- 0:03Speaker 1: She's on The Money Radio Show.
- 0:07Speaker 2: With Victoria Divine starts now, Hello and welcome to the
- 0:11Speaker 2: She's on The Money Radio Show podcast. The radio show
- 0:14Speaker 2: podcast for millennials who want financial freedom.
- 0:17Speaker 1: I feel like I'm getting better at that.
- 0:19Speaker 3: You are getting better and better as the gone by
- 0:22Speaker 3: six months and we're still not there, but we are
- 0:24Speaker 3: working on it together as a team.
- 0:27Speaker 1: Cute Victoria, Miss Victoria.
- 0:30Speaker 2: Yeah, about to say, Mitchie, you went to the bathroom beforehand.
- 0:35Speaker 2: You didn't actually see the photos that Victoria showed me
- 0:39Speaker 2: of her wedding dress number one amazing.
- 0:42Speaker 1: I've seen the articles.
- 0:43Speaker 4: God, I've read the front page of every every you
- 0:45Speaker 4: can't make you gotta.
- 0:46Speaker 3: Wait for haven't come out? Yeah, they haven't come out yet.
- 0:50Speaker 4: About I get express screenings you see, okay to me before.
- 0:55Speaker 3: Becauseous I did text him some so it makes sense.
- 0:59Speaker 1: Tell us about it.
- 1:00Speaker 3: Oh my god, best day of my life. I feel
- 1:01Speaker 3: like everyone says that. I we was also going to
- 1:03Speaker 3: say the cliched oh my god, it flew by, because
- 1:06Speaker 3: it also did. But it was honestly magic, Like I
- 1:09Speaker 3: could not have asked for better weather. Like I feel
- 1:11Speaker 3: like our weather was so lucky in Melbourne for the
- 1:14Speaker 3: entire week before our wedding it was storming and then
- 1:17Speaker 3: it was a perfect day, twenty two degrees sunny, little
- 1:20Speaker 3: clouds in the sky. Was a ten out of ten
- 1:22Speaker 3: from my perspective.
- 1:23Speaker 2: I went to a wedding the week before in Perth,
- 1:25Speaker 2: and Perth is usually amazing wedding weather and literally amazing
- 1:30Speaker 2: weather all the way up on the Saturday when they
- 1:32Speaker 2: got married, absolutely storming. Had to change their wedding venue,
- 1:36Speaker 2: No the day before.
- 1:38Speaker 3: Oh my heart, I would have been so stressed. I'm
- 1:40Speaker 3: so grateful to have had it at the venue we
- 1:42Speaker 3: had it at, like because everything was in one location.
- 1:45Speaker 3: So we got married where the reception was, where where
- 1:47Speaker 3: the after party was, and where the recovery party was,
- 1:50Speaker 3: so we didn't even leave that location for the entire weekend.
- 1:53Speaker 3: It was the best.
- 1:54Speaker 2: What was the one thing that stands out in your mind?
- 1:56Speaker 2: Like one little moment you were like, well.
- 1:58Speaker 3: Walking down the aisle one hundred percent walking down the
- 2:00Speaker 3: aisle with my dad and seeing Steve there crying and
- 2:03Speaker 3: our dog being like hi mom. At the end. It
- 2:05Speaker 3: was so sweet, was so so sweet. If you ever
- 2:09Speaker 3: get married so stereotypical, you're going to.
- 2:11Speaker 1: Cry like I cry at other people's weddings. I don't reckon.
- 2:14Speaker 1: I'll be able to even say my vows. MITCHI, how
- 2:15Speaker 1: do you reckon?
- 2:16Speaker 4: You would go, oh my god, trav I said this
- 2:18Speaker 4: on the show this week, which you'll hear. I cried
- 2:19Speaker 4: watching the Block for.
- 2:20Speaker 3: Now last Yeah, you're in trouble.
- 2:23Speaker 4: Look, it's really bad. And I cried at the end.
- 2:27Speaker 4: Out of the auctions.
