- 3:16in the UK, British Virgin Islands and Dubai.
- 3:20Chris is here to unpack the intersection of AI, blockchain
- 3:24and real estate and how it can change the financial future of
- 3:29everyday people. Ladies and gentlemen, let's dive
- 3:32in and make welcome again Chris BC to the show.
- 3:37I'm still. Celebrating that introduction.
- 3:40Wow, fantastic. Thank you very much.
- 3:41That is what we are doing for sure.
- 3:45You know, it's it's really topical at the moment, certainly
- 3:49in the UKI think I think housing and and housing provision and
- 3:53the finance around it is a huge thing globally, but in the UK
- 3:56it's really, really topical. So yeah, thank you for that
- 3:58intro. Let's let's let's get into it.
- 4:00I'm really, really happy to be. A scary the party started.
- 4:04You know your your journey is actually taking you from the
- 4:07British Army to property development, consumer goods and
- 4:11of course now fintech innovation.
- 4:13So what were some of the key minds achieved that prepared you
- 4:17for this? Quantum this journey, yeah.
- 4:20So look, I, I think it's it's really difficult to articulate
- 4:23the chronological order chronological order of all of
- 4:26this right really concisely. But life has been a journey as
- 4:29it is for all of us, right? And I think I first got into
- 4:32property development and property early, early level,
- 4:35early stage property finance is the first part of my career,
- 4:40learning about structuring deals and and refinancing mortgages
- 4:44and self build mortgages in the UK.
- 4:46And I think that the entrepreneurial streak in me was
- 4:50really set alight when I discovered ways of using the
- 4:58banking system to generate wealth through the acquisition
- 5:01of property and land. I was too young to really
- 5:04embrace the opportunity and fully understand it.
- 5:07And having built some foundations academically,
- 5:10professionally for a couple of years, I learned a huge amount
- 5:15about the industry but wasn't quite ready for the execution.
- 5:18And I still had this athletic mindset that pulled me into a
- 5:22different direction of self improvement and, and you know,
- 5:25this better version of myself, which has led me to elitism in
- 5:28the military, I think, and, and pursuing a part of that, which
- 5:32was part of my boyhood, as most, most young men have this desire
- 5:37to play with big trucks, big toys, big loud toys and, and
- 5:42embrace that as a part of my life that I felt I needed to
- 5:45just satisfy without really considering what that really
- 5:49meant until I actually started doing it.
- 5:51And, you know, there was a paradigm shifting in my mindset,
- 5:54which was consolidating a lot of that early years learning and
- 5:58that entrepreneurial flare that I'd sparked.
- 6:00And that gave me the confidence to step outside of that military
- 6:04world, take that first step on a new journey, and fire up that
- 6:09entrepreneurial desire that I had to translate that into
- 6:12opportunity that started to build a foundation for my life.
- 6:15And what subsequently followed? You know, reality is different
- 6:21from daydreaming when you talk about these big toys.
- 6:27When it becomes real, it's a different.
- 6:29It's a ball game. But you know, something I
- 6:32appreciate about you is the fact that you are.
- 6:36But I say when they say when life gives you lemons, make
- 6:39lemonade. If that scene was a person, you
- 6:42should be like an embodiment of that scene.
- 6:46You are like the poster boy of that scene, actually.
- 6:49And of course, you've actually spoken about how failures have
- 6:52actually helped to shape your path.
- 6:53Can you share if you wish you know one or two setbacks that
- 6:58became turning points for your entrepreneurial journey?
- 7:03Yeah. So let me show you something
- 7:05that we didn't talk about. That is a story that's I'm quite
- 7:08comfortable sharing now, but it's quite close to my heart
- 7:11because it's quite early in my early years.
- 7:13So it might make some of your listeners laugh if not you, but
- 7:16when I was. I I can laugh at the drop of a
- 7:20needle. You know so my.
- 7:22Mom is. From South America, right?
- 7:24My mom brought us up, you know, in a very humble, humble space,
- 7:27my sister and I, and I'm about this thing, as most mums do,
- 7:32about losing keys and what to do if you lose your keys, right?
- 7:35So that stereotype, you lose your keys, every lock in your
- 7:38house, but up and down the street needs to be changed, let
- 7:41alone your own house, right? And I and I, I had an incident
- 7:45after one day at school where I was on my bike, put my hand in
- 7:48my pocket as I was talking to some friends, pulled my hand out
- 7:50of my pocket and my keys literally slow motion hit the
- 7:53bike frame and fell to the floor.
- 7:55But as they fell to the floor, I was above a storm drain.
- 7:58It literally landed on the on, on one of the throngs of the
- 8:01rail and just rolled into the storm drain and dropped down to
- 8:05the bottom of the store drain. I was just watching this in slow
- 8:07motion thinking Oh my God, Oh my God.
- 8:12And I thought to myself, what am I going to do?
