- 0:00Speaker 1: Jess, Hello, thanks for holding what's up?
- 0:02Speaker 2: Hi?
- 0:03Speaker 1: Hi? What's on your mind? What do you want to
- 0:05Speaker 1: talk about? What do you want to get into? How
- 0:07Speaker 1: can we help you.
- 0:08Speaker 3: One of my coworkers has started greeting me every single
- 0:11Speaker 3: morning with like, hey twin, and I cannot even explain
- 0:17Speaker 3: to the level of irritation it causes me.
- 0:20Speaker 4: Hey queen, No, hey twinsy twin, Oh.
- 0:24Speaker 5: Hey twin, Yeah, okay, how are How aren't you alike?
- 0:28Speaker 5: In what ways are you different?
- 0:30Speaker 3: We're just different in like literally every way. Like I
- 0:33Speaker 3: don't have the same hair as her. I don't even
- 0:35Speaker 3: have the same outfit. I think one time we wore
- 0:38Speaker 3: the same colored shirt. And that's where this is coming from. Yeah,
- 0:42Speaker 3: not the same face, No, not the same vibe, not
- 0:45Speaker 3: any sort of any sort of twentying happening between us.
- 0:50Speaker 5: Wild because like if you say anything in protest, then
- 0:53Speaker 5: you're a jerk, so you have to get a.
- 0:57Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 0:58Speaker 3: I feel like I like, I literally can't just go
- 1:01Speaker 3: like like I'm not I'm not a twin and you're
- 1:05Speaker 3: an ugly match.
- 1:06Speaker 5: But yet I would come off as slightly mean.
- 1:15Speaker 3: But I don't know, I'm just like slightly losing my mind.
- 1:18Speaker 3: And every day when I come in and she's like, Twin,
- 1:20Speaker 3: where have you been? I lose another piece of myself
- 1:24Speaker 3: And like the worst part is, I know, I know
- 1:28Speaker 3: I can't say anything, like I know I can't be like,
- 1:30Speaker 3: can you please stop calling me that? It feels visually disrespectful.
- 1:37Speaker 1: You know what, It's slang. It doesn't mean that you're
- 1:41Speaker 1: her twin. It's slang maybe like she really likes you
- 1:45Speaker 1: once being a friend. Dutch, my son Dutch tells me
- 1:50Speaker 1: that that's what happens on the basketball team all the time.
- 1:54Speaker 1: Am I right?
- 1:56Speaker 2: Yeah, like Haye Twain, Like I get, but it's like
- 1:58Speaker 2: someone that I would be in my feelings, I wouldn't
- 2:02Speaker 2: be if someone is like low key a little busted
- 2:07Speaker 2: and they're like hey, like what do you try to
- 2:08Speaker 2: say about me?
- 2:10Speaker 3: Literally? Literally no.
- 2:12Speaker 1: I feel like if I go pay hey, dude, Hayton, Uh,
- 2:16Speaker 1: what time you guys go to the game, Like, don't
- 2:17Speaker 1: call me dude. I'm not a dude.
- 2:19Speaker 3: I know.
- 2:19Speaker 1: It's just slam.
- 2:19Speaker 5: It's just like that.
- 2:20Speaker 2: Yeah, it's like hey, Twin. It's like it's like hey Bessie,
- 2:23Speaker 2: hey girl. Like it's definitely like that. But I can
- 2:25Speaker 2: see I can see.
- 2:27Speaker 1: Where you're literal.
- 2:29Speaker 2: Yeah, you're taking it too literal. Like I think she
- 2:31Speaker 2: I think Kyle's right. She probably just wants to be
- 2:33Speaker 2: your friend. She probably thinks you're really cool, really cute,
- 2:36Speaker 2: really fun, and just wants to build that connection.
- 2:39Speaker 5: Meanwhile, Chess is dying inside just a little bit every time.
- 2:42Speaker 3: Every time, I'm just like, I understand the rational part
- 2:45Speaker 3: of me is agreeing with you guys, So like every
- 2:47Speaker 3: time I hear it, it's just like, I like grit
- 2:50Speaker 3: my teeth and I'm just like slowly dying. And honestly,
- 2:54Speaker 3: I'm I'm one hate twin away from filing an HR
- 2:58Speaker 3: complaint from.
