- 0:19Speaker 2: Of course, that Kevin.
- 0:20Speaker 3: Show is going to be great.
- 0:21Speaker 1: The only thing that could be greater, of course, would
- 0:22Speaker 1: be that Donald Show, but we don't have that.

- 0:59Speaker 4: Friday on That Kevin Show and now from mcconnor's and
- 1:09Speaker 4: Sullivan Bodcast Studios. A man who is not what he
- 1:13Speaker 4: wants to be, that is way grateful, that is not
- 1:17Speaker 4: who he used to be.
- 1:18Speaker 1: Here here all right, Welcome in, Kevin mcallaugh. Glad to
- 1:26Speaker 1: have you with us. Thank you for being here. We've
- 1:29Speaker 1: got so much to get to today, friends, and I
- 1:31Speaker 1: just want to say thank you for all of the
- 1:34Speaker 1: good that you are doing. I got a very special
- 1:37Speaker 1: report this morning from Food for the Poor, and I'm
- 1:40Speaker 1: going to spend some time this hour thanking someone who
- 1:43Speaker 1: did something very special yesterday. I see this and it
- 1:49Speaker 1: just makes my heart just jump for joy, jump for
- 1:54Speaker 1: joy when I see what happened yesterday. And I just
- 1:58Speaker 1: want to tell you we have done on some amazing stuff.
- 2:02Speaker 1: In fact, let me let me do the math while
- 2:04Speaker 1: I'm sitting here talking to you about it all. But
- 2:06Speaker 1: it is when when I when I get reports like
- 2:09Speaker 1: this to start the day, I just I cannot It's
- 2:13Speaker 1: just almost impossible for me to then have a bad
- 2:18Speaker 1: day because when I know that we are making a
- 2:22Speaker 1: difference in the world. And I've said this so many times,
- 2:24Speaker 1: there are so many of you that that on a
- 2:29Speaker 1: regular basis, when I say, hey, here's something that we
- 2:32Speaker 1: can do to change the world, there are so many
- 2:36Speaker 1: of you that say, I want in, I want to
- 2:38Speaker 1: be part of it. Please let me let me jump in.
- 2:43Speaker 1: And I just it. There are no words. I feel
- 2:50Speaker 1: truly blessed and grateful to feel like I steward the
- 2:54Speaker 1: greatest and have the greatest radio audience on the planet.
- 2:59Speaker 1: You care deeply, and you don't just say that you care,
- 3:02Speaker 1: You show that you care, and it just it blows
- 3:06Speaker 1: me away. Well, last night, late in the night, some
- 3:10Speaker 1: very special things happen, friends, and we have now surpassed
- 3:15Speaker 1: the five hundred and sixty fifth kid that was hungry
- 3:23Speaker 1: and whose name has been taken off the list of
- 3:25Speaker 1: the original seven hundred and twenty. Actually, five hundred and
- 3:30Speaker 1: sixty eight children have been cared for because of your care,
- 3:37Speaker 1: and that leaves one hundred and fifty two to go
- 3:40Speaker 1: to get to our seven twenty. There are some of
- 3:46Speaker 1: you right now that could do a twelve thousand dollars
- 3:54Speaker 1: gift and take care of the rest of the one
- 3:57Speaker 1: hundred and fifty two children that are there. There's someone
- 4:02Speaker 1: listening right now. I know that that's the case that
- 4:05Speaker 1: you could. Somewhere in America, someone's done really well. They're
- 4:11Speaker 1: getting a lot more back on taxes than they realized.
- 4:13Speaker 1: The Big beautiful Bill has impacted their tax status, and
- 4:18Speaker 1: they want to do something fantastic for God. They want
- 4:21Speaker 1: to do something fantastic for their fellow man. They want
- 4:24Speaker 1: to see the world made into a better place. And
- 4:28Speaker 1: there's someone listening to me right now, who could do
- 4:33Speaker 1: a twelve thousand dollars gift. That's what it would take
- 4:38Speaker 1: for the next one hundred and fifty two children, the
- 4:43Speaker 1: final one hundred and fifty two children on the list
- 4:45Speaker 1: to be taken care of. And I know that that's
- 4:48Speaker 1: the case because someone already gave a gift bigger than
- 4:51Speaker 1: that this year, in this campaign. But here's what I
- 4:55Speaker 1: want to say, and I'll make this happen. Step up
- 5:00Speaker 1: and do this. We will make this happen. If there's
- 5:04Speaker 1: someone listening right now who would be willing to give
- 5:10Speaker 1: five thousand dollars or more, we would really need two
- 5:14Speaker 1: people to do six thousand dollars each. I will meet
- 5:19Speaker 1: you for dinner. I will pay for your meal. We
- 5:22Speaker 1: will spend an evening together, and you can you can
- 5:25Speaker 1: ask me about anything you wish, God, faith, news, politics,
- 5:29Speaker 1: it's all, it's all in the mix. We will go.
- 5:32Speaker 1: We will go full bore. But if you call right
- 5:35Speaker 1: now eight five five nine zero seven four six seven
- 5:41Speaker 1: three eight five five nine zero seven four six seven three,
- 5:46Speaker 1: I will take you to dinner, I'll bring you to
- 5:49Speaker 1: New York, or I'll come to meet you. But we'll
- 5:53Speaker 1: do it one way. Or the other, and then we
- 5:55Speaker 1: will we will chat about anything and everything that you
- 5:59Speaker 1: might have on your mind as it relates to the
- 6:01Speaker 1: news of the day. Five thousand dollars or more given
- 6:05Speaker 1: right now will get you one of those invites. Eight
- 6:11Speaker 1: five five nine zero seven four six seven three eight
- 6:14Speaker 1: five five nine zero seven four six seven three. And
- 6:19Speaker 1: here's the other thing that I'm going to do to
- 6:20Speaker 1: sweeten the pot. If you're the first person to give
- 6:24Speaker 1: five thousand dollars right now at eight five five nine
- 6:27Speaker 1: zero seven four six seven three, I will match it personally.
- 6:33Speaker 1: That's a big challenge. But if you're the first one
- 6:40Speaker 1: eight five five nine zero seven four six seven three,
- 6:46Speaker 1: If you're the first one, I will match it personally.
- 6:48Speaker 1: And if you are able to give five thousand or
- 6:51Speaker 1: more right now, I will personally invite you to dinner,
- 6:57Speaker 1: Take you to dinner, meet you at dinner. If you
- 7:00Speaker 1: want to do it in Nashville or New York or Florida,
- 7:03Speaker 1: wherever you're at, I'll come to you, or you can
- 7:06Speaker 1: come here. New York has pretty good food, not gonna
- 7:11Speaker 1: lie be kind of tasty. But I want us to
- 7:17Speaker 1: take care of these kids that badly, and some of
- 7:21Speaker 1: you have really stepped up and given big gifts, and
- 7:24Speaker 1: some of you have given seventy five dollars, gifts that
- 7:27Speaker 1: outshine all of them, because that was the last seventy
- 7:32Speaker 1: five dollars you had. And you'd rather see a child
- 7:34Speaker 1: eat two meals a day and have clean drinking water
- 7:37Speaker 1: for the rest of the year for the next year
- 7:40Speaker 1: than to have that seventy five dollars for yourself and friends.
- 7:42Speaker 1: I see those gifts as well. It's my understanding you're
- 7:46Speaker 1: giving sacrificially and I am grateful all the way around.
- 7:51Speaker 1: And if you give five thousand dollars or more today,
- 7:56Speaker 1: you will get a dinner invite from me personally. Well,
- 8:01Speaker 1: we'll do it in your place or our place. Eight
- 8:04Speaker 1: five five nine zero seven four six seven three eight
- 8:07Speaker 1: five five nine zero seven four six seven three. But
- 8:10Speaker 1: I believe we can take care of all of the
- 8:13Speaker 1: remaining one hundred and fifty two kids today. It's seventy
- 8:16Speaker 1: five dollars apiece, by the way, that takes care of
- 8:20Speaker 1: one child. If we had just one hundred, if we
- 8:23Speaker 1: had seventy five of you take care of two kids
- 8:26Speaker 1: each a one time gift of one fifty just seventy
- 8:29Speaker 1: five of you go into the phones eight five, five,
- 8:33Speaker 1: nine zero seven four six seven three, we would knock
- 8:35Speaker 1: it out of the park. Okay, I got way late
- 8:38Speaker 1: on that. We've got a big show for you in
- 8:41Speaker 1: the second hour today. I've got I've got a monologue
- 8:45Speaker 1: prep for you that I told I turned it into
- 8:50Speaker 1: a town Hall dot com column as well. It's the
- 8:55Speaker 1: most important thing I've ever said or written on my
- 8:58Speaker 1: radio show or in my column. It's the most important thing.
- 9:04Speaker 1: Will you please make sure you're here at the beginning
- 9:06Speaker 1: of the next hour. I don't want you to miss it,
- 9:11Speaker 1: and I also want you to tell me what you
- 9:14Speaker 1: think of it. That Kevin Show at gmail dot com,
- 9:18Speaker 1: That Kevinshow at gmail dot com. But the real, simple
- 9:22Speaker 1: idea is this God's design is the word is the
- 9:26Speaker 1: Left's worst nightmare. That's the simple idea. We also have
- 9:32Speaker 1: a Graham Lots on the show today. John i Ello
- 9:35Speaker 1: is back, Erica Donald's my favorite future First Lady of
- 9:38Speaker 1: Florida is going to be with us, and from Tennessee,
- 9:43Speaker 1: Pastor Alan Jackson continues our discussion on how do we
- 9:47Speaker 1: live when we continue to stay here.
- 10:08Speaker 5: Here?
- 10:09Speaker 3: He is from New York. Kevin McCullough.
- 10:16Speaker 1: All right, welcome Wednesday is here, friends, Thank you for
- 10:20Speaker 1: making it. You get past today, you're on the down side.
- 10:23Speaker 1: You're headed towards the weekend, believe it or not, but
- 10:25Speaker 1: we're grateful to have you with us. It is time
- 10:28Speaker 1: to ask, as we do each weekday, how do we live?
- 10:31Speaker 1: How do we live in a culture that at the
- 10:34Speaker 1: very minimum is quite confused about who God is? But
- 10:37Speaker 1: usually they just don't really have much use for him,
- 10:39Speaker 1: especially if he's associated with the God of the Bible,
- 10:42Speaker 1: and aside from that, then they look at us and say, well,
- 10:47Speaker 1: why do you do that? You don't you want to
- 10:51Speaker 1: be like a normal person. And this is where we
- 10:54Speaker 1: put the rubber to the road, so to speak. It
- 10:57Speaker 1: is it is how we It is how we ourselves
- 11:00Speaker 1: so that we interact. And the reason that we do
- 11:02Speaker 1: this segment at the beginning towards the beginning of the
- 11:04Speaker 1: show each day is just just to be candid. In
- 11:08Speaker 1: our two I do nothing but news, and we talk
- 11:11Speaker 1: about applying what we know about God to the world
- 11:16Speaker 1: around us and how we view what's going on around us.
- 11:19Speaker 1: But I feel like we have to be drenched in
- 11:22Speaker 1: God's purposes, his truth, and his word before we get there.
- 11:26Speaker 1: So a little over a year ago we started asking
- 11:28Speaker 1: shepherds to join us. And this week I'm very pleased
- 11:31Speaker 1: to have a friend, Pastor Alan Jackson, who is the
- 11:34Speaker 1: senior pastor at World Outreach Church, and we're talking about
- 11:37Speaker 1: his new book, Lead with Faith, Using Your Influence for
- 11:40Speaker 1: God's Purposes. Matthew five is one of the kind of
- 11:44Speaker 1: big ideas in that book. But Pastor Jackson, before we
- 11:48Speaker 1: get into today's discussion, for people that are in the
- 11:52Speaker 1: Murphy's murph Freeseboro area and they want to worship with
- 11:56Speaker 1: you this weekend, where do they go?
- 11:58Speaker 6: Well, we are and Murphysboro and we have services on
- 12:01Speaker 6: Wednesday evening, Saturday evening and Sunday morning. Maybe the simplest
- 12:06Speaker 6: way is you can just go to the church website.