- 2:27Speaker 3: We both cried the entire time, which is not what
- 2:30Speaker 3: I expected. I would like to think that I'm a
- 2:32Speaker 3: really well spoken young lady. So I had practiced my
- 2:35Speaker 3: vows and made sure that I was like, you know,
- 2:37Speaker 3: knowing what was coming, because you don't want to stumble.
- 2:40Speaker 3: All I did was like I was just crying and crying.
- 2:44Speaker 3: So with Steve so like kind of made it a
- 2:46Speaker 3: little bit wholesome, a little bit lame, but definitely unforgettable.
- 2:49Speaker 1: You know that he is a lobster.
- 2:50Speaker 3: So he is his best man. Speech referenced to a
- 2:54Speaker 3: number of different animals. But we won't go there. We'll
- 2:57Speaker 3: keep some things about the wedding private.
- 2:58Speaker 2: I think this week on the SHO show, we got
- 3:00Speaker 2: the Block guys Sarah, Jane and Tom.
- 3:02Speaker 4: Yeah, that was tragic. So if you missed it right.
- 3:04Speaker 4: Tom and Sarah Jane with the front runners the whole season.
- 3:07Speaker 4: Tom was one of the only contestants that had actual
- 3:10Speaker 4: trading experiences. He's got his own plumbing business. Sarah Jane's
- 3:13Speaker 4: a social worker. They were great, had a great attitude,
- 3:15Speaker 4: and they won a whole bunch of challenges early in
- 3:17Speaker 4: the season, so they got a massive cash injection. So
- 3:20Speaker 4: sort of objectively they had the best house right, they
- 3:23Speaker 4: went second. They got to pick the order of the auctions,
- 3:26Speaker 4: and they put themselves second, thinking sell the first one
- 3:29Speaker 4: and then they have to.
- 3:30Speaker 5: Go above that.
- 3:31Speaker 3: Yeah, that's the same one with.
- 3:33Speaker 4: The golden dress.
- 3:34Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, that's you Vine, the dress.
- 3:38Speaker 3: You did not wrong.
- 3:39Speaker 4: Anyway, it didn't work in their favor. They went over
- 3:41Speaker 4: their reserve by twenty k, which meant the household they
- 3:43Speaker 4: made twenty k was tragic for them, and we chatted
- 3:46Speaker 4: them all about it. Also THEE and I discover we
- 3:49Speaker 4: get an exclusive here. In fact, they're thinking about OnlyFans
- 3:52Speaker 4: and seriously thinking about putting photos of themselves online, and
- 3:55Speaker 4: we talk about that.
- 3:56Speaker 3: Yeah, genius, genius. I mean, I don't know how serious
- 3:59Speaker 3: they were about it, but like there is definitely a
- 4:01Speaker 3: market for people who want photos that they're they're pitching, so.
- 4:05Speaker 1: Get you off, gets you off.
- 4:08Speaker 3: We've all been there.
- 4:10Speaker 1: Of course, you love a good croc, so I do.
- 4:13Speaker 3: I do. I actually have to give my friends at
- 4:16Speaker 3: seven eleven a call because they do coffee cup crop Gibbets.
- 4:20Speaker 3: What are they called?
- 4:22Speaker 1: Yes, what's the same?
- 4:23Speaker 3: I desperately warm one. I actually slid into their DMS.
- 4:26Speaker 3: I've never slid into any company's DMS and asked for
- 4:28Speaker 3: anything in my entire life, because that gives me the
- 4:30Speaker 3: heby GBI's you know when people are like, oh, just
- 4:33Speaker 3: for free, because you've got na nah. But I did
- 4:35Speaker 3: slide into seven eleven's DMS. I said, what does it
- 4:38Speaker 3: take for me to get a coffee cup gibbets?
- 4:41Speaker 1: Amazing?
- 4:42Speaker 2: Let's slide into the show right now. She's on The
- 4:45Speaker 2: Money Radio show starts right now. Yeah, for your Saturday
- 4:48Speaker 2: morning it's She's on the Money Radio Show with Australia's
- 4:50Speaker 2: number one finance podcast of Victoria Devine. We've got mixed
- 4:53Speaker 2: cury as well. But guys, bad news. The world's about
- 4:57Speaker 2: to end financially.
