- 0:00Speaker 1: Tampa Bay's best music is.
- 0:03Speaker 2: Magic.
- 0:04Speaker 1: 94.9. Welcome to a new episode of Scotty and Abby unfiltered.
- 0:07Speaker 1: We do have to shoot our shot publicly. I think
- 0:10Speaker 1: this would be a lot better because of what's coming
- 0:12Speaker 1: to the Tampa Bay area.
- 0:14Speaker 2: We put them on blast.
- 0:14Speaker 1: Yeah, it just gives us protection.
- 0:16Speaker 2: I thought you were in active conversations with us.
- 0:18Speaker 1: I am in active conversations. And I think the way
- 0:21Speaker 1: to close the deal would be to have the conversation
- 0:24Speaker 1: with all of us because I needed to start it.
- 0:26Speaker 1: I actually I got in trouble because I just assumed
- 0:28Speaker 1: we got stuff. like recently. And I was like, Oh,
- 0:30Speaker 1: I'm so sorry. Let me do it formally. And that's
- 0:32Speaker 1: sending an email, having it in file. So we're going
- 0:35Speaker 1: to call up one of our promotions directors here to
- 0:37Speaker 1: see what we can be given access.
- 0:39Speaker 2: Oh, we're going to call him right now.
- 0:41Speaker 1: Well, in a second, in a second, I got to
- 0:42Speaker 1: run something by you because I've noticed this recently. I've
- 0:45Speaker 1: had a lot of friends comment on my hair.
- 0:46Speaker 2: Okay. And which it's crazy how much it's grown. I
- 0:49Speaker 2: know a memory came up from April. I'm like, that's
- 0:53Speaker 2: not Scotty. That's you're like Scott word now.
- 0:56Speaker 1: I don't even know if that's a good, is that
- 0:58Speaker 1: a better version?
- 0:58Speaker 2: No, it's just like you're like, you just, you've just evolved.
- 1:02Speaker 1: I feel like I've evolved too. Like I can now
- 1:03Speaker 1: look in the mirror and be like, wait a second.
- 1:06Speaker 1: I've made it through the ugly duckling phase.
- 1:09Speaker 2: I know.
- 1:09Speaker 1: Well. Is it a phase? It's just a lifestyle. Well,
- 1:16Speaker 1: what's funny is in the beginning of this journey, I
- 1:19Speaker 1: simply asked ChatGPT to give me an idea of what
- 1:22Speaker 1: I would look like with long hair. And it gave
- 1:25Speaker 1: me a couple options. What I find so crazy, and
- 1:29Speaker 1: I'm going to show you this, Abby, because now when
- 1:32Speaker 1: I look at the picture, it's wild how accurate chat was.
- 1:37Speaker 1: It just came up with this vision. I want to
- 1:39Speaker 1: see if you actually see the same person that I
- 1:42Speaker 1: see when I look at this picture because it's now
- 1:44Speaker 1: doing the thing where it's like, I could slick it back.
- 1:46Speaker 1: I could pop it up. And people in the building,
- 1:49Speaker 1: what's so funny is now people see me and they
- 1:51Speaker 1: admit that at first they thought it was a horrible idea. Like,
- 1:55Speaker 1: we have one of our coworkers, JoJo, and she literally
- 1:58Speaker 1: told me, she's like, honestly, I hated the fact that
- 2:00Speaker 1: you were growing out your hair because I thought it
- 2:01Speaker 1: looked so bad. Well, it did.
- 2:03Speaker 2: Okay.
- 2:04Speaker 1: Guys, we knew this was going to be a phase, right? Like,
- 2:06Speaker 1: we all knew.
- 2:06Speaker 2: It's not a phase, Mom.
- 2:08Speaker 1: We knew that it was going to take time to
- 2:10Speaker 1: get to this point.
- 2:11Speaker 2: It was the lederhosen phase around July that was the worst.
- 2:15Speaker 1: You know what actually sucks about this before I show
- 2:17Speaker 1: you this photo? My girlfriend, Brianna, and I, we have
- 2:20Speaker 1: so many photos from that time period. Uh-huh. And there's
- 2:22Speaker 1: one photo in particular where we went out to, like,
- 2:24Speaker 1: the Sapphire.
- 2:25Speaker 2: Oh, stop.
- 2:26Speaker 1: And she looks gorgeous.
- 2:28Speaker 2: Yeah. She always looks good.
- 2:29Speaker 1: I look so stupid.
- 2:31Speaker 2: What's funny is, imagine going through your honeymoon phase while you're, like, peak.
- 2:37Speaker 1: Yes.
- 2:37Speaker 2: Peak transitional phase.
- 2:39Speaker 1: Yeah. Like, I felt so ugly. And I'm like, I'm
- 2:41Speaker 1: so glad she decided to stick with me because. Yeah.
- 2:43Speaker 1: I actually had to ask her the other day because
- 2:46Speaker 1: when she first met me, I had short hair. Mm-hmm.
- 2:48Speaker 1: That's the version that she liked. Yeah. And I was like, well,
- 2:53Speaker 1: you still like me now because I don't look like
- 2:54Speaker 1: that same version. Luckily, I think she does. But check
- 2:57Speaker 1: out this photo of AI. This is what AI originally
- 3:00Speaker 1: came up with. Okay.
- 3:00Speaker 2: So this is what.
- 3:02Speaker 1: Tell me. Okay. Like, okay, I'm going to take off
- 3:05Speaker 1: my headphones. How close are we to that image? You're kidding. Okay.
- 3:08Speaker 2: So I've been telling you because you're close.
- 3:10Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 3:11Speaker 2: There's not an. Okay. Don't get self-conscious when I say
- 3:14Speaker 2: unevenness because my hair does this too. It's just the
- 3:17Speaker 2: shape of my head. You've got more fullness on this side.
- 3:21Speaker 1: On my right side.
- 3:21Speaker 2: Yeah. And I feel like either your stylist needs to
- 3:26Speaker 2: thin it out or give you some layers, or I
- 3:28Speaker 2: feel like there's a little bit more of a curl
- 3:30Speaker 2: pattern to this guy's hair to where I feel like
- 3:33Speaker 2: a semi-perm. Would maybe kind of zhuzh it up a
- 3:37Speaker 2: little bit. Or make it look more cohesive. But it
- 3:40Speaker 2: looks good. Like, I'm seeing the vision.
- 3:42Speaker 1: The vision is visioning. Yeah, like, it's actually... What I
- 3:45Speaker 1: learned is that you have to train your hair. Yes.
- 3:47Speaker 1: So it's getting trained to start doing this new pattern.
- 3:50Speaker 1: That's why this other side has more. Because for freaking years,
- 3:54Speaker 1: I just swooped it over to that side. Yeah. And
- 3:56Speaker 1: so the hair is used to it.
- 3:57Speaker 2: But it is crazy. Like, your hair looks... Like, you
- 3:59Speaker 2: have a curl pattern to it now.
- 4:01Speaker 1: Isn't it nuts? You know what's crazy is I had to...
- 4:04Speaker 1: what was I thinking the other day of like the
- 4:06Speaker 1: new things I've had to learn how to do. And
- 4:08Speaker 1: one of them is my hair. It's crazy. Cause for
- 4:11Speaker 1: so many years I'm talking like, how old am I now?
- 4:14Speaker 1: I'm about to be 30 probably for 20 years. I've
- 4:17Speaker 1: just put a little bit of paste in my hair
- 4:19Speaker 1: and just popped it up. Now I'm waking up and
- 4:22Speaker 1: I'm doing a blow dryer. I have a, for the
- 4:24Speaker 1: first time ever, I had to buy salt spray. I
- 4:26Speaker 1: don't know what the hell that was at first, but
- 4:28Speaker 1: I spritz my hair. I put paste in it.
- 4:30Speaker 2: I'm going to get you like a moose.
- 4:32Speaker 1: It, See, I don't even know what that is. I
- 4:35Speaker 1: thought it was an animal. I have to step into
- 4:38Speaker 1: these new arenas. What's so funny is like my algorithm.
- 4:41Speaker 1: If you would have told me a year ago that
- 4:43Speaker 1: my algorithm was going to be filled with men styling
- 4:45Speaker 1: hair and cars, I would have called you crazy. Yeah.
- 4:49Speaker 1: Two things I'm not interested at all.
- 4:50Speaker 2: Well, it's better than boobs and what other weird, porny
- 4:54Speaker 2: things guys have on their explore page. Which I didn't
- 4:56Speaker 2: realize it was a thing until I started hearing my
- 4:58Speaker 2: guy friends talk about it, like, with their girlfriends. They're like, oh, yeah,
- 5:00Speaker 2: when I got a girlfriend, I had to retrain my
- 5:02Speaker 2: For You page or whatever. I'm like, oh, new fear unlocked.
- 5:06Speaker 1: Yeah, but here's the thing, though, and I hate this
- 5:08Speaker 1: about social media, is because it might not even be
- 5:11Speaker 1: something that you're, like, seeking out. It just knows that
- 5:13Speaker 1: if you look at something for, like, two seconds longer
- 5:16Speaker 1: than you did the rest, it's like, got it, let's
- 5:18Speaker 1: throw it in there. And so you might look at
- 5:19Speaker 1: a guy's feed and it's like, bro, you pervert. Is
- 5:22Speaker 1: this all you do? And he's like, I literally, I looked,
- 5:26Speaker 1: I couldn't help it. My monkey brain was like three
- 5:28Speaker 1: seconds too long and now it changed my entire explore page.
- 5:31Speaker 1: It is funny though. If you're ever with a group
- 5:32Speaker 1: of guys, this is, I don't do this because I
- 5:36Speaker 1: hate this when somebody does it, but ask everyone to
- 5:39Speaker 1: show their explore page. Make it a little fun bit.
- 5:41Speaker 1: Oh my God. What's on your explore page?
- 5:42Speaker 2: Should we show each other our explore pages? I actually
- 5:45Speaker 2: don't know what would be on mine.
- 5:46Speaker 1: Um, Let me check first.
- 5:50Speaker 2: Okay, how about we check it, and then we both
- 5:52Speaker 2: have to say whether or not we would be uncomfortable
- 5:54Speaker 2: with you seeing it.
- 5:55Speaker 1: Yeah, because mine should be fine, because it's just like cars,
- 5:58Speaker 1: but every now and then it's like Instagram knows I'm
- 6:00Speaker 1: a male that's 29, so it's like, what about this? Okay,
- 6:04Speaker 1: mine's fine. Mine's fine.
- 6:05Speaker 2: Mine is exactly what you would expect. What are the
- 6:08Speaker 2: first three posts?