- 2:59Speaker 4: Oh, don't do that.
- 3:05Speaker 2: You just need to write it out and just be
- 3:06Speaker 2: nice to her.
- 3:07Speaker 1: I'm sure joy when I find ugly people that look
- 3:10Speaker 1: like rich and I take pictures of them together and
- 3:12Speaker 1: I'll say it's richest brother. That's one of my favorite
- 3:16Speaker 1: things to do in the world.
- 3:17Speaker 4: And honestly, the resemblance is kind of close sometimes.
- 3:20Speaker 1: And am I going to say, you know, there was
- 3:21Speaker 1: a guy we used to work with in Tucson and
- 3:24Speaker 1: everyone his name, I don't want to say his name,
- 3:27Speaker 1: but he looked like me. But he was heavier than me,
- 3:31Speaker 1: and he was extremely gay, right remembersay John Jay. He
- 3:35Speaker 1: was and I at one point wanted him to go
- 3:37Speaker 1: he would go out to the place he would get
- 3:38Speaker 1: free meals and stuff, but he died. I know it's sad,
- 3:42Speaker 1: but I love that guy. And I would be like, hey,
- 3:43Speaker 1: can you go here for me?
- 3:45Speaker 2: You would be like, hey, Twin, can you go here?
- 3:47Speaker 1: Hey Twin, Hey Twin, I don't care how flamboy you are.
- 3:50Speaker 1: I need you to be got him appearance of his
- 3:52Speaker 1: place to tell me. You me never that guy.
- 3:55Speaker 4: He was great, He was precious.
- 3:56Speaker 1: He was so nice.
- 3:58Speaker 2: Do you remember your friend that you called six scessful
- 4:00Speaker 2: rich Para?
- 4:01Speaker 4: Oh yeah, yeah, successfull.
- 4:03Speaker 2: He was great, very successful.
- 4:08Speaker 1: This guy's way more successful here too. I haven't talked
- 4:15Speaker 1: to him in a while. I'll probably see him this summer. Yeah,
- 4:17Speaker 1: successful rich Para is great.
- 4:20Speaker 5: You know, just recently and I brought that up, and
- 4:23Speaker 5: my wife's like successful, she.
- 4:25Speaker 1: Wants to meet him.
- 4:29Speaker 4: She asked so many follow up questions, like she never
- 4:31Speaker 4: does that?
- 4:33Speaker 2: Is he hang out around here?
- 4:37Speaker 1: All right?
- 4:37Speaker 4: Jess, thanks for calling it, Jess, have a great day.
- 4:40Speaker 3: Thank you.
- 4:41Speaker 4: I was.
- 4:52Speaker 1: Peyton's gonna bring something up and I don't know why,
- 4:55Speaker 1: but I have this. Whenever Peyton brings something up, I
- 4:57Speaker 1: want to present this song. I want this to be
- 5:00Speaker 1: like Peyton's theme. Hey, Like I'll be.
- 5:01Speaker 4: Like, hey, Payne's got something.
- 5:07Speaker 1: I like it.
- 5:08Speaker 4: Illi's place.
- 5:12Speaker 2: Well. No, I was scrolling on Instagram and I found
- 5:14Speaker 2: out that gen Z has a new travel vocabulary.
- 5:17Speaker 4: And I was like what.
- 5:19Speaker 2: And it's genius, like micro rotation a short getaway lasting
- 5:23Speaker 2: anywhere from twenty four to seventy two hours, and you
- 5:27Speaker 2: just design it to like fit your everyday life. Then
- 5:29Speaker 2: like an actual big.
- 5:30Speaker 4: Vacation, so we can get away.
- 5:32Speaker 2: We can get away, but it's a micromike gen Z Millennial.
- 5:37Speaker 1: We can get away.
