- 0:05Speaker 1: Apoday production.
- 0:10Speaker 2: We begin today by acknowledging the traditional custodians of the
- 0:13Speaker 2: land on which we gather today and pay our respects
- 0:16Speaker 2: to their elders past and present. We extend that respect
- 0:19Speaker 2: to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people's here today.
- 0:25Speaker 1: Welcome to the Grow and Glow Podcast. I'm Ashy, I'm Kiara.
- 0:28Speaker 1: This is a podcast where we learn, laugh, and level
- 0:31Speaker 1: up together.
- 0:32Speaker 3: Let's go deep, let the emotions flow, and find the
- 0:34Speaker 3: lessons to grow and Glow. Nothing is off the table
- 0:37Speaker 3: with Grow and Glow and we're here to be your expander.
- 0:43Speaker 1: Good morning, everybody, or good afternoon wherever you are. Welcome
- 0:46Speaker 1: back to Well And I've been a very very special
- 0:51Speaker 1: guest here.
- 0:52Speaker 3: One of my bestest friends in the whole wide world,
- 0:54Speaker 3: someone who I look up to, who's just been there
- 0:56Speaker 3: for me through all the ups and downs. We continue
- 0:58Speaker 3: to be there for each other, and was actually very
- 1:01Speaker 3: highly requested to be on the potty in our forum.
- 1:03Speaker 3: Like once one person asked, it was just like yes, get.
- 1:06Speaker 1: Her on, get her on. I was like, she's just
- 1:08Speaker 1: had a baby. I'm not going to ask her. And
- 1:10Speaker 1: then I asked her. She was like yes, I'd love too.
- 1:13Speaker 1: So we've got Megsi here, Hello, excited.
- 1:18Speaker 3: Every Monday episode we do a share of the week,
- 1:19Speaker 3: but because you're our guest, you get to share something.
- 1:24Speaker 4: Well. I think we should go for the shoes.
- 1:26Speaker 3: As soon as I saw her this morning, I'm like, shoes,
- 1:29Speaker 3: they're are so I can show you.
- 1:32Speaker 4: Yeah, these New Balances you always get there.
- 1:36Speaker 3: I get the five thirties, but these are the nineties, sixties.
- 1:38Speaker 4: Ninety sixties, and I think I've always looked at those
- 1:41Speaker 4: and thought they looked so freaking epic on you.
- 1:44Speaker 1: Oh thank you.
- 1:45Speaker 4: I don't know. I feel like I like the chunkier
- 1:47Speaker 4: Yeah for me, like.
- 1:48Speaker 1: So cool, chunky.
- 1:49Speaker 3: I just bought a pair of green ones or the
- 1:51Speaker 3: chunky ones, and I prefer them.
- 1:53Speaker 4: Yeah, the black and white. It's five.
- 1:56Speaker 3: Why is New Balance such a cool brand now? It
- 1:58Speaker 3: used to be like an old dad brand and now
- 2:00Speaker 3: it's like the trendiest shoe brand now.
- 2:02Speaker 4: Kay, the nineties are back, baby.
- 2:04Speaker 1: The full rebrand. Got to give it to them.
- 2:07Speaker 3: There was so many topics that I feel like we
- 2:10Speaker 3: could talk about because just like here and I like,
- 2:12Speaker 3: we talk about anything and everything and we're open books.
- 2:16Speaker 3: But there's a particular topic that I feel you're very
- 2:19Speaker 3: passionate about and you help so many women through and
- 2:21Speaker 3: that's connecting with that inner child. So where did your
- 2:25Speaker 3: whole journey start from to connect with your inner child
- 2:28Speaker 3: to then be like, wow, this is so powerful.
- 2:30Speaker 1: I want to help other women with this.
- 2:32Speaker 4: So my journey in personal development it started years and
- 2:37Speaker 4: years and years ago. And I think it was the Secret.
- 2:40Speaker 4: Do you guys know that?
- 2:40Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, I love it. Yeah, the Secret.
- 2:44Speaker 4: Yeah. And that was kind of like my first little
- 2:47Speaker 4: thing of like, Wow, there's more to life, There's more here.
- 2:50Speaker 4: I always was really curious, and after having my first daughter, Sonny,
- 2:55Speaker 4: then I feel like I really started becoming super conscious
- 2:58Speaker 4: to all the decisions I'm making in life and why
- 3:01Speaker 4: am I making this decision? What's swaying me that way?
