- 0:28Speaker 1: Hello and welcome back to the Imperfect Marketing podcast.
- 0:31Speaker 1: I'm your host, kendra Corman.
- 0:32Speaker 1: If you've been following along lately, you know I'm a huge proponent of planning quarterly marketing sprints to maintain motivation and focus.
- 0:41Speaker 1: So today I'm doing a deep dive into my step-by-step system for creating and crafting a powerful, productive 90-day action plan for your business.
- 0:51Speaker 1: I call it momentum mapping and it's a game changer from establishing the big picture quarterly objectives to building out your week-by-week tactical calendar.
- 1:03Speaker 1: Let's map out your next 90 days.
- 1:06Speaker 1: When I start plotting a new 90-day sprint, I like to begin really broad and then drill down.
- 1:13Speaker 1: Step one is revisiting your annual revenue goals, your core offerings, and then determining one to three big goals you want to accomplish in the next 90 days.
- 1:24Speaker 1: That quarter right.
- 1:26Speaker 1: It's a major company milestone, maybe it's a new product launch.
- 1:31Speaker 1: Maybe it's a pivotal target like doubling email subscribers.
- 1:35Speaker 1: Get focused on just the essential quarterly objectives for this upcoming quarter.
- 1:41Speaker 1: So you don't dilute your effort trying to tackle everything at once, because that is a problem that so many people have With those one quarter objectives.
- 1:52Speaker 1: Gino Wickman calls them rocks in his book Traction.
- 1:55Speaker 1: Michael Hyatt, the developer of my most favorite planner in the whole world full-focus planner, calls them your big three quarterly, weekly and daily goals, no matter what you call them, it doesn't matter.
- 2:09Speaker 1: Once you have them clarified, you're breaking things down week by week.
- 2:14Speaker 1: Map what specific marketing campaigns Legion offers for content that you're going to deploy to attract qualified prospects and nurture your leads towards a purchase.
- 2:27Speaker 1: You want to plot meticulously in your calendar to hold yourself accountable.
- 2:31Speaker 1: Every week you should be moving yourself closer to those objectives by doing again one to three different tasks or projects or initiatives that are going to move you closer.
- 2:45Speaker 1: I personally recommend designating daily time blocks for creative work or ideation so that those revenue driving activities don't slip through the cracks in lieu of busy administrative work.
- 2:59Speaker 1: You know how it happens, right, you want to protect this strategic time to work on your business, not just in it.
- 3:06Speaker 1: My Outlook calendar routinely books focus time.
- 3:10Speaker 1: For me it does two hour increments and I use that time for these types of activities.
- 3:16Speaker 1: Another trainer that I've had before called them Strategic Next Actions, snas.
- 3:22Speaker 1: So again, think about how you can block your calendar so that you can move forward with those strategic next actions to help you achieve your goals.
- 3:33Speaker 1: So once you create the blocks and do it, at times you're most creative, not tired and drained and just don't want to think anymore.
- 3:41Speaker 1: Not a morning person like me.
- 3:43Speaker 1: Don't schedule it at 7am, that's not going to help.
- 3:46Speaker 1: My ideal time is usually 11am and 3pm, right in that window.
- 3:51Speaker 1: That's when I can shine.
- 3:52Speaker 1: Otherwise, some days I'll get a second win, which is between 5 and 7pm.
- 3:58Speaker 1: Sometimes I can really rock a plan later in the day and you want to optimize your energy by theming weeks and months.
- 4:07Speaker 1: So lead gen email campaigns in April, webinar promotion in May, sale announcements in June.
- 4:15Speaker 1: Grouping similar initiatives can really help smooth out these similar initiatives for yourself.
- 4:23Speaker 1: So this is the core of what I'm calling your momentum mapping.
- 4:30Speaker 1: Obviously, real life happens.
- 4:32Speaker 1: You're going to pivot, but the 90 day plan is that North Star that guides everything that you're doing and keeping your efforts aligned.
- 4:40Speaker 1: That's a wrap for today.