- 8:14And of course I went home that night and explained to my mum
- 8:17that the the keys I'd lost falling down the drain, she just
- 8:20wasn't, she just didn't believe it.
- 8:22She just was not having it. And of course I knew I just, I
- 8:26could how, how do you make someone believe that your keys
- 8:29are in the drain unless they're there and saw it, let alone your
- 8:31own mum, right? And I knew the panic.
- 8:33I could see the panic in her face on setting that she was
- 8:35going to change every lock in the house.
- 8:37She was going to chat. Even though, you know, let's
- 8:39think about this rationally. Your keys don't have an address
- 8:42on it. There's no identifier to a
- 8:43specific house or who they belong to.
- 8:45So even if I had dropped them on the street and someone picked
- 8:47them up, no one's going to know they're my keys or that they
- 8:49belong to our property, right? So here's the thing and the
- 8:53panic. It's set.
- 8:53In it's the paranoia. Bro, unbelievable, right?
- 8:57And we laugh about this today, but at the time it was like, I
- 9:00need to get those keys. So I jumped back on my bike and
- 9:02I rode back to the road that was around the corner from my
- 9:04school. And all I could think of using
- 9:08at the time was a bottle. I think it was a bottle of Coke,
- 9:12plastic bottle of Coke. I can't remember.
- 9:14I knocked on a Gore, Gore got some scissors and cut it open.
- 9:16I didn't tell them what I was doing is saying, look, could you
- 9:18please help me because I've lost my keys blower.
- 9:20Voila, I lifted the storm drain up and then I started emptying
- 9:23this drain. I'm just going to say to you,
- 9:27this started at probably 4:15, half past four, at 20 to one.
- 9:32That morning, that night, that morning, I finished, I'd emptied
- 9:36the drain. My dad, my dad had come over.
- 9:41He didn't live with us. My dad had come over and had
- 9:43come to where I was. He had some dry cleaning in the
- 9:46car, literally emptied this storm drain and he'd helped me
- 9:49at that point. He was holding me upside down
- 9:51because I was, I was not leaving.
- 9:53I was not leaving until I pulled the keys out of that drain and
- 9:58I'd scrape the sediment off the drain.
- 10:00Anyway, the moral of the story is that he hung me upside down.
- 10:03I'd used a coat hanger to scrape the bottom of the drain.
- 10:06It'd taken best part of 6-7 hours to empty it.
- 10:08And I finally pulled the keys out.
- 10:10And that moment I sort of picked the keys up and went, there's my
- 10:13keys. That was a defining moment for
- 10:16me. I didn't realise at the time,
- 10:18but you know, I, I remember years later my dad saying to me,
- 10:22you know, there's a determination in you that's a
- 10:24rare quality because you were determined to prove that, you
- 10:27know, those keys were there, right.
- 10:28And so that's, that's, that's the quality that stayed with me.
- 10:30And whenever I faced a situation, whether it's
- 10:33athletically, whether it's anything to do with, you know,
- 10:36just needing to get stuff done, that has always been one of the
- 10:39few reminders in my life that if you're absolutely certain you
- 10:42just need to go, you just need to get it done, finish whatever,
- 10:45whatever it takes, just get it done.
- 10:46So, so that that that is definitely a theme.
- 10:49And then the other bit is just just that self belief.
- 10:52You know, you've got to back yourself.
- 10:53You absolutely have to back yourself and you have to
- 10:56surround yourself with people who believe in what you're
- 10:58doing, but also have the strength of character to believe
- 11:00in themselves. And you know, taking those steps
- 11:02is I think is absolutely is a mixture of things, you know, but
- 11:06just just get it done. Fundamentally, just get it done.
- 11:10I love, I love, I love this story.
- 11:13You know, it basically aligns with the theme of The Kingdom's
- 11:18podcast. The theme of The Kingdom's
- 11:20forecast is growth mindset, leadership and business
- 11:24insights, right? And I always love me a guest
- 11:28that aligns with the theme of the podcast.
- 11:32I set out to do just two things, to educate and to motivate.
- 11:40If I have those two things done, I think my job is done.
- 11:43Yeah, we're winning. I'm I'm grateful to have people
- 11:46like you do the job for me. Talking about how we how
- 11:50determined we are to find our keys, right?
- 11:53But let me tell you something Anyone that's nice about?
- 11:55I'm telling you. Anyone that knows about South
- 11:57American mums will understand the significance of that event
- 12:01in my life in terms of keeping the peace.
- 12:03But you know, I, I think as we've all things you sometimes
- 12:07you just need to take the first step and, and the journey of
- 12:10life is one of learning, right? We have to embrace, we have to
- 12:13embrace every, every task as an opportunity.
- 12:16We learn from our mistakes. If we, if we fail, if we get
- 12:19things wrong, just pick yourselves up and go again.
- 12:21You have to fail in order to learn this idea that everything
- 12:25is going to be perfect is just a myth.
