- 0:13Speaker 1: and I'm Tiana. This podcast is about female empowerment.

- 0:19Speaker 2: authentic version of yourself.
- 0:20Speaker 1: We help you shed the shame, grow to new level.
- 0:23Speaker 1: We're gonna laugh and cry and talk about the topics
- 0:25Speaker 1: everyone else is too afraid to talk about.
- 0:28Speaker 2: Get ready for your next level of self Welcome back
- 0:31Speaker 2: to another episode of She Rises.
- 0:33Speaker 1: Today we are talking about our growth journey. We are
- 0:37Speaker 1: obviously big growth seekers. We're always loving to learn and
- 0:40Speaker 1: to expand ourselves and to understand ourselves on a deeper level.
- 0:44Speaker 1: Ourselves are meaning me and you and the people around us.
- 0:48Speaker 1: So I'm going to talk about what we've done over
- 0:50Speaker 1: the last couple of years. Well, for me, it's been
- 0:51Speaker 1: the last fifteen years. You how long have you been
- 0:54Speaker 1: doing self development? About five years? Yeah, let's start from
- 0:57Speaker 1: the very beginning. What moment will you like I need
- 1:01Speaker 1: to change my life. I'm going to start working on myself.
- 1:05Speaker 1: I've had many moments of thinking about it. So the
- 1:08Speaker 1: first one would have been around the sex tape. So
- 1:10Speaker 1: when I first found that out, I remember thinking to
- 1:12Speaker 1: myself like I really need to do something, like if
- 1:15Speaker 1: I don't take care of myself in this time, I'm
- 1:18Speaker 1: going to allow this to spy crush me. Yeah, you know,
- 1:22Speaker 1: And I just I don't think I'll be able to
- 1:24Speaker 1: come back from it if I'm not willing to look
- 1:25Speaker 1: at this and work through it and have support around me.
- 1:28Speaker 1: And I didn't know what I needed to do. I
- 1:31Speaker 1: didn't know who I needed to lean on. But I
- 1:32Speaker 1: just remember thinking, like, Tiana, if you don't do this
- 1:35Speaker 1: for yourself, like your life is going to look very differently,
- 1:38Speaker 1: and it's not going to go to plan in the
- 1:39Speaker 1: way that you.
- 1:40Speaker 2: Wanted it to. Even at that time, at nineteen, I
- 1:43Speaker 2: had big goals, big aspirations for myself, and I just
- 1:45Speaker 2: remember thinking, if you don't work on this, like it
- 1:49Speaker 2: will break you.
- 1:50Speaker 1: So what did you What was the first step you
- 1:51Speaker 1: talk with a book a psychologist? Was it get a coach?
- 1:53Speaker 1: Was it read a book?
- 1:54Speaker 2: I actually read The Power of Now Oh wow, that
- 1:57Speaker 2: was my first book, and it was the first it
- 1:59Speaker 2: was my first personal development book. I've been reading books
- 2:02Speaker 2: since I was like fifteen, loved them, and yeah, it
- 2:05Speaker 2: was just something that kind of allowed me to really
- 2:08Speaker 2: get clear on how to focus on my awareness. So
- 2:11Speaker 2: instead of just living an existing day to day, I
- 2:14Speaker 2: started to reflect and started to pay attention to my
- 2:16Speaker 2: awareness and paid attention to myself and my thoughts and
- 2:21Speaker 2: you know, being really present instead of just existing in
- 2:24Speaker 2: everyday life.
- 2:25Speaker 1: Wow.
- 2:25Speaker 2: And that was really pivotal for me because I was
- 2:27Speaker 2: quite young at the time, but I remember thinking, oh, shit.
- 2:31Speaker 1: Like this is something that's cool.
- 2:33Speaker 2: And then it wasn't until a couple of years later,
- 2:35Speaker 2: I think two years later, where I was going through
- 2:38Speaker 2: a really really intense party phase and I just was
- 2:42Speaker 2: ruining my life. I was partying all weekend and then
- 2:44Speaker 2: coming down on a Sunday and I was heartbroken from
- 2:47Speaker 2: like how my partner had released the sex tape and
- 2:49Speaker 2: I just was trying to drown it out. And I
- 2:51Speaker 2: just remember making decisions where I hurt people that I love.
- 2:55Speaker 2: I was just a menace and I just decided one
- 2:58Speaker 2: day I was like, Tiana, enough enough, Yeah you've got
- 3:01Speaker 2: to do this. And then I got on a discovery
- 3:03Speaker 2: call with a life coach and it changed my life.
