- 0:34enjoy today's episode of The Hypnotist.
- 0:41Hi, it's Adam here. And in this episode of The
- 0:44Hypnotist, you're going to be listening to a hypnosis session
- 0:47that was designed to help someone going through an
- 0:51emotionally difficult time. The client that I was working
- 0:54with was dealing in the aftermath not just of a
- 0:58separation, but a separation with someone that was actively
- 1:03trying to trigger them and to exploit the situation for their
- 1:08own gains. And because of that, it left
- 1:10them in a very vulnerable position.
- 1:13A lot of stress, a lot of anxiety, a lot of uncertainty.
- 1:17And because of. That they were low on
- 1:19motivation, high on stress, high on anxiety, and that wasn't?
- 1:22Conducive to. What they wanted to be at this
- 1:26particular time in their life. They could remember a time,
- 1:29however, after a breakup, where they also felt low and stressed
- 1:35and a bit lethargic. And in that case they used to
- 1:39sport. And that sport was playing polo.
- 1:42It's the sport where you ride horses and you have to score a
- 1:46goal in the in the opponent's net, I believe.
- 1:49But that game of polo really enabled them to.
- 1:53Take. All of those emotions and find a
- 1:56way of distracting themselves, really throwing themselves into
- 1:59something new. And that was really helpful.
- 2:02And by getting into that state, that opened up lots of
- 2:05opportunities for new skills, new friendships, new
- 2:09experiences, travel, all of that kind of stuff.
- 2:11And they spent a lot of time traveling overseas, particularly
- 2:15in Argentina when they were learning polo, and because that
- 2:18was a time in their life when they felt particularly
- 2:22resourceful. We use.
- 2:24Regression to that time to help them to really feel that
- 2:29actually they can get themselves in a resourceful.
- 2:32State a state. Where they can feel liberated
- 2:36and free and stimulated and enthusiastic and really
- 2:39resilient as well. And then we future pace that to
- 2:43their current situation. So that rather than dwelling on
- 2:47the negative elements of their situation or wallowing in a a
- 2:51sense of feeling vulnerable, instead we want to access an
- 2:56empowered. State where they.
- 2:57Actually feel that actually this is a great opportunity to pursue
- 3:04things that maybe they couldn't have pursued if they weren't in
- 3:07the situation that they're in. So there's an element of looking
- 3:10at it as a lens of empowerment and freedom rather than feeling
- 3:15trapped and in a precarious situation.
- 3:19And then we also future pace, because this is clearly going to
- 3:21be a temporary period in their life to two years in the future
- 3:25where they can see that actually this was a rough period, but a
- 3:28rough period that actually gave them positive experiences and
- 3:32moments, even though it was a difficult time.
- 3:35So there's a bit going on here. You don't need to have to be
- 3:38going through a breakup or going through anything in particular
- 3:42if. You feel.
- 3:43Low on motivation or you feel with a high level of financial
- 3:47stress or just stress in general, I think you'll benefit
- 3:49from this situation. Just be aware of course, that it
- 3:52was created for an individual. It's unlikely that you have had
- 3:57experience playing polo or you want to learn how to ride a
- 4:00motorbike. These are unlikely things
- 4:03happening in your life, so just disregard any suggestions that
- 4:06are irrelevant. Honing onto the suggestions that
- 4:09are relevant, and if you do like the idea of a session entirely
- 4:13calibrated and bespoke to you and your situation, look at the
- 4:16description for a link to. Schedule A free.
- 4:19Consultation call. For now, though, find a quiet,
- 4:22comfortable place where you won't be disturbed.
- 4:25Relax and enjoy the session. Take a deep breath in and on the
- 5:12outward breath as it close your eyes breathing in relaxation and
- 5:21exhaling tension that's in. As you breathe in, just allow
- 5:29yourself to breathe in slower and deeper, and as you release,
- 5:37just elongate the outward breath to really.
- 5:40Feel. That you're releasing and maybe
- 5:45you're releasing stored up tension, stresses or worries and
- 5:53start to make the evaluation that these emotions often are
- 5:59experienced physically, quite often stresses locked in the
- 6:07muscle tissue around the jaw, the forehead, the neck or the
- 6:13shoulders. And often anxieties are there in
- 6:20the gut or the chest. But imagine as you breathe in,
- 6:29you're breathing in not just relaxation, but resourceful
- 6:35relaxation. Imagine a warm colour glowing
- 6:42yellow and orange. And as you breathe in, imagine
- 6:48that resourceful relaxation is that glowing yellow or orange.
