:17[SPEAKER_02]: Right, we just know it's all of you.
- 20:19[SPEAKER_02]: If you're 15, you're in it.
- 20:21[SPEAKER_02]: Like, it's your whole thing.
- 20:24[SPEAKER_02]: Like, get me like, need symptoms of perimenopause.
- 20:28[SPEAKER_02]: But one, I'm just gonna say blanket statement.
- 20:31[SPEAKER_02]: If you're between 35 and 50, you're in perimenopause, it's almost 10 years prior to menopause.
- 20:44[SPEAKER_02]: of no cycle.
- 20:46[SPEAKER_02]: Right?
- 20:47[SPEAKER_02]: So 10 years, a 10 years fan before that.
- 20:49[SPEAKER_02]: So think of like your eight-year-old all-way of 18.
- 20:53[SPEAKER_02]: That's puberty.
- 20:55[SPEAKER_02]: So anyway, so there's that, but you're not sleeping, you have irregular periods, your body hurts everything inches from the inside of your ears to your eyes to your hair to your legs, everything inches, you filled this overall dead inside.
- 21:12[SPEAKER_02]: You don't really want to make up on the morning.
- 21:15[SPEAKER_02]: There's just a numbness of feeling.
- 21:17[SPEAKER_02]: So you're not really crying, like you're really thinking like
- 21:21[SPEAKER_02]: I know you and I have that conversation, right?
- 21:23[SPEAKER_02]: You know, you can't cry.
- 21:25[SPEAKER_02]: You really can't feel many emotions at all.
- 21:27[SPEAKER_02]: The things that you used to bring a joy don't you have no libido.
- 21:31[SPEAKER_02]: Also creepy crawly skin like it just pins and needles.
- 21:34[SPEAKER_02]: You just you just want to crawl out of your body.
- 21:37[SPEAKER_02]: There's also heart palpitations and new smells.
- 21:39[SPEAKER_02]: New body odor is a crazy thing.
- 21:42[SPEAKER_02]: Women say like they just suddenly smell like onions.
- 21:44[SPEAKER_02]: Even just getting out of the shower.
- 21:46[SPEAKER_02]: Like, where's the onions?
- 21:48[SPEAKER_02]: It just goes up.
- 21:48[SPEAKER_02]: Obviously, the hot flashes.
- 21:50[SPEAKER_02]: I was like, I'm just going to feel like there's so many.
- 21:52[SPEAKER_02]: That's like the obvious one, but right.
- 21:54[SPEAKER_02]: Well, many other symptoms that women are not associating with that.
- 21:57[SPEAKER_02]: You know, if your ears are itching, you're not associating itch ears with low libido.
- 22:03[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, I don't know.
- 22:04[SPEAKER_02]: You're treating those as two totally separate situations, but it's all hormones.
- 22:11[SPEAKER_02]: And I think what's interesting is people want to
- 22:15[SPEAKER_02]: I've watched women want to say like, well, which symptoms are associated with which hormone?
- 22:21[SPEAKER_02]: And this isn't really important conversation because it's a system, it's the whole thing.
- 22:27[SPEAKER_02]: You can't just say like, itchy ears is this right, because somebody could go fix their thyroid.
- 22:37[SPEAKER_02]: and have everything, all their symptoms go away.
- 22:41[SPEAKER_02]: And that person's going to say, it was my thyroid.
- 22:44[SPEAKER_02]: I just need to fix thyroid.
- 22:46[SPEAKER_02]: But what they don't know is that because they fix their thyroid, it fixed their testosterone, and their estrogen, and their progesterone.
- 22:54[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 22:54[SPEAKER_02]: It helped all the things.
- 22:56[SPEAKER_02]: Because me, I put in testosterone in my body, and some progesterone, and all the symptoms went away.
- 23:04[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 23:04[SPEAKER_02]: So it just, it's a whole system.
- 23:06[SPEAKER_02]: And that's all balancing, right?
- 23:09[SPEAKER_02]: Because you can't go too high in one or too low in another, like it's a whole thing.
- 23:17[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it this whole thing is so messed up and it's so confusing.
- 23:21[SPEAKER_02]: And even doctors that are hormone therapists are still contradicting each other.
- 23:26[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 23:27[SPEAKER_02]: And I will say the wildest thing that has come out of all of this is that women are realizing how individual their bodies are.
- 23:36[SPEAKER_02]: You know, in the right layer of system, we've been treated like this one thing, this one,
- 23:47[SPEAKER_02]: It doesn't work for you.
- 23:48[SPEAKER_02]: You should just get a different medication.
- 23:50[SPEAKER_00]: Hey, Bob and my fam.
- 23:52[SPEAKER_00]: I have a question for you.
- 23:53[SPEAKER_00]: Are you the kind of person who crushes it at work shows up for your family checks off every to-do list?
- 23:58[SPEAKER_00]: But when it comes to your fitness, your energy and your confidence, it feels like something's missing.
- 24:02[SPEAKER_00]: You might be doing the workouts listening to all the right podcasts.
- 24:05[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, you are listening to this one.
- 24:06[SPEAKER_00]: But deep down, you know you're just kind of going through the motions and you're done playing small in this area of life.
- 24:11[SPEAKER_00]: That's exactly why I created FitMine Coaching.