- 6:10Speaker 1: That would be in yours?
- 6:11Speaker 2: Yeah, like what are the top three? So like here's mine.
- 6:14Speaker 1: I'll take mine. Okay.
- 6:15Speaker 2: So my first three is a tall, hot man with
- 6:18Speaker 2: brown hair.
- 6:20Speaker 1: Just a random. Naturally.
- 6:22Speaker 2: What's his name? He's a fuck. He's from London.
- 6:25Speaker 1: Oh, my God.
- 6:26Speaker 2: They always find me. It's just some hot.
- 6:30Speaker 1: It's so funny that it's a random guy.
- 6:32Speaker 2: And then the next one is from it's a Taylor
- 6:35Speaker 2: Swift video. Taylor Swift rehearsing. So it's like a clip
- 6:38Speaker 2: from her documentary. And then the next one. is debut
- 6:42Speaker 2: era Taylor singing.
- 6:43Speaker 1: Okay, that makes sense.
- 6:45Speaker 2: This is exactly what you would expect from me.
- 6:46Speaker 1: Yeah, like hot brown haired men.
- 6:48Speaker 2: Belmont Camelli. Belmont Camelli's on here. Off campus.
- 6:54Speaker 1: See, if you looked at mine, you would think I'm like, honestly,
- 6:56Speaker 1: that I'm into men based off of this. So the
- 7:00Speaker 1: first one is the cyber cab, the Tesla cyber cab. Yep,
- 7:03Speaker 1: adds up. Because I've been looking at a ton of
- 7:05Speaker 1: just electric cars. The second one... Every chest exercise worth doing.
- 7:10Speaker 2: Oh, so is chest your favorite muscle group?
- 7:12Speaker 1: It is, actually. Figured. And then the other one is
- 7:14Speaker 1: a video of Arnold Schwarzenegger working out. And it's just
- 7:18Speaker 1: in his heyday. Adds up. And then it's just literally
- 7:20Speaker 1: now it's all just cars and workouts. Cars and workouts.
- 7:23Speaker 1: But it's a lot of shirtless men. So if you
- 7:24Speaker 1: were to just go out my... Same. We should not
- 7:28Speaker 1: have the similarity there.
- 7:29Speaker 2: We probably have the same for you, Paige.
- 7:31Speaker 1: It's so funny because I'm like, if you just look
- 7:33Speaker 1: at this without knowing, you're like, Scott, what the heck?
- 7:35Speaker 1: I really like workout videos. I don't know why. It
- 7:38Speaker 1: gives me ideas, but it's not like I'm not into
- 7:40Speaker 1: these guys.
- 7:40Speaker 2: No, but I know what you mean. Because, I mean,
- 7:42Speaker 2: I'm sure there's girls doing workouts online, but I'm not
- 7:44Speaker 2: watching girls and being like, oh, my God.
- 7:46Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 7:46Speaker 2: Look at her BBL.
- 7:47Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 7:48Speaker 2: I'm just like, oh, I want her body. How do
- 7:50Speaker 2: I get that body?
- 7:50Speaker 1: Exactly. That's what mine is now. So it's just kind
- 7:52Speaker 1: of funny. This would not be what it looked like
- 7:54Speaker 1: a year ago. Tell you that. What would it look like?
- 7:57Speaker 1: I don't need to worry about that. Definitely not that.
- 8:00Speaker 2: How do I leave my relationship?
- 8:02Speaker 1: Oh, my God.
- 8:04Speaker 2: Jokes.
- 8:04Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 8:05Speaker 2: Jokes on jokes on jokes.
- 8:06Speaker 1: But now it's like a whole new life in what
- 8:09Speaker 1: I'm experiencing. So there's my hair updates because I know
- 8:12Speaker 1: now people are like, wait a second. It's coming together, guys.
- 8:15Speaker 1: We've done it. We've done it.
- 8:17Speaker 2: We did it, John.
- 8:18Speaker 1: My buddy told me, he's like, bro, the hair is herring.
- 8:21Speaker 2: The hair is herring.
- 8:22Speaker 1: I don't think I'm going to do anything to it
- 8:23Speaker 1: until like one after my birthday. Okay. Because then I'll
- 8:26Speaker 1: go and do like, I think then it's going to
- 8:27Speaker 1: be long enough to do a perm and curl and
- 8:31Speaker 1: all that other stuff. Yeah. I don't know what else
- 8:33Speaker 1: to do with it.
- 8:34Speaker 2: I just hope you're inspiring other men to grow their
- 8:36Speaker 2: hair out.
- 8:36Speaker 1: I hope so. I've seen more men with longer hair.
- 8:39Speaker 1: Like I've definitely gone out and I've seen, oh, hey,
- 8:41Speaker 1: you're growing out your hair. And you know what's funny
- 8:43Speaker 1: is now I compliment guys on their hair. Because I'll
- 8:45Speaker 1: be like, dude, nice flow. If you decide to grow
- 8:48Speaker 1: it out, great flow.
- 8:49Speaker 2: And now that I've paid attention to it more, I
- 8:52Speaker 2: am noticing how many men are getting hair transplants.
- 8:56Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
- 8:56Speaker 2: I feel like I can spot it in the same
- 8:58Speaker 2: way I feel like I can spot fake boobs now.
- 9:00Speaker 2: Where I'm like, oh, that's a turkey hairline. But I
- 9:03Speaker 2: love that. Like, I love that men are also being
- 9:06Speaker 2: expected to upkeep their appearances the same way women have
- 9:08Speaker 2: been for centuries.
- 9:09Speaker 1: As they should. And I don't think there should be
- 9:11Speaker 1: any shame behind it. Like, if it makes you feel better,
- 9:14Speaker 1: if you look good, do it.
- 9:15Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 9:16Speaker 1: I told my girlfriend, I was like, I'll do it.
- 9:18Speaker 1: And when I get to that point, I'm doing it.
- 9:20Speaker 1: I don't have a problem with it. Hell yeah. I
- 9:22Speaker 1: think the only problem is that it's just expensive.
- 9:24Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 9:24Speaker 1: That's the only thing I'm like, ooh, do I want
- 9:26Speaker 1: to drop that cash now or later? Later. And how
- 9:28Speaker 1: long does it last?
- 9:29Speaker 2: Propose to your lady. Oh, which, by the way, I
- 9:31Speaker 2: did talk to your girlfriend about you proposing to her.
- 9:33Speaker 1: What the fuck?
- 9:34Speaker 2: I think I know when it's going to happen.
- 9:35Speaker 1: What?
- 9:36Speaker 2: Do you want to talk about it right now? Sure.
- 9:38Speaker 1: I don't even know this conversation.
- 9:40Speaker 2: I didn't know that you guys were going to Italy
- 9:41Speaker 2: next year.
- 9:41Speaker 1: We are going to Italy next year.
- 9:43Speaker 2: And I was like, oh, he's for sure proposing to
- 9:44Speaker 2: you in Italy.
- 9:45Speaker 1: Okay. Well, here's the problem with that. First off, wow,
- 9:48Speaker 1: because she listens to the podcast. Second off, we're going
- 9:50Speaker 1: for somebody else's wedding. Isn't that like rule number one?
- 9:53Speaker 1: You can't propose at somebody else's wedding.
- 9:54Speaker 2: You got to do it after the wedding. That's the rule.
- 9:57Speaker 2: You can't do it before the wedding. If you do
- 9:59Speaker 2: it before the wedding, you're an asshole.
- 10:01Speaker 1: Yeah. Oh my God. I don't want to be that
- 10:02Speaker 1: person that's at the wedding.
- 10:03Speaker 2: If you guys are going to go to like Iskia afterwards,
- 10:05Speaker 2: like yeah, and propose after the wedding.
- 10:07Speaker 1: That's crazy.
- 10:08Speaker 2: I know. I caught you.
- 10:09Speaker 1: I feel like. Easy there. Wait, did you tell her that?
- 10:13Speaker 2: Yeah, I told her that. That's why I feel comfortable
- 10:15Speaker 2: talking about it because I told that to her. Yeah,
- 10:16Speaker 2: I said that to her face.
- 10:17Speaker 1: What'd she say?
- 10:18Speaker 2: And she was like, ooh. And then I was so
- 10:21Speaker 2: hot that I think I just like kind of started
- 10:23Speaker 2: browning out. I was so sweaty at that tailgate.
- 10:25Speaker 1: You're like, I'm going to give up on this conversation.
- 10:27Speaker 1: I'm just going to gas myself up. Well, it was loud.
- 10:28Speaker 2: There were a lot of conversations happening. And then I
- 10:31Speaker 2: don't know what, somebody like chimed in and I think
- 10:33Speaker 2: we pivoted.
- 10:34Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay, I'm just curious on her reaction.
- 10:36Speaker 2: Yeah, and I was like, just let me know if
- 10:37Speaker 2: you need any Italy recommendations because I'm the expert now
- 10:39Speaker 2: that I've been once.
- 10:40Speaker 1: I will actually take your Italy recommendations for going there. Yeah.
- 10:43Speaker 1: Because I get to, well, we get to plan, like,
- 10:45Speaker 1: what we hit outside of the wedding.
- 10:47Speaker 2: Yeah, I think I pivoted from talking about the proposal
- 10:49Speaker 2: to think, I think I started talking about where I
- 10:51Speaker 2: think you guys should stay. And then I can't remember,
- 10:53Speaker 2: somebody jumped into the conversation and, like, hijacked it.
- 10:55Speaker 1: Oh, gosh.
- 10:56Speaker 2: Not in, like, a bad way, but then, like, the
- 10:57Speaker 2: conversation pivoted.
- 10:58Speaker 1: It just went to a different direction. Okay, that's good.
- 11:00Speaker 1: I mean, very interesting. Haven't even... Whatever.
- 11:03Speaker 2: I love it.
- 11:04Speaker 1: Thanks for asking the hard-hitting questions.
- 11:05Speaker 2: Yeah, that's what I'm here for. Relationship journalist Abby Murphy.
- 11:08Speaker 1: I will take it. Let's actually, we're only, what are we,
- 11:11Speaker 1: we're about to hit.
- 11:11Speaker 2: 11 minutes?
- 11:13Speaker 1: No, no, no, no. I'm talking about my relationship date.
- 11:16Speaker 2: Feels like 11 minutes.
- 11:18Speaker 1: Seven months. Just hit seven months. That's huge. It is huge.
- 11:22Speaker 1: And that's still very early. No, it's not. It's not.
- 11:26Speaker 1: You guys are old. It does feel like, all right,
- 11:29Speaker 1: we're right in pocket with what we need to do.