- 3:04Speaker 4: And then I just started getting actual mentorship on just
- 3:09Speaker 4: personal development and growth and what's going on in my
- 3:12Speaker 4: internal world. And I realized that so much of what
- 3:17Speaker 4: I think, what I believe, what I perceive, what I
- 3:19Speaker 4: think is right wrong, All of these things comes down
- 3:23Speaker 4: to all of the experiences I've had in the past
- 3:25Speaker 4: throughout my entire life, and a lot of that is shaped,
- 3:29Speaker 4: particularly when you're a child, but it can be just
- 3:33Speaker 4: you know, one year ago, six months ago. So I
- 3:36Speaker 4: like to call it like in a child or past
- 3:38Speaker 4: self healing, and it's just having a look at you,
- 3:43Speaker 4: what did I experience in all of these different moments
- 3:46Speaker 4: through my life, and maybe what experience impacted the way
- 3:51Speaker 4: that I think about this particular thing. So that's where
- 3:55Speaker 4: it started for me. And once I started really healing
- 4:01Speaker 4: some parts of me that I feel was keeping me
- 4:05Speaker 4: duck or keeping me replaying patterns and behaviors that were
- 4:09Speaker 4: really just not serving me anymore, I was like, Wow,
- 4:13Speaker 4: this is where it all comes from, Like in a worthiness,
- 4:16Speaker 4: how much we love ourselves and feel confident to go
- 4:19Speaker 4: after the things we want in life, and how much
- 4:22Speaker 4: we can speak up our boundaries and just make decisions
- 4:26Speaker 4: that serve our higher self and our greater potential. And
- 4:30Speaker 4: I realized it. It always comes back to this.
- 4:32Speaker 1: I feel this work.
- 4:34Speaker 3: It doesn't ever stop, right because more things come up
- 4:37Speaker 3: and you're like, oh, let's unpack that. Oh that might
- 4:40Speaker 3: have happened because when this happened when I was younger,
- 4:43Speaker 3: And it never gets to a point where you're like, oh,
- 4:44Speaker 3: I've done that.
- 4:45Speaker 1: I'm all good now.
- 4:46Speaker 4: Absolutely. I always say that if you're dealing with something
- 4:49Speaker 4: from your past, I don't feel that it's ever just
- 4:52Speaker 4: wrapped up into a box. You put a bowl in it,
- 4:54Speaker 4: put it away in a shelf. You way like it
- 4:56Speaker 4: is a part of you, and it gets to be
- 4:58Speaker 4: something that you learn how to live with, maybe more
- 5:02Speaker 4: ease and grace, or maybe it doesn't affect you as
- 5:05Speaker 4: big as it used to. You know, you kind of
- 5:08Speaker 4: it can ease off. But we have memories. Our body
- 5:12Speaker 4: has memories. It's stored somatically. There are some modalities that
- 5:16Speaker 4: do say they can rearrange the way that you remember things,
- 5:19Speaker 4: and so therefore how you react to those things now
- 5:23Speaker 4: might not affect you. But yeah, I think that some
- 5:26Speaker 4: of these things are always going to be there, even
- 5:28Speaker 4: if a little bit.
- 5:29Speaker 5: Yeah, I found too for myself personally, all my inner
- 5:32Speaker 5: child things that started to pop up happened around the
- 5:35Speaker 5: time of having my first child. Is this a regular
- 5:38Speaker 5: occurrence that you seem to notice.
- 5:40Speaker 4: Yeah, definitely. I think that becoming a mummy or becoming
- 5:44Speaker 4: a new mother, you know, there's so much of you
- 5:47Speaker 4: that is rebirthed and your priorities are just totally rearranged.
- 5:53Speaker 4: The perspective the way you see the world. You're just
- 5:55Speaker 4: like wow, like there's this little human that I'm now
- 5:59Speaker 4: responsible for and also showing them how to live life.
- 6:02Speaker 4: How am I showing up in life? You know? So
- 6:05Speaker 4: I think there's that aspect. And then also, especially when
- 6:09Speaker 4: as women we have daughters, we see so much of
- 6:11Speaker 4: ourselves in them and we think about, oh, how did
- 6:14Speaker 4: I experience that when I grew up? Tah, did my
- 6:16Speaker 4: parents teach me when or treat me when I was
- 6:19Speaker 4: navigating this thing?
- 6:20Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 6:21Speaker 4: Or when I went to KINDI like what kind of
- 6:23Speaker 4: you know, did I have a mini trauma there where
- 6:26Speaker 4: I was bleed or someone storm my lunch or you know,
- 6:29Speaker 4: all these things and can really start to yeah, come out.
