Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Off the bench with Jacob Hester and Matt Flynn.
- 0:03Speaker 2: Hands to Hester, and Hester, yep, got it, five out
- 0:07Speaker 2: of five.
- 0:07Speaker 1: From carrying each other to a natty to carrying each
- 0:10Speaker 1: other on the air.
- 0:11Speaker 3: Flynn is back to throw for the end zone ball.
- 0:16Speaker 1: Live from the Raising Cane Studio, it's Off the Bench.
- 0:19Speaker 4: I can't stand it.
- 0:38Speaker 5: All right, welcome back in. OTB here. Hour number three
- 0:43Speaker 5: from the Raising Cane Studio. We're going to have our
- 0:45Speaker 5: guy Nick Underhill, New Orleans.football, join us here in a
- 0:49Speaker 5: couple of minutes to talk about, well, the latest New
- 0:52Speaker 5: Orleans Saints loss over in Paris to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Now,
- 0:57Speaker 5: a little bit of a reminder that they're going to
- 1:00Speaker 5: be off this week, so they can't lose. By week's
- 1:03Speaker 5: not very strong this year. And then they got the
- 1:05Speaker 5: Cleveland Browns. And the Carolina Panthers are going to be
- 1:08Speaker 5: at home before they go on the road to Chicago.
- 1:12Speaker 5: So that's what the next three games look like.
- 1:15Speaker 4: Biweek's not strong this year, huh? I like that one.
- 1:18Speaker 2: No.
- 1:18Speaker 5: Maybe giggle. Not strong this year. So we'll see. We'll
- 1:22Speaker 5: see how it goes. I mean, the schedule for the Saints,
- 1:24Speaker 5: I mean, let's just real quick while we're waiting on Nick.
- 1:27Speaker 5: I mean, you've got the Browns, who are 5-2. You've
- 1:30Speaker 5: got the Panthers that are atop your division. You have
- 1:32Speaker 5: the Bears winning record on the road, Bengals winning record
- 1:36Speaker 5: on the road. You've got the Green Bay Packers winning record.
- 1:38Speaker 5: You go to Carolina. You go to Tampa Bay, Arizona,
- 1:41Speaker 5: to Atlanta, and then Tampa Bay. So you have three
- 1:45Speaker 5: division games on the road in your last five games.
- 1:50Speaker 5: It doesn't get easier for the Saints. Now, still, having
- 1:52Speaker 5: those division games gives you a little bit of hope,
- 1:55Speaker 5: a small little bitty sliver of hope, but they haven't
- 1:59Speaker 5: shown us that they can be consistent. I mean, we
- 2:02Speaker 5: are– we're seven weeks into the season. Seven. Seven weeks.
- 2:08Speaker 5: And the Saints' leading rusher has 159 yards. You know
- 2:11Speaker 5: how bad that is? You know how hard that is
- 2:15Speaker 5: to do?
- 2:17Speaker 4: I mean, considering my running back only got six this
- 2:22Speaker 4: past week, that's pretty good.
- 2:23Speaker 3: That's a breakout game.
- 2:27Speaker 4: The other games must have been deep. Yeah, it's really
- 2:32Speaker 4: hard to do. It's really sad. Again, you said it yesterday.
- 2:36Speaker 4: We laid it out really good yesterday. Like a professional
- 2:38Speaker 4: football team with 17 rushes for 18 yards. Yeah. It's sad.
- 2:48Speaker 4: It's embarrassing is what it is. Alondra, how do you
- 2:54Speaker 4: think the Saints should fix that?
- 2:55Speaker 5: I don't know. I mean, let's ask Kellen.
- 2:59Speaker 6: We just got it. Really dig in and solve this thing.
- 3:03Speaker 4: Well, there you have it.
- 3:04Speaker 5: Riveting stuff. Solve it. Duh. Wait, but honestly, I do
- 3:07Speaker 5: want to play.
- 3:08Speaker 7: He does have like a full answer about the run game.
- 3:10Speaker 5: This is a full answer?
- 3:12Speaker 7: Full answer on the run game from Kellen Moore.
- 3:19Speaker 6: I think certainly that's an important aspect of this thing.
- 3:20Speaker 8: When you have a day like today, 17 runs for
- 3:24Speaker 8: 18 yards, it's going to be hard to win football
- 3:26Speaker 8: games doing that. And so, you know, while there are
- 3:28Speaker 8: some other things I think were real positive for our
- 3:30Speaker 8: football team, we weren't able to get that done.
- 3:33Speaker 4: Oh, okay. What was positive on the football team? Chase Young.
- 3:39Speaker 6: That's it.
- 3:39Speaker 5: Carl Granderson.
- 3:40Speaker 4: Yeah, defense had some standout performances or at least some
- 3:44Speaker 4: nice plays.
- 3:47Speaker 5: Some great tries. Some really good tries.
- 3:49Speaker 4: And a lot of bad tries on offense.
- 3:52Speaker 5: We got Nick up in here. A lot of bad tries.
- 3:53Speaker 4: A lot of bad tries.
- 3:56Speaker 5: All right. Well, you know, somebody that has to break
- 4:00Speaker 5: down this team every day and watch them run 17
- 4:03Speaker 5: times for 18 yards and have their leading rusher after
- 4:07Speaker 5: seven weeks have 150 total yards on the season. Nick Underhill,
- 4:11Speaker 5: New Orleans.Football, who joins us now. Nicholas, how are we doing, sir?
- 4:17Speaker 7: Doing good, doing good.
- 4:17Speaker 2: How are you guys doing?
- 4:18Speaker 5: You know, living the dream.
- 4:20Speaker 4: Ask us again. Ask us a simple question again.
- 4:21Speaker 2: How are you doing?
- 4:23Speaker 6: I think it's fair to say we've got to evaluate that.
- 4:27Speaker 4: Yeah. Yeah.
- 4:28Speaker 5: Yeah, Kellen Moore, I think it's fair to say we've
- 4:29Speaker 5: got to evaluate that.
- 4:30Speaker 4: We've got to evaluate how we're doing.
- 4:32Speaker 2: I don't know. It's another opportunity. It's another opportunity.
- 4:37Speaker 5: Man, Nick, I just, I don't know that I've ever
- 4:40Speaker 5: seen a rushing attack be be this poor. And look,
- 4:44Speaker 5: I know there's other teams like the Packers are just
- 4:46Speaker 5: horrible at running the football, but they're winning games and
- 4:48Speaker 5: they're finding a way you, you put so much time
- 4:52Speaker 5: and effort and resources into making the run game better.
- 4:55Speaker 5: And I know, you know, a chance not in there
- 4:57Speaker 5: right now, but you signed an interior offensive lineman. You've
- 4:59Speaker 5: got three first round picks on the line. The other
- 5:01Speaker 5: guy's a second round pick. He might be the best one.
- 5:04Speaker 5: And I know you got an injury now, but like
- 5:06Speaker 5: there's no excuse for the run game to be as
- 5:08Speaker 5: bad as it is.
- 5:10Speaker 9: No, I mean, like, it's really hard to gain, but
- 5:13Speaker 9: they have 12 yards on designed runs. Like, that's impossibly
- 5:17Speaker 9: hard to do. And look, man, like, David Edwards didn't
- 5:21Speaker 9: forget how to block. Tali Fuaga didn't forget.
- 5:24Speaker 2: How to block. You know, Eric McCoy isn't someone that.
- 5:30Speaker 9: To me, like when you have a trend of players
- 5:32Speaker 9: that are highly talented, not performing up to their level
- 5:35Speaker 9: of talent across the board, like not just the one situation,
- 5:38Speaker 9: but like five different situations, it kind of seems like.
- 5:42Speaker 2: A coaching issue maybe to me.
- 5:43Speaker 9: And I think they got things that they got to
- 5:45Speaker 9: figure out. Um, I was doing this thing yesterday and
- 5:49Speaker 9: going through it. I spent about two hours on it.