- 12:08Speaker 6: It's wo church dot org and it'll have all the
- 12:11Speaker 6: service times and information and directions.
- 12:13Speaker 1: There you go all right, hard to find glad to
- 12:16Speaker 1: do that, and of course you can watch him on
- 12:18Speaker 1: TBN weeknights and he's got his podcast Culture in Christianity
- 12:22Speaker 1: available as well. Pastor Jackson, we've been talking about leading
- 12:26Speaker 1: with Faith and we started rightfully in the home and
- 12:29Speaker 1: said if you're going to lead anywhere, you have to
- 12:32Speaker 1: be doing that in the house. And by the way,
- 12:35Speaker 1: good reminder, your kids will always be a really good
- 12:38Speaker 1: barometer as to whether or not you're leading hypocritically or not.
- 12:41Speaker 1: Like their hypocrisy meter is pretty high, so it's it's
- 12:45Speaker 1: a good training ground. But you make a point in
- 12:49Speaker 1: the book that if we are going to do that,
- 12:51Speaker 1: that it has to go outside our abode. Help us
- 12:55Speaker 1: understand this, you know, I.
- 12:57Speaker 6: Don't think it's complicated.
- 12:58Speaker 1: I think we've avoided it.
- 12:59Speaker 6: To be honest, if you're not standing for the truth
- 13:02Speaker 6: in our culture, then you are giving momentum to the
- 13:04Speaker 6: lies and deception and flourish around us, because without a
- 13:09Speaker 6: voice for truth, people will only hear the lies that
- 13:12Speaker 6: are being repeated.
- 13:13Speaker 1: You're amplifying what I talk about a lot of times
- 13:15Speaker 1: that says there is no such thing as an empty vacuum.
- 13:20Speaker 1: If you're not there, if you're not possessing it with
- 13:22Speaker 1: God in his truth, someone else.
- 13:24Speaker 6: Will absolutely And if you have influence in a secular
- 13:29Speaker 6: setting and the people that you're leading or that you're
- 13:32Speaker 6: working with don't know that you have a meaningful faith
- 13:36Speaker 6: in Jesus.
- 13:38Speaker 1: Then you're a deceiver.
- 13:39Speaker 6: Wow, you can't have a private faith that you hide
- 13:43Speaker 6: in public.
- 13:43Speaker 1: There's no such thing.
- 13:45Speaker 6: Jesus said, if that we wouldn't honor him before men,
- 13:48Speaker 6: that he wouldn't honor us before the Father. That's Matthew
- 13:51Speaker 6: ten thirty two of them.
- 13:52Speaker 1: I wants to check it.
- 13:53Speaker 6: But and we have given too much license and too
- 13:55Speaker 6: much permission that if you sit in church and a
- 13:58Speaker 6: firm a set of beliefs, and you can walk into
- 14:00Speaker 6: a corporate setting, or an academic setting, or any work setting,
- 14:03Speaker 6: any secular setting and not acknowledge your faith and you're okay,
- 14:08Speaker 6: And that's a lie. You can't segment and compartmentalize your life. No,
- 14:13Speaker 6: I don't say that to condemn people. I don't think
- 14:15Speaker 6: we have helped prepare them as fully as we might
- 14:17Speaker 6: or encourage them enough. But I think the analogy, and
- 14:21Speaker 6: I believe it holds up. It would be like me
- 14:23Speaker 6: holding the imagination that I'm married and I am and
- 14:26Speaker 6: that I'll be a very good husband when I'm at home,
- 14:30Speaker 6: but when I leave home, I can't afford to be
- 14:34Speaker 6: restricted by the boundaries of that covenant because it's a big,
- 14:38Speaker 6: wide world and I don't know what I'm.
- 14:40Speaker 1: Going to face.
- 14:42Speaker 6: And we have Christians all around us that are Christians
- 14:45Speaker 6: when they're in the house, and they bury their Christianity
- 14:49Speaker 6: when they leave the house, and that's not legitimate. That's
- 14:52Speaker 6: not a legitimate marriage, and that's not legitimate Christianity.
- 14:56Speaker 1: Well, and if we're thinking about I mean, the argument
- 14:59Speaker 1: that people with me a lot is, you know, keV,
- 15:02Speaker 1: why do you talk about politics and culture so much?
- 15:05Speaker 1: And I actually don't. I talk about politics and culture
- 15:08Speaker 1: probably less than I did fifteen years ago, because I
- 15:12Speaker 1: feel like, like you said on Monday, we got to
- 15:15Speaker 1: go back to this gentleman as a football. This is
- 15:17Speaker 1: like we're back to basics every day, and building on
- 15:21Speaker 1: those basics then prepares us and gives us the foundation
- 15:24Speaker 1: to then take on those battles in the culture. But
- 15:27Speaker 1: I think that even on a more personal level, Pastor Jackson,
- 15:31Speaker 1: in my own experience in the corporate arena, when I
- 15:35Speaker 1: have have been in those circumstances and they've known that
- 15:39Speaker 1: I'm a believer, there may be a good amount of
- 15:42Speaker 1: ribbing that goes on. There may be a good amount
- 15:44Speaker 1: of joking, of kidding, of teasing about hypocrisy of Christians.
- 15:49Speaker 1: They see elsewhere and so forth. But I've always found
- 15:51Speaker 1: this to be universally true. When something really hits the
- 15:55Speaker 1: fan in their life, they don't turn to the friends
- 15:58Speaker 1: that are in the corporate world that have told them, hey,
- 16:02Speaker 1: let's hit happy hour every day, let's go to the
- 16:04Speaker 1: strip club, let's do this, let's do that. They would
- 16:07Speaker 1: seek me out and say, can I talk to you
- 16:09Speaker 1: for a second, what does Jesus say about this? And
- 16:12Speaker 1: particularly in the post COVID universe, I've talked to a
- 16:15Speaker 1: lot of pastors across the country that seem to be
- 16:18Speaker 1: having more and more people coming to their congregations, coming
- 16:21Speaker 1: to their people asking those types of questions. Pastor, we
- 16:25Speaker 1: have to be available and they have to know that
- 16:27Speaker 1: we're there and that we actually do care and have
- 16:30Speaker 1: some answers for them.
- 16:31Speaker 6: Well, absolutely we do, Kevin, you know, and I agree
- 16:35Speaker 6: with you. I think COVID was a turning point. Hebrews
- 16:40Speaker 6: quoting Habacic, but he says that you know, God is
- 16:42Speaker 6: shaking the earth to reveal those things which are unshakable,
- 16:47Speaker 6: and I think COVID was was a shaking and we've
- 16:50Speaker 6: had several tremors since then. I think the homos attack
- 16:54Speaker 6: on October seventh was another tremor without doubt, and I
- 16:57Speaker 6: think because I wasn't prepared for the anti sh Semitism
- 17:00Speaker 6: that's come boiling out of the cracks after that's shaking.
- 17:04Speaker 6: But the essence of that is this courage to lead
- 17:08Speaker 6: in the public square. And it's not simple to do politics,
- 17:12Speaker 6: you know, And I commend you for engaging in current events.
- 17:15Speaker 6: I don't think about it being political. Politics is symptomatic.
- 17:19Speaker 6: Spiritual forces are causative. What we see happening in the
- 17:23Speaker 6: political arena, in the policy arena is reflective of the
- 17:28Speaker 6: spiritual influences that are predominant in our culture. But when
- 17:32Speaker 6: we talk about marriage being between a man and a woman,
- 17:34Speaker 6: that's not a political issue.
- 17:35Speaker 2: That's a biblical issue.
- 17:37Speaker 6: When we talk about a nuclear family and parental authority
- 17:40Speaker 6: over children, that's not a political issue.
- 17:42Speaker 1: That's a biblical issue.
- 17:44Speaker 6: We talked about the sanctity of human life, that's not
- 17:47Speaker 6: a political issue. Now all of those things are have
- 17:49Speaker 6: discussions in the political arena because politics is symptomatic of
- 17:54Speaker 6: the spiritual condition of our nation. And if we don't
- 17:58Speaker 6: talk about the symptoms, we can't fix the causal problems.
- 18:04Speaker 6: And we've been guilty. I'm a pastor, and pastors are
- 18:07Speaker 6: very guilty of this. We understand our congregations are very divided.
- 18:10Speaker 6: Our congregations are filled with people that are not unified
- 18:14Speaker 6: in their faith.
- 18:15Speaker 1: That's why we have church.
- 18:17Speaker 6: But if they bring up some of these topics, not
- 18:19Speaker 6: everybody's going to cheer, which makes the board angry or
- 18:23Speaker 6: the presbytery unhappy, and so there's pressure on pastors to
- 18:26Speaker 6: maintain unity. Jesus said, I came to bring division. I
- 18:32Speaker 6: didn't come to bring peace on the earth. So when
- 18:35Speaker 6: we say that we're only about bringing peace and unity,
- 18:39Speaker 6: we're not even following jesus assignment.
- 18:40Speaker 3: I know John seventeen when.
- 18:42Speaker 6: This great high priestly prayer where he prayed for unity,
- 18:45Speaker 6: but he was praying for unity amongst his disciples, those
- 18:47Speaker 6: that were fully committed to him. He wasn't trying to
- 18:51Speaker 6: bring unity when he looked at the scribes and the
- 18:53Speaker 6: Pharisees and he said, you're a bunch of snakes, a
- 18:55Speaker 6: bunch of white washed tombs. Your blind guides don't follow
- 18:58Speaker 6: these people.
- 18:59Speaker 3: So I think the.
- 19:00Speaker 6: Church has misunderstood some of our assignment. And I pray
- 19:03Speaker 6: more people find the courage that you demonstrate on a
- 19:06Speaker 6: daily basis to engage current events through the filter of
- 19:10Speaker 6: a biblical worldview.
- 19:12Speaker 3: And if we would all do that.
- 19:13Speaker 6: If you work in a hospital, bring a biblical worldview.
- 19:17Speaker 6: If they're murdering babies and mutilating teenagers.
- 19:21Speaker 2: Use your voice.
- 19:22Speaker 6: You don't have to be angry or belligerent, and you
- 19:24Speaker 6: certainly don't have to be violent, but we have to
- 19:26Speaker 6: bring the truth to bear.
- 19:28Speaker 1: Now, I think that that's so important to remember. And
- 19:33Speaker 1: even if you're you know, you're a quiet church mouse,
- 19:38Speaker 1: and you're saying I just don't I just don't do
- 19:40Speaker 1: much of anything in my workplace. Well, when you walk
- 19:42Speaker 1: in on Monday morning and somebody says, hey, how was
- 19:45Speaker 1: your weekend? What'd you do? I went to church? Why boom?
- 19:49Speaker 1: There's an opportunity talk about what God has done in
- 19:52Speaker 1: you and why it matters and begin and let it
- 19:56Speaker 1: begin there, because it's really remarkable how a testimony of
- 20:00Speaker 1: a personal relationship begins to turn the tide one on one.
- 20:05Speaker 1: And then, of course, as Pastor Jackson is talking about,
- 20:09Speaker 1: over time that moves into the cultural discussion, you will
- 20:14Speaker 1: be confronted with cultural issues. You will be confronted with
- 20:18Speaker 1: issues of compromise in the workplace, and your integrity and
- 20:23Speaker 1: your belief in Jesus will come to the fore. People
- 20:26Speaker 1: will seek it out, they will mock it, they will
- 20:28Speaker 1: let times ask about it, and there will be times
- 20:31Speaker 1: where you're also able to grow food from it. So friends,
- 20:34Speaker 1: I just hope that you'll do that. His book is
- 20:35Speaker 1: Lead with Faith, using your influence for God's purposes. Pastor
- 20:38Speaker 1: Alan Jackson is our guest this week with how Do
- 20:42Speaker 1: We Live? And Pastor Jackson looking forward to another great
- 20:44Speaker 1: time tomorrow. Thank you so much, Thank you, Kevin.
- 20:48Speaker 5: Let's stick around for more of that Kevin Next.