- 6:58And imagine your heart does with that resourceful relaxation what
- 7:05it does with oxygen. Imagine your heart absorbing
- 7:13that resource for relaxation and then distributing it to every
- 7:20cell in your body. Imagine that warm glow melting
- 7:29away that stress, those worries, that tension.
- 7:37That's it. As you feel your eyelids getting
- 7:40heavier and more relaxed, focusing on the tiny muscles in
- 7:45your forehead, those muscles responsible for expressions like
- 7:51surprise or concern, feel the resource for relaxation, melting
- 7:57that tension away. Allow that relaxation to ripple
- 8:07down into your jaw. Quite often, tension in the jaw
- 8:16is the Canary in the coal mine, lets you know how stressed or
- 8:22tense you are. But as you breathe in that
- 8:26resourceful relaxation, feel your jaw relaxing, letting you
- 8:33know that you're able to release those emotions that aren't here
- 8:42now. They're just echoes.
- 8:46Echoes of a time when that stress, that anxiety was
- 8:51completely proportionate and valid.
- 8:55But right here, now, you don't need to hold on to that tension
- 9:01as you start to imagine any stress in your neck and
- 9:05shoulders as crystals of ice fused into your muscle tissue.
- 9:13But as you breathe in that warm colour of resourceful
- 9:17relaxation, just imagine it melting away that frozen muscle
- 9:25tissue. Perhaps you could imagine an ice
- 9:31cube or a child's ice cream melting away in the sun, and it
- 9:36feels like tension in your body is melting away just like that.
- 9:45And as you release that tension, feel the relaxation flowing down
- 9:49your arms. So your arms are feeling limp,
- 9:53loose and heavy like the limbs of a puppet with no strings.
- 10:00As you breathe in, breathe in that glowing, resourceful
- 10:04relaxation. But imagine a dark colour
- 10:09leaving your body in your outward breath.
- 10:12Gray shadow is representing anything unresourceful.
- 10:19Just imagine that leaving your body as each breath becomes a
- 10:24transfusion, giving your body the resources and emotions that
- 10:31are useful and releasing the echoes of those emotions that
- 10:38you don't need right now. Some people believe that what
- 10:45actually happens isn't as important as the meaning
- 10:51attributed to that thing. I want you to get a sense that
- 11:02sometimes horrible things can happen but can be given an
- 11:09empowering positive meaning as you think back to your past.
- 11:18Maybe there was a time when something emotionally
- 11:22devastating happened, a major breakup, and your initial
- 11:28reaction was sadness, ruminating thoughts, low energy until you
- 11:39found a distraction. But the distraction was just a
- 11:45stepping stone to something so much more empowering.
- 11:52Imagine going back in time and seeing that version of you,
- 11:58perhaps in your 20s, in the immediate aftermath of that
- 12:03major breakup. A time when you were withdrawn,
- 12:10low energy, lacking motivation to do anything, just taking each
- 12:16day see yourself forcing yourself to even eat or sleep,
- 12:23to wash, just going through the motions.
- 12:30But as you observe that version of you, I want you to see a
- 12:38catalyst. And maybe it came from
- 12:41inspiration, your intuition, or just a decision.
- 12:48See that younger version of you deciding to throw yourself into
- 12:53something, something that you didn't have the competency,
- 13:02knowledge or connections to do, but you did it anyway.
- 13:08And maybe for you, that was a new sport.
- 13:12So see that younger version of you not half heartedly trying
- 13:18something. See yourself immersed,
- 13:26committed, perhaps even obsessed at times in that new thing.
- 13:35Some people believe in the idea of the law of dominant effect
- 13:43that are more dominant emotion displaces a less intense
- 13:47emotion. And maybe that enthusiasm, that
- 13:54interest, that passion for this new sport displaced the sadness
- 14:06or perhaps the low energy we need to get a sand.