- 24:14[SPEAKER_00]: My private one-on-one program for high-achieving women and men who are ready to level up.
- 24:19[SPEAKER_00]: This isn't just another fitness plan.
- 24:20[SPEAKER_00]: This is about building the body and the mindset to match the life you're working so damn hard for.
- 24:25[SPEAKER_00]: Because success in business means nothing if you're hiding in hoodies avoiding mirrors or dragging through your day was your energy.
- 24:32[SPEAKER_00]: Or showing up on Zoom meetings feeling good from the chest up, but praying no one ever sees what's going on below the screen.
- 24:38[SPEAKER_00]: We're talking about fat loss, muscle building, and real confidence that bleeds into every area of your life, your border of your bedroom and your parenting.
- 24:45[SPEAKER_00]: You want it all?
- 24:46[SPEAKER_00]: Good.
- 24:47[SPEAKER_00]: You should have it all.
- 24:48[SPEAKER_00]: Let's go.
- 24:48[SPEAKER_00]: Click the link in the show notes and book your free poll with me today.
- 24:51[SPEAKER_00]: Let's build the strongest, most competent version of you inside and out.
- 24:55[SPEAKER_00]: You're ready for more, and I'm ready to show you how, back to the show.
- 25:00[SPEAKER_00]: I was totally going to ask, like, what's the biggest myths or misconceptions you've heard about Perry Matapaz?
- 25:05[SPEAKER_00]: And that's one of the biggest ones.
- 25:08[SPEAKER_02]: It's I think that's what's crazy is we're mad at the system for not treating us like individuals and studying us the one and other reason why the system doesn't study us because we're too complicated we don't have a regular system you know sometimes women are trying and you don't need it's like this.
- 25:29[SPEAKER_02]: We're mad with this and we're not creating studies, but then we ourselves are not willing to treat ourselves like an individual citizen and going to have things on ourselves to figure out what actually works for ourselves we literally still just want the one pill a lot of women will say I've done a charti it didn't work for me.
- 25:51[SPEAKER_02]: And then I'm like, what HRT did you do?
- 25:55[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 25:55[SPEAKER_02]: Like, what does that even mean?
- 25:57[SPEAKER_02]: Because people think HRT is like this box that gets sent to your house and we try it.
- 26:02[SPEAKER_02]: And then do you realize there was like, let's just talk about testosterone?
- 26:06[SPEAKER_02]: There is creams, injections, gels.
- 26:10[SPEAKER_02]: I think there's even an oral, there's pellets.
- 26:13[SPEAKER_02]: So you've got all that.
- 26:14[SPEAKER_02]: Then we even within just pellets, you've got like different combinations
- 26:21[SPEAKER_02]: producers of pellets that use different delivery methods, and you have different physicians that dose it differently.
- 26:28[SPEAKER_02]: No.
- 26:29[SPEAKER_02]: And so I tried that.
- 26:31[SPEAKER_02]: I didn't work.
- 26:32[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm like, that doesn't even make sense.
- 26:35[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 26:35[SPEAKER_00]: What do you mean?
- 26:36[SPEAKER_00]: But it's so funny you're saying that because I'm like, sitting here going, I hear that all the time.
- 26:41[SPEAKER_00]: Like, people say that to me.
- 26:42[SPEAKER_00]: I was like, oh, I've tried that and it didn't work.
- 26:44[SPEAKER_00]: And we have, like, as women, we've just got to get that out of our head that, like, oh, that didn't work.
- 26:50[SPEAKER_00]: It's like, there are 50 different varieties of ways that you could do, like, your nutrition or your workouts or your cardio or your hormones or the way you sleep, like, everything.
- 27:02[SPEAKER_00]: There's so many different ways.
- 27:03[SPEAKER_00]: I feel like we just need to remove that.
- 27:04[SPEAKER_00]: I'm like, oh, that didn't work for me.
- 27:07[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 27:08[SPEAKER_02]: And we also, I mean, this car is just so big, right?
- 27:11[SPEAKER_02]: Because, oh, God, I mean, we're jumping in like right in the middle.
- 27:15[SPEAKER_02]: They're like, why should I take hormones?
- 27:17[SPEAKER_02]: Like we didn't even get into all right.
- 27:19[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 27:19[SPEAKER_02]: Again, like, I'm not an out of professional, but what I've learned and the new research that's out.
- 27:25[SPEAKER_02]: This is, I'm going to give this to you in a nutshell back in the like 80's 90's numbers.
- 27:32[SPEAKER_02]: for how many women in menopause were on hormones?
- 27:36[SPEAKER_02]: It's something insane.
- 27:38[SPEAKER_02]: I want to say it's like, great.
- 27:41[SPEAKER_02]: I don't want to throw the other one over.
- 27:43[SPEAKER_02]: But it's a lot.
- 27:43[SPEAKER_02]: It's like 50% of women were on hormones.
- 27:46[SPEAKER_02]: Let's just say 50% in comparison.
- 27:49[SPEAKER_02]: Now today, it's like 3%.
- 27:53[SPEAKER_02]: And this is what happened.
- 27:54[SPEAKER_02]: There was a study, it's called the WHOI study, and they studied women over 60 that with estrogen.
- 28:03[SPEAKER_02]: And basically on the today show, they announced the results before the study was even done, and basically,
- 28:13[SPEAKER_02]: said that it causes cancer, which was not true.