- 5:51Speaker 9: I had food poisoning. I was like, you know, throwing up,
- 5:55Speaker 9: looking stuff up in between.
- 5:56Speaker 2: And I found.
- 5:58Speaker 9: Like six trends that had like an 87.5% or higher rates.
- 6:03Speaker 9: of tipping run, like based on formation and where they
- 6:06Speaker 9: were lined up. There's one on first and second down
- 6:08Speaker 9: where they do this like inside-out motion with Juwan from
- 6:12Speaker 9: the slot where he goes out and then comes back in.
- 6:14Speaker 9: Every single time they do it, it's 100% run. There's
- 6:15Speaker 9: a Trey open formation where.
- 6:21Speaker 9: They've lined up in it 10 times now and they've
- 6:24Speaker 9: ran outside zone out of it nine times. Like it's
- 6:26Speaker 9: just stuff like this where there there's just like very
- 6:28Speaker 9: obvious tells on top of everything else. So I think,
- 6:31Speaker 9: I think it's a, a play calling issue. I think
- 6:34Speaker 9: it's a technique issue. I like with, with coaching. It's
- 6:38Speaker 9: just a lot of stuff, man. Like they just like
- 6:40Speaker 9: to be that bad there, there has to be multiple
- 6:42Speaker 9: layers of failure here.
- 6:44Speaker 2: And you know, I just think it's, I don't know. It's, it's,
- 6:46Speaker 2: it's tough to watch.
- 6:48Speaker 4: Nick, are you in London?
- 6:50Speaker 2: Yeah. I'm in London right now.
- 6:51Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 6:52Speaker 4: I thought he was the red phone booth behind you.
- 6:57Speaker 4: Good for you trying to hide. He's sneaky grizzled.
- 7:04Speaker 5: Are you just hanging out with me since the saints
- 7:06Speaker 5: play bi-week this week? You just hanging out.
- 7:08Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 7:08Speaker 2: I'm just here for like two days and I'm coming back.
- 7:10Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 7:11Speaker 4: Nice, good for us. So let's just, okay, let's be
- 7:13Speaker 4: a little, how was Paris? How, like, you were there
- 7:16Speaker 4: for multiple days. Now, of course, you're making a little
- 7:18Speaker 4: trip of this in London now. How was the overall,
- 7:22Speaker 4: I know there was a lot of, like, civil unrest
- 7:23Speaker 4: and all this stuff we heard about earlier in the week,
- 7:25Speaker 4: but how was the trip?
- 7:28Speaker 2: Yeah, it was cool.
- 7:28Speaker 9: I mean, like, I'm big on, you know, the NFL
- 7:31Speaker 9: being played in America. Like, that's a big thing for me. Like,
- 7:35Speaker 9: I just kind of feel like, you know, we could
- 7:37Speaker 9: all go down the street and just, you know, watch
- 7:39Speaker 9: a game down the street or whatever. But, you know,
- 7:41Speaker 9: once you get over here, I feel like it's pretty cool. Like,
- 7:44Speaker 9: you know, we're born into it and everything. And these guys, like...
- 7:47Speaker 9: Their fans like have chosen.
- 7:48Speaker 2: To love it.
- 7:49Speaker 9: And I think when you come over here, like it's
- 7:50Speaker 9: kind of reinvigorating and remind you of like why you
- 7:53Speaker 9: really like the game, like seeing it through like a
- 7:55Speaker 9: fresh set of eyes and a fresh atmosphere and just
- 7:57Speaker 9: like the over the top excitement for everything.
- 8:00Speaker 2: And I thought they put on a good game.
- 8:03Speaker 9: I thought the practice week was really well organized with
- 8:06Speaker 9: the logistics and everything, which other times in London, it
- 8:09Speaker 9: hasn't been as many huge pain in the ass.
- 8:11Speaker 2: Like it wasn't a pain in the ass this time.
- 8:12Speaker 5: Right.
- 8:14Speaker 9: You know, but I think from the Saints point of view,
- 8:20Speaker 9: I get that they really want to be the Paris
- 8:21Speaker 9: team and everything in its territory.
- 8:23Speaker 2: And I get that they want to campaign for it
- 8:25Speaker 2: and be a team that comes over.
- 8:26Speaker 4: Here all the time.
- 8:27Speaker 9: But I really think that this organization needs to focus
- 8:30Speaker 9: on making sure that they have home fans at their
- 8:32Speaker 9: home games, which has been an issue. Before you worry
- 8:36Speaker 9: about filling out the Paris stadium every year, every two years.
- 8:39Speaker 9: Like just make sure you can, you know, not have
- 8:41Speaker 9: Cleveland fans take over the superdome on Sunday.
- 8:43Speaker 2: Like that should be there.
- 8:44Speaker 9: My main priority is, is an organization, but you know,
- 8:47Speaker 9: I thought it was cool over here.
- 8:48Speaker 2: It was a good week.
- 8:50Speaker 9: You know, a lot of, a lot of fans, like,
- 8:52Speaker 9: I think there's a lot of, a lot of natural
- 8:55Speaker 9: crossover and everything. So, yeah, I mean, it was cool,
- 8:57Speaker 9: but like, I'd rather just, you know, play the, play
- 8:59Speaker 9: the home games at home.
- 9:00Speaker 4: Speaker 3 4 0 1 0. There's a lot of
- 9:05Speaker 4: people in New Orleans that cover the Saints, right? They're
- 9:08Speaker 4: beat writers. They're people that cover the Saints. And everybody,
- 9:11Speaker 4: there's not a lot of positive to write about. Now,
- 9:13Speaker 4: there's a lot of glaring things that need to change.
- 9:19Speaker 4: From a media perspective in New Orleans, covering the Saints,
- 9:24Speaker 4: you have access to the Saints. You want to keep
- 9:27Speaker 4: a certain rapport with the teams. With the organization. Cause
- 9:31Speaker 4: you want to, you want to maintain access. You want
- 9:33Speaker 4: to maintain a good relationship. What point with a lot
- 9:37Speaker 4: of local media, do gloves kind of have to come
- 9:39Speaker 4: off when it comes about people running and the decisions,
- 9:43Speaker 4: this isn't makers over there. And there's a balance, right?
- 9:46Speaker 4: Cause you got to keep a good relationship, but you
- 9:48Speaker 4: also have to be truthful about what's going on. You
- 9:50Speaker 4: can't keep overlooking things. And I feel like it's been
- 9:53Speaker 4: overlooked for a long time.
- 9:55Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 9:56Speaker 9: I think, I think like I'm at the point where
- 9:57Speaker 9: I don't really care anymore. And I mean, I think that,
- 10:00Speaker 9: there's you know obviously an element of like you do
- 10:02Speaker 9: it respectfully you know you're not just going to be
- 10:04Speaker 9: like this guy's an idiot but like you're going to
- 10:06Speaker 9: do a breakdown of like why everything's broken and you
- 10:09Speaker 9: know kind of lay it out like that and you
- 10:11Speaker 9: know I think I think To your question, and I
- 10:14Speaker 9: know you're not saying this, but I know similarly, you
- 10:18Speaker 9: hear this stuff.
- 10:18Speaker 2: From fans all the time. They're like, oh, well, you
- 10:19Speaker 2: didn't ask this question. It's like, well, I did ask
- 10:21Speaker 2: a question.
- 10:21Speaker 9: I just didn't ask it in a way that's like,
- 10:23Speaker 9: you dumbass, why'd you do this? They want an accusation
- 10:27Speaker 9: more than a question. All the questions get asked and everything,
- 10:30Speaker 9: but definitely I would say the tenor and the tone
- 10:33Speaker 9: of our coverage you know, I just think it's reached
- 10:37Speaker 9: a point where that kind of being political would cost
- 10:41Speaker 9: you way more than just, you know, you just got
- 10:44Speaker 9: to go at it.
- 10:44Speaker 2: It's bad. Like it's terrible.