- 11:31Speaker 1: But what's fun is like now there's things. Do you
- 11:34Speaker 1: ever see this on your For You page where it's
- 11:35Speaker 1: like life with him, life without him, like life with her,
- 11:38Speaker 1: life without her? Where people are like slowly moving their
- 11:41Speaker 1: things into someone's house? That's what's happening to me right now.
- 11:43Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 11:44Speaker 1: Where it's like, oh, wait, that's a new thing on
- 11:45Speaker 1: my shelf. Oh, wait. That's a new article of clothing
- 11:48Speaker 1: in my closet.
- 11:49Speaker 2: Oh, that's beautiful. It is. What was the first thing
- 11:51Speaker 2: you noticed?
- 11:52Speaker 1: I had dresses in my closet.
- 11:54Speaker 2: Those haven't been there before?
- 11:56Speaker 1: No.
- 11:58Speaker 2: I'm pretty sure I saw you wearing one.
- 11:59Speaker 1: Kidding.
- 12:00Speaker 2: He's like, wait a second, I forgot this is from 2024.
- 12:03Speaker 1: You know, I could never, I might, but I could
- 12:05Speaker 1: never run for politics because of the pictures that would
- 12:07Speaker 1: be revealed. Yeah. Because there's definitely a picture out there
- 12:10Speaker 1: of me in a dress. And not even just one time. Yeah.
- 12:12Speaker 2: Does that make you ineligible for office?
- 12:15Speaker 1: But could you imagine the comments? this is who wants
- 12:18Speaker 1: to be your mayor?
- 12:19Speaker 2: No, because it'd be Gen Z voting. So it'd be like, oh,
- 12:21Speaker 2: look at him appropriating gender or something. Oh, yeah.
- 12:24Speaker 1: Yeah. But we did the thing in high school where,
- 12:27Speaker 1: what was it? Powder puff, but not powder puff. Yeah.
- 12:29Speaker 1: Where you like, you switch roles.
- 12:30Speaker 2: Gender bender.
- 12:31Speaker 1: Is that what they called it in Europe?
- 12:34Speaker 2: We weren't allowed to do it. And I can't remember why.
- 12:35Speaker 2: And I'm so grateful that they made that rule because
- 12:39Speaker 2: people had so much fun. I was excited for it.
- 12:41Speaker 2: I was like, oh, I can't wait to dress like
- 12:42Speaker 2: a dude at school.
- 12:43Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 12:43Speaker 2: But something happened. And I'm so glad they didn't allow
- 12:45Speaker 2: us to do it because I feel like now there
- 12:48Speaker 2: would have been some kind of angle about like Creekside
- 12:50Speaker 2: High School making fun of, you know.
- 12:53Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. We went full send. Like I
- 12:56Speaker 1: put in balloons in my shirt. a long wig my
- 12:59Speaker 1: friend dressed up as me as like just a dude
- 13:02Speaker 1: it was honestly so fun no it's the best like
- 13:05Speaker 1: nobody thought about it back then like that though not
- 13:07Speaker 1: back then it was like so long ago it was.
- 13:09Speaker 2: Like 2014 yeah I mean yeah yeah we didn't.
- 13:13Speaker 1: Look at that as like oh my gosh we're like
- 13:15Speaker 1: either making fun of something or I don't know it's
- 13:17Speaker 1: just like what you.
- 13:18Speaker 2: Did we're just looser back in the day yeah I
- 13:20Speaker 2: feel like we're kind of turning a corner I feel
- 13:22Speaker 2: like I've seen a lot of like okay, everyone take
- 13:24Speaker 2: a deep breath rhetoric online. Like it's not everything. Like
- 13:27Speaker 2: for example, I think the internet just for whatever reason
- 13:31Speaker 2: attracts just random ass discourse that I think maybe has
- 13:36Speaker 2: turned into people having to become hypervigilant about their own views.
- 13:39Speaker 2: Like you constantly have to think about everything from every
- 13:41Speaker 2: single angle. And for example, I posted what I thought
- 13:45Speaker 2: was the most harmless video on my TikTok and my
- 13:50Speaker 2: Instagram page. while I was in Italy. And it was just,
- 13:53Speaker 2: Hey guys, I saw this girl share this anti pickpocketing trick.
- 13:57Speaker 2: That's pretty inexpensive. Um, and I just wanted to share
- 14:00Speaker 2: it with you cause I thought it was super cute.
- 14:02Speaker 2: And the comment section in this video of me taking
- 14:05Speaker 2: a $ 10 Amazon purse and wrapping a scarf around it.
- 14:08Speaker 2: Like you would think I was speaking about like Anti blah, blah, blah,
- 14:14Speaker 2: and whatever. Like, the amount of, like, well, what about this?
- 14:16Speaker 2: You didn't even think about this. Oh, you spent $ 20?
- 14:19Speaker 1: Like, just.
- 14:19Speaker 2: I'm like, of all the things I thought would blow
- 14:22Speaker 2: up on the internet and get some kind of just.
- 14:26Speaker 2: Hatred rhetoric. Like, this was the last thing I thought
- 14:29Speaker 2: I was going to post. Like, I posted way more controversial.
- 14:31Speaker 1: Shit than that. Hell yeah, you have.
- 14:32Speaker 2: And it's been way, like, way more fine.
- 14:35Speaker 1: Were people thinking that you were, like, I don't know,
- 14:37Speaker 1: talking bad about Italians?
- 14:38Speaker 2: No, let's just go down the list. They find some
- 14:41Speaker 2: way to be like, well, what if this happens? Like, well,
- 14:43Speaker 2: that's not going to stop them from cutting off your
- 14:45Speaker 2: bag and running with it. I'm like, well, that's a
- 14:47Speaker 2: fucking robbery, and I didn't say this is going to
- 14:50Speaker 2: help you not get robbed in Italy.
- 14:51Speaker 1: Yeah, if you're going to get robbed, you're going to
- 14:52Speaker 1: get robbed.
- 14:53Speaker 2: It said, hey, here's a cheap and inexpensive... hack that'll
- 14:56Speaker 2: make your purse look cute and also help you not get.
- 14:59Speaker 1: Pickpocketed yeah just a helpful tip take it if you
- 15:01Speaker 1: don't like it scroll.
- 15:02Speaker 2: Past it's not a court order okay it's a i'm
- 15:05Speaker 2: you know so anyway there's 34 comments it felt like
- 15:07Speaker 2: a lot more what did someone say um someone commented
- 15:13Speaker 2: just wear a crossbody bag you're welcome and i'm just
- 15:16Speaker 2: like okay someone said you could even do that with
- 15:17Speaker 2: a bag you already own and i was like yeah
- 15:20Speaker 2: You could. I didn't own a bag like this though.
- 15:23Speaker 2: Someone said, they could also cut the bag, not just
- 15:26Speaker 2: open it. I'm like, yeah, that's... They could also pull
- 15:29Speaker 2: a gun on me. I could also be held at
- 15:31Speaker 2: knife point. Someone else. Wouldn't they just pull the bag
- 15:38Speaker 2: off your shoulder? I'm like, that's a robbery.
- 15:41Speaker 1: Again, it's different people. We don't have to have an
- 15:43Speaker 1: opinion on everything.
- 15:44Speaker 2: Someone said, surely you can buy both things from other
- 15:46Speaker 2: places too.
- 15:48Speaker 1: No shit.
- 15:50Speaker 2: Most people use Amazon.
- 15:52Speaker 1: That's literally it. That's what.
- 15:55Speaker 2: Anyway, there's just if you just go in that comment section,
- 15:57Speaker 2: it's like every other comment is just like, well, what
- 16:00Speaker 2: about this? Did you think about this? How are you?
- 16:02Speaker 2: Why are you supporting Jeff Bezos? I'm like, unfortunately, me
- 16:07Speaker 2: purchasing this ten dollar Amazon bag is not going to
- 16:09Speaker 2: stop him from scorching the earth.
- 16:11Speaker 1: And you know what's so annoying? There's so many different
- 16:13Speaker 1: things that are annoying with that. The first one is
- 16:15Speaker 1: like when somebody says something about the Jeff Bezos thing,
- 16:17Speaker 1: like they're ordering things off Amazon too.
- 16:19Speaker 2: That's what I mean.
- 16:20Speaker 1: You can't tell me you're not.
- 16:21Speaker 2: And listen, I hate it too. I hate that Jeff
- 16:23Speaker 2: Bezos is a bajillionaire. I love that his ex-wife donates
- 16:27Speaker 2: to a lot of great causes with all of her
- 16:29Speaker 2: billions and billions of dollars. But life is so exhausting.
- 16:32Speaker 2: And there's so many, everything, if you think about it,
- 16:35Speaker 2: and I kind of had to realize this working in media,
- 16:37Speaker 2: and I think posting a video like this online is
- 16:39Speaker 2: the perfect example. There's always a, there's something wrong with
- 16:44Speaker 2: this angle to everything. Literally to everything. And I think
- 16:47Speaker 2: that's been the most healing thing for me in content
- 16:51Speaker 2: is there is no criticism or what about this proof
- 16:55Speaker 2: thing in the world ever. Like think about like Mother Teresa.
- 16:59Speaker 2: You would think, oh, I'm sure there's no argument against
- 17:01Speaker 2: Mother Teresa. Go on the internet. You will find somebody
- 17:04Speaker 2: who has some kind of argument about why Mother Teresa...
- 17:06Speaker 2: was a horrible person. And that's fucking Mother Teresa. Do
- 17:09Speaker 2: you know what I mean?
- 17:09Speaker 1: Yeah, like how do you get mad at her?
- 17:10Speaker 2: And so I think accepting that has been so freeing
- 17:13Speaker 2: for me in my life in general that like no
- 17:15Speaker 2: matter what you do, somebody will either not like you
- 17:18Speaker 2: or have a problem with it or say, what about this?
- 17:20Speaker 2: Or just take up some kind of issue. Even if
- 17:22Speaker 2: it's the most unproblematic thing in the world. For example,
- 17:25Speaker 2: posting a video being like, hey girls, just wanted to
- 17:27Speaker 2: help you not get pickpocketed. Here's my inexpensive tip for you.
- 17:31Speaker 1: And then you just get ripped apart. How dare you
- 17:34Speaker 1: give me a tip that can help me not get pickpocketed.
- 17:36Speaker 2: I'm like, what? And somebody, oh, I think also on TikTok,
- 17:38Speaker 2: somebody said something so mean. It was like a verified
- 17:41Speaker 2: travel influencer. And it was so, let me find it.