- 28:18[SPEAKER_02]: But because that statement on the today's show in one day, women just threw out all of their hormones, doctors just shut it all down.
- 28:27[SPEAKER_02]: And then nothing, there was no other research followed up.
- 28:31[SPEAKER_02]: Nope.
- 28:32[SPEAKER_02]: hormones off the table.
- 28:33[SPEAKER_02]: And so everyone got freaked out.
- 28:35[SPEAKER_02]: Doctors learned that a cause cancer.
- 28:37[SPEAKER_02]: So now we've got 20 years of doctors that have learned that a cause cancer when all of that was bullshit.
- 28:44[SPEAKER_02]: It's actually been completely what do you call that redacted as at the word?
- 28:49[SPEAKER_02]: Like it's been said that like that study was bogus.
- 28:53[SPEAKER_02]: It was done wrong.
- 28:54[SPEAKER_02]: The information was wrong.
- 28:55[SPEAKER_02]: We should never stop doing it before.
- 28:57[SPEAKER_00]: The damage it did though.
- 28:59[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 29:00[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, women are have dementia because they didn't take hormones.
- 29:03[SPEAKER_02]: So like, so let's get into like what hormones actually do for me personally.
- 29:09[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, that's why I'm all here, right, because I thought I was dead inside hated my husband.
- 29:15[SPEAKER_02]: Dr. said, all the hormones were normal went another year of just feeling like it was crazy, then my, I was like, you got to go this hormone clinic.
- 29:23[SPEAKER_02]: I was like, great, where are we going?
- 29:26[SPEAKER_02]: Called them, told them all their symptoms.
- 29:27[SPEAKER_02]: It was the first person.
- 29:28[SPEAKER_02]: It was like, we help with that.
- 29:29[SPEAKER_02]: I was like,
- 29:30[SPEAKER_02]: balling.
- 29:31[SPEAKER_02]: It was like, I just got into them all like everything now.
- 29:35[SPEAKER_02]: And at this point, I have to be really honest.
- 29:37[SPEAKER_02]: I didn't know anything about homotherapy.
- 29:40[SPEAKER_02]: I didn't even know to research anything.
- 29:41[SPEAKER_02]: I had no idea.
- 29:43[SPEAKER_02]: I was so desperate.
- 29:44[SPEAKER_02]: I was like, just put it in my body.
- 29:46[SPEAKER_02]: Literally didn't care.
- 29:48[SPEAKER_02]: And I went.
- 29:49[SPEAKER_02]: I started on the testosterone pellets and seven days late wall first of all.
- 29:55[SPEAKER_02]: The
- 29:58[SPEAKER_02]: I thought it was like a flu thing.
- 29:59[SPEAKER_02]: I don't remember the last time I slept all night.
- 30:02[SPEAKER_02]: I thought there was a little kid thing to do where you go to that at night and then you wake up in the morning.
- 30:06[SPEAKER_02]: No idea the dumps can sleep all night.
- 30:08[SPEAKER_02]: I just had no idea that was a real thing.
- 30:11[SPEAKER_02]: Barely, yeah, like Barely, yeah, and then by the seventh day, I remember being about seven o'clock, yeah, I had lived years, like counting down the hours to bedtime, where I was like, I'm just done.
- 30:26[SPEAKER_02]: Like I just, I remember telling me, because it was like six o'clock and I had like mods off duty, like we're not doing those anymore, right?
- 30:33[SPEAKER_02]: And I remember being seven o'clock and
- 30:40[SPEAKER_02]: And it was so different, like my energy was different.
- 30:45[SPEAKER_02]: I wasn't caffeinated energy.
- 30:47[SPEAKER_02]: It was just this generally good want to be around people energy.
- 30:53[SPEAKER_02]: I need to look like well that's down.
- 30:56[SPEAKER_02]: And after like three or four months, all of a sudden my bones didn't hurt.
- 31:01[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I think it's a little sore on your last one and where.
- 31:04[SPEAKER_02]: I'd stop going for long walks and remember being out for a long walk being like my ankles don't hurt my knees don't hurt my shoulders don't hurt my hips don't hurt like I wonder if I can run and remember running and just crying and just thinking like I'm that like I'm not going to just slowly die yeah to be in this body that's not falling apart anymore and right.
- 31:27[SPEAKER_02]: It just, that's what hormones do.
- 31:30[SPEAKER_02]: And now, obviously, I've been here for three years.
- 31:33[SPEAKER_02]: I worked with lots of doctors.
- 31:35[SPEAKER_02]: You know, I have a publishing us two studies.
- 31:39[SPEAKER_02]: Gonna be published in November.
- 31:41[SPEAKER_02]: And I watched women,
- 31:45[SPEAKER_02]: go through the same awakening I've seen them gain the same benefits and then I've also learned that hormones decrease your chances of dementia, they increase your bone density, they protect your heart, protect your brain, I mean they protect against cancer, like the opposite of what we believed, there's some wild, there's just wild misinformation out there and women also have
- 32:15[SPEAKER_02]: and they're not looking at it as like a health benefit, just like, crazy.
- 32:20[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and you're right.
- 32:21[SPEAKER_02]: Protein, more, you're vitamin D, right?
