- 1:32Speaker 4: and an absolute force for change. Natasha bamblet aka the
- 1:37Speaker 4: Queen of Acknowledgments.
- 1:38Speaker 3: Welcome to the show. Even though you're on the show
- 1:41Speaker 3: every week, I know, it's so nice to actually be
- 1:44Speaker 3: here and be with you.
- 1:46Speaker 4: I'm so excited. This is such a good conversation. And
- 1:49Speaker 4: before or I know it's going to be a good conversation,
- 1:52Speaker 4: and before we get into it, I think we should
- 1:55Speaker 4: talk about how we met, because offline we were like,
- 1:57Speaker 4: oh yeah, like how did we meet? And we met
- 2:00Speaker 4: at it was International Women's Day event and you were
- 2:04Speaker 4: a guest at that event, as was I and I
- 2:06Speaker 4: remember seeing you. You were wearing themos gorgeous. I don't
- 2:09Speaker 4: know if you still have it, Hope you do zebra dress, yes,
- 2:11Speaker 4: and you looked so hot. Like I just looked at
- 2:14Speaker 4: you and I was like this woman, Oh my goodness,
- 2:18Speaker 4: who is she?
- 2:19Speaker 3: What does she do?
- 2:20Speaker 4: And so after like all of the like formalities happened,
- 2:23Speaker 4: I literally went up and introduced myself, was like, Hi,
- 2:25Speaker 4: I'm Victoria, and.
- 2:26Speaker 3: You just look like someone I would want to know.
- 2:28Speaker 4: And you're like Okay, so that's how we came to
- 2:32Speaker 4: be and you know, learn more about you and your
- 2:35Speaker 4: business and what you did. And then I was just obsessed,
- 2:39Speaker 4: like I loved the idea of a really meaningful acknowledgment,
- 2:44Speaker 4: and I think that that's where we could probably dive
- 2:47Speaker 4: in what were you doing before? Like, let's backtrack before
- 2:51Speaker 4: we actually dive in what were you doing before you
- 2:53Speaker 4: were the queen of acknowledgements? Like did you see yourself
- 2:56Speaker 4: running your own business? Were you already doing something?
- 2:59Speaker 2: Well? I had been doing it for a little.
- 3:02Speaker 1: While without it being what it is today as queen acknowledgments.
- 3:09Speaker 1: But I was just doing acknowledgments because that was just
- 3:11Speaker 1: a part of who you were. I am and bringing
- 3:15Speaker 1: that into the space of who it is that I'm
- 3:18Speaker 1: connecting with. And I started dancing. I started with a
- 3:23Speaker 1: group of kids in my shed dancing, and I was like,
- 3:26Speaker 1: this is what we're going to do because I knew
- 3:28Speaker 1: dancing could connect to all people. Music, dancing, moving our bodies.
- 3:34Speaker 1: It didn't have you know, age, gender, race, It connected
- 3:39Speaker 1: us all and it brained joy. And that's where I started,
- 3:42Speaker 1: and from then on it grew into workshops and my
- 3:47Speaker 1: acknowledgments were very short at the start. I didn't talk much.
- 3:51Speaker 1: I moved my body more than I did my mouth.
- 3:54Speaker 1: And then it just grew and somebody just said.
- 3:56Speaker 2: So is this what you do?
- 3:58Speaker 3: And I was like, yeah, yeah, but like it's just
- 4:01Speaker 3: for fun, Yeah, just because I just.
- 4:03Speaker 2: Do it, because it's I just do it.
- 4:05Speaker 3: Were you always charging for it? Like, were people paying
- 4:08Speaker 3: you for this privilege?
- 4:09Speaker 1: No?
- 4:10Speaker 2: So I just did it.
- 4:11Speaker 3: It just come with what point, did you go, this
- 4:13Speaker 3: is actually something I need to be charging.
- 4:16Speaker 1: For twenty twenty so it seems still fresh. And it
- 4:22Speaker 1: was in a time where life was chaotic already. Yeah,
- 4:27Speaker 1: And I started working on myself and found myself in
- 4:30Speaker 1: like women's spaces and with sisters who were also had
- 4:33Speaker 1: business because I was like, I don't even know what
- 4:35Speaker 1: being a business woman is, even though that I was doing.
- 4:39Speaker 3: We're still just all making it up.
- 4:40Speaker 4: Now that you're in it, in it, are you like, Oh,
- 4:43Speaker 4: we all don't know what we're talking about. We just
- 4:45Speaker 4: walk into the room with enough confidence that people take
- 4:47Speaker 4: us seriously, and yeah, then we actually go to our
- 4:50Speaker 4: work for the business side of things.
- 4:52Speaker 3: Yeah, still figuring.
- 4:54Speaker 2: That out as I go, But I think I just
- 4:56Speaker 2: led with myself first. Yeah, and the business followed.
- 5:00Speaker 1: And I think that's been the beauty of discovering this
- 5:06Speaker 1: work that I get to do because I'm just really
- 5:09Speaker 1: being my authentic self.
- 5:11Speaker 4: And that is so beautiful and like, I mean, I
- 5:14Speaker 4: don't do anything similar, but like being able to find
- 5:17Speaker 4: your authentic self with the work that you do is
- 5:19Speaker 4: so liberating, Like you genuinely don't feel like you're working,
- 5:22Speaker 4: and it's very similar with what I do.
- 5:25Speaker 3: Like I adore what I do. But I remember back when.
- 5:28Speaker 4: I was a financial advisor for a demographic of people
- 5:30Speaker 4: I didn't resonate with for you know, content that I
- 5:33Speaker 4: was like, oh, I just I really don't love this.
- 5:36Speaker 4: I was consistently burnt out. I was overwhelmed, Like I
- 5:39Speaker 4: didn't feel inspired with the work that I do. And
- 5:41Speaker 4: now you might go, Victoria Devine, you are crazy, like
- 5:44Speaker 4: you do these crazy hours. You're a mum, you do
- 5:47Speaker 4: and it's exactly what you do. But like that's what
- 5:50Speaker 4: brings me energy. Yeah, Like, yes, I'm very happy. Like
- 5:53Speaker 4: last night I ran a webinar from like eight till
- 5:56Speaker 4: nine thirty pm, and lots of people will be like
- 5:59Speaker 4: you did that after a day.
- 6:00Speaker 3: Of work five.
- 6:01Speaker 4: I couldn't wait to do that, Like I was so excited. Yeah,
- 6:05Speaker 4: I would have been more disappointed if I wasn't able
- 6:07Speaker 4: to do that. And I think that when you find
- 6:09Speaker 4: that passion, like, yeah, we do need to instill a
- 6:13Speaker 4: lot of good work life balance, and they're still like
- 6:15Speaker 4: pushing back to maintain my priorities. But it's really about
- 6:19Speaker 4: that being nourishing instead of it being training.