- 3:06Speaker 1: Oh that's awesome. Stayed with her for like four years, babe, Yeah,
- 3:09Speaker 1: so good. That first one's so impactful. Isn't it. That's awesome?
- 3:14Speaker 1: Howbout you? When was your first one? I think the
- 3:17Speaker 1: first person I went to my girlfriend Jess her mum.
- 3:21Speaker 1: She's a spiritual healer. She's a holistic counselor. She's a
- 3:24Speaker 1: reiki healer, a meditation teacher, and her sessions like three
- 3:29Speaker 1: hours long, so you wow, feeling very tired. Three hours,
- 3:33Speaker 1: but you talk about things you meditate. I just remember
- 3:36Speaker 1: crying lots, releasing lots. She'd ask lots of questions and
- 3:40Speaker 1: I just got a lot out of her. And from
- 3:42Speaker 1: then I booked and paid for so many of my friends,
- 3:44Speaker 1: my family. I sent my mom, I've sent Stee's mom,
- 3:46Speaker 1: I've sent all of my friends when they felt stuck
- 3:48Speaker 1: or lost or going through something big in their life.
- 3:51Speaker 1: And everyone has loved her and got something out of her.
- 3:53Speaker 1: So I saw her for quite a long time. She's
- 3:56Speaker 1: also a public speaker teacher. Yeah, she did toast Masters
- 3:59Speaker 1: for ages. Oh wow. Yeah, so she taught me about
- 4:01Speaker 1: a few things about public speaking. So she was really pivot.
- 4:05Speaker 1: And then I remember just when Steve told me that
- 4:08Speaker 1: he had put me for a Tony Robins course. I
- 4:10Speaker 1: was so close minded. I thought anyone that did that work,
- 4:12Speaker 1: was just like in a cult and nothing's wrong with me,
- 4:16Speaker 1: Like as if doing mindset work's going to change my life.
- 4:18Speaker 1: I was such a victim to thinking these the cars
- 4:20Speaker 1: have been dealt, Yeah, nothing can change it. I can't
- 4:23Speaker 1: go and do some work and it changes my situation.
- 4:26Speaker 1: I'm just unlucky, you know. And I had that attitude
- 4:29Speaker 1: and I walked into the first one. It was a
- 4:30Speaker 1: seven day course, so really sign us up for a
- 4:33Speaker 1: big one, and I remember just thinking, what the fuck
- 4:36Speaker 1: am I doing here? I was so closed minded. My
- 4:39Speaker 1: attitude and energy would have been so not nice to
- 4:42Speaker 1: be around, poor Steve. And then within the first day
- 4:45Speaker 1: I was like dancing, like, well, this is so good.
- 4:47Speaker 1: And from that course I felt I got addicted to
- 4:50Speaker 1: self growth. I got addicted to learning. I got addicted
- 4:53Speaker 1: to understanding myself better. I got addicted to wanting to
- 4:55Speaker 1: just improve myself, understand myself on a deeper level so
- 4:59Speaker 1: that I could be more proud of who I was
- 5:01Speaker 1: and how I was showing up. And it's never really
- 5:03Speaker 1: stopped since there. I did all of the courses. I
- 5:05Speaker 1: did the Platinum membership, which is where you sign up
- 5:08Speaker 1: for a year and it's a group of people. It's
- 5:09Speaker 1: really expensive and you travel around the world with him.
- 5:12Speaker 1: So there was Canada, Whistler, Fiji, Hawaii, and India and
- 5:17Speaker 1: obviously Australia Circle, and each destination had a different meeting
- 5:21Speaker 1: behind it, a purpose like Fiji was health, Hawaii's relationship,
- 5:25Speaker 1: India was gratitude meditation. Yeah. It was really really cool
- 5:30Speaker 1: and we went with a group of people that were
- 5:31Speaker 1: all in the same wavelength. But upon reflection, I definitely
- 5:35Speaker 1: was still immature and don't think I absorbed it as
- 5:38Speaker 1: well as what I would have now, but had amazing
- 5:41Speaker 1: memories and definitely learned a lot. And then from there
- 5:46Speaker 1: I went on to working with a relationship coach with
- 5:49Speaker 1: Steve called Brian Reeves. We did that together, Yeah, and
- 5:52Speaker 1: he was incredible. He was so gooey with him for
- 5:54Speaker 1: like three years. Wow, nothing was quote unquote wrong. We
- 5:57Speaker 1: just had maintenance calls and it's cool. We'll just always
- 6:00Speaker 1: be growing and learning about each other and having that
- 6:02Speaker 1: middle person to help us see things from a different
- 6:05Speaker 1: which was really cool.