- 14:15Then you already have evidence from your past of seizing an
- 14:24opportunity of going from low mood to intense enthusiasm and
- 14:36even joy. And each time you tried, you
- 14:42learned something new. Your competence and confidence
- 14:46grew, which then opened new doors of possibility.
- 14:54New friends, new connections, new adventures.
- 15:01And I want you to see that version of you, perhaps just
- 15:05months after that major breakup, travelling to Argentina.
- 15:15I want you to see that that low energy, that sadness had been
- 15:21replaced with something much more powerful.
- 15:28Maybe you see yourself with that confidence.
- 15:37I want you to see how you looked safe, that you were respected,
- 15:49but there was also so much pride coming from getting better.
- 15:58You see yourself on a horse, and in that moment the mindfulness
- 16:09wasn't an Eastern philosophy, it was a prerequisite for you
- 16:16playing a game. You couldn't play that game well
- 16:23if your mind is off in all different places.
- 16:30Feeling the vibration of the horse, the movement, the
- 16:35location of other players. All those moving parts required
- 16:41full mindfulness, and in those moments, nothing else mattered.
- 16:50Maybe you were accessing a state known as flow, sufficient
- 16:58stimulation and challenge and a requirement of full mindfulness.
- 17:08Imagine stepping into that version of you, feeling
- 17:13resourceful, confident and mindful.
- 17:18Feel that you are reawakening those same neural pathways
- 17:22within you and enjoyment, confidence, fashion and
- 17:34enthusiasm. Feel your awakening all of those
- 17:37states. And remember back then that when
- 17:43you felt that way, good things happened.
- 17:48New friendships, new connections, new experiences,
- 17:52wonderful memories. It naturally flowed from you
- 17:56being in a good state. I want you to think of a place
- 18:03back there on that ranch in Argentina, a place perhaps that
- 18:11you would see the sunset, a time of perhaps reflection or
- 18:22relaxation. And just imagine you're back
- 18:25there, feeling that confidence, that energy, that
- 18:30resourcefulness, noticing how free you are.
- 18:38I want you to think forwards to a future that hadn't happened
- 18:42yet, A time when you were going through another difficult period
- 18:48in your life, but perhaps years into the future.
- 18:55Imagine that 25 year old version of you feeling all of that
- 19:01confidence and energy, self respect, motivation and
- 19:05enthusiasm. Looking forward to seeing a
- 19:07version of you also going through a difficult time.
- 19:14And I want you to see see yourself doing something on a
- 19:19motorcycle. But those ruminating thoughts,
- 19:28distractions, impeded your ability to get what you desire,
- 19:33more freedom. But imagine rewinding that and
- 19:41seeing yourself on the motorbike in the same way that you have
- 19:47been on a horse. Feeling that flow state, fully
- 19:50mindful, aware of all the moving parts.
- 19:54Knowing that you can make those great choices of knowing exactly
- 19:59what to do and then see. See yourself doing what's
- 20:07necessary to get that license. And then see yourself with a
- 20:14similar expression on a motorbike that maybe in the past
- 20:19you've had on a horse. Sense of adventure, Freedom.
- 20:26The whole world is your oyster geographically, but also in
- 20:34terms of new connections. Just imagine a ripple effect.
- 20:44By reawakening that resourceful state, you throw yourself into
- 20:50new challenges, new experiences. I want you to see yourself
- 20:59riding on a Harley-Davidson in Arizona.
- 21:04There is no anxiety on your face, no stress.
- 21:08There's the opposite. See yourself looking confident,
- 21:15competent with freedom feeling. Then you are evolving to a
- 21:28version of you that is you at your very best, strong fit in a
- 21:39flow state. And then perhaps imagine
- 21:43yourself on a different motorbike, this time in Spain,
- 21:51and you can tell from the terrain, the road signs, see
- 21:59yourself again in that flow state.
- 22:04And from these perspectives, you are awakening a version of you
- 22:13that is resilient, determined. I want you to see that safety
- 22:27comes not from the absence of risks, but the resources that
- 22:33exist to mitigate any circumstance.
- 22:39Riding on a horse can be dangerous, but not if you know
- 22:42what you're doing. Riding a motorcycle can be
- 22:46dangerous, but not if you're skilled.