- 4:58Speaker 3: V How many times does that happened in the past?
- 5:00Speaker 3: Trav I feel like it's happened a million times before,
- 5:03Speaker 3: and that's why we're talking about it today, because it
- 5:06Speaker 3: shouldn't be something that stresses you out. The economy in
- 5:09Speaker 3: general comes in ebbs and flows, and they say that
- 5:12Speaker 3: the economy does reset itself every seven years, So it
- 5:15Speaker 3: should be expected because there's been a while since we
- 5:17Speaker 3: had our last recession, and our biggest last recession was
- 5:20Speaker 3: obviously the global financial crisis that happened in two thousand
- 5:22Speaker 3: and eight two thousand and nine, and I feel like
- 5:24Speaker 3: after COVID, we're kind of due for a bit of
- 5:26Speaker 3: a financial reset. We're seeing the cash rates go up,
- 5:28Speaker 3: We're seeing our mortgages cost us more. Last week on
- 5:31Speaker 3: the show, we talked about how our mortgages, given the
- 5:34Speaker 3: seven consecutive rate rises over the last seven months, are
- 5:38Speaker 3: now costing you eight hundred and fifteen dollars per month
- 5:42Speaker 3: more on a five hundred dollars mortgage, which is insane.
- 5:45Speaker 3: Like people are finding that their purse strings are a
- 5:47Speaker 3: little tighter than they used to be. So we need
- 5:49Speaker 3: to talk about these things to one normalize what's going on.
- 5:53Speaker 3: But two, what's a recession? Do we even know?
- 5:55Speaker 5: No?
- 5:55Speaker 4: I remember when I was a kid, right, and my
- 5:57Speaker 4: parents would throw around GFC and I'm like, are we
- 5:59Speaker 4: getting oh my goshun And I got so excited. And
- 6:04Speaker 4: then as I grew up and realized, oh no, that's
- 6:06Speaker 4: really grim. But I actually have never really grasped the
- 6:09Speaker 4: idea of a recession, like I know the Great Depression
- 6:11Speaker 4: you studied in high school, but I don't really know.
- 6:13Speaker 4: Is there a technical term?
- 6:14Speaker 3: Be definitely a technical term, and it's essentially just a
- 6:17Speaker 3: business cycle where there is a very general decline in
- 6:20Speaker 3: economic activity. I was talking on my podcast a couple
- 6:23Speaker 3: of months ago about a bear and a ballmarket, and
- 6:25Speaker 3: people like, what the hell we've been throwing this term
- 6:27Speaker 3: of what a bear market is around recently. But essentially
- 6:30Speaker 3: a bear market is where our economy declines by twenty
- 6:33Speaker 3: percent from a twelve month high. So when I say that,
- 6:37Speaker 3: you go, oh, that makes sense. It just means it's dropping,
- 6:39Speaker 3: and a bull market means the exact opposite. It's an
- 6:42Speaker 3: incline of twenty percent in the economic activity. So when
- 6:45Speaker 3: we're talking about a recession, it kind of makes sense.
- 6:47Speaker 3: What we've been through here in Australia. We went through
- 6:50Speaker 3: some bushfires, then we went through COVID and everything went
- 6:53Speaker 3: absolutely south. Literally we have been through the wars here
- 6:57Speaker 3: in Australia, but the same thing has happened into nationally
- 7:01Speaker 3: and we are all under a lot of pressure. So
- 7:03Speaker 3: it makes sense that there is going to be a
- 7:06Speaker 3: pullback in business activity across the board. And that's basically
- 7:09Speaker 3: what a recession is. And the important thing to take
- 7:11Speaker 3: into consideration here is not that you guys all have
- 7:14Speaker 3: businesses and need to be worried about all of that,
- 7:17Speaker 3: but across the board, unemployment often rises during recessions, and
- 7:21Speaker 3: total employment levels can flatline or completely turn negative. So
- 7:25Speaker 3: that is where it begins to impact us and our
- 7:27Speaker 3: families and our friends and become something that is a
- 7:30Speaker 3: lot harder.
