- 0:02Welcome to Worldview Matters. Discussing controversial issues. Discerning current events. Defending biblical Christianity. No topic. Off limits. And now, here's your host, David Fiorazzo.
- 0:20Friends, family in Christ, thank you so much for tuning in. God bless you. Boy, do we need wisdom. And the word of the year continues to be discernment for these days we're living in. And I've got an expert guest, one of my friends, Pastor Tom Hughes from HopeForOurTimes.com. HopeForOurTimes.com. Him and Craig put out the book, Israel's Place in God's Eternal Plan, which we talked about a few, maybe a few podcasts ago with him. And we've got some interesting topics today, but very important subjects we want to try to tackle today.
- 0:50in the time we have with him. Brother, thank you so much for connecting with us. It's so good to see you, Tom.
- 0:56David, it is so good to see you again. And man, so much happening. Yeah. Wonderful to be with you. Yeah. Well, thank you for all you do, your research, your voice. I know you do a lot of conferences. So we're going to talk maybe a little bit about Canada, but definitely about Mexico and the church there. We're going to talk about some other things. But you've got a book that you've been sent or you compiled, and there are scriptures.
- 1:22Tell us about that, because this is brand new, but I think it's an important thing for people to get. I think it's hugely important. So our friend, Pastor Dave Bowen, you know, Dave, he had told me, hey, he said, I have put together 170 scriptures as just Bible for God's promise of the land to Jews, to the Jews, to Israel, an everlasting covenant.
- 1:47And I said, oh my gosh, I looked at it and said, Dave, I gotta put this into a book format and get it into people's hands. So that's what this is. And what happened, I mean, the Hodge twins said recently, Dave, I'm sure you saw it, there's only one verse in the whole Bible where God gave the land to the Jews and that's all done. You know, he's referencing Genesis chapter 12.
- 2:11And we hear this other nonsense, Kerry Prajeen Polar and others say, it's all done, the land doesn't belong to the Jews. So what this is, is 170 scriptures. It's not my opinion, it's not my explanation, it's not my interpretation.
- 2:29All it is is Bible. It's God's opinion. And I tell people, I said, listen, you have somebody who's challenging you that says God didn't give the land to the people of Israel. Well, here's 170 scriptures and nobody can say, well, that's the pastor's opinion. No, that's God's word. So take it up with the Lord.
- 2:50All right, Tom. So some people say there's only one. How about if you just right now give us two, just to refute the one. There's only one promise.
- 3:02Yes, two verses. All right, well, we can look at him even without going into the prophetic passages. In Genesis chapter 15, where God puts Abram, as his name was still Abram, he puts him to sleep. And by the way, this is hugely significant because when he puts him to sleep in Genesis chapter 15, the covenant isn't,
- 3:23It's with Abram, but it's all on God. It's not on Abram because God knew that no man could keep up his part of the covenant. And so God puts Abram to sleep in the ratification of the land going to him. Genesis chapter 17 is another one.
- 3:39where God says, I have given you this as an everlasting covenant. Even in, you start in Genesis chapter 14, where you have separation of Abraham a lot, but you walk right on through from there. You see that the promise is reiterated, not just with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. You see it with Joshua. And then when you go into the prophetic passages, you get to something like Ezekiel chapter 36,
- 4:07where God says, I am bringing you back into the land because of my name that I swore to your fathers. In other words, referring back to Abraham. Because my name is on the covenant, referring back to Genesis 15, where God puts Abram to sleep. And then I'm bringing you back into the land, even though you profane my name. And here's something else interesting, David, is that, as you know, it is a prerequisite
- 4:33that Israel's brought back into the land before they come to a belief in Jesus. They must be in a place of unrepentance when they come back into the land. So all these people say, look, they don't even believe, why should they even have the land? That's a prerequisite according to what the Bible, so if you believe the Bible, you really have a challenge with God's word. So none of those are even my opinion. I mean, that is what the Bible teaches.
- 5:00So, Pastor Tom, is this a case of biblical illiteracy? Is it taking things out of context? Is it some people selectively, you know, I mean, choosing what not they don't want to see in Scripture? What is it?
- 5:14All of the above. Spiritual warfare, of course. The enemy doesn't. Well, let's throw that in. That's at the top, right? Because I believe the enemy of our souls has blinded eyes of many so that they wouldn't see. But the problem is in the church. So much of the Western church is taught. You have all millennialism and post-millennial teaching that really hamstring what you can believe in the Bible as being literal.