- 17:44Speaker 2: I wonder if she deleted it because it was so mean.
- 17:47Speaker 1: Especially if they're somebody that's known in that space.
- 17:50Speaker 2: Well, that's why I was so shocked because it was
- 17:51Speaker 2: so snarky for literally no reason. I'm like, you're a
- 17:54Speaker 2: public figure. And I'm literally just like, Hey girl. So
- 17:57Speaker 2: I'm like, I don't know if she was bitter that
- 17:58Speaker 2: she just, I think she deleted it.
- 18:00Speaker 1: Oh, probably she deleted it. Yeah. She deleted it.
- 18:03Speaker 2: Cause it was so rude. It was something like, um,
- 18:06Speaker 2: just so unnecessarily snarky. And I commented and I, it
- 18:10Speaker 2: started a thread underneath it, or maybe it was on
- 18:12Speaker 2: Instagram because it didn't pop off on Tik TOK, which
- 18:15Speaker 2: is interesting. Like, The things that will not pop off
- 18:17Speaker 2: on TikTok but will go super viral on my Instagram
- 18:20Speaker 2: and vice versa. Like, some things will go super bland
- 18:22Speaker 2: on my TikTok but go crazy viral on TikTok. Like,
- 18:24Speaker 2: I don't understand the difference in the algorithms.
- 18:26Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't either because I post the same thing. And, like,
- 18:28Speaker 1: TikTok gives me, like, two views thanks to my dad.
- 18:31Speaker 2: Did I hide it? I definitely think they deleted it
- 18:33Speaker 2: because it was so rude. I'm like, this is bad
- 18:36Speaker 2: for your business.
- 18:37Speaker 1: That's what I'm, like, it's crazy. We had somebody the
- 18:39Speaker 1: other day on Instagram kind of just, it wasn't that
- 18:42Speaker 1: mean of a comment, but it was like, you guys
- 18:43Speaker 1: have the worst Instagram. Opinions or something like that like
- 18:46Speaker 1: it's something about our show yeah And I went to
- 18:48Speaker 1: their page and they're followed by the rock and I
- 18:50Speaker 1: was like who is this person? That's what I thought
- 18:52Speaker 1: I was like who the hell are you I was
- 18:54Speaker 1: like first off Thanks for the comment, but also like
- 18:56Speaker 1: you don't have to comment like that's the thing yeah
- 18:59Speaker 1: You don't have to jump in but I did have
- 19:01Speaker 1: a moment the other day where I saw I can't
- 19:03Speaker 1: I wish I could remember what it was but I
- 19:05Speaker 1: almost became a keyboard warrior like have you ever popped
- 19:07Speaker 1: off or like did one of those like just a
- 19:09Speaker 1: one-off where you got snarky in the comments Well, you
- 19:12Speaker 1: got a little mean.
- 19:12Speaker 2: In the comments. Like I saw somebody's TikTok and it
- 19:14Speaker 2: prompted me to say something mean.
- 19:16Speaker 1: Like it drove you to get in there.
- 19:17Speaker 2: No, because I'll start typing something. And sometimes just typing
- 19:20Speaker 2: something makes you feel good and then you delete it.
- 19:22Speaker 2: But the second I want to say something rude or snarky,
- 19:24Speaker 2: I go, this is loser behavior. Why am I saying this?
- 19:27Speaker 1: That's what I think too.
- 19:28Speaker 2: I think it's just weird loser behavior.
- 19:30Speaker 1: I do. What's crazy though is there's so many people
- 19:33Speaker 1: that do it. There's so... Because you have so much
- 19:35Speaker 1: time to watch the video, to look at the comments,
- 19:37Speaker 1: to then write out your comment, and then to post
- 19:39Speaker 1: the comment. And then you're just thinking about what you posted.
- 19:40Speaker 2: And also, you commenting benefits that person.
- 19:43Speaker 1: Correct.
- 19:43Speaker 2: Like, there's nothing you can say in the world of content, unless, like,
- 19:46Speaker 2: you know, they've done something cancelable. There's nothing you can
- 19:48Speaker 2: say that's going to hurt them. Like it only benefits
- 19:50Speaker 2: that person.
- 19:50Speaker 1: Absolutely. Like boost that algorithm. I love it. That's why
- 19:53Speaker 1: I love when people go after me, but I'm like,
- 19:55Speaker 1: it just drives it very interesting to me on where
- 19:59Speaker 1: people could just be like, how dare you? You suck.
- 20:02Speaker 1: You're the worst.
- 20:03Speaker 2: That's why. So we recently did a planning meeting where
- 20:06Speaker 2: we were talking about our different roles on the show.
- 20:08Speaker 2: And one of the things I said in our list
- 20:10Speaker 2: of job responsibilities I did not want to do is
- 20:12Speaker 2: I do not want to go in the comment section.
- 20:14Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, yeah.
- 20:14Speaker 2: Not because I don't want to help the show, but
- 20:18Speaker 2: I'm like every now and then someone's just going to
- 20:19Speaker 2: say something that's just being an asshole for no reason.
- 20:22Speaker 2: And it's not healthy for me to constantly ingest that.
- 20:25Speaker 2: So I'm like, if I don't have to do that,
- 20:26Speaker 2: I don't want to do it. I'm fine with it existing.
- 20:29Speaker 2: I just don't want to know it exists.
- 20:31Speaker 1: Absolutely. Yeah. For the most part, everything's great. Everything's really nice.
- 20:33Speaker 2: No, no.
- 20:33Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 20:34Speaker 2: But, but, but then every now and then somebody will
- 20:36Speaker 2: just say something and you never know what day you're
- 20:37Speaker 2: going to get to where you're just like, that just didn't,
- 20:40Speaker 2: I just didn't need to see that today.
- 20:41Speaker 1: Oh yeah. Like when I posted, what the heck did
- 20:43Speaker 1: I post? Uh, Oh, my cooking video for my girlfriend
- 20:46Speaker 1: and my hair was like wet and down. Oh yeah.
- 20:48Speaker 2: And there's going to be some asshole in there being like,
- 20:49Speaker 2: what's wrong with your hair?
- 20:50Speaker 1: Like I'm doing this sweet gesture. I'm showing you the
- 20:53Speaker 1: process and somebody's like, your hair looks like shit. Yeah.
- 20:56Speaker 1: I was like, Thanks. Really wasn't asking, but that's cool.
- 20:59Speaker 1: Or I remember the one, there was one that got
- 21:01Speaker 1: to me years ago and I was like, I was
- 21:04Speaker 1: shirtless for something, but somebody called me, they just mentioned
- 21:08Speaker 1: like my lower stomach, something along like a skinny fat thing.
- 21:12Speaker 1: And I was like, damn it, that one got me.
- 21:14Speaker 2: Shit.
- 21:15Speaker 1: All right, that hurts. I'm only thinking about that.
- 21:17Speaker 2: But here's the thing, that only benefits you because I'm
- 21:19Speaker 2: sure the next week in the gym, you went ham
- 21:21Speaker 2: and now you look incredible, I'm sure.
- 21:23Speaker 1: It's true. I mean, it does boost my morale. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 21:26Speaker 1: But not everyone's.
- 21:27Speaker 2: That's what I mean. And so sometimes the, it's not
- 21:30Speaker 2: that I want negative comments or hate comments or whatever,
- 21:32Speaker 2: but sometimes it just makes me, it does make you better.
- 21:35Speaker 2: And so they think it's going to hurt you, but ironically,
- 21:37Speaker 2: it always makes you better.
- 21:38Speaker 1: Yeah. And like, it just makes you, I always look
- 21:40Speaker 1: at the person, I'm like, You must be going through
- 21:43Speaker 1: some hell to get on someone's comment section and try
- 21:47Speaker 1: to take them down. Yeah. That's crazy. Get help, y'all.
- 21:52Speaker 1: Get help. Can't get a therapist? Talk to ChatGPT. Tell
- 21:57Speaker 1: Chat what you want to comment and have Chat respond.
- 21:59Speaker 2: Hey, comment in 2026 when you can just yell at Chat.
- 22:02Speaker 1: For real. Just get it out of your system somewhere else.
- 22:05Speaker 1: That's wild to me. You ready to try to push
- 22:07Speaker 1: our luck and see if we can get through? He
- 22:09Speaker 1: probably won't answer.
- 22:10Speaker 2: I don't know how comfortable I am with this, if
- 22:12Speaker 2: I'm honest with you.
- 22:12Speaker 1: You think it's going to go sideways?
- 22:14Speaker 2: Well, first of all, it's 8.55. He probably isn't even
- 22:17Speaker 2: in the office. And you think the first thing he
- 22:18Speaker 2: wants to deal with is, Abby and Scotty want tickets.
- 22:22Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 22:22Speaker 2: You know what I mean? I sent him an email already,
- 22:24Speaker 2: so I don't want it to seem like I'm hounding him.
- 22:27Speaker 2: And I really want to go to the... I can't
- 22:28Speaker 2: believe I didn't realize the Lightning Panthers game was tonight.
- 22:32Speaker 1: But it's preseason though, right?
- 22:33Speaker 2: Yeah, but that doesn't matter.
- 22:34Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, no, I know.
- 22:35Speaker 2: At home, maybe if it was the Sunrise game, but
- 22:39Speaker 2: this is the first time Lightning and the Panthers are
- 22:41Speaker 2: playing each other this year. It doesn't matter if it's preseason.
- 22:44Speaker 2: These guys hate each other. Hate, hate, hate each other.
- 22:47Speaker 2: And I want to see it go down.
- 22:48Speaker 1: What's so cool about this game is like every team,
- 22:51Speaker 1: and this is, I don't know, I didn't know this
- 22:53Speaker 1: growing up. That's why I didn't really like fighting and hockey.
- 22:55Speaker 1: But every team needs a fighter. Someone that's just down
- 22:57Speaker 1: to get into it. Down to get bloody. Down to
- 23:00Speaker 1: lose a tooth. Tonight you get to find out.
- 23:02Speaker 2: That's all of them. Like, I think the entire Lightning
- 23:04Speaker 2: and Panthers teams, they both like to fight.
- 23:07Speaker 1: They do.
- 23:07Speaker 2: And I think that's why it's so entertaining. So if
- 23:09Speaker 2: you don't follow Lightning hockey, I can't remember what the
- 23:12Speaker 2: stats were. Let me pull it up because we were
- 23:13Speaker 2: talking about it on the show today. But like the
- 23:15Speaker 2: last time Lightning and the Panthers played each other. they
- 23:20Speaker 2: had 312 penalty minutes and 13 game misconducts, which is
- 23:24Speaker 2: a lot. And there was at one point, like the
- 23:25Speaker 2: entire starting line was in the penalty box. Like both
- 23:28Speaker 2: of them, they're just sitting there and they have like
- 23:30Speaker 2: the Z team out there on the ice.