- 6:06Speaker 2: The maintenance thing is so underrated, isn't it. Not going
- 6:09Speaker 2: when you have a problem, but consistently growing and what's
- 6:12Speaker 2: so pretty cool?
- 6:13Speaker 1: Yeah, it's always like checking in. Then I worked with
- 6:16Speaker 1: a lady called Katie Ford. She was Katie Dean. She
- 6:19Speaker 1: worked for me actually as a pet for seven years
- 6:22Speaker 1: and the Ashbinds Bick Anybody Challenge. Oh wow.
- 6:24Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 6:25Speaker 1: He remained friends and she was just always there for
- 6:27Speaker 1: me when she was going down or struggling with anything.
- 6:30Speaker 1: She was just a really good friend. And then she
- 6:31Speaker 1: became a life coach. When she left the Challenges, I
- 6:34Speaker 1: bought a pack from her and I still have a
- 6:35Speaker 1: couple that I can work with her. It's just the
- 6:38Speaker 1: ultimate pick me up. Yeah. If I'm not feeling confident
- 6:40Speaker 1: or something, or I'm not sure how to word something,
- 6:43Speaker 1: or I'm doubting something, she just picks me right back up,
- 6:46Speaker 1: reminds me who I am, what I'm capable of, gives
- 6:49Speaker 1: me that confidence booth, reminds me of my self worth,
- 6:51Speaker 1: similar work to what you do maybe, And I just
- 6:54Speaker 1: always feel so empowered getting off the call with her
- 6:57Speaker 1: and Taylor Cecil. He's probably been the one that's had
- 7:00Speaker 1: the most impact on my life and I still work
- 7:02Speaker 1: with him today. But I worked with him intensely three
- 7:05Speaker 1: times a week for I think nearly three years. Wow,
- 7:08Speaker 1: three times a week. Yes, it was very expensive, but
- 7:12Speaker 1: I actually went to him because I had a bad back. Yeah,
- 7:14Speaker 1: Like I literally could not bend over time my shoelaces.
- 7:17Speaker 1: It got so bad. Oh wow, I was in chronic
- 7:19Speaker 1: pain all the time. So I went to him for
- 7:22Speaker 1: that and did intense rehab on my back. But he
- 7:25Speaker 1: also believed that a lot of emotions are stored, like
- 7:27Speaker 1: in your back and your hips and everything, so he
- 7:29Speaker 1: does a physical emotion on the mental. It's all intertwined.
- 7:32Speaker 1: It's all interconnected. So every session was a bit physical,
- 7:36Speaker 1: but then we talk about things and then we'd do
- 7:37Speaker 1: breath work and it just everything. He's also a qualified
- 7:41Speaker 1: ostia as well. Yep, so he's incredible and I still
- 7:44Speaker 1: work with him now. Even the other day, I did
- 7:46Speaker 1: a tennis lesson and I got really tight in my
- 7:48Speaker 1: upper back, and the whole session was releasing my upper back,
- 7:51Speaker 1: and then there was drills that were based around tennis.
- 7:54Speaker 1: So the movements I was doing that was like this
- 7:56Speaker 1: body twist to help me hit better. And then he
- 7:58Speaker 1: was just throwing the ball to me and watching how
- 8:00Speaker 1: I landed and giving me tips on how to land
- 8:02Speaker 1: and how to use my care more. Wow, it was
- 8:04Speaker 1: really cool. It really he works with a lot of
- 8:06Speaker 1: athletes that are specific in their sport. Yeah, it's like
- 8:09Speaker 1: the one stop shop coach.
- 8:10Speaker 2: Yeah, that's what I was thinking, where there's a lot
- 8:12Speaker 2: of hats like has different he's not tortalities.
- 8:14Speaker 1: Yeah, when we ask what he does exactly what he's qualified,
- 8:18Speaker 1: and I'm like everything everything. I go to him for everything,
- 8:21Speaker 1: literally whatever you're going through, even like parenting stuff, relationship stuff,
- 8:25Speaker 1: health stuff, body stuff, mindset work, anything, He's it. Yeah.
- 8:29Speaker 2: I really put him on a pedestal every time you
- 8:31Speaker 2: have a session with him, Like, oh my god, yes,
- 8:33Speaker 2: so we did this and really put him on a pedestal.