- 32:25[SPEAKER_02]: Like, they think, oh no, I don't wanna start this thing because now I'm gonna be dependent on it.
- 32:29[SPEAKER_02]: That is not what hormones are.
- 32:31[SPEAKER_02]: I wish that hormones were called supplements.
- 32:33[SPEAKER_02]: I wish it was like your supplementing your testosterone, your supplementing your progesterone.
- 32:38[SPEAKER_02]: That's what you're doing.
- 32:41[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, we don't look at like having to take vitamin C every day as oh god, I'm going to be going to run it on it.
- 32:46[SPEAKER_00]: I need this.
- 32:47[SPEAKER_00]: I should get those.
- 32:48[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I guess, you know, people do want to think, I want to get this in a natural form.
- 32:53[SPEAKER_02]: That's fine.
- 32:54[SPEAKER_02]: But you can't, like, there's not food that has
- 32:59[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, right, backtrack.
- 33:01[SPEAKER_02]: There are foods that you can eat that help increase testosterone, like protein, right?
- 33:06[SPEAKER_02]: But when pairing menopause happens, your dramatically quickly dropping in hormones so fast, because your ovaries are dying.
- 33:16[SPEAKER_02]: It's not a nutritional situation.
- 33:19[SPEAKER_02]: Your ovaries are dying.
- 33:21[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, not eat enough to replace your overed dying.
- 33:26[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 33:26[SPEAKER_00]: Well, and like, I mean, if we really look at like human history, we didn't live as long as we are now.
- 33:32[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 33:33[SPEAKER_00]: Like we had babies at 16, 18.
- 33:36[SPEAKER_00]: that was like, what women are doing now in their 30s.
- 33:40[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 33:40[SPEAKER_00]: You know, so then by the time you were in 40s, you were like, you're really freaking old.
- 33:45[SPEAKER_00]: You were gonna die soon if you didn't die of like, in bit by snake or, you know, like, something wild in the wild west.
- 33:51[SPEAKER_00]: So just over a mankind, like, we have, we have to take that into consideration, like, oh, we're living longer.
- 33:58[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, we need a way to make our bodies
- 34:01[SPEAKER_00]: live longer and be at its peak performance too well into our 90s if we wanted.
- 34:06[SPEAKER_02]: I love when people are like, well, I just want to age naturally.
- 34:09[SPEAKER_02]: I was like, have you seen aging naturally?
- 34:12[SPEAKER_02]: Because our bodies were not built to live this long.
- 34:15[SPEAKER_02]: No.
- 34:16[SPEAKER_02]: And aging naturally right now is that your brain deteriorates.
- 34:20[SPEAKER_02]: Your heart deteriorates.
- 34:23[SPEAKER_02]: Your bones deteriorate.
- 34:24[SPEAKER_02]: That's aging naturally.
- 34:26[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 34:26[SPEAKER_02]: And that means that you're going to be dependent on outside care.
- 34:30[SPEAKER_02]: You're not going to get yourself off the toilet.
- 34:32[SPEAKER_02]: You're not going to drive.
- 34:33[SPEAKER_02]: You're not going to be able to think straight.
- 34:34[SPEAKER_02]: You won't remember your kid's names.
- 34:36[SPEAKER_02]: So which one is it?
- 34:39[SPEAKER_02]: Right?
- 34:39[SPEAKER_02]: Like, do you want to live in a body that supports you as long as you're on this planet?
- 34:44[SPEAKER_02]: Or do you want to just slowly deteriorate in the world that we've created with all the toxins and all the things?
- 34:51[SPEAKER_02]: to each their own, but hell's bells, as long as I am in this body, I would like it to function.
- 34:57[SPEAKER_00]: Oh my god, hell yeah.
- 34:59[SPEAKER_00]: And I just love that we're like having this conversation of like, you know, and you sharing that like, your doctor doesn't know all.
- 35:05[SPEAKER_00]: And how you explained that they live in this box and the patients that come in are in their box and their world and women need to hear this conversation.
- 35:14[SPEAKER_00]: from other women talking and sharing their experience and stuff because that's the only way we're going to learn.
- 35:20[SPEAKER_00]: You know, and there's going to be so many women listening more subtle that are going, oh my god, that's me.
- 35:26[SPEAKER_00]: Like they're either relating to things that you're saying or they went to their doctor and they got dismissed or, you know, and they're like, I thought this is just how I had to live.
- 35:34[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't know I could get that light turned back on.
- 35:36[SPEAKER_00]: So these these conversations podcast episodes like this, no, no freaking important.
- 35:41[SPEAKER_00]: People have no
- 35:43[SPEAKER_02]: Well, and here's the other thing that's happening right now in this world.
- 35:47[SPEAKER_02]: Now, apparently, I was like, this fad thing, viral everyone's talking about it and everyone's educating.
- 35:53[SPEAKER_02]: There's doctors that are incredible in and putting out really amazing books and documentaries and podcast and you could run yourself into the ground trying to become a hormone specialist and learning all of the things.
- 36:08[SPEAKER_02]: And I hope women,
- 36:10[SPEAKER_02]: get as much information as you feel comfortable with to be able to advocate for yourself.
- 36:15[SPEAKER_02]: But the end of the day, I personally don't want to, I didn't want to become a hormone specialist.
- 36:21[SPEAKER_02]: I was like, I don't, I don't, I don't want to.