- 5:42And because of that, when you come to a passage, a passage of the Old Testament or New Testament, where you have these promises of the second coming of Christ, you end up going into something like preterism, where everything was filled in history past, and there's nothing to see in the future, or amillennialism, where there is no millennial kingdom, where Jesus is going to come and rule and reign and the millennial kingdom begins. Listen, listen.
- 6:06The requirement, in fact, there's many in the amillennial camp that even say the millennial kingdom began back in 70 AD. And you look at it and go, I don't see how that's, you know, how that exactly works out. But nevertheless, in order for the millennial kingdom to begin, the Davidic covenant, the
- 6:33the Messiah will come as a savior, but also come as a conqueror. So in order for the prophecies to be fulfilled and the millennial kingdom to be fulfilled, as the Bible teaches, Jesus must come back before the millennial kingdom begins. He's the one who has to
- 6:49He has to kick it off. But when you take these things and you say, well, the Bible doesn't really mean that, you go into the allegorical passages, well, you can't really believe the Old Testament, hence Andy Stanley, but that has got legs. That is all over the Western church now. You can't really...
- 7:06believe the Old Testament, all the prophecies second coming to Christ, they're allegorical. So you have to get to a place of saying, well, it doesn't really mean that. It really means something different. So we have 170 scriptures, so 170 of them, somebody has to say, well, God doesn't really mean that, or God changed his mind, or God didn't know the future. He didn't know Israel was going to sin. Listen, God made those promises to Israel while they were in sin. I mean, you look at their kings and you go,
- 7:36And I know that's a longer answer than you have planned, but. That's right. God changed his mind. That's just, oh my goodness. Anyway, those will definitely help people refute some of this. So can they go to hopeforourtimes.com or is this available elsewhere? It's, Craig, it's only available through hopeforourtimes.com. It's not on Amazon or anything like that. And, and, yeah, yes.
- 8:04All right, so you've got some conferences coming up, Santa Barbara, Texas. You just spoke at a couple recently. I know you went to Mexico, but was there another one in there? Two. You speak all over the place, so you're busy.
- 8:20Right, so I need to have you come to one of our conferences, David. It would be great. So we were in, and I've done a lot of different ones, but the Are You Ready conferences, the first one was at Calvary Chapel, Ellensburg, Washington. It was fantastic. And then the next one was at 412 Church in...
- 8:37Boise, Idaho, which is also a Calvary Chapel. And that was what Brigitte Gabriel came out to that one. We have different speakers at all of them, but they're all tied together. The one coming to Santa Barbara, James Cadiz will be there. We have this really cool thing that's gonna take place regarding the KGB's Most Wanted with one of our guests, which I need to introduce you to them too. And then in,
- 9:02And several others, David Tao, Brandon Holthouse, and others will be there. And then coming up in Texas, Brandon House will be joining us. Andy Woods, Olivier Milnick, who you know well, Randall Price, and a few of my other friends and yours will be there also. That's in Texas. But they're all part of the same but all different messages. So people can stream it too if they can't be there in person for the upcoming ones.
- 9:30You're also—are you going to be at the Gettysburg, Pennsylvania? Yes. Our friend Brad Reeves? No, no, but I love Brad, and I'm just glad he's doing that. Kind of like the same we're doing, trying to start some conferences in Wisconsin. He's got the same issue there. There's just not many conferences like that. The body of Christ really needs that.
- 9:54that kind of thing. So I'm hoping that'll be great. I know you and I think Andy and J.B. Hickson. And is it Brandon, too? The usual suspects. Yeah, the usual suspects. Right. I haven't done anything with J.B. in a few months. I'm looking forward to seeing him. That's only a few. And we're in with Mike Spaulding coming up, too, in Ohio, Calvary Chapel. Wow.
- 10:20And so that's coming up in like two, I mean, yeah. So anyways, enough of all that. You know, we can talk about that all day. Okay. All right. Well, let's go to Mexico before we will touch on some other things, including the Supreme Court rulings and your take on that. But Mexico, I've had pastors from Canada on. I have not...
