- 0:02Speaker 1: No.
- 0:02Speaker 2: Yesterday or two days ago or whatever, my wife and
- 0:05Speaker 2: I were walking our dog Wanona, and I could not
- 0:08Speaker 2: help myself.
- 0:09Speaker 3: Every time.
- 0:10Speaker 2: You know, when you see like ice that's kind of
- 0:14Speaker 2: off the ground a tiny bit. It's normally on like
- 0:16Speaker 2: the side of a curve. Yeah, your boy cannot help himself.
- 0:22Speaker 2: I would step on that just to listen to it crack.
- 0:25Speaker 2: And I did this for like thirteen blocks.
- 0:29Speaker 4: You're like, where's one. No, No, I accidentally let her
- 0:31Speaker 4: up the lead.
- 0:32Speaker 2: Yeah, it's just kind of funny. Now the baby g
- 0:35Speaker 2: is on the way. We kind of point out every
- 0:37Speaker 2: weird thing that either of us do and be're like,
- 0:39Speaker 2: I hope the god they don't do that. But I
- 0:42Speaker 2: couldn't help it. I mean, there is just something about
- 0:46Speaker 2: listen to this. There's something about just ice cracking that
- 0:49Speaker 2: I love. Yeah, and then have you ever here's another
- 1:00Speaker 2: I love. This is one of the reasons I love
- 1:02Speaker 2: the fall. Have you ever been walking and you notice
- 1:04Speaker 2: like the leaves have kind of gotten a little bit
- 1:06Speaker 2: dry and same thing. They're usually built up on the
- 1:10Speaker 2: side of the street or the side of the curb
- 1:13Speaker 2: and you just walk right on top of them.
- 1:19Speaker 4: I love you have not lived until you have crunched
- 1:23Speaker 4: the dry leaves in fall. That was one thing when
- 1:27Speaker 4: I was living in Washington. It was only so doing
- 1:32Speaker 4: rainy that the leaves were never dry. It was misery.
- 1:35Speaker 4: So yes, oh yeah, crunching of leaves beautiful.
- 1:39Speaker 2: Seven oh one two eight zero one nine eight seven.
- 1:41Speaker 2: Is there a sound that you absolutely love? And we
- 1:44Speaker 2: do also have this up on Facebook. I like this
- 1:47Speaker 2: one from Pam. Pam says waves coming to shore. There's
- 1:51Speaker 2: no I mean, that might be one of the most
- 1:52Speaker 2: relaxing things.
- 1:53Speaker 4: Yeah, that's so serene. They have that, unlike audio apps
- 1:57Speaker 4: to relax for me. You know, the sound that I love,
- 2:01Speaker 4: and this is part of the reason that I participate
- 2:05Speaker 4: in wearing heels. I love the sound of high heels.
- 2:08Speaker 3: On the pavement. Yeah.
- 2:14Speaker 4: Yes, I will never be a flats girlie because I
- 2:18Speaker 4: gotta have Yeah.
- 2:20Speaker 2: There is something about the clickety clack that reminds me
- 2:23Speaker 2: of like a typewriter, like an old Oh yeah, yes,
- 2:27Speaker 2: that's a good one. We also have Donna who said
- 2:31Speaker 2: rain and thunderstorms just another one. Those can be so relaxing.
- 2:35Speaker 2: Now if they get absolutely insane and severe, all right,
- 2:39Speaker 2: then it's like, oh God, now I gotta stay inside,
- 2:41Speaker 2: but a nice little gentle rain.
- 2:43Speaker 3: Yeah, that's nice. That's absolutely wonderful.
- 2:45Speaker 4: Oh you know what my favorite one is, and we
- 2:47Speaker 4: actually have a video of this up on the Big
- 2:49Speaker 4: ninety eight point seven Facebook page. My favorite sound is
- 2:54Speaker 4: the one that you do every day at six point
- 2:57Speaker 4: thirty you pop open your energy drink.
- 3:00Speaker 5: That.
- 3:01Speaker 4: Oh my gosh, that sounds so good. I know you
- 3:03Speaker 4: already did it, but can you look. I have my
- 3:05Speaker 4: coke zero right here. I did not open it because
- 3:08Speaker 4: can you open it?