- 36:24[SPEAKER_02]: I'm doing other things.
- 36:25[SPEAKER_02]: Right?
- 36:26[SPEAKER_02]: It's busy.
- 36:27[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I like a hundred books on the hormone therapy, and I have read very little of them.
- 36:32[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 36:32[SPEAKER_02]: And I, I
- 36:34[SPEAKER_02]: wanted to find the doctor that had the information.
- 36:37[SPEAKER_02]: I just give me a frequent phone number, give me a phone number, tell me which doctor to trust, tell me which doctor that was going to help me figure out my body and then put the things in me so I can be on my merry way and go do my things.
- 36:50[SPEAKER_02]: And that is where
- 36:52[SPEAKER_02]: what I've created comes in because I think that's the majority of women.
- 36:57[SPEAKER_02]: I think majority of women are not going to read these books.
- 36:59[SPEAKER_02]: I think majority of women are not going to sit and watch these documentaries and they literally just we just don't have time.
- 37:04[SPEAKER_02]: We don't have the bandwidth.
- 37:05[SPEAKER_02]: The most still get is a podcast like this.
- 37:07[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 37:08[SPEAKER_00]: Well, they're driving pieces.
- 37:09[SPEAKER_02]: And I was like, oh, I'm impairing men of pause.
- 37:11[SPEAKER_02]: And this is where I need to go.
- 37:13[SPEAKER_02]: And these are the doctors to trust.
- 37:14[SPEAKER_02]: And these are the doctors that have all the information.
- 37:16[SPEAKER_02]: Yep.
- 37:16[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, for me, I mean, again, they're women, they're like, go to all the webinars.
- 37:21[SPEAKER_02]: That's great, right?
- 37:23[SPEAKER_02]: Read all the books.
- 37:24[SPEAKER_02]: That's fine.
- 37:24[SPEAKER_02]: But I think women can get really caught up in gaining information.
- 37:28[SPEAKER_02]: And then never taking action.
- 37:29[SPEAKER_02]: And never doing the thing.
- 37:31[SPEAKER_02]: Because it's too much information.
- 37:34[SPEAKER_02]: And then we'd like literally still don't know where to go.
- 37:36[SPEAKER_02]: And that's where what ended up happening.
- 37:39[SPEAKER_02]: You know, I shared my surrounding talk.
- 37:40[SPEAKER_02]: It went viral over repulsion.
- 37:42[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, this is my crazy, right?
- 37:44[SPEAKER_02]: But at the end of the day, all of my comments were women saying where we go.
- 37:49[SPEAKER_02]: And there was literally no directory to send them.
- 37:53[SPEAKER_02]: You know, like that was like, you know, or the good hormone therapist not on like one directory.
- 37:59[SPEAKER_02]: And it's because a lot of these hormone therapy clinics are people that realized, oh, I'm not able to work with women on an individual basis.
- 38:11[SPEAKER_02]: inside the system, so women too, they left the system open their own clinic that's out of pocket so that they have the capacity to treat women individually because as long as you're in the insurance system, you're in a box of what insurance says you're allowed to have and that makes it so that you can't actually get this like really individualized care and I don't think we ever thought about that.
- 38:38[SPEAKER_02]: and open their own practice and then it's just word of mouth and that's why we can't find them.
- 38:42[SPEAKER_02]: That's why we don't know where to go until no.
- 38:44[SPEAKER_00]: Until now.
- 38:46[SPEAKER_00]: Because that's what you've built.
- 38:47[SPEAKER_00]: Like, I don't think our listeners don't like know that.
- 38:50[SPEAKER_00]: Like you have built this directory.
- 38:52[SPEAKER_00]: Like if people don't follow you or, you know, they're branded to everything.
- 38:55[SPEAKER_00]: You have built this directory to help women and get the help they need and go in the direction that they need to go in.
- 39:01[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 39:02[SPEAKER_02]: It's crazy.
- 39:03[SPEAKER_02]: It's ended up, I think, right now, we're over 600.
- 39:06[SPEAKER_02]: Those over 600 providers on their local telehealth.
- 39:10[SPEAKER_02]: And it's not just one method.
- 39:12[SPEAKER_02]: This is not just like the Marcelo approved method.
- 39:14[SPEAKER_02]: You can find Chinese medicine.
- 39:15[SPEAKER_02]: You can find
- 39:21[SPEAKER_02]: people that offer the full scope of looking at you as a whole picture.
- 39:26[SPEAKER_02]: That is the one thing that the director has gotten better and better because as we have found doctors were like, wait, that level of service is available.
- 39:35[SPEAKER_02]: We didn't know that.
- 39:36[SPEAKER_02]: Right, so then we like melt down everyone that doesn't do that whole service and then it's like oh, there's one more level, okay, why isn't everyone doing that and later go back to all of the physicians that we have on the list and be like, we would really suggest that you go get trained in this because women are going to start wanting this right, so we're like, basically rebuilding the women's health care system just from this one direction.
- 39:58[SPEAKER_00]: for real, for real.
- 40:00[SPEAKER_00]: And now you just launched a brand new website to tell us about it all the time.
- 40:05[SPEAKER_02]: So good.
- 40:05[SPEAKER_02]: Honestly in the beginning, I just started linking, right?
