- 0:15Speaker 2: The forecast looks like this, few morning showers, warmer, then
- 0:19Speaker 2: severe afternoon thunderstorms roll in with destructive wind gusts that
- 0:24Speaker 2: quote can disrupt travel, and there could be an isolated
- 0:27Speaker 2: tornado and some of the thunderstorms will continue into tonight.
- 0:31Speaker 2: We'll get up to sixty nine today down to thirty
- 0:33Speaker 2: nine tonight, and it looks like this weather might hang
- 0:36Speaker 2: around into the evening. It'll be much cooler tonight. Now
- 0:39Speaker 2: that you've got the forecast, Chili, what are your thoughts
- 0:42Speaker 2: on all of this stuff? I mean, well, I know

- 0:58Speaker 3: timeline of when some of this tornadic activity might happen.
- 1:02Speaker 3: Because you know what you don't want are kids walking

- 1:21Speaker 2: reminds me of that durrachl.
- 1:22Speaker 4: Yeah, it could be.
- 1:24Speaker 3: And then you know when we lost power back then,
- 1:26Speaker 3: we forgay for almost a week. So hopefully make sure
- 1:30Speaker 3: you're charging your phones now, have some backup plans, and
- 1:34Speaker 3: if there is some sort of warning that comes through
- 1:37Speaker 3: on your phone, get to a lower level of your
- 1:41Speaker 3: home away from windows.
- 1:42Speaker 2: Yeah, right, thinking inside closets, somewhere where you can stay safe.
- 1:47Speaker 2: Not trying to be like alarming this early in the morning,
- 1:50Speaker 2: but it is something that people are talking about, and
- 1:52Speaker 2: it's part of a much bigger weather situation that's uh
- 1:56Speaker 2: facing a whole bunch of the country this morning. So

- 4:50Speaker 2: Make your thinking as funny as possible. The best ideas
- 4:54Speaker 2: come as jokes, David Ogilvey says, make your thinking as
- 4:58Speaker 2: funny as possible. I think it means that creativity, being
- 5:02Speaker 2: what it is, thrives where curiosity intersects humor. So where
- 5:07Speaker 2: those two meet, that's where you find creativity. Just running amuck,
- 5:12Speaker 2: So crack some jokes, think funny. In doing so, you'll
- 5:17Speaker 2: unlock your creativity this brand new week. Keep that in
- 5:20Speaker 2: mind from David Olgivie and if you need to hear
- 5:21Speaker 2: it again, you can check the stories outs on our Instagram,
- 5:26Speaker 2: or you can get over to the Tooby and Chilipage

- 5:42Speaker 3: Back in just minutes, we're going to talk about the
- 5:44Speaker 3: top moments adults say they would want to freeze in time. Well,
- 5:49Speaker 3: and we'll also share ours coming up in just a
- 5:52Speaker 3: few minutes on ninety seven point one wash FM.
- 5:55Speaker 2: I hear the song by share if I could turn
- 5:58Speaker 2: back time and freeze a moment or two. It's ninety
- 6:02Speaker 2: seven point one watch FM. You got Toby and Chili
- 6:05Speaker 2: in the morning. We're bringing this up because.
- 6:07Speaker 3: They did a survey with adults and they asked them
- 6:10Speaker 3: what moment would you want to freeze in time? And
- 6:12Speaker 3: the number one answer overwhelmingly holding their child for the
- 6:16Speaker 3: first time.
- 6:17Speaker 2: Well, that's the softball answer. Well that's all this, I
- 6:20Speaker 2: think if you have kids, that's the one thing you
- 6:23Speaker 2: remember most.
- 6:24Speaker 3: You know, coming in second family gathering where everybody was
- 6:27Speaker 3: still together, and running out the top three, an unforgettable
- 6:30Speaker 3: family vacation.
- 6:31Speaker 4: Oh yeah, yeah, holiday, that's right, that's right. All of
- 6:35Speaker 4: those outranked the wedding day.
- 6:36Speaker 3: Though potentially the wedding day wouldn't be mine, right if
- 6:40Speaker 3: we were to remove holding our kids for the first time?
- 6:43Speaker 3: Uh huh, what comes to mind is something you'd want
- 6:45Speaker 3: to freeze in time.
- 6:46Speaker 2: There was a time that I played golf with my
- 6:48Speaker 2: grandmother and I really got to see her competitive spirit
- 6:53Speaker 2: and fire, so much so that she said some words
- 6:57Speaker 2: that she told me not to tell my dad that
- 6:59Speaker 2: I heard her on the golf course. Let me tell you,
- 7:02Speaker 2: my Mimi was a Southern bell. But boy, when she
- 7:05Speaker 2: got on that golf course and she unleashed.
- 7:07Speaker 5: Huh.
- 7:08Speaker 2: I never asked her what it was like to play
- 7:09Speaker 2: with my grandfather Papa back in the day. But if
- 7:12Speaker 2: I could relive a moment, that would be one of
- 7:14Speaker 2: those moments, especially now that I know how to play
- 7:17Speaker 2: a little bit better than I did back then.
- 7:18Speaker 3: You know, yes, yes, And what about you also a
- 7:21Speaker 3: family member? My mother before she passed, and we know
- 7:25Speaker 3: she was very sick. I would love to freeze our wonderful,
- 7:29Speaker 3: very deep and meaningful conversations towards the end of her life,
- 7:33Speaker 3: knowing that the end was near, and just really letting
- 7:37Speaker 3: her in on a lot of stuff and her sharing
- 7:39Speaker 3: a lot of things with me. That's a magical thing.
- 7:42Speaker 3: And I'm glad we had that before she.
- 7:44Speaker 4: It really is, Yeah, it really is.
- 7:46Speaker 2: Anybody who's ever lost somebody that's been close to the
- 7:49Speaker 2: member of family like that. You know that those are
- 7:52Speaker 2: moments that you will want to hold in your heart forever.
- 7:55Speaker 2: So if you're listening to us this morning and you've
- 7:57Speaker 2: got a moment that you would love to freeze into time,
- 8:00Speaker 2: tell us what it is. At eight sixty six ninety
- 8:02Speaker 2: seven forty three sixty one talkbag microphones wide open for
- 8:05Speaker 2: you too. If you're signed in listening on your iHeart app,