- 6:23Speaker 1: Yeah, I find like you, I wake up wanting to work,
- 6:28Speaker 1: wanting to do what I do in service of people
- 6:32Speaker 1: because I know it's impactful and it impacts me just
- 6:35Speaker 1: as much as it does those that are in my space. Yea,
- 6:39Speaker 1: I wake up with creative thoughts of what more can
- 6:43Speaker 1: I do and how more I can you know, impact
- 6:48Speaker 1: people that I haven't seen or you know, spoke with before.
- 6:51Speaker 2: I love it.
- 6:52Speaker 4: Talk to me about how you made it work financially?
- 6:55Speaker 4: What was it like going from you know, doing this
- 6:58Speaker 4: for free because you're like genuinely so passionate about it
- 7:00Speaker 4: and that comes across but then going, ah, actually my
- 7:04Speaker 4: fee is X, Like was that awkward or weird or
- 7:07Speaker 4: like that was I feel like most of us have
- 7:09Speaker 4: had that like a moment where you're like either I'm
- 7:11Speaker 4: under charging or I'm not charging.
- 7:14Speaker 3: What did that look like?
- 7:16Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 7:16Speaker 1: So I was like dabbling in the business, like one
- 7:20Speaker 1: foot in flirting with it, like doing this.
- 7:25Speaker 2: When somebody would approach me, thinking.
- 7:26Speaker 1: Oh wow, this is amazing. I don't know, you know,
- 7:29Speaker 1: is this what I'm really here to do? And still
- 7:32Speaker 1: holding onto a job because that was that's what you're
- 7:36Speaker 1: supposed to do, Like that was what I was.
- 7:38Speaker 2: Totally good thing. That's like the sensible thing when you're
- 7:42Speaker 2: a mom and makes a lot of sense.
- 7:44Speaker 3: I've done. You go get your full time employed job
- 7:46Speaker 3: because that is what the world expects of you.
- 7:49Speaker 1: And that fell apart in the most you know, blessed way. Yeah,
- 7:55Speaker 1: because I had no security blanket, and it was like, well,
- 7:59Speaker 1: here's this thing that I do. It's a gift and
- 8:02Speaker 1: people are asking about it and wanting it. So I
- 8:06Speaker 1: went in and I had no idea what I was doing.
- 8:10Speaker 1: And there was moments where I was taking gift batches
- 8:15Speaker 1: and you know, a few one hundred dollars here and
- 8:19Speaker 1: there from it, and more asking like oh so like
- 8:23Speaker 1: what do you think you know, just not understanding that
- 8:27Speaker 1: this is a and.
- 8:28Speaker 3: How do you charge?
- 8:29Speaker 4: Like that's really, And I'm not asking you how you charge,
- 8:32Speaker 4: but like, how do you work out what value you
- 8:34Speaker 4: placed on it? Because it's a service, it's not a product.
- 8:38Speaker 4: And then on top of that, it's a very meaning
- 8:41Speaker 4: for service that I think needs a lot of respect.
- 8:45Speaker 4: And to me, it's not like you know, a service
- 8:47Speaker 4: like an accountant doing your bookkeeping. No, like it's a
- 8:50Speaker 4: different like how did you go?
- 8:52Speaker 3: All right?
- 8:52Speaker 4: Well, I feel like this is the right price to charge.
- 8:55Speaker 4: Like was that a process of conversation or thought or
- 8:58Speaker 4: where did you land?
- 8:59Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 9:00Speaker 1: It was really hard because I didn't go to school,
- 9:02Speaker 1: you know, I didn't study for this. So it's it's
- 9:04Speaker 1: an ancient wisdom. It's culture and connection. So I'd had
- 9:10Speaker 1: a lot of people in my life that supported me,
- 9:12Speaker 1: you know, coaches at the time that were like, okay,
- 9:15Speaker 1: so this is a thing. And I had a lot
- 9:17Speaker 1: of other business women that were like this is you know,
- 9:21Speaker 1: they had a lot of ideas that they brain to me. Well,
- 9:25Speaker 1: I guess I wasn't seeing things the way they were
- 9:27Speaker 1: seeing it. So I think I just started with a
- 9:31Speaker 1: price and close my eyes and press some men.
- 9:37Speaker 3: Yeah, you feel a bit sick.
- 9:38Speaker 4: So when you first it, you're like, they're going to
- 9:40Speaker 4: think that's astronomical.
- 9:42Speaker 2: And I just I put myself out there.
- 9:44Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 9:45Speaker 1: Social media was a big, you know, part of my
- 9:48Speaker 1: growing of my business and the platform to what it
- 9:51Speaker 1: is today. So you know, I was I didn't even
- 9:54Speaker 1: have a website. I was just like put it out
- 9:56Speaker 1: there and say this is what you're off, meaning what
- 9:59Speaker 1: you're doing, and people wanted it.
- 10:03Speaker 3: So I was like, oh, well that's not how I
- 10:06Speaker 3: thought this would go.
- 10:08Speaker 1: Yeah, so then people started booking yeah, and I was like, oh,
- 10:14Speaker 1: this could be as easy and simple as that, you know.
- 10:17Speaker 1: So I had to go through a lot of limiting
- 10:21Speaker 1: beliefs and around making money and what that means and
- 10:25Speaker 1: what working for myself is and you know, the whole
- 10:29Speaker 1: new way of being and living and.
- 10:33Speaker 2: You know, business and mothering.
- 10:36Speaker 3: It's crazy, isn't it.
- 10:37Speaker 4: Do you like when you first started, did you feel
- 10:41Speaker 4: that businesses really understood the value of acknowledgments of country
- 10:47Speaker 4: or did you feel like you also had to educate
- 10:50Speaker 4: them to get them on board in addition to doing it.
- 10:53Speaker 4: Because I know that you probably started from people who
- 10:55Speaker 4: you know, there was already a pre existing demand, right
- 10:58Speaker 4: and people like we would love for you to do
- 11:00Speaker 4: this for us and you go, yep, no worries. But
- 11:02Speaker 4: to scale a business you need to have consistent engagements.
- 11:06Speaker 4: You need consistent clients. Was that an education piece or
- 11:10Speaker 4: did you find that? You know, how did that work?
- 11:12Speaker 1: Yeah, so when it comes to acknowledgments or a cultural
- 11:17Speaker 1: sentiment piece, when you're offering a service to a business,
- 11:20Speaker 1: it's not just itself, it's me as well, you know,
- 11:24Speaker 1: it's all weaved in as one. And yeah, there is
- 11:29Speaker 1: and there still will be an education piece.
- 11:33Speaker 2: And I think that is a part of it. That
- 11:36Speaker 2: is a part of what I get to do is
- 11:39Speaker 2: take people.