- 6:32Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 6:33Speaker 3: So such a good point, isn't it? Something that you
- 6:36Speaker 3: said to me, which I've done two in a Child
- 6:38Speaker 3: Healings with you now and they were amazing. I've spoken
- 6:41Speaker 3: about in the podcast before, but something that you said
- 6:43Speaker 3: in one of them really stuck with me because I
- 6:46Speaker 3: kind of had separated like my younger self as like
- 6:49Speaker 3: my past self, like almost like she's gone, but you
- 6:52Speaker 3: were like, she's always a part of you. So now
- 6:54Speaker 3: when I try to connect with my inner child. It's
- 6:57Speaker 3: like she's right next to me or she's within me,
- 6:59Speaker 3: but I visualize her right there and she's never going anywhere.
- 7:02Speaker 3: And my job now is to always make sure that
- 7:04Speaker 3: I'm there for her and giving her what she needs.
- 7:06Speaker 1: And that's been.
- 7:07Speaker 3: Really helpful because it's just in a way, it's just
- 7:10Speaker 3: another way to support myself because she's a part of me.
- 7:13Speaker 3: She's not separate to me. But I have thought that
- 7:15Speaker 3: it's separate because that part of my life's done, but
- 7:18Speaker 3: it's never really done. Yeah, And that was a cool
- 7:20Speaker 3: realization for me. It has helped me continue to be
- 7:22Speaker 3: able to from those healings not disconnect with her. I
- 7:26Speaker 3: stayed connect with her because that first one, it was
- 7:28Speaker 3: in your lounge room, second was in your bedroom. In
- 7:30Speaker 3: the first one, I was telling you, it was like
- 7:31Speaker 3: so quickly I could drop in and see her, and
- 7:34Speaker 3: I cried so much because I was like, I felt
- 7:36Speaker 3: like this real human that I got to cuddle and
- 7:39Speaker 3: like actually fully see her pain and see her tears.
- 7:42Speaker 3: And it was so easy to connect with her because
- 7:44Speaker 3: I'm like, it's this, yeah, like a daughter or like
- 7:47Speaker 3: a friend, like you want to be there for them.
- 7:49Speaker 1: It was just such a.
- 7:49Speaker 3: Beautiful experience that I wish everyone could tap into that,
- 7:52Speaker 3: but I do find it it was harder to do
- 7:54Speaker 3: by myself. Like it is nice to have a woman's
- 7:57Speaker 3: coach like yourself who can guide you through that.
- 7:59Speaker 1: So could you talk us through a little bit.
- 8:01Speaker 3: About your healings and how you learn how to do
- 8:04Speaker 3: that and just how powerful that work is.
- 8:07Speaker 4: Yeah, that's so cool that you had that experience and
- 8:09Speaker 4: now can just now shifted things for you moving forward,
- 8:13Speaker 4: because you're so right, it's absolutely this little girl she
- 8:19Speaker 4: experienced whatever she experienced back then, or even your younger self,
- 8:23Speaker 4: whatever age it was, they had this experience, and we
- 8:26Speaker 4: grow up and we think, oh, that shouldn't bother me now,
- 8:29Speaker 4: Like I was so little there it was all of
- 8:31Speaker 4: this time ago. We kind of have these coping mechanisms
- 8:34Speaker 4: within ourselves which our body tries to protect us. Right,
- 8:37Speaker 4: it's doing its job. But that little gush is you,
- 8:40Speaker 4: this body that was her. So those thoughts, those feelings,
- 8:44Speaker 4: any traumas, any joys and good memories too, Like they
- 8:48Speaker 4: reside in your body, in your mind and your self
- 8:51Speaker 4: conscious they're there. So to just discount her and what
- 8:56Speaker 4: she experienced is Yeah, a big part of the disconnection
- 8:59Speaker 4: that wors her and feel and the healings that I do.
- 9:03Speaker 4: I've experienced a few different ones myself and through different
- 9:07Speaker 4: workshops and different mentors. It's really intuitive. I think that
- 9:13Speaker 4: for me, it's really important that I build a connection
- 9:16Speaker 4: with my client. And obviously we're very connected, and I
- 9:19Speaker 4: almost drop in and visualize you as whatever age it
- 9:22Speaker 4: is that we're talking about, and I just talk you
- 9:26Speaker 4: through a way to help you in your mind to connect.