- 10:46Speaker 9: And, you know, it's six years of this. And if
- 10:49Speaker 9: this doesn't work, this has to be it. Like you
- 10:51Speaker 9: don't get three chances to do it. You don't get
- 10:53Speaker 9: a decade to rebuild a team. You've gotten six, like
- 10:56Speaker 9: you've gotten six years of it. And, it has to work.
- 10:59Speaker 9: Like it's, it's all tied in together and it's just,
- 11:02Speaker 9: we all know what we're looking at. Like we're at
- 11:04Speaker 9: a point now where, and look, I think, I think
- 11:06Speaker 9: Kellen Moore could still go and figure some stuff out.
- 11:08Speaker 9: Like I'm not writing off the possibility of him finding
- 11:11Speaker 9: answers to some of the problems that they have, but
- 11:13Speaker 9: like we're at a point now where you're watching this
- 11:15Speaker 9: stuff and you don't have to do deep research to
- 11:17Speaker 9: see why the coaching is bad.
- 11:18Speaker 2: Like, it's just kind of in your face. Like, you
- 11:20Speaker 2: see it. It's obvious.
- 11:22Speaker 9: It isn't like, oh, my God, there's this, like, horrible
- 11:24Speaker 9: trend with the thing, and I got to spend, like, hours.
- 11:26Speaker 2: Breaking it down.
- 11:27Speaker 9: Like, it's, like, just so obvious, and you can kind
- 11:29Speaker 9: of throw a dart and hit on a bunch of
- 11:30Speaker 9: different spots. And, you know, likewise with the team building. Like,
- 11:34Speaker 9: the draft list speaks for itself. The free agent signing
- 11:37Speaker 9: list speaks for itself. You know, I think the defense
- 11:39Speaker 9: is well organized. They just don't have players to make plays. Like,
- 11:42Speaker 9: you got, you know, a street free agent from Indianapolis
- 11:46Speaker 9: who– got cut playing. What was it?
- 11:49Speaker 2: 48 snaps in the last game.
- 11:50Speaker 9: And then you're like, well, why are they getting gutted
- 11:52Speaker 9: by the run? Well, because they got freaking Colby. Wouldn't
- 11:55Speaker 9: like starting the game and playing the majority of the stops.
- 11:57Speaker 9: And you know, that's a failure of personnel on top
- 12:00Speaker 9: of that. And like, I know you got some injuries
- 12:01Speaker 9: and everything, but like, man, Christian Miller, your second round pick,
- 12:05Speaker 9: like should be doing that job at a high level,
- 12:06Speaker 9: like the 40th pick in the draft.
- 12:08Speaker 2: He's not doing it.
- 12:09Speaker 9: So, I mean, I just think the stuff kind of
- 12:11Speaker 9: speaks for itself. Um, you know, I think if you
- 12:13Speaker 9: just keep it about the football and you don't make
- 12:15Speaker 9: it personal, like, you know, I don't think you can
- 12:17Speaker 9: really go wrong with that. Um, Cause you know, the
- 12:20Speaker 9: main thing is for me, like I don't really care
- 12:22Speaker 9: about like the access or whatever, like no one's taking
- 12:24Speaker 9: your credential. It's just, can I look you in the
- 12:26Speaker 9: eye and am I going to be able to say
- 12:27Speaker 9: the same stuff to your face? And like, I have
- 12:29Speaker 9: no problem like saying that, Hey, look like the draft,
- 12:31Speaker 9: like I don't think you guys have drafted. Well, like
- 12:33Speaker 9: I have no problem saying that stuff. So like I'll,
- 12:34Speaker 9: I'll cover it that way. That's always been my barometer. Like,
- 12:37Speaker 9: are we covering this? And then when you step to me,
- 12:39Speaker 9: do I feel like I can't look you in the eye?
- 12:41Speaker 9: And if I can't look you in the eye, then
- 12:43Speaker 9: I've probably made it too personal. But if you don't like,
- 12:46Speaker 9: you know, I think it's generally always okay.
- 12:48Speaker 2: And you know, the truth is the truth. Like the
- 12:50Speaker 2: owner called these people out.
- 12:51Speaker 9: Like, so it isn't about like what I'm saying, like
- 12:54Speaker 9: they're already saying it in the building. So, so I mean, yeah,
- 12:57Speaker 9: I mean, but, but like, you know, I just think
- 13:01Speaker 9: we've reached a point, you know, to sum that up,
- 13:03Speaker 9: I just think we've reached a point where it's just,
- 13:04Speaker 9: it's just beyond obvious, like what it actually is.
- 13:08Speaker 5: All right, Nick, last one before we let you go.
- 13:09Speaker 5: We do appreciate you joining us literally from London. Is
- 13:13Speaker 5: there anything of value to take right now from the saints? Like,
- 13:17Speaker 5: is there anything that you'd like to point out to say, Hey,
- 13:20Speaker 5: this is actually going in the right direction because right
- 13:23Speaker 5: now when we talk saints, it's all negative. And look,
- 13:26Speaker 5: a lot of it should be because of how they're
- 13:27Speaker 5: playing right now. Is there anything that stands out to
- 13:30Speaker 5: you in a positive way?
- 13:32Speaker 2: I still think crystal lobby is really good.
- 13:34Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 13:35Speaker 9: Um, Jawan Johnson's not getting targets for that. That's kind
- 13:38Speaker 9: of went away. Offensive line isn't working well. I think
- 13:41Speaker 9: Tyler Shucks playing fine, given what's going on around him.
- 13:45Speaker 2: Offensive line.
- 13:46Speaker 9: Oh, Chase Young, seven sacks, probably going to lead the
- 13:48Speaker 9: league in sacks maybe. So, I mean, I think that's
- 13:51Speaker 9: heading in the right direction, but outside of that, not really, man.
- 13:54Speaker 9: I thought Kool-Aid played a good game this week. I
- 13:55Speaker 9: know he gave up the touchdown to the tight end,
- 13:58Speaker 9: but like, I don't know what he's supposed to do there.
- 14:00Speaker 9: Chris and Chase, Chris and Chase, man. Like those are
- 14:04Speaker 9: really the two things. Um, Outside of that, it's tough.
- 14:07Speaker 9: It's tough to find bright spots right now.
- 14:11Speaker 5: All right. There he is, our guy, Nick Underhill of
- 14:13Speaker 5: New Orleans football. Joining us from London, Nick, we appreciate
- 14:16Speaker 5: the time, brother. Safe travels back home. And we'll catch
- 14:20Speaker 5: up again with you next week.
- 14:21Speaker 2: All right, guys, take it easy.
- 14:23Speaker 4: Thanks, Nick. Hopefully he's enjoying a pint or two.
- 14:27Speaker 5: Yeah, you're going to need more than that to watch
- 14:29Speaker 5: the Saints. All right, we'll take a break. More OTB
- 14:32Speaker 5: when we come back here live from the Raising Cane Studio.
- 14:34Speaker 2: Off the bench.
- 14:36Speaker 5: All right, go to TrashRangers.com. TrashRangers.com, residential commercial trash pickup
- 14:41Speaker 5: service here in the area. And if you're lucky enough

- 16:24Speaker 1: Off the Bench with Jacob Hester and Matt Flynn, presented
- 16:28Speaker 1: by Community Steel.
- 16:42Speaker 5: Does anybody feel better about the New Orleans Saints after
- 16:44Speaker 5: talking with Nick Underhill?
- 16:45Speaker 4: I do. I feel a lot better.
- 16:47Speaker 5: No.
- 16:48Speaker 4: The phone booth did it for me. He told me
- 16:49Speaker 4: a lot of it was good.
- 16:52Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 16:52Speaker 4: Cool. It's cool. Are the guardian caps getting out of control?
- 16:59Speaker 3: Dude, I've seen linemen in college now wearing them, which
- 17:03Speaker 3: I haven't seen before.
- 17:04Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 17:06Speaker 4: I'm all for player safety. I'm all for brain health,
- 17:08Speaker 4: of course. I want people to be safe. But, man.