- 3:08Speaker 3: You're really good?
- 3:09Speaker 2: Okay, So if you've ever wondered, like, oh, I wonder
- 3:12Speaker 2: what goes on in the studio at Big ninety eight
- 3:14Speaker 2: point seven, I'll tell you right now. At six point thirty,
- 3:16Speaker 2: I try to open up right on the dot this
- 3:20Speaker 2: energy drink every morning just so we can get that
- 3:22Speaker 2: pop right at six thirty. Go check out that video
- 3:25Speaker 2: on Facebook. All right, Angie, are you ready? I can
- 3:27Speaker 2: do this for you?
- 3:27Speaker 3: Yes? All right, here we go.
- 3:31Speaker 4: It was great.
- 3:32Speaker 2: It is pretty good. Seven oh one two eight zero
- 3:35Speaker 2: one nine eight seven. Is there a sound you absolutely love?
- 3:39Speaker 2: Maybe you need to hear it this morning, and I'll
- 3:41Speaker 2: go ahead and try to play it for you here
- 3:42Speaker 2: on Big ninety eight point seven.
- 3:44Speaker 6: Big celebrating life's little victories. Every morning we practice gratitude
- 3:52Speaker 6: on Big ninety eight point seven.
- 3:53Speaker 3: If I could, I would keep this feeling in a
- 3:56Speaker 3: basket job, bust it out when it was someone's acting hard.
- 3:59Speaker 6: Sure, you were little victories with us at seven oh
- 4:02Speaker 6: one two eight oho one ninety eight seven.
- 4:04Speaker 3: Kids, I also needed to win that day.
- 4:07Speaker 2: And you know what, we have to give a big
- 4:08Speaker 2: shout out to Alison this morning, or Ali, she said,
- 4:11Speaker 2: I normally wake up at about five thirty and I
- 4:14Speaker 2: doom scroll on my phone for an hour. But today
- 4:19Speaker 2: I got up, got out of bed by five forty five.
- 4:22Speaker 2: I have Big ninety eight point seven on, and I'm
- 4:24Speaker 2: cleaning up all of the ish as how I'll say
- 4:28Speaker 2: it in the kitchen. So congratulations to Ali.
- 4:31Speaker 3: Hey, there you go.
- 4:32Speaker 2: Sometimes just getting up out of bed ten fifteen to
- 4:34Speaker 2: twenty minutes earlier can really make a massive impact on
- 4:37Speaker 2: your day. It gives you an extra couple of minutes
- 4:39Speaker 2: to get something done that you don't have to get
- 4:41Speaker 2: done later. Yeah, So way to go, Alli, h Angie.
- 4:44Speaker 2: Do you have a little victory for me today?
- 4:45Speaker 5: Oh?
- 4:45Speaker 4: My gosh, I do it's two little home projects that
- 4:49Speaker 4: are completed. So the first is a dresser. We ordered
- 4:54Speaker 4: a dresser. Only half of it came in on Friday,
- 4:58Speaker 4: and then the rest of it arrived a couple days ago.
- 5:00Speaker 4: So after no help for me, obviously, I didn't put
- 5:03Speaker 4: this thing together. But Mikey, my dear sweet boyfriend, man friend.
- 5:08Speaker 4: I think it's weird that we're so old and he's boyfriend. Anyway,
- 5:12Speaker 4: I digress. He put together the dresser. It's fully assembled,
- 5:16Speaker 4: and now all I have to do is put all
- 5:17Speaker 4: of my clothes in it.
- 5:18Speaker 3: So that's great.
- 5:19Speaker 4: And the other one was a two tier fruit bowl.
- 5:24Speaker 4: We've been buying a lot of fruit and it just
- 5:26Speaker 4: kind of rolls around all over the counter. And I
- 5:29Speaker 4: realized I don't have a fruit bowl because I'm not
- 5:31Speaker 4: a real adult. So ordered a two tiered one so
- 5:34Speaker 4: that it could be apples on the bottom, the little
- 5:38Speaker 4: hanging thing for the bananas, and then other fruits at
- 5:40Speaker 4: the top. And Aiden, my fifteen year old, he's the
- 5:44Speaker 4: one who put that one together because I, again, I
- 5:47Speaker 4: don't build things. That's just not my forte. And so
- 5:50Speaker 4: now those things are finished, I can enjoy fruit properly
- 5:54Speaker 4: stored and clothing properly stored.