- 11:39Speaker 1: Along the journey with me and they learn, you know,
- 11:43Speaker 1: from the moment they inquire, you know, through the emails
- 11:47Speaker 1: or a conversation. And I understand that people are going
- 11:51Speaker 1: to get it wrong. You know, they're not going to
- 11:53Speaker 1: understand or have the full knowledge and scope of it.
- 11:56Speaker 2: And that's okay.
- 11:57Speaker 1: And I think maybe that's why they enjoy the process
- 12:03Speaker 1: of working with me, because you know, clients do learn
- 12:07Speaker 1: along the process. But yeah, we're learning, and we've still
- 12:10Speaker 1: got some more to learn. But yeah, I understood that
- 12:13Speaker 1: this is also a gift that I have is.
- 12:17Speaker 3: One thousand percent like, this is not just a service
- 12:19Speaker 3: you provide.
- 12:20Speaker 4: And for those of you who maybe you've heard the
- 12:22Speaker 4: beautiful acknowledgment at the start of our podcast, no doubt,
- 12:26Speaker 4: but it is only not even a tenth of the
- 12:30Speaker 4: energy that you put into you know, your live acknowledgments.
- 12:33Speaker 4: And we have been privileged enough at She's on the
- 12:36Speaker 4: Money to have you, you know, acknowledge at our live
- 12:39Speaker 4: events and oh my goodness, like the energy, Like there
- 12:43Speaker 4: have been times where I'm like, if we can't get Natasha,
- 12:45Speaker 4: I don't want it, Like I just I adore the
- 12:48Speaker 4: way that you do it. People like, and you've heard
- 12:51Speaker 4: this before, I know you have. But the way a
- 12:53Speaker 4: room connect, the way a room engages with you, and
- 12:57Speaker 4: the energy that carries on after in acknowledgement that you
- 13:00Speaker 4: perform is so above and beyond anything I've ever experienced.
- 13:05Speaker 4: And I think that it is you know, in corporate
- 13:08Speaker 4: there is definitely and it's not, you know, a secret.
- 13:11Speaker 4: We do know that people often see an acknowledgment of
- 13:14Speaker 4: country as a tick box exercise, and for me, that's
- 13:17Speaker 4: heartbreaking because it can be so much more like even
- 13:21Speaker 4: at the crux of it, like let's get rid of
- 13:24Speaker 4: all of the conversation about it. You are giving people
- 13:27Speaker 4: an opportunity to feel a little bit more grounded at
- 13:29Speaker 4: the start of a meeting. Wow, Like that is an
- 13:32Speaker 4: opportunity that we don't always get, but your approach makes
- 13:37Speaker 4: it so much more meaningful. What's the difference between I
- 13:41Speaker 4: guess a generic acknowledgment of country someone just.
- 13:44Speaker 3: Reads it off, and what you're doing and how it
- 13:49Speaker 3: should be done.
- 13:50Speaker 1: Well, it's an embodiment. We can all read off a
- 13:53Speaker 1: piece of paper, But do you actually connect to what
- 13:56Speaker 1: it is that you're saying?
- 13:58Speaker 2: Are you feeling it? Are you meaning?
- 14:00Speaker 1: Are you expressing it from a place that is beyond
- 14:05Speaker 1: the words? And I really encourage people to take a
- 14:12Speaker 1: different insight or a perspective. And what an acknowledgment of
- 14:14Speaker 1: country is. It's not just about acknowledging the place. It's
- 14:17Speaker 1: about acknowledging all that exists in the present moment.
- 14:23Speaker 2: And that's just the energy that I bring.
- 14:27Speaker 4: And yes, you literally do that in every facet of
- 14:30Speaker 4: your life. Like I swear, I don't know anybody who
- 14:33Speaker 4: has the same energy as you, like even you. Walking
- 14:35Speaker 4: into this podcast studio, I was like, God, Natasha is here.
- 14:38Speaker 4: I just know, like there's an energy shift, like and
- 14:42Speaker 4: I think that that's really your connection with the land,
- 14:45Speaker 4: the waterways, that everything you say it's an embodiment. I
- 14:50Speaker 4: can absolutely see that, and I just that's I think
- 14:53Speaker 4: what ends up making me so frustrated when I see
- 14:56Speaker 4: people just read it off a paper. I'm like, Oh,
- 14:58Speaker 4: you had such an opportunity there, Like that's that you
- 15:00Speaker 4: were already spending the time on it, Like you were
- 15:03Speaker 4: already like, oh, you just missed it.
- 15:06Speaker 1: Yeah, that's exactly what I see and feel. It is
- 15:10Speaker 1: a missed opportunity for the person who it's coming from.
- 15:13Speaker 1: And as an Indigenous person who's sat in the audience
- 15:17Speaker 1: when people have done it, you can feel the difference.
- 15:21Speaker 2: You can feel the difference of those who are.
- 15:24Speaker 1: Saying it to just do it and those who are
- 15:28Speaker 1: saying it to mean it and create an environment for
- 15:35Speaker 1: all people's whether it's First Nations or just all people
- 15:38Speaker 1: in the audience to understand that there's a presence here
- 15:42Speaker 1: and a grounding and an opportunity to connect to the
- 15:45Speaker 1: oldest living culture, which I think is a real blessing
- 15:49Speaker 1: and a privilege.
- 15:50Speaker 4: You know, and the fact that you want to share
- 15:53Speaker 4: that with us, Like how beautiful that that I just
- 15:58Speaker 4: I am obsessed with this idea that opportunity exists and
- 16:02Speaker 4: that after everything that happens, your culture is still so No.
- 16:06Speaker 4: We welcome you, we want to teach you, we want
- 16:08Speaker 4: to hold your hands and help you feel as connected
- 16:11Speaker 4: as you deserve to, but we don't deserve that.
- 16:14Speaker 1: I think it's my responsibility. I feel a responsibility to
- 16:18Speaker 1: my ancestors. I feel a responsibility to this country that
- 16:23Speaker 1: holds this richness that anybody that walks on this land
- 16:28Speaker 1: can feel the custodian ship of this place in their time,
- 16:34Speaker 1: and how that looks for us to care for it,
- 16:39Speaker 1: care for ourselves, our communities, our children, and the country
- 16:43Speaker 1: that has been supporting us. It's all of our responsibility.
- 16:47Speaker 1: And as a First Nations person, that's an advantage.
- 16:50Speaker 4: That I have one hundred percent. And it's just it's
- 16:53Speaker 4: so special that we get to experience that. But you
- 16:56Speaker 4: said before that you know, even when I'm sitting in
- 16:59Speaker 4: an order and someone reads off an acknowledgement of country
- 17:02Speaker 4: and they're just their heart isn't in it, and you
- 17:04Speaker 4: feel it, how does that feel as a First Nations person?