- 12:26The world just isn't like that, right?
- 12:28And the world today, especially with technology, will make you
- 12:31think that everything is shiny, everything, everything's going
- 12:33to go perfect. It's just not what it is.
- 12:35But you have to go through adversity A to appreciate, but
- 12:39also to achieve. You know, no outcome is possible
- 12:42without some level of work ethic, some level of commitment,
- 12:47some level of, of, I want to say anxiety, that's probably not the
- 12:51right word. But you, you just have to
- 12:52commit. You just have to commit in every
- 12:54task. And I think this has probably
- 12:56been a consistent challenge to me throughout the years is, you
- 12:59know, it's finding your focus and finding the things that
- 13:02you're passionate about. And I think that that passion is
- 13:06your fuel. But if you can enjoy what you
- 13:07do, you can be happier. What you do, passion is very,
- 13:10very important. It's no longer a task.
- 13:12It's no longer a task. So then you just think about
- 13:15what you're chasing and why and where are the priorities and all
- 13:17of that, You know, and, and that's the analogy.
- 13:19Sometimes it's just about doing things right.
- 13:21Sometimes it's about doing what needs to be done.
- 13:24And, and most of it's about doing things properly.
- 13:25And, and I think people embrace that.
- 13:27People respect that, people lean towards that and adopt that in
- 13:31their own mindsets. And if that's something that
- 13:33people can take away from being around you, that's got to be a
- 13:35good thing. Absolutely.
- 13:39Absolutely. The very last thing you said, if
- 13:41that's something people can pick from you, that's, you know,
- 13:44really a great deal. I remember like recently, I
- 13:47think a few months ago, like an ex colleague of mine called me
- 13:51and guess what they said this lady was like, oh wow, I'm
- 13:57really, really proud of you. I'm like, oh, why?
- 14:00She was like, oh, the way you have built your podcast from
- 14:04ground, you know, to a globally, you know, recognised brand, like
- 14:10it's really amazing. I see your hard work, I see your
- 14:14consistency and I'm like, oh, wow, so people loop, right?
- 14:17People see people see your beauty and and guess what?
- 14:20This person was like, I need to come take a master class from
- 14:23you to learn how to be consistent.
- 14:28And like, excuse me, like there are certain things I don't think
- 14:31you just can't teach a person. Like how do you teach
- 14:34consistency? It's contagious, right?
- 14:36Growth mindset is contagious and success breeds success, you
- 14:40know, and there's a, there's an alchemy that attracts when
- 14:44you're doing things right. I think when you're doing things
- 14:46properly and, you know, and I think that that's one of the
- 14:49beauties of humanity is that we, we shine as human beings when,
- 14:54when we're doing things properly.
- 14:55And, and I think that that aspiration is, is, is in us all.
- 14:59It's in us on the, it's the right and wrong thing.
- 15:01You know, it's about understanding, you know, that
- 15:05you can do things better and that you can be better.
- 15:06And that applies to so much in life.
- 15:08You know, it's a central theme of everything that we're doing
- 15:11at the moment. And I say we, you know, I'm the
- 15:13CEO of Constructor and I'm leading execs in the business,
- 15:16but there's a few of us and we all have that same mindset.
- 15:19It's how do we, how do we do things better properly, but do
- 15:22it humbly. You know, we don't need to be
- 15:24shouting off the rooftops about what we're doing because we're
- 15:26doing it. But it doesn't mean we can't
- 15:28take pride and talk about it and be our own advocates.
- 15:30But I think there's a real subtle difference and I think if
- 15:33you. Don't blow your trumpet.
- 15:34Who? Who's going to be?
- 15:35Yeah, exactly. Right, exactly.
- 15:36But when people take note and recognise those things, that's a
- 15:39really endearing moment. So I think for you to have,
- 15:42yeah, a lot speaks a lot. Very, very endearing moment
- 15:47because like it's crazy and you know, somebody called me one
- 15:51time and I was like, well I see the work you do.
- 15:53Like I see you have posted without feel every week and it's
- 15:59crazy how the necessity told me that the only time I saw that
- 16:03you took a break was in January this year and you did not post
- 16:06for two weeks. And when you came back, I saw
- 16:08that you rebranded your podcast and I was like, wow.
- 16:11So people actually notice and this is somebody that doesn't
- 16:16even post a single comment on any of the platforms, but
- 16:20they're telling me what exactly I am doing.
- 16:23I'm like wow. You got real fan, Raven.
- 16:25Tech. That's the good book to read, by
- 16:29the way, not brother. That's a great book to read.
- 16:32Highly recommend rate, rate and and about customer service and
- 16:36the importance of valuing, valuing your customer base and
- 16:40making them really feel that value, you know, not in a
- 16:42transactional way. You know what, like we were
- 16:43talking about how software companies tend to operate today.