- 5:57Speaker 3: Why are you laughing at me, Gabe. That's not building things,
- 6:02Speaker 3: not my fourth thing.
- 6:03Speaker 4: No, no, you don't want to see me with a
- 6:05Speaker 4: pile of legos. It's depressing.
- 6:08Speaker 2: The next time I come over, I'm gonna bring a hammer,
- 6:11Speaker 2: a drill and we're gonna build some even if it's
- 6:14Speaker 2: just out of two by four.
- 6:15Speaker 4: Okay, Bob the builder, I don't mean that.
- 6:19Speaker 3: What is your little victory.
- 6:20Speaker 2: My little victory is it's hard to explain, but all
- 6:24Speaker 2: of the preemptive stuff for Babyg's room is done except
- 6:30Speaker 2: putting together the cribs. So we've got we had to
- 6:33Speaker 2: rearrange some beds. I had to take a couch to
- 6:36Speaker 2: the Fargo landfill. Yeh, there's been a lot that's gone
- 6:38Speaker 2: on to this. We had to move a bed to
- 6:40Speaker 2: a different room, so dresser for baby ready to go.
- 6:44Speaker 2: The whole room basically empty, cleaned up, and so all
- 6:47Speaker 2: of the preemptive work before the real work is done.
- 6:51Speaker 2: We're gonna put together the crib and then ever slowly
- 6:54Speaker 2: but surely, just keep throwing junk in there.
- 6:58Speaker 3: Be ready to go.
- 6:59Speaker 2: But it's it's nice to know that it's all cleaned up,
- 7:01Speaker 2: and we can sort of, I don't know, not start
- 7:04Speaker 2: from scratch because there's already so little in that other room.
- 7:07Speaker 2: But we can really just start from a clean slate.
- 7:09Speaker 4: If you need any help putting the crib together, don't
- 7:13Speaker 4: call me.
- 7:14Speaker 3: Don't throw a texture. I remember that one.
- 7:20Speaker 6: You know, the thing that you're thinking about, but you're
- 7:23Speaker 6: too polite to say we got you?
- 7:25Speaker 4: Are you calling a Cody queen.
- 7:30Speaker 6: Dying on the hill of controversial opinion? So you don't
- 7:33Speaker 6: have toy? This is sorry, not sorry. On Big ninety
- 7:40Speaker 6: eight point seven.
- 7:41Speaker 2: It is story time for you this morning here on
- 7:43Speaker 2: Big ninety eight point seven. And I will say this
- 7:47Speaker 2: is one of the most annoyed I've ever been. You
- 7:49Speaker 2: have heard me talk before about Hey, if you go
- 7:52Speaker 2: into the gas station and you get some scratch offs
- 7:57Speaker 2: and you peek over your little shoulder and there's someone
- 7:59Speaker 2: behind you in line, move okay, yes, move four feet,
- 8:05Speaker 2: get your little quarter out, and scratch away till your
- 8:08Speaker 2: heart's desire. I couldn't care less, but I had ran
- 8:12Speaker 2: into a situation like this, uh the other day, and
- 8:15Speaker 2: what this part is kind of sad.
- 8:17Speaker 3: I was going to get our cat's ashes, our.
- 8:19Speaker 2: Cat that recently died, right, they were the ashes were
- 8:22Speaker 2: ready and what have you. So I take my little
- 8:24Speaker 2: booty to the vet. I walk in and there's a
- 8:27Speaker 2: man standing in there talking to you know, someone behind
- 8:31Speaker 2: the counter, right, yeah, and I'm standing there, you know. Yeah,
- 8:33Speaker 2: I'll wait my turn, obviously, I'll wait my turn in whatever.
- 8:36Speaker 3: Whatever.