- 8:17Speaker 2: would want to freeze it in time forever.
- 8:19Speaker 4: Stay with us.

- 8:31Speaker 1: up on top stories, top of the hour.

- 8:37Speaker 3: today because of severe storms this afternoon. We've got the
- 8:40Speaker 3: latest on that story and more on the way with
- 8:44Speaker 3: Toby and Chili in the morning. On ninety seven point
- 8:46Speaker 3: one wash FF.

- 8:55Speaker 3: lot of school systems dismissing early or closed. You can

- 9:03Speaker 3: foreign minister said the country is not seeking a ceasefire
- 9:07Speaker 3: or talks and is prepared to defend itself as long
- 9:10Speaker 3: as necessary. Meanwhile, President Trump said Iran's military has been decimated,
- 9:15Speaker 3: but stopped short of declaring victory, noting that it could
- 9:17Speaker 3: take over a decade for Iran to rebuild, even if
- 9:20Speaker 3: US troops withdrew immediately. Multiple teens were arrested after gunfire
- 9:26Speaker 3: erupted at Navy yard gathering on Saturday night, where around
- 9:29Speaker 3: two hundred people had gotten together. Police say no one
- 9:33Speaker 3: was struck by gunfire and that most teens disperse before
- 9:37Speaker 3: the city's eleven pm curfew. Southwest Airlines will stop all
- 9:42Speaker 3: flights to and from Dallas Airport starting June fourth, as
- 9:46Speaker 3: part of a network realignment. The airline that will continue
- 9:50Speaker 3: service at Reagan National and BWI. Howard University's men's and
- 9:55Speaker 3: women's basketball teams have their NCAA tournament matchup set. Howard's
- 9:59Speaker 3: men team will face UMBC in the first four and
- 10:03Speaker 3: the women's team will play Ohio State as a fourteenth
- 10:06Speaker 3: seed in the first round. And according to a recent survey,
- 10:10Speaker 3: two thirds of adults are slumber stitious, meaning they follow
- 10:14Speaker 3: routines to make sure they get good sleep. Most prefer
- 10:17Speaker 3: a regular bedtime, sleeping on the right side of the
- 10:20Speaker 3: bed with two pillows and sixty six degrees. Yet Americans
- 10:25Speaker 3: report only about ten perfect nights of sleep a month.
- 10:29Speaker 3: Forecasts for the DC area we face a rare moderate
- 10:33Speaker 3: risk of severe storms today with potential for damaging winds,
- 10:37Speaker 3: heavy rain, and even possible tornadoes this afternoon with highs
- 10:41Speaker 3: around seventy right now sixty one in Poolsville.
- 10:44Speaker 4: And that is the news.
- 10:45Speaker 2: Don't forget you get top Story's Top of the hour
- 10:48Speaker 2: right here on ninety seven point one wash FM.
- 10:50Speaker 4: It's just another.
- 10:51Speaker 2: Feature of Toby and Chilly in the morning when you
- 10:54Speaker 2: wake up with us now coming up in a few minutes.
- 10:57Speaker 2: Kelly Clarkson. She gave a very revealing interview last week.
- 11:02Speaker 2: She says she never got the car she was promised
- 11:06Speaker 2: for winning American Idol. Oh but wait, there's more and
- 11:10Speaker 2: so we got to know, there's something that you were
- 11:13Speaker 2: promised that turned out to be a gigantic disappointment. What
- 11:17Speaker 2: was it the numbers eight sixty six, nine two, seven,
- 11:19Speaker 2: forty three, sixty one.
- 11:21Speaker 4: We're talking about it next, stay with us. What is
- 11:24Speaker 4: something you.
- 11:25Speaker 2: Were promised once upon a time that turned out to
- 11:27Speaker 2: be a disappointment. Let's talk about this ninety seven point