- 16:46There's a process, the perception of service, but the
- 16:49depth just isn't there. You know, it really isn't.
- 16:51It's all about the. Customer service.
- 16:54Yeah, so. That, that, that that's, that's
- 16:56a whole podcast on its own. That was episode 100 of my
- 17:00podcast with a guy here in the UK.
- 17:02You're on, you're on Diaz, right?
- 17:04We, we delved into customer service and customer experience.
- 17:08I think guys go go watch it. And of course, yeah, it's, it's
- 17:12a really great work. It's it's crazy how you know,
- 17:14customer experience ease in this age and time, right?
- 17:19You and me could go to the same restaurant and have different
- 17:22experiences, right? However, the companies,
- 17:24especially these software companies these days, think they
- 17:27can create an experience and push it on you.
- 17:31No. And they have a false sense of
- 17:35customer service, especially these guys who just take your
- 17:38money and force you to interact with AI tag bots.
- 17:42A process is, yeah, the most annoying thing.
- 17:45That's the most annoying thing that has ever happened in human
- 17:48history, in my opinion. I start to be corrected.
- 17:51Ultimately, it doesn't lead to a great brand experience, sorry,
- 17:55and it doesn't, it doesn't lead to you being an advocate of that
- 17:59brand or the experience you've just had.
- 18:01That's the thing, right? And I think that when we talk
- 18:03about society and where the change needs to happen to
- 18:07reflect where we want to be rather than where we are, it's
- 18:10about the the commercial narrative around a lot of what
- 18:12happens today and how things are delivered, communicated, the
- 18:15access to information, how that information is transmitted in
- 18:18the passage of that information. You know, there's some
- 18:21fundamental flaws in the progression that we've made in
- 18:25the last 20 years that have shaped the mindset of people and
- 18:28what they think is it right and wrong in in circumstances.
- 18:32And that transaction, be that physically or digitally, has
- 18:36captured a lot of those errors and turned it into a process,
- 18:39which just isn't acceptable when you're, when, when you're
- 18:42talking about how you should engage.
- 18:44And don't get me wrong, there's, there's, there's a time for
- 18:46parameters. And yes, every business has a
- 18:49right to generate a profit, but the experience and value in the
- 18:52people that enable you to generate that profit is a key
- 18:54part of it. And I think once that shift is
- 18:56addressed, then there's a, you know, the follow up of that is
- 18:59how does that translate to the world we live in?
- 19:02And, you know, the society that we're building and for us in
- 19:06construct coin and, you know, the, the, the initial product
- 19:10and, and, and actually the application is the output of
- 19:13what we're creating and, and the shaping of society through the
- 19:16communities that we build, through the houses that we're
- 19:19building and the, the living space that we're creating in the
- 19:22developments and how people value that living space, how
- 19:25people, how people engage with that living space.
- 19:28And, and it's a mindset, it's a mindset shift that starts at
- 19:31home And, and you know, the, the, the transaction.
- 19:35Charity begins at home. But it's where it starts, right?
- 19:38And, and, and how you live determines how you start your
- 19:40day, you know, how you engage with the rest of the world.
- 19:43So customer service, it's a huge subject, the mindset of
- 19:48commercial operations for customer service for profit.
- 19:51How do businesses engage? Well, that's about the fabric of
- 19:53society today. You know, it really is.
- 19:56And I think when when we talk about what we're building and,
- 20:00and, and what we want to do, it's about actually how to
- 20:03change, how to create opportunity, how to get people
- 20:05plugged back into value in their communities, their living space.
- 20:10And, and changing the way that they want, they engage with the
- 20:12world, you know, because you don't feel that you need to
- 20:14take, take, take all the time. It's you can give back.
- 20:17You can feel that this purpose you invested in your space, you
- 20:19invested in asset that is yours. And all these things are
- 20:22connected and they shape our outlook and how we and, and, and
- 20:27how and, and, and how we innovate, how we grow and how we
- 20:30how we go about achieving those things.
- 20:32You know, one thing I'm really happy with what you guys are
- 20:35doing is the fact that you are merging AI I'm blockchain to
- 20:40revolutionise real estate. Have you taken a look at my at
- 20:46my initials? Yes, yes, yes, yes.
- 20:51I said So what are my initial? Well, a.
- 20:53A. They take away the O.
- 20:56What do you have? Well AI go on break it down for
- 20:58me. That's AI brother, I'm saying.
- 21:03I saw that, I know that. But you're not the artificial
- 21:06intelligence. I'm sitting there waiting for
- 21:10the, for the, for the moment of me.
- 21:12Whatever you think, whatever you think, my parents did the right
- 21:15thing. They knew, you know, over 30
- 21:19years ago that this, this guy, this guy's going to be special
- 21:22you. Were going to start thinking of
- 21:25all of us. Yeah.