- 8:36Speaker 2: This man, I kid you, I am not kidding, you
- 8:39Speaker 2: goes on an eight minute story about whatever. Now, maybe
- 8:43Speaker 2: he's going through something too and just needed a friend
- 8:46Speaker 2: that in that moment. Okay, can you take that eight
- 8:49Speaker 2: minutes and cut it down to five? All right, just
- 8:51Speaker 2: shorten this a tiny bit, and to make this even better.
- 8:55Speaker 2: As I'm sitting there trying to be polite and wait
- 8:58Speaker 2: my turn and what have you, this man in the
- 9:00Speaker 2: middle of his story I am not kidding, looks over
- 9:04Speaker 2: his shoulder, looks at me, acknowledges that I'm standing there,
- 9:10Speaker 2: and continues to go back to telling this story. I mean,
- 9:13Speaker 2: this dude is reading the Iliad to this lady behind
- 9:17Speaker 2: the counter.
- 9:17Speaker 3: Okay, not the eye contact, yeah right.
- 9:20Speaker 2: And then he finishes this story and I stand there
- 9:22Speaker 2: another three minutes after he knows I'm behind and I
- 9:26Speaker 2: feel terrible for the girl behind the counter, because I
- 9:28Speaker 2: think she's kind of she's trying to wrap it up
- 9:30Speaker 2: in the stands that I'm there or whatever. She doesn't
- 9:33Speaker 2: know what I'm there for, so me being the petty
- 9:36Speaker 2: little monster that I am.
- 9:37Speaker 3: Right, this guy finally.
- 9:40Speaker 2: Finishes up reading the dictionary to this woman, and I
- 9:44Speaker 2: walk up and very loudly because he's still kind of
- 9:48Speaker 2: lingering around, yeah, And I very loudly say, hey, yeah,
- 9:51Speaker 2: I'm just here to pick up my dead cat's ashes.
- 9:54Speaker 3: And this guy looked at me again.
- 9:58Speaker 2: And then you know, me being up there four seconds
- 10:00Speaker 2: like everything was paid for. They literally handed me the thing,
- 10:03Speaker 2: handed me the instructions, and then we just glared at
- 10:07Speaker 2: each other as I walked out of this vet, And
- 10:10Speaker 2: I am sorry that dead cat ashes Trump's whatever story
- 10:15Speaker 2: you were telling, But bro, I am not sorry.
- 10:18Speaker 5: Move.
- 10:19Speaker 4: I hope he felt so much.
- 10:21Speaker 3: Shame, one hundred percent, heal the bell shame.
- 10:25Speaker 2: And if, yeah, if he would have wanted to tell
- 10:27Speaker 2: a story and just like get out of the way,
- 10:29Speaker 2: because while the entire eight minutes that I was standing there,
- 10:33Speaker 2: he didn't get anything paid for anything.
- 10:34Speaker 3: This dude was just chit chatting.
- 10:37Speaker 2: Oh my god, brother, can I please just get these
- 10:39Speaker 2: ashes and get out of here. So I am not
- 10:42Speaker 2: sorry that I said that very loudly at the vet
- 10:45Speaker 2: the other day.
- 10:48Speaker 3: This is am I the problem? It's me, Hi the problem.
- 10:55Speaker 6: It's me.
- 10:56Speaker 3: We'll hear one side of the story and with your help.
- 11:00Speaker 6: You decide if it's right or if maybe you're the problem.
- 11:04Speaker 3: That's right, I am the problem.
- 11:06Speaker 6: On Big ninety eight point seven.
- 11:09Speaker 4: LEXI wrote into us. Hi gave an angie. I don't
- 11:12Speaker 4: know if this is exactly an am I the problem?
- 11:15Speaker 3: But I do want your take on this.
- 11:18Speaker 4: My girlfriend's pointed out to me that I only date
- 11:21Speaker 4: guys with obvious scars, and I guess they're right if
- 11:25Speaker 4: I look at all my ex'es lol.
- 11:27Speaker 3: But is that weird?
- 11:29Speaker 4: They keep giving me ish about it and saying I
- 11:32Speaker 4: should set my Tinder radius.
