  Speaker 1: with God together. God wants to speak to you today.

  Speaker 1: I want to read from Luke chapter 11 as we

  Speaker 1: continue our theme of God's grace in our lives.

  Speaker 1: It says in Luke 11:1, and it came about that

  Speaker 1: while Jesus was praying in a certain place after he
• 0:34
  Speaker 1: had finished, one of His disciples said to Him, Lord.

  Speaker 1: Teach us to pray just as John the Baptist also
• 0:42
  Speaker 1: taught his disciples.

  Speaker 1: And Jesus said to them,

  Speaker 1: When you pray

  Speaker 1: Say, Father

  Speaker 1: Hallowed be thy name.

  Speaker 1: Your kingdom come.

  Speaker 1: Give us each day our daily bread and forgive us

  Speaker 1: our sins, for we ourselves also forgive everyone who is

  Speaker 1: indebted to us and lead us not into temptation.

  Speaker 1: This is slightly different from the account of the Lord's

  Speaker 1: Prayer that many of us have memorised, which is the
• 1:13
  Speaker 1: one in Matthew.

  Speaker 1: And Jesus also said to them,

  Speaker 1: Suppose one of you shall have a friend and shall

  Speaker 1: go to him at midnight and say to him, Friend,

  Speaker 1: lend me 3 loaves, for a friend of mine has

  Speaker 1: come to me from a journey, and I have nothing
• 1:31
  Speaker 1: to set before him.

  Speaker 1: And from inside he shall answer and say, Don't bother me.

  Speaker 1: The door has already been shut and my children and

  Speaker 1: I are in bed. I cannot get up and give

  Speaker 1: I tell you, even though he will not get up

  Speaker 1: and give him anything because he is his friend, yet

  Speaker 1: because of his persistence he will get up and give

  Speaker 1: him as much as he needs, and I say to you,

  Speaker 1: Jesus says.

  Speaker 1: Ask and it shall be given to you. Seek and

  Speaker 1: you shall find. Knock, and it shall be opened to you,

  Speaker 1: for every one who asks receives, and he who seeks finds,

  Speaker 1: and to him who knocks it shall be opened.

  Speaker 1: And it's interesting when you look at the Greek language
• 2:24
  Speaker 1: that these words are originally written in. It really has
• 2:27
  Speaker 1: the idea keep on asking and it will be given
• 2:30
  Speaker 1: to you. Keep on seeking and you will find, keep
• 2:33
  Speaker 1: on knocking, and it will be opened to you.

  Speaker 1: You see what a difference there is between God and
• 2:41
  Speaker 1: the way people react to others, even though this guy
• 2:45
  Speaker 1: was that man's friend because he was tired, he didn't
• 2:48
  Speaker 1: want to get up and help him, but when his
• 2:51
  Speaker 1: friend persisted, then he did.
• 2:54
  Speaker 1: And Jesus says, persist in prayer because God loves to
• 2:59
  Speaker 1: respond to you.

  Speaker 1: He goes on to say, now suppose one of you
• 3:04
  Speaker 1: fathers is asked by his son for a fish. He
• 3:07
  Speaker 1: won't give him a snake instead of a fish, will he?

  Speaker 1: Or if he's asked for an egg, he won't give
• 3:11
  Speaker 1: him a scorpion, will he?

  Speaker 1: If you then, being evil, know how to give good
• 3:16
  Speaker 1: gifts to your children, how much more shall your Heavenly
• 3:20
  Speaker 1: Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him?

  Speaker 1: God is so ready to bless you. He's so ready
• 3:29
  Speaker 1: to respond to your prayers, but you need to recognise it.

  Speaker 1: If you don't ask, you miss out on so much.

  Speaker 1: Learn to pray and not just to ask with this
• 3:43
  Speaker 1: big list of things that you're running through kind of
• 3:46
  Speaker 1: uh halfheartedly, no, talk to your Father in heaven.

  Speaker 1: And as you speak to your father, share your needs
• 3:56
  Speaker 1: and your concerns, you will find the amazing reality of
• 4:02
  Speaker 1: God's response to prayer in your life.