- 17:07Speaker 4: Is that really offensive? And you're like, Okay, cool. They
- 17:10Speaker 4: just don't get it, like, how do we Because from
- 17:13Speaker 4: my perspective and I've got no idea, I would assume
- 17:17Speaker 4: that's pretty disrespectful.
- 17:20Speaker 1: I'm not like all people, and I just speak from
- 17:23Speaker 1: your experience experience, and you know, my behalf is that
- 17:28Speaker 1: I want to hold their hand and I want to
- 17:31Speaker 1: go and connect them to country and to themselves and
- 17:36Speaker 1: allow them to feel what it feels like to acknowledge
- 17:39Speaker 1: from the heart and encourage them to go back out
- 17:42Speaker 1: and do it again.
- 17:43Speaker 2: Yeah, but yeah, it definitely feels like hmm.
- 17:48Speaker 1: The meaning of acknowledgment is to truly feel acknowledged, and
- 17:54Speaker 1: sometimes that's missed and it's.
- 17:56Speaker 3: Literally in the name it. It's right there, guys, right there.
- 18:01Speaker 4: Yeah, all right, Natasha, I hate to pull this to
- 18:03Speaker 4: a grinding hole, but let's go to a really quick
- 18:05Speaker 4: break and we'll dive back in on the flip side.
- 18:12Speaker 4: Let's shift a little bit back to business. This is beautiful,
- 18:14Speaker 4: but like we are talking business pricing obviously stupidly hard
- 18:20Speaker 4: for anybody, but you are offering something that people historically
- 18:25Speaker 4: haven't been used to paying for. This is something that
- 18:28Speaker 4: you know is now being embraced as it should be.
- 18:32Speaker 4: But not only have people not paid for it, they
- 18:34Speaker 4: haven't included it. How are you figuring out how to
- 18:37Speaker 4: have those conversations or you know when you do up
- 18:41Speaker 4: a quote and go great, this is my time, my energy,
- 18:43Speaker 4: my effort, this is what I am worth, full stop.
- 18:45Speaker 3: End of story.
- 18:46Speaker 1: Push back from that, Yeah, there was a lot of
- 18:48Speaker 1: interpersonal stuff that I needed to work on just on
- 18:51Speaker 1: a surface level.
- 18:52Speaker 2: But it's more than an acknowledgment. It's more than the
- 18:58Speaker 2: word itself. It is the energy. It is me as
- 19:04Speaker 2: a unique being and what I bring to all.
- 19:07Speaker 1: Of it and anybody else that doesn't acknowledgment, it's always
- 19:13Speaker 1: going to be different because the person is different. It's
- 19:16Speaker 1: coming from a different place and experience and embodiment.
- 19:21Speaker 2: So I've got to stay true to that.
- 19:23Speaker 1: There's times that I've you know, missed opportunities and lost
- 19:28Speaker 1: jobs and whatnot, but I've had to trust.
- 19:30Speaker 2: That this is something that I am honoring and understanding that.
- 19:37Speaker 1: Yes, it's a cultural you know, there's sacredness in that,
- 19:43Speaker 1: but there's also I'm here to hold true to the
- 19:49Speaker 1: value and the worth of my time and energy.
- 19:53Speaker 3: I am a mum, Yeah, and that's like first and
- 19:55Speaker 3: foremost yes, So I have.
- 19:58Speaker 2: To make sure that it flow in with my life.
- 20:01Speaker 1: And there's time I'm you know, spending away from my
- 20:05Speaker 1: other responsibilities, so I.
- 20:07Speaker 4: Need except for the sheese on the money even where
- 20:09Speaker 4: you got to bring your babies.
- 20:10Speaker 3: And I was like, this is the best.
- 20:13Speaker 1: Yeah, And that's been the you know, the beauty of
- 20:16Speaker 1: it that I've been able to show up authentically.
- 20:19Speaker 4: Not only do I get Natasha, I get two point
- 20:22Speaker 4: zero like, oh and there's so cute. So like, I
- 20:27Speaker 4: just feel like this space is so wildly misunderstood and
- 20:31Speaker 4: I would assume and this is just assumptions. This is
- 20:34Speaker 4: why we're having these conversations so that you can help
- 20:36Speaker 4: guide me as well. But there is often this expectation
- 20:40Speaker 4: that work that we do out of passion is not
- 20:44Speaker 4: for profit, especially women, and then piling on First Nations women,
- 20:49Speaker 4: they have it even harder. There's this expectation that they
- 20:53Speaker 4: would discount their rates or you know, really want to
- 20:55Speaker 4: work with a client. Have you had people question, ah,
- 21:00Speaker 4: why would I pay for this or what does that
- 21:03Speaker 4: look like? And how are you handling this pushback? Because
- 21:06Speaker 4: I know that you're saying, oh, be like there have
- 21:08Speaker 4: been times where I have lost you know, an opportunity
- 21:10Speaker 4: to work with a client. I don't think that any
- 21:12Speaker 4: opportunity that misses you was actually meant for you. Like
- 21:16Speaker 4: if some reason they came into your own box and
- 21:18Speaker 4: you said my price was my price and they said
- 21:21Speaker 4: it's too much, like that was not meant to be
- 21:23Speaker 4: to begin with. And I think letting it go graciously
- 21:25Speaker 4: is really helpful because it's making time and space for
- 21:29Speaker 4: those who do really value the work that you do.
- 21:32Speaker 4: But how do you have to and how do you
- 21:35Speaker 4: have the energy to consistently navigate those questions of people going, oh,
- 21:38Speaker 4: I didn't think i'd have to charge for this, or
- 21:41Speaker 4: you know, expecting it to be less because I even
- 21:46Speaker 4: working in the finance space, I go, these are my
- 21:48Speaker 4: workshop chargers who are, oh, well, actually.
- 21:51Speaker 3: Our budget is this, can you still do it?
- 21:52Speaker 4: And you're like, well, no, do you think that I
- 21:55Speaker 4: just pulled that number out of nowhere and I just
- 21:57Speaker 4: hoped i'd get that and oh yeah, no worries whatever
- 21:59Speaker 4: you've got in your back pocket or do like that's
- 22:01Speaker 4: less than ten percent of my fee, Like that is
- 22:04Speaker 4: at this point taking the mickey, Yeah, how are you
- 22:07Speaker 4: having those conversations with people who just maybe feel like,
- 22:12Speaker 4: why should I pay for this, Natasha.
- 22:16Speaker 2: Yeah, there's a few things.
- 22:18Speaker 1: One I feel like, as time goes on, I am
- 22:22Speaker 1: attracting more of the people who are aligned and see
- 22:24Speaker 1: the fit of the value and my purpose in it.