- 21:26So, you know, you know, with with all this stuff at him, it's
- 21:30like it's community start communities with that living
- 21:37space, right? And you know, we were just
- 21:41talking about customer service because that's a representation
- 21:44of people's mindsets and a representation of society as a
- 21:48whole. Just basically about just get,
- 21:50I've got to get the money. I've got to get the money.
- 21:53You know, the focus has shifted to just getting the money when
- 21:56it really should just be about how we're bettering, how are we
- 21:59bettering what we have, how we create opportunity, How we how
- 22:02we empowering the younger generation to plug into the
- 22:05future, to fill investors in developing themselves and the
- 22:09world that they live in or the part of the world that they live
- 22:11in, not just about taking, taking, taking.
- 22:12And we really believe that that starts at home and that starts
- 22:17in the living space that belongs to yourself, that belongs to the
- 22:19broader community that live around you.
- 22:20You're all invested in that, you're all looking after that
- 22:23you value that, you know, and then you set yourself another
- 22:25goal, which is about how do I, how do I do more of this?
- 22:28And, and everyone has different ambitions in life, right?
- 22:30But for those that want to be builders and creators, it just
- 22:33lays the, I guess the foundations of your thought
- 22:36process. It changes your sentiment to a
- 22:39degree. And I think that the utility
- 22:42that we see in in AI, in the opportunity to accelerate
- 22:47housing through rapid access to finance for developers, the
- 22:51opportunity to create an ecosystem whereby we are able to
- 22:57give token holders, investors the opportunity to invest as
- 23:00much or as little as they want in this ecosystem.
- 23:02So they can be the bank. It's not just a set of words,
- 23:05it's a very thought through mindset that you're opening up
- 23:08what has been a closed door opportunity to anyone that will
- 23:10partake. Where jurisdiction, regulation,
- 23:13regulatory requirements will allow you to.
- 23:16You know, when we are creating tools that enable the reshaping
- 23:21of an entire ecosystem within an industry, from the finance to
- 23:26the build, to the the services aspects of the sales and letting
- 23:30all the way through to the real world utility of that living
- 23:34space. How that can generate income,
- 23:37how that house can look after you or that property can look
- 23:40after you in a way. And how you can part own or own
- 23:43in full if there's so many different opportunities for
- 23:47people vested in what we call the homes of the future.
- 23:52And it starts with finance, you know, so looking at that
- 23:56holistic. Absolutely.
- 23:58It's a finance. It's not so finance, but looking
- 24:01at it holistically, it's just creating the opportunity for
- 24:03everyone to be as involved as much or as little as possible.
- 24:07You know, houses will come and go, the land that property is
- 24:11built on will change. You know, there'll be developers
- 24:14today that aren't here today, tomorrow, and they'll be
- 24:17developers that stand the test of time.
- 24:19But the one consistent theme in all of that from people that are
- 24:22making money to people that aren't making money is the the
- 24:25entities that are provided that infrastructure and that's the
- 24:28banks. That's been a consistent theme
- 24:31for a very, very long time. And that that creates a huge,
- 24:35well, the sets of foundation for quite an imbalance.
- 24:37And So what what we're creating through the the world of digital
- 24:40currency and crypto is, is the opportunity for that imbalance
- 24:44to reset, albeit on a much smaller scale, but it's still an
- 24:48opportunity for it to reset for people to partake who want to
- 24:51partake. And as a direct consequence of
- 24:54that, you're creating an entire new infrastructure for living,
- 24:59as well as industry advancement and development within, within
- 25:02real estate across the board. So, so those, the, the mindset
- 25:05that I'm referring to, the, the commercial mindset is, yes,
- 25:08every business has a right to make a profit.
- 25:10It's just what we're in business for.
- 25:11But it's about doing things properly.
- 25:14And what are the, what are the implications of that business's
- 25:16operations on the ecosystem that you operate within?
- 25:19And if you're today, we have to be doing good for society.
- 25:23We have to be good doing good for the environment, for the
- 25:26economy, you know, these all responsibilities of business
- 25:30leaders today, energy efficiency, energy
- 25:33sustainability, as well as wealth generation.
- 25:36You know, not just for a small few for the masses or anyone
- 25:39that wants to partake. And in doing so, you're also
- 25:42creating opportunity because you're building businesses that
- 25:45employ people, you're contributing to the economy
- 25:48through the traditional taxation systems and so on and so forth.
- 25:51But but people have to be invested in that growth and that
- 25:54and that's a big thing for us. So when I talk about, and as you
- 25:57highlighted that sort of that principle of customer service,
- 26:00that that really does just highlight the, the really
- 26:03thunderous noise of what is wrong with society today.
- 26:07That, that, that, that this is a part of creating a momentum of
- 26:12changing, you know, and you know, and we're not the only
- 26:15people doing that, that I think that the decentralised world,
- 26:18there's a lot of that mindsets about spreading the wealth and
- 26:21creating innovation and speeding up the pace of innovation and
- 26:25opportunity in different parts of the world through the
- 26:27movement of data and information.