- 11:34Speaker 3: To include hospital.
- 11:36Speaker 4: I like this, But scars are hot, right, that's it.
- 11:40Speaker 2: That's okay, No, you're not the problem. Here's what I
- 11:46Speaker 2: do think is this is dating a dude with a scar.
- 11:48Speaker 2: And you know I've never dated a dude with a scar,
- 11:51Speaker 2: so I might need help here. Okay, is dating a
- 11:53Speaker 2: dude with a scar? Is that like a safe way
- 11:55Speaker 2: to maybe like test out the bad boy waters. Okay, yeah,
- 11:59Speaker 2: are you trying to maybe just dip your little pinky
- 12:02Speaker 2: toe into the bad boy creek?
- 12:05Speaker 5: What do you think?
- 12:06Speaker 4: Seven on one two, eight on one nine eight seven.
- 12:09Speaker 4: Our Scar's hot. Here's the thing. When I was a child,
- 12:14Speaker 4: I watched a movie called The Lion King, and in
- 12:19Speaker 4: it there was Mufasa, who was the upstanding king of
- 12:23Speaker 4: the Pridelands, and then his brother was evil named Scar
- 12:28Speaker 4: literally because he had also rooted to name your kid's
- 12:31Speaker 4: scar just because.
- 12:33Speaker 3: They have a scar.
- 12:33Speaker 4: But fine, and he had that scar above his eye.
- 12:36Speaker 4: And I don't know if it's because Jeremy Irons voiced him.
- 12:39Speaker 4: I don't know, but Scar the hotter lion, which I asked.
- 12:44Speaker 3: The more I talk, the more ridiculous this sounds. But
- 12:46Speaker 3: for me, that's.
- 12:47Speaker 4: Where my obsession with scars began. And I think that
- 12:52Speaker 4: a guy with a scar is hot. I think it's hot.
- 12:55Speaker 4: I think it means.
- 12:56Speaker 3: You've gone through some stuff. Yeah, you gone through some
- 12:58Speaker 3: trials and tribulations.
- 12:59Speaker 4: Yeah, in the words of Gabe, you face some adversity.
- 13:02Speaker 3: Yeah, you gotta face some adversity. Yeah, and you got
- 13:05Speaker 3: through it.
- 13:05Speaker 4: And there's a scar to show it and so I'm
- 13:08Speaker 4: with you, Lexi. I think scars are hot, so there's
- 13:11Speaker 4: nothing wrong if you're into them.
- 13:13Speaker 2: Does it depend how you you get the scar?
- 13:16Speaker 3: Okay?
- 13:17Speaker 2: I broke my wrists once, so I have a scar
- 13:19Speaker 2: on my left wrist from that right and the scar.
- 13:22Speaker 3: I don't know if it's cool. It's just like a
- 13:24Speaker 3: surgery scar.
- 13:25Speaker 6: Right.
- 13:25Speaker 2: I also have a scar, like a pretty good one
- 13:28Speaker 2: on my right hand, okay, and I got it from
- 13:31Speaker 2: my cat that scratched me. I don't know if that's
- 13:33Speaker 2: like screaming sex sapple. No, I think that's where you
- 13:37Speaker 2: lie about how you got seven one two eight zero
- 13:41Speaker 2: one eight seven?
- 13:42Speaker 3: Are you into dudes with scars?
- 13:51Speaker 4: Lexi wanted to know because her friends have been trolling her.
- 13:56Speaker 4: Is she a weird enough for being so attracted to
- 14:00Speaker 4: dudes with scars? I think guys of scars tend to
- 14:05Speaker 4: be hotter than guys with no scars.
- 14:07Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm I'm on the edge of I think she's
- 14:09Speaker 2: just trying to tip her dip her little toe into
- 14:11Speaker 2: the bad boy waters and not fully commit to a
- 14:17Speaker 2: bad boy. And we asked, and a lot of people responded.
- 14:20Speaker 2: Here we have Samantha who said not weird at all.
- 14:23Speaker 2: Scars mean they've lived a life. That's character. Baby, Yeah, yeah,
- 14:28Speaker 2: I like I love that ingrid, she said, green flag.