- 8:36Speaker 1: Is one of the most incredible humans I've ever met,
- 8:38Speaker 1: ever worked with, and his wisdom, his energy. So yeah,
- 8:42Speaker 1: he's been really pivotal in my life. I've also done
- 8:44Speaker 1: some work with Megsie, only a couple of sessions. Obviously,
- 8:48Speaker 1: it's very handy having friends as life coaches. I've got
- 8:51Speaker 1: you Megsi and Levi and Taylor. But I did two
- 8:55Speaker 1: sessions with Megsie on in a child healings and they
- 8:57Speaker 1: were so powerful and it's the first time I felt
- 9:00Speaker 1: like I really actually connected with my little girl I'd
- 9:03Speaker 1: heard about that work and I do it before, but
- 9:06Speaker 1: never quite could connect with it. And if you understand
- 9:08Speaker 1: it really and the first time she did it with me,
- 9:10Speaker 1: I was just bawling my eyes. You just feel so
- 9:14Speaker 1: safe with her.
- 9:15Speaker 2: She has a very grounding energy, doesn't She really does.
- 9:18Speaker 1: And I've done a session of ayahuasca, which is pretty cool. Yeah,
- 9:21Speaker 1: play a based medicine, which I know is a bit controversial,
- 9:23Speaker 1: but I'm ready to do another one and was going
- 9:26Speaker 1: to come along for the next one.
- 9:28Speaker 2: You know, it'd be so cool. I'd love to hear
- 9:29Speaker 2: you talk about your first experience.
- 9:30Speaker 1: Yeah, it was wild doing an episode on that. Yeah,
- 9:34Speaker 1: I think I have a long time ago. Guys, you're
- 9:36Speaker 1: a refresh and we'll do an episode when we do
- 9:38Speaker 1: one together. But it was really really wild and helped
- 9:41Speaker 1: me see things I hadn't seen before. It's so hard
- 9:44Speaker 1: to explain in a whole new world, really, and just
- 9:48Speaker 1: so much comes up. You can go and have a
- 9:50Speaker 1: really beautiful time, or you'd have a really traumatic time,
- 9:53Speaker 1: but it's good to go on with an intention of
- 9:54Speaker 1: what you'd like to connect with. You're struggling with something,
- 9:57Speaker 1: or you're wanting to heal, whether it's sexual or trauma,
- 10:00Speaker 1: or your relationship with your parents, or a traumatic event
- 10:03Speaker 1: in your life, or your feelings stuck or loss. Like
- 10:05Speaker 1: going with an intention and that will they say that
- 10:08Speaker 1: mother Aya will connect with you and help you with
- 10:10Speaker 1: that thing. So I kind of didn't really go on
- 10:12Speaker 1: with a strong intention, but had a lot come up
- 10:14Speaker 1: around just my work and whether I was happy, and
- 10:17Speaker 1: things with my stepdads, things with my kids. And it's
- 10:21Speaker 1: really cool. So that's been my journey of self discovery
- 10:25Speaker 1: and self development. And obviously there's lots of podcast books,
- 10:28Speaker 1: YouTube master classes, all the day horses. Yeah, like it
- 10:32Speaker 1: did call to me conscious. There's been lots of little
- 10:34Speaker 1: things in between, but they're like the big, the big,
- 10:37Speaker 1: big things. Yeah, that's beautiful. She's a growth seeker. I
- 10:40Speaker 1: am a growth seeker. And tell me about your journeys.
- 10:42Speaker 2: I mentioned before that I've been doing this like five years.
- 10:44Speaker 2: But then I was thinking as you were talking, I
- 10:46Speaker 2: was like, oh my god, that doesn't seem right, Like
- 10:48Speaker 2: the timeline on that doesn't seem right. And I remember
- 10:50Speaker 2: actually after first initially reading the Power of Now, I
- 10:54Speaker 2: worked with a healer. So this would have been when
- 10:56Speaker 2: I was eighteen, so give it like nine years or something.
- 10:59Speaker 1: Energy.
- 11:00Speaker 2: Yeah, she was like an energy healer, cross, psychic cross,
- 11:05Speaker 2: I don't know. It was the first one that I
- 11:06Speaker 2: had experienced breath work. She made me breathe to the
- 11:10Speaker 2: beat of drums. Oh cool, and I just bawled my
- 11:13Speaker 2: eyes out after. So I did a lot of talk
- 11:14Speaker 2: therapy with her. She was quite spiritual though. I remember
- 11:18Speaker 2: doing a couple of sessions with her and kind of
- 11:19Speaker 2: dabbling my toe in it and that sort of thing.
- 11:22Speaker 2: And then when I first really got serious about it,
- 11:25Speaker 2: I worked with this one life coach and it was
- 11:27Speaker 2: when I really was just not in a good place
- 11:29Speaker 2: in my life. I was like, if I continue to
- 11:32Speaker 2: go down this route, I'm going to fuck up my life,
- 11:34Speaker 2: Like I'm going to lose everyone I love, because I'd
- 11:36Speaker 2: already had evidence of pushing people away that I had
- 11:39Speaker 2: loved so deeply, and so I just was like, Okay,
- 11:43Speaker 2: let's do something about this. Let's you know, take control.