- 22:28Speaker 1: So I am saying, on the path of purpose and profit. Yeah,
- 22:35Speaker 1: you know, we're on the path of purpose and profit. Yeah,
- 22:39Speaker 1: purpose and profit. You know, it's been hard. I come
- 22:43Speaker 1: from a community who, you know, we've always just given. Yeah,
- 22:49Speaker 1: And I come from a family that we've just always
- 22:52Speaker 1: just given. And I remember realizing that what do I
- 22:57Speaker 1: give best is myself myself. So I've had to understand
- 23:03Speaker 1: that giving myself, I can put a price to that.
- 23:07Speaker 1: So that makes things work, because let's be real, we
- 23:12Speaker 1: need money.
- 23:13Speaker 4: GIF cards don't actually pay your bills. It's a weird flex,
- 23:16Speaker 4: but they just don't. And at least give me, like
- 23:18Speaker 4: a beauty, just give me something you actually want as well. Yeah, like,
- 23:23Speaker 4: give me something that's helpful at least. And you said before,
- 23:27Speaker 4: you know, let me put a price on myself. And
- 23:31Speaker 4: there was always a price. It just wasn't financial. You
- 23:34Speaker 4: were already paying in your time and your energy and
- 23:36Speaker 4: your effort. And you know, I would imagine that these things,
- 23:41Speaker 4: they nourish you, they get you know, you in the mood.
- 23:43Speaker 4: But you're still going to go home having performed a
- 23:46Speaker 4: very physical task. You're going to be tired. You did
- 23:49Speaker 4: spend time away from your family. Like, yes, you're putting
- 23:52Speaker 4: a financial price tag on that today, but hystorically, you've
- 23:57Speaker 4: always been paying for it, and now it's other people's
- 24:00Speaker 4: turn to pay for it.
- 24:01Speaker 2: That's right.
- 24:01Speaker 1: And I was paying more of a price than anybody
- 24:04Speaker 1: else was paying me. And that's just how I.
- 24:08Speaker 2: Was going home. I was burnt, I was spent.
- 24:11Speaker 1: I would have headaches, and I couldn't be present in
- 24:14Speaker 1: my life for the people who I, you know, loved
- 24:18Speaker 1: and cherished the most. And that was the biggest price.
- 24:21Speaker 1: So I said, all right, if I'm going to do this,
- 24:24Speaker 1: I'm going to play baby. Yeah, put up the price,
- 24:28Speaker 1: and if people meet me, then amazing. And if they don't,
- 24:31Speaker 1: hopefully I can work with them again in the future
- 24:34Speaker 1: when they come back, and they can.
- 24:35Speaker 3: Yeah, one hundred percent. So talk to me about work
- 24:38Speaker 3: life balance. You have two beautiful boys and you have
- 24:41Speaker 3: a mini on the way, you're gonna be or you're
- 24:43Speaker 3: a mom of three?
- 24:44Speaker 2: Yeah, three that's a full car.
- 24:46Speaker 4: Oh yeah, exactly, like you were going to have to
- 24:49Speaker 4: go to a seven seater at some point, babe, Like
- 24:51Speaker 4: I don't know, I wouldn't be mad. And as somebody
- 24:54Speaker 4: who now has a one year old, I get it,
- 24:56Speaker 4: like I'm going to need some more babies like I
- 24:59Speaker 4: adore it. But how are you managing work life balance?
- 25:02Speaker 4: Because personally I'm finding it really challenging, Like I want
- 25:05Speaker 4: to spend so much more time with Harvey, like I
- 25:08Speaker 4: just obsessed with him. Yeah, when he falls asleep, I'm
- 25:11Speaker 4: watching videos of him that I took that day on
- 25:13Speaker 4: my phone, Like I never thought i'd be that, mum, Natasha,
- 25:16Speaker 4: but we hear. So how are you managing work life balance?
- 25:20Speaker 3: What does that look like?
- 25:21Speaker 1: I'm not sure if I'm managing of it. See I
- 25:24Speaker 1: don't believe in it for me or like it just
- 25:27Speaker 1: manages itself. Yeah, and I've got a ten year old
- 25:31Speaker 1: and a two year old, so you know, there's vast
- 25:35Speaker 1: differences in demand.
- 25:36Speaker 3: There's a lot of different needs.
- 25:37Speaker 4: You can lump them in and be like you guys
- 25:39Speaker 4: are both going to enjoy duplo because your ten year
- 25:41Speaker 4: old's going to be.
- 25:42Speaker 1: Like, Mum, what the hell yeah, Yeah, he's more like
- 25:45Speaker 1: a teenager than anything. So they have seen me since
- 25:49Speaker 1: they were babies doing what I do, and they know
- 25:53Speaker 1: it and they respect it, and they trust mommy to
- 25:59Speaker 1: do what I'm doing because they've seen what it does.
- 26:02Speaker 2: So I have a great family and partner and support network.
- 26:08Speaker 2: Does that mean it's easy. Absolutely not.
- 26:11Speaker 1: I have had moments where I've you know, just wanted
- 26:15Speaker 1: to curl open a ball, and.
- 26:17Speaker 3: You call me and I will deal with it. You
- 26:20Speaker 3: call me. Anybody pushing back in your emails, I write
- 26:23Speaker 3: a nasty one.
- 26:24Speaker 1: Oh. And I also have, you know, been able to
- 26:28Speaker 1: grow in my business with people in a team, and
- 26:33Speaker 1: I have my wing woman who just comes in and
- 26:37Speaker 1: helps me out. So having people in your network, whether
- 26:41Speaker 1: it's somebody that works for you or just some one
- 26:45Speaker 1: that you can call and say, hey, I need this,
- 26:50Speaker 1: or can I ask you this, or can I tell
- 26:53Speaker 1: you this and this, because what you're feeling is real
- 26:59Speaker 1: and life's always not gonna.
- 27:01Speaker 2: Look like pretty Instagram reels.
- 27:03Speaker 4: Oh my goodness, But we're so good at making them
- 27:06Speaker 4: and lulling well into this false belief that that's my
- 27:08Speaker 4: entire life, right, And I think that that's the reality
- 27:12Speaker 4: of it. Have you found a really beautiful network of
- 27:14Speaker 4: people to support you in that way?
- 27:16Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 27:16Speaker 1: I have in many facets physically, emotionally, spiritually, culturally, financially, family.
- 27:23Speaker 3: And has that shifted and changed and grown and stretched
- 27:27Speaker 3: and shrunk over time.
- 27:29Speaker 1: As I've changed and evolved and grown into the person
- 27:33Speaker 1: that I want to be, people in my circle change.
- 27:37Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 27:37Speaker 4: It's wild, isn't it any People that you thought were
- 27:40Speaker 4: going to be around forever?
- 27:42Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 27:42Speaker 4: Wow, we not not you just haven't disappeared, but like
- 27:47Speaker 4: you just don't align with anything I stand for anymore.