- 14:32Speaker 2: If he's got a scar, he's got a story. I'm listening.
- 14:35Speaker 2: Very good point. Hey, how'd you get that scar?
- 14:37Speaker 3: Now?
- 14:38Speaker 4: What a conversation started?
- 14:39Speaker 2: Unless he sounds like the Joker in a dark Night rises,
- 14:43Speaker 2: you're probably gonna be okay. Now, there are some people
- 14:47Speaker 2: who there it's not like, oh, this is a red flag,
- 14:49Speaker 2: I'll do it.
- 14:50Speaker 3: But there are some people who do.
- 14:51Speaker 2: Add a little to this that I kind of love here,
- 14:55Speaker 2: Samantha said, Or sorry, no, I already said, Samantha, this
- 14:58Speaker 2: is Angela.
- 14:59Speaker 3: She said.
- 15:00Speaker 2: It's not weird unless you're subconsciously trying to fix broken men.
- 15:07Speaker 2: And there's like there's a little snap right there, Like okay,
- 15:11Speaker 2: that is something to think about.
- 15:13Speaker 3: Okay, I like that.
- 15:15Speaker 4: You know what. Julia hit us up on the Facebook
- 15:17Speaker 4: page because we have this up, and she said, everyone
- 15:20Speaker 4: has preferences and things they find attractive. Don't see a
- 15:23Speaker 4: problem with this. But your friends are also hilarious. They
- 15:27Speaker 4: told her to set her tender radius to include hospital.
- 15:30Speaker 2: Right, you know what's funny? Julia said that right, yeah,
- 15:34Speaker 2: all right. Well Chelsea added something about this as well.
- 15:38Speaker 2: She said, set your tender radius to the er is wild.
- 15:43Speaker 2: Your friends are hilarious and they might be slightly correct.
- 15:53Speaker 4: I want to give a big shout out to the
- 15:56Speaker 4: team of teachers and specialists and staff at my son
- 16:01Speaker 4: Liam's elementary school for just being such a big support
- 16:05Speaker 4: to my little guy as we work through some of
- 16:10Speaker 4: his delays regarding math.
- 16:12Speaker 3: So my worst subject. Okay, so by a mile.
- 16:16Speaker 4: Liam is a really bright kid, excellent reader, great comprehension,
- 16:22Speaker 4: a fascinating little writer. But he struggles in the area
- 16:25Speaker 4: of math.
- 16:26Speaker 2: And so if you don't know who Liam is, that's
- 16:28Speaker 2: Angie's eight year old. Yes, about to be nine.
- 16:31Speaker 4: He's gonna be nine. Oh my gosh, where's the time go?
- 16:34Speaker 4: But I literally had a meeting yesterday. Mikey and I
- 16:38Speaker 4: went to have this meeting so we could discuss, like,
- 16:41Speaker 4: what are the options, what are we going to do
- 16:43Speaker 4: to try to make it so Liam can progress on
- 16:45Speaker 4: this math journey because we don't want to fall behind. Yeah,
- 16:49Speaker 4: and one thing that we noticed, and so I wanted
- 16:52Speaker 4: to ask, has anybody experienced this with their child? What
- 16:57Speaker 4: route did you take? Are you a tea yourself and
- 17:00Speaker 4: maybe you have some insight. This interesting thing with Liam
- 17:06Speaker 4: is that for him when it comes to math still,
- 17:10Speaker 4: he's always reversing the numbers the way he writes them,
- 17:14Speaker 4: the way he reads numbers, they're they're always backwards always.
- 17:20Speaker 4: But this doesn't happen with like language because we have yeah,
- 17:26Speaker 4: with reading, because we were initially concerned, like is there
- 17:29Speaker 4: a dyslexia situation going on? But this doesn't happen to
- 17:33Speaker 4: him with like written words. It's specific to math. And
- 17:38Speaker 4: so even you know, the teachers and the specialists were like,
- 17:41Speaker 4: it's so interesting because we don't ever see this with
- 17:43Speaker 4: just math. So I did some googling, which isn't always
- 17:46Speaker 4: you know, the most helpful because who knows what's what?