- 11:46Speaker 2: And yeah, I worked with this woman who was initially
- 11:49Speaker 2: a life coach when I worked with her, turned business coach.
- 11:52Speaker 1: So worked with.
- 11:53Speaker 2: Her for a year straight. That first year was so
- 11:57Speaker 2: pivotal changed my life, like completely turned my life around
- 12:01Speaker 2: in the best way. And then after that I had
- 12:05Speaker 2: bit of a break. I worked with a guy named
- 12:06Speaker 2: Rick Williams.
- 12:07Speaker 1: He's really really good.
- 12:09Speaker 2: He's a men's purpose coach actually, and I remember reaching
- 12:12Speaker 2: out to him and asking him, like do you take
- 12:14Speaker 2: on women? It was just his energy is so safe,
- 12:17Speaker 2: so beautiful, so grounded, and he was like the first
- 12:21Speaker 2: depiction of like a healthy masculine for me at that age,
- 12:25Speaker 2: you know, So I just really really valued that anyway,
- 12:27Speaker 2: So I worked with him for six months. That was
- 12:30Speaker 2: a lot of in a child healing, revisiting old wounds,
- 12:34Speaker 2: going back to the you know, honestly, I think I
- 12:36Speaker 2: cried every single session off for six months, Like it
- 12:40Speaker 2: was intense, but it was exactly what I needed. And
- 12:42Speaker 2: it was through that experience I started to really find
- 12:45Speaker 2: my voice again and like heal my wounds around not
- 12:49Speaker 2: speaking up and people pleasing and all that sort of stuff.
- 12:52Speaker 2: So that helped me I kind of discover my fire
- 12:54Speaker 2: a little bit. I did a lot of business personal
- 12:58Speaker 2: development as well, So I've been in what I called
- 13:01Speaker 2: like masterminds. Yeah, like spending in time in masterminds for
- 13:05Speaker 2: business as well as personal development for like three months
- 13:07Speaker 2: at a time. I did like two or three of those.
- 13:11Speaker 2: I did something called Uruka Healing as well. It's like
- 13:13Speaker 2: a certification for life coaching and basically it's like a
- 13:17Speaker 2: huge course.
- 13:18Speaker 1: That you go through. So I did that.
- 13:20Speaker 2: That was really cool. And then I had a huge
- 13:22Speaker 2: friendship breakdown like a couple of years ago and worked
- 13:24Speaker 2: with a trauma coach. So she's a life coach, trauma coach,
- 13:28Speaker 2: and a business coach, so she's trauma informed. She was
- 13:31Speaker 2: epic to work with. Her name is Taylor, and she
- 13:34Speaker 2: really helped me for like a whole year. We did
- 13:36Speaker 2: like a Yeah, we just did like a whole like
- 13:38Speaker 2: intensive working together and her helping me work through just
- 13:41Speaker 2: a lot of pain and a lot of grief and
- 13:43Speaker 2: that sort of thing. Flora Sivos, I think that's how
- 13:46Speaker 2: you say name.
- 13:46Speaker 1: I really like me. She's a manifestation coach.
- 13:49Speaker 2: Love her stuff for self concept, self image, like really
- 13:53Speaker 2: getting out of your victim mentality. Really appreciate her work
- 13:56Speaker 2: for that. And then yeah, books, master classes, courses like
- 14:00Speaker 2: us come invested so much in like courses and things
- 14:03Speaker 2: like that.
- 14:04Speaker 1: So yeah, that's kind of jour. I just remember one
- 14:07Speaker 1: of the coach that I've worked with. I didn't mention
- 14:09Speaker 1: Brad Fennel, he's in the Gold Crossing. Yeah, that's right.
- 14:11Speaker 1: People that have never done any work with life coaches,
- 14:14Speaker 1: like who would you recommend? And it's honestly different for
- 14:15Speaker 1: different reasons. Yeah, like if it's self worth and confidence
- 14:19Speaker 1: you and in a child healing, if it's confidence boost
- 14:21Speaker 1: it's like Katie relationships. Definitely Brad Taylor if you've got
- 14:25Speaker 1: body pain as well, like physical pain as well, And
- 14:28Speaker 1: depends if you wanted to work with someone face to
- 14:30Speaker 1: face or online as well. But different coaches offer different things.
- 14:34Speaker 1: Even Levi, he's a trauma coach and I would recommend
- 14:38Speaker 1: going to him for trauma. Like everyone's just so different
- 14:40Speaker 1: and it can sometimes be like dating. You've got to
- 14:43Speaker 1: find someone that you really connect with and feel safe with.