- 7:31Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, but hard on.
- 7:32Speaker 4: What can we do on like a micro level to
- 7:34Speaker 4: prepare for a potential recession.
- 7:36Speaker 3: So the first thing I would do is make sure
- 7:38Speaker 3: you have an emergency fund set up that is going
- 7:40Speaker 3: to make sure that if something goes south for you,
- 7:42Speaker 3: you're able to afford it. The last thing we want
- 7:45Speaker 3: to be doing is getting into debt. I would be
- 7:47Speaker 3: considering job financial security. So are you in a role
- 7:50Speaker 3: that is going to be financially secure? I feel like
- 7:53Speaker 3: it's one of those things where we need to budget,
- 7:55Speaker 3: we need to cash flow, make sure that we're on
- 7:57Speaker 3: a stable financial platform. And if you are in debt,
- 8:01Speaker 3: have a chat to our friends at the National Debt Helpline.
- 8:03Speaker 3: If this is sending you into a bit of a spin.
- 8:05Speaker 3: They are absolutely fantastic, have some really beautiful resources. You
- 8:09Speaker 3: can just give them a buzz meach. They are actual
- 8:11Speaker 3: legends doing really cool things. They have access to every
- 8:14Speaker 3: single connection under the sun that can help you. But
- 8:17Speaker 3: then they also have free financial counseling which can help
- 8:20Speaker 3: you feel a little bit more secure and a time
- 8:22Speaker 3: that is a little bit more tumultuous.
- 8:24Speaker 1: So we've got a couple of special guests on the
- 8:26Speaker 1: line right now.
- 8:26Speaker 4: Guys.
- 8:27Speaker 3: I'm very excited to talk to these guys actually, because
- 8:29Speaker 3: I think a lot of people were really disappointed with
- 8:31Speaker 3: the outcome for them, which I totally get, but it's
- 8:34Speaker 3: not often the reason they go on the show. So
- 8:36Speaker 3: I want to dig deep into why they went on
- 8:38Speaker 3: the show in the first place and where they want
- 8:40Speaker 3: to go next.
- 8:41Speaker 4: Yeah, I cry because Tom and Sarah Jane were incredible.
- 8:44Speaker 4: They're joining us now. Hello, guys, Commiserations and welcome to
- 8:47Speaker 4: she's on the money. Thank you.
- 8:49Speaker 3: I want to know. Let's take us back all the
- 8:51Speaker 3: way to the start. Why did you apply for the show?
- 8:53Speaker 3: What were you wanting to get out of this?
- 8:55Speaker 6: Honestly, like we were looking to get a financial game
- 9:00Speaker 6: like that was truly our sole.
- 9:01Speaker 5: Purpose honestly for us. I had the best twelve week
- 9:04Speaker 5: experience in my life, and I did it with no
- 9:06Speaker 5: regrets and I wouldn't change anything to do it again.
- 9:09Speaker 5: But we actually did go on the show to try
- 9:11Speaker 5: to get ahead on our mortgage a little bit. Yeah,
- 9:14Speaker 5: just didn't work out how we thought it did. But
- 9:16Speaker 5: we're just glad we had a great time. And if we.
- 9:19Speaker 6: Hadn't had a miserable time and actually not enjoyed the
- 9:21Speaker 6: build and the designing and dinners like it would have
- 9:25Speaker 6: felt like a lost because we had an amazing time.
- 9:28Speaker 6: Like that's been a really, really kind of big thing
- 9:30Speaker 6: that we've been focusing on. It's made us bounce back
- 9:33Speaker 6: so quickly.
- 9:34Speaker 3: Oh I love this, And do you know what I
- 9:35Speaker 3: love more? I feel like you guys just have your
- 9:38Speaker 3: head screwed on because the amount of times I talk
- 9:41Speaker 3: to people that have been on the show before they
- 9:43Speaker 3: say things like Oh, I just really wanted a good experience.
- 9:45Speaker 3: I'm like, bro, we need a really clear goal.