- 21:08Speaker 3: Here he is from New York. That Kevin is Kevin McCullough.
- 21:16Speaker 1: Thank you for being here. Kevin McCullough. Couldn't be happier
- 21:19Speaker 1: than to have you with us. It is that Kevin Show,
- 21:21Speaker 1: that Kevinshow dot com for everything related, and I hope
- 21:24Speaker 1: that you will follow us on all of our socials.
- 21:27Speaker 1: Be in touch with me at that Kevinshow dot com
- 21:30Speaker 1: via Gmail, that Kevin Show at gmail dot com if
- 21:33Speaker 1: you want to email me. Uh, and we've got a
- 21:36Speaker 1: lot that we're gonna still get to, but I have
- 21:39Speaker 1: to stop everything at this point in time, and I
- 21:42Speaker 1: have to say thank you to a very special listener.
- 21:49Speaker 1: A woman by the name of Marylyn, who was listening
- 21:52Speaker 1: at sometime late in the evening in California last night,
- 22:00Speaker 1: responded to our you know, desire to feed these kids
- 22:05Speaker 1: that we've been talking about with Food for the Poor.
- 22:09Speaker 1: And I'm just going to embarrass Marylyn completely because as
- 22:14Speaker 1: she was listening last night, something touched her heart and
- 22:18Speaker 1: she said, I want to be a part of giving
- 22:21Speaker 1: these children two meals a day and clean drinking water
- 22:26Speaker 1: for the next year. And there are those times when
- 22:32Speaker 1: people step up and they say things and you kind
- 22:34Speaker 1: of think, oh that, you know, it's nice that they're
- 22:36Speaker 1: doing that. I'm glad that they're doing that. But there
- 22:41Speaker 1: are those that also that say, you know, I want
- 22:43Speaker 1: to use my life and my resources and who I
- 22:48Speaker 1: am to make a difference. And so when Marilyn heard
- 22:54Speaker 1: us discussing it, and she knew that there was a
- 22:58Speaker 1: match in place, she said, well, what can I do?
- 23:03Speaker 1: How can I best help? And so she picked up
- 23:08Speaker 1: the phone and said, okay, for the next year, thirteen
- 23:13Speaker 1: children are what I want to help. And she just
- 23:18Speaker 1: gave the money and they're seventy five dollars each, So
- 23:23Speaker 1: she just one thousand dollars like that. But she did
- 23:27Speaker 1: it because she understands that children will go hungry and
- 23:35Speaker 1: die of thirst if we don't reach the seven hundred
- 23:38Speaker 1: and twenty children that are on the list. So she
- 23:42Speaker 1: took care of thirteen. Now, what she may or may
- 23:45Speaker 1: not have known was, at that very same time, there
- 23:47Speaker 1: was a match in place, so her thirteen children became
- 23:51Speaker 1: twenty six children. Friends, I want you to think about
- 23:58Speaker 1: the fact that that's the size of the average classroom
- 24:01Speaker 1: in American schools, And she said in one gift, I
- 24:06Speaker 1: want to see to it that an entire classroom of
- 24:08Speaker 1: kids that right now are starving right now, are not
- 24:12Speaker 1: getting two meals a day, right now, are not getting
- 24:15Speaker 1: clean drinking water. She decided in that moment, I want
- 24:21Speaker 1: to be the agent that changes the equation for those children.
- 24:28Speaker 1: And because it was being matched, an entire classroom of
- 24:31Speaker 1: kids is going to receive two meals a day and
- 24:38Speaker 1: all the clean drinking water that they can drink. And
- 24:43Speaker 1: if you want to think of it this way, for
- 24:46Speaker 1: the next year, she just ponied up for eighteen thousand
- 24:52Speaker 1: and ninety eight meals Maryland from California. You're my hero.
- 24:59Speaker 1: I'm so grateful that whatever prompted your heart, you said,
- 25:02Speaker 1: I want to be sensitive and I want to help kids,
- 25:07Speaker 1: and in one gift, boom an entire classroom, eighteen thousand
- 25:14Speaker 1: meals and enough clean drinking water for all of them
- 25:18Speaker 1: to go next year without ever dehydrating. Thank you, Marilyn,
- 25:23Speaker 1: Thank you for your heart. Thank you for quietly giving
- 25:28Speaker 1: in the middle of the night. I think it was
- 25:29Speaker 1: sometime after midnight when you gave. It was like three
- 25:33Speaker 1: o'clock New York time. But the fact that you were up,
- 25:38Speaker 1: you were listening, you were moved, and you said I
- 25:42Speaker 1: want to be part of the solution, it just touched
- 25:45Speaker 1: me incredibly. And I don't mean to make this just
- 25:52Speaker 1: about people who can give big gifts, but I do
- 25:54Speaker 1: want to mention someone else who I don't have permission
- 25:57Speaker 1: to use his name, But if you're a certain person
- 26:02Speaker 1: who lives in Levittown, New York, you know exactly what
- 26:04Speaker 1: you did earlier this year, And instead of eighteen thousand meals,
- 26:12Speaker 1: you gave one hundred and eighty thousand meals, and instead
- 26:18Speaker 1: of twenty six kids, you helped two hundred and sixty
- 26:22Speaker 1: kids because of the match. Two people, different means, different levels,
- 26:28Speaker 1: but both people that said I want to make a difference.
- 26:32Speaker 1: I want to help stem the suffering of children who
- 26:35Speaker 1: are right now aching in their belly because they don't
- 26:38Speaker 1: have food to eat, and I want to use my
- 26:42Speaker 1: resources to do something about it. And friends, if you
- 26:44Speaker 1: have as little as seventy five dollars right now, you
- 26:48Speaker 1: can provide two meals a day and all the clean
- 26:50Speaker 1: drinking water that child can consume for the next year.
- 26:54Speaker 1: Right now, that one time gift of seventy five dollars
- 26:56Speaker 1: will help one child. We are getting closer and closer
- 27:02Speaker 1: to helping all seven hundred and twenty children. We cannot
- 27:06Speaker 1: do this without you. We need your help and time
- 27:10Speaker 1: is running out for these kids. Every day that we
- 27:12Speaker 1: can't feed one of them, that's a day closer that
- 27:15Speaker 1: they get to possibly dying. So thank you to your
- 27:19Speaker 1: generous support, Thank you for your big heart, Thank you
- 27:24Speaker 1: for just wanting to do the right thing. Eight five

- 28:08Speaker 3: Here he is from New York. Ken Kevin McCullough.
- 28:16Speaker 1: Welcome back, Times Square, Kevin McCullough, that Kevin Show, that
- 28:19Speaker 1: kevinshow dot com and as I don't know how you've
- 28:24Speaker 1: transgressed the news of recent days, but for my family,
- 28:28Speaker 1: you know, the ankle biters, they always have their opinions
- 28:30Speaker 1: about their own things, and so when we're on our
- 28:32Speaker 1: way to church or wherever, there's always a discussion. And
- 28:36Speaker 1: I'm interested in seeing how the current events taking place
- 28:40Speaker 1: in Iran and other places are being discussed in my
- 28:43Speaker 1: kids classrooms, because it is not necessarily even what I
- 28:49Speaker 1: would report here, but much less what balanced reporting would
- 28:53Speaker 1: look like in the news. And that's just kind of
- 28:56Speaker 1: one little tiny tidbit of how education impacts what our
- 29:01Speaker 1: kids are understanding and learning and thinking through in the
- 29:04Speaker 1: day to day life. I don't tell my kids what
- 29:06Speaker 1: to think, but I'm trying to help them to learn
- 29:08Speaker 1: how to think critically. And someone else who cares about
- 29:11Speaker 1: that a lot is the CEO of the Education Freedom Foundation,
- 29:14Speaker 1: and I'm hoping like hope, like I really really hope
- 29:17Speaker 1: that she's the next First Lady of the State of Florida.
- 29:20Speaker 1: Erica Donald's back with us, Erica. It's always good to
- 29:22Speaker 1: see you. Thanks for being here.
- 29:24Speaker 7: Oh, thanks so much for having me. You're so kind.
- 29:26Speaker 1: The idea that schools shape our kids, even in the
- 29:30Speaker 1: midst of what we're watching going on in the news,
- 29:33Speaker 1: is that really does take place. And there are narratives
- 29:37Speaker 1: I've noticed in what my kids have brought home from
- 29:40Speaker 1: school and told me that teachers are saying about current events.
- 29:45Speaker 1: That's just one of the reasons why it's important for
- 29:47Speaker 1: parents to have a ton of options when it comes
- 29:49Speaker 1: to how they educate their kids. Is it not so true?
- 29:52Speaker 8: And so much more so now than before. You know,
- 29:54Speaker 8: I got involved in the school choice movement fifteen years ago,
- 29:57Speaker 8: and it was mostly about academic performance at the time,
- 30:00Speaker 8: But in recent years we've seen families want to make
- 30:03Speaker 8: a different choice outside of their zone public school based
- 30:06Speaker 8: on their value set and the fact that they don't
- 30:09Speaker 8: want teachers putting their viewpoints, especially political viewpoints, on their students.
- 30:14Speaker 8: They want teachers to help students think for themselves, think critically,
- 30:19Speaker 8: have in depth debate, and discussions. Not tell them what
- 30:22Speaker 8: to think, but tell them how to think, how to
- 30:25Speaker 8: find source information. And that's why we've seen such a
- 30:28Speaker 8: resurgence of classical education as well, especially in the school movement.
- 30:32Speaker 1: Let me ask you. I just got a press release
- 30:35Speaker 1: yesterday from a group that is detecting what they call
- 30:39Speaker 1: a rise in anti homeschooling. Now, homeschooling is always in
- 30:44Speaker 1: my book, had you know people that were opposed to it,
- 30:47Speaker 1: But are you sensing that that there's a new resurgence
- 30:52Speaker 1: against that particular option of what people sometimes exercise.
- 30:58Speaker 7: Well, it's not just a sense.
- 30:59Speaker 8: There is absolutely a backlash, and that's because homeschooling is
- 31:03Speaker 8: the fastest growing manner in which children are educated. Ever
- 31:07Speaker 8: since COVID, it's doubled across the country.
- 31:10Speaker 1: Well, he was to blame for that. Come on, we
- 31:13Speaker 1: saw what was going on on the zooms. You showed
- 31:17Speaker 1: it to us.
- 31:18Speaker 8: That's exactly right. And so parents are taking into their
- 31:21Speaker 8: own hands, and with technology and more school choice options,
- 31:25Speaker 8: more families feel equipped to homeschool their children. And we
- 31:29Speaker 8: see in polling that seven percent of parents are homeschooling.
- 31:33Speaker 8: Now again that's double from before COVID. Another seven percent
- 31:37Speaker 8: said that they would homeschool if they were able to
- 31:41Speaker 8: feelt like they could, maybe they have work or financial obligations.
- 31:44Speaker 8: Now what we're seeing in legislatures is a crackdown, if
- 31:48Speaker 8: you will, trying to put restrictions on families' ability to
- 31:51Speaker 8: exercise that choice. We've been able to beat that back
- 31:54Speaker 8: in New Jersey and Rhode Island in other states, but
- 31:58Speaker 8: certainly states, especially teachers unions are trying to exert additional
- 32:02Speaker 8: authority in taking away parents' ability to school at home.
- 32:06Speaker 8: But thankfully the teachers unions are losing. We have more
- 32:10Speaker 8: school choice options showing up or expanding every legislative session.
- 32:15Speaker 8: Texas just ended their window for enrollment in their new
- 32:19Speaker 8: school choice program, over two hundred and eighteen thousand applications
- 32:24Speaker 8: at the last count. Unfortunately that's only for about eighty
- 32:27Speaker 8: thousand spots. But in each of these situations, including the
- 32:31Speaker 8: federal tax credit scholarship launching next year, parents can use
- 32:35Speaker 8: those public funds to purchase curriculum, online courses, dual enrollment certifications,
- 32:41Speaker 8: things that they can use to equip them to homeschool
- 32:44Speaker 8: their children.