- 10:40I'm not familiar with the state of the church, and you say there's Calvary chapels there. That might surprise a lot of people. And you went there and spoke, and some other pastors, and you had a conference. Tell us about that, and give us an overview of what we just hear on the news are, like I said before we got on the podcast, we hear about the government there, we hear about the drug cartels, we don't hear about the church Christianity in Mexico. So give us an overview of what's going on, what happened at the conference.
- 11:09Sure. All right. First of all, yes, there is a drug cartel there. No, my head is did not get removed from my body. I've never known anybody yet that's had a problem with the cartel that wasn't involved with some really shady things themselves. So, I mean, we have three different missions that are in Mexico that we personally support. One of my guys stays there pretty much full time and then we have so we go there. But nevertheless, I'm.
- 11:36We had a conference, we have an annual conference at Calvary Chapel in Rosarito. Pastor Mike Vincent is the lead pastor there. They have four Sunday services. We had Friday night pastor teaching how to teach Bible prophecy. And last year, I think there were about 50 that were at it. This year, there were over 100.
- 12:01that came and most of the almost, there are only about three pastors that came from the states that were Spanish speaking churches. The rest were all from Mexico and it is amazing. Brandon Holdhouse and Dave Zamora did the teaching for the pastor classes. And then Saturday was a prophecy conference all day with both of them and myself. And you get the translation going on. I'm gonna tell you something, this church is on fire. It's a big church, probably a thousand seats.
- 12:29And it had four Sunday services. And David, it was packed, all four services. Most churches, you do that many services. Some are light. There were no light services. They were absolutely packed. The place was on fire and they want to have Bible prophecy. So we were able to bring it. And let me tell you, it's exciting. And these pastors were from all over Mexico that came for the conference to all over Mexico.
- 12:58That's great. So great to hear. So, yeah, wow. They do need that. They do need to understand Bible prophecy and be able to teach it to their congregations. We just don't hear about the church. We don't hear about Christianity, right, in Mexico much.
- 13:14I mean, I lived out in Southern California for 17 years. We would go across the border and help some, you know, do some missions work and go help. We supported an orphanage in Tijuana and things like that. But you don't hear about the church in the overall country. So that's good news, brother. That's good news. Oh, great.
- 13:31Yeah, so now, for the sake of time, I just want to mention what we're doing here at Freedom Project before we jump into Canada, and then we'll hopefully talk about the Supreme Court a little bit. Freedom Project Academy is enrolling students for the fall. They've been doing this for 16 years, FPA.

- 14:18School.com to get started. Okay, Tom, from Mexico, we travel through the United States, go all the way up to Canada. We've been warning about these free speech issues. You brought something to my attention. I didn't realize this hate speech legislation was passed recently. It's C9. Tell us about that.
- 14:38C9, so basically it is, and I know you have a lot of viewers up in Canada who would love to inform everybody this is what's going on. So basically a hate speech act that comes under this...
- 14:54guys of we're going after the anti-Semitic things. Well, I think watching Canada, it's hard to believe they're really going after the anti-Semitism because I'm watching Islam grow as it is growing here in the States and as it's pretty much taken over the UK.
- 15:12So look, okay, what's really going on? So you start going into it and start asking questions. Well, what about the Bible? How's the Bible affected with this? So I thought that was a good question to ask. And basically, check this out.
- 15:29It criminalizes, so what they're saying, David, is this doesn't, listen, if you're a Christian, you can operate Christianity, you can operate Judaism, you can operate any religion you want, you just can't attack another religion. Okay, so regarding the Bible,
- 15:44It says, literally, the law criminalizes the willful promotion of hatred against identifiable groups. That's a key. It does not ban scripture, but it does mean that if religious text or quote is weaponized to threaten, harass, or incite harm against protected classes such as sexual minorities, individuals could potentially face prosecution. So as I look at this,
- 16:13It says legal and constitutional experts. It also says, emphasizes C9 does not make simply quoting or teaching Bible a criminal offense. However, if you read something in here that targets a certain identifiable group and other people say it's hate, guess what? So now they're saying we're going to combat hate, but if you read parts of the Bible that we don't want you to read—
- 16:38You're going to jail. And so it's, I mean, I look at this and go, wow, all under the guise of this is to protect your religious rights. Jeez. Yeah. So I, I mean, to me, it's, it's, it's very alarming and we can already tell what's happening in the UK. You know, we both have friends in the UK. Mm-hmm.