- 14:45Speaker 1: That's why discovery calls are really cool. Get a vibe
- 14:47Speaker 1: and see if you connect with that person. All important,
- 14:50Speaker 1: but start somewhere. Having a life coach will change your life. Oh,
- 14:53Speaker 1: game changer. Honestly.
- 14:54Speaker 2: I've also done Tony Robin seminars actually and Pole, I
- 14:57Speaker 2: can't remember what it was.
- 14:58Speaker 1: Unleash the Power, Unleash the one, Yeah, the intro one.
- 15:01Speaker 1: It kind of gives you a bit of insight into
- 15:03Speaker 1: all the courses.
- 15:04Speaker 2: It's a three day one and you walk on their
- 15:06Speaker 2: call at the end of the day.
- 15:07Speaker 1: That was really cool. It is cool. And then let's
- 15:09Speaker 1: talk about like why we do this work, because some
- 15:13Speaker 1: people have the mindset that if you go to a
- 15:15Speaker 1: counselor if you go to a life coach, or you
- 15:16Speaker 1: do this work, that's something's wrong when you're broken. It's
- 15:18Speaker 1: such a closed minded way to think of things. Yeah,
- 15:21Speaker 1: I just think we grow and change so much, and
- 15:25Speaker 1: there's always something new to learn, even if it's just
- 15:28Speaker 1: you love what you're doing, but there's a new perspective
- 15:30Speaker 1: on something. With food and diet too, It's like what
- 15:33Speaker 1: I knew when I was eighteen compared to what I
- 15:35Speaker 1: know now. How my body operated and what it needed
- 15:37Speaker 1: back then compared to how it needs now is totally different,
- 15:41Speaker 1: so different what you need in the different seasons of
- 15:43Speaker 1: your life, You're going to have to expand your knowledge. Yeah,
- 15:46Speaker 1: when you become a parent, you have to learn how
- 15:49Speaker 1: to become a parent, how to just how to take
- 15:51Speaker 1: care of your body again out to learn how to
- 15:53Speaker 1: support your nervous system even more, you have to learn
- 15:55Speaker 1: how to now your partner's always been your number one,
- 15:59Speaker 1: now you've got kids look after, how to still make
- 16:01Speaker 1: your relationship work. Yeah, there is always something to learn
- 16:04Speaker 1: about every aspect of your life. And if you think otherwise,
- 16:07Speaker 1: you're kidding yourself.
- 16:08Speaker 2: That's such a good point, right, because it's like every
- 16:12Speaker 2: season of your life is different. So what maybe once
- 16:15Speaker 2: worked for you won't work in this new season because
- 16:18Speaker 2: you've got a baby in the mix now, or because
- 16:20Speaker 2: you just got married and you just moved in with
- 16:22Speaker 2: your partner, or you've got a new job that requires
- 16:24Speaker 2: you to have it for thirty hours of you at
- 16:26Speaker 2: work and you're now no longer having that at home.
- 16:29Speaker 2: So you have to be able to adjust and pivot
- 16:32Speaker 2: and be adaptable in everyday life. And I think being
- 16:36Speaker 2: able to grow and like constantly be willing to learn
- 16:40Speaker 2: will make sure that you actually succeed in every area
- 16:42Speaker 2: that you have to adapt.
- 16:43Speaker 1: And just because there's one way to do something doesn't
- 16:45Speaker 1: mean there is in another three. So if you've already
- 16:47Speaker 1: done something one way and it works for you, great,
- 16:49Speaker 1: But imagine someone suggested something too that's ten times more
- 16:52Speaker 1: effective yea, or works way faster, or feels even better
- 16:55Speaker 1: for you. I just look at growth as being really
- 16:58Speaker 1: open minded. It's not one way or the highway, it's
- 17:02Speaker 1: not fit into one box. There's so many cool ways
- 17:04Speaker 1: to do and I just think when you live so openly,
- 17:06Speaker 1: it's really cool to just always be expanding that knowledge
- 17:10Speaker 1: in your tool belt.
- 17:11Speaker 2: Yeah, I think it's so important. I think as well,
- 17:13Speaker 2: when you experience growth yourself, you realize how good you
- 17:17Speaker 2: feel on the other side of it, and you're like,
- 17:19Speaker 2: you feel you've accomplished something, you feel proud of yourself,
- 17:23Speaker 2: You've overcome serious hardship and challenge, So on the other
- 17:26Speaker 2: side of it, you're like, oh my god, of course
- 17:28Speaker 2: I want to experience that again. So you're willing to
- 17:31Speaker 2: go through the challenge and the discomfort of change so
- 17:34Speaker 2: that you can go, holy shit, I want to get
- 17:36Speaker 2: to the other side and feel so proud of myself.