- 27:50Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 27:51Speaker 1: And I think when you are in business, especially as
- 27:55Speaker 1: a woman, it can feel lonely.
- 27:57Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 27:57Speaker 1: You know, and I've felt those moments in my life
- 28:00Speaker 1: throughout ten years of trying to figure this out. But
- 28:05Speaker 1: it's trusting your conviction and your purpose more than the
- 28:10Speaker 1: challenge that you face in the moment.
- 28:12Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 28:13Speaker 1: And people will show up. People will show up when
- 28:17Speaker 1: sometimes you're not even looking or expecting it.
- 28:20Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 28:20Speaker 4: I love that you mentioned before that your kids see
- 28:24Speaker 4: respect what you do, Like they know they trust mom
- 28:27Speaker 4: to go and do her work. What are you hoping
- 28:29Speaker 4: that they take away from this? Like you mentioned before,
- 28:33Speaker 4: like vie. I didn't go to school to learn this stuff,
- 28:36Speaker 4: but like they're getting an education by watching mum, like
- 28:39Speaker 4: start a business, like a mom can do it. Like,
- 28:41Speaker 4: I feel like you're teaching them so much. But what
- 28:43Speaker 4: are your hopes for what they take away from watching
- 28:46Speaker 4: you do this?
- 28:47Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 28:49Speaker 2: The legacy that I want to leave is.
- 28:54Speaker 1: The wealth and knowledge instilled in my children that they
- 28:58Speaker 1: can thrive in both ways eld Yeah, and that being
- 29:02Speaker 1: culture and that being in the world of business and
- 29:08Speaker 1: making a life for themselves in however that fits, and
- 29:12Speaker 1: that they don't have to fit into any boxes. Yeah.
- 29:15Speaker 1: And if they want to make a pathway of sharing
- 29:19Speaker 1: their culture and their connection, they can do so. And
- 29:22Speaker 1: if they don't, then they get to choose. So fine,
- 29:24Speaker 1: they've got the choice.
- 29:25Speaker 2: They get to choose, and the choice is their's.
- 29:28Speaker 3: I love that so much.
- 29:30Speaker 4: Talk to me, you said before, you know, it's not
- 29:32Speaker 4: all pretty Instagram reels? What's the day in the life
- 29:35Speaker 4: actually look like.
- 29:38Speaker 3: You're like, I don't really know.
- 29:40Speaker 4: I'm the same, Like, what day do you want? Because
- 29:43Speaker 4: Wednesday I'm in a studio all day. Thursday, who knows
- 29:47Speaker 4: what I'm up to?
- 29:48Speaker 1: Like, I don't even know for me, I try and
- 29:52Speaker 1: have my mornings and nighttime routines very the same love
- 29:58Speaker 1: that I was a free spe We're at a gypsy
- 30:01Speaker 1: that would just do anything and anything wherever it would
- 30:03Speaker 1: call me. I would be, you know, at any different place,
- 30:08Speaker 1: at any different day. But these days I'm grounded. I'm
- 30:13Speaker 1: committed to my practice that connects me to my.
- 30:16Speaker 2: Body holy like wholeheartedly mind, body and spirit.
- 30:21Speaker 1: So I meditate in the morning, and my children usually
- 30:23Speaker 1: gravitate towards me, and then once I know that the present,
- 30:28Speaker 1: it's like mum mode until the children are settled and
- 30:32Speaker 1: eating and quiet, and then I go into work mode.
- 30:36Speaker 1: And workdays. Each day are different because the demands are different.
- 30:41Speaker 1: But you know, I'm still in the emails, you know,
- 30:46Speaker 1: so still.
- 30:47Speaker 2: Very humbled by the work that I get to do.
- 30:49Speaker 1: And then some days I look glamorous and I'm on
- 30:52Speaker 1: stage in front of thousands of people.
- 30:54Speaker 3: That's very cool.
- 30:55Speaker 4: But then other times you're just meditating in your loungdream
- 30:57Speaker 4: and your kids climbing all over.
- 30:58Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 30:59Speaker 2: Yeah, And I love that there's hair's mess and.
- 31:03Speaker 4: Look, honestly, I don't trust people who have it together
- 31:05Speaker 4: all the time. Oh have you got perfect hair? All
- 31:07Speaker 4: the time, Like I know that my photos online make
- 31:09Speaker 4: me look like that I do not. I look like
- 31:11Speaker 4: I have a rat snares most of the time. And
- 31:13Speaker 4: you know what, that's why you can trust me. Yeah, yeah,
- 31:16Speaker 4: that's why talk to me about I feel like, you know,
- 31:19Speaker 4: throughout your journey, there would have been things that you
- 31:22Speaker 4: know stressed you out in the early days. Is there
- 31:25Speaker 4: something looking back you're like, oh, my goodness, b I
- 31:27Speaker 4: was so stressed about this, and now I look back,
- 31:29Speaker 4: it didn't even master Like, yeah, have you had those
- 31:32Speaker 4: moments where you're like, I don't know why I gave
- 31:34Speaker 4: that so much energy?
- 31:35Speaker 3: It literally means nothing today.
- 31:37Speaker 2: Yeah, two big things stand out for me. One pricing.
- 31:42Speaker 1: Yeah, I was like, if I do this, no one's
- 31:46Speaker 1: gonna like me and want to buy from me and
- 31:49Speaker 1: think that I'm you know, all these things that I'd
- 31:52Speaker 1: had internalized of my own judgments right to myself and
- 31:57Speaker 1: thinking that I couldn't do it and it wasn't possible.
- 32:00Speaker 1: But as soon as you do it and somebody purchases
- 32:04Speaker 1: or you know, books and should I be charging more?
- 32:08Speaker 1: You know, having this mini panic attack and then you know,
- 32:11Speaker 1: as soon as you get there, everything just feels easy,
- 32:16Speaker 1: and you know, I've had moments where I'm like, can
- 32:19Speaker 1: this really be my life?
- 32:21Speaker 3: Is this real life? Is this what I get to do?
- 32:24Speaker 1: This?
- 32:24Speaker 2: And a great yeah?
- 32:26Speaker 1: So and I get to go to fancy fun events
- 32:29Speaker 1: and connect you would, yeah people, and I'm just like,
- 32:33Speaker 1: this is my life. And one time, you know, I've
- 32:35Speaker 1: had my partner there with me, and you know it
- 32:39Speaker 1: is it has been a family affair sometimes that we've had,
- 32:42Speaker 1: you know, my parents involved, and it's just like I
- 32:46Speaker 1: get to spend time with my family and make money
- 32:49Speaker 1: and be of service and have impact.
- 32:51Speaker 3: So that's a good deal.
- 32:53Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm like, sign me up for that. I want
- 32:55Speaker 2: more of that. So that was one and then the
- 32:58Speaker 2: other one was social media.
