- 0:00Doing Marriage Well for July 10, 2026 Drunk on Love, Unlocking Sexual Freedom
- 0:06with Your Spouse Our final marriage freedom is the freedom to be yourself sexually.
- 0:12What does sexual freedom mean for those who follow Jesus?
- 0:15God is actually very pro-sex, as long as he's in marriage.
- 0:19The Song of Songs describes an amorous couple having sex in bed,
- 0:22the garden, and in the countryside.
- 0:25It includes descriptions of them giving each other both manual and oral sex.
- 0:29If it doesn't involve others, which eliminates porn, does not cause harm,
- 0:33and you both enjoy it, then it's okay with God, regardless of what your parents
- 0:37or the folks at church would think about it.
- 0:39God made us be able to enjoy sex in many ways. That was not a mistake,
- 0:43and He didn't fail to consider what we would do with the sexual desire and sexual parts He gave us.
- 0:48Both Song of Songs and Proverbs encouraged us to embrace an abandon in our intimacy
- 0:53that the Scripture likens to being intoxicated.
- 0:56If you grew up in the faith, odds are you were given in some unbiblical negative teaching about sex.
- 1:01If those things are still restraining your sex life, it's time to get free.
- 1:05That said, if you both enjoy vanilla sex, great. If you like a bit of spice
- 1:09on occasion, that's also great.
- 1:12And if most of your friends would turn beet red and be unable to speak,
- 1:14if they knew about how you enjoy God's gift of sex, that's great too.
- 1:19Giving each other sexual freedom does not mean anything goes.
- 1:22Not judging doesn't mean you have to say yes to everything your spouse proposes.
- 1:26You each get to say no, or maybe.
- 1:29Your sex life is between the two of you and God. No one else gets to have an
- 1:33opinion about it, and if you keep your sex life private, no one else will get worked up about it.
- 1:38I pray you will all walk in sexual freedom, however that looks in your marriage.
- 1:42Start by asking each other, and God, if there are any old, unbiblical teachings ruling your bedroom.
- 1:48This is Paul, reminding you that doing sex well looks different for every couple.