- 23:32Speaker 1: Like that's- They're pulling players from the stands.
- 23:34Speaker 2: Literally.
- 23:35Speaker 1: Anybody know how to skate?
- 23:36Speaker 2: Can anyone do it? Like they can't even play hockey
- 23:38Speaker 2: because there's so many, no one can play. And so
- 23:42Speaker 2: I find that highly entertaining. I was talking about that
- 23:45Speaker 2: on the show today where I'm like, football's fine, baseball's fine.
- 23:47Speaker 2: But you never know what's going to happen in hockey.
- 23:50Speaker 2: And it's so personal because they're allowed to get rough
- 23:53Speaker 2: that I'm like, yeah, I want to see these guys
- 23:56Speaker 2: show their hatred.
- 23:56Speaker 1: On the ice. Oh, my God. Because it does. It
- 23:58Speaker 1: switches the momentum of the game. Like you have one
- 24:00Speaker 1: fight today and it could mean the Lightning win or
- 24:02Speaker 1: the Panthers win. Yeah.
- 24:03Speaker 2: It's the biggest rivalry, I think, in the NHL right now.
- 24:05Speaker 1: I would say so. I don't think there's anybody else
- 24:07Speaker 1: that plays that gets in as many fights. Unless it's
- 24:09Speaker 1: like every now and then, if you know hockey, like
- 24:11Speaker 1: the Bruins also used to be, might still be, but
- 24:13Speaker 1: big fighters up in Boston. But that's like that northern way.
- 24:17Speaker 1: Just get down and dirty with it. But it's crazy
- 24:19Speaker 1: that some of the toughest and meanest teams are both
- 24:22Speaker 1: from Florida.
- 24:23Speaker 2: I know. I was thinking about this. I'm like, how
- 24:25Speaker 2: did so many Canadians and northerners end up here? It's
- 24:27Speaker 2: because they're sick of dealing with the snow. They're like,
- 24:29Speaker 2: I'm cold on the ice. I'm cold when I.
- 24:30Speaker 1: Leave the ice.
- 24:31Speaker 2: I want to live somewhere hot.
- 24:32Speaker 1: I want to actually sweat when I go outside. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 24:34Speaker 1: That'll be fun. I think you'll be able to go
- 24:36Speaker 1: today then. You should be good.
- 24:37Speaker 2: I think I just requested the tickets too late.
- 24:40Speaker 1: Nah, there's probably a last pair. You think so? Yeah, 100%.
- 24:43Speaker 2: Yeah, but I'm saying this is a big game.
- 24:45Speaker 1: No, no, I know. I know.
- 24:47Speaker 2: I wasn't surprised that I got tickets last week, but
- 24:49Speaker 2: like this game, I don't know if I'm going to
- 24:51Speaker 2: get them.
- 24:51Speaker 1: I think. What I'm leaning on is I think they
- 24:55Speaker 1: really want us out there to start being able to
- 24:57Speaker 1: talk about it because of how much we cared the
- 24:59Speaker 1: last time we went and how much we posted and
- 25:01Speaker 1: got to be a part of it and how much
- 25:03Speaker 1: we talk about it. That part's really cool for them.
- 25:06Speaker 1: So hopefully there's a connect there. And if you do,
- 25:08Speaker 1: you're definitely going to find out who the scrappier players are,
- 25:11Speaker 1: whether it's us or them. But that is going to
- 25:13Speaker 1: set the tone for the rest of the season.
- 25:14Speaker 2: I can't wait. I'm so excited.
- 25:15Speaker 1: You know what I was thinking the other day is
- 25:16Speaker 1: how much– it's crazy how much money they must make
- 25:20Speaker 1: in a season– because of how many games they play.
- 25:23Speaker 1: And it made me think, I was like, I never
- 25:25Speaker 1: thought about it like this. That's why baseball and hockey
- 25:27Speaker 1: have so many games in a season. It's more opportunities
- 25:30Speaker 1: to make ticket sales. But football doesn't do that. Football
- 25:32Speaker 1: has like 16 games.
- 25:33Speaker 2: Isn't that crazy? And I objectively don't think football is
- 25:36Speaker 2: that entertaining to watch.
- 25:38Speaker 1: Damn. See, I love it. Yeah. But I actually like
- 25:41Speaker 1: watching it at home more than I do like watching
- 25:43Speaker 1: at the actual stadium.
- 25:44Speaker 2: Why do men like sports so much?
- 25:47Speaker 1: That's a good question.
- 25:48Speaker 2: I genuinely want to know because I know why I
- 25:50Speaker 2: specifically enjoy watching hockey. And I think it's because women
- 25:53Speaker 2: enjoy a story. And that's why I think hockey, for example,
- 25:56Speaker 2: is the premise of so many rom-coms right now, because
- 25:59Speaker 2: there's an interpersonal element that makes the books interesting. Like,
- 26:03Speaker 2: for example, an off campus, there was that whole storyline
- 26:05Speaker 2: about the other player on the other team and they
- 26:07Speaker 2: start fighting on the ice because of that. Like women
- 26:09Speaker 2: love that shit. And so that's why we find it entertaining.
- 26:12Speaker 2: But take me to a baseball game and I'm like, okay,
- 26:14Speaker 2: unless it's a really intense game, I just, I'm so
- 26:16Speaker 2: bored by this.
- 26:17Speaker 1: I think that's, well, this is going to ruffle some feathers,
- 26:19Speaker 1: but I think that's why it's the sport that people
- 26:21Speaker 1: don't like to watch the most because it doesn't have
- 26:24Speaker 1: that grit to it. Yeah. Like football, like I love
- 26:27Speaker 1: watching sports because there's a part of us in the
- 26:28Speaker 1: male brain that's like competitive, brutal. Like think of, I
- 26:32Speaker 1: saw a video yesterday of guys dressed up in armor
- 26:36Speaker 1: fighting like it was medieval times. Why?
- 26:39Speaker 2: Why?
- 26:40Speaker 1: For fun. Because there's a part of us that has
- 26:42Speaker 1: to compete, that has to win, that has to fight.
- 26:45Speaker 2: Or is it because men are all just secretly a
- 26:47Speaker 2: little gay?
- 26:47Speaker 1: Secretly a little gay.
- 26:48Speaker 2: Y'all just want to like grab each other and you
- 26:50Speaker 2: don't want to be called gay for it. I know.
- 26:52Speaker 1: It's like, why are football pants so tight? I don't know.
- 26:55Speaker 1: But they are.
- 26:55Speaker 2: I mean, it was designed by men.
- 26:57Speaker 1: It was. Apparently it helps us be more athletic. But
- 27:01Speaker 1: I think there is that part of us that's like,
- 27:03Speaker 1: I need to win. We've done it since the beginning
- 27:05Speaker 1: of time. We're going to go to war and you'd
- 27:07Speaker 1: go to a stadium. It's literally set up like the
- 27:09Speaker 1: Coliseum where it's like, all right, that's where we got
- 27:12Speaker 1: the inspiration from. And now the battle is the same
- 27:15Speaker 1: thing as it was when we were, I don't know,
- 27:17Speaker 1: warriors in Rome.
- 27:18Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 27:19Speaker 1: One team versus the other. Just the difference is hopefully
- 27:22Speaker 1: nobody dies before the whole team died. And then that sucks.
- 27:27Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 27:27Speaker 1: I don't know. I love it. I have dreams still
- 27:29Speaker 1: where I'm still playing. You do? This is so sad
- 27:33Speaker 1: because I'm about to be 30, but I literally, within
- 27:35Speaker 1: the last week, I had a sad moment to myself.
- 27:38Speaker 1: I was like, I'll never play tackle football again.
- 27:41Speaker 2: That is sad, though.
- 27:42Speaker 1: It is. I will not.
- 27:44Speaker 2: But I mean, that's one thing you and Tom Brady
- 27:46Speaker 2: have in common.
- 27:47Speaker 1: I know, but that's why you see these players get
- 27:50Speaker 1: so emotional. That part of their life will never happen again.
- 27:53Speaker 1: That brought them so much joy. That brought out a
- 27:56Speaker 1: side of them that It's hard to find in any
- 27:59Speaker 1: other place. Like, where do I get to, like, take
- 28:00Speaker 1: out of my aggression and, like, beat up somebody legally here? Can't.
- 28:04Speaker 1: I can't. Unless I'm a fighter. And I honestly, truthfully,
- 28:07Speaker 1: I don't want to get punched in the face. I
- 28:08Speaker 1: don't want to get punched. But tackling somebody, it's so
- 28:11Speaker 1: weird to explain, such a good feeling.
- 28:14Speaker 2: Just say you want to hook up with men. Just
- 28:18Speaker 2: say that.
- 28:20Speaker 1: It's something within us. It's something deep down that we
- 28:23Speaker 1: have to solve for ourselves. Yeah. One of the things
- 28:25Speaker 1: that I've been thinking about a lot as that thought came,
- 28:28Speaker 1: I also thought, I was like, wow, as I'm about
- 28:29Speaker 1: to be 30, I wonder if there's any regrets of
- 28:32Speaker 1: my 20s. No. If there's anything that, hmm, I wish
- 28:35Speaker 1: I could have done differently or that I could change
- 28:38Speaker 1: in my 30s. Like, is there anything that comes to
- 28:40Speaker 1: mind for you of, like, things you would have done
- 28:42Speaker 1: this past decade? And I kind of got this thought
- 28:44Speaker 1: because of the tech situation with your guy the other
- 28:47Speaker 1: day where it's like, damn it, I should. I need
- 28:49Speaker 1: to F around and find out more.
- 28:50Speaker 2: Which, by the way, people are asking what happened afterwards. Nothing.
- 28:53Speaker 1: I just didn't.
- 28:54Speaker 2: I texted my friend Tori and I was like, I
- 28:56Speaker 2: think it's actually low key. So it's so Samantha Jones.
- 29:01Speaker 2: Do you know who she is?
- 29:03Speaker 1: Is that the sex in the city?
- 29:04Speaker 2: Yeah. She's like the very like flirtatious, sexually confident. I'm like,
- 29:08Speaker 2: it's so Samantha Jones to just like drop a random
- 29:11Speaker 2: compliment like that. And then just like never.
- 29:13Speaker 1: Speak back right back into the bush.