- 33:00Speaker 3: Okay, talk to me about social media.
- 33:03Speaker 1: Social media is a platform where you're out there for
- 33:09Speaker 1: people to see you and hear you and or open
- 33:12Speaker 1: to their judgments and opinions.
- 33:15Speaker 2: And I remember being really afraid of it wasn't being
- 33:21Speaker 2: out there, but it was being myself. Okay out there.
- 33:25Speaker 4: You're like, you can put pictures in me everywhere, but
- 33:27Speaker 4: like showing you who I really am. And that's a difference.
- 33:29Speaker 1: I can pick the best one, you know, the one
- 33:32Speaker 1: that looks the most prettiest. It be so good at that, right, Yeah,
- 33:35Speaker 1: you know the photoshopping or whatever that looked like back then.
- 33:38Speaker 1: But now I'm like, let's just in real life showing
- 33:44Speaker 1: up because the reactions and responses that I get from
- 33:49Speaker 1: particularly women and mothers, they're just like I needed that, Yes,
- 33:56Speaker 1: I needed to hear that, and I needed to see
- 33:59Speaker 1: you show up in that because that's what's going on
- 34:02Speaker 1: for me too, and the connections that I've made from
- 34:06Speaker 1: showing up authentically as myself, I'm now addicted to it.
- 34:11Speaker 3: Yeah, Yeah, and it just gets better and better.
- 34:13Speaker 2: Yeah, it does.
- 34:14Speaker 4: Like it's wild how much emphasis we put on the
- 34:18Speaker 4: value of someone's opinion that's an individual we'd never want
- 34:23Speaker 4: to trade places with. Yeah, and you're like, hold on,
- 34:26Speaker 4: why am I valuing that opinion at all? When I
- 34:29Speaker 4: don't want to be anything like them? Like why am
- 34:31Speaker 4: I taking feedback from a place that doesn't get me?
- 34:35Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 34:35Speaker 4: And so I think that's very hard and it's genuinely
- 34:38Speaker 4: still something that I struggle with, like im and I
- 34:41Speaker 4: think as you grow, like your business grows and changes
- 34:44Speaker 4: and things ebb and flow, I go through periods of
- 34:47Speaker 4: being really confident and putting lots of content out and
- 34:50Speaker 4: then you're like, oh, this is actually really big and
- 34:53Speaker 4: you kind of like feel yourself pulling back and you
- 34:55Speaker 4: have to like do some more inner ware and be like, well,
- 34:57Speaker 4: why am I feeling this way? And it might be
- 34:59Speaker 4: because it's become overwhelming again, or maybe you did get
- 35:02Speaker 4: some negative feedback and you took it on board that
- 35:06Speaker 4: you needed to zoom.
- 35:06Speaker 3: Out and go.
- 35:07Speaker 4: Actually that was so not valid, Like that was you know,
- 35:12Speaker 4: I like to look at all pieces of feedback and go,
- 35:14Speaker 4: you know, can I learn something from this? Because you know,
- 35:17Speaker 4: the loudest voices they might not be correct, but consistency
- 35:21Speaker 4: is what I look for. Yeah, so I think that,
- 35:24Speaker 4: you know, if someone's consistently saying X or Y, I'm like, okay, cool,
- 35:27Speaker 4: Like where's this coming from?
- 35:29Speaker 3: Is this something that I could learn from?
- 35:30Speaker 1: Grow from?
- 35:31Speaker 3: Change and let's implement that.
- 35:34Speaker 4: And that can be hard in itself, because like we
- 35:36Speaker 4: don't like being told we're wrong, we don't like feeling
- 35:38Speaker 4: like we're doing the wrong thing or like we do
- 35:41Speaker 4: need to change, but that can be liberating in itself,
- 35:44Speaker 4: and I just I resonate so much with that because
- 35:47Speaker 4: it's just so relevant.
- 35:49Speaker 1: Yeah, And the as time goes on, the more I've
- 35:56Speaker 1: felt confident in who it is that i am. And
- 36:00Speaker 1: there's many parts of me. Yeah, I play many roles,
- 36:04Speaker 1: you know, and Natasha just gets to be all of
- 36:09Speaker 1: them at any given moment. But there's been times, especially culturally,
- 36:13Speaker 1: you know, there's cultural protocols and you know, different areas
- 36:17Speaker 1: and mobs do different things, and I'm learning.
- 36:21Speaker 2: I am no expert, no.
- 36:23Speaker 1: Guru in this this life and field and you know,
- 36:28Speaker 1: subject of culture by all means. So yeah, I've had
- 36:32Speaker 1: moments where people have come to me, checked me, and
- 36:37Speaker 1: I always go back to my family, and you know,
- 36:39Speaker 1: there's go.
- 36:40Speaker 2: Back to yourself.
- 36:42Speaker 3: You can go back. So I heard this and.
- 36:46Speaker 1: Always open with a curious mind and an open heart,
- 36:49Speaker 1: like I said, to learn and receive, you know, feedback
- 36:52Speaker 1: and take from that what works. And also if you
- 36:57Speaker 1: know who you are and where you come from, like
- 37:01Speaker 1: that's a really good place to be and start and
- 37:04Speaker 1: to always go back to whenever you need.
- 37:06Speaker 4: Yeah, and I think it can be overwhelming, especially if
- 37:09Speaker 4: you're a woman in business like you just you're already
- 37:12Speaker 4: putting yourself out there. That feels really unnatural. But I
- 37:15Speaker 4: think I make peace with the fact that I know
- 37:19Speaker 4: inherently I'm good, I am kind. Everything I'm doing is
- 37:23Speaker 4: coming from a place of love, and at the end
- 37:25Speaker 4: of the day, yes, I'm not going to be a
- 37:27Speaker 4: correct one hundred percent of the time. In fact, if
- 37:29Speaker 4: I think I know everything, I need to get out
- 37:31Speaker 4: of the game, because like this game is always moving. Yeah,
- 37:34Speaker 4: And so I think if I'm always doing it with
- 37:37Speaker 4: the right intentions, that's always going to ultimately shine through.
- 37:40Speaker 2: That's right.
- 37:41Speaker 3: And I think that that really helps me go.
- 37:43Speaker 4: No, even if I'm turning up and I say something
- 37:45Speaker 4: silly online or do this or do that, like go
- 37:48Speaker 4: back to my roots. You know that inherently I'm operating
- 37:51Speaker 4: in good faith, And I think, to me, that's the
- 37:54Speaker 4: most important thing.
- 37:56Speaker 3: Talk to me. I know that I'm running out of
- 37:57Speaker 3: time with you, and I hate that.
- 37:59Speaker 2: Talk to me about what you.
- 38:00Speaker 4: Think is the most important skill that you have that
- 38:04Speaker 4: has led to success in your business.