- 9:47Speaker 5: Out of this.
- 9:48Speaker 4: All true reality though I love that and people only
- 9:51Speaker 4: go on reality shows for one of two reasons. A
- 9:53Speaker 4: to start an only fans or B for the money.
- 9:55Speaker 4: And let's be really, you guys have the money, Well
- 9:58Speaker 4: I don't really fe.
- 10:02Speaker 3: That's where the money is going to be. Have you
- 10:03Speaker 3: seen every other reality TV stuff? I feel like you're
- 10:06Speaker 3: missing your chance.
- 10:07Speaker 1: Do we have an exclusive here? Tom?
- 10:09Speaker 6: I've always had a really good feat and I feel
- 10:11Speaker 6: like this is my moment.
- 10:12Speaker 3: Why do you know what? Let me know how that goes,
- 10:15Speaker 3: because you could be a money diary on my podcast
- 10:18Speaker 3: in the next few months. But I want to know
- 10:20Speaker 3: a bit more about what the plan is now. Obviously
- 10:23Speaker 3: the results are a bit disappointing. Your home was absolutely stunning, though,
- 10:28Speaker 3: so I feel like there's a lot of opportunity coming up.
- 10:30Speaker 3: What is next.
- 10:31Speaker 6: We'll still continue to obviously work, because we still need
- 10:34Speaker 6: to pay all at our bills, but hopefully things do
- 10:36Speaker 6: come from it, and if it's something that we actually
- 10:40Speaker 6: believe in and something of interest to us, then hopefully,
- 10:43Speaker 6: you know, maybe we can make money that way. If
- 10:45Speaker 6: people want, you know, to hire Thomas as their plumber.
- 10:49Speaker 3: I think it's a great idea. I think it's genius.
- 10:52Speaker 3: I feel like you really should be making Hey while
- 10:53Speaker 3: the sun is shining.
- 10:55Speaker 4: After Victoria's two morning coffees here at the radio show.
- 10:57Speaker 4: These toilet plums that kiss FM Tom, we can really
- 11:02Speaker 4: get you in here. And I mean, let me tell
- 11:04Speaker 4: you those stress poos.
- 11:05Speaker 6: I totally get it. I'm a nervous pillar.
- 11:09Speaker 4: Did you do a nervous pooh after the auction?
- 11:11Speaker 3: I would have done it before, you know, I.
- 11:13Speaker 6: Did it before I did a drunk poop afterwards?
- 11:15Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah. So Sarah Jane, what are you thinking?
- 11:19Speaker 3: Are you thinking of changing your career direction after the
- 11:21Speaker 3: experience that you've had over the last twelve weeks.
- 11:23Speaker 6: I really do not know, because like design sounds really
- 11:27Speaker 6: intriguing to me, but I honestly, like know nothing about
- 11:31Speaker 6: the legit rules of it or how it works. Like na,
- 11:34Speaker 6: I just gave me a credit card and I was like, yeah,
- 11:36Speaker 6: well I want this. I want some of this, and
- 11:37Speaker 6: I'm going to put it all together.
- 11:38Speaker 3: I just got a proper water when I went into
- 11:40Speaker 3: Eternal nine the other day. Is that what you got
- 11:42Speaker 3: a credit card loser.
- 11:44Speaker 6: Spending other people's money was like my favorite aspect of
- 11:46Speaker 6: the whole show.
- 11:47Speaker 3: I hope you find something that really sparks joy, because honestly,
- 11:50Speaker 3: I feel like so many people in our community really
- 11:52Speaker 3: resonated with you guys, and feel like they want to
- 11:55Speaker 3: see more of you. So we can't wait to see
- 11:57Speaker 3: what is next, whether it is and only fans for
- 11:59Speaker 3: feet or a plumbing business for people who have had
- 12:03Speaker 3: a bit too many drinks after the block. We are
- 12:06Speaker 3: genuinely so excited to see where you go and know
- 12:09Speaker 3: that this is not the last stop on the way.