- 17:38Speaker 2: And I think even for me, like that's a huge
- 17:40Speaker 2: reason why I like to grow and why I forever
- 17:42Speaker 2: will be choosing to grow even if it's so uncomfortable,
- 17:45Speaker 2: because I want to push my limits of what I'm
- 17:47Speaker 2: capable of doing. Yeah.
- 17:49Speaker 1: See, how do you know what you're capable of if
- 17:50Speaker 1: you're not pushing those limits. You never know you'll stay stagnant,
- 17:53Speaker 1: you'll go dead inside. Yeah, oh thanks, No.
- 17:56Speaker 2: I would rather be a growth seekert.
- 17:57Speaker 1: And you know why as well.
- 17:58Speaker 2: I think it's important to me because I've also had
- 18:00Speaker 2: moments in my life where i haven't been committed to
- 18:03Speaker 2: growth and the discomfort of staying stuck is so much
- 18:07Speaker 2: heavy than the discomfortable growing.
- 18:09Speaker 1: Isn't it. It's so heavy? I agree, Yeah, I really agree.
- 18:13Speaker 1: I literally feel dead and cybhen I'm not growing. You
- 18:15Speaker 1: feel like I'm not making any progress? Feel dull?
- 18:18Speaker 2: Yeah, stagnance like stale energy.
- 18:21Speaker 1: It's exciting to hear of new ways to do things.
- 18:24Speaker 1: We interviewed Lewis, which you guys would have heard by now.
- 18:26Speaker 1: If you haven't listened to the episode, go back and
- 18:28Speaker 1: listen to it.
- 18:28Speaker 2: As an epic human.
- 18:30Speaker 1: He was saying he likes to put two new tools
- 18:32Speaker 1: in his toolbox each year, so two new ways to
- 18:35Speaker 1: help himself. Yeah, whether it's breath work or what else?
- 18:38Speaker 1: Did he say?
- 18:39Speaker 2: He's using different modalities and mentalities, Yeah, different healing modalities.
- 18:42Speaker 2: As a coach. He doesn't just do them on his clients.
- 18:45Speaker 2: He goes through the processes getting that therapy done himself,
- 18:48Speaker 2: and then he will implement it to his clients, but
- 18:51Speaker 2: two every single year, so he's always growing.
- 18:54Speaker 1: We were talking about how it's such a good amount
- 18:56Speaker 1: because it's enough time to learn about it, integrate at
- 18:59Speaker 1: practice it, yes, and then he can teach it and
- 19:02Speaker 1: then teach it. Whereas if you try and overwhelm yourself
- 19:04Speaker 1: with doing too much in one short amount of time,
- 19:06Speaker 1: it can feel a bit overwhelming. Oh it's not for me. Yeah,
- 19:08Speaker 1: give yourself that time and space to let it land.
- 19:10Speaker 2: And this is a beautiful example of just because you've
- 19:13Speaker 2: read it in a book doesn't mean that you've integrated it.
- 19:16Speaker 1: Right.
- 19:16Speaker 2: You can read all the mother ef and book literally,
- 19:19Speaker 2: but it doesn't mean jack Okay.
- 19:21Speaker 1: It means actually nothing.
- 19:22Speaker 2: And I'm speaking to like sixteen year old Tiana who
- 19:24Speaker 2: used to read and think that she was implementing and
- 19:26Speaker 2: she wasn't.
- 19:27Speaker 1: Like so different?
- 19:28Speaker 2: Is its so different? Because knowledge is not power applied.
- 19:31Speaker 2: Knowledge is power, right, So it's just something to note
- 19:35Speaker 2: when you are consuming so much information but you're not
- 19:38Speaker 2: actually applying what you're learning because it who go different things.
- 19:43Speaker 1: I think we can all take a look in the
- 19:45Speaker 1: mirror and there's definitely things I'm like, I know that,
- 19:47Speaker 1: but I'm choosing that to do it. Yeah, like daily
- 19:49Speaker 1: meditation practices. I fucking know the benefits. I know how
- 19:54Speaker 1: good it is for me. I know it does the brain.
- 19:56Speaker 1: I know it does my nervous system and my fully
- 19:58Speaker 1: integrated and meditation note.
- 20:00Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, I would say the sleep on you are,
- 20:02Speaker 2: sleep on, I would say, not daytime, but sleep time
- 20:04Speaker 2: you are.
