Hello, and welcome to Soul Elevation: Guiding Your Ascension to New Heights. I'm your host Cara Goodwin, and I am so excited to be here with you today on Monday, July 13th, 2026. We're gonna be talking today about soul purpose, because this is one of the most important things that's happening in our lives, and it's such a big part of our lives that we don't always take the time to, like, zoom out. We can get so caught up in the minutiae of our to-do la- tasks and what just has to get done today that we can live our days day after day only focused on that, the details and the minutiae, never really stepping back and thinking about,
• 1:00
am I living my purpose? Am I living in accordance with my gifts and why my ch- soul chose to be here? So this is critical. This is really, really critical to your life, to your whole life experience, and it can be this hidden thing that we don't take the time to consider. And so I'm just gonna be referencing my, my little handwritten notes here. So, um- Sometimes we might feel in our lives a discontentment or a malaise or a boredom where we just find ourselves kind of walking through life and we're not energized by anything. We're just ticking the boxes. We're kind of waiting for the weekend to come or we're waiting for vacation, and we're
• 2:00
not really getting any real excitement or fulfillment from our life experience. And if you're noticing that, pay attention because we, we can very easily... And I think most people, if they feel that way, they try to remedy it with, uh, some sort of Band-Aid. Like, I need to purchase something new that's gonna make me feel excited. If I get some- something new and shiny, then it will distract me from feeling this way. Or I need to, um, you know, become interested in some... I need to, you know, try to find a relationship or, um, you know, we might start sniffing around in other areas of our lives to try to bring us into a deeper sense of excitement or fulfillment when really that might be our soul saying to us that something needs to be

corrected. We are off track. We're, we're missing the mark of why we came here. And this is so critical, this is so important because you came here as a soul to have a human experience. First and foremost, you are spirit. You are a soul. You are an eternal energy, an int- an eternal intelligence that has come in and embodied a human being, a human body to fulfill a soul purpose. And so You may wonder, maybe you don't think you have a purpose. Maybe you think that that's for other people. Does everybody have a soul purpose? And I would say absolutely. Everybody who came here on this planet has a purpose. They came here as a soul intentionally to
• 4:00
have some sort of purpose. And in order to fulfill that purpose, you have been given gifts, you have been given talents, you have been given interests, and those things all go together. So there is this intelligent design to your life, and you were a part of that intelligent design before you came here in your body. And those interests and the things that you are good at, that you are gifted at, come together. Those are all part of your purpose. You were... That's... I mean, isn't that a brilliant design, that the things that you enjoy and that give you pleasure and enjoyment are part of what you came here to do? Wouldn't that be so smart? That those would be key indicators of how you can spend your time in order to fulfill your purpose. But

what happens is that through our The way that we have organized human society, we have institutionalized a lot of our experience. So we've institutionalized, for example, schooling. And the schooling, the way that it's set up, and it has been set up this way for decades now, it really emphasizes, um, like the rational brain, the, uh, the linear thinking, the, the ability to memorize what we're told, to memorize what we're presented as facts. And so that, and then we have to, in our ability to, um, what's the word I'm looking for? To recall those facts. If you think about it, that's what grades are. You're told something, and then you spit it back out, and your teacher tells you how well you remembered it and how well you
• 6:00
can communicate what you've remembered. You're not really tho- really taught critical thinking and learning if what you're being told, like how to question it. We're not told that. We are... This institutionalized learning is creating a society of people who are heavily, um, siphoned, or what's the word I'm looking for? Heavily funneled into linear thinking, linear jobs, and it's all feeding part of a bigger machine. And it's not really nurturing what your talents, your gifts, your interests are, and taking those into a profession. Unless you really are lit up by math, and some people are lit up by the sciences or lit up by, um, you know, things that you can find easily in
• 7:00