- 5:38Speaker 2: Yes, okay, we all know room rotting right, like you know,
- 5:41Speaker 2: like no rotting. Oh my gosh. It's like when you
- 5:44Speaker 2: travel but you don't really have like an agenda. Say
- 5:46Speaker 2: like say you go to like a beach town, but
- 5:49Speaker 2: you just want a room rod all day and look
- 5:50Speaker 2: from the beach from your windows.
- 5:51Speaker 5: Okay, yeah, like a vacation room rotting.
- 5:55Speaker 2: Most people go on vacation and then actually get out
- 5:57Speaker 2: of their hotel room to stay in your hotel. I
- 6:01Speaker 2: started that canon event, a spontaneous moment that becomes more
- 6:06Speaker 2: memorable than anything that you actually plan. What is a
- 6:09Speaker 2: canon event.
- 6:11Speaker 5: Canon becomes part of the story of your life, one
- 6:15Speaker 5: of those things that.
- 6:16Speaker 2: Happened, but like that you didn't think was gonna happen.
- 6:18Speaker 2: You're talking about at two am. It's like, oh my gosh,
- 6:20Speaker 2: there's no.
- 6:20Speaker 1: Way I need an example. I don't understand.
- 6:23Speaker 2: A cannon event would be like a spontaneous moment for them.
- 6:28Speaker 1: Anything you act literally Rich and Stacey running into Travis Kelsey.
- 6:34Speaker 1: They're going to a wedding somewhere and bump into Okay,
- 6:38Speaker 1: so it was there. You were there for something, an event,
- 6:41Speaker 1: and meanwhile it's all about Travis.
- 6:42Speaker 5: And it could be also that you go somewhere where
- 6:45Speaker 5: they're shooting off cannons event that's awesome.
- 6:48Speaker 2: Yeah, that's that's possible.
- 6:49Speaker 5: Okay.
- 6:50Speaker 2: The influenced travel choosing destinations that feel personal rather than
- 6:54Speaker 2: places made famous by social media. So you go somewhere
- 6:57Speaker 2: that's like near and dear to your heart, like the
- 6:59Speaker 2: way that you go to Ireland because my name is Ireland.
- 7:02Speaker 4: But you're not doing it for the GRAM.
- 7:03Speaker 1: You're going to You're going on vacation. Because that's where
- 7:05Speaker 1: you want to go on vacation.
- 7:08Speaker 5: Can't can't even consider that, Like, why do we go
- 7:11Speaker 5: somewhere that we can't?
- 7:12Speaker 4: We can't.
- 7:14Speaker 2: De influence travel.
- 7:18Speaker 1: What we call normal travel.
- 7:22Speaker 2: Mirror trip, which is a trip planned around your personality
- 7:26Speaker 2: or interest, your identity rather than like a traditional checklist.
- 7:29Speaker 2: So if you like to go thrifting or you like
- 7:31Speaker 2: to do things like that, you will go specifically to
- 7:33Speaker 2: a town where they're known for their thrifting or something
- 7:36Speaker 2: like that.
- 7:37Speaker 1: Are there towns known for thrifting?
- 7:38Speaker 2: Yeah? Like New York, there's a couple of Like there's
- 7:41Speaker 2: Magazine Street in New Orleans that's huge for thrifting. I'm
- 7:44Speaker 2: sure there's some spots in San Diego, Okay. A y
- 7:48Speaker 2: cation a trip inspired by a feeling or mood rather
- 7:52Speaker 2: than like a specific destination. So it's like I wasn't
- 7:54Speaker 2: looking for a place, I was looking for peace.
- 7:57Speaker 1: So that's like going to mirror Ball or something like that.
- 8:00Speaker 1: You go to get away. There's this other place I've
- 8:02Speaker 1: heard about, Castle Springs, Hot Springs, Yes, Yeah, have you
- 8:07Speaker 1: heard of that place? Yeah? I've talked to two people
- 8:09Speaker 1: recently have been there.
- 8:10Speaker 4: What do you do? Just jump in the they.
- 8:12Speaker 1: Have like hot spring, but they have stuff that's like
- 8:14Speaker 1: what Peyton's talking about.
- 8:15Speaker 5: Yeah, and it's like you either have to like helicopter
- 8:18Speaker 5: in or ride a long time on a dirt road.