- 17:48Speaker 4: And that's why, you know, maybe someone in the fm
- 17:51Speaker 4: ARIA knows this, but there's something that is considered maybe
- 17:56Speaker 4: like a math dyslexia with reversing the numbers and sequences
- 18:01Speaker 4: and stuff, and how he can process that in his brain.
- 18:04Speaker 4: And I'm just so fascinated by this because I have
- 18:06Speaker 4: no idea. I have no idea how to help Lee.
- 18:09Speaker 4: I'm thankfully the team is on it. They're going to
- 18:11Speaker 4: start going through assessments and you know, pulling him out
- 18:14Speaker 4: of class in spirts to see what they can do.
- 18:16Speaker 4: But like I just I want to be able to
- 18:19Speaker 4: help him at home too, and I just have no
- 18:22Speaker 4: idea what I'm doing. So if there's anybody out there
- 18:27Speaker 4: who has, you know, experience with this or maybe their
- 18:30Speaker 4: kid went through a similar thing, because I don't know
- 18:32Speaker 4: any other kids who only switch around numbers. And this
- 18:36Speaker 4: has been like since he started school because he's in
- 18:39Speaker 4: third grade now. It's never been an issue with reading
- 18:42Speaker 4: or writing. It's just numbers, just the numbers.
- 18:45Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, well, yeah, if you have gone through something
- 18:48Speaker 2: like this, maybe with your child or your kiddo, and
- 18:51Speaker 2: there was something you tried or found or r resources.
- 18:56Speaker 4: That you can think of, please let me know. I
- 18:59Speaker 4: just am so interested in this, And obviously we want
- 19:02Speaker 4: Liam to grow up and not fall behind. And you know,
- 19:06Speaker 4: master math, but I mean, Gabe, you are not a
- 19:09Speaker 4: math genius and you're doing well.
- 19:11Speaker 2: I've done all right, I've made it this far in life. Yeah,
- 19:13Speaker 2: all right, good, Liam and I could take that times
- 19:15Speaker 2: test at the same time and we'd probably finish it
- 19:17Speaker 2: at the same time. And I'm thirty five years old,
- 19:20Speaker 2: all right, seven oh one two eight zero one nine
- 19:24Speaker 2: eight seven. If this is something you've ever gone through
- 19:25Speaker 2: with your kid, yeah, maybe you have just an idea,
- 19:28Speaker 2: a suggestion or whatever to help out Angie, who then,
- 19:31Speaker 2: of course would obviously help out Liam. She would love
- 19:34Speaker 2: to hear it this morning here on the Big ninety
- 19:35Speaker 2: eight point seven morning show.
- 19:39Speaker 3: Morning. Who's this? This is heighty?
- 19:41Speaker 1: How old is Liam?
- 19:42Speaker 4: Liam is eight? About to be nine in April.
- 19:44Speaker 1: Okay, So my kids are in kindergarten when this happened,
- 19:47Speaker 1: and it was one of them, and their numbers were
- 19:50Speaker 1: turned around. Their letters were fine, maybe the D and B,
- 19:53Speaker 1: but that's like almost every kid knows that. But anyways,
- 19:56Speaker 1: it's cool. The kindergarten teacher worried about it, where like
- 20:00Speaker 1: they're always.
- 20:01Speaker 6: Getting their four wrong.
- 20:02Speaker 1: They're always getting this wrong. It's always backwards. And the
- 20:05Speaker 1: kindergarten teacher took one of the little chairs and turned
- 20:07Speaker 1: it on its side, turned it upside down and.
- 20:09Speaker 3: Said, first she said, what is this object?
- 20:12Speaker 1: And we were like a chair and she turned it
- 20:13Speaker 1: upside down, put it on the floor. What is this object?
- 20:16Speaker 1: It's a chair? So exactly the number four is the
- 20:19Speaker 1: number four to your kids. The kid gets the number four,
- 20:21Speaker 1: gets the shape of the number four. It's just turned
- 20:23Speaker 1: on its side. The chairs turned on its side, it's
- 20:25Speaker 1: still a chair, and the number four is still a
- 20:27Speaker 1: four even though it's turned on its side.