- 32:45Speaker 1: I know there are others that do it, but I'm
- 32:46Speaker 1: speaking thinking specifically, of Liberty University, which has for a
- 32:50Speaker 1: few years now had a homeschool curriculum that not only
- 32:54Speaker 1: met the standards necessary, but could qualify students for college
- 32:58Speaker 1: credit in the high school arena. Is this a trend
- 33:02Speaker 1: that we're going to continue to see?
- 33:04Speaker 9: Oh?
- 33:04Speaker 8: Absolutely, And Liberty actually has an entire K through twelve
- 33:07Speaker 8: school private online school that parents can access and in
- 33:11Speaker 8: many cases can use their public funding, their education scholarship
- 33:15Speaker 8: account dollars, and now they're five twenty nine dollars to
- 33:18Speaker 8: pay for those.
- 33:19Speaker 7: And you're going to.
- 33:20Speaker 8: See a lot more of that because it all goes
- 33:22Speaker 8: back to the free market, Like you said, when parents
- 33:25Speaker 8: become consumers, especially when they have availability of public funds,
- 33:29Speaker 8: and we have that free market competition and availability of
- 33:33Speaker 8: more consumers in the marketplace, you're going to see more
- 33:36Speaker 8: innovators come into this space, whether that's high institutes of
- 33:39Speaker 8: higher education offering things like this, or a mom who's
- 33:42Speaker 8: homeschooled or kids and created her own curriculum who wants
- 33:45Speaker 8: to put it online and sell it to other moms.
- 33:48Speaker 8: I hope that every type of innovator comes into the
- 33:51Speaker 8: education space and starts bringing new products into parents'.
- 33:55Speaker 1: Homes well we need the all of the above approach
- 33:58Speaker 1: that you were just describing. What other areas are you
- 34:02Speaker 1: seeing states adopt a school choice in twenty twenty six
- 34:06Speaker 1: and what are some of the initiatives that the Education
- 34:08Speaker 1: Freedom Foundation would like to see advance this year.
- 34:11Speaker 8: Well, we're seeing expansion of space in Tennessee just yesterday
- 34:16Speaker 8: actually it started moving through the legislature to double the
- 34:19Speaker 8: number of seats because they had fifty four applications last
- 34:22Speaker 8: year for only twenty thousand seats. So we're going to
- 34:24Speaker 8: start to see more improvement and fewer wait lists I
- 34:27Speaker 8: think in the existing school choice programs. But the big
- 34:30Speaker 8: issue is supply. We are seeing so many weight lists
- 34:33Speaker 8: because we don't have enough schools to accommodate the demand
- 34:37Speaker 8: from families. And that's what Education Freedom Foundation really focuses on.
- 34:41Speaker 8: We help people start schools and bring education programs to
- 34:44Speaker 8: the marketplace so that parents can access them.
- 34:46Speaker 1: If people wanted to know more about how they could
- 34:49Speaker 1: help in their local area, how do they get in
- 34:51Speaker 1: touch with you guys to become part of the team.
- 34:54Speaker 8: So Education Freedom Foundation is at your edfreedom dot org.
- 34:57Speaker 8: There's resources for parents there. Most importantly, there is a
- 35:01Speaker 8: free start a school toolkit. That could mean being a
- 35:05Speaker 8: homeschool parent, It could mean starting a micro school, a
- 35:08Speaker 8: private school, a charter school. But we have experienced, as
- 35:11Speaker 8: you know, I started six charter schools and have gotten
- 35:13Speaker 8: approval for private schools in seventeen states. So we know
- 35:17Speaker 8: what it takes to come to market in the school
- 35:19Speaker 8: choice movement, and we can help parents do it or
- 35:21Speaker 8: education entrepreneurs. Many teachers are starting their own schools. So
- 35:25Speaker 8: that's at your edfreedom dot org. All the resources you
- 35:28Speaker 8: need for free.
- 35:29Speaker 1: Your edfreedom dot org, your edfreedom dot org and you
- 35:35Speaker 1: can learn more and do all of that there. Erica
- 35:37Speaker 1: Donald's always appreciate you. Thank you for spending some time
- 35:40Speaker 1: with us.
- 35:40Speaker 8: Thank you so much for having me.
- 35:42Speaker 1: You got it. Kevin McCullough coming back to Times Square,
- 35:44Speaker 1: don't go away, stick around for more of fat Kevin.
- 35:52Speaker 5: Next, serving it up with a no drink minimal.
- 36:06Speaker 3: It's that kind of.
- 36:08Speaker 1: Show, all right, Kevin McCulla Thanking you for those of
- 36:11Speaker 1: you that have been with us today. Again, the challenge
- 36:14Speaker 1: is very simple. There's one hundred and fifty children that
- 36:18Speaker 1: we have not yet spoken for of the seven hundred
- 36:20Speaker 1: and twenty, which means We've done an amazing thing. Five
- 36:24Speaker 1: hundred and seventy children have been fed for the next
- 36:27Speaker 1: year and have clean drinking water for the full year,
- 36:29Speaker 1: two meals a day. By the way, thank you for
- 36:33Speaker 1: everyone who's been part of that. But we also have
- 36:38Speaker 1: some wood to chop in. Those remaining one hundred and
- 36:40Speaker 1: fifty and twelve thousand dollars would cover that entire thing.
- 36:45Speaker 1: And I've issued a challenge. If you will give a
- 36:48Speaker 1: gift to five thousand dollars or more, I will have
- 36:50Speaker 1: dinner with you. We will work it out, we will
- 36:53Speaker 1: make it happen. I will spend the evening. You can
- 36:56Speaker 1: have friends, We will pelt me with questions, we will
- 37:00Speaker 1: we will have a wonderful night of conversation about politics, news, faith, God, Jesus,
- 37:10Speaker 1: anything and everything that is of interest to you. But
- 37:13Speaker 1: five thousand dollars. Everyone who gives five thousand or more
- 37:17Speaker 1: from this point in the campaign to the end, I
- 37:20Speaker 1: will award that to them. There's also this little thing too,
- 37:26Speaker 1: and that is if you're the first one to give
- 37:27Speaker 1: five thousand dollars today, the mccallough family is going to
- 37:31Speaker 1: match you. So if you give six thousand dollars and
- 37:35Speaker 1: you were the first one. We're going to give six,
- 37:40Speaker 1: So that's that's underway as well. Here's the phone number
- 37:42Speaker 1: eight five five nine zero seven four six seven three
- 37:45Speaker 1: eight five five nine zero seven four six seven three.
- 37:49Speaker 1: All right, coming up next hour. I mentioned this earlier
- 37:54Speaker 1: this hour. The most important monologue I've ever done on
- 37:58Speaker 1: this show will be at the beginning of the next hour.
- 38:01Speaker 1: I have something to say that was keeping me awake
- 38:04Speaker 1: at three am this morning, And as I grabbed my
- 38:08Speaker 1: writing device and started to put these thoughts down, I
- 38:11Speaker 1: just I could not unsee what I saw. I was
- 38:14Speaker 1: so overcome with this central revelation of obvious truth that
- 38:21Speaker 1: I don't think I've ever heard anybody say, at least
- 38:23Speaker 1: in the way that I'm planning on saying it. So
- 38:26Speaker 1: will you stay with me through to the next hour
- 38:28Speaker 1: and at least hear me out on that. But beyond that,
- 38:32Speaker 1: John Ayella is going to be back with us from
- 38:34Speaker 1: an organization called Open the Bible. Their entire focus at
- 38:38Speaker 1: that organization is to get you to be more inquisitive
- 38:41Speaker 1: about what's in the pages of scripture. Just get inside
- 38:46Speaker 1: there and see what's in look under the hood like
- 38:50Speaker 1: that's their whole that's their whole goal is just to
- 38:53Speaker 1: create within you a curiosity about what's in the between
- 38:59Speaker 1: the covers of Sure, we've got a very special event
- 39:03Speaker 1: coming up with open the Bible, and I want you
- 39:05Speaker 1: to know about that as well. He'll be with us.
- 39:07Speaker 1: And then you may know the name Billy Graham, and
- 39:11Speaker 1: you may know his daughter Ann Graham, who became Am
- 39:14Speaker 1: Graham and Graham Lots when she got married and her daughter.
- 39:20Speaker 1: She and her daughter have both been through incredible health
- 39:23Speaker 1: challenges in recent years, and they've learned a little bit
- 39:27Speaker 1: about this, and then they studied the life of Joseph
- 39:31Speaker 1: in scripture and of all things, now there's a book
- 39:35Speaker 1: detailing their journeys, the narrative of Joseph and how God works.
- 39:42Speaker 1: That is a truly inspiring story. And I am truly
- 39:45Speaker 1: honored to have and Graham Lots joining us to tell
- 39:50Speaker 1: this story. I think it's just going to be a
- 39:52Speaker 1: remarkable conversation. I hope you'll stick around for it. I
- 39:56Speaker 1: also want you to get your watch kit for Heaven
- 39:58Speaker 1: How I Got Here, And if you have not done
- 40:00Speaker 1: that yet, go to that Kevin Show backslash Heaven that
- 40:04Speaker 1: Kevinshow dot Com backslash Heaven that kevinshow dot Com backslash

- 42:00Speaker 4: He wants to be, but is way grateful that is
- 42:04Speaker 4: not who he used to be.
- 42:05Speaker 1: Here, Well, welcome, Kavil McCullough. Glad to have you with us,
- 42:14Speaker 1: Always pleased to have you here. Sometimes on Wednesdays we
- 42:17Speaker 1: take a little bit more of a focused look at
- 42:20Speaker 1: life and health and happiness. And today in the next
- 42:24Speaker 1: few minutes, we're going to take more of a look
- 42:26Speaker 1: at spiritual health and life and happiness and what's good
- 42:31Speaker 1: for us than I sometimes do. I've got some very
- 42:35Speaker 1: special guests. John i Elo is going to be with
- 42:38Speaker 1: us from a group called Open the Bible. Their whole
- 42:40Speaker 1: focus at that organization is to get you more interested
- 42:44Speaker 1: in what's inside of the Bible. Maybe that doesn't appeal
- 42:47Speaker 1: to you, maybe it does, but we think it's worth conversation.
- 42:52Speaker 1: Then I'm going to be joined by and Graham Lots
- 42:56Speaker 1: and her daughter Rachel Lots, right, and I expect this
- 43:02Speaker 1: to be a really interesting discussion because between heart attacks
- 43:07Speaker 1: and cancer, there is a very big message that these
- 43:11Speaker 1: two women have for us, and I'm looking forward to
- 43:15Speaker 1: that discussion. But I want to start with something that
- 43:17Speaker 1: kept me awake this morning at three am. It was
- 43:22Speaker 1: a thought, a thought that turned into a thread that
- 43:25Speaker 1: ran through my head. That runs through nearly every major
- 43:29Speaker 1: debate consuming our culture today. It shows up in conversations
- 43:33Speaker 1: about gender, energy, economics, justice, foreign policy, and even the
- 43:41Speaker 1: meaning of life itself. And once I saw it, I
- 43:44Speaker 1: couldn't unsee it. I don't think you'll be able to either.
- 43:48Speaker 1: At the center of it all is a single, unavoidable truth,
- 43:52Speaker 1: God's design works, and the modern left can't stand that.
- 43:58Speaker 1: That's not hyperbole, it's not partisan chest thumping. It's the
- 44:02Speaker 1: unavoidable conclusion drawn from watching how these debates actually play
- 44:07Speaker 1: out in the real world, because over and over again,
- 44:11Speaker 1: when humanity aligns itself with the way God designed things
- 44:14Speaker 1: to function, life flourishes, and when we rebel against that design,
- 44:18Speaker 1: things fracture, they decay and collapse. Start with the most
- 44:23Speaker 1: personal and volatile debate of the moment, the human body.
- 44:26Speaker 1: For thousands of years, every civilization understood something simple and profound.