- 12:14Speaker 2: All right, If you are struggling with your cash flow,
- 12:16Speaker 2: you got yourself in a bit of a situation and
- 12:18Speaker 2: need some advice, you can hit us up at She's
- 12:20Speaker 2: on the Money on socials, Holly. She wrote in she
- 12:23Speaker 2: wants some advice on investment properties fee and we're going
- 12:25Speaker 2: to get to that next.
- 12:27Speaker 1: This is She's on the Money radio show.
- 12:30Speaker 2: We're about to solve somebody's money to Lemma Victoria, divine
- 12:34Speaker 2: we are.
- 12:35Speaker 3: It is my favorite time of the week where someone
- 12:37Speaker 3: from our community has a juicy money question and we
- 12:40Speaker 3: get to dish all the goths and give unsolicited advice.
- 12:44Speaker 4: Can I just say, Travin, you can probably attest to this.
- 12:46Speaker 1: Sorry, this sounds awful.
- 12:48Speaker 4: Not the one, but one of the best benefits of
- 12:50Speaker 4: being friends with Victoria Divine, there's many, is free financial
- 12:54Speaker 4: advice whenever you want. I text her all the time
- 12:56Speaker 4: and she gives it.
- 12:58Speaker 3: Sometimes it's elicited.
- 13:00Speaker 2: But why wouldn't you want the advice of Australia's number
- 13:04Speaker 2: one finance podcast.
- 13:05Speaker 4: That's right, Well Holly wants it right. She sent us
- 13:08Speaker 4: a voice note. She's part of the she's on the
- 13:10Speaker 4: main community, she's a sugar baby, and she asks this.
- 13:13Speaker 2: I have a small deposit using the government five percent
- 13:17Speaker 2: scheme for a chance of buying a small two bedroom
- 13:20Speaker 2: property with not much savings to back me up. Do
- 13:23Speaker 2: I do that or do I save?
- 13:25Speaker 3: At the end of next year, I would have sixty
- 13:27Speaker 3: thousand dollars in savings and do I invest that money
- 13:30Speaker 3: instead in something else? Look, I feel like this is
- 13:33Speaker 3: a really interesting one because when it comes to property,
- 13:35Speaker 3: if that's what you've set your heart on, the second
- 13:37Speaker 3: you have a deposit amount, you're ready to buy. But
- 13:40Speaker 3: that doesn't mean you should do it. Because I think
- 13:43Speaker 3: it's one thing to have the cash there, but it's
- 13:45Speaker 3: another thing to completely separate from it. And I am
- 13:48Speaker 3: a really big believer in making sure that you have
- 13:50Speaker 3: an emergency fund in addition above and beyond your deposit,
- 13:54Speaker 3: so that once you move into the house, if any
- 13:56Speaker 3: unexpected costs come up, you're able to cover them. But
- 13:59Speaker 3: then again, what if something happens and when the cash
- 14:02Speaker 3: rate increasing. I just feel like being a little bit
- 14:04Speaker 3: more conservative and giving yourself a little bit more breathing
- 14:07Speaker 3: room is a really good idea at the same time
- 14:10Speaker 3: as completely understanding that the second you get to that amount,
- 14:13Speaker 3: you're really stressed because property is going up in price
- 14:16Speaker 3: and interest rates are going up and you want to
- 14:17Speaker 3: get in sooner, right, But that does not mean it
- 14:20Speaker 3: is the best idea for you. And my advice here
- 14:23Speaker 3: would genuinely be go and talk to one of our
- 14:24Speaker 3: Zella mortgage brokers and say, hey, guys, I'm really excited
- 14:28Speaker 3: to get into my first property or my next property.
- 14:31Speaker 3: Is this actually viable for me? What would this purchase
- 14:34Speaker 3: look like? Because the girls and do you know what,
- 14:36Speaker 3: your mortgage broker will do this too. They'll run the
- 14:39Speaker 3: numbers for you and go all right, sit down, Mitch,
- 14:41Speaker 3: if you're going to buy, this is your deposit. This
- 14:43Speaker 3: is how much a solicitor is going to cost. This
- 14:45Speaker 3: is how much you're building a pest inspectra will cost.