- 22:50Navigating certain periods in a life can hold its risks, but not
- 22:56if you meet those risks with courage and confidence, a sense
- 23:01of conviction that things will work out fine.
- 23:07Then I want you to see that future version of you with this
- 23:12new lease of life, going on dates, enjoying the freedom with
- 23:21that freedom comes from seeing people you want to see exploring
- 23:26new parts of the world, or the freedom of just getting on a
- 23:31motorbike and going wherever you want to go.
- 23:34See that version of you with a new lease of life?
- 23:45And when you can see that future version of you with that, let me
- 23:49know about nodding your head. And then step into that version
- 24:02of you thinking about what it means to have an adventure.
- 24:14If something's easy, has no challenge, has no risk, that
- 24:20isn't an adventure. It is the difficulties, the
- 24:27adversity, the challenge, the navigating of decisions,
- 24:35choices. That's what makes it an
- 24:40adventure. And when you think back to what
- 24:48things really mean, sit, breathe in, breathe in.
- 24:51Let's sit deeper, relaxed. I want you to get a sand then,
- 25:00where focus goes, energy flows, and sometimes the emotions we
- 25:06feel a reflection not of reality, but of the meaning that
- 25:10we give it. And what if you were to give
- 25:15this chapter in your life an empowering meaning?
- 25:23That meaning could be freedom. The meaning could be recharging
- 25:30your batteries, restoring who you truly are.
- 25:37The meaning could be an adventure.
- 25:41And the more empowering the meaning you give this chapter of
- 25:46your life, the more positive, empowering and strong, useful
- 25:54emotions naturally will come up. You always have choices.
- 26:05You can choose where you live, what you do, who you see and
- 26:14what you do with your time. I want you to feel that.
- 26:20Any sensations of feeling trapped are now being replaced
- 26:24with a feeling of freedom and liberation.
- 26:29You're not trapped, you're liberated.
- 26:34Lean into that liberated feeling and allow your unconscious and
- 26:41intuition to guide you on this journey, activating the version
- 26:47of you that will make the most not of an easy time.
- 26:56In fact, the time may be challenging.
- 27:00The fact that it's challenging is what gives it the
- 27:03significance, giving you more resilience, even more
- 27:10confidence, a sense that if you can get through this, you can
- 27:16get through anything. People get stronger in a gym,
- 27:22not by lifting easy weights, lifting heavier weights, and
- 27:28stamina grows when you push beyond your limits.
- 27:35Consider this period an adventure that requires growth
- 27:42and evolution for you to become better and more resilient and
- 27:50more equipped than ever before. And then let's go one step
- 27:58further in the future. Imagine yourself perhaps 2 years
- 28:01from now. The difficult period is now
- 28:06behind you. But I want you to imagine
- 28:10looking back at that difficult period with a sense of pride,
- 28:16that you met that challenge and adversity with the very best
- 28:23version of you. That it couldn't break you and
- 28:29in fact, it did make you stronger.
- 28:35Allow a seed of an idea to be planted deep in your
- 28:37subconscious mind that you will make this time work for you, not
- 28:42against you, and any challenges and difficulties just give you
- 28:48even more strength and resilience.
- 28:54Learning to play polo wasn't easy, but it certainly was
- 29:00worthwhile. And sometimes difficult journeys
- 29:05lead to worthwhile destinations. So as you hold that thought,
- 29:10it's time to drift all the way back, back to that a place in
- 29:17Argentina, and then back to where we are right now.
- 29:21But feeling a new sense of resourcefulness, a new lease of
- 29:25life and you empowering meaning that you give this time that
- 29:33recharges you and springs you forward, not drains you and
- 29:38holds you back. So take a deep breath in through
- 29:41your nose and out through your nose.
- 29:46Wiggle your fingers and wiggle your toes.
- 29:48Connect and calibrate into the here and the now as I now count
- 29:53from 1:00 to 10:00 to awaken you.
- 29:56You will awaken feeling resourceful, recharged with a
- 30:02desire to pursue freedom, adventures and lean into
- 30:10adversity to give you more resilience.
- 30:12Starting to count 123 Waking up 456.
- 30:19More alert 7-8 Open your eyes. Open your eyes 910.
- 30:24Wide awake, Wide awake. Wide awake.