- 44:31Speaker 1: Male and female are not arbitrary categories. They are foundational realities,
- 44:38Speaker 1: embedded into the very fabric of all human existence. Modern
- 44:42Speaker 1: biology it has not undone that truth. In fact, it
- 44:48Speaker 1: has confirmed it. At the cellular level, every cell in
- 44:52Speaker 1: the human body carries the imprint of sex xx or
- 44:55Speaker 1: x y. It's written into the DNA. And yet, in
- 44:59Speaker 1: defianants of both ancient wisdom and modern science, we are
- 45:03Speaker 1: told that identity can be declared apart from biology, that
- 45:06Speaker 1: surgical alteration and hormonal intervention can override what is literally
- 45:12Speaker 1: encoded into every cell, and reality doesn't bend. Study after
- 45:17Speaker 1: study have raised serious concerns about long term physical and
- 45:22Speaker 1: psychological outcomes tied to aggressive medical interventions, particularly among miners.
- 45:27Speaker 1: The human body was not designed to be dismantled and reassembled,
- 45:31Speaker 1: according to ideology. It was designed with intention, with purpose,
- 45:35Speaker 1: with design affirming that design leads to health, coherence, stability.
- 45:43Speaker 1: Rejecting it leads to confusion and fragmentation and harm. The
- 45:48Speaker 1: same pattern emerges when you step into the energy debate.
- 45:51Speaker 1: For centuries, human flourishing has dependent on reliable, scalable energy.
- 45:56Speaker 1: Entire civilizations have risen on the back of it, and
- 45:59Speaker 1: yet today were told to abandon the very systems that
- 46:02Speaker 1: power modern life, not because viable alternatives are ready to
- 46:06Speaker 1: fully replace them, but because ideology demands it. And the
- 46:09Speaker 1: result energy shortages, rising costs, strained infrastructure nations forced to
- 46:17Speaker 1: make desperate compromises just to keep lights on God's design
- 46:22Speaker 1: for the earth included abundance resources to be stewarded wisely,
- 46:26Speaker 1: not rejected. These aren't just nice ideas, they are the
- 46:30Speaker 1: foundation of every prosperous society in history. Undermine them through corruption,
- 46:36Speaker 1: redistribution schemes detached from productivity, or the erosion of accountability.
- 46:41Speaker 1: In what happens, inflation rises, opportunity shrinks, trust collapse. Because
- 46:47Speaker 1: the economic systems are not immune from moral reality, they
- 46:51Speaker 1: depend on it. The area of justice tells us the
- 46:54Speaker 1: same story. At the heart of true justice is the
- 46:57Speaker 1: concept of the imago day, the belief that every human
- 47:00Speaker 1: being is made in the image of God and therefore
- 47:03Speaker 1: possesses inherent dignity and worth. That idea has shaped Western
- 47:07Speaker 1: legal systems for centuries. It is why we value life,
- 47:10Speaker 1: why we pursue fairness, why we punish wrongdoing, but strip
- 47:15Speaker 1: that foundation away, and justice becomes something else entirely. It
- 47:20Speaker 1: becomes selective and political, and weaponized and unjust. We've seen
- 47:25Speaker 1: it play out where a theft of public resources is excused,
- 47:29Speaker 1: where law enforcement is undermined, where victims are forgotten and
- 47:33Speaker 1: criminals are rationalized. When justice is no longer anchored in
- 47:37Speaker 1: the inherent value of every human life, it stops being
- 47:40Speaker 1: justice at all. It becomes power. Then there's peace. Peace
- 47:46Speaker 1: is not achieved by appeasement. It is not sustained by weakness.
- 47:50Speaker 1: History has proven that time and time again. Real peace
- 47:54Speaker 1: comes through strength, clarity, moral conviction, the willingness to confront
- 47:59Speaker 1: evil and to restrain evil. Scripture understood this long before
- 48:04Speaker 1: modern geopolitics ever existed. Blessed are the peacemakers does not
- 48:09Speaker 1: mean blessed are the passive. It means blessed are those
- 48:12Speaker 1: willing to do the hard and often costly work of
- 48:16Speaker 1: establishing and maintaining order. We are watching that principle play
- 48:21Speaker 1: out on the world stage even now, and finally, there
- 48:24Speaker 1: is life itself. Populations don't survive by accident. They survive
- 48:31Speaker 1: when families are formed, when children are formed, when communities
- 48:36Speaker 1: are formed with love and sacrifice, and continuity. Every civilization
- 48:42Speaker 1: that has thrived has honored those truths in some form,
- 48:46Speaker 1: but reject them, devalue family, diminish the importance of children,
- 48:52Speaker 1: readdefine the structure of human relationships. And the consequences are immediate.
- 48:57Speaker 1: Birth rates collapse, loneliness rises, society's age and weaken. Life withers.
- 49:05Speaker 1: Because life flourishes when it aligns with God's design. All
- 49:10Speaker 1: of this points to a reality that many would rather avoid.
- 49:14Speaker 1: This isn't ultimately about politics. It's about authority. God's design
- 49:19Speaker 1: stands as a constant, unchanging reference point. It doesn't shift
- 49:24Speaker 1: with cultural trends. It doesn't bend to ideological pressure. It
- 49:27Speaker 1: simply is. And that presents a problem for any worldview
- 49:32Speaker 1: that insists on self definition above all else, because if
- 49:36Speaker 1: God's design is true, then we are not the ultimate
- 49:39Speaker 1: authors of reality. And that is the tension at the
- 49:42Speaker 1: heart of it all. The anger, the insistence, the relentless
- 49:47Speaker 1: push to redefine what has always been. It is not
- 49:50Speaker 1: just disagreement with other people. It is resistance to the
- 49:54Speaker 1: one who designed it all. But here's the part that
- 49:58Speaker 1: should give every one of us pause us and hope.
- 50:02Speaker 1: God's design is an arbitrary. It's not restrictive for the
- 50:06Speaker 1: sake of restriction. It is ordered toward life, toward flourishing,
- 50:10Speaker 1: toward love. And when we live within it, we don't
- 50:13Speaker 1: lose freedom, we find it. When we honor it, we
- 50:17Speaker 1: don't diminish humanity, we elevate it. And when we reject it,
- 50:22Speaker 1: the consequences aren't just philosophical, they are painfully, unmistakably real,
- 50:27Speaker 1: because in the end, reality always wins, and reality, whether
- 50:32Speaker 1: we acknowledge it or not, still belongs to the God
- 50:37Speaker 1: who created it. Un Kevin mccollor.
- 50:56Speaker 3: Here he is from New York. Kevin McCullough.
- 51:04Speaker 1: Welcome back to Times Square. Kevin McCullough. Glad to have
- 51:07Speaker 1: you live and always thankful to be able to talk
- 51:10Speaker 1: about all things in life, not just what's going on
- 51:12Speaker 1: on the front page, but also as we have been
- 51:15Speaker 1: kind of walking through this lent and season, and it
- 51:18Speaker 1: always happens, at least I shouldn't say always. In the
- 51:21Speaker 1: last couple of years, some of the days leading up
- 51:24Speaker 1: to Holy Week have been kind of formative for me, like,
- 51:28Speaker 1: for instance, yesterday with Saint Patrick's Day, and so I
- 51:31Speaker 1: spent some time talking about who he really was and
- 51:35Speaker 1: what he really lived through, And it's very different than
- 51:37Speaker 1: the plastic hats and green beer, like, that's not who
- 51:40Speaker 1: Saint Patrick was. This was a man who lived in slavery.
- 51:44Speaker 1: It was liberated and went back to where he was
- 51:46Speaker 1: enslaved for one express purpose to just share the Gospel
- 51:50Speaker 1: with the island of Ireland. He wasn't Irish by nature,
- 51:55Speaker 1: and so it was a big lift for him. Do
- 51:58Speaker 1: you have to be Saint Patrick to have an evangelistic
- 52:01Speaker 1: heart during the Holy Week season? I don't think so.
- 52:05Speaker 1: I mean, if you have that level of commitment, the
- 52:07Speaker 1: mission field is probably calling your name. But for a
- 52:09Speaker 1: lot of us, we want to be more reaching out
- 52:14Speaker 1: with our faith. We want to invite friends, we want
- 52:16Speaker 1: to tell them about the good News, but sometimes we
- 52:19Speaker 1: are a little intimidated or scared or fearful of how
- 52:22Speaker 1: to do that. Not wanting to reject a friend, not
- 52:24Speaker 1: wanting a friend to reject us. John Ielo is back
- 52:27Speaker 1: with us from an organization called Open the Bible, whose
- 52:29Speaker 1: express purpose is just to get people interested in reading
- 52:33Speaker 1: what's inside scripture, which is kind of a cool organization.
- 52:36Speaker 1: But John, for the last number of years we've been
- 52:39Speaker 1: working together on something called heaven. How I got here
- 52:42Speaker 1: the story of the Thief on the Cross, And I
- 52:44Speaker 1: know that you were thinking about that very question recently.
- 52:47Speaker 1: How do I share my faith? How do I cast
- 52:50Speaker 1: my faith? And this film, this WatchKit opportunity that we
- 52:54Speaker 1: have been talking about, is really a low barrier, simple
- 52:58Speaker 1: entry way for people to do exactly that.
- 53:01Speaker 11: It really is, Kevin, thank you and thanks for having
- 53:03Speaker 11: me again. It can be scary to talk to people
- 53:06Speaker 11: about faith, to share the gospel, as you were discussing,
- 53:08Speaker 11: Saint Patrick did so effectively.
- 53:10Speaker 2: And you know, when you think.
- 53:11Speaker 11: About the whole Bible and its entirety, that can be intimidating,
- 53:14Speaker 11: not only to the listener but to the deliverer.
- 53:16Speaker 2: Right, it's hard to share that whole story, the story
- 53:18Speaker 2: the Thief on the Cross.
- 53:19Speaker 11: However, it's just a little piece of Luke chapter twenty three,
- 53:22Speaker 11: and it's so clear, and it's so concise, and it
- 53:25Speaker 11: delivers the gospel as clearly as anything else in God's Word.
- 53:28Speaker 11: And that's why this story can be so helpful to
- 53:31Speaker 11: you out there today listening, watching, if you've got somebody
- 53:34Speaker 11: on your heart that needs to hear the good news
- 53:36Speaker 11: of Jesus Christ and you can do it without being
- 53:39Speaker 11: an MDiv professor or you know, a PhD Bible theelogian.
- 53:43Speaker 11: It's just normal people talking to normal people about God's word.
- 53:46Speaker 2: And that's where the magic happens. In my mind.
- 53:48Speaker 1: Well, and I think, and I've said this in our
- 53:51Speaker 1: last couple of discussions, we'll say it again. I think
- 53:54Speaker 1: that the story of the Thief is the most hope
- 53:58Speaker 1: filled story of the Gospel that we see represented in scripture.
- 54:02Speaker 1: Lots of other people become apostles or gospel writers or
- 54:08Speaker 1: missionaries or big full time workers for Jesus. His disciples
- 54:14Speaker 1: go out and they have their ministry after he leaves
- 54:17Speaker 1: and goes back to heaven after his resurrection. There's a
- 54:20Speaker 1: lot of people that tell a lot of very interesting
- 54:22Speaker 1: things about long spiritual journeys. The thief had none of that.
- 54:26Speaker 1: He had no opportunity to join a men's group. He
- 54:29Speaker 1: couldn't give any money to help build an extension. There
- 54:32Speaker 1: was no aisle for him to walk down. There was
- 54:36Speaker 1: nothing that he could do to self generate a relationship
- 54:41Speaker 1: with God.
- 54:42Speaker 11: Right, Yeah, I mean literally, he couldn't walk the path
- 54:45Speaker 11: of righteousness. His feet were nailed to across like Jesus right.