- 17:14Speaker 4: Even like with the alternate uniforms, like the Texans wore
- 17:17Speaker 4: those really cool uniforms, I thought, this past weekend with
- 17:20Speaker 4: the shiny. I thought the shiny helmets were cool. My opinion.
- 17:23Speaker 5: Are you talking about the AFL ones they wore?
- 17:25Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 17:26Speaker 5: The Arena Football League? Those all red ones?
- 17:29Speaker 4: I don't know. They had a shiny helmet. But, of course,
- 17:32Speaker 4: the guy with the guardia cap didn't.
- 17:33Speaker 5: That's true. I didn't think about that portion.
- 17:38Speaker 4: I was like, man, I don't know. Why is it mine, Shawty?
- 17:42Speaker 4: I can understand, like, I guess receivers, running backs, maybe
- 17:48Speaker 4: something like that. But interior linemen's a tough look for
- 17:52Speaker 4: me for this. I can't think of who it is.
- 17:54Speaker 4: There's a decent amount of them now, and maybe they work.
- 17:57Speaker 4: Maybe there's a statistical data. I'm sure there is. But
- 18:00Speaker 4: there's not a lot of full-speed helmet-to-helmet contact in the trenches, right?
- 18:06Speaker 4: Because it's pretty close combat. A lot of hand fighting.
- 18:10Speaker 4: Of course, you're hitting your head a lot, but it's...
- 18:12Speaker 4: Like running backs, receivers, they're running full speed at each other, right,
- 18:15Speaker 4: and diving, and I get it, and it's getting hit
- 18:17Speaker 4: on the ground a lot. I mean, linemen's heads aren't
- 18:20Speaker 4: whipping on the ground a lot. I don't know. It
- 18:21Speaker 4: is a sensitive subject. Maybe I shouldn't bring it up.
- 18:23Speaker 4: But aesthetically. Do you think I'm going to be, yeah,
- 18:27Speaker 4: guardian cat, come on. Aesthetically speaking, not a great look
- 18:31Speaker 4: for the game.
- 18:37Speaker 5: I actually get it more like if you're wearing flag football.
- 18:40Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 18:41Speaker 5: I get that. I can see that.
- 18:42Speaker 4: Yeah. For sure.
- 18:43Speaker 5: But I just don't know. I mean, I don't know
- 18:44Speaker 5: if that on top of your helmet is really going to.
- 18:47Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 18:50Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 18:51Speaker 5: To each their own. And I would have definitely chosen
- 18:53Speaker 5: not to do it.
- 18:56Speaker 4: Does David Tyree make the catch on his helmet with
- 18:59Speaker 4: a guardian? They got this padding. They kind of got
- 19:04Speaker 4: some rips. It kind of depends on what part of
- 19:06Speaker 4: the pad it is. Like if it's the down slope.
- 19:08Speaker 4: definitely not no.
- 19:09Speaker 3: Because the cloth will be slippery but if he hits
- 19:11Speaker 3: the top with the padding it actually could help.
- 19:13Speaker 5: Can you imagine how big our guardian caps would have
- 19:16Speaker 5: looked with our heads.
- 19:17Speaker 4: Oh my god dude yeah like the no i know
- 19:21Speaker 4: they secure them down with bolts and stuff and screws
- 19:23Speaker 4: on the side but they still gotta slide a little
- 19:26Speaker 4: bit right like that would be so annoying to me
- 19:29Speaker 4: like to hit somebody or to like like my head
- 19:32Speaker 4: to get touched and the pad shifts like back and forth,
- 19:35Speaker 4: even if it's like an eighth of an inch. Like
- 19:37Speaker 4: just any movement on the outside of my helmet would
- 19:39Speaker 4: be very annoying. Anyway, stay safe out there. But aesthetically, ugh, it's...
- 19:50Speaker 4: kind of boo-boo. Okay, I'm just going to say it.
- 19:54Speaker 4: I don't like it.
- 19:55Speaker 8: I just.
- 19:59Speaker 4: Don't like it.
- 20:00Speaker 5: You were tap dancing around.
- 20:01Speaker 2: I just don't like it.
- 20:02Speaker 4: I think it's ugly.
- 20:04Speaker 5: Like LSU Yeti, our guy Scott and Chad, give me
- 20:07Speaker 5: all the CTE. I know what I signed up for,
- 20:09Speaker 5: and I'd do it all again. That's what it is.
- 20:16Speaker 5: That's why I like being on kickoff and kickoff return.
- 20:19Speaker 5: I wanted to get that hit in the first play
- 20:20Speaker 5: of the game, kind of get in it.
- 20:22Speaker 2: Yep.
- 20:22Speaker 5: All right, let me go down there as the L5.
- 20:26Speaker 5: I'm going to hit somebody. It's going to hurt a
- 20:28Speaker 5: little bit. It's going to twitch a little bit, but
- 20:30Speaker 5: I'm going to be ready to play.
- 20:31Speaker 4: Did it make you feel alive?
- 20:33Speaker 5: Hell, yeah, it did.
- 20:33Speaker 4: A little bit.
- 20:37Speaker 6: Mm-hmm.
- 20:41Speaker 5: Just our two cents.
- 20:46Speaker 4: We should do the research. We should ask if it works.
- 20:48Speaker 4: I think we've asked Doc about it before.
- 20:50Speaker 5: Have we?
- 20:51Speaker 4: We should do it again. And I think he said
- 20:53Speaker 4: there are studies, but there's not studies. We're going to
- 20:56Speaker 4: find out tomorrow.
- 20:57Speaker 5: Best player to wear a Guardian cap? Chris DeLave.
- 21:01Speaker 4: Yeah. Yeah.
- 21:02Speaker 6: I mean.
- 21:03Speaker 4: It's not much of a sample size. Yeah, kind of
- 21:04Speaker 4: by far. I mean, it's a big sample size now.
- 21:07Speaker 5: It's starting to get big.
- 21:09Speaker 4: My God. Like, you can't wear a guarding cap and
- 21:15Speaker 4: start a fight in the bottom of a pile.
- 21:17Speaker 5: No.
- 21:17Speaker 4: That's the thing. Like, there's only so much weight that
- 21:20Speaker 4: your trash talk.
- 21:21Speaker 5: Carries with one. Yeah. Speaking of, like, habitual line crossers
- 21:26Speaker 5: under a pile, I don't know if you saw Brandon
- 21:29Speaker 5: Spikes was on Busting with the Boys.
- 21:31Speaker 1: Uh-huh.
- 21:32Speaker 5: And he called Incognito out about something, like a story
- 21:35Speaker 5: or whatever. And I don't know if you ever played
- 21:38Speaker 5: with Rich.
- 21:39Speaker 4: I know. I know of him.
- 21:40Speaker 5: Oh, you know him. I've heard stories.
- 21:41Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 21:42Speaker 5: Rich commented back about the story because he's just not
- 21:45Speaker 5: going to let that slide. It's been kind of fun
- 21:47Speaker 5: back and forth to see those guys.
- 21:48Speaker 4: I like it.
- 21:49Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 21:51Speaker 4: That's on the socials?
- 21:52Speaker 5: I'll tell you this, though. Richie, and I didn't play
- 21:54Speaker 5: with him, but we worked out in Arizona together, so
- 21:57Speaker 5: I got to know him a little bit. He's not
- 22:00Speaker 5: like what you'd call a fake tough guy. You know,
- 22:03Speaker 5: he's like one of those real tough guys. He wouldn't
- 22:06Speaker 5: wear a guardian cap. I can promise you that. So
- 22:09Speaker 5: it's kind of been fun. Yeah, it's kind of fun.
- 22:10Speaker 4: I knew a lot of people that played with Rich,
- 22:12Speaker 4: and he was very well liked. Oh, loved him. Yeah.
- 22:15Speaker 5: Yeah, he was great. He'd tell great stories.
- 22:18Speaker 4: Had an experience, had a moment.
- 22:19Speaker 5: Yeah. Well. But he will.
- 22:23Speaker 4: Multiple? No, I'm saying you look into that a little bit. Oh, yeah.
- 22:27Speaker 4: There's some inconsistencies.
