- 0:00SPEAKER_00: Welcome to the Brain's Body Podcast.
- 0:02SPEAKER_00: I'm Dr.
- 0:02SPEAKER_00: Christopher Kevin Slayton, your host.
- 0:04SPEAKER_00: And I want you to know that the new book is out Humanism Science, Brain Thinking, Improving Information Processing, and the Crises of Self.
- 0:14SPEAKER_00: Know how you think.
- 0:15SPEAKER_00: Think for yourself.
- 0:16SPEAKER_00: That's what we're talking about.
- 0:17SPEAKER_00: Those are the descriptors.
- 0:18SPEAKER_00: And I've been talking about it in other episodes, but I want to bring it home today.
- 0:24SPEAKER_00: Because there are a lot of children, youth, young adults, and parents in crises because of communication breakdown.
- 0:31SPEAKER_00: And when you read my material, what I'm trying to get you to understand is that you start from where you are.
- 0:37SPEAKER_00: You don't try to be something that you're not.
- 0:40SPEAKER_00: You ground yourself understanding how your brain interacts with that child or other people who you're having difficulty with.
- 0:51SPEAKER_00: And as you begin to understand how your body reacts to that tension, stress, and pressure, you begin to understand the problem.
- 0:59SPEAKER_00: And as you move through the crisis intervention of self first in relation to the other person, now you're creating a space for thought and reflection through you.
- 1:12SPEAKER_00: Because now your brain's in the leader of transaction, because you're informing yourself on how to discipline your body long enough to experience information processing.
- 1:25SPEAKER_00: Truly, this is Dr.
- 1:27SPEAKER_00: Sladen Live coming to you because I talk about the crisis self, and many people don't really understand what I'm talking about.
- 1:35SPEAKER_00: Okay, so you have identity formation.
- 1:38SPEAKER_00: So what happens when a person changes their self physically?
- 1:44SPEAKER_00: I mean, you know, you got brown eyes and you go put some blue eyes inside your head.
- 1:50SPEAKER_00: That's identity formation, where you're saying you want to look like something else externally, but that's also a message internally about some level of confusion or some level of compromising your identity, your sense of feel.
- 2:13SPEAKER_00: You're not comfortable with the way you feel about you.
- 2:16SPEAKER_00: Crisis intervention develops because you need to understand the brain.
- 2:23SPEAKER_00: Because it is not the mind, they teach you about the mind because that's socialization.
- 2:28SPEAKER_00: Your mind is your personality, your attitude, your character, and your behavior.
- 2:37SPEAKER_00: And I teach those four variables grounded in home, your personality, school, your attitude, character, your neighborhood, workplace, your behavior.
- 2:51SPEAKER_00: Because structurally, you want to move through home, school, nade, and workplace networks and begin to realize how to manage and control your behavior.
- 3:01SPEAKER_00: And it's easier for you to move through brain-body learning, understanding that you're being grounded in the economic system of family education, government, and business affairs.
- 3:14SPEAKER_00: So that as you move through it, you're actually improving your investment in self.
- 3:21SPEAKER_00: Self is an investment, and as you invest in self, you want to see a profit.
- 3:25SPEAKER_00: So the profit is clarity of who you are and what you're becoming.
- 3:31SPEAKER_00: It's called progressive investing inside the book.
- 3:34SPEAKER_00: Progressive investing.
- 3:35SPEAKER_00: Living each day to become more informed.
- 3:38SPEAKER_00: And what does that mean?
- 3:39SPEAKER_00: About how your brain, body, and senses are organized to respond to the environment and to respond to other people and to respond to self because you, when you're in crises, you have these inner voices that are very confusing because they're telling you to do things that you may not be comfortable with doing brain talk.
- 4:06SPEAKER_00: I talk about in the book.
- 4:08SPEAKER_00: That's why I talk about brain talk.
- 4:10SPEAKER_00: You're not crazy.
- 4:12SPEAKER_00: Your brain is a problem-solving instrument, and it uses the experience of self, other people, and the environment to evolve responsibly to the things that you come in contact with.
- 4:27SPEAKER_00: And it's because you rushed through it that you don't understand the fundamentals of how to sense, to feel, accept the way you feel, let that flow through.
- 4:38SPEAKER_00: It doesn't mean you're soft, it doesn't mean you're emotional.
- 4:41SPEAKER_00: It means that you are connecting your brain and body to the neurophysical sites of you.
- 4:48SPEAKER_00: Now you are preparing yourself to respond, not react.
- 4:52SPEAKER_00: Now you could have reacted, but this is what you experience.
- 4:55SPEAKER_00: Now, when you've been in a situation and you reacted, and then you continue to process the reaction.
- 5:04SPEAKER_00: So that's the brain.
- 5:05SPEAKER_00: Because the body has to allow the brain to catch back up.
- 5:11SPEAKER_00: That's your sense of feel.
- 5:13SPEAKER_00: Because your sense of feel is the process variable.
- 5:15SPEAKER_00: Okay, I may have done that, but now I'm focusing.
- 5:19SPEAKER_00: Now, what I need to do to counteract my own reaction.
- 5:23SPEAKER_00: This is brain talk.
- 5:25SPEAKER_00: This is how we talk, this is how we write, this is how we perform, because you want to reach that maximum level of self-understanding, self-actualization.
- 5:37SPEAKER_00: And in the book, I talk about Maslow and the hierarchy of needs, but in relation to four variables, how you move through the contact, how you move through interaction, how you move through cooperation, how you move through participation, because participation is the ultimate level of functionality.
- 5:55SPEAKER_00: When your brain, body, and senses are moving through received path functions at a rate of speed that you can realize rationally.
- 6:05SPEAKER_00: No, because you have a human system that moves at light speed, but you have to understand when you're grounded in self-understanding that that all slows down.
- 6:18SPEAKER_00: So when things are happening to you, you are able to slow yourself down.
- 6:24SPEAKER_00: Be cool, calm, and collected because you're prepared to understand the flow of information to your brain and how your brain will release that forward feed because you are driving the car.
- 6:38SPEAKER_00: Now it wouldn't make sense for me to say unless I'm talking about self.
- 6:42SPEAKER_00: And when I talk about self, I'm talking about the individual, you, the person inside the body, that at the breath of life is evolving in levels of awareness and self-actualization through information processing.
- 6:58SPEAKER_00: Because you have to inform the brain to discipline the body to focus the senses through a sense of feel, that that connection between the brain and the body that's transferred through the senses.
- 7:12SPEAKER_00: And now you have an identity and an awareness of who you are.
- 7:18SPEAKER_00: Now you got to actualize it.
- 7:20SPEAKER_00: And that's what the games and other practice inside the book is telling you.
- 7:25SPEAKER_00: Practice these things to begin to realize your full potential as a human system.
- 7:33unknown: Dr.
- 7:33SPEAKER_00: Slate Live, tuning out, tuning out, pick up the new book.
- 7:37SPEAKER_00: I'll say it again human system science, brain thinking, improving information processing, and the crisis itself.
- 7:46SPEAKER_00: Dr.
- 7:47SPEAKER_00: Slate Live, tuning out, tuning out.
- 7:49SPEAKER_00: Thank you very much.