- 9:30Speaker 4: Like you said, like that visualization of actually like seeing
- 9:32Speaker 4: her in your mind's eye and connecting with her with
- 9:35Speaker 4: your heart and feeling her. And yeah, it's just about
- 9:39Speaker 4: acknowledging her, seeing her and maybe even tapping back into
- 9:44Speaker 4: some memories where you get to go back and love
- 9:47Speaker 4: on her in those moments and connecting with her either
- 9:52Speaker 4: as the woman that you are now or from your
- 9:54Speaker 4: higher self. And it's very intuitive, and like I said,
- 9:58Speaker 4: it's not something that I would just do on like
- 10:01Speaker 4: a one off basis with somebody that I didn't know
- 10:04Speaker 4: or wasn't coach or connected with. There are certain visualizations
- 10:08Speaker 4: that I couldn't kind of like speak and do like
- 10:11Speaker 4: sales to record a visualization or a meditation that I
- 10:15Speaker 4: think people definitely benefit from, but it probably wouldn't have
- 10:18Speaker 4: the same effect like what you experienced, and it's probably
- 10:21Speaker 4: what you felt trying to do it on your own.
- 10:23Speaker 4: Maybe yeah, other guided you know, visualization, I'm.
- 10:26Speaker 3: Sure a part of your coaching too, I know for
- 10:29Speaker 3: myself and for breath work too. I think why I
- 10:31Speaker 3: can drop in so quickly with you is because I
- 10:33Speaker 3: feel safe. And that's the importance of when you are
- 10:35Speaker 3: finding a coach, that it is someone that you really
- 10:38Speaker 3: connect with, you feel aligned with. You maybe share similar
- 10:41Speaker 3: values with how they parent or how they show up
- 10:43Speaker 3: in their relationship, look up to them, but you feel
- 10:45Speaker 3: safe with them because I have been to other breathworks before,
- 10:48Speaker 3: or different workshops where I maybe deep down I didn't
- 10:51Speaker 3: feel safe, so I didn't drop in and relax into it.
- 10:53Speaker 3: It was with you, it was just instant. So with
- 10:55Speaker 3: your coaching, do you find that you wouldn't go into
- 10:58Speaker 3: the inner child healings until you've done like a couple
- 11:01Speaker 3: of sessions and really got to know their past and
- 11:03Speaker 3: where they're at and their beliefs and theeriences.
- 11:06Speaker 4: Yeah, exactly, and especially if I know there's traumatic events
- 11:10Speaker 4: or things that we're going to be dealing with. It's
- 11:13Speaker 4: almost like opening Pandora's box sometimes, so you have to
- 11:16Speaker 4: be really aware of that and really careful, and you know,
- 11:21Speaker 4: have that rapport and that aftercare as well with someone yea.
- 11:24Speaker 4: And in saying all of this as well, you know,
- 11:26Speaker 4: as a coach, I see my role as helping to
- 11:30Speaker 4: empower women to be on their healing journey. So I
- 11:34Speaker 4: definitely also through kind of doing this experience with them,
- 11:38Speaker 4: show them how they can then go and do that
- 11:40Speaker 4: on their own at home, and how they can drop
- 11:43Speaker 4: into it and the different things that they can think about.
- 11:45Speaker 4: And a big part of that as well is, like
- 11:47Speaker 4: you said, helping them to feel safe, So helping them
- 11:50Speaker 4: feel safe in their bodies, and sometimes even just doing
- 11:53Speaker 4: it once with say a mentor or a coach is
- 11:56Speaker 4: enough to help you feel like, oh, this is actually okay,
- 11:58Speaker 4: It's not as scary or hard as I thought. A
- 12:01Speaker 4: lot of people think with different healing modalities, and let's say,
- 12:05Speaker 4: in a child healing, they might think, oh, I'm so
- 12:08Speaker 4: scared to go back there and feel that again or
- 12:10Speaker 4: unpack it, or like that hurt me so much, Like
- 12:12Speaker 4: I don't want to go back there. But when you're
- 12:15Speaker 4: healing these parts of you and you're allowing the emotion
- 12:18Speaker 4: to move through you, and you're being held in that
- 12:21Speaker 4: and you are actually processing what happened afterwards, most people
- 12:26Speaker 4: feel really light and they actually feel like wow, like
- 12:31Speaker 4: they might have a really good sleep that night, or
- 12:33Speaker 4: have lots of downloads or you know, things are shifting.
- 12:36Speaker 4: But generally it's not as heavy as people think it
- 12:39Speaker 4: might be, and it's not as energetically draining often as
- 12:43Speaker 4: people think it might be.
- 12:44Speaker 1: Because you're clearing it.
- 12:45Speaker 3: You're clearing stuff that is blocked or you've been carrying
- 12:48Speaker 3: the weight of it for thirty odd years, you actually
- 12:51Speaker 3: get to move through some of that.