- 22:31Speaker 6: Right.
- 22:31Speaker 4: I guess that's what I was looking for. Yeah, no.
- 22:34Speaker 4: There's some real tough guys out there. There's some fake
- 22:37Speaker 4: tough guys.
- 22:38Speaker 5: Oh, God.
- 22:38Speaker 4: And sometimes if you're not. You got to fake it
- 22:40Speaker 4: till you make it, I guess.
- 22:41Speaker 5: I hate, like, fake tough guys is, it's the worst thing.
- 22:44Speaker 5: It's the worst thing you can be. Worst thing you
- 22:46Speaker 5: can be on a football. I hate it. Hate it.
- 22:49Speaker 4: It's just like anything in life. I can't. If you
- 22:52Speaker 4: fake anything, everybody can pick it out. Everybody knows if
- 22:55Speaker 4: you're being fake. And fake tough guy is the easiest
- 22:59Speaker 4: thing to pick out. I'm not saying I'm a big
- 23:01Speaker 4: tough guy. I wasn't fake tough guy.
- 23:08Speaker 5: Huff said T-Ball would have worn two Guardian caps.
- 23:13Speaker 4: Hell yeah.
- 23:14Speaker 7: They also said they can't remember if they've asked about
- 23:16Speaker 7: the Guardian cap.
- 23:17Speaker 4: That's a good point.
- 23:18Speaker 5: The jokes by themselves. Touche. Touche. Brandon Spike's a tough guy.
- 23:26Speaker 4: Let's ask Kellen if we should wear Guardian caps.
- 23:29Speaker 5: All right, let's see.
- 23:30Speaker 4: Kellen, should we wear them?
- 23:31Speaker 6: It's fair to say we've got to evaluate that.
- 23:34Speaker 4: Ah, basically what you just said. We've got to evaluate it.
- 23:41Speaker 4: That might be one of my favorite drops. We got
- 23:44Speaker 4: to find some more. We can find some probably.
- 23:46Speaker 5: Just really good ones.
- 23:47Speaker 4: I haven't looked at more, but I'm sure I have. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 23:55Speaker 4: In the chat, they've asked Doc about Guardian Cap every
- 23:58Speaker 4: week for over a month and can't even remember.
- 24:00Speaker 7: Some real Guardian Cap advertising right now.
- 24:07Speaker 5: My dad, even like in the... the pros would have
- 24:10Speaker 5: whistled at me to get my attention and be like, hey.
- 24:13Speaker 5: He would have pointed to my head.
- 24:16Speaker 4: Get out of here. I would say the guarding cap's
- 24:20Speaker 4: kind of like a sliding glove for baseball.
- 24:23Speaker 6: It is.
- 24:23Speaker 4: It's the same thing.
- 24:24Speaker 8: It is.
- 24:25Speaker 4: It's the same thing. It's a beta thing to wear.
- 24:28Speaker 7: I would argue that the sliding glove is more beta than.
- 24:32Speaker 4: The guarding cap. I would say because I don't think
- 24:33Speaker 4: it was a problem. I don't think breaking fingers in
- 24:36Speaker 4: the bag was that big of a widespread of a problem.
- 24:38Speaker 4: It was more like getting... I don't think getting cleated
- 24:42Speaker 4: was that widespread of a problem.
- 24:44Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 24:45Speaker 4: It happens. Sure, it happens. Just like anything. What?
- 24:53Speaker 5: It's wild. I did want to remind you about Louisiana
- 24:59Speaker 5: Card Con coming up on October the 31st through November
- 25:03Speaker 5: the 1st, so coming up this weekend. It's going to
- 25:06Speaker 5: be two days there. 300 tables of cards, collectibles. They're
- 25:09Speaker 5: in Mandeville, Louisiana. Pierre Thomas is going to be signing
- 25:14Speaker 5: free autographs there. Trigger treat stations for kids on Saturday.
- 25:18Speaker 5: You got candy. You got cards. Squishies, which obviously.
- 25:21Speaker 9: Butter.
- 25:22Speaker 5: Probably.
- 25:23Speaker 4: Probably. All the colors.
- 25:24Speaker 5: Which Flynn and I know way too much about. $ 5.
- 25:27Speaker 5: That's it. $ 5 to get in, and you're going to
- 25:29Speaker 5: get a Pierre Thomas autograph with $ 5 getting you in. LouisianaCardCon.com. LouisianaCardCon.com. Again,
- 25:37Speaker 5: coming up this weekend in Mandeville. Check it out. They
- 25:41Speaker 5: use the gloves. I actually might.
- 25:46Speaker 4: My son was asking recently when the next card show was.
- 25:49Speaker 5: The one in Mandeville is big. It's a big boy.
- 25:52Speaker 5: It's a big one. It's usually got a lot of
- 25:54Speaker 5: really good vendors and some expensive cards. And you could
- 25:57Speaker 5: probably buy a Bryce Young card that another guy sold
- 25:59Speaker 5: at a light show.
- 26:00Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 26:00Speaker 4: I was about to say, Matt, are you going to
- 26:02Speaker 4: bring your Bryce Young card that.
- 26:03Speaker 6: You don't have?
- 26:04Speaker 4: Whatever, guys. I just came across something, Taylor. I thought you'd.
- 26:11Speaker 4: Thought you'd like that. We always talk highly about Troy
- 26:13Speaker 4: Aikman and his announcement. We're a big Troy Aikman fan.
- 26:15Speaker 4: Did you hear? So after the game yesterday, Scott Van
- 26:18Speaker 4: Pelt asked Troy, because they won. It was a big game.
- 26:22Speaker 4: And they said, hey, Troy, does after tonight's win, does
- 26:26Speaker 4: it change the way you see the Cowboys? Troy was like, eh, no,
- 26:31Speaker 4: not really. I don't mean it as a negative. This
- 26:34Speaker 4: is a pretty beat up Philadelphia team. He's like, let's
- 26:36Speaker 4: not get carried away, Scott. Shout out to Troy, man.
- 26:39Speaker 5: See, Troy.
- 26:40Speaker 4: Troy's been a fan for a long time.
- 26:42Speaker 5: Troy's a real one.
- 26:43Speaker 4: Troy knows what's going on. Troy knows the deal.
- 26:45Speaker 5: He's also, like, real in the booth. I've said it.
- 26:49Speaker 5: I cannot stand when somebody, like, blatantly in front of
- 26:52Speaker 5: your face happens as an announcer, and they just, we're
- 26:55Speaker 5: just not going to act like that happened. I'm like,
- 26:57Speaker 5: what are you talking about? You've got to call that out.
- 27:00Speaker 4: I will say that. That division is so bad that, I.
- 27:04Speaker 6: Mean, that's.
- 27:06Speaker 4: Washington's banged up. Philly's banged up.
- 27:07Speaker 5: The Giants got nine now, bud. You're done.
- 27:09Speaker 1: J.J.
- 27:09Speaker 4: McCarthy is going to lead his team to the playoffs.
- 27:11Speaker 4: That's the team to beat. Yeah, that's the team to beat.
- 27:14Speaker 4: That's how bad they are.
- 27:15Speaker 5: He played good, though.
- 27:16Speaker 4: He did play good. Dallas takes down the Giants.
- 27:20Speaker 3: They're not good, but they could actually win that division.
- 27:23Speaker 3: At three and four, they're at second place.
- 27:29Speaker 5: There's some really bad divisions out there. AFC South, NFC South,
- 27:34Speaker 5: NFC East.
- 27:39Speaker 4: Hey, did y'all see the– I saw this last night.
- 27:41Speaker 4: I was not aware of it happening until last night.
- 27:46Speaker 4: The news about Pat McAfee and Utah?
- 27:49Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 27:50Speaker 4: That's pretty wild, right? I tuned into game day a
- 27:51Speaker 4: little bit. I think we had– I tuned in during
- 27:54Speaker 4: the kick, and I didn't even mention that. Yeah, and
- 27:56Speaker 4: I knew that girl was like, oh, well, BYU got this.