- 54:48Speaker 11: He couldn't hand out food to serve the needy. His
- 54:51Speaker 11: hands were nailed to across, just like Jesus. And yet
- 54:55Speaker 11: Jesus said to him today you will be with me
- 54:57Speaker 11: in Paradise. He confessed is his sin essentially at the cross,
- 55:01Speaker 11: and ask Jesus to remember him. And that's all it
- 55:03Speaker 11: took to the certainty of heaven for eternity, which is
- 55:07Speaker 11: just an amazing story. And people don't know it. They
- 55:10Speaker 11: don't understand the gist of this story. They may have
- 55:12Speaker 11: seen it in a movie. They saw the two people
- 55:14Speaker 11: next to Jesus on various crosses, and they're screaming and yelling,
- 55:17Speaker 11: And yet what happened in the soul and the heart
- 55:21Speaker 11: and in the life and eternity of that thief is
- 55:23Speaker 11: game changer for anyone out there that really doesn't yet
- 55:26Speaker 11: understand Grace.
- 55:27Speaker 1: Yeah, I want to talk about what we started with
- 55:31Speaker 1: in this segment in just a second. But before we
- 55:33Speaker 1: go any further, friends, I want you, if you're listening,
- 55:36Speaker 1: we have a very simple goal. We'd love for a
- 55:38Speaker 1: million people to view a film called Heaven How I
- 55:42Speaker 1: Got Here, the story of the Thief on the Cross.
- 55:44Speaker 1: It's free to watch. We will even deliver you the
- 55:47Speaker 1: link to your inbox so that you can watch it.
- 55:50Speaker 1: But we would not only like you to watch it.
- 55:52Speaker 1: We would like you to watch it and then, if
- 55:54Speaker 1: you are so moved, invite friends to watch it with you,
- 55:58Speaker 1: have them over to your house, have a have a
- 56:00Speaker 1: watch event. Some people might call him a watch party.
- 56:03Speaker 1: It may not be a party in your mind. I
- 56:04Speaker 1: think anytime I get friends together kind of have a
- 56:07Speaker 1: party atmosphere. But if you want to have an event
- 56:10Speaker 1: where you maybe put out a few snacks, a cup
- 56:13Speaker 1: of coffee or two, you watch the film together and
- 56:16Speaker 1: then have a discussion about what you see, about what
- 56:20Speaker 1: you understand about the life of what the thief went
- 56:24Speaker 1: through and how he processed all of it. The character
- 56:27Speaker 1: is portrayed by the actor Stephen Baldwin in what some
- 56:30Speaker 1: have said candidly may be his best performance as an actor,
- 56:35Speaker 1: and the story is powerfully written by Colin Smith, who
- 56:39Speaker 1: is he's the president of the Ministry Opened the Bible
- 56:43Speaker 1: and had served in a pulpit in the Chicago area
- 56:46Speaker 1: for many many years, but now full time focuses on
- 56:50Speaker 1: Open the Bible. But you can get this watch kit
- 56:52Speaker 1: at no cost to you. Just go to that kevinshow
- 56:56Speaker 1: dot com backslash heaven, that kevinshow dot com backslash heaven.
- 57:00Speaker 1: Just ask for the kit. We'd love to send it
- 57:02Speaker 1: to you. It's absolutely free. And then at the end
- 57:05Speaker 1: of everything, maybe even shoot us an email back and say,
- 57:08Speaker 1: let me tell you what God did when we had
- 57:10Speaker 1: our watch event at our house. But we would love
- 57:13Speaker 1: for a million homes to have watch events and to
- 57:16Speaker 1: share the gospel through this simple story of the thief
- 57:19Speaker 1: on the Cross. Now, John, you and I were talking
- 57:21Speaker 1: before we went on the air to be how do
- 57:23Speaker 1: I know who to invite?
- 57:25Speaker 11: Yeah, well let me start with this. First of all,
- 57:27Speaker 11: be convicted to invite.
- 57:29Speaker 9: Right.
- 57:29Speaker 11: We have a simple mission that open the Bible. It's
- 57:31Speaker 11: we want to build a movement of people who love
- 57:33Speaker 11: to open God's word themselves and who feel equipped to
- 57:36Speaker 11: open it with others. And so what does equip mean.
- 57:39Speaker 11: It just means to have a heart to want to share.
- 57:41Speaker 11: So starting with your own heart, it's easy to sort
- 57:43Speaker 11: of hoard the gospel right to keep it to myself
- 57:45Speaker 11: and all this is wonderful. Or watch the film that
- 57:47Speaker 11: you just talked about, Kevin, and I think that was awesome.
- 57:50Speaker 11: You know, I'm on fire. The fire doesn't matter unless
- 57:53Speaker 11: you talk to somebody about it, unless you share it
- 57:55Speaker 11: a little bit. So who to talk to?
- 57:57Speaker 3: Pray?
- 57:57Speaker 11: First of all, my first advice would be just pray
- 58:00Speaker 11: Lord to who in my life needs to hear the.
- 58:03Speaker 2: True understand the true story of Grace.
- 58:05Speaker 11: That maybe is walking around thinking maybe I've lived a
- 58:08Speaker 11: good enough life. You know, I'm a pretty good guy.
- 58:10Speaker 11: I'm a pretty good galley. I haven't done too much.
- 58:12Speaker 11: You know, I'm pretty good with the commandments. Right, people
- 58:15Speaker 11: walking around sort of thinking that's how they might get
- 58:17Speaker 11: into heaven, Right, these are the people that need to
- 58:20Speaker 11: hear this. These are the people that maybe need to
- 58:22Speaker 11: hear you share a little bit about your own brokenness,
- 58:25Speaker 11: your own sinfulness, and how Grace has changed your own
- 58:28Speaker 11: walk with the Lord and understanding of what happened at
- 58:30Speaker 11: the cross. So I would say, pray number one is
- 58:33Speaker 11: the first thing, and then ask ask these people. You know,
- 58:37Speaker 11: we'll give you some tools, send a trailer, send whatever
- 58:39Speaker 11: you need to do, go on our website, find the
- 58:42Speaker 11: right words. But honestly, just asking, hey, would you would
- 58:45Speaker 11: you come and watch this with me? Okay, it's an easy.
- 58:47Speaker 2: Ask.
- 58:47Speaker 11: It's an hour long film, it's free, it's engaging. The
- 58:51Speaker 11: performance itself is worth the hour, I promise you.
- 58:53Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, but ask.
- 58:56Speaker 11: If you don't ask, it's not going to happen. Okay,
- 58:59Speaker 11: And then pray again, Lord, they said, yes, give me
- 59:03Speaker 11: the right words when they walk in the door, you know,
- 59:05Speaker 11: give me the right snacks when they come to the countertop.
- 59:08Speaker 11: Let me let me have the words and what I've found.
- 59:11Speaker 11: When you pray that way, the Holy Spirit is bat
- 59:14Speaker 11: in a thousand, always gives you the right words, always
- 59:17Speaker 11: gives you the right heart.
- 59:18Speaker 2: And you do not need to be able to repeat it.
- 59:20Speaker 11: You do not need to be a theologian to share
- 59:22Speaker 11: the gospel, and these tools are helpful to do that.
- 59:25Speaker 11: All you need to do is maybe simply ask, Hey,
- 59:27Speaker 11: what did you relate to with the thief? Here's what
- 59:29Speaker 11: I related to you know what I mean? I thought
- 59:31Speaker 11: I was doing okay. I thought I was so far
- 59:33Speaker 11: from God. I thought I had done so many things
- 59:35Speaker 11: so bad that God wanted nothing to do with me.
- 59:37Speaker 11: Relate a little bit of yourself, and then ask them
- 59:39Speaker 11: to just relate a little bit, okay, And then I
- 59:42Speaker 11: would argue, just ask the simple question.
- 59:44Speaker 2: You know, how do you think the guy got into heaven?
- 59:45Speaker 2: You know what changed?
- 59:47Speaker 6: You know?
- 59:47Speaker 2: What did he do?
- 59:49Speaker 3: You know?
- 59:49Speaker 11: And just ask him to comment on a movie. We
- 59:51Speaker 11: all got a little Roger Ebert in us the movie
- 59:54Speaker 11: Did you like it?
- 59:55Speaker 2: Would you think?
- 59:55Speaker 3: Thumbs up? Thumbs down?
- 59:57Speaker 11: And just start into the conversation and the Holy Spirit
- 59:59Speaker 11: will be right by your shine every step.
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: No doubt. All right, friends, here's our assignment for the week.
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: Get the watch kit. Make sure you have the links
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: and study questions. You can do that by going to
- 1:00:10Speaker 1: that kevinshow dot com backslash Heaven, that kevinshow dot com
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: backslash Heaven. Just request the watch kit, have it on hand,
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: pre watch the movie yourself so you know what you're
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: going to show them, and then be putting your list together.
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: And what I have found John, when I've been challenged
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: on things like this, and I go to a really
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: funny church that does things like mugging our neighbors at
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: Christmas at Easter time. Mugging our neighbors is we give
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: them a mug that is full of em and m's
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: or glad you explain that other things and we take
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: it and we say hey, come join us on Holy Weekend.
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: But we mug our neighbors. But when the pastor says,
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: you know, think about who you're going to invite, I
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: don't even really have to think that very long or
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: that very hard, because there's always people that I know. Oh,
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: that person's starting to be more open to what God
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: asked for them, or this person's been through a hard
- 1:01:03Speaker 1: time and I've prayed with them, or there's people I
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: know that are going through something. Now, the Lord will
- 1:01:08Speaker 1: put people on your heart. He will supply names faces.
- 1:01:11Speaker 1: There will not be a vacuum in that. The resistance
- 1:01:16Speaker 1: will come from inside of us. And if we can
- 1:01:19Speaker 1: just lean forward a little bit God, we'll do all
- 1:01:22Speaker 1: of it to His glory. John I Lo thank you
- 1:01:25Speaker 1: for the challenge, Thank you for letting us be part
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: of it. Thank you for what you're doing.
- 1:01:28Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 1:01:29Speaker 3: Kevin. Great to be Thank you.
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: Kevin mccallach. Coming right back from Times Square. Don't go away, Let's.
- 1:01:36Speaker 3: Stick around for more of that.
- 1:01:38Speaker 13: Kevin next here he is from New York.
- 1:01:59Speaker 3: Kevin. Kevin McCullough.
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: Welcome back to Times Square. Times Square, No, not Times Square,
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: that Kevin shows the name of the show that kevinshow
- 1:02:09Speaker 1: dot com is where you find everything, and we do
- 1:02:11Speaker 1: come to you from Times Square every day, grateful to
- 1:02:13Speaker 1: be here. I'm very pleased to have my next guests
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: because there's probably no more practical topic that you will
- 1:02:20Speaker 1: ever face or be forced to deal with than the
- 1:02:24Speaker 1: disappointments of life. And when those disappointments reach deep, when
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: the cancer word comes into your vocabulary, when someone walks
- 1:02:32Speaker 1: out on you, when there is a sudden vacuum in
- 1:02:35Speaker 1: your life that you weren't expecting. These are the moments where,
- 1:02:39Speaker 1: shall we say, the rubber meets the road. And in
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: the Bible, this was actually very present in one of
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: the lives of the most well known Old Testament patriarchs,
- 1:02:50Speaker 1: but also in the life of Jesus in what he
- 1:02:53Speaker 1: experiences towards the end of his time. Joining me to
- 1:02:56Speaker 1: discuss all of this is an Graham Lots, who's been
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: with us before, and it's great to see you and
- 1:03:01Speaker 1: Rachel Ruth. Lot's right, who is the who's making her
- 1:03:04Speaker 1: debut with us. Rachel Ruth, it's good to have you
- 1:03:07Speaker 1: with us as well. And the book is called God
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: Won't Leave You There Joseph's Story. Ladies, I don't think
- 1:03:14Speaker 1: I knew until I read some of the publication for
- 1:03:18Speaker 1: the book about the level of loss that you've each
- 1:03:21Speaker 1: kind of walked through in recent years. As you were
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: putting this book together. What was it about your individual
- 1:03:28Speaker 1: journeys that said, we've got to tell people about the
- 1:03:32Speaker 1: hope that is here. And how did you even begin
- 1:03:36Speaker 1: to process going from where you were in some of
- 1:03:38Speaker 1: those dark moments to now really offering hope to those
- 1:03:43Speaker 1: that are maybe seeking seeing them right now?