- 8:20Speaker 1: Yeah, that's funny. That's exactly what was described to me.
- 8:23Speaker 1: And they told me the dirt road drive is miserable.
- 8:25Speaker 1: And you'll see why everyone helicopter's in. I'm like, how
- 8:27Speaker 1: do you just helicopter in? Where do you go get
- 8:29Speaker 1: a They make it seem like it's just a cab service, right,
- 8:32Speaker 1: like where do you go get a helicopter? Just grab
- 8:34Speaker 1: grab a helicopter like an uber. You got a helicopter in.
- 8:36Speaker 4: We have a lot more customers if they put in
- 8:38Speaker 4: a decent road.
- 8:39Speaker 1: Well yeah, someday I'll go your ykation.
- 8:42Speaker 5: Okay.
- 8:43Speaker 2: Local lore hunting so you're exploring the everyday side of
- 8:46Speaker 2: a destination, from the neighborhood markets to local hangout. So
- 8:49Speaker 2: skip the tourist traps. Let's go where the locals go.
- 8:51Speaker 4: That's pretty.
- 8:52Speaker 2: You go to like Paris and you ask a local
- 8:55Speaker 2: where's the spots that I go? And you skip all
- 8:56Speaker 2: the touristy stuff.
- 8:57Speaker 1: Okay. So the thing is with that that sounds like
- 8:59Speaker 1: something and again people have always done. Now you're just
- 9:01Speaker 1: putting labels on it now. Yeah, Well, because like when
- 9:03Speaker 1: we were in we were as I and we went
- 9:06Speaker 1: to the places. Oh yeah, we we were in Saday.
- 9:08Speaker 1: We were in del Mar a while ago in del
- 9:10Speaker 1: Mar and we're walking or staying around by the place
- 9:13Speaker 1: where at and someone told my wife about a little
- 9:14Speaker 1: place in a neighborhood. They turned a house into a cafe.
- 9:17Speaker 1: Nobody knows about it unless you live in that neighborhood.
- 9:20Speaker 1: And it was passed.
- 9:20Speaker 4: That's awesome.
- 9:21Speaker 1: So that's called what.
- 9:22Speaker 2: That is called local lore hunting. This one's my favorite
- 9:26Speaker 2: menty B travel trip. A trip where you go because
- 9:29Speaker 2: you're overwhelmed and desperately need a break. It wasn't like
- 9:33Speaker 2: a vacation, it was just because you had a mental
- 9:35Speaker 2: health too. You have to for your mental health to
- 9:38Speaker 2: go on this trip. Then you have side questing, which
- 9:40Speaker 2: we know it's like you go on another trip. Within
- 9:42Speaker 2: the trip, you have an anti intinerary trip, which is
- 9:45Speaker 2: where you travel with a little to no schedule.
- 9:47Speaker 4: You just move that way. That's my favorite dry.
- 9:49Speaker 2: Tripping, which is choosing rest, nature, meaningful experiences over night life.
- 9:55Speaker 2: So there is your gen Z travel list.
- 9:58Speaker 4: It's very long, Like, you know, do we need all
- 10:02Speaker 4: those terms? No? No, Like are people actually using those terms?
- 10:07Speaker 2: Like people are saying T travel a couple of times?
- 10:10Speaker 4: Okay, the side trip, the side trip?
- 10:14Speaker 1: Would you call that quest? Yeah, it's called yeah side question. Okay.
- 10:17Speaker 1: When I was in college, I went with to my buddies.
- 10:19Speaker 1: We backpacked through Europe and one of the things we
- 10:21Speaker 1: did is you have your home base and then we
- 10:24Speaker 1: go on these day trips. If one of my friends
- 10:26Speaker 1: were gonna go side quest, what are you talking about?
- 10:30Speaker 1: It's like, why are you making names? Is like, we
- 10:32Speaker 1: need names.
- 10:34Speaker 4: We're doing everything.
- 10:36Speaker 1: I guess, so well, thank you, Peyton Whitmore. He's Peyton's
- 10:41Speaker 1: segment music for John Jay and Rich on one O
- 10:44Speaker 1: four seven Kiss FM.