- 29:14Speaker 2: And then just be like, OK, bye. Like, I can
- 29:16Speaker 2: just say that and I'm fine with it.
- 29:17Speaker 1: Bye.
- 29:18Speaker 2: It's actually kind of a power move if you think
- 29:20Speaker 2: about it it is it is because i know he's
- 29:24Speaker 2: more into me than i'm into him so it's kind
- 29:26Speaker 2: of like oh oh you looked good okay bye.
- 29:29Speaker 1: Yeah i just want to let you know that i
- 29:30Speaker 1: still see you but i don't need you.
- 29:31Speaker 2: It's a little toxic and men have been torturing women
- 29:33Speaker 2: for centuries so i feel like this is one notch
- 29:37Speaker 2: in the belt about you know, kind of getting back
- 29:40Speaker 2: at the patriarchy.
- 29:41Speaker 1: Taking back your power. Yeah. All these men wasting your time.
- 29:43Speaker 2: What did I really have to lose? Like, I don't
- 29:45Speaker 2: want to, I'm not trying to date this man.
- 29:46Speaker 1: You know what I mean?
- 29:47Speaker 2: I was just feeling some type of way on Sunday.
- 29:48Speaker 2: I'm like, let me just stir the pot a little bit.
- 29:50Speaker 1: I've had friends though that have gone back out with
- 29:52Speaker 1: people that they've tried to go out with like a
- 29:53Speaker 1: couple of years ago. And they're just, I don't know,
- 29:55Speaker 1: maybe trying to see if personalities changed. vibes change just
- 29:59Speaker 1: kind of yeah let me go revisit this i used
- 30:01Speaker 1: to not like pizza now i like let me try
- 30:03Speaker 1: yeah and try it again it could it be that
- 30:05Speaker 1: situation or.
- 30:06Speaker 2: No no i think um i don't know i'm i'm
- 30:09Speaker 2: really big on following your gut and um my gut
- 30:12Speaker 2: just never at any point said yeah yeah yeah yeah
- 30:16Speaker 2: um because i've dated people i've dated like maybe two
- 30:21Speaker 2: or three people to where I really liked them, but
- 30:25Speaker 2: there was some kind of compatibility issue, if that makes sense. Like,
- 30:27Speaker 2: for example, I dated a guy when I was in
- 30:29Speaker 2: my early 20s who I really struggled with because we
- 30:34Speaker 2: were so life-wise incompatible. Like, he just had nothing of
- 30:39Speaker 2: what I was looking for in a life partner.
- 30:40Speaker 1: Yes.
- 30:41Speaker 2: And so here's, I guess, a good example of me
- 30:44Speaker 2: having regrets from my 20s is I just have always
- 30:47Speaker 2: taken life very seriously.
- 30:48Speaker 1: Like, I just.
- 30:51Speaker 2: Um, I have a very specific idea for what I
- 30:52Speaker 2: want my life to look like. And because of that,
- 30:54Speaker 2: I feel like I've been able to accomplish things. So like,
- 30:56Speaker 2: that's my worldview is always do the thing that, you know,
- 30:59Speaker 2: is right. Like, especially on paper and don't really let
- 31:04Speaker 2: yourself get distracted by frivolous things like a fling that's
- 31:08Speaker 2: going nowhere. And so I guess maybe I wish I
- 31:11Speaker 2: would have relaxed a little bit more because I think
- 31:13Speaker 2: I could have had just like a little bit more fun. Um,
- 31:17Speaker 2: and maybe not self-sabotaged in areas of my life where
- 31:21Speaker 2: I could have just like had a dumb fling with
- 31:23Speaker 2: a boy that I knew was going to end. But
- 31:25Speaker 2: I think I just didn't want to like, I was
- 31:27Speaker 2: also really interested in somebody else at the time, like very,
- 31:30Speaker 2: very seriously. So I'm like, why am I messing around
- 31:31Speaker 2: with this dude when I actually really, really like that guy.
- 31:34Speaker 2: But the other regret I have with that guy that
- 31:37Speaker 2: I was seriously interested in is I held myself back
- 31:41Speaker 2: from fully putting myself out there with him. Because I
- 31:44Speaker 2: was so scared of being rejected by him. Yeah. Because
- 31:47Speaker 2: I cared so much that I held myself back a
- 31:51Speaker 2: little bit. And that backfired on me.
- 31:54Speaker 1: Mm-hmm.
- 31:55Speaker 2: So.
- 31:55Speaker 1: Yeah, because our brain starts telling us all the stories of, like,
- 31:58Speaker 1: what if he does reject me? And, like, what if
- 31:59Speaker 1: he doesn't want me like this?
- 32:00Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 32:01Speaker 1: That part sucks. Like, it's crazy because I still, every
- 32:03Speaker 1: now and then, I catch my brain doing that now. Mm-hmm.
- 32:05Speaker 1: Where it's like, ooh, be careful. Be careful. I'm like, brain,
- 32:08Speaker 1: chill out.
- 32:08Speaker 2: Just relax.
- 32:09Speaker 1: Let's just, like, enjoy this moment. Like, there's literally nothing
- 32:11Speaker 1: here that's happening.
- 32:12Speaker 2: Mm-hmm.
- 32:13Speaker 1: That's going wrong. You're making it up and you're giving
- 32:16Speaker 1: me anxiety and you're making me stress out. And old
- 32:19Speaker 1: me like this is, for example, like over the weekend
- 32:21Speaker 1: with my girlfriend, like every now and then my brain's like, oh, gosh,
- 32:25Speaker 1: is she happy? Is she worried about something? Are you
- 32:28Speaker 1: not planning? Are you not really stepping up as a man?
- 32:30Speaker 1: And I was like, brain, like chill the F out.
- 32:33Speaker 1: You're trying to rewire. Like I have past situations that
- 32:37Speaker 1: that would have crumbled me. I would have got quiet,
- 32:40Speaker 1: maybe even a little upset, ruin the plans. And I'm
- 32:43Speaker 1: so glad that I could recognize it now because now
- 32:45Speaker 1: I can catch that thought and be like, we're just
- 32:47Speaker 1: going to go with the flow. We're going to take today.
- 32:48Speaker 1: Like forget yesterday. I don't know what's happening tomorrow, but
- 32:50Speaker 1: I want to take today and just make that the
- 32:53Speaker 1: judge of the situation, which is so hard. I think
- 32:56Speaker 1: my regrets would be very similar. We're taking life too
- 33:00Speaker 1: seriously and not being just spontaneous enough with adventure. Yeah.
- 33:06Speaker 2: Yeah. Like when life happens to you, almost trying to
- 33:09Speaker 2: control the outcome too much. It's sort of like my
- 33:12Speaker 2: philosophy when I watch reality TV shows, when I see
- 33:14Speaker 2: people trying to overly produce their storyline, which might not
- 33:18Speaker 2: make sense if you don't have, if you don't watch
- 33:20Speaker 2: like The Bachelor. Like when someone has watched The Bachelor
- 33:23Speaker 2: too many times and they come on and basically try
- 33:25Speaker 2: and play the game instead of just existing.
- 33:27Speaker 1: Just being themselves.
- 33:28Speaker 2: Because the people that, because they want to either get
- 33:30Speaker 2: clout or have a career after this or end up
- 33:32Speaker 2: with the guy. And so they're producing themselves in a
- 33:33Speaker 2: certain way. those people are always the least entertaining people
- 33:37Speaker 2: to watch because you can tell they're, like, too sentient.
- 33:39Speaker 2: And so I almost wonder if I've done that too
- 33:41Speaker 2: much in my life to where I'm, like, I'm overly
- 33:43Speaker 2: producing myself in order to just make a certain outcome happen,
- 33:47Speaker 2: whereas I kind of feel like there's just forces beyond
- 33:49Speaker 2: our control to where, like, things are just going to
- 33:51Speaker 2: happen the way they're going to happen.
- 33:52Speaker 1: Yeah, like, I look online, and I think one of
- 33:54Speaker 1: the things that I look at is, like, people that
- 33:55Speaker 1: live in vans. And there was a point in my
- 33:57Speaker 1: life I almost wanted to do that.
- 33:58Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 33:58Speaker 1: I was like, no, I got to have my career. Well,
- 34:01Speaker 1: that's the thing. You're right. It is never too late. However...
- 34:05Speaker 1: I do feel like the consequences are a little bigger now.
- 34:07Speaker 1: Like I could have done that when I was 23
- 34:09Speaker 1: and been able to recover by this time. But now, again,
- 34:12Speaker 1: maybe this is a good time to talk about it
- 34:14Speaker 1: because I'm like, well, in my head, what I think
- 34:17Speaker 1: I can control is, all right, well, like a house
- 34:19Speaker 1: probably soon, a family probably soon. Like I don't have
- 34:24Speaker 1: the freedom in my head. I don't have the freedom
- 34:28Speaker 1: to just bleep it, get in a van, spend some
- 34:30Speaker 1: money and just travel for a year. But I almost
- 34:32Speaker 1: did that. When I was 24, I was like, I'm
- 34:34Speaker 1: going to get in a van and just leave. I
- 34:36Speaker 1: have the money. I'm going to go.
- 34:37Speaker 2: But why not? Just in a hypothetical world.
- 34:40Speaker 1: Hypothetical.
- 34:42Speaker 2: Let's say you went into Jenna's office and said, I
- 34:44Speaker 2: want to end this contract tomorrow. Which I don't even
- 34:47Speaker 2: know if legally you can do, but whatever.
- 34:48Speaker 1: I get sued. I mean, I think, well, money would
- 34:53Speaker 1: be an issue. But some of us, this is what
- 34:55Speaker 1: I've learned a lot in myself and in psychology. We
- 34:58Speaker 1: all have different needs. Some of us have a bigger
- 35:00Speaker 1: need for certainty. And some people have a bigger need
- 35:02Speaker 1: for uncertainty where it's like my certainty is stronger than
- 35:05Speaker 1: my uncertainty. I need to know I have enough money
- 35:07Speaker 1: in order to survive, thrive and continue to build to
- 35:11Speaker 1: make sure that I could support a family one day
- 35:13Speaker 1: where it's like other people are like, I'll make it.
- 35:16Speaker 1: I'll be all right. I'll go with what I have.
- 35:18Speaker 1: And I know I'll make money eventually. If I just
- 35:21Speaker 1: go into the office and I say, you know what?