institutionalized learning. You absolutely, if those things really set you alight, then that's great. Then you, you are here to do that. But for a lot of people, they, that's, you know, they kinda settle for what they think is the responsible thing to do so that you can fit into this machine and get a... So it's easy for you to get a job. I know that that was how I approached it. When I was in university years and years and years ago, um, I Didn't, you know, I went into computers, into IT, like computer coding, not because I liked it, not because it was interesting to me in any way, but because this was the late '90s, there was this huge technology boom, IT boom, and I knew that there was security. And so I took the secure route, and I ended up with six
• 8:00
offers, six professional offers coming out of business school. I had my pick of the litter in terms of what, what I wanted to do in that little niche. And, you know, that was a blessing in its way, um, in terms of security. But it wasn't something that fed my soul by any stretch of the imagination. I had a, a really hard time with that, going from institutionalized learning, which I actually loved. I loved college so much. Um, but then I went into cor- the corporate setting and just liv- working in a cubicle under fluorescent lights and in that structured, like, I had to be there from this time to that time. I really hated it. And, um, and it didn't, you know, I, I didn't feel that I was fulfilling. You know, it didn't feel fulfilling to me. It was just something that I
• 9:00
did because I felt that I had to. And so I think that that's really common, and we don't necessarily step back and think, "Wow, I hate what I'm doing all day long. I hate this job that I've gotten myself into." But then we get into that security, and it can be really hard to think, like, "Wait, I don't have to spend my days like this. I can go and be retrained in something that I actually am interested in, or I can, you know, take this and do something different with it." Um, so if you are feeling those, that way, that can be your soul talking to you and telling you, you aren't-- this is not what you're here for. So what's interesting is that... So that's how you know if you're, if you're living your purpose. If you're feeling that discon- c- discontentment,
• 10:00
and you're not feeling fulfilled, and you're, you resent the way that you have to spend your time, that can be a big, big signal that you're not where you're meant to be. And there are other options. You may have to get creative. You may have to be retrained. You may have to lose some security. But if you really fall into what it is you're meant to do, you will have the backing of the universe, and things will come together in a creative way that you may not be able to recognize yet. So- There, it's, what is interesting is if you ever get some sort of reading about yourself, so this can be through astrology. You could have somebody who reads your natal chart. I just last night re-watched a handwrite- a hand print analysis that I had done, like, three to four years ago, it was like three and a half years ago, with somebody named Richard Unger. And you send your
• 11:00
hand print in. You, you, like, take an ink, um, an inking of your hand, and you press it onto this paper, and you send it to Richard, and he will analyze your hand. And, um, so that's another way. And he will get into what you're here for, what is your archetype, what is, what, what fulfills you, what... You know, and he is... It's so fascinating because he is spot on. You can do the same thing with nu- numerology, which uses your date of birth, but also, like, the, your name. It takes your name, and it get, it, there's a code within your name. Um, there are so many different modalities that take you the way that you are, whether it's your hand print, whether it's your date, your birth date, what... People can do it through your eyes, through your face, the way that your, um, your... I don't know that one very well, but
• 12:00
you can, people can read your face and know what's wrong with your health, and I think that they can also get insights into your personality and, and maybe your purpose and things like that. But what's interesting is over the years I have had so many different readings like this, and I mean not just since my awakening like 10 plus years ago, I mean from like over the decades. Because I've always been interested enough that I would have like a numerology reading or, or whatever even though I wasn't like in the spiritual, like really developing myself spiritually yet. But they always come back to the same archetype, to the same purpose, to the same things that light me up, the same interests that I have. So when I was watching yesterday my, the replay of my hand print analysis, it... I was just
• 13:00