- 11:31Speaker 2: one watch FM orre Toby and Chilly in the Morning.
- 11:33Speaker 2: And the reason why we bring it up is because
- 11:35Speaker 2: Kelly Clarkson, well, she was reliving those moments like this
- 11:40Speaker 2: when she won American Idol back in the day, season one.
- 11:43Speaker 3: If you remember, the winner of Idol was promised a
- 11:46Speaker 3: million dollars.
- 11:47Speaker 4: And a brand new car.
- 11:49Speaker 3: That's right, Well, Kelly never got the car, even though
- 11:52Speaker 3: her car was busted and she was hoping she would
- 11:54Speaker 3: get it. They never delivered. Honestly, Oftentimes these things suck
- 11:58Speaker 3: so bad because somebody promised you one version and you
- 12:03Speaker 3: had an expectation. Like the thing that comes close in
- 12:06Speaker 3: my memory is like when we were going on our honeymoon.
- 12:09Speaker 3: We were promised like this amazing honeymoon, sweet at this
- 12:13Speaker 3: resort and we get there, which, by the way, Bora, Bora, Hello.
- 12:17Speaker 3: It was beautiful, sure, but it was more underwhelming, like
- 12:20Speaker 3: all the stuff that was supposed to be included. I
- 12:22Speaker 3: was like, what's basic If this is the honeymoon.
- 12:25Speaker 2: Hiring a travel agent over that? Did you guys have
- 12:27Speaker 2: a travel agent, I'd be like, you sold me a
- 12:29Speaker 2: bill of goods.
- 12:31Speaker 4: No cabin, the.
- 12:32Speaker 3: Hut was fine, over the water, but all this other
- 12:34Speaker 3: stuff that was supposedly going to come in the package.
- 12:37Speaker 7: I was like, Okay, where's my massage, my couple's massage,
- 12:40Speaker 7: where's my my bubbly? Can you think of a time
- 12:43Speaker 7: where yes, this is the most disappointing thing ever. My
- 12:47Speaker 7: dad and I played a father son golf tournament at
- 12:50Speaker 7: this country club we were members of growing up. We
- 12:53Speaker 7: ended up winning the tournament, right, but I didn't take
- 12:57Speaker 7: golf lessons. It's Western Lean, the country club just outside
- 13:01Speaker 7: of Houston. No, And because I didn't take golf lessons,
- 13:05Speaker 7: guess what I won. I might have been first place,
- 13:08Speaker 7: but there was a gigantic asterisk after my name. I
- 13:11Speaker 7: guess I want an asterisk because they didn't give me
- 13:12Speaker 7: any prizes because I didn't take the golf lessons.
- 13:15Speaker 3: The catch was you had to have taken lesson.
- 13:17Speaker 2: I wanted the prize cup. I wanted like at least something.
- 13:21Speaker 2: I mean, we played our butt talks as.
- 13:23Speaker 3: Though you should have read the fine print.
- 13:24Speaker 4: I didn't know there was fine print.
- 13:26Speaker 2: I was a kid anyway, But I still think of
- 13:29Speaker 2: that to this dand is there's something that you were
- 13:31Speaker 2: promised once upon a time that turned out to be
- 13:33Speaker 2: a total disappointment.
- 13:34Speaker 5: What was it?
- 13:35Speaker 2: Eight six six ninety two, seven forty three sixty one.
- 13:37Speaker 2: That's our number, Talk back words too. If you want
- 13:39Speaker 2: to shoot us a quick voice message via the iHeart
- 13:42Speaker 2: app if you're signed in either or get a hold
- 13:44Speaker 2: of us, tell us your story.
- 13:46Speaker 4: Can't wait to hear it.
- 13:47Speaker 2: It's ninety seven point one wash FM, and we'll get
- 13:49Speaker 2: to those stories coming up. All right, let's get back
- 13:52Speaker 2: to it, Tobya Chilly in the morning, talking about something