- 35:24Speaker 1: I think I'm just going to travel the world. The
- 35:27Speaker 1: side of me that's like you are going to run
- 35:29Speaker 1: out of money. You've done so much in this career
- 35:31Speaker 1: to get to where you are. You're now finally like
- 35:33Speaker 1: doing decent. You want to sabotage that? But the evidence
- 35:38Speaker 1: and what I would tell somebody else is like you've
- 35:39Speaker 1: built it once. You can build it again. Yeah. So
- 35:41Speaker 1: why not? But now I don't really desire that as much.
- 35:44Speaker 1: Now it's not the desire to go travel out to
- 35:47Speaker 1: the desert and climb a mountain and live in a van.
- 35:50Speaker 1: I'm good. I like where I'm at now. I like
- 35:52Speaker 1: the idea of having a house. Like, staying inside actually
- 35:55Speaker 1: sounds a lot more fun to me. Like, so I'm
- 35:57Speaker 1: not having those same regrets as I'm going into my 30s. Yeah.
- 35:59Speaker 1: But I definitely could recognize when people used to say,
- 36:02Speaker 1: you should F up more in your 20s. I wish
- 36:04Speaker 1: I would have listened. Because I don't think... It's very
- 36:06Speaker 1: similar to yours. Like, I don't think I F'd up
- 36:08Speaker 1: enough and just go in for crazy ideas or crazy risks.
- 36:12Speaker 1: I mean, going for this, kind of, because it definitely
- 36:15Speaker 1: didn't do anything in the beginning. But it was pretty calculated.
- 36:19Speaker 1: I knew what I was trying to do.
- 36:20Speaker 2: It's also easier to say that when you're on the
- 36:22Speaker 2: other side, too. Like, I... I also understand that if
- 36:24Speaker 2: you're somebody in your early 20s listening and being like
- 36:26Speaker 2: okay because we feel so much pressure now that I'm
- 36:29Speaker 2: sure that there's a 40 year old version of us
- 36:30Speaker 2: looking back and going 100% why did we give why
- 36:33Speaker 2: were we thinking about kids we didn't even have yet.
- 36:35Speaker 1: Do you know what I mean yes like.
- 36:37Speaker 2: You're not you not I'm not saying it's gonna happen
- 36:39Speaker 2: but you and Brianna could break up tomorrow and then
- 36:43Speaker 2: are you making decisions for a future that's not even
- 36:45Speaker 2: really certain.
- 36:46Speaker 1: That's do you know what I mean But then how
- 36:48Speaker 1: do you make sure you're ready for that future?
- 36:50Speaker 2: No, I know.
- 36:50Speaker 1: That's what's tough.
- 36:51Speaker 2: But I think that's totally valid. But also, I think
- 36:55Speaker 2: it's important. And I wonder if that's why sometimes people
- 36:58Speaker 2: go through like a midlife crisis in the same way
- 36:59Speaker 2: that maybe we're going through a quarter life crisis is
- 37:02Speaker 2: your quarter life crisis is sort of like panicking that
- 37:04Speaker 2: you're not ready for the future that you want to build.
- 37:06Speaker 2: And then once you get to the place that you
- 37:08Speaker 2: want to build, you wonder if you didn't do all
- 37:09Speaker 2: the things you're supposed to do in your 20s. And
- 37:11Speaker 2: it's sort of like a reverse, you know, crisis. So,
- 37:15Speaker 2: I mean, I think it's important to be as selfish
- 37:17Speaker 2: as you can for as long as you can. Because
- 37:18Speaker 2: at some point, just knowing you, you will take on
- 37:21Speaker 2: the responsibility of getting married to someone and having kids.
- 37:25Speaker 2: And I think it's important that you don't deny yourself
- 37:28Speaker 2: the things you want to do. Even if you just
- 37:29Speaker 2: go in a van for, like, two weeks.
- 37:31Speaker 1: That's true.
- 37:31Speaker 2: Like, what if Scotty just went on the road and
- 37:33Speaker 2: did the radio for two weeks in a van?
- 37:35Speaker 1: That's true. And just lived that life so I could
- 37:36Speaker 1: get a taste of it. Yeah.
- 37:37Speaker 2: Because I've thought about that, too. I'm like. Because one
- 37:39Speaker 2: of my goals is I would love to spend at
- 37:42Speaker 2: least two weeks, but ideally a month. I just want
- 37:44Speaker 2: to live in the UK for a month. I'm like,
- 37:46Speaker 2: what could I do? Can you get your show to
- 37:50Speaker 2: a point where it would be interesting for the audience
- 37:53Speaker 2: to hear you broadcast from London?
- 37:54Speaker 1: Now, that's a good goal.
- 37:55Speaker 2: Do you know what I mean?
- 37:56Speaker 1: Because that way you're still doing something in your life,
- 37:58Speaker 1: but not letting the other part of your life hold
- 37:59Speaker 1: it back.
- 37:59Speaker 2: That's what I mean.
- 38:00Speaker 1: Oh, I like... Actually, that makes a lot of sense.
- 38:02Speaker 1: You know what I mean?
- 38:03Speaker 2: I think there's a way, especially... And that's why I
- 38:05Speaker 2: got into this field, is... I grew up privileged enough
- 38:09Speaker 2: to where I felt like I could be selfish. Like,
- 38:11Speaker 2: I think being a woman and also growing up in
- 38:13Speaker 2: a very heteronormative environment, I didn't think, and I kind
- 38:17Speaker 2: of regret this now, I'm like, I didn't think, like,
- 38:20Speaker 2: what job should I get in order to make a
- 38:21Speaker 2: certain amount of money? And I think some of that's
- 38:23Speaker 2: my parents' fault, and I have a little bit of
- 38:24Speaker 2: resentment about that. Like, they don't tell you how much
- 38:27Speaker 2: money they make or how much money other jobs make,
- 38:31Speaker 2: they're just kind of like, well, I'm not telling you
- 38:32Speaker 2: what I make. And it makes you so vulnerable and
- 38:36Speaker 2: ignorant in the world to where I'm like, when I
- 38:38Speaker 2: tell you when I applied for broadcast journalism, I had
- 38:41Speaker 2: no idea what kind of salary that would give me
- 38:45Speaker 2: and what that even meant in the context of the world. Like,
- 38:48Speaker 2: for example, an entry level salary as a as a journalist,
- 38:51Speaker 2: it's like around 30 or thirty five thousand dollars, which
- 38:54Speaker 2: to me felt like so much money when I was 22. Yeah.
- 38:57Speaker 2: When you're first getting paid, which to be fair in
- 38:59Speaker 2: 2019 was a little bit different now. But like nobody
- 39:04Speaker 2: told me, hey, if you want to live a certain lifestyle,
- 39:07Speaker 2: you need to make one hundred and fifty thousand dollars.
- 39:09Speaker 2: And these are the careers that will do that for you.
- 39:11Speaker 2: I just thought, well, I'm going to get married and
- 39:13Speaker 2: have kids one day. So I just want to go
- 39:15Speaker 2: down to breakfast. So in a way, it kind of
- 39:17Speaker 2: worked out in my favor because I got to do
- 39:18Speaker 2: the things that I like. But also, you know, you know,
- 39:23Speaker 2: kind of left me ignorant to shit.
- 39:24Speaker 1: Oh, my God. Yeah. When you realize the bigger picture
- 39:27Speaker 1: of like that's like what I'm facing right now, it's like, OK.
- 39:30Speaker 1: if I'm just future casting a house, a new car
- 39:34Speaker 1: like these are big ass payments. Yeah. And, you know,
- 39:38Speaker 1: it's I don't even know how I would have survived
- 39:42Speaker 1: like any other. I don't know. My other careers were
- 39:46Speaker 1: going to be actually getting me paid more than what
- 39:47Speaker 1: I get paid now.
- 39:48Speaker 2: What was your number two? Like, if you weren't doing this,
- 39:50Speaker 2: what would you have done?
- 39:51Speaker 1: Well, I was going to go for physical therapy. Okay.
- 39:52Speaker 1: And then if that didn't work out, the next thing
- 39:54Speaker 1: I was trying to go through is physical education. Be
- 39:56Speaker 1: like a coach.
- 39:57Speaker 2: Like a P.E. teacher?
- 39:58Speaker 1: I see. I don't think a P.E. teacher, but maybe
- 40:00Speaker 1: let's say around there. I think I would thrive as
- 40:03Speaker 1: like a personal trainer. Or like a strength coach.
- 40:05Speaker 2: I actually think you'd be a great personal trainer.
- 40:07Speaker 1: I still might. Because there's. That's a part of like.
- 40:10Speaker 1: There's an itch. That I want to have scratched. Yeah.
- 40:12Speaker 1: Like I do it for free already. I might as
- 40:13Speaker 1: well get paid for it.
- 40:14Speaker 2: No honestly.
- 40:14Speaker 1: But I also know that profession. I guess statistically. Doesn't
- 40:18Speaker 1: get paid that much.
- 40:19Speaker 2: Well it depends on who your clientele is.
- 40:21Speaker 1: That's exactly right. That's exactly right. Like don't get pigeonholed from.
- 40:25Speaker 1: I guess that's why. I didn't do good on statistics.
- 40:28Speaker 1: Because I don't really like statistics. Like there's always. Outliers.
- 40:31Speaker 1: You know. Like. I feel like there's. That's why this
- 40:34Speaker 1: industry is weird, because there's outliers. I remember coming in,
- 40:37Speaker 1: my first contract was like, oh, my God, I guess
- 40:39Speaker 1: I'm going to Uber and DJ every weekend because I
- 40:41Speaker 1: can't pay rent. Versus there's other people that are like, oh,
- 40:43Speaker 1: my God, I've never seen a bigger house. And we're
- 40:45Speaker 1: in the same industry?
- 40:46Speaker 2: Wow. Are you talking about, like, the big hitters here?
- 40:48Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 40:49Speaker 2: Well, they also got into the industry at a different time.
- 40:51Speaker 1: Different time. But it does give you the opportunity to
- 40:54Speaker 1: do other things. Like, just because of what you're in,
- 40:56Speaker 1: you now have access to... to do other things with
- 40:59Speaker 1: the title that you're given. I'm speaking for myself with
- 41:01Speaker 1: like hosting and speaking.
- 41:02Speaker 2: Gotcha.
- 41:03Speaker 1: Yeah. It does help. And I wouldn't have been able
- 41:05Speaker 1: to get that in other careers. So I think those
- 41:07Speaker 1: would have been the other two that I, I'm happy
- 41:10Speaker 1: with where I ended up and there might be more,
- 41:13Speaker 1: there might be more in store.
- 41:15Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 41:15Speaker 1: I don't know. I don't know where that future.
- 41:16Speaker 2: Lies, but personal trainer, Scotty, I dare to lift a weight.