- 14:48Speaker 3: His land tax is his stamp duty. Here's how much
- 14:51Speaker 3: will be left over. But also they might be able
- 14:53Speaker 3: to pivot it and go all right, well, if you
- 14:55Speaker 3: had an additional this that might help, or you might
- 14:58Speaker 3: rock up like a few of our clients have recent
- 15:00Speaker 3: and they're like, they, I've saved up my twenty percent,
- 15:02Speaker 3: I want to get into my first home, and we go, yeah,
- 15:04Speaker 3: let's do it. Do you know you only need a
- 15:06Speaker 3: five percent deposit because we can get you into this scheme,
- 15:09Speaker 3: or you know, a ten percent deposit because you know
- 15:11Speaker 3: this bank is offering this particular scheme and you're going
- 15:13Speaker 3: to have more in your emergency fund. And everybody needs
- 15:16Speaker 3: to be financially secure in making that decision. I just
- 15:19Speaker 3: don't think anyone should go into it with ou oh
- 15:22Speaker 3: I now have absolutely no money and can't afford to
- 15:24Speaker 3: pay bills. I'd probably be a little bit more conservative
- 15:26Speaker 3: at this point in time, just because I'm a little
- 15:28Speaker 3: bit more conservative as a finance.
- 15:30Speaker 4: Gal, you know, Oh yeah, but when it comes to clothing,
- 15:32Speaker 4: my god ankles out conservative when it comes to money,
- 15:35Speaker 4: but when it comes to the outfits, oh.
- 15:37Speaker 2: Boy, priorities mate, that's what it is. But you know what,
- 15:40Speaker 2: let's save some people some money, Victoria Devine.
- 15:42Speaker 3: Because we super save Saturday.
- 15:44Speaker 1: That's she took my job, mate, exactly.
- 15:46Speaker 3: And this week I've got some click baity styles savings
- 15:49Speaker 3: hacks that you know what, if I pitched them well
- 15:51Speaker 3: enough on the radio show, I think BuzzFeed it even
- 15:53Speaker 3: want to pick them up.
- 15:54Speaker 1: Amazing.
- 15:54Speaker 2: All right, that is coming up next on She's on
- 15:57Speaker 2: the Money radio show.
- 15:58Speaker 1: What a reference, trav I love that little barb as well. Guys.
- 16:02Speaker 1: Let's save some people some money sim Saturday.
- 16:05Speaker 3: Guys. I am so excited for these tips because when
- 16:08Speaker 3: I sat down to pull them together, I was like,
- 16:10Speaker 3: all right, well, the silly season is coming up. Everyone
- 16:12Speaker 3: needs tips before Christmas comes. I'm going to start off
- 16:16Speaker 3: with flights. Make sure you book your flights either on
- 16:19Speaker 3: or before the first week of November or December four
- 16:23Speaker 3: to ten, because it turns out, according to Travelocity, these
- 16:27Speaker 3: are when prices are going to be the lowest, and
- 16:29Speaker 3: of course waiting till later in December is going to
- 16:32Speaker 3: be super risky because one flights could be full, but
- 16:35Speaker 3: when they start to get less and less capacity available,
- 16:37Speaker 3: they're going to get more expensive.
- 16:39Speaker 4: Is that what bumps up the flights Viba?
- 16:41Speaker 3: Yes, So it's either capacity or it's them knowing that
- 16:44Speaker 3: that timing is going to be really expensive. So for example,
- 16:47Speaker 3: if you wanted to fly tomorrow, you're probably desperate for something.
- 16:51Speaker 1: All right, what's tip number two?
- 16:52Speaker 5: All right?
- 16:52Speaker 3: Tip number two is ask for the manager. Karen do I'm.
- 16:56Speaker 4: Sorry, no, no, no.
- 16:59Speaker 1: She gets married and all of a sudden she.
- 17:01Speaker 4: Wants to talk to the manager.
- 17:03Speaker 3: Age twenty years So I was in JB high fiving
- 17:06Speaker 3: the other day, very elite establishment because they price match.