- 1:03:45Speaker 10: You know, Kevin, I think it wasn't just our journey,
- 1:03:49Speaker 10: but everybody we know is suffering in some way, has
- 1:03:53Speaker 10: some sort of disappointment, disaster. Life is hard, and I
- 1:03:58Speaker 10: think it's gotten harder for some reason. And so what
- 1:04:02Speaker 10: you've referred to from me, you know, my mother went
- 1:04:04Speaker 10: to heaven, then my father went to heaven. And the
- 1:04:07Speaker 10: year that my father went to heaven that that was
- 1:04:10Speaker 10: in February. Then it was in August that I was
- 1:04:13Speaker 10: diagnosed with breast cancer, went through surgery, chemotherapy, radiation that
- 1:04:17Speaker 10: took like a year, and then have had other issues
- 1:04:21Speaker 10: since then. Rachel Ruth has said her own problems, But
- 1:04:24Speaker 10: I think what's carried us through and this is what
- 1:04:26Speaker 10: I would want to get across to everybody that if
- 1:04:28Speaker 10: you don't have trouble in your life, if there's not
- 1:04:30Speaker 10: any suffering, if there's not a disaster, it's make sure
- 1:04:33Speaker 10: you establish a relationship with God now, because you don't
- 1:04:37Speaker 10: want to wait until you have a disaster and then
- 1:04:38Speaker 10: have to scramble to develop a relationship with God. I
- 1:04:41Speaker 10: had a strong relationship with God when all of those
- 1:04:45Speaker 10: things took place, and it was and actually it was
- 1:04:48Speaker 10: before my father went to have her. My husband went
- 1:04:50Speaker 10: to heaven unexpectedly. That was three years before my father
- 1:04:53Speaker 10: did so. But it was my relationship with the Lord
- 1:04:57Speaker 10: that carried me through. And my relationship with the Lord
- 1:04:59Speaker 10: is my own. I don't it's not dependent on my husband,
- 1:05:03Speaker 10: or my father, or my mother or my health. My
- 1:05:07Speaker 10: relationship with the Lord is deeper than that, broader than that,
- 1:05:10Speaker 10: stronger than that. So when a disaster comes, the relationship
- 1:05:14Speaker 10: of the Lord is like your bedrock. It's what carries
- 1:05:18Speaker 10: you through. And I've learned to trust him. He's in control,
- 1:05:23Speaker 10: he knows what he's doing. I've given him my life.
- 1:05:25Speaker 10: I remember I told the radiologists when I was diagnosed
- 1:05:28Speaker 10: with the cancer and after the mammogram and he had
- 1:05:31Speaker 10: a box of Kleenex from me to be crying. And
- 1:05:34Speaker 10: I said, no, I said, you don't understand. God's in control,
- 1:05:38Speaker 10: and I know if He's allowed this, that is for
- 1:05:39Speaker 10: a greater purpose.
- 1:05:40Speaker 9: So that's that's critical, I think.
- 1:05:44Speaker 10: And if you haven't established relationship with God and the
- 1:05:47Speaker 10: disaster is hit, then maybe this book and what we
- 1:05:50Speaker 10: testify would encourage you to do that, because that's your
- 1:05:54Speaker 10: number one priority. It's not your healthy or happiness, it's
- 1:05:57Speaker 10: your relationship with God.
- 1:05:58Speaker 1: I just want to repeat the title of the book,
- 1:06:01Speaker 1: God won't leave you there. It's Joseph's story, But that's
- 1:06:05Speaker 1: an encouraging title for the book, just even of itself.
- 1:06:09Speaker 1: Rachel Ruth, your mom is speaking here, and I'm saying
- 1:06:13Speaker 1: to myself, I'm hearing my long time pastor, doctor Ray
- 1:06:17Speaker 1: Pritchard's voice in my head because he used to always say,
- 1:06:20Speaker 1: everyone in life is in one of three places. We're
- 1:06:23Speaker 1: smack dab in the middle of a crisis or trial,
- 1:06:26Speaker 1: we are about to enter one, or we've just left one.
- 1:06:30Speaker 1: But in life, it's going to happen, and it's not
- 1:06:34Speaker 1: going to be a very unique thing for people to
- 1:06:37Speaker 1: have trials on a regular basis, so from and describe
- 1:06:41Speaker 1: what she was going through. Let's walk through what you
- 1:06:44Speaker 1: were facing as you were preparing for this message.
- 1:06:48Speaker 12: I've had hard things to kind of my whole life,
- 1:06:50Speaker 12: just different difficult things. But four years ago is when
- 1:06:55Speaker 12: I just really got slammed. I had ended up, long
- 1:06:59Speaker 12: story short, through a terrible stress test that I went
- 1:07:04Speaker 12: in for my heart.
- 1:07:04Speaker 7: I just had like a not a big deal.
- 1:07:06Speaker 12: Thing going on with my heart that I'd had forever
- 1:07:09Speaker 12: and it was nothing. But I went in for.
- 1:07:11Speaker 7: A stress test that went terrible. Like I then ran.
- 1:07:14Speaker 12: It was terrible, and I walked out with all this
- 1:07:19Speaker 12: chest pain and I was crying.
- 1:07:20Speaker 7: I didn't know what was going on, and thought, oh,
- 1:07:22Speaker 7: I must have pulled some muscles.
- 1:07:23Speaker 12: That's where you've run on the treadmill and all this,
- 1:07:26Speaker 12: and and four days later I was like, I think
- 1:07:30Speaker 12: I'm having a heart attack.
- 1:07:31Speaker 7: And I went in and sure.
- 1:07:33Speaker 12: Enough, after they figured it out, it's called I had
- 1:07:38Speaker 12: what it was called spontaneous coronary artery dissection, where the
- 1:07:41Speaker 12: inside of your artery and your heart just shreds.
- 1:07:44Speaker 7: And so the first one.
- 1:07:46Speaker 12: You know, was morphine didn't even touch it in the
- 1:07:49Speaker 12: hospital hurt so bad, and they were like, well, it'll
- 1:07:52Speaker 12: just heal.
- 1:07:52Speaker 7: It's too far down in your heart.
- 1:07:53Speaker 12: To get a stent into it. And that's the way
- 1:07:56Speaker 12: the Lord would have it. He was so sovereign. I
- 1:07:58Speaker 12: stayed over that night and the next day had a
- 1:08:01Speaker 12: massive scad heart attack and my other artery where it
- 1:08:04Speaker 12: shredded from top to bottom.
- 1:08:05Speaker 7: And I shouldn't be here.
- 1:08:06Speaker 12: I mean, God literally saved my life just I mean,
- 1:08:09Speaker 12: it's crazy and so but since then, for three years
- 1:08:12Speaker 12: after that, I was in horrible They said it could
- 1:08:15Speaker 12: happen again. You know. I had all these stints from
- 1:08:17Speaker 12: my heart everything, and the pain was horrible. I ended
- 1:08:21Speaker 12: up having blood clots in my lungs, had a mini stroke.
- 1:08:23Speaker 12: I went to the hospital like twelve times thinking I
- 1:08:26Speaker 12: was having another one, and so it was like it
- 1:08:28Speaker 12: was intense. But God was with me through all of it.
- 1:08:32Speaker 12: He spoke to me through his word. He encouraged me.
- 1:08:35Speaker 7: It was the pits. I wouldn't wish it on anybody.
- 1:08:37Speaker 12: But at the same time, God took me to a
- 1:08:40Speaker 12: deep level of just trusting him.
- 1:08:54Speaker 3: Here he is from New York.
- 1:08:58Speaker 7: That's act.
- 1:08:59Speaker 2: Kevin.
- 1:09:01Speaker 1: Kevin McCullough, all right, final few minutes with and Graham
- 1:09:06Speaker 1: Locks and Rachel Ruth Lots, and we're very excited to
- 1:09:08Speaker 1: be announcing their book God Won't Leave You There, Joseph's
- 1:09:11Speaker 1: Story and told me before we went on the on
- 1:09:14Speaker 1: the air that I'm the first one on the tour,
- 1:09:16Speaker 1: so I feel kind of special about all that, and
- 1:09:18Speaker 1: thank you. I want to get into what I think
- 1:09:22Speaker 1: is really the big issue here, and that is that
- 1:09:27Speaker 1: God's in charge and we're not. And sometimes that's interpreted
- 1:09:32Speaker 1: as being unhealthy or harsh or in some way mean.
- 1:09:39Speaker 1: But I think of like Psalm one fifteen three that says,
- 1:09:42Speaker 1: and we know that our God is in heaven and
- 1:09:44Speaker 1: does what pleases him. I think of a back of
- 1:09:47Speaker 1: two three where it says, for the vision is for
- 1:09:50Speaker 1: the appointed time, though it terries wait for it, he
- 1:09:53Speaker 1: will not delay. There's there's all this reminder through scripture
- 1:09:58Speaker 1: and certainly in the life of Joseph, that there that
- 1:10:01Speaker 1: there is someone bigger than us, outside of us, beyond us,
- 1:10:05Speaker 1: that we are accountable to. And I want to go
- 1:10:08Speaker 1: theological on this for a second. It's not wrong to
- 1:10:11Speaker 1: be heartbroken at times. Heartbrokenness is something that happens as
- 1:10:14Speaker 1: a result of sad things happening. But it's when that
- 1:10:17Speaker 1: takes root and becomes bitter, and the bitterness turns into
- 1:10:20Speaker 1: a defiance against the sovereign God that we really end
- 1:10:25Speaker 1: up in trouble. And it's man's inability to admit that
- 1:10:28Speaker 1: God is in control and that we're not that the
- 1:10:31Speaker 1: disalignment happens. And you're what you're calling people to in
- 1:10:34Speaker 1: this book is to realign themselves with God, realign themselves
- 1:10:39Speaker 1: with his sovereignty, realign themselves with his plan. Talk to
- 1:10:42Speaker 1: us about that important kind of theological concept, because I
- 1:10:46Speaker 1: think that in America especially, it's very easy to think
- 1:10:49Speaker 1: God fits in my pocket, He's happy to have me around.
- 1:10:53Speaker 1: I'm very happy to have him when all things are good.
- 1:10:55Speaker 1: But that's not the God of the Bible.
- 1:10:57Speaker 9: Actually, I don't think we pay much attention whenever.
- 1:11:00Speaker 1: Also very true, and I think.
- 1:11:01Speaker 10: What you've described, Kevin is somebody who does not trust
- 1:11:05Speaker 10: the goodness of God. So God is in control, he
- 1:11:08Speaker 10: can do whatever he chooses. Yes, that's but God is
- 1:11:12Speaker 10: good and he's faithful, and he's true, and he loves
- 1:11:17Speaker 10: each and every one of us, and he has a
- 1:11:19Speaker 10: plan for our lives of purpose, Jeremiah says, not of evil,
- 1:11:23Speaker 10: but to a purpose to give us a good future,
- 1:11:26Speaker 10: to give us hope. And so I think goes back
- 1:11:29Speaker 10: to the Garden of Eden in Genesis chapter three, when
- 1:11:32Speaker 10: the devil tempted Eve to doubt the goodness of God.
- 1:11:35Speaker 10: You know, that was he holding out on her. He
- 1:11:37Speaker 10: didn't want her to eat from that tree because he
- 1:11:39Speaker 10: didn't want her to have something that really she should
- 1:11:42Speaker 10: have had.
- 1:11:42Speaker 9: And so right at the very outset, she.
- 1:11:46Speaker 10: Was being tempted to doubt God's goodness. And so I
- 1:11:48Speaker 10: think it needs you need to go back to your
- 1:11:51Speaker 10: view of God and who he is. And if I
- 1:11:54Speaker 10: can just tell your listeners, that's whoever you are, God
- 1:11:58Speaker 10: loves you, loves you, and he loves you so much
- 1:12:02Speaker 10: that he actually came to earth. Jesus is the son
- 1:12:05Speaker 10: of God. That doesn't mean God junior. He means God
- 1:12:08Speaker 10: in the human flesh. And he came in the human
- 1:12:11Speaker 10: flesh to down the cross to take away your sin.