- 41:20Speaker 1: Dare to, dare to crunch, dare to lift. Yeah. Maybe.
- 41:25Speaker 1: Are you okay? Like, future cast for yourself. Is there another, like,
- 41:29Speaker 1: cause you're already doing the, Oh, not too big, but
- 41:32Speaker 1: like you could take your travel business and make it
- 41:34Speaker 1: even bigger.
- 41:35Speaker 2: I could, I think, yeah, I'm struggling with trying to
- 41:38Speaker 2: even figure out what I want to do. Cause I'm like,
- 41:41Speaker 2: I just didn't really think past 30, which sounds, that's
- 41:44Speaker 2: where I'm at too, which is so dumb. Like I
- 41:45Speaker 2: thought I'd just be married and like somebody's mom by now,
- 41:48Speaker 2: which I'm, I'm glad that my life didn't take that term,
- 41:51Speaker 2: which I'm not saying like being a wife and mother
- 41:53Speaker 2: would have been any problem. I'm glad that I'm like, I,
- 41:57Speaker 2: I'm glad that I just get to live my life.
- 42:00Speaker 2: And the only really goal I have for myself right
- 42:02Speaker 2: now is more financial independence.
- 42:04Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
- 42:05Speaker 2: Like I didn't realize how important that would be to me.
- 42:09Speaker 2: Just like having like it's your life insurance policy. Like
- 42:13Speaker 2: nobody can tell you what to do, where to go
- 42:15Speaker 2: if you make a certain amount of money. And I'm like,
- 42:18Speaker 2: I feel a little bit of resentment that I didn't
- 42:21Speaker 2: that I went into life so ignorant. I'm just like, whatever.
- 42:24Speaker 2: I'll just make marry some dude.
- 42:25Speaker 1: Yeah. I wish I was taught Better financial skills at
- 42:29Speaker 1: a younger age.
- 42:29Speaker 2: Yeah, financial literacy.
- 42:31Speaker 1: Yeah, like, that would have helped a lot in, like,
- 42:32Speaker 1: the early 20s of really getting locked in with that.
- 42:37Speaker 1: But learning it now, and some people, it takes even longer.
- 42:40Speaker 1: What do you want that money to go towards, though?
- 42:41Speaker 1: Because if you want to build that financial, like, independence,
- 42:44Speaker 1: what is, like, your thought of what you would want
- 42:46Speaker 1: to do with it?
- 42:46Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, I would like to have, I would
- 42:49Speaker 2: like to buy my own place one day. Like, that's
- 42:51Speaker 2: something I never thought I'd be able to do, and
- 42:52Speaker 2: I got so close last year. And so that was
- 42:55Speaker 2: incredibly disappointing to not be able to get to do that.
- 42:58Speaker 2: So for me, that looks like just getting to do
- 43:01Speaker 2: what I want, when I want, how I want.
- 43:04Speaker 1: Yeah, like giving you the freedom of like, let's just
- 43:06Speaker 1: say hypothetically, you're like, you know what? I'm going to
- 43:08Speaker 1: just travel for a year. You have the freedom to
- 43:10Speaker 1: do it.
- 43:11Speaker 2: Yeah, but I don't have the money to do that.
- 43:12Speaker 1: Okay, well, yeah, that's a few.
- 43:14Speaker 2: And I feel incredibly grateful that I have the money
- 43:16Speaker 2: just to travel internationally now. Like I'm planning all my
- 43:20Speaker 2: trips for 2027 now and I'm in a big text
- 43:22Speaker 2: group thread with all the girls and I'm thinking- you know,
- 43:25Speaker 2: because I have this travel business to set up, set
- 43:27Speaker 2: up the way that it is. Like I, I can't
- 43:29Speaker 2: like if, you know, people come on a trip with me,
- 43:32Speaker 2: I can go. So seeing, you know, I almost feel
- 43:35Speaker 2: bad when people are like, Oh, I can probably only
- 43:37Speaker 2: do one trip. I'm like, wow, I'm really taking this
- 43:38Speaker 2: for granted. The fact that like, I'm like, how many
- 43:40Speaker 2: trips do we want to go on guys? Um, so
- 43:43Speaker 2: for me, like I love traveling, but I don't know
- 43:45Speaker 2: that I'd want to do it full time. The only
- 43:47Speaker 2: other thing I wanted to do growing up that I
- 43:49Speaker 2: would consider a dream job is I used to love
- 43:51Speaker 2: this girl named, or not this girl, this woman, who
- 43:53Speaker 2: hosted a show on Discovery or the Travel Channel called
- 43:57Speaker 2: Great Hotels, named Samantha Brown.
- 43:59Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 43:59Speaker 2: There's Samantha Brown. She'd just go to different hotels around
- 44:02Speaker 2: the world and be like, this is a great hotel.
- 44:04Speaker 1: Yeah, like it's literally, you're hosting a show that's just
- 44:06Speaker 1: showing off very nice places. I love those kind of shows.
- 44:08Speaker 2: I would love to do that. And I considered like
- 44:11Speaker 2: taking weekend trips while living here, just like going to
- 44:13Speaker 2: different hotels, but hotels are so expensive.
- 44:15Speaker 1: That's, yeah. You get paid to do it.
- 44:17Speaker 2: And there's so many people that want to do that,
- 44:19Speaker 2: that it's such a competitive industry that I'm like, I
- 44:21Speaker 2: don't even know how you... get started in that.
- 44:23Speaker 1: I feel like most people get started just by posting it. Yeah.
- 44:26Speaker 1: Like they're like, I'm going to do it for a
- 44:27Speaker 1: little bit and hopefully it takes off.
- 44:29Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 44:29Speaker 1: I was watching yesterday, last night. Again, as I'm in
- 44:32Speaker 1: this car buying process, it's so hard because I'm like,
- 44:34Speaker 1: what is going to be something that I'm going to
- 44:36Speaker 1: really like three years down the line? Like, yeah, I
- 44:39Speaker 1: can buy it for a week and it's going to
- 44:40Speaker 1: be awesome. Like three years. Is it going to have
- 44:41Speaker 1: enough room? Is it going to.
- 44:43Speaker 2: You got to stop thinking that far in advance. I know.
- 44:46Speaker 2: When that happens, you can figure it out.
- 44:47Speaker 1: That's what I've reminded myself. Like maybe the car that
- 44:49Speaker 1: I go for now, yeah, just have fun with it.
- 44:52Speaker 1: Enjoy it. And you'll figure it out when the next
- 44:55Speaker 1: chapter of life begins.
- 44:56Speaker 2: Yeah, don't think about the next, next chapter. You're not
- 44:58Speaker 2: even in the next chapter.
- 44:59Speaker 1: That's true.
- 45:00Speaker 2: You're currently in chapter one.
- 45:01Speaker 1: It's a big book.
- 45:03Speaker 2: Yeah, it's a big book.
- 45:04Speaker 1: But I was watching these videos last night of this
- 45:06Speaker 1: thing called Edmunds. Have you ever heard of Edmunds? They
- 45:08Speaker 1: do car reviews. Never knew about it until now.
- 45:11Speaker 2: Oh, I used to love car reviews. I love them.
- 45:13Speaker 2: Consumer Report?
- 45:14Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 45:14Speaker 2: That was my shit.
- 45:15Speaker 1: I never cared about it until now, but I'm watching
- 45:17Speaker 1: last night. I'm watching, like, 30-minute videos of just, like, SUVs. Yeah.
- 45:21Speaker 1: They're talking about the specs and all these things, and
- 45:23Speaker 1: I'm like, I wonder how they got started with them.
- 45:25Speaker 1: And now they're so credible, but I'm sure it was, like,
- 45:27Speaker 1: a couple people that were like, we really need to
- 45:29Speaker 1: get deeper into this subject because, what, are you just
- 45:32Speaker 1: going to listen to the dealership? Of course they want
- 45:34Speaker 1: you to buy their car. And so they have all
- 45:36Speaker 1: these videos online. Mm-hmm. And eventually, I'm sure they're now
- 45:39Speaker 1: making a ton of money. But at first, it was
- 45:41Speaker 1: probably like, all right, guys, we're just going to talk
- 45:43Speaker 1: about these cars really in depth. And hopefully somebody does
- 45:45Speaker 1: something with it.
- 45:45Speaker 2: And you've got to really believe in it.
- 45:47Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 45:47Speaker 2: You've got to really believe in it.
- 45:48Speaker 1: You've got to fight for it. I saw a sad video.
- 45:51Speaker 1: Not sad. It wasn't that sad, guys. But it was
- 45:53Speaker 1: a guy online. He was like, I guess I'm going
- 45:55Speaker 1: to finally get a real job. And he's like a
- 45:57Speaker 1: pursuing artist. He's like a musician. He's like, this is
- 45:59Speaker 1: the first time ever. Like, I have to go and
- 46:01Speaker 1: get a job instead of pursuing my dream. And of course,
- 46:03Speaker 1: everybody in the comments is like, you could do both.
- 46:05Speaker 2: No.
- 46:06Speaker 1: It's hard. It's hard when you have that realization of like,
- 46:10Speaker 1: all right, well, we have to pivot. And it might
- 46:13Speaker 1: look different than it did originally. And that's always happening.
- 46:16Speaker 1: But it's fun to think of what are going to
- 46:20Speaker 1: be the things that change in this next chapter. What
- 46:22Speaker 1: are the things I'm changing for my 20s that I'm
- 46:24Speaker 1: looking forward to more in my 30s? And I'm sure
- 46:26Speaker 1: if you're in your 40s or 50s and you have
- 46:28Speaker 1: something to say about it, leave the comments or DM
- 46:30Speaker 1: because I'm very interested on how you hear that of
- 46:33Speaker 1: us being 29 and being like, I don't have time
- 46:35Speaker 1: to do this anymore. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 46:37Speaker 2: I think it's funny, like, you hit 30 and you
- 46:38Speaker 2: realize how young you are.
- 46:40Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
- 46:40Speaker 2: Instead of feeling like 30 is so old, I'm like, oh,
- 46:42Speaker 2: my God, I have so much time to figure out
- 46:44Speaker 2: something new.
- 46:44Speaker 1: That's why I think I'm so excited about it. It's like,
- 46:47Speaker 1: now I have a little bit of experience, my brain
- 46:49Speaker 1: works a little differently, and I have a little bit
- 46:52Speaker 1: of money to back me up. Mm-hmm. All right. Is
- 46:55Speaker 1: this where life really begins? I don't know.
- 46:58Speaker 2: Maybe.
- 46:59Speaker 1: Let's find out.