- 13:55Speaker 2: you were promised and it turned out to be a disappointment.
- 13:58Speaker 2: Here at ninety seven point one, watch at them where
- 14:01Speaker 2: the number is eight sixty six ninety two, seven forty
- 14:03Speaker 2: three sixty one, Talk back wide Open too.
- 14:06Speaker 3: Last week we learned Kelly Clarkson said she never got
- 14:09Speaker 3: that car that she was promised when she won American idol.
- 14:13Speaker 2: Oh Man, and they made a big deal out of
- 14:15Speaker 2: that car, her and Justin Goreini and that video they
- 14:18Speaker 2: filmed together. And you know, it just got us thinking
- 14:23Speaker 2: about things that can be disappointments. Something you were promised
- 14:27Speaker 2: that just didn't turn out to be what you thought
- 14:29Speaker 2: it would be. So what's your story? Eight six, six,
- 14:32Speaker 2: nine two, seven forty three sixty one. Tom, Good morning
- 14:35Speaker 2: in Silver Spring. What's going on?
- 14:36Speaker 5: My wife promised that we would go on vacation this year,
- 14:39Speaker 5: but that fail through.
- 14:41Speaker 6: Uh oh, why what happened?
- 14:43Speaker 5: We can't get the same time off as each other,
- 14:45Speaker 5: and the kids are in school. Lut's. We just don't
- 14:47Speaker 5: have enough money in the budget for anything significant. I
- 14:50Speaker 5: mean there's always next year.
- 14:52Speaker 3: Start coordinating those schedules.
- 14:54Speaker 2: Now, Cheryl, Good morning in Oakton. What's going on this morning?
- 14:59Speaker 5: I d said fast paced, exciting environment, and that turned
- 15:03Speaker 5: out to me. Three people quit and now I do
- 15:06Speaker 5: all of their jobs.
- 15:07Speaker 3: Oof, and I bet you don't get all three of
- 15:09Speaker 3: their salaries.
- 15:12Speaker 2: It's always that way, isn't it. In a more flatter
- 15:15Speaker 2: and nimble environment at the workplace. Hey, Cheryl, she'll do
- 15:19Speaker 2: all of it. She won't ask pretty extra money. Well,
- 15:22Speaker 2: it's fast paced, all right, yeah, right, eight six six,
- 15:26Speaker 2: seven forty three sixty one. To add your voice to
- 15:28Speaker 2: the chorus this morning, tell us about something you were
- 15:31Speaker 2: promised that turned out to be a disappointment. We're listening
- 15:35Speaker 2: and stay there because next with Toby and Chiley in
- 15:38Speaker 2: the morning.

- 16:59Speaker 3: sees no reason to talk with the US, blaming Washington

- 26:10Speaker 3: expect and when we're.
- 26:12Speaker 5: Expecting a pretty large area of thunderstorms to track across
- 26:15Speaker 5: the region late this afternoon into the evening. There may

- 26:42Speaker 3: weather happening.
- 26:43Speaker 5: Probably are abound dark, maybe some residual showers, but those

- 26:51Speaker 2: Well, that's a good thing, so the kids can expect
- 26:53Speaker 2: a full day of school tomorrow.
- 26:57Speaker 5: Let's help. So one of the things also depends on
- 27:00Speaker 5: how this evolves in what happens, But depending on if
- 27:03Speaker 5: there's a lot of damage and power outages, who knows
- 27:05Speaker 5: how this is going to actually end up panning out.
- 27:08Speaker 5: We haven't had a modern risk for severe thunders from
- 27:10Speaker 5: since August at twenty twenty three. That was a pretty
- 27:13Speaker 5: bad event. We had two DOREDD five reports of severe
- 27:15Speaker 5: weather in the mid Atlantic alone.
- 27:17Speaker 7: Wow.
- 27:17Speaker 3: Well, thank you Brendan for giving us an idea for