- 40:09[SPEAKER_02]: Like just it was this massive list.
- 40:10[SPEAKER_02]: It was like a hundred links so long.
- 40:13[SPEAKER_02]: And then it moved to the website.
- 40:14[SPEAKER_02]: I guess it was just a glorified site of linked lists.
- 40:17[SPEAKER_02]: And then now it's wake her up.co and it is gorgeous.
- 40:21[SPEAKER_02]: And you can have, it's not just the directory, but you've got the community.
- 40:25[SPEAKER_02]: There's over 60,000 women just
- 40:27[SPEAKER_02]: experience.
- 40:28[SPEAKER_02]: You also we because in that community we've been able to collect products that all of those women are also recommending and it's not just I know influencers and things like that they get paid to slot products in front of you.
- 40:41[SPEAKER_02]: What's so different about this is this is a collective equipment coming together voting, trying, sharing and then
- 40:49[SPEAKER_02]: I have to put my name behind this.
- 40:51[SPEAKER_02]: So I'm not going to just slap any company on there.
- 40:53[SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to go, I'm going to meet the CEO.
- 40:54[SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to make sure I know her.
- 40:57[SPEAKER_02]: What's her story?
- 40:58[SPEAKER_02]: Can we trust her?
- 40:59[SPEAKER_02]: Do we like her?
- 41:00[SPEAKER_02]: Is she doing this out of the right context of what wanting to actually help women?
- 41:04[SPEAKER_02]: And that's who we share on the website, not just the companies that want to pay to be there.
- 41:09[SPEAKER_02]: And in fact, no companies pay to be there.
- 41:11[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, they can pay
- 41:18[SPEAKER_00]: I love that.
- 41:18[SPEAKER_00]: And we need, like, because you're right, there's so many influencers out there right now, and like so much information and products.
- 41:25[SPEAKER_00]: And I mean, I could open up my social media right now, and I'll have like four ads running for anything.
- 41:30[SPEAKER_00]: Hair, health, protein, you know, and it's like, you have no clue what to trust anymore.
- 41:37[SPEAKER_00]: No.
- 41:37[SPEAKER_00]: So like, so important centers of websites like what you have when you're offering it is so important and it's so valuable to us now like I can't thank you enough for doing it and putting it together too and just being the voice for us and showing us the way.
- 41:55[SPEAKER_02]: I think it's the only way for us to trust stuff anymore, right?
- 41:57[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I know lots used to be where we could trust because people would just authentically share their reviews, but then people will start reading paid.
- 42:05[SPEAKER_02]: Now the only way to trust things is when the collective kind of takes us vote.
- 42:10[SPEAKER_02]: And that's really what I've tried to create and we're always supposed to trust that we can't trust studies obviously we can't trust the FDA we can't trust even some of the doctors because they have their own agenda right I don't expect anybody to even trust me like please don't right yeah like don't trust me I was one person having my own experience but like collectively
- 42:35[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I say that all the time too, I'm like, don't trust me.
- 42:37[SPEAKER_00]: Don't take my word for it.
- 42:39[SPEAKER_00]: Like go try it yourself.
- 42:41[SPEAKER_00]: Do some research, go out there and look, you know?
- 42:44[SPEAKER_00]: That's the only way to do it.
- 42:46[SPEAKER_00]: This stage of life right now, because you have three kids.
- 42:49[SPEAKER_00]: They're all like different stages, different levels.
- 42:51[SPEAKER_00]: And you've gone through different hormone shifts and changes as I with girls and teenagers and stuff.
- 42:57[SPEAKER_00]: I find it so interesting how much, you know, the moms can,
- 43:02[SPEAKER_00]: relate, we're like living these parallel universes with these teenagers in their hormones.
- 43:07[SPEAKER_00]: If we can just touch on that really quickly because I find it very interesting and women get told and labeled and I, you know, people think of us as like, oh, we're broken and she's old and like going through all just because there's hormone shifts happening.
- 43:21[SPEAKER_00]: It doesn't mean we're dying.
- 43:22[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, we don't look at teenagers and go, oh, you're broken.
- 43:25[SPEAKER_00]: Like something's wrong with you.
- 43:27[SPEAKER_00]: Like, oh, your youth is dying, you know, you're not at adolescent anymore.
- 43:32[SPEAKER_00]: Now you're a teenager.
- 43:32[SPEAKER_00]: So you're dying, like, oh, that's gross.
- 43:35[SPEAKER_02]: You know, like, no, we literally are like, oh, he's 15.
- 43:38[SPEAKER_02]: Like, it's like a past, right?
- 43:41[SPEAKER_02]: It's like a total crazy person when you're 15.
- 43:45[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 43:45[SPEAKER_00]: I just, I find it interesting how just it's something bad for us, you know, but teenagers.
- 43:51[SPEAKER_00]: It's like, oh, this is, you know, this is life and whatever.
- 43:54[SPEAKER_00]: And that's one thing I appreciate about you so much is that it's like, this isn't the end.
- 43:58[SPEAKER_00]: This isn't the death of you, you know, and I can really, because I'm the same way I'm like, excuse me, just because you've had kids doesn't mean that you can't be fucking fit and fabulous and hot.
- 44:09[SPEAKER_00]: you know, and you can redefine your body.