- 12:52Speaker 4: The pain that people feel of like that's going to
- 12:55Speaker 4: be too much or painful or overwhelming is the pain
- 12:58Speaker 4: that they're feeling from suppressing and from carrying the way
- 13:01Speaker 4: and like trying to stifle the heavy feelings emotions. So
- 13:05Speaker 4: they're like, oh, nah, that's painful, I'm going to shut
- 13:08Speaker 4: off to that again instead of learning how to let
- 13:11Speaker 4: it flow.
- 13:11Speaker 5: So and maybe like the outcome, So somebody who does
- 13:15Speaker 5: this sort of healing and taps into it, I know
- 13:17Speaker 5: we've said like that they feel lighter, but like who
- 13:19Speaker 5: you know people that struggle with anxiety or maybe struggle
- 13:23Speaker 5: with confidence issues, and I've spoken about that, but just
- 13:25Speaker 5: kind of like maybe some transformations that you've seen from
- 13:27Speaker 5: working with people and how they can come out the
- 13:29Speaker 5: other side. Yeah.
- 13:32Speaker 4: Yeah, Well, I personally think a lot of these things
- 13:35Speaker 4: that you talk about, like confidence and feelings of anxiousness,
- 13:39Speaker 4: a lot of these things started somewhere and they're rooted somewhere,
- 13:42Speaker 4: so obviously going back and trying to find and work
- 13:46Speaker 4: on the source of where they originated from it is
- 13:50Speaker 4: so powerful in your healing journey. Instead of doing these
- 13:53Speaker 4: affirmations or reading these books or trying to take steps forward,
- 13:58Speaker 4: instead of clearing and shifting the past, it just propels
- 14:02Speaker 4: you forward a lot more. Not to say that doing
- 14:05Speaker 4: affirmations and these other things are bad or you shouldn't
- 14:07Speaker 4: do them, it's just the changing your neural pathways in
- 14:11Speaker 4: your brain. It's a lot harder. It's like I always
- 14:14Speaker 4: use this analogy that if you were going down a
- 14:16Speaker 4: snow field and you went down the same path over
- 14:19Speaker 4: and over again on your snowboard, you'd like make this
- 14:22Speaker 4: deep ridge, and now what you want to do? You
- 14:24Speaker 4: want to go somewhere else. So when you're trying to
- 14:26Speaker 4: carve the new path, it's like harder, yes, and your
- 14:30Speaker 4: board might get a bit stuck, and so then you
- 14:32Speaker 4: go back the old way, the old path. And this
- 14:34Speaker 4: is what it's like, trying to create those new neural
- 14:36Speaker 4: pathways in your brain and take different action when you're
- 14:39Speaker 4: wanting change and you're wanting to do something different. So
- 14:42Speaker 4: it can be really hard if you're just like I'm
- 14:44Speaker 4: going to try. But if you get out a shovel
- 14:48Speaker 4: and you make the new pathway where you want to
- 14:50Speaker 4: go and clear the snow, then it's a lot easier
- 14:53Speaker 4: for you to make that decision to choose differently, to
- 14:56Speaker 4: do differently. To be honest, people that I work with
- 15:00Speaker 4: one on one, their entire lives change. Like they are
- 15:05Speaker 4: just able to show up so differently as parents in
- 15:08Speaker 4: their relationships and going after the dreams and goals that
- 15:12Speaker 4: they have. Like people have new relationships and new businesses
- 15:16Speaker 4: and new jobs, and just like they really get to
- 15:20Speaker 4: flourish and they get to clear self sabotage self doubt.
- 15:25Speaker 4: I've had a beautiful client find her purpose and her
- 15:29Speaker 4: calling and start a beautiful business helping and healing other people.
- 15:33Speaker 4: I've had a beautiful client who was able to let
- 15:36Speaker 4: go over a relationship that was no longer serving her
- 15:39Speaker 4: and then now she's engaged to a new, incredible partner
- 15:42Speaker 4: and just thriving and living more to her values, more
- 15:47Speaker 4: aligned to her values. And yeah, just so many stories
- 15:51Speaker 4: like that, So.
- 15:52Speaker 3: Sounds like it helps them thrive, not just survive through
- 15:55Speaker 3: each day. I think a lot of people get so
- 15:57Speaker 3: caught up and thinking like, this is just my life,
- 15:59Speaker 3: this is how it's always been, Like I've always thought
- 16:00Speaker 3: like that, or my mom did this, It's just what
- 16:02Speaker 3: it is. But it actually doesn't have to be like that.
- 16:05Speaker 3: You can change your beliefs, and you can change the
- 16:07Speaker 3: way you see things, even though your childhood might have
- 16:09Speaker 3: looked a certain way. Do you think the first seven
- 16:12Speaker 3: years of our life is the most impressionable and that's
- 16:15Speaker 3: where most of our beliefs and experiences come from that
- 16:18Speaker 3: shape us to be howd we show up as adults?