- 27:59Speaker 3: And Pat's like, all right, well, we're going to lower
- 28:01Speaker 3: the price now. Kind of poking fun, but apparently it
- 28:04Speaker 3: was more than that.
- 28:05Speaker 4: It was like– The whole university, like apparently– They go
- 28:08Speaker 4: to– they have game day at Utah. And, like, apparently
- 28:12Speaker 4: their university sent a video the morning of before they
- 28:16Speaker 4: go on the show. And it's talking about, you know,
- 28:19Speaker 4: welcome to game day. But it's people, like, making fun
- 28:21Speaker 4: of Pat. Yeah, and it was, like, their official university.
- 28:23Speaker 4: Their official university.
- 28:24Speaker 5: I hadn't seen it.
- 28:25Speaker 4: And Pat was, like– so he talks about it on
- 28:27Speaker 4: the show. And yesterday during the show he goes on
- 28:29Speaker 4: and he's, like, I had it. He's, like, Utah was terrible.
- 28:32Speaker 4: And he basically said it was an unenjoyable– like, they
- 28:34Speaker 4: were terrible. They were brilliant. kind of poopooed all over it.
- 28:38Speaker 4: And he talks about like the, the girl that got
- 28:40Speaker 4: picked to do the field goal. He's like, it's a
- 28:42Speaker 4: kick for a million dollars. Like I'm giving her a
- 28:44Speaker 4: million dollars of my money. And she gets up there
- 28:46Speaker 4: and says, the person last week, we got 3 million.
- 28:49Speaker 4: Like he's a, he was visibly annoyed during the field
- 28:52Speaker 4: goal kick during game day. Like I was, that was
- 28:54Speaker 4: one part of game day. I watched this past weekend.
- 28:56Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 28:56Speaker 4: And I was like, wow, he's actually like super annoyed.
- 28:58Speaker 4: And like, he should be hissed about it. Like she
- 29:01Speaker 4: was very, I guess like, very ungrateful, but anyway, he
- 29:05Speaker 4: was very annoyed and he called Utah, the university of
- 29:07Speaker 4: Utah out and the Utah since has responded and apologized
- 29:11Speaker 4: and all this stuff.
- 29:11Speaker 5: So I missed all that.
- 29:13Speaker 4: Uh, various, a lot of, a lot of drama. And
- 29:15Speaker 4: it was, it's kind of, it is. And again, to like,
- 29:17Speaker 4: to the point of like Troy, it's refreshing to see
- 29:19Speaker 4: Troy call. It's kind of refreshing to see someone like Pat.
- 29:23Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 29:23Speaker 4: He's got a big platform. You don't want them to
- 29:25Speaker 4: use it in a bad way, but he's, what he
- 29:30Speaker 4: said was like, I'm about to go in there and
- 29:31Speaker 4: do a three-hour infomercial for your university you poo-pooed oh
- 29:36Speaker 4: yeah it's like it was very uncomfortable.
- 29:38Speaker 5: Yeah and i don't you know i don't know how
- 29:41Speaker 5: y'all feel about pat i'm just telling you from my
- 29:43Speaker 5: experience i love pat great human i mean always makes
- 29:47Speaker 5: it a point to stop and talk to me and
- 29:50Speaker 5: uh incredibly friendly i.
- 29:51Speaker 7: Mean i enjoy his show I don't.
- 29:54Speaker 5: Get a chance to watch it. I don't get a
- 29:56Speaker 5: chance to watch it, but the times I have, I do.
- 29:57Speaker 7: I know right now, for some reason, people are hating
- 30:00Speaker 7: on him on the internet, but I really like Pat McAfee.
- 30:04Speaker 5: I like that, too.
- 30:05Speaker 4: The internet's wild. Yeah, I do, too. I'll put it on.
- 30:08Speaker 4: That's my background noise at the office. For sure.
- 30:12Speaker 7: You should tell AJ to tell him to hit me up.
- 30:15Speaker 5: To hire me.
- 30:16Speaker 4: You looking? I'm not looking.
- 30:19Speaker 5: No, no, no. You're like, Pat's married.
- 30:22Speaker 4: He's also not my type. Kicker.
- 30:27Speaker 5: Yeah, not my type. Yeah, punter. Not a kicker either.
- 30:30Speaker 2: He was in college, though.
- 30:31Speaker 4: He kicks the ball.
- 30:32Speaker 5: He was a kicker in college.
- 30:34Speaker 4: He kicked a little bit in the pros when he
- 30:36Speaker 4: needed to.
- 30:37Speaker 5: Kicked off.
- 30:37Speaker 4: After injury, for sure.
- 30:38Speaker 5: All right, we'll take a break. More OTB when we
- 30:41Speaker 5: come back here live from the Raising Cane Studio.
- 30:44Speaker 4: Off the Bench.
- 30:45Speaker 5: All right, go to GCOPnet.com, Gulf Coast Office Products. You're
- 30:49Speaker 5: on Question Leader and all things office, technology solutions, and
- 30:53Speaker 5: customer service. If you're looking online right now and you're
- 30:58Speaker 5: not in the area, because they have four locations throughout Louisiana,
- 31:01Speaker 5: New Orleans, Baton Rouge, North Shore, Lafayette, and you're wondering,
- 31:03Speaker 5: can I get that equipment? If you're up in, let's say, Monroe,
- 31:06Speaker 5: you can. You just go to the website. You're going
- 31:07Speaker 5: to get that same incredible customer service that you would
- 31:10Speaker 5: get in one of their locations. They are throughout the
- 31:13Speaker 5: state of Louisiana. That's why the Pelicans, the Saints, the Tigers,
- 31:16Speaker 5: the Raging Cajuns all trust our friends over at GCOP. GCOPnet.com.
- 31:21Speaker 4: Gold Coast Office Products, Louisiana's leading copier printer source. And look,
- 31:24Speaker 4: they're a Louisiana company, but they are shipping technology. They're
- 31:27Speaker 4: shipping copiers and printers all over the country. But they
- 31:31Speaker 4: are a Louisiana company for locations throughout the state. So, like,
- 31:36Speaker 4: if you have an office, if you run a business,
- 31:38Speaker 4: if you If you are an office manager, make sure

- 31:51Speaker 1: Off the Bench with Jacob Hester and Matt Flynn, presented
- 31:55Speaker 1: by Community Steel.
- 32:06Speaker 5: We are young. All right, welcome back in OTB. I
- 32:25Speaker 5: want to remind you about our friends over at Bayou Automotive. BayouAutomotive.com
- 32:28Speaker 5: is the website for Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram. Something
- 32:32Speaker 5: for everybody down in La Paz, Louisiana. A quick drive
- 32:34Speaker 5: down to La Paz. Get down there. Check out your
- 32:37Speaker 5: next vehicle. Now, remember, if you can't make it down
- 32:40Speaker 5: to La Paz, you're here in the capital city, that's okay.
- 32:43Speaker 5: They'll deliver your vehicle to you once you buy it
- 32:45Speaker 5: from bayouautomotive.com. And once you buy a vehicle from them,
- 32:48Speaker 5: if you need routine maintenance, they're going to pick your
- 32:51Speaker 5: vehicle up, give you a loaner, have the maintenance on
- 32:54Speaker 5: your vehicle, and then bring your vehicle back to you.
- 32:56Speaker 5: So technically, if you didn't want to, you didn't have
- 32:58Speaker 5: to leave the house. But if you did have to
- 32:59Speaker 5: leave the house, you'd have a loaner vehicle from Bayou Automotive. Again, Ford, Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep,
- 33:04Speaker 5: and also Ram. Something for everybody over at Bayou Automotive. BayouAutomotive.com.
- 33:19Speaker 4: Hey, how's the.
- 33:21Speaker 5: Go ahead.
- 33:21Speaker 4: I was just asking how the card game is going recently.
- 33:27Speaker 5: I got a Kags Black out of 10. What's that mean? Caglione.
- 33:36Speaker 5: You got another rip one? No.