- 44:11[SPEAKER_00]: And I love how with you, you know, with metaphors in 35 older, I mean, let's be real, you know, you're not dying either.
- 44:19[SPEAKER_02]: No, I mean, think again, like a glimpse of these face, right?
- 44:23[SPEAKER_02]: As much as it sucks, girls are really uncomfortable in their body.
- 44:27[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, all teenagers are really uncomfortable in their body.
- 44:29[SPEAKER_02]: They've done a how to use their new long arms, right?
- 44:32[SPEAKER_02]: It's like a weird size in their body.
- 44:37[SPEAKER_02]: And also they're like starting to not like their parents are starting to sleep in and stay out late and I mean everything's weird new emotions now we're falling in love now we're kissing for the first time right there's a million new things and at the same time they're really uncomfortable everybody why aren't we looking at parametropods the same way yes okay everything sucks
- 44:59[SPEAKER_02]: It's really uncomfortable, but also you're awakening to new feelings, new perspectives.
- 45:05[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I left my religion.
- 45:06[SPEAKER_02]: I, you know, I mean, new ideas, new awarenesses.
- 45:12[SPEAKER_02]: And then we're like, I don't know how to deal with this.
- 45:14[SPEAKER_02]: Well, how do your kids do that?
- 45:16[SPEAKER_02]: They go sign up for all these different classes.
- 45:18[SPEAKER_02]: They go find new people.
- 45:20[SPEAKER_02]: They find new friends.
- 45:21[SPEAKER_02]: They yes, with people.
- 45:22[SPEAKER_02]: They
- 45:23[SPEAKER_02]: whatever right like that's how you do it go back to your 15 year old self and think what brought me life and light and joy and experience back then try those things if those things you can't do right now try new things just like if it's signed your 12 year old up for everything I've just signed so that she could find her people and find her thing right art class I don't know jiu jitsu really we're trying all the things piano
- 45:50[SPEAKER_02]: do that.
- 45:51[SPEAKER_02]: Like, that is what you should be doing.
- 45:53[SPEAKER_02]: You should try new things.
- 45:55[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I just started roller skating.
- 45:57[SPEAKER_02]: I was like, who's a really love roller skating?
- 46:00[SPEAKER_02]: And it is really uncomfortable.
- 46:01[SPEAKER_02]: But my body loves it.
- 46:03[SPEAKER_02]: And I started going to live concerts again.
- 46:06[SPEAKER_02]: Like, all these things seem like they're extra.
- 46:10[SPEAKER_02]: But
- 46:11[SPEAKER_02]: Can you imagine if 15-year-olds weren't doing any of that?
- 46:14[SPEAKER_02]: I know.
- 46:15[SPEAKER_02]: It would be really, really worried about your 15-year-old that wasn't leaving their house wasn't leaving their room with stuck on their phone.
- 46:22[SPEAKER_02]: Yep.
- 46:23[SPEAKER_02]: Like begging them to go try anything.
- 46:26[SPEAKER_02]: Something.
- 46:27[SPEAKER_02]: You don't even realize that we're doing that to ourselves.
- 46:30[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and women, we get stuck in like just these ruts of like work and kids in the home and bed and then the repeat every single day and I love that you're bringing light to the subject because it's so important like you do get to wake up at this age of life you do get to do new things you don't have to stay like dead inside and feel like soulless like there is hope.
- 46:54[SPEAKER_02]: And we talk about this like it's self-care.
- 46:56[SPEAKER_02]: It's not self-care.
- 46:57[SPEAKER_02]: It's going to be like a necessity of living.
- 47:00[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
- 47:00[SPEAKER_02]: We always have to joys this extra or we'll do it later.
- 47:04[SPEAKER_02]: No, like I just had the conversation with the friend yesterday.
- 47:07[SPEAKER_02]: We were for a long walk.
- 47:08[SPEAKER_02]: We were talking about how, you know, we whittled being a good mom down to providing the money and providing rides and providing food.
- 47:20[SPEAKER_02]: And we have not been taught that being a good mom is actually giving ourselves and how can our kids know who we are and benefit from who we are.
- 47:31[SPEAKER_02]: If we're not being ourselves.
- 47:37[SPEAKER_02]: really my kids benefit more from me going to a dance class and coming home they're in convenience they have to figure out their own rides, their own stuff, me coming home and joking around about showing them my dance and the whole night ends up like lit up and fun and exciting music.
- 47:54[SPEAKER_02]: That is more beneficial to my children and my family than getting to that on time doing our exact routine and me sacrificing my dance class so I can drive them to and from whatever they're doing.
- 48:07[SPEAKER_02]: And we do not do that enough.
- 48:10[SPEAKER_00]: I have to tell you real quickly because this is so like literally just yesterday.
- 48:15[SPEAKER_00]: I was telling Marcella, I just got back from the Baja 400, like down in the middle of freaking Mexico.
- 48:22[SPEAKER_00]: Yesterday was my daughter's birthday and, you know, she turned 20 and her dad, you know, we talked about, I'm like, I'm going to be gone.
- 48:31[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know what time I'm going to be back, but I'll be back on your birthday, you know, and stuff.