- 16:20Speaker 4: Yeah, that's what they say. That's the most delicate time
- 16:24Speaker 4: in our life, those seven years where we're so connected
- 16:28Speaker 4: with our caregivers, so we really learning and watching from
- 16:32Speaker 4: them and being little sponges. And if we're not receiving
- 16:35Speaker 4: the love and affection and care, and we're not held
- 16:39Speaker 4: through our emotions and you know a lot of these
- 16:42Speaker 4: common things. You know, all of our parents doing the
- 16:44Speaker 4: best they could with what they have. But there is
- 16:47Speaker 4: a lot of people out there walking around that experience that.
- 16:51Speaker 4: So that's hard wiring your system telling it this is
- 16:55Speaker 4: how it is. And it's also putting your body in
- 16:58Speaker 4: maybe fight and flight, or it's telling your nervous system
- 17:02Speaker 4: then that like this is dangerous, I'm in fear and
- 17:05Speaker 4: might develop some tendencies to help us gain a little
- 17:08Speaker 4: bit of control. So we might have picked up some
- 17:11Speaker 4: habits or some little quirks or things or behaviors and
- 17:14Speaker 4: patterns that now we're thinking that doesn't serve me anymore,
- 17:18Speaker 4: or could come back from those years. Yeah.
- 17:21Speaker 3: So for anyone listening and they've never done any of
- 17:24Speaker 3: this work, but they feel a pull to do it
- 17:27Speaker 3: that I don't know who to go to, that I
- 17:29Speaker 3: don't know where to start. What advice would you give
- 17:31Speaker 3: to someone.
- 17:32Speaker 4: The first bit of advice I would give is to
- 17:36Speaker 4: really dig into finding the courage to going there and
- 17:42Speaker 4: finding a way to help yourself feel safe in your
- 17:44Speaker 4: body and you know, this work is so nuanced. People
- 17:49Speaker 4: can be feeling really really unsafe in their current state
- 17:52Speaker 4: in their bodies and think, oh my gosh, to go there,
- 17:55Speaker 4: it's too much. So the first part of your work
- 17:59Speaker 4: would be to work on your nervous system, to work
- 18:03Speaker 4: on just yeah, coming into your body so like breath
- 18:06Speaker 4: and slowness, and creating a little beautiful space for yourself
- 18:09Speaker 4: to do any of this work, carving out some time,
- 18:13Speaker 4: setting up a beautiful little environment. You can also find
- 18:16Speaker 4: something that can be like a tether for you to
- 18:19Speaker 4: hold onto, you know, like when people go diving and
- 18:21Speaker 4: they follow the rope. Something you might have a pet
- 18:24Speaker 4: that you want to keep close by in stroke, or
- 18:27Speaker 4: a teddy or I don't know, something that a partner
- 18:30Speaker 4: or something that you can kind of hold onto for
- 18:31Speaker 4: a bit of safety as you dip your toe into
- 18:33Speaker 4: this work, and that keeps you grounded and feeling safe.
- 18:37Speaker 4: So that's the first thing that I would say. The
- 18:41Speaker 4: second bit of advice that I always give, which is
- 18:43Speaker 4: easier for parents, but it can be helpful to anyone,
- 18:47Speaker 4: is to connect with someone. So if you're a woman,
- 18:51Speaker 4: connect with a little girl that you know around the
- 18:53Speaker 4: age that you're wanting to kind of drop into and
- 18:57Speaker 4: think of her like imagine your doater, imagine your niece,
- 19:00Speaker 4: imagine whoever it might be, and say, in a moment
- 19:04Speaker 4: that you might be feeling like you're not confident to
- 19:07Speaker 4: go and do something or to speak up, to have
- 19:09Speaker 4: a boundary to express what you want. Imagine this being
- 19:13Speaker 4: your daughter and what you would say to her, and
- 19:15Speaker 4: how you would hold her, how you would hold her emotions,
- 19:19Speaker 4: how you would look at her, and then you can
- 19:21Speaker 4: start to envision that being you.
- 19:23Speaker 3: Yea.
- 19:24Speaker 4: And I guess if you don't have a coach currently,
- 19:29Speaker 4: or you're not ready for that part in your journey,
- 19:32Speaker 4: or you don't think it's for you, or you feel
- 19:34Speaker 4: it's out of reach, I've just launched my new monthly membership.