- 26:29All these things are highly relevant, right?
- 26:30But but that's, that's our thought for, for our, for our
- 26:33contribution. That's that's where our flag is
- 26:35in the sand. And I think that a lot of what
- 26:36I've done and seen in my early years and, and my sort of
- 26:40military experience just really highlighted the need as I have
- 26:43felt exposed to this opportunity to partake and have the
- 26:45confidence to take those steps and start that journey.
- 26:49You know, I appreciate you talking about how the landscape
- 26:53of the, the, what I say, the finance world globally is
- 26:57changing, especially with decentralised finance.
- 27:01And we, we, we've seen a new trend and of course, new
- 27:06financial culture taking shape, albeit it might be slow, right,
- 27:13due to certain traditional resistance.
- 27:15But over time, we will see that wholesale change happen on a
- 27:21global scale. You and your team have actually
- 27:24introduced A-100 face token, A presale model, right?
- 27:29And of course, something no other crypto project has
- 27:32attempted. Why is this bold approach taking
- 27:37and how does it protect against the pomp and dump cycles that we
- 27:41have seen in the creeps? World Space with Yeah.
- 27:45Coins. Yeah, I think, I think so.
- 27:47I think it's important to separate past from present and
- 27:52some of the smoke and mirrors products and projects that exist
- 27:55in that sort of digital currency world.
- 27:56Those beam coins are annoying brother.
- 27:59Well, I, I still don't understand meme coins, frankly
- 28:02speaking. I mean, if people want to invest
- 28:04in stuff, that's their prerogative, right?
- 28:05And they exist for a reason. But but the, the, the, the
- 28:09proposition just to answer the first question.
- 28:11So, so we're, we're in 100 phase pre.
- 28:14So we're not actually the only people to do that.
- 28:15We're probably the first to really clearly articulate the
- 28:19plan. But within that, there's
- 28:20actually quite a few milestones, right?
- 28:22So the first one is obviously our launch and talking about how
- 28:26we have consolidated the activity off chain to provide
- 28:29the security for token holders on chain.
- 28:32And one critical part of all of this is that every development
- 28:35that we're engaged with provides the security to our token
- 28:39holders. So first and foremost we have
- 28:41today we have just over 13 and a half million on chain and in
- 28:47security. There is another I can't quote
- 28:52the full number, but that's going to ramp up quite
- 28:54significantly with with some deals that have been executed
- 28:56through the pre launch phase recently.
- 28:59And the purpose of that initial position is to establish our
- 29:03loan book to fund the developments we have in our deal
- 29:06flow right now with developers who have MVPD our initial
- 29:09product and we've been working with to roll this out right.
- 29:13The second part of it is that I've been very vocal as have
- 29:17members of my team in the traditional construction world
- 29:20about what we're doing and what we're building in the southeast
- 29:23of England, specifically in terms of sustainable family
- 29:25homes. So that the narrative of a pump
- 29:28and dump I think can't really come anywhere near us because
- 29:31we're very, we have a very clear road map.
- 29:33And what we're doing is demonstrating how we are
- 29:37pioneering change as well as bringing about some pre-existing
- 29:41change in a consolidated fashion into living space in in this
- 29:46part of the country. From the energy generation to
- 29:52the use of water filtration systems for efficiency, there's
- 29:55some real cool use cases in in what we call a smarter home, as
- 30:00well as some of the stuff that will just appeal to tech native
- 30:03people who who want to be connected to the latest bits and
- 30:06pieces that they use day-to-day in their home.
- 30:08And of course with the, the phases of our presale that set
- 30:11out over a period of time. So within that we have our token
- 30:14generation event, we have our, we have our certainty that a
- 30:18point in time in the not too distant future, we will be
- 30:21launching that token across exchanges and token holders that
- 30:24have invested will see the appreciation of that token.
- 30:26And again, at all times we're adding developments to provide
- 30:29the security to those tokens as well as rolling out some of the
- 30:32other features and functionality that will exist in the protocol,
- 30:35which we're really excited about.
- 30:37South the Construct Queen as a protocol is all about the
- 30:40network that we want to build, that we want to encourage other
- 30:44organisations to build within. And and those things are the
- 30:47things that separate us from some of the horror stories that
- 30:50we hear about that have been and gone.
- 30:52And the truth is, when you look at.
- 30:53Speaking of horror stories, I have a Horror Story for you.
- 30:58And and that's the thing. Right.
- 31:00So that that is bio, I don't know if you had a bio, have you
- 31:03had a bio the the client for the Pharmaceutical industry?
- 31:07Go and tell me about. It, that is, that's a very
- 31:10horrible Horror Story. I, I did invest in that client
- 31:13personality, but it was, it was bonkers.