- 1:12:14Speaker 10: That if you would put your trust in him, he
- 1:12:16Speaker 10: would forgive you clanse you of your sin, bring you
- 1:12:19Speaker 10: into a right relationship with himself. You open up your heart,
- 1:12:22Speaker 10: you invite him to come in. He comes in in
- 1:12:24Speaker 10: the person of his spirit. He will never leave you
- 1:12:26Speaker 10: and never forsake you. And at that point in time,
- 1:12:29Speaker 10: you become his child, and then he takes responsibility for you.
- 1:12:33Speaker 10: So like when Great Truth was little, you know, if
- 1:12:35Speaker 10: there's a situation where the neighbor's children, I take responsibility
- 1:12:39Speaker 10: for her, and I send the neighbor's children home, And
- 1:12:41Speaker 10: so God takes full responsibility for his own children. And
- 1:12:46Speaker 10: so if you're a child of God, if you've been
- 1:12:48Speaker 10: to the cross, you've confessed your sin, you've turned away
- 1:12:50Speaker 10: from it, invited Christ to be your savior and Lord,
- 1:12:53Speaker 10: and surrendered your life to him. Your life is in
- 1:12:55Speaker 10: his hands, and he's a good God, and he wants
- 1:12:58Speaker 10: the best for you. He wants you to be blessed,
- 1:13:01Speaker 10: and he doesn't want you to miss out on anything.
- 1:13:03Speaker 10: So if you defy him and resist him, at the
- 1:13:06Speaker 10: very least, you're going to experience less than what God
- 1:13:09Speaker 10: wants you to have. So he's a good guy. And
- 1:13:12Speaker 10: I knew that when I was diagnosed. I knew that
- 1:13:14Speaker 10: when I found my husband unresponsive in our pool, and
- 1:13:17Speaker 10: I've known that through rachelous heart attacks, that God is
- 1:13:21Speaker 10: good and we just cling to him and it doesn't.
- 1:13:23Speaker 9: Mean we don't cry. It doesn't mean we don't have
- 1:13:26Speaker 9: a hard time. And I'll tell you something else, Kevin.
- 1:13:28Speaker 10: People who've treated you unjustly, leave it to God, he says,
- 1:13:31Speaker 10: vengeance is mine. I will repay and he's going to
- 1:13:34Speaker 10: sort it out. We can just leave him to deal
- 1:13:38Speaker 10: with those other people, and.
- 1:13:38Speaker 1: He'll do it so much better than we could anyway,
- 1:13:40Speaker 1: So we're.
- 1:13:41Speaker 9: Free to forgive.
- 1:13:42Speaker 1: That's it, Rachel, Ruth. We're running out of time. But
- 1:13:45Speaker 1: I want to give you a chance to really speak
- 1:13:47Speaker 1: to the same people that your mom just did, and
- 1:13:50Speaker 1: that is to if there's someone that you could have,
- 1:13:54Speaker 1: you know, two minutes with and just say, this is
- 1:13:55Speaker 1: what I want you to know about the God that
- 1:13:58Speaker 1: I serve. What is it?
- 1:14:01Speaker 12: He's worth it, and that Jesus will walk you through
- 1:14:05Speaker 12: the darkest valleys. And you know when Jesus came here,
- 1:14:08Speaker 12: he's the son of God.
- 1:14:10Speaker 7: And he went to the cross.
- 1:14:12Speaker 12: He was beaten, he was had thorns in his head,
- 1:14:15Speaker 12: he was nailed to a cross, and you talk about
- 1:14:19Speaker 12: awfulness he went through it. He could have picked a
- 1:14:21Speaker 12: different time, but they didn't do such horrible crucifixions. But
- 1:14:25Speaker 12: that's when he came, and it was for a greater purpose,
- 1:14:29Speaker 12: you know, and it was so that we could have
- 1:14:30Speaker 12: a relationship with him, so that we weren't sent to hell,
- 1:14:33Speaker 12: that we can.
- 1:14:33Speaker 7: Go to heaven one day when we die.
- 1:14:35Speaker 12: But whatever we go through, I think the big thing
- 1:14:39Speaker 12: is to put your focus on Jesus. Put your focus
- 1:14:41Speaker 12: on who he is, and look at who he is
- 1:14:44Speaker 12: through the pages of your word, and get into your
- 1:14:47Speaker 12: Bible and fall in love with him while you're going
- 1:14:50Speaker 12: through it.
- 1:14:50Speaker 7: He is the comforter.
- 1:14:52Speaker 12: I could not have survived what I went through, even
- 1:14:55Speaker 12: mentally after being through those horrific heart attacks, for the
- 1:15:00Speaker 12: encouragement Guy gave me through his word, and he would
- 1:15:03Speaker 12: even let me know through scripture that you know I
- 1:15:07Speaker 12: wasn't to go to the hospital that night, you know,
- 1:15:09Speaker 12: when I was going I mean just different. He's so
- 1:15:10Speaker 12: personal and so wonderful and he saw me through. He
- 1:15:14Speaker 12: got me through those hard years, and he will get
- 1:15:17Speaker 12: you through and whatever you're going through and teach you
- 1:15:19Speaker 12: and love you and comfort you while you're going through it.
- 1:15:22Speaker 7: He has a plan for your life. Just hold on.
- 1:15:26Speaker 1: Right now is the chance. Friends, if you know someone
- 1:15:29Speaker 1: going through something, get a copy of this book. God
- 1:15:31Speaker 1: won't leave you there Joseph's story and put it in
- 1:15:33Speaker 1: their hands. But don't just put in their hands and
- 1:15:35Speaker 1: say bye, see you like, get it, read it with them,
- 1:15:39Speaker 1: walk walk it through with them, do what you can
- 1:15:42Speaker 1: to be Jesus with skin onto them in the process
- 1:15:45Speaker 1: of this. And I think that ladies, you've given us
- 1:15:48Speaker 1: a very very precious gift, especially in this Holy Week season.
- 1:15:53Speaker 1: And one last reminder, friends, those of you that are listening,
- 1:15:55Speaker 1: I want you to go to that Kevin show dot
- 1:15:57Speaker 1: com back slash Heaven. I want you to sign up
- 1:16:00Speaker 1: up for the viewing that we're trying to get a
- 1:16:02Speaker 1: million people to view the story of the Thief on
- 1:16:04Speaker 1: the Cross, so that you can have that personal conversation
- 1:16:07Speaker 1: with them, because you may be introducing someone to Jesus
- 1:16:10Speaker 1: for the first time this Easter. It's going to need
- 1:16:13Speaker 1: him in years to come. And again, the worst day
- 1:16:17Speaker 1: with Jesus far outshines the very best day that you
- 1:16:21Speaker 1: have all alone. And we just want to push you
- 1:16:23Speaker 1: down the path of truth so that you know that
- 1:16:26Speaker 1: for real A Graham Lots, Rachel Ruth Lot's right, thank

- 1:17:00Speaker 1: Thank you for being here, thank you for thank you
- 1:17:04Speaker 1: for joining us, for these important conversations this hour. I
- 1:17:08Speaker 1: don't know of a more important thing we could talk about.
- 1:17:12Speaker 1: And on Wednesday sometimes we talk about health. We've never
- 1:17:14Speaker 1: talked about spiritual health, not to the degree that we
- 1:17:17Speaker 1: have this hour. So thank you for being there and
- 1:17:20Speaker 1: thank you for engaging us with it, etc. We end
- 1:17:23Speaker 1: this show with a very sad reality from a family
- 1:17:28Speaker 1: that has been set a major setback in a European
- 1:17:32Speaker 1: court last week. A couple's year long fight to regain
- 1:17:36Speaker 1: custody of their daughters from the Swedish government was dealt
- 1:17:39Speaker 1: a major setback last week after a European court rejected
- 1:17:44Speaker 1: their plea for help get this. The European Court of
- 1:17:48Speaker 1: Human Rights ruled that the case brought by Daniel and
- 1:17:52Speaker 1: Bianca Samson inadmissible on March tenth, a final decision that
- 1:17:57Speaker 1: cannot be appealed. According to Alliance Defending Freedom International, which
- 1:18:01Speaker 1: is supporting the family's legal effort. The children have been
- 1:18:05Speaker 1: separated from their parents since December of twenty twenty two.
- 1:18:09Speaker 1: Alliance Defending Freedom International said the case began after the
- 1:18:12Speaker 1: couple's eldest daughter, Sarah, then eleven, made a false report
- 1:18:18Speaker 1: at school following a fight with her parents over not
- 1:18:20Speaker 1: being allowed to have a smartphone or wear makeup. Oh
- 1:18:23Speaker 1: my goodness, if this is where we go. ADF said
- 1:18:27Speaker 1: the girl quickly retracted the allegation and that prosecutors found
- 1:18:30Speaker 1: no evidence of abuse of any sort, but the Swedish
- 1:18:33Speaker 1: state refused to return the children. According to the legal group,
- 1:18:38Speaker 1: the state cited the family's habit of attending church three
- 1:18:42Speaker 1: times a week and their parenting choices as evidence of
- 1:18:47Speaker 1: religious extremism and justification for keeping the children. The girls
- 1:18:51Speaker 1: have since pleaded with the authorities to be reunited with
- 1:18:56Speaker 1: their parents and have suffered worsening mental and physical health.
- 1:19:01Speaker 1: Their parents reported that both girls attempted suicide while in
- 1:19:04Speaker 1: state care. The parents have completed state mandated parenting courses
- 1:19:09Speaker 1: and were later deemed fit to parent, according to the
- 1:19:12Speaker 1: legal group, but they still have not been reunited with
- 1:19:15Speaker 1: their daughters. They have also allegedly sought to move the
- 1:19:19Speaker 1: girls into foster care in their home country of Romania,
- 1:19:22Speaker 1: but have been denied. The European Court of Human Rights
- 1:19:27Speaker 1: deemed the case inadmissible on the grounds of failure to
- 1:19:30Speaker 1: exhaust legal remedies in Sweden. ADF International said despite the
- 1:19:36Speaker 1: Swedish Supreme Court refusing to hear the family's case in
- 1:19:39Speaker 1: twenty twenty five, we love our children, we trusted Sweden
- 1:19:42Speaker 1: to protect them, and when the truth emerged, we expected
- 1:19:45Speaker 1: our daughters to come home, said Daniel Samson in a statement.
- 1:19:49Speaker 1: Yet they remain away from us and their mental health
- 1:19:51Speaker 1: continues to deteriorate. ADF International told Premier Christian News that
- 1:19:56Speaker 1: social services in Hasselholm are now move moving to permanently
- 1:20:01Speaker 1: sever the family's ties and place the girls for adoption.
- 1:20:04Speaker 1: We deeply regret the court's decision to reject the case,
- 1:20:07Speaker 1: considering that this family has been torn apart for over
- 1:20:09Speaker 1: three years, despite a full investigation that cleared mister and
- 1:20:13Speaker 1: missus Sampson of any abuse, and the fact that the
- 1:20:16Speaker 1: social services certified their capacity and fitness for parenting after
- 1:20:20Speaker 1: they successfully completed official training. That's Guillermo Morale's Sancho, legal
- 1:20:26Speaker 1: counsel for ADF international, families should be free to live
- 1:20:30Speaker 1: according to their convictions and without fear of losing their
- 1:20:33Speaker 1: kids to the state. Sweden's Social services is not responding
- 1:20:39Speaker 1: to Fox News' requests for comment. The European Court of
- 1:20:45Speaker 1: Human Rights told Fox News Digital it considers cases on
- 1:20:49Speaker 1: a case by case basis and does not provide comment
- 1:20:52Speaker 1: on general events or matters. The court also said in
- 1:20:55Speaker 1: a single, single judge declared the case in admissible according
- 1:20:58Speaker 1: to its guidelines. Friends, the daughter told the teacher that
- 1:21:05Speaker 1: her parents were mean to her because she would They
- 1:21:07Speaker 1: wouldn't buy her a smartphone and let her wear lipstick.
- 1:21:14Speaker 1: God's Design is the left's worst nightmare, and going against
- 1:21:18Speaker 1: it is ours. Kevin mccallaugh will see you next time.