- 19:38Speaker 4: It's called the Growth Resort, and that's where you're going
- 19:42Speaker 4: to be able to stay tapped into all of this
- 19:44Speaker 4: kind of work. And my plans for this space are
- 19:47Speaker 4: to have little visualizations and meditations and it is also
- 19:53Speaker 4: going to be giving you constant inspiration and motivation just
- 19:58Speaker 4: so that you can stay kind of I guess, yeah,
- 20:03Speaker 4: like I said, tapped into this work and see other
- 20:05Speaker 4: people doing it within the community, it starts to kind
- 20:08Speaker 4: of get normalized for you. Yes, yeah, yeah, and you think, oh, okay,
- 20:15Speaker 4: I see these other people doing it, It's okay, I
- 20:16Speaker 4: can do it.
- 20:17Speaker 3: How important is your environment and who you surround yourself
- 20:19Speaker 3: with exactly? It inspires you, it leads you, it normalizes it.
- 20:23Speaker 3: And once you start to surround yourself with people doing
- 20:27Speaker 3: this work as well, I feel like you can even
- 20:29Speaker 3: feel a divide of other people that those relationships weren't
- 20:32Speaker 3: serving you or they're not in that same path as you,
- 20:34Speaker 3: and you can see how that might be holding you back.
- 20:36Speaker 3: And then you surround yourself with people that are doing
- 20:38Speaker 3: this work, it just makes you want to lean into
- 20:40Speaker 3: it more and it makes you feel safe to do
- 20:41Speaker 3: it as well. And then I think when you feel safe,
- 20:44Speaker 3: you feel progress, you enjoy it more, and that's really
- 20:47Speaker 3: cool as well. Our second session that we did together
- 20:50Speaker 3: was so different to the first. When I first started
- 20:53Speaker 3: coaching with Megsie, I felt this pool to find a
- 20:56Speaker 3: coach that worked with women on their feminine energy and
- 21:00Speaker 3: the inner child healings and everything, and I was like,
- 21:02Speaker 3: look around on socials and I just couldn't find him
- 21:04Speaker 3: on that connected with it.
- 21:05Speaker 1: I was like, what am I doing?
- 21:07Speaker 3: I think I hesitated because we're such good friends. I
- 21:09Speaker 3: didn't know whether you would want to cross that path.
- 21:12Speaker 3: But when you said yes straighta, I was like, yay,
- 21:14Speaker 3: and it was beautiful. But the second one we did
- 21:16Speaker 3: was so different. So you laid me down in your
- 21:19Speaker 3: bed and you've got your salt lamp, beautiful music and
- 21:23Speaker 3: sprayed some delicious smelling I don't know, it was lovely
- 21:27Speaker 3: blanket over me, and you basically took me through like
- 21:31Speaker 3: a guided would you say, meditation or visualization, and we
- 21:36Speaker 3: went back throughout my whole life, and I was in
- 21:41Speaker 3: a state that I could actually visualize so many different ages,
- 21:45Speaker 3: and so many things came up that are like I
- 21:47Speaker 3: just had not thought of or remembered in god knows.
- 21:50Speaker 1: How long, just different stages.
- 21:53Speaker 3: I think most of them were harder times in my life,
- 21:56Speaker 3: from when I was you know, three to five, to
- 21:58Speaker 3: seven to nine, ten, thirteen, fifteen, seventeen, I think it
- 22:02Speaker 3: was twenty twenty three, like all these a and it
- 22:06Speaker 3: was incredible to go back had so many Yeah, there
- 22:09Speaker 3: was a couple of pages because Megsy wrote out everything
- 22:11Speaker 3: that I was talking about, and in each of those moments,
- 22:15Speaker 3: it was just so cool to go back. I could
- 22:17Speaker 3: remember where I was, I could remember like how my
- 22:19Speaker 3: hair looked, I remember just what I needed in that moment.
- 22:23Speaker 3: And there was one particular bedroom I would think I
- 22:25Speaker 3: was thirteen.
- 22:26Speaker 1: I remember the house.
- 22:27Speaker 3: I had rainbow colored walls, and I just remember this
- 22:30Speaker 3: one particular powerful moment because it was at a really
- 22:32Speaker 3: hard point in my life with my stepdad, and I
- 22:35Speaker 3: remember he had sent me down to my room and
- 22:36Speaker 3: I was crying by myself and the way you guided
- 22:40Speaker 3: me to for me now I as an adult and
- 22:43Speaker 3: my higher self who I am now to walk into
- 22:46Speaker 3: the room and meet my little girl and give her
- 22:49Speaker 3: what she needed.
- 22:50Speaker 1: And it was so cool.