- 17:00And so I look at it, you know, we're both in the States and we look what's going on in New York and we can see the rise of Marxism. That's that's it's obviously got a major foothold. We're in trouble in the States. And you look and go something like this is definitely coming to the U.S. and it will be used to shut you down.
- 17:21Wow. I mean, we've had enough censorship. You know, we get pulled off some of the big tech platforms for saying the wrong things. And we're still going through some of that. But yeah, this, I wouldn't be surprised if it's coming. Kind of off topic a little bit, Tom, but are you a little bit concerned about Canada's euthanasia? I guess the...
- 17:41the popularity of their medical assistance in dying legislation, where I don't know the numbers in front of me, but the numbers of people they really have killed, euthanasia, and even young people, it's not just for the elderly. That's really concerning. And then, you know, when I looked at, what does the United States do? There's like 14 states in America that have something similar, and that was very eye-opening to me.
- 18:08It's very troubling. Is Canada where this 12 year old boy was just euthanized a couple of weeks ago? I think it was Canada. It could have been Europe. I'm pretty sure it was Canada. And you look at this, you go, okay, like you said, it's not just for elderly people, it's for younger people. But even if we just take elderly people, my mom and dad passed away last year and I'm looking at,
- 18:32Okay, so it was the Netherlands. It wasn't Canada where the 12-year-old was euthanized. So it's not just Canada. So my dad's in here. We're here in the States, and I'm watching some of the medical things that are going on. And basically, you start to listen. You go, wait a minute.
- 18:49There seems to be more of an interest in not healing somebody, not exercising medicine to get them better, but how do we get them out of the way because it's going to cost the system too much. So I look at what's happening here in America under the guise of not using the term euthanizing or something like that, but just, hey, we're going to make sure everybody's comfortable or whatever. I mean, it's concerning to me.
- 19:16as we watch things go forward, especially when we already know. I mean, if we look at the past generations of humanity and you start to see what they did in order to make for a better society, and under their terms, a better society. I mean, Hitler did things, and Hitler wasn't the only one. Mao Zedong, I mean, Pol Pot, you start looking across the board. And as we have Marxism,
- 19:44is getting some serious, serious, serious footholds here in America right now. There's trouble brewing, and people in America need to wake up and realize what in the heck is really going on.
- 19:54And for the church, as far as we are concerned, the body of Christ, we need to understand how to discern and how to respond. Because if we do nothing, it will continue to grow. It's already a cancer. Not just Marxism. There are flat-out communists now. And, I mean, they got into our government. They got into education. They got into all kinds of things.
- 20:15areas in our country and it's it's actually not surprising to see what we're seeing and then the mosques in texas and different places but that's for another topic tom i really want to touch on the the u.s supreme court rulings a couple of them one of them was a little very disappointing and disturbing but let's start with the good news and that they did something that was sane i can see you like i said before the podcast i can see you doing this on your um you can't make this up
- 20:42Because why would the Supreme Court have to decide to protect girls and keep boys, you know, biological males out of girls' sports? Why would the Supreme Court have—because we've got a culture that calls evil good and good evil, and we've got to get through some of this delusion and moral relativism. So the Supreme Court, Tuesday, last Tuesday, 6 to 3—
- 21:02State laws protecting girls sports from male competitors do not violate Title IX or the Equal Protection Clause of the 14th Amendment. This is good, Tom. You want to speak to this for a moment?
- 21:16Yeah, so overall, it seems to be good. However, from what I also understand, it's also like, well, if you're in a particular, states can still do whatever they want to do. That's true. Yeah, so you come to a place like California—
- 21:33And we see, you know, it was Riley Gaines, I think it was up near San Francisco or something like that, when that dude's swimmer girl guy person, right, goes in and beats her, and then her life is threatened, she's locked in a classroom. Well, from what I understand, places like California, they get to continue to do what they do. But praise God for the, I would call it still a victory. We'll take the small victories when we can. Yeah, good point.
- 21:59But it needs to be blanketed over the entire nation. But I don't know. As long as we have certain Supreme Court justices, I mean, I look at some things. Amy Coney Barrett, you're thinking, what is she? Highly disappointing. But I'm thankful for some of the victory in this because there's definitely some victory in this. And that's a great thing.