- 20:05Speaker 1: Yeah, sleep when I do, but day to day I
- 20:07Speaker 1: would love to incorporate it more so there's one thing
- 20:11Speaker 1: at an example, you know, but yeah, yeah, you could
- 20:14Speaker 1: read all the books, but if you're not actually practicing it,
- 20:16Speaker 1: what's it lean? Yeah, sitting up in your brain doing
- 20:18Speaker 1: what living rent free? So you know, it's even.
- 20:21Speaker 2: You know, I find that with the Joe Dispenser information,
- 20:24Speaker 2: right because I listen to his stuff all the time.
- 20:26Speaker 2: When I'm like building Lego and I've got three hours,
- 20:28Speaker 2: or if I sit down and I'm doing a Lego session,
- 20:30Speaker 2: I'll listen to his podcast and I'll consume it. But
- 20:33Speaker 2: then do I practice it consistently every day? Well know,
- 20:35Speaker 2: because I fall unconscious, which is exactly what he teaches
- 20:39Speaker 2: is if you're not consistently doing it every day. You
- 20:42Speaker 2: aren't going to implement that habit and create a new
- 20:45Speaker 2: neural pathway in your brain.
- 20:46Speaker 1: Yes, exactly what he teaches.
- 20:47Speaker 2: And I fucking know that, but I fail do it.
- 20:50Speaker 1: You know.
- 20:50Speaker 2: I'm like, Oh, the one off chance where I get
- 20:52Speaker 2: to listen to Lego, then I'll implement it.
- 20:54Speaker 1: Yeah, it just doesn't work like that. It's just so important,
- 20:57Speaker 1: isn't it. So we just wanted to share our journeys
- 20:59Speaker 1: to inspire you. If you've been feeling like you need
- 21:01Speaker 1: some extra supporter, you want to grow and expand you're
- 21:03Speaker 1: not even sure how or where, book in with someone, Yeah,
- 21:07Speaker 1: and download the podcast and read the books and ask
- 21:10Speaker 1: for help expand yourself because you can never ever stop learning.
- 21:14Speaker 2: Never let yourself use an excuse of oh I can't
- 21:16Speaker 2: afford it or it's out of reach for me, because
- 21:18Speaker 2: there are always different levels of learning for different stages
- 21:21Speaker 2: of your life. If right now, like financially it doesn't
- 21:24Speaker 2: feel viable for you to book in with somebody, read
- 21:26Speaker 2: the book of the podcast, yes you know, or do
- 21:28Speaker 2: like the ninety dollars masterclass. But then if you are
- 21:31Speaker 2: in a position where you can financially afford it, reach
- 21:33Speaker 2: out to a coach, go do an intensive for three months,
- 21:36Speaker 2: six months, or however long and really dive deep. But
- 21:38Speaker 2: just know that wherever you're at is perfect, and you
- 21:41Speaker 2: can start wherever you are.
- 21:43Speaker 1: Definitely, I love that you brought up the pricing too,
- 21:45Speaker 1: because whatever you'd like to learn on you could literally
- 21:48Speaker 1: time into YouTube and there is thousands, yeah, tens one
- 21:51Speaker 1: thousands of videos of coaches even teaching all of that. Yeah,
- 21:55Speaker 1: so many coaches that you love give out so much
- 21:57Speaker 1: free content all the time, and obviously one on one
- 22:00Speaker 1: is so much more potent. You can really personalize it
- 22:02Speaker 1: and tail it to your situations, your struggle, your wounds,
- 22:05Speaker 1: your triggers. Yeah, there's so much to learn online. If
- 22:08Speaker 1: Steve wants to understand something more in debt, like you
- 22:11Speaker 1: bet your heels for the next four weeks watching every
- 22:13Speaker 1: single year GBO he can find on it. Yeah.
- 22:16Speaker 2: Yeah, I've had women who have come to me and
- 22:18Speaker 2: message me and been like, I know, I've never worked
- 22:20Speaker 2: with you before, I've never spoken to you before, but
- 22:22Speaker 2: your free content has changed my life.
- 22:25Speaker 1: Wow.
- 22:25Speaker 2: But it's like it just depends on whether you're going
- 22:27Speaker 2: to be seeing that content as valuable or if you're
- 22:30Speaker 2: like Oh, it's just another piece of information online. You know,
- 22:33Speaker 2: if you treat the things that you're learning through books,
- 22:36Speaker 2: through courses, through free content as if you just paid
- 22:39Speaker 2: ten thousand dollars for it.
- 22:41Speaker 1: So true.
- 22:41Speaker 2: Trust me, you will implement it, love it.
- 22:44Speaker 1: Thanks for joining us, guys. We'll see the next one.
- 22:46Speaker 1: Bye bye.