- 33:39Speaker 4: I want to do that again.
- 33:39Speaker 5: I'm glad you do. Went from 350 to three.
- 33:45Speaker 4: Boo.
- 33:47Speaker 5: 350 to three.
- 33:47Speaker 4: I saw that.
- 33:48Speaker 7: Yeah, but you'll never hit the 350 if you don't
- 33:50Speaker 7: keep trying.
- 33:50Speaker 5: That's true. Royals. Played for Florida.
- 33:53Speaker 4: Yeah, Cags.
- 33:54Speaker 5: Rookie. Played really well. It's out of 10.
- 33:57Speaker 8: Auto.
- 33:59Speaker 5: And it's a tops cost, which is a baseball-like exclusive
- 34:02Speaker 5: kind of drop. Real artsy.
- 34:04Speaker 4: It tops what?
- 34:06Speaker 5: Cause.
- 34:06Speaker 6: K-A-W-S.
- 34:09Speaker 4: Cause.
- 34:10Speaker 5: Okay. Very expensive per box.
- 34:12Speaker 4: No big deal.
- 34:13Speaker 5: I hit it in a break. It's the biggest hit
- 34:15Speaker 5: that I've had.
- 34:16Speaker 4: Okay. Like, in that product? In a minute.
- 34:21Speaker 5: In a minute. No, I mean, I hit that one
- 34:22Speaker 5: of one. Ronald Acuna. Yeah. Headliner.
- 34:24Speaker 10: Super Fractor. But he didn't have the best year, so whatever.
- 34:31Speaker 10: I would say that Biggest hit you've ever had is
- 34:36Speaker 10: right now.
- 34:38Speaker 5: Oh! Let me see that puppy.
- 34:41Speaker 4: Present you with a Jacob Hester Rookie Tops Chrome. Number
- 34:45Speaker 4: to 25. Look at that puppy. Purchased it myself on electronicbay.com.
- 34:52Speaker 5: Look at that puppy.
- 34:52Speaker 4: And then I submitted this to PSA for grading myself
- 34:57Speaker 4: with my own two hands.
- 34:58Speaker 5: Look at that.
- 34:59Speaker 4: And guess what it got graded?
- 35:01Speaker 5: Oh, it got a 10.
- 35:02Speaker 4: That's a Jim Mint 10 right there, people.
- 35:04Speaker 6: Dang.
- 35:05Speaker 4: Graded to Jacob Husser, rookie card, red parallel to 25.
- 35:11Speaker 4: Graded that bad boy to a 10. Heck yeah, brother.
- 35:13Speaker 4: And it's a population one.
- 35:15Speaker 5: It's the only one? Only one.
- 35:18Speaker 4: Wow. In the whole wide world.
- 35:19Speaker 5: That's pretty cool, bud. Thank you, sir.
- 35:21Speaker 4: You're welcome. So I gave that to you live. It's
- 35:24Speaker 4: your birthday. I gave you a PSA 9 that I purchased.
- 35:26Speaker 4: I purchased the slab. This is early in our career.
- 35:29Speaker 4: And I didn't really understand the significance of that card
- 35:32Speaker 4: out of 25, how hard those are to find in
- 35:35Speaker 4: the wild. I have one of me I found. It's
- 35:38Speaker 4: not in great shape. It's not getting anywhere close to
- 35:40Speaker 4: 10 if I graded it. I found a 10 of myself.
- 35:45Speaker 4: So it's a guy, a Green Bay fan, and I
- 35:47Speaker 4: bought him tickets to a game last year. I bought
- 35:49Speaker 4: him tickets to a Packer Eagles game last year in
- 35:53Speaker 4: exchange for the card, which I got graded to a 9,
- 35:56Speaker 4: which was awesome. I mean, it might be an eight, actually.
- 35:58Speaker 4: It's an autograph one. That feels like too deep of
- 36:01Speaker 4: a shot there, bud. I found that one, and yeah,
- 36:04Speaker 4: I was in good shape when I got it. I
- 36:05Speaker 4: was like, you know what? I'm going to submit this one.
- 36:07Speaker 5: I appreciate that.
- 36:08Speaker 4: I know he's got a nine, but I think this
- 36:10Speaker 4: could get a ten.
- 36:11Speaker 6: And it did.
- 36:12Speaker 4: I'll be darned. That's awesome. It was like, bam, bam,
- 36:15Speaker 4: quick turnaround, too. Submitted it. Only like six, seven months.
- 36:21Speaker 5: Are you being serious? I was like, oh, really?
- 36:24Speaker 4: Oh, yeah. Only six, seven months to get it back.
- 36:27Speaker 5: I don't really collect any cards of myself except the
- 36:33Speaker 5: Topps Chrome 2008. I've got the 50 auto that you're
- 36:38Speaker 5: looking for for you. I've got that one. I've got
- 36:42Speaker 5: mostly colors. I don't have out of 10.
- 36:44Speaker 4: Hold that baby up.
- 36:46Speaker 5: I don't have out of 10, and I don't have.
- 36:48Speaker 5: Isn't that cool?
- 36:50Speaker 4: Look at those shorts. That's really cool.
- 36:52Speaker 5: Long ass shorts.
- 36:53Speaker 1: There they are.
- 36:53Speaker 4: Are those Taylor shorts? They're not Taylor shorts. Those are
- 36:57Speaker 4: Taylor shorts.
- 36:59Speaker 5: I don't know. Kellen, are they?
- 37:02Speaker 6: I think it's fair to say we got to evaluate that.
- 37:05Speaker 5: I would love to find the of 10, and I
- 37:07Speaker 5: would still love to find a one of one.
- 37:08Speaker 4: The 10s are beautiful because they're gold, and they're a
- 37:11Speaker 4: gold slash super factor.
- 37:13Speaker 5: So if you have that out there.
- 37:15Speaker 4: And there's a 101 out there. What was that? I
- 37:18Speaker 4: want y'all to understand how loud that was. I went
- 37:20Speaker 4: by the trash can.
- 37:21Speaker 5: That was a sneeze?
- 37:21Speaker 4: Yeah, that was a sneeze.
- 37:23Speaker 5: Christ be the king.
- 37:24Speaker 6: Dude.
- 37:25Speaker 5: Are your lungs still in place?
- 37:26Speaker 4: That one hurt in the chest area. I'm going to
- 37:28Speaker 4: be very honest.
- 37:29Speaker 5: My God. That one was like.
- 37:31Speaker 1: Jesus.
- 37:31Speaker 3: I think my butt came off the seat a little
- 37:33Speaker 3: bit on that one. That one had some power behind it.
- 37:36Speaker 7: Taylor said, get the sneeze out my butt.
- 37:38Speaker 6: I did. I did.
- 37:38Speaker 4: I was like, eh. Hey, I do have a big
- 37:42Speaker 4: announcement on my card front. for you know how i've
- 37:45Speaker 4: been chasing like the the 2008 tops chrome parrot like
- 37:50Speaker 4: trying to rainbow that getting everyone it's like those things
- 37:53Speaker 4: are in the wind man i've got a lot but
- 37:55Speaker 4: 2012 i was fortunate enough that was the year i
- 37:58Speaker 4: went to seattle i was part of the first ever
- 38:00Speaker 4: panini prism oh checklist so i was on like a
- 38:04Speaker 4: checklist of 300 guys whatever so panini prism for those
- 38:06Speaker 4: of y'all who know cars in.
- 38:07Speaker 5: The football world i only got the oh oh eight
- 38:09Speaker 5: oh nine.
- 38:10Speaker 4: Yeah Prism is like one of the, I guess, most
- 38:14Speaker 4: substantial releases type of cards out there. They were very
- 38:18Speaker 4: influential in people getting into cards. It's a beautiful set.
- 38:21Speaker 4: It's a collector's item. I think the 2012 Tom Brady
- 38:25Speaker 4: 101 is still out there somewhere. Or at least it
- 38:29Speaker 4: never surfaced, at least. It might have gotten pizza on
- 38:32Speaker 4: it and thrown away 10 years ago by a kid.