- 20:29Speaker 3: That's such an interesting way to think about it.
- 20:31Speaker 2: If we see a four, are it doesn't matter how
- 20:34Speaker 2: you see it or which direction.
- 20:36Speaker 3: That's actually super interesting.
- 20:37Speaker 1: Yep.
- 20:37Speaker 4: I thought it was awesome.
- 20:38Speaker 1: I've never heard that from any other teacher, and I've
- 20:40Speaker 1: never heard that from anybody else. But it was just
- 20:42Speaker 1: like a little nice revelation and just to say, your
- 20:45Speaker 1: kid's okay. The chairs a chair, the four is a four.
- 20:48Speaker 4: Thank you, nighty you guys have an awesome day.
- 20:51Speaker 1: Good luckilyam You'll do awesome.
- 20:53Speaker 6: Good mom starting off the day with something good. This
- 21:02Speaker 6: is Gabe's good news on Big ninety eight point seven.
- 21:06Speaker 2: A twenty eight year old father of three from rural
- 21:10Speaker 2: war in Minnesota is back on his feet after a
- 21:14Speaker 2: debilitating disc related back painish incident left him walking with
- 21:19Speaker 2: a cane and sadly unable to play with his kids.
- 21:23Speaker 5: Three boys at home. And you know, a lot of
- 21:25Speaker 5: the time it was tough for me to play board
- 21:27Speaker 5: games with them or throw the football, play basketball at
- 21:30Speaker 5: things of that nature. So we really wanted something that
- 21:33Speaker 5: would let me keep my mobility and eliminate the pain
- 21:37Speaker 5: the best that we could.
- 21:38Speaker 2: Now, after a couple of these failed injections, Sanford Health
- 21:44Speaker 2: neurosurgeon doctor Alexander Drofa he performed a lumbar arthrow plasty,
- 21:50Speaker 2: which is a procedure that replaces a damaged disc with
- 21:53Speaker 2: a titanium implant instead of fusing the spine, and the
- 21:57Speaker 2: implant preserves motion and funk. Oh wow, Well, little do
- 22:02Speaker 2: we know that this man was the first patient to
- 22:05Speaker 2: undergo this procedure at Sanford, and now he is pain
- 22:10Speaker 2: free and walking normally, and he has really been excited
- 22:14Speaker 2: to return to work and enjoying life with his family again.
- 22:17Speaker 5: Like a million bucks worth every enter of the smile
- 22:20Speaker 5: on my boy's face.
- 22:21Speaker 3: So how awesome is that? I tell you what?
- 22:24Speaker 2: Doctors there, it just a they're just geniuses. Yeah, they're
- 22:28Speaker 2: just so smart. But the things they can do to
- 22:30Speaker 2: give people little things back. You know, we do little
- 22:32Speaker 2: victories here every day on Big ninety eight point seven
- 22:35Speaker 2: to start the show. It's amazing that there are people
- 22:37Speaker 2: walking amongst us who just give these things back to
- 22:40Speaker 2: people on a regular basis. And it's just so cool
- 22:43Speaker 2: to me that someone out there could do this for
- 22:45Speaker 2: this guy.
- 22:46Speaker 3: I mean, I can't.
- 22:47Speaker 4: Yeah, you love to see it because Gabe and I
- 22:49Speaker 4: aren't fixing anybody's spine ever.
- 22:52Speaker 2: We're probably the hope is maybe we caused some damage
- 22:55Speaker 2: because we made you laugh so hard, but that's about
- 22:58Speaker 2: all we're giving you.
- 22:59Speaker 4: So this is incredible for this father and also great
- 23:03Speaker 4: job doctor.
- 23:04Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 23:05Speaker 2: It brings me so much joy to know that there
- 23:06Speaker 2: are people out there who can do this and are
- 23:10Speaker 2: smart enough, bright enough, creative enough to be able to
- 23:13Speaker 2: give people a lot of things back. It's just wonderful
- 23:15Speaker 2: to see the world is full of nice people. If
- 23:17Speaker 2: you can't find one, you gotta be one.