- 48:35[SPEAKER_00]: And the guilt Marcella wrapped around like,
- 48:39[SPEAKER_00]: not spending the entire day with her or like making her dinner like every fucking year I do it and it's fine I love it but like I'm like well her dad's home and he has a house and can make you know a meal and then I'll come and enjoy and when I can or just see her later and stuff and it was so hard to let go of that but like
- 48:57[SPEAKER_00]: I had an opportunity to do something so freaking cool and go off and like live and let it go of that guilt was it was real and I just I think it's so crazy how you're like talking like literally about like what I experienced yesterday of like what what would I do not go on the entire trip because the very last day was her birthday and what so I'd miss the entire experience.
- 49:20[SPEAKER_02]: Well, and worse than that, you're going to teach your daughter to sacrifice some beautiful amazing, once in a lifetime experience, to show up, to provide a cake to her daughter.
- 49:31[SPEAKER_02]: No, we have to stop doing this, like, worth asking me celebrated whenever they could be celebrated.
- 49:37[SPEAKER_02]: And you going and having this crazy amazing experience will teach your children that they matter, what they like matters, what likes them, up matters, having experiences in the world matter.
- 49:48[SPEAKER_02]: And I think your daughter was just fine.
- 49:51[SPEAKER_02]: Do you just find?
- 49:53[SPEAKER_00]: She had some friends over.
- 49:54[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 49:55[SPEAKER_00]: He had to make a meek.
- 49:56[SPEAKER_01]: I came on like, it's like, I'm giving you dad and looking with her.
- 50:00[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 50:00[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 50:01[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, girl.
- 50:01[SPEAKER_00]: I just love you so much.
- 50:03[SPEAKER_00]: I love every topic that we hit.
- 50:05[SPEAKER_00]: This was just like, I feel like we need to talk.
- 50:07[SPEAKER_00]: I'm like ours.
- 50:08[SPEAKER_02]: There's so many things.
- 50:10[SPEAKER_02]: I think we need to come back and talk about parenting teams.
- 50:13[SPEAKER_02]: I think that's like a really big topic in my life right now.
- 50:15[SPEAKER_02]: And I think it's really.
- 50:17[SPEAKER_02]: interesting to do that while you're in parry menopause.
- 50:20[SPEAKER_02]: I think there are so many beautiful conversations that I would love to share with you that I've had with my teens and get a little relate with them and be able to, I don't know, like go through this with them.
- 50:33[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
- 50:34[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 50:35[SPEAKER_00]: Let's do this again.
- 50:37[SPEAKER_02]: So there's so much goodness there.
- 50:39[SPEAKER_02]: And we're both doing it.
- 50:40[SPEAKER_02]: So we should chat about that.
- 50:41[SPEAKER_00]: We're doing a girl.
- 50:42[SPEAKER_00]: We're doing it.
- 50:42[SPEAKER_00]: That's for sure.
- 50:43[SPEAKER_00]: No, let's do it.
- 50:44[SPEAKER_00]: Let's I totally want to have you back on.
- 50:46[SPEAKER_00]: I think all of our listeners are going.
- 50:47[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, please do it.
- 50:50[SPEAKER_00]: I can hear him right now.
- 50:51[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, you're amazing.
- 50:52[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 50:52[SPEAKER_00]: Tell us again.
- 50:53[SPEAKER_00]: Where can we find you?
- 50:54[SPEAKER_00]: How can we follow you?
- 50:56[SPEAKER_00]: The directory website all of it.
- 50:57[SPEAKER_00]: And we'll put in the show notes too.
- 50:59[SPEAKER_02]: Come over to wakerup.co.
- 51:00[SPEAKER_02]: That's where we're going to find the directory that we talked a lot about.
- 51:03[SPEAKER_02]: We're going to find more information about pairing them to pause and symptoms, and where we're working all that.
- 51:08[SPEAKER_02]: And then you'll have the community there.
- 51:11[SPEAKER_02]: You can join the community there.
- 51:12[SPEAKER_02]: And then on social media, I'm being Marcella Hill along all of all the things, all the things.
- 51:18[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I love it.
- 51:19[SPEAKER_00]: I love it.
- 51:20[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you for coming on my friend.
- 51:22[SPEAKER_00]: And we're going to do this again.
- 51:23[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to talk about teens and dive into family.
- 51:25[SPEAKER_00]: I think this will be like great.
- 51:28[SPEAKER_00]: five.
- 51:29[SPEAKER_00]: You're sorry.
- 51:30[SPEAKER_00]: Let's be honest.
- 51:31[SPEAKER_00]: Let's be honest.
- 51:32[SPEAKER_00]: We've been on all that.
- 51:33[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 51:33[SPEAKER_00]: All right.
- 51:33[SPEAKER_00]: You guys check her out.
- 51:35[SPEAKER_00]: Listen to her podcast.
- 51:36[SPEAKER_00]: The wake up podcast.
- 51:37[SPEAKER_00]: That's phenomenal.
- 51:38[SPEAKER_00]: And we will have her back on.
- 51:40[SPEAKER_00]: Go to the show notes.
- 51:41[SPEAKER_00]: Everything will be there.
- 51:42[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you again, my friend.
- 51:43[SPEAKER_00]: This is incredible.
- 51:44[SPEAKER_00]: Everyone.
- 51:45[SPEAKER_00]: Stay safe.
- 51:45[SPEAKER_00]: Stay healthy.
- 51:46[SPEAKER_00]: Until next time.
