- 2:22- Welcome to the divine five one five podcast.
- 2:26- Here is today's prayer.
- 2:33- Hello, and welcome to divine five one five
- 2:35- daily prayers with Valerie Rupture.
- 2:38- Today's prayer topic is talking about finding hope
- 2:41- when life feels heavy.
- 2:42- Scriptural text comes from Romans fifteen thirteen and
- 2:45- reads, may the God of hope fill you
- 2:47- with all joy, peace as you trust him.
- 2:51- I wanna start the conversation by saying that
- 2:55- disappointment
- 2:56- has a way of making hope feel
- 2:59- very distant.
- 3:02- I mean, there are times when
- 3:06- it's like it it just never ends.
- 3:10- You try to do everything you can.
- 3:13- You try to
- 3:15- make all the best choices.
- 3:17- You try to help
- 3:19- people.
- 3:21- You try to
- 3:23- do whatever it is you're doing
- 3:25- to
- 3:26- meet the market, if you will.
- 3:28- And yet on every turn, it seems like
- 3:31- you're getting knocked down
- 3:33- and and,
- 3:35- completely,
- 3:37- demolished, if you will.
- 3:40- And it can be very disheartening
- 3:42- because
- 3:44- when you've done all you can do
- 3:46- and the scripture tells you to
- 3:49- stand
- 3:50- in spite of what you're facing,
- 3:52- it seems like a very
- 3:54- impossible task.
- 3:56- So much so where it I would go
- 3:59- as far as to say that
- 4:00- when prayers seem unanswered or circumstances
- 4:03- don't change as quickly as we'd like, it's
- 4:05- easy to become discouraged.
- 4:07- And,
- 4:09- there have been times where, you know, you
- 4:11- may have just felt like I am not
- 4:13- doing this anymore.
- 4:14- God, you have failed me. You're not listening
- 4:16- to me. I throw off my hands. Does
- 4:19- anybody see me? Does anyone care?
- 4:23- Yet our hope is not rooted in
- 4:27- circumstances, but in the faithfulness of God.
- 4:31- And
- 4:32- there are various places in the scriptures
- 4:35- where God talks about, I will never leave
- 4:38- you or forsake you.
- 4:41- But he also says
- 4:43- that man is born of a woman and
- 4:45- full of trouble
- 4:48- and
- 4:49- that
- 4:50- if you're on this planet, you're gonna go
- 4:52- through something.
- 4:53- So it's not that you're not gonna go
- 4:56- through
- 4:58- because you are,
- 5:00- but it's more so the fact that
- 5:03- when you're going through,
- 5:05- what are you anchoring
- 5:07- your hope to? What are you putting your
- 5:10- trust in? Or who are you putting your
- 5:11- trust in?
- 5:13- If you're putting the trust in
- 5:16- in in yourself,
- 5:18- well, that's not gonna work because
- 5:20- you're only gonna be able to go so
- 5:22- far,
- 5:23- and then you're gonna become exasperated.
- 5:27- If you're
- 5:29- looking to outside forces,
- 5:33- they're gonna let you down because
- 5:36- they don't usually operate by the same
- 5:40- belief system.
- 5:42- And if you're looking to God, but you're
- 5:44- looking to God to get you out of
- 5:46- the situation instead of
- 5:48- applying the the the tools or the resources
- 5:52- and and
- 5:54- trying to make that connection and learn what
- 5:56- it is he's really trying to relay in
- 5:58- that moment of challenge,
- 6:00- then you're gonna miss it.
- 6:03- It's gonna feel like
- 6:05- no one cares,
- 6:06- that God doesn't care,
- 6:08- that God doesn't hear you, and what's the
- 6:10- use.
- 6:12- But
- 6:15- what's important to remember is that
- 6:18- Romans tells
- 6:20- us that
- 6:21- not only is God faithful, but he's the
- 6:23- God of our hope.
- 6:25- He's the God that gives us peace.
- 6:28- Jesus said, I give you peace. I leave
- 6:31- it with you, and I give it to
- 6:33- you, Not as the world gets.
- 6:36- Because the world's peace is conditional.
- 6:38- But God's peace
- 6:40- and hope
- 6:42- comes from a love and an understanding
- 6:45- for
- 6:46- his kids and his creation
- 6:48- that goes way beyond what we can ever
- 6:51- ask or think. And that is the thing
- 6:53- that brings us joy. It's not the fact
- 6:56- that
- 6:58- we're gonna get out of the situation quickly,
- 7:00- but that God is in the situation
- 7:03- with us. And he's the thing that gives
- 7:05- us hope in the midst of everything because
- 7:08- every situation, every challenge we face is an
- 7:11- opportunity for him to prove himself strong and
- 7:14- to build trust and character in us.
- 7:17- So
- 7:18- that being said,
- 7:21- let's pray.
- 7:26- Heavenly father, breathe fresh hope into our hearts
- 7:28- today.
- 7:31- Help us lift our eyes above every circumstance
- 7:35- and fix them on your promises.
- 7:38- Strengthen our trust in your faithfulness,
- 7:42- and remind us that you are always working
- 7:44- even when we cannot see.
- 7:48- Fill us with your joy,
- 7:50- your peace,
- 7:51- and your renewed confidence in your goodness,
- 7:54- and we will bless you in Jesus' name.
- 7:59- Today, choose one promise from scripture and carry
- 8:02- it with you as a reminder
- 8:03- that your hope is anchored in Christ.