floored, like all over again, by how accurate this was and how it reemphasized what my mission and my purpose is, and some of the, um, challenges that I experience through that. And then I, then I read something that I had recently had done, which was a multidimensional field scan by Dr. Carol Talbot. Her episode is gonna come out in a couple of weeks, and this multidimensional field scan w- really reinforced what my hand print analysis had said. I mean, they were, they were so complementary, and that was done three and a half years later. Of course, they did not know each other, did not know what the other had been re- reporting. I've had numerology, uh, the one that I'm thinking of, the numerology reading that I had was, gosh, probably 15 years ago. I had not had my spiritual awakening yet, and that was talking
• 14:00
about how I am going to be, um, a spiritual teacher, and I'm gonna be like leading and communicating and all of these things that again show up in my hand print analysis, show up in my field scan, show up in different astrology things with people who don't know me. And at that time when I had that numerology one, I was in the corporate world, and I was a mother of young children, and it really... I... Spirituality, like I wasn't studying spirituality. I wasn't following any like spiritual things. I would sometimes read books on like past lives and things like that, but it was like I thought this woman was, had re- had given me the wrong reading because it was so unrelatable. It was... It, it signified an internal interest, but it didn't signify anything that I was doing within my own life. Any itches that I was scratching in my own life,
• 15:00
but then, again, I was working in a corporate job that I did not feel fulfilled in. I was very successful in that job, but I did not feel any sense of fulfillment in it. So it kind of goes back to that purpose. So this numerology, she was telling me what my purpose was, what my soul purpose was, what my mission was, but I was not living anywhere in accordance to that, and what she was telling me was gonna happen now has happened, but I couldn't relate to it at all when she was giving me that reading. So that's another way to know if you are living in alignment with your soul purpose is you can get a, a great numerology reader, astrology reader, a hand print analysis. Look up Richard Unger, U-N-G-R- U-N-G-E-R. I'll try to remember to link his episode, 'cause I did have him on the podcast too. These are all ways, different
• 16:00
ways to, you know, get information. But if you get somebody who is good, they're... No matter how it's done, whether it is through reading the palm, whether it... or the hand. It's not palm reading, it's hand print. It's like your whole hand. Um, and it is different. But, or whether it's through astrology or however the information is given, if they are good readers, you can have different modalities and they're gonna be saying the same thing, because you are encoded. It is part of your encodement. And complimentary to that, notice how you feel with the way that you spend your day, the way that you're spending your time. Do you feel a sense of fulfillment and satisfaction or do you feel discontent? Another thing to think about is did you choose what it is that you are doing? Did you choose how you spend your time or did that get put
• 17:00
upon you? And what I mean by that is did your parents push you into what it is that you're doing today? They may have been loving parents, well-meaning parents, really looking out for you, and they may have directed you towards something safe that is actually causing your soul to cry out because you feel so lost, and you're not feeling that you are doing what you came here to do, even if that doesn't even make sense to you. But you feel that deep discontent, that deep unsettled feeling that the way that you're spending your time is not what you came here for. So what if you are not living your purpose? Is it necessary to live your purpose?
• 18:00
And I would say that it, you can live your life and not be in your purpose. You can do what you want. You have free will. But that's not what you came here for. You came here to live your purpose, and part of living your purpose might be flexing the muscles of your free will and saying, "Okay, I am no longer going to live somebody else's version of my life. I'm not gonna live what my parents wanted me to do, or what m- society wanted me to do, or what my, you know, guidance counselor said that I should do," whatever it might be. But you're gonna live for yourself, and you're gonna follow the feeling of joy, of what it is that gives you, that gives you vitality, that gives you inspiration, that gives you enthusiasm, that brings you a sense of excitement,
• 19:00
and that that is gonna help to lead you to your purpose and living what you came here to live. So- What happens if you don't? You don't... You're gonna, you're gonna feel this unsettled feeling until you answer the soul call. You're gonna, you're gonna have this feeling of unsettlement, of, of discontent. So you have to decide what quality of life do you wanna have? Is your safety and your security worth not feeling fulfilled? I can't imagine anything more important than feeling that you are living in accordance with what you came here to do. So I'm gonna leave you with that. Thank you so much for being