- 22:51Speaker 3: And I remember like sitting I was crunchedhopping a ball
- 22:53Speaker 3: as a little girl up near my pillows, and I
- 22:56Speaker 3: remember me sitting on the edge of my bed, not
- 22:58Speaker 3: going in too quickly because I didn want my little
- 23:00Speaker 3: girl to feel scared, and just.
- 23:01Speaker 1: Making sure she felt safe.
- 23:02Speaker 3: But like just everything that I would have dreamt of
- 23:05Speaker 3: having my parents do as a little girl, and I
- 23:06Speaker 3: got to go and give that to myself, and that
- 23:09Speaker 3: was so powerful to not only heal me at that age,
- 23:13Speaker 3: but then also to realize like, wow, I can actually
- 23:15Speaker 3: do that at any moment, at any moment that I
- 23:18Speaker 3: need safety, security, reassurance, and I feel like my whole
- 23:23Speaker 3: life I have always looked and this is like my
- 23:26Speaker 3: anxious attachment too, which we've been learning a lot about.
- 23:28Speaker 3: I've always looked for someone else to make me feel
- 23:30Speaker 3: safe because I never felt safe for my own body,
- 23:32Speaker 3: or in my environment or in my upbringing. So in
- 23:35Speaker 3: that moment at age thirteen, doing that for my little
- 23:37Speaker 3: girl and just like holding her and I reckon. We
- 23:40Speaker 3: probably stayed there for quite a while, just holding her.
- 23:43Speaker 3: It was just so powerful. So from then I've been
- 23:46Speaker 3: able to and I'm still practicing. I'll still have moments
- 23:48Speaker 3: where I'll be like, oh, this is interesting or this
- 23:50Speaker 3: is uncomfortable, and I've got to carve the space out
- 23:54Speaker 3: to do that. But it's so nice to know and
- 23:55Speaker 3: everyone listening that you can be that person for yourself
- 23:58Speaker 3: and we don't have to keep looking for outside people
- 24:02Speaker 3: or things to fill that void. We've got that than ourselves.
- 24:06Speaker 3: But I would never have known or believed that, because
- 24:08Speaker 3: I've heard people say that before and I've kind of
- 24:10Speaker 3: not rolled my eyes.
- 24:12Speaker 1: But maybe now I've experienced it, you got to be honest,
- 24:17Speaker 1: keep it real.
- 24:19Speaker 3: But experiencing that, I was like, wow, And that is
- 24:22Speaker 3: where I see the power in having a one on
- 24:24Speaker 3: one coach. Because I love podcasts, I love reading books,
- 24:28Speaker 3: I love going to seminars. They're all powerful and I
- 24:30Speaker 3: would always do that stuff, but there is something so
- 24:32Speaker 3: powerful but having a one on one coach that can
- 24:35Speaker 3: really just meet you where you need to be met
- 24:37Speaker 3: and help you see the true potential and light that
- 24:40Speaker 3: we all have within our hearts and our bodies. And like,
- 24:43Speaker 3: I just, yeah, thank you so much for that because
- 24:45Speaker 3: it was so awesome. But it's so cool, even out
- 24:47Speaker 3: of two sessions, how much I got out of it. Yeah, Like,
- 24:50Speaker 3: it's so cool. And I love that you've launched this membership.
- 24:53Speaker 3: I've been waiting for you to do something like this
- 24:54Speaker 3: because I feel like so many people, even in our forum,
- 24:58Speaker 3: want more access to you and your wisdom and your
- 25:01Speaker 3: light and your energy and your knowledge, but it hasn't
- 25:04Speaker 3: been as easy to access that. And I'm so lucky
- 25:06Speaker 3: I've got you as a best friend that I can call
- 25:08Speaker 3: you and drop into your case and say hello, I'm back.
- 25:15Speaker 3: But also why I've chose you to be my godmother
- 25:17Speaker 3: for my little girl Tala, because I just know how
- 25:19Speaker 3: safe and hell she's going to feel with having you
- 25:22Speaker 3: and her life just like I do.
- 25:24Speaker 1: So the work you do.
- 25:26Speaker 3: Is incredible and magical, and I hope everyone got just
- 25:28Speaker 3: a little glimpse and taste of that. But if they're
- 25:31Speaker 3: wanting more, reveretly, you have this platform now that they
- 25:33Speaker 3: can come and connect with you to get more of it.
- 25:35Speaker 1: Because we love you, love you so much. I love you,
- 25:39Speaker 1: Thank you so much for being here today.
- 25:41Speaker 4: Thank you for having me.
- 25:42Speaker 3: Thank you appreciate it so much. Obviously we could talk