- 22:23And unfortunately, the blue states will just get bluer. And, you know, I know we're not here to talk about voting. Oh, I've got another article on that next. And all of a sudden, ballots that just appear. But anyways, we'll take the win in this case. But it is ridiculous.
- 22:43I mean, anybody knows in the any. Here's the thing, David. Every single person knows just you don't even have to be very smart. You know, a boy is a boy and a girl is girl. So you have to know you are lying when you think a boy can have a baby. You have to be in such a place of great deceit. Can't tell me that half the population actually believes that or these adults or these doctors.
- 23:06You go to a veterinarian, they don't say, well, what sex is your dog? What do you mean male or female? Isn't it one of the 183 other options? No, it's a male or female. The entire plant world is male, female. The fish world is male, female. So you're looking going, why is this different? It is a, I believe it is a, um,
- 23:29This whole thing is a mass psyop of some type that is intended to confuse the masses in order to bring in, destroy the foundations and bring in their communistic Marxist ideas. It is about destroying the foundations of the United States of America. Yes. And it's a direct attack on this because nobody could actually believe
- 23:52that this dude can have a baby and he should be able to swim against girls or be in a boxing ring against a girl. Nobody can actually believe that that's a good idea.
- 24:04Well, this is spiritual at its core, right? Satan is the author of confusion, the father of lies. And so the left is using that big time. But I want to point out, it's interesting that justices Jackson, Kagan, and Sotomayor ruled against women having equal protection under the law. It shouldn't be surprising based on who appointed them to the Supreme Court. But let's really quick, Tom, we're running out of time. Let's go over to the Supreme Court ruling that allows mail-in ballots to be counted after—
- 24:34After in the United States, after Election Day, go ahead. Terrible. Absolutely terrible. OK, so we can just take the case in Los Angeles alone. David, you live close to Los Angeles. You look at this. Spencer Pratt comes in. He's obviously winning, completely flipping everything in a crazy way.
- 24:55radical blue place on its head because nobody expected this guy to come out of Hollywood and do this. It shows you that some people are sensible because they were voting for him. He goes to bed, everybody goes to bed, all of a sudden thousands upon thousands and thousands of ballots show up while everybody's sleeping and 0.0 of them were for Spencer Pratt. Unbelievable. How does that work?
- 25:22Right. All of a sudden, what do you have? You have crazy Karen Bass and you got a communist. That's your two options now in Los Angeles. So how do you I mean, moving forward, I only see this getting worse. But by the grace of God, Americans have got to wake up now. Look what's happening in Texas. Look what's already happened in other other places here. We've got to wake up. There are people in this country that want the right thing.
- 25:52And the fact that people were voting for Spencer Pratt in Los Angeles shows there's enough people here that want what's right, but there's evil people that are in charge of things like ballots. Friends, don't buy the lie. We've got to get to the polls. Christians have to vote. Your responsibility is very important. That's your duty as a Christian citizen.
- 26:10to influence who's going to be calling the shots in your community, in your country, Senate, House, wherever. We've got to do that. And this headline I was going to mention, we only have a minute left, but it says GOP voter enthusiasm is down. So you're going, come on, friends, we're in enough trouble with this ruling on the ballots counted after the election and the cheating and everything else that goes on. We've got enough coming against us, but if we have apathy on top of that,
- 26:38we've got to get more Christians engaged. Tom, one more minute. I'll just let you encourage the body of Christ, whatever you want to share, brother. Praise God that Jesus is on the throne and God is sovereign. We do not put our hope, as the psalmist wrote, hope in chariots or armies or men.
- 26:59Our hope is in the Lord Jesus Christ. So listen, friends, we have to be involved because we are supposed to be salt and light. And also we are part of that restraining force that God uses during the days that we are here. So we want to be faithful to the Lord. We got to be involved. Get out there and vote. Do what is right. But we got to remember to keep our eyes fixed on Jesus Christ, who is the author of our book.
- 27:22life and faith. He's the one who gives us life. He gives us breath. And remember, when we see these things begin to take place, look up and lift up your head because your redemption draws near. Hopeforourtimes.com. Find Pastor Tom on YouTube as well and check out all the other things that he does and catch him at a conference coming up. Brother, appreciate you. Thanks for your time and your ministry. Thank you, Dave. God bless. Friends, thank you. Share this one too. God bless you. And as always, keep speaking the truth about things that matter.