- 38:35Speaker 4: One of those deals. But I have recently, thanks to
- 38:39Speaker 4: some help with some people I met, Um, on the Instagram,
- 38:42Speaker 4: on the socials recently completed my base 2012 panini prism rainbow.
- 38:52Speaker 5: How many is that?
- 38:53Speaker 4: It's not that many. So it's not like it used
- 38:54Speaker 4: to be. It's not like it is now where there's
- 38:56Speaker 4: like 20 or 30 and different sets. There's two one-on-ones.
- 39:00Speaker 4: There's like the orange pylon. There's the black finite one-on-one
- 39:02Speaker 4: and I have, I have both of them. Oh, that's nice.
- 39:04Speaker 4: I have the gold to 10.
- 39:06Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 39:07Speaker 4: Um then there is a of course there's the silver
- 39:11Speaker 4: there's the base there is a green hobby release like
- 39:14Speaker 4: that came out of hobby boxes yeah kind of like
- 39:17Speaker 4: probably like a purple shock or something like that it
- 39:19Speaker 4: was the green and then there was a red die
- 39:21Speaker 4: cut yeah so these are all non-audit yeah but the
- 39:25Speaker 4: the first year there wasn't that many There was two one-on-ones.
- 39:31Speaker 4: Thanks to a couple people I've met and did some
- 39:33Speaker 4: deals with, I've completed the rainbow. I got to only
- 39:37Speaker 4: think that I'm the only person to ever do that.
- 39:41Speaker 4: At least collect their own set in a panini prism
- 39:44Speaker 4: at Rainbow.
- 39:46Speaker 5: Pretty fired up about it.
- 39:47Speaker 4: You should So I got to get them graded. I
- 39:49Speaker 4: have two of them that are still getting graded. They
- 39:51Speaker 4: should be back within the next month. And then I
- 39:53Speaker 4: just got the green. The green one was the hardest
- 39:55Speaker 4: one to find. It took me forever to find it.
- 39:57Speaker 5: That's out of?
- 39:58Speaker 4: It's not out of anything. It's like a Purple Shock
- 40:00Speaker 4: or something like that. It was like a hobby, like
- 40:04Speaker 4: a retail exclusive box, like the special, like, you know,
- 40:07Speaker 4: get the green parallel or whatever.
- 40:09Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 40:10Speaker 4: And I couldn't find that one. So I just got
- 40:13Speaker 4: that in the mail this week. Or, no, into last week.
- 40:16Speaker 4: And so I have to send that one off for grading.
- 40:18Speaker 4: Then I'll have them all graded. So I'm pretty fired
- 40:21Speaker 4: up about it. So 2008, top scrims.
- 40:23Speaker 5: And if you have the old one-on-one of this of
- 40:26Speaker 5: your boy, I'll trade you LSU Bama tickets for it.
- 40:30Speaker 1: Yep.
- 40:31Speaker 5: And, hell, maybe Texas, too. All right, we'll take a break.

- 43:18Speaker 5: All right, let's get to a little Ask the Bench.
- 43:20Speaker 5: Brought to you by School of Secrets. Hashtag Ask the Bench.
- 43:24Speaker 5: Favorite 80s new wave song. What's that mean?
- 43:30Speaker 6: Huh?
- 43:30Speaker 5: What's that?
- 43:31Speaker 4: New wave song?
- 43:31Speaker 5: New wave song?
- 43:33Speaker 4: What's that? There's a new 80s song? No, new wave.
- 43:36Speaker 5: What's new wave?
- 43:38Speaker 4: What's old wave?
- 43:39Speaker 8: Wait, like.
- 43:40Speaker 4: What about present wave?
- 43:42Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 43:46Speaker 2: Oh, no.
- 43:47Speaker 4: New wave 80s song.
- 43:48Speaker 5: Wait, y'all don't know what new wave is?
- 43:49Speaker 6: No. No. Nope.
- 43:50Speaker 7: It's like the, I don't know, I guess like Duran
- 43:53Speaker 7: Duran would be it.
- 43:54Speaker 4: New Wave is a pop-oriented music genre that emerged from
- 43:57Speaker 4: the late 1970s punk rock, blending punk energy with synthesizers,
- 44:01Speaker 4: art rock, and dance rhythms.
- 44:03Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 44:03Speaker 4: All right. Some examples. Like Depeche Mode. Safety Dance.
- 44:08Speaker 5: Okay, there we go. I like that one.
- 44:09Speaker 4: I don't know if that was one. Tears for Fears
- 44:12Speaker 4: is one.
- 44:12Speaker 5: You can leave yourself behind, but if you don't dance,
- 44:15Speaker 5: and if you can't dance, then you're no friend of mine.
- 44:17Speaker 4: That's a good one.
- 44:24Speaker 5: Hashtag Ask the Bench. What's y'all's must-watch game this weekend?
- 44:28Speaker 5: Or is there one? Florida-Georgia. Yeah, I guess so. I
- 44:33Speaker 5: really want to watch Auburn.
- 44:34Speaker 6: And Ole Miss.
- 44:35Speaker 4: Oh, yeah, Auburn and Ole Miss.
- 44:36Speaker 5: That'd be great.
- 44:36Speaker 4: I can't wait to see Notre Dame go down to Navy.
- 44:39Speaker 4: That'd be great. I'm probably going to play outside a
- 44:43Speaker 4: lot this weekend, honestly.
- 44:46Speaker 5: Hashtag Ask the Bench. Are we happy that Jay-Z is
- 44:50Speaker 5: performing at halftime at the Super Bowl, or is someone
- 44:52Speaker 5: going to be upset about it for some reason? I mean,
- 44:57Speaker 5: that's who picks who does it. As long as he's
- 45:01Speaker 5: got a ton of people that he's featured with to
- 45:03Speaker 5: show up with him. I love that for the Super Bowl.
- 45:06Speaker 5: When it's just one person out there, man, come on.
- 45:09Speaker 5: Bring out about five or six people. Like the L.A.
- 45:11Speaker 5: one that had Eminem and Dre and Snoop and Fitty.
- 45:14Speaker 5: That's what I want.
- 45:15Speaker 4: You know Queen B is going to show up? Got to.
- 45:17Speaker 5: I'm sure Justin Timberlake. Maybe they got a couple songs.
- 45:22Speaker 5: If it's something like that, yeah, it'll be cool.
- 45:23Speaker 7: But if it's literally just Jay-Z, then I honestly have
- 45:26Speaker 7: no interest in seeing that.
- 45:28Speaker 6: Why?
- 45:28Speaker 4: I mean, does Jay-Z have that many hits by himself?
- 45:33Speaker 5: Yeah, he does.
- 45:34Speaker 9: He does.
- 45:34Speaker 7: They're just not like the type of hits that I
- 45:36Speaker 7: like to look like.
- 45:37Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 45:38Speaker 4: This is going to be your bad bunny. I guess.
- 45:41Speaker 4: Hashtag ass. I'm not going to be as upset about
- 45:43Speaker 4: it as y'all were. I wasn't upset. I was smiling
- 45:46Speaker 4: the whole time.
- 45:47Speaker 5: Ask the Bench. Thoughts on Orlovsky finding out what percent
- 45:50Speaker 5: means just yesterday.
- 45:53Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 45:55Speaker 5: What do you mean? What did you say? It says,
- 45:57Speaker 5: thoughts on Orlovsky finding out what percent means just yesterday.
- 46:01Speaker 6: No.
- 46:02Speaker 5: I don't know. I don't have a thought on that.
- 46:03Speaker 5: What is that?
- 46:04Speaker 4: Just like a percent? I don't know what that means.
- 46:05Speaker 6: I don't know.
- 46:06Speaker 4: Like percentages?
- 46:07Speaker 5: I don't believe that. Ask the Bench. Our school is
- 46:11Speaker 5: adding football. I have two sons, seven and nine. What
- 46:13Speaker 5: is the best age to start football? We have been