- 31:15And so they, they claimed that they were meant to be that token
- 31:20to help with pharmaceutical research, you know, medical
- 31:23research and help to revolutionise the, you know,
- 31:28pharmaceutical and medical industry.
- 31:30However, you know, they got launched on Binance and that
- 31:35coin only kept on falling. I don't know what it is right
- 31:38now, but I think it's, it's next to nothing right now.
- 31:42It's crazy how you know, some of these guys come up with
- 31:46interesting, fantastic, you know, use cases, white papers
- 31:50and they just go down the train. Yeah.
- 31:53And that's the thing, right. So you just hit the nail on the
- 31:55head. And what I was getting to is
- 31:57that the real world utility is how does this business actually
- 32:01make money, whether it's digitally or physically, how
- 32:05does it make money? Our token holders and our
- 32:09business is making money. Now we were able to launch our
- 32:12on chain protocol because of what we've established off chain
- 32:15before we started our private round.
- 32:16And we are late in launching because we've been investing in
- 32:19technology, developing the MVP, because we've been we've gone
- 32:23through all the trial and tribulation of early stage
- 32:26companies as we've been raising money to fund the developments
- 32:29that will provide the security to the ecosystem that we're
- 32:31building. You know, and that, that has
- 32:34been a process which you've also learned some of the problems
- 32:36that we're trying to solve, learned of some of the problems
- 32:39that we're trying to solve, you know, in a way that we hadn't
- 32:42considered whilst we were scoping what the opportunity
- 32:44would be, you know, in the early and the early part of our
- 32:46journey. So, you know, the, the, the real
- 32:50world utility, the real world assets behind what we're doing
- 32:53provide the community with security, right?
- 32:57But it's about how we then evolve and, and going back to
- 33:00what I said at the beginning, it's about the, it's a change
- 33:03that we want to bring about that we want to execute.
- 33:06And there's three pillars to our protocol.
- 33:08The first one is AI in lending and there's a regulatory route
- 33:12yet, which we haven't even got off the ground, which we will do
- 33:14in year 2 for retail. It's the AI in the sales and
- 33:19lettings process. So that speaks to
- 33:22disintermediation. So the transition of the
- 33:25traditional estate agent embracing AI technology.
- 33:28So that's about automation and efficiency where we are
- 33:31trialling and developing the use case around the sale and letting
- 33:35of our own property developments.
- 33:37And then the third pillar is AI in a home and how does a
- 33:44resident occupying a new home embrace that process in a really
- 33:48personalised, really thought through way, which is about, for
- 33:52example, programming hardware in the property for personal
- 33:56experience, be that boilers, hot water temperatures, for example,
- 34:00climate control, be that energy efficiency through water or
- 34:04energy generated through Photofare technology around the
- 34:07development. And then being able to utilise
- 34:09that energy in some form of trading format, which speaks to
- 34:13the wallet we're launching and the ability to receive your
- 34:16credit in your wallet from the energy generated within your
- 34:20development. So the real world utility is
- 34:23about how we're changing the idea of a living space.
- 34:27And then the fundamental piece, which is the bit that we are
- 34:31also really excited about, which becomes a mainstream activity in
- 34:36the fourth pillar in the second year of our launch, is the
- 34:40opportunity to embrace a different mindset for a
- 34:44generation of people who feel they're locked out of owning a
- 34:48home. And how we can offer a solution
- 34:51to home ownership that has only existed with social housing and
- 34:54the stigma of housing associations.
- 34:58And, and change the the mindset for a generation of people who
- 35:01feel like they haven't been able to, to get on the property
- 35:03ladder and to make that attainable, to make that
- 35:06achievable through the developments that we're funding
- 35:08and building. And that will also involve
- 35:09partnerships with, with many more developers, but we're
- 35:12working with a handful now in the Southeast to roll that out,
- 35:15to develop the use case and then to take that to scale.
- 35:19So the UK government has a housing shortage of just under
- 35:221.5 million homes in the next five years.
- 35:24And, and you know, the issue is not just about planning.
- 35:27Let's, let's, let's be real about that challenge.
- 35:29It's not just about the bureaucracy, it's about the
- 35:31funding. Critically, it's the, the
- 35:34elephant in the room. And there are many small, medium
- 35:37sized businesses in the development market that can be a
- 35:41part of solving that problem. We're focusing on the ones that
- 35:44are able to meet our criteria for our appraisal tool in order
- 35:48to fund and build those developments and at the same
- 35:50time roll out of smoke to home initiatives to deliver some real
- 35:54tangible benefits. And at the end of that, as I
- 35:56say, it's making those units available to a demographic in
- 35:59society that may not have felt that they could even own a home.
- 36:02And of course, once they're embracing, most people are able
- 36:04to embrace the opportunity of owning that asset and achieving
- 36:07that lifelong milestone. Once that boxes ticks, what else
- 36:10can they focus on? You know, at the moment, there
- 36:13are many young people and middle-aged people that are
- 36:15paying rent every month and just burning that money and just have
- 36:18no hope for the future because they feel that their money is
- 36:20just hand to mouth every month, every month, every month.