- 17:11Speaker 3: So if you are Christmas shopping, my best tip I
- 17:15Speaker 3: have is, if you found the perfect gift item you
- 17:18Speaker 3: might be buying some speakers, google the product and if
- 17:21Speaker 3: the price is cheaper online, ask for the manager and
- 17:24Speaker 3: see if they can price match, because sometimes even if
- 17:27Speaker 3: it's not displayed, they are very likely to not want
- 17:30Speaker 3: to lose the sale. Like, just be kind, be nice
- 17:33Speaker 3: and try and price match.
- 17:34Speaker 4: There's websites that also compare them and show you what
- 17:37Speaker 4: is you whip it out, you show them the screenshot.
- 17:40Speaker 4: I've done it before, and they will price match on
- 17:41Speaker 4: a screenshot.
- 17:42Speaker 3: I know definitely that they do it at JB High
- 17:44Speaker 3: five because they've done it for me a number of
- 17:45Speaker 3: times and they're actually really good in there, and I
- 17:47Speaker 3: always know that I'm going to get the breast price
- 17:49Speaker 3: and really good service. I'm obviously not sponsored by them
- 17:52Speaker 3: in any way, shape or form, but I would welcome
- 17:53Speaker 3: it to the show in twenty twenty three if people
- 17:55Speaker 3: are interesting. Yeah, but it's just one thing that we
- 17:57Speaker 3: always forget to do. Would you like Tip three?
- 18:00Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 18:00Speaker 4: Hit me So.
- 18:01Speaker 3: Tip three is for the people who don't want to
- 18:03Speaker 3: ask for a price match. You might be a little
- 18:04Speaker 3: less confident, you're not ready. You're going to go to
- 18:06Speaker 3: your app store and you're going to download an app
- 18:08Speaker 3: called shop Savvy. So what is shop Savvy? I hear
- 18:12Speaker 3: the crowd scream. Oh, well, it is an app that
- 18:16Speaker 3: you download that you scan your potential gift sparcode and
- 18:20Speaker 3: it will find it for you for less somewhere on
- 18:22Speaker 3: the internet.
- 18:23Speaker 1: Oh that is amazing.
- 18:24Speaker 5: Yep.
- 18:24Speaker 3: You just scan the barcode and away it goes, and
- 18:27Speaker 3: it says, hey, the cheapest price for this exact item,
- 18:30Speaker 3: not just googling it being like, oh, do you reckon?
- 18:32Speaker 3: These headphones are the same nut's the barcode, So it's
- 18:35Speaker 3: super easy, and I think it's another savvy tip that
- 18:37Speaker 3: is going to stay in your back pocket because sometimes
- 18:40Speaker 3: I don't know, you might be in a big department
- 18:41Speaker 3: store getting really terrible service and you can't even find
- 18:43Speaker 3: a shop sales assistant. So that will come in handy call.
- 18:46Speaker 1: We do that with a mixtury as well.
- 18:48Speaker 3: Scan the barcode on his forehead.
- 18:52Speaker 4: My barcode is in my nether regions, and I will
- 18:54Speaker 4: have you know I'm one of one.
- 18:55Speaker 1: Baby. Okay, no price matching these, But I.
- 18:57Speaker 3: Do also think it's a smart tip for right now
- 19:00Speaker 3: because hopefully you guys are as slack as I am
- 19:02Speaker 3: and haven't started Christmas shopping, and so you need these
- 19:05Speaker 3: tips in your ears right now instead of later in
- 19:07Speaker 3: December when we're like, well, mate, I don't have time
- 19:10Speaker 3: to order that on the internet.
- 19:11Speaker 2: We've got nothing but time right now, We've got nothing
- 19:13Speaker 2: to do. Victoria does, sure does Mitch Sury. You're sticking
- 19:18Speaker 2: around mate, for the Life Uncut radio show. But in
- 19:20Speaker 2: the meantime, if you do have a question for us
- 19:23Speaker 2: or you need some advice. You can hit us up anytime.
- 19:26Speaker 2: Just search Shees on the Money, on socials. We'll speak
- 19:29Speaker 2: to you next week.