- 38:07Speaker 2: Adaptability.
- 38:08Speaker 3: Oh, I love that she's so quick at that response.
- 38:11Speaker 3: She's adaptable.
- 38:14Speaker 1: Like you said, there's always things changing, moving, evolving. Things
- 38:21Speaker 1: become relevant and irrelevant very quickly. In this time, we're
- 38:26Speaker 1: just learning to be adaptable. Assessing the moment. Every room
- 38:32Speaker 1: that I step in to do what I do is different,
- 38:35Speaker 1: even if there are a bunch of women in each room.
- 38:38Speaker 3: Yeah, it's each different.
- 38:39Speaker 2: Woman has an energy, you know, like that.
- 38:43Speaker 1: You're doing the event for every event's different. So just
- 38:46Speaker 1: being able to adapt the energy to that has been
- 38:49Speaker 1: a skill that I've grown over time. And I love
- 38:51Speaker 1: that because it's so relevant.
- 38:52Speaker 4: But it's also so hard to hone in on, Like
- 38:56Speaker 4: that is not something that is easy, and like, as
- 38:59Speaker 4: somebody who hates change, like, I need to learn more
- 39:02Speaker 4: from you about being more adaptable because that's not usually
- 39:06Speaker 4: for me. Now for First Nations women and people who
- 39:10Speaker 4: are listening to this and they're like, my goodness, like
- 39:12Speaker 4: I'd love to do what Natasha does. What advice do
- 39:16Speaker 4: you have for them? Because obviously you're not going to
- 39:18Speaker 4: get into this space if you don't have that background.
- 39:21Speaker 4: But then also I feel like I speak to so
- 39:24Speaker 4: many beautiful people in our community who are First Nations women,
- 39:27Speaker 4: and they, you know, they just don't have the confidence
- 39:29Speaker 4: they deserve to have, Like you are so powerful and
- 39:32Speaker 4: so beautiful and if you just stepped out, like you
- 39:36Speaker 4: could be exactly who you say you want to be.
- 39:39Speaker 2: Yeah, I see this, see this in my family and
- 39:42Speaker 2: my community.
- 39:44Speaker 1: There are sisters out there that have got it, that
- 39:47Speaker 1: have got magic. You know, we call that, you know,
- 39:49Speaker 1: black magic. You've got a gift, You've got something to give,
- 39:52Speaker 1: and each person does.
- 39:56Speaker 2: But to my sisters, I would.
- 39:59Speaker 1: Just say, follow the calling, trust yourself. You're here for
- 40:05Speaker 1: a purpose and a greater purpose at that that we
- 40:09Speaker 1: come from sixty five thousand plus years of lineage, ancestry
- 40:14Speaker 1: and warriors. And if you feel a calling to share that,
- 40:21Speaker 1: then find women who are already doing it, get connected,
- 40:25Speaker 1: get them a part of your network. And sometimes we
- 40:30Speaker 1: just have to like copy and paste and then put
- 40:32Speaker 1: our own essence into it, you know.
- 40:35Speaker 2: Like follow what works.
- 40:37Speaker 3: I say, you don't need to reinvent the wheel.
- 40:39Speaker 2: No, like jump on the things that are.
- 40:42Speaker 1: Already moving and working and put your own self, story,
- 40:48Speaker 1: essence and flavor into it because no one is you,
- 40:52Speaker 1: and you're going to bring something different to every room
- 40:56Speaker 1: and experience.
- 40:57Speaker 2: I love that that is.
- 40:58Speaker 3: Genuinely so powerful.
- 41:00Speaker 4: Feel like this whole conversation has felt like people who listen,
- 41:03Speaker 4: I feel like they're just going to feel your energy.
- 41:05Speaker 4: They're going to feel grounded, they're going to feel like
- 41:07Speaker 4: this was really really powerful for them. And I feel
- 41:10Speaker 4: like we've covered so much. We've discussed, you know, the
- 41:12Speaker 4: different challenges you've faced in your business. We've talked about pricing.
- 41:15Speaker 4: We've talked about, you know, how to get people around
- 41:18Speaker 4: when it comes to acknowledgments of country and making sure
- 41:21Speaker 4: that you are actually acknowledging the country. We've talked about,
- 41:25Speaker 4: I guess the financial realities of like not getting paid
- 41:28Speaker 4: and potentially losing clients because we're just going to put
- 41:32Speaker 4: some boundaries in place, and that's so important. But I
- 41:35Speaker 4: think you and I can both agree the more you
- 41:37Speaker 4: put those boundaries in place, the more the right clients
- 41:40Speaker 4: find you. That's right, Like it's crazy you say no
- 41:42Speaker 4: to people and you're like, oh my goodness, am I
- 41:44Speaker 4: doing the right thing? And then around the corner there
- 41:46Speaker 4: is another client that is bigger and better and exactly
- 41:49Speaker 4: what you were looking for. Like, it's crazy how that works.
- 41:54Speaker 4: And I think people often don't understand the value and
- 41:58Speaker 4: the reality of running business and also being a mum.
- 42:01Speaker 4: I am learning real quick. You have been doing this
- 42:04Speaker 4: for ten years, and I just I'm so grateful to
- 42:07Speaker 4: have you share your story. With our community, but also
- 42:10Speaker 4: kind of just a little bit of a mentor today.
- 42:12Speaker 4: So I'm grateful for that.
- 42:13Speaker 3: Thank you so much.
- 42:15Speaker 4: Oh, thank you for having me of course, my goodness,
- 42:18Speaker 4: I feel like that is a perfect place to end, Natasha.
- 42:21Speaker 4: I adore this, and I feel like, honestly one of
- 42:24Speaker 4: the most powerful Business Bible episodes I've ever done. But
- 42:27Speaker 4: for anyone who's listening, thinking, holy moly, this woman does
- 42:31Speaker 4: have that energy, she does have that vibe. I need
- 42:33Speaker 4: more of her in my life. Where can I find
- 42:36Speaker 4: the Queen of Acknowledgments?
- 42:37Speaker 1: You can find Queen of Acknowledgments on Instagram, as the
- 42:41Speaker 1: name suggests, Queen Acknowledgments, or on my website, and I
- 42:45Speaker 1: look forward to.
- 42:46Speaker 3: All the in any of our Yeah, she's right there, guys.
- 42:51Speaker 1: Or you might find me on stage at an event
- 42:54Speaker 1: you find yourself.
- 42:55Speaker 2: If you should be so lucky, Yasha, please come and
- 42:58Speaker 2: say hello, because I'd love to give this piece.
- 43:01Speaker 3: Oh my goodness.
- 43:02Speaker 4: All right, well, I'm going to link literally everything in
- 43:04Speaker 4: the show notes. You're in all the other show notes
- 43:06Speaker 4: as well. This has been a really inspiring conversation, and