- 36:23And that's a mindset shift that has to change.
- 36:26And that is also what I was saying to you as what we were
- 36:28discussing earlier. It's just the mindset of
- 36:29corporations where it's just about chasing that profit with
- 36:33no, no regard for society. So our, our, our community, our
- 36:38protocol, the movement that we want to create is how do we
- 36:41rebuild literally from the bottom up and that needs to be
- 36:45financed. But those 4 pillars are the very
- 36:48basics of the mechanism that we're creating within Construct
- 36:51Coin. And an underpinning all of that
- 36:54is the technology of state, the on chain activity that builds
- 36:57the integrity for us to enable other businesses to innovate on
- 37:02our chain when we get to that point.
- 37:04And that speaks to the latter part of our road map, which is
- 37:08how we evolve as an organisation, which I think will
- 37:10be a conversation for another episode mainly.
- 37:13I understand that your mission is to be the bank.
- 37:15And what does that mean for ordinary investors and
- 37:19entrepreneurs that are listening to us right now?
- 37:22Yeah, really simply so as you highlighted, so we're in this
- 37:24hundred phase presale that will start in two weeks.
- 37:27That means that you can invest as much or as little in our
- 37:33ecosystem and derive all of the benefit of crypto products,
- 37:38which is growing in value with all of the certainty of
- 37:41investing in real estate. That's what it means.
- 37:44So you have the power to invest with the security of real, real
- 37:48world assets backing in what we are doing through purchasing our
- 37:53token. Simply put, you invest as much,
- 37:56as little as you want and you're secured by real world assets
- 38:00That's all recorded on chain. Come to our website when we
- 38:04launch and you'll see it, I'm sure.
- 38:05And then the choices, the choice is entirely up to you.
- 38:08But our model is all about providing the same opportunity
- 38:13that is until now really been available to professional
- 38:17sophisticated investors, institutional investors, to
- 38:21anybody willing to partake in supporting us building out this
- 38:25ecosystem. Yes, please.
- 38:29So we are we're at construct coin with the K, so construct
- 38:33and COIN with ak.com and you will thank you for the
- 38:36opportunity to say that construct coin KK for coin.com.
- 38:42K that's you live at when? We'll be live in two.
- 38:48You live when? Live in two weeks.
- 38:52Well, I mean 2 interesting stuff, interesting stuff.
- 38:55So I'm going to let you go soon, but I would have to put you
- 38:59through the Pacific Ring of Fire that is the Creek Fire round.
- 39:02So give me your answers in just 10 seconds, 10 seconds please.
- 39:09So we're Fast forward to 10 years from now.
- 39:13What impact do you hope that Constructoin makes in the global
- 39:17real estate and finance space? Oh wow, we want to have
- 39:20contributed to the housing problem in the UK and to create
- 39:25a model that can be used elsewhere in the world.
- 39:29OK, there you go. And of course, what's the best
- 39:31business advice that you've ever?
- 39:32Received the journey of 1000 steps Starts with the first
- 39:35step. Take the step.
- 39:37Oh wow, we see that a lot in Nigeria.
- 39:41OK, so what's one book that has changed your perspective on
- 39:43business, on life? Do you know what?
- 39:45Someone asked me this the other day, and there's this.
- 39:48This is the book that absolutely inspired me in my early teens.
- 39:54It's Victor Kim, How to be an Entrepreneur.
- 39:56Victor Kim. He was the guy that bought
- 39:58Remington Razor in the late 70s. Victor Kim, How to Be an
- 40:01Entrepreneur. That that's that's the one.
- 40:05OK, we need to go get grab that book, AI or blockchain.
- 40:09Which one excites you more right now?
- 40:12Oh, well, that's that's a really loaded question given where we
- 40:14are, but but you know which one excites me.
- 40:20OK, do you know what the the possibilities in AI excite me,
- 40:25but I'm mostly. Let's leave it like that because
- 40:28I'm AI see it no more, say it no more.
- 40:32Don't get angry, upset. So if you were beauty and
- 40:38construct, if you weren't beauty and construct coin, what carrier
- 40:42would you be pursuing? Oh wow, that's a rewind moment
- 40:47and I can hear the clock ticking in the background.
- 40:51I. Would be I'd probably still be
- 40:54in the military in some way shameful form helping.
- 40:57OK, OK. Thank you.
- 41:00Thank you very much, Soldier Boy.
- 41:02Soldier Boy is has been really, really great.
- 41:04Happy. It's a day.
- 41:05And of course, Speaking of time, right?
- 41:08There's some people always say that an attitude of gratitude is
- 41:11good attitude. And of course, when somebody
- 41:13shares their time with you, you shared their life with you
- 41:16because the SIQ need for measuring life is time.
