- Jessica Figueroa: My favorite people. My favorite people are people that love to grow. And that's what this podcast is all about. Growing in community with other people because everyone listening today, we're all going to try to do the same thing. This is the Just For Today podcast, and my name is Cindy Marler. And today we are going to send someone money for no reason. We're going to send someone money for no reason. I don't care if it's $5, $10, $20, you can send it in the mail in a little cash envelope. You can send it via Zell. And if they respond back, they're like, what is this for? You're just going to say, no reason. But then here's the magic ticket. I want you to ask for it back, not from the person. I just want you to say out loud, if you send $5, I just want to say, I want that $5 to come back to me. I don't care how, I don't care when. I just want it to come back to me. And I want you to use this to see how the flow of generosity works. And the flow of generosity is cyclical. You can't possibly give without getting it back some way. ⁓ even the Lord talks about this when he talks about the tithe. Trust me in this and see if I won't open my storehouses and pour out blessings upon you. So the act of being spontaneously generous will return to you. You don't know how, you don't know when. So just for today, I want you to send someone some money. And if you can, go big. Maybe you can send $500 to someone. Maybe you can think of someone who you know that would make a big difference or they're about to go on a trip and maybe that $500 means the difference between something they would get to do and would not. Again, and it could be $5 you drop in the mail and put it in a put a stamp on it and send it to someone. But today I want you to send someone some money for no reason. And then while you're sending it, I want you to ask for it back. Say, hey, I want this $100 back. I don't care how, I don't care when. And I want you to see how this process works and then recognize when it does come back to you. That you're like, ⁓ my goodness, it came back. And that helps build your trust about being a generous person. When you pay attention to how it comes back, it builds that confidence to continue to be generous because you know you can always trust that it comes back in some way, somehow, some shape or some form. So just for today, we're gonna send someone money without a reason. And then we're going to ask, not them, we're just going to say out loud and ask for it back. I love doing these things with you guys. I'll see you tomorrow.
